7 St Anne St, St. Albert, AB T8N 2X4, Canada
The Cajun House Restaurant serves St. Albert with the best Cajun and Creole dining outside of Bayou country. When coupled with our friendly service, we offer an unmatched dining experience to the greater Edmonton area. Our jambalaya, crab cakes, and our special gumbos are sure to please anybody—whether they’ve been to the Big Easy or are newcomers to Cajun dining. All our meals, from sauces and desserts to our entrées, are made in house from the finest ingredients to guarantee our menu items are always something to be proud of. We offer a range of dishes and specials that are perfect for lunch, dinner, and dessert, and our meals can be customized to dietary restrictions, such as celiac disease.
Atmosphere and food was good. It’s great the menu offers petite sizes, but be prepared for an automatic 18% gratuity added on to your bill.
My favorite restaurant period. Lots of interesting stuff on the menu and each new dish I try is my new favorite. We have been going to the Cajun House since we moved to St Albert in 1989. It still is a great restaurant 35 years later. Their Seafood Jambalaya and Steak Jefferson are my old favorites.
The food was so good, we were a very big group of ladies and the service was great. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. Sweet potato (harvest) soup WOW And the pear/ginger halibut with rice and veggies oh so good. This was a seasonal item but this place never disappoints when it comes to the food and service. Parking though!!! Need more parking.
I really wanted to give this place a good review. The highlight was the seafood gumbo which I would rate a 10/10. Full of flavor and seafood. Unfortunately the rest of the meal was extremely disappointing. 44 dollars for some microwaved frozen veggies, a single bland potato, and a small piece of fish with some pie filling poured on top of it. I had the seasonal halibut dish and it was nothing I couldn't easily make myself at home. Did not have any spice or flavor whatsoever. My wife had the snapper and while it had a bit more flavor than my dish it had the same embarrassing sides. You can't be charging those kind of prices for that quality of food and expect people to be returning customers. Our server was very friendly and nice. Food didn't come out fast but it wasn't slow either. The restaurant feels a bit dated and I think would benefit with some updates but I think this place should focus on enhancing it's food first. Sadly I don't think I will ever come back, but if I was forced to I would stick with a cheap bowl of gumbo. 5/10
I found this place by searching “Restaurants in st.albert” the Cajun House showed up in Trip advisor's 10 Ten Places.. so looking at the menu and the images on their Facebook we decided to try it out! We came from an hour away (Pigeon Lake) and boy this place did not disappoint! When you walk in they have awards hanging by the Reception area, the dining area has large windows and is very clean! The waitress never let our drinks get to the bottom and constantly topping up. She was knowledgeable in her recommendations. My husband had the jambalaya and I had a season special which was the maple pork tenderloin, we shared the Alligator Sausage and the pumpkin cheesecake! All I can say is this place is amazing!!!! And overall exceeded every expectation!
Oh my goodness, why didn't I find this place sooner! My hubby and I were in the area running an errand and decided to try The Cajun House. It was a Friday evening around 7:00 p.m. and we didn't have any reservations but we went in thinking the worst thing that could happen was being turned away. We were pleasantly surprised as we were seated without having to wait. The Cajun House did not disappoint! We are big fans of Cajun food. Each dish we ordered was delicious and the portions were great! We started with a cup of seafood gumbo each and shared the seafood jambalaya and the petite portion of the Steak Jefferson. It was very nice of our server to bring extra plates for sharing. The best part of our meal was the seafood gumbo! Each spoonful was packed with seafood and rice. The gumbo is the perfect blend of flavors and spice. The staff were super friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was great. The dress code is pretty casual as we were wearing hoodies and athletic pants. Highly recommend everyone to try the Cajun House. We'll be back for more!
My wife and I had a great time here! We had the Steak Jefferson and Chicken Jackson, as well as Potato Skins and Frog Legs. We finished the meal off with the Mud Pie. The menu was well planned out, and the food was delicious. However, I do wish something more could be done about the rice and vegetable sides. They are lacking in flavour and take away from the quality of the overall dish. That being said, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere felt cozy and romantic after the sun went down. Definitely recommend eating here at least once!
One of my favorite places to go to for any occasion. Good food that’s always made fresh with the right amount of flavors to satisfy everyone. The servers go above and beyond to make sure everything is at your liking. The best part of the visit was the dessert. It’s a must try with family or friends 👍🏻👍🏻
Food is great, the server was really sweet and nice. I didn t get her name but we went there on Tuesday at 2:00pm. Atmosphere was okay but the restaurant looked kinda dingy.
Extremely disappointed in the food. Ordered the 10 oz Ribeye. Asked for Blue rare. It was medium at best, it had no flavour, and it looked and felt like they tenderized it. This looked more like a skirt steak than a Ribeye. My wifes chicken pasta dish also was very bland. I had their signature cheesecake for dessert. It was ok but way overpriced in my opinion. My wife had their pecan pie and some of the pecans were rancid! I will not be coming back.
Beautiful restaurant!! Great experience with a friend Highy recomended!! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options Parking: Just a lil to find a spot Kid-friendliness: Seemed very kid friendly
Food couldve been better.
Had a reservation for this restaurant. They placed us in a terrible table right by the door. When we wanted to move to one of the many other open tables, we were told that they were all reserved. We left and wont go back. I dont care if the food is good. The service is atrocious.
This restaurant never disappoints. Food was delicious, service top drawer. Have been going there for 25 years
This was my first time at the Cajun House and I really enjoyed it. Good portion sizes, delicious food, and I love that theres petite options for sharing too. I cant wait to go back and try some other menu items.
Good food, large portions, clean restaurant, dark moody lighting.
Having a decent Cajun place local to you is the key to happiness. This place is decent. The drinks were extremely good and the service was exceptional. It was very tough to decide what to eat as the menu has a lot of great choices. We went with the Alligator Boudin and Steamboat potato skins to start. Both were very tasty. Then the Chicken Jackson and Louisiana Jambalaya. The Jambalaya was packed with meat, lots of flavor and the Chicken Jackson is a must try. The location is a bit odd, looks like an office building. The parking situation can be tight and there is a lovely view of a pile driver collecting dust across the road, not their fault, believe the city is to blame for that one. Either way recommend trying this place at least once.
Food was mediocre and very expensive (44$ for Jambalaya was the highest, most ~30$), but service was excellent, dessert was good, and server was very helpful with dietary restrictions.
We have visited St. Albert and always eat at the Cajun house for the last 30 years! Never disappoints! Delicious food and great service.
Showed up 20 mins before close and the 5 of us were told, We close in 20 minutes. If you don t want to serve until your posted hours, close earlier. We won t be back.
Wow. A group of friends met here and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the time together. I cant criticize a single element of the experience, from service to food. Cheers.
Unfortunetly this place did not hit the southern spot. I am from the south and the food here was bland and tasteless. Lack of understanding what real jambalaya should be. It should not be dry and the chicken was overcooked and rubbery. This is not real cajun food.
Had the Jambalaya, good size portion for its price
This poor place has started to slip. Went on a Tuesday, maybe thats why the service was poor. But even the food isnt like what it used to be. Not sure whats needed but Ive been here twice in the last year and have been disappointed each time.
Great service, delicious food, highly recommended!
Excellent food and great service in cozy surroundings
First time here. It was amazing! Delicious food... I had the Chicken Monroe. Great service and nice atmosphere. I will come back again some day!
Service was great and food is always good. The shrimp appetizer always hits the mark!
Delightful and a long time local fav. Dietary restrictions: Nice gluten free jambalaya Food : 5/5 |
Love this restaurant forever Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp at front of building Recommended dishes Bread Pudding, Pecan Chicken
Excellent service and food. Highly recommend.
One of the most expensive worst meals I have ever eaten. The seafood was harder and more rubbery than any I have ever eaten.
Went for the first time, it sure won t be the last. The gumbo was simply insanely delicious, the best gumbo I have ever tasted. Everyone in our group was happy with their food order and the experience!!
This was our first visit to the Cajun House, and I have to say it was a great experience. The food and service here is wonderful. Very friendly staff that are welcome giving their recommendations and being honest is wonderful. We will definitely revisit this restaurant.
Service and food was excellent! Party of 6 and everything was great!
I have been to the Cajun House many, many times. And it doesnt ever disappoint. Great service and amazing food. Go eat their.
I never get anything but Steak Jefferson
Good atmosphere, reasonable price, varied selection
Excellent service, great atmosphere, food was good. Kinda wanted some heat in it and there were tons of hot sauces at the door, but nothing offered at the table. Veggies tasted a tad off, fish was excellent, chicken was excellent, shrimp were good, drinks were excellent, pasta was OK.
Great prices, great service, great food
Great food, generous portions - we will definitely be back!
Great food, good service, good place to have a conversation, jambalaya and desserts are top notch
Very tasty, will definitely be back to try some more, service was great, kid friendly with kids menus,
Just consistently delicious
Went there for lunch Had the seafood jambalaya 1st off the dish looked beautiful, but lets be honest for the price it wasnt worth it, it was bland, more rice than anything, should of included a crab leg instead of 2 claws that had very little meat.the light above our table had cobwebs and was a thick dust, was told that it builds up fast which shows that theres no attention to detail as they should be ontop of that, service was 10/10 .
Simply the best restaurant around. Unreal food, served by great people in a warm, cozy atmosphere. None better.
Always a joy comning here service is top notch and same with the food
Atmosphere was nice. Service was good. All 4 entrees we ordered was really good. We all enjoyed our choices. The prices were great! We will definitely come back Entrees best price I ve seen in a long time. Vegetarian options: There was a tasty sounding option but had the Salmon Dietary restrictions: 2 of us were gluten free and they had several options that they modify Parking: Lots of spots for the dinner time. We were all adults but I m sure they are family & kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp
Excellent service, good prices.
Great Cajun cooking.. flavorful, fresh. Great rooms for large groups set apart from the rest of the restaurant
Been going to this place for years, as its my moms favorite! Food is always good. Just wish the menu would change up a little bit! Staff are always spectacular! Definitely recommend
Attentive staff , cheerful, sunlit place! The food was fresh! Obviously cared for and prepared wonderfully by chef(s).
Welcome to New Orleans great service, amazing Cajun food...large portions.
Best restaurant in St Albert
Stopped in for supper And after being greeted and sat at a table we watched as the waitress seated, took orders and served other customers who arrived after we did. Had to get her attention to have her re- visit our table where we ordered drinks and placed our orders at the same time to eliminate the fear of being left sitting again. Steak sandwich was the thinnest, toughest piece of meat I have seen in a long time. Asked for medium but this was cooked to a crisp. Actually reminded me of a steak that was cooked the day before and heated up and served. If an 1/4 inch thick I d be surprised . Other plates were under whelming with far from fresh seafood being served. Rubber shrimp. The place was popular with a lot of customers but I can t say as to why. Parking: Road construction made ingress and egress difficult. Not the restaurants fault however.
Wow! This restaurant is fantastic. I was there with a large group and everyone loved their meals. The food is very flavourful, served hot (amazing since we were a group of 20) and generous portions. It is also great for folks who want a smaller portion as some entrees come in petite size (1/2 portion). I had the pasta jambalaya and would highly recommend it. It was flavourful and not hot spicy. There are lots of entrees to choose that arent spicy if you are worried about going to a cajun restaurant and dont like spicy. The cheesecake was incredible....wrapped in filo pastry and served warm. OMG! The service was so good....very attentive. I cant say enough about this restaurant. Will certainly be returning.
Excellent night out - certainly booking an event there
Strate Parking: Not to many spots Food : 4/5 |
Great place to eat. Reasonable prices and good food. I would recommend it.
Good food and service, not the most exciting and the prices were a little high for what you get
Amazing authentic food we also had frog legs and were delicious Wheelchair accessibility: Has an accessible ramp Food : 5/5 |
First time visit. Excellent in all aspects: food, service and atmosphere! Will definitely go again when we are in St. Albert.
Awesome environment and food with friendly staff and good service.
Did here is always good. Its so nice to get some variety from our usual fare. Jambalaya and fish is always good. Oh, and their liquor prices are good. Fair anyway.
This place is a little hidden gem! Great and quick service, absolutely delicious food and decently priced!
Great food and personable pleasant staff. Enjoyed
First time here and will be back. Tasty food with wonderful service.
Amazing food, great service and overall highly recommended place to go for a meal. They live up to the name as you can certainly get the food that matches the name Cajun. Food
A gem of a restaurant with a unique menu, expert chef and great service.
Food and service is always great, starter of coconut shrimp is a must try, like that you can order half size portion, leaves room for desert, pecan pie or banana indulgence are delicious. Also have a kids menu which is great.
First time here. Great ambience and service. Food was just okay. Simple attention to detail like overcooked veggies and potatoes. Alligator sausage appetizer was delicious! Dessert was really good (Mississippi Mud Pie ). Will still go back since such a large menu and want to try some other things .
Always great.
The food was was so bad that I never finished what they call steak for the first time. My wife stopped after a few bites and go the rest to go. And the waitress did not give a sh.. Never coming back.
Just hosted an anniversary party at Cajun House and I can t say enough about how amazing, accommodating and efficient this staff is!! They really go above and beyond and I wouldnt hesitate to have another event here or recommend to others. Food was excellent, space was comfortable and Crystal, Diane and team made it wonderful!
The inside is quite nice, updated. Wonderful service Food was fresh but quite bland & felt...dated. Glad we went to try Food : 3/5 |
This was my second visit to this restaurant, and it was as great as the first. Food was amazing and prices are very reasonable considering the quality. Will be visiting again for sure. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and they have a few options for that
Delicious! Staff are welcoming and give prompt service. Thanks for a very enjoyable dinner!
Stopped by for a quick official lunch meeting and boy was I surprised. From the decor to the food and service, everything was above expectation. Definitely coming back for more !
Had a wonderful time for my brothers 60th. The food was amazing. This was my 2nd time to enjoy The Cajun House and I will definitely be back. Very special place
Food was definitely ample, serving size wise. Service was good and efficient. The flavours just seemed lacking in something, maybe just some salt, not sure.... But it was not bad, just ..... Lacking.
Yummmm
First time going there, wasn t disappointed. Excellent food, excellent service, great home cooking looking forward to our next visit. Ample portions, as much as we wanted to couldn t even have dessert.
Had a dinner to celebrate my daughters birthday. The food, drinks and service were superb as we have come to expect.
My favourite in St Albert. Delicious food and excellent service. Been many times and I have never had a disappointing meal, every time the food has been piping hot and absolutely delicious. I love you can get a petite or regular portion. My current favourite is the pecan chicken. Fantastic place.
Great food
Food was amazing. Our server was fantastic. Highly recommend
Never been disappointed in our menu choices.
Amy served my small party and we had a lovely evening, will definitely be back!
Picked it up for takeout tonight, it was just as delicious as if we ate in the restaurant! The food was hot, fresh, and packed properly.
The Cajun House makes the best jumbo ! Really miss the blackened Catfish :(
Always the best at every celebration, or special occasion they never disappoint! Lovely decore, wonderful staff and amazing food! ....have you met their banana indulgence?!?
Good lunch experience
Good food and services.
Food was great! Service could have been a bit more attentive (did not come by at all after serving to check in) and decor is a bit dated but hey...food was great!
Best Creole food I ve tasted for years! Nice atmosphere and great staff! Tons of food, and everything tasted authentic. Will be returning!
Stopped in mid afternoon after a chilly walk for a hot beverage and dessert. We were asked if we had a reservation, to which we replied no. No reservation??? the server said...I looked into the restaurant to see it was empty save one table in the corner with a couple of people at it. She managed to find us a seat. I ordered Earl Grey tea & dessert. When the tea came, it was Cream of Earl Grey, which is much different than the plain Earl Grey as it has flowers and vanilla added to it which gives it a very perfume-like taste and smell. I asked if they had any regular Earl Grey, to which our server replied this is what they serve for Earl Grey and in 20 years no one has ever complained. I left the tea sitting on the table as no other option was offered. She wasnt finished making her point however, and a few minutes later brought the tin of tea to the table to show me the tea, including the blue flowers in it. Which was my point, but that seemed irrelevant. She turned the tin when I tried to look at the label on the front, but it didnt matter as I already knew what it said. A small issue in the big picture, but it cost them two customers as we wont be returning. It easily could have been dealt with in a much better way, and there are a number of good St. Albert restaurants with better service.
Great food, love the different jambalaya dishes
Excellent food and atmosphere, been sometime since I have been here. But greatly reminded that I should come back more often
My first time eating in a full service restaurant since the pandemic. What a treat. The service was great and the food was delicious, authentic Cajun. I had the vegetarian jumbulia which was served piping hot.
Been going here for many years. Never been disappointed or anything less than delighted! The Cajun House is extremely consistent and always over and above your expectations! I cant even recommend 1 thing over any others because everything Ive ever tasted is absolutely delicious! However I have only experienced 1 dessert here. I do get the Bread pudding almost every time I visit & it never disappoints. I also love that they offer petite portions(perfect for keeping room for dessert!) Definitely recommend The Cajun House!
The pecan chicken and steak Jefferson are great.
The food os absolutely delicious and servic is delightful! A must visit restaurant!
Great environment, staff and food. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend.
We were rushed out after a mediocre, overpriced meal. I made a reservation for 6:30, and before wed even finished our entrees, the server came out with a dessert menu and said the kitchen was closing. We did order dessert and were shortly after kicked out because it was past closing time (at 8pm!) I am pregnant and drank 4 glasses of water and the bathrooms were locked when we finished our meal. The food was fine but not worthy of the price. The coconut shrimp was flavorless, the steaks were overcooked and too salty, and the vegetables tasted like a frozen medley.
With a memorable dining experience this is a wonderful place for family to feel a rapport.
My first visit to this restaurant. Mid week lunch break. I ordered the Chicken Po-Boy - with spinach peppered pecan salad. The sandwich was delicious, and the salad also was very tasty. The service was excellent, very friendly server and prompt service. A wise choice to share a dessert, we chose Banana Indulgence generous serving, a large portion with enough sweetness for 2 people. Thanks Cajun House! See you next time I m in St. Albert!
Wow I got to say, great food, my father wanted to lick the plate it was so good
Nothing like having a good time when I am out & about.
We had a table for 7. Our server was very efficient and friendly. Food at Cajun House is delicious with 2 sizes. I had a delicious flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Yum!
Have been eating here for years and it never disappoints.
Delightful dining experience
Amazing food, lots of choices, great service all at a reasonable price. Looking forward to going again soon.
incredible place, good service, unreal food, good price. I will make this a regular stop when I go back to Etown for sure
The Steak Jefferson is amazing! The Chicken Monroe is also very tasty. Pretty expensive, but worth a special treat. The staff and service is also outstanding.
Had our daughters wedding reception here in the separate side room. Fabulous to deal with from start to finish. Great food. Great price. Great service. Loved the intimate setting.
Brought my wife for dinner got the steak they where the size of a pan steak for 50 dollars pasta had zero flavor steak sandwich was tough as nails fries where good and mussels where good everything else tasted bland and gross
The food here was so so bad. None of it was seasoned. I felt like I was eating hospital food. The steak was not the cuts we ordered, just cheap small cuts with a high price. One was completely inedible, hard, and dry with absolutely no seasoning not even salt. It was supposed.to be a new york steak snd it was thinner thsn my finger. The other was supposed to be a medallion and was just a Fatty chunk of meat covered in tasteless gravy. I wouldnt expect more than 10 dollars per plate here for the quality of the food received and were priced in the high 30s low 40s! This was the first time Id been able to go out for dinner in about a year and a half and I was absolutely devastated at what we were served. Dry pasta noodles with no seasoning. Steamed frozen veggies with no flavor no seasoning at all, not even butter. The mussels were actually good for the appy so we definitely expected a higher quality of food for the main. Very disappointed. Please dont waste your money here and leave as upset as we were to be gouged for tasteless hospital grade food.
Incredible food and service.
Very tasty and a great atmosphere!
Pricey, but worth it. Food is great. Service is fantastic.
While the food and the server we very good the person in our group who was celiac and the method to show them the nongluten food was basically to point and say this one, this one and this one. In this day in age having a simple printed laminated piece of paper shouldnt be hard to allow someone in this position to have a better experience
Always Great food Love their Mimosa Salad. Ive been going there for 40 years
Yesterday I ordered Louisiana jambalaya it definitely was not prepared the Louisiana style only 3 pieces of sausage no shrimp no liquid i should has refused it but I didnt want to make a scene and when I asked the waitress to take my complaint to the chef she ANSWERED NO I WONT
Food was excellent and waitresss were friendly and helpful. Food was fresh cooked and hot.
Exemplary service, AMAZING Food and servings were heaping!!!
We have been to the Cajun House a few times and thus I was surprised I have not done a review of this restaurant. My son had the Chicken & Sausage Gumbo which was nice and hot, temperature-wise, and reasonable spicy. I tried it and we both enjoyed it. For the main meal, my son had the Filet Mignon Ya-Ya which is described as broiled twin medallions of beef tenderloin which is served on a red current, port demi-glace sauce. My son said it was OK , but also above average quality. It is probably just not the type of steak we are used to having for supper. I had the Breaded Veal Panne, which was veal escalopes, served with pasta tossed with basil cream sauce. To me, the sauce needed to be a bit more of it since the pasta soaked up most of it. The veal had little taste and when I asked my son; it surprised him since he thought it tasted like chicken, not veal. It was nice but not a lot of taste. All in all, it was a good meal. The Gumbo was the best part of the meal. The service was great. She was attentive and answered all our questions. We found it cold, we mentioned it to her, and she was able to increase the heat to make it palatable. Yes we would go back.
Wasnt rushed was a good dinning experience, we enjoyed what we got. Overall I enjoyed the whole experience
Last-minute reservation tonight and no regrets! As always, the meal and the service was great! The filet was fantastic!
Food is always delicious
Take-out was just as delicious and beautiful as dining in!
A staple in St.Albert! Reasonably priced and super consistent. I love the seafood or chicken and sausage gumbo!
Blackened Cajun steak with pasta, so good!
Delicious, quality food. Atmosphere makes you feel like youre somewhere special. The decor isnt fancy, but the restaurant is intimate - not just some modern chain restaurant. Staff are helpful and friendly.
Great service. Pleasant experience
Just like I expected, classic cajun, I order the same thing all the time, jambalaya. The deserts are fine, love bread pudding. Service is always A+, even when they close in half an hour! Wish they stayed open an extra hour, thats the only negative. Great place to bring out of town company.
New food to me tasted great small portions dessert especially tantalizing.
By far mine and my families favourite place to eat at in St. Albert. The place is cozy, food delicious, and servers have been there for so long!
Previously gave 4 stars a few years ago. We used to love their po boys, especially the oyster po boy. Unfortunately it has taken a big turn for the worse. Tasteless oysters and very mediocre sandwich overall nowadays. Please bring back the flavour and quality...
Great food as always, very generous portions, all round good experience in Covid times nice to know you can still get a terrific dinner, albeit as take-out only these days.
Stopped in for the mother-in-laws pandemic birthday dinner for the first time. Delicious delicate seafood with a touch of heat was perfect. Special catfish of the day cooked to perfection, jambalaya was deliciously seasoned and handsomely garnished with proteins. Cajun prawns were cooked to a succulent juiciness. Oyster po boys were pleasantly juice and satisfying. Only problem is that hours later we are still feeling stuffed after lunch.... and thats the perfect type of problem to have.
We have been coming here for at least 28 years. Our most favourite restaurant ever. Food is delicious. Servers are so nice and friendly.
Excellent food, definitely worth going back
Best Restaurant in St. Albert hands down!!
The food was delicious, friendly waiter! The Gombo is to die for. The food was also fast and fresh. The only thing I d say that needs improvement is their sliced bread that came with the smoked salmon appetizer ( it didn t taste fresh). But overall nice ambiance and wonderful service! I ll visit again!
Service was excellent as well as the coconut shrimp. The seafood jambalaya was made with frozen vegetables instead of fresh which was disappointing. The mimosa salad was underwhelming and the chicken wasnt fresh (served cold). The chowder also tasted like it was made with canned corn. Not a whole lot tasted fresh unfortunately.
Great food.. great 0staff
Great service. Great food. Huge portions. Everything was very fresh
First time my mom and I went there we were stunned. The interior design captivated me, and the idea of them selling their spices and sauces triggered my impulsive spending habits. Thankfully for every time Ive been there Im broke as my mom always covers the bill. The food on the other hand is also amazing. I always get their Pecan chicken because its to die for. Ill probably try their coconut shrimp one day.
The food here is fantastic! The staff are so helpful and friendly. I highly recommend visiting Cajun House for their seafood gumbo!
Always a great place for dinner. Exceptional service.
Ive had better quality food for the price. The service is spectacular and the atmosphere is inviting.
First time to the Cajun house. Totally empty at the time we came, mid afternoon. I ordered the combo plate which had Louisiana Jambalaya, shrimp Creole, beans and sausage. Everything was was excellent except the sauce that the shrimp was in. Ive never had Creole sauce before, smell like yummy tomatoes but tastes nasty. The shrimp that was in the sauce were very excellent however. Lost a star for the sauce.
Louisiana Jambalaya is yummy! (Minus the red sauce). Plus the Mango crush cocktail is very good!
Cajun House is awesome. Ive never had a bad meal there...
Had the Pecan Chicken and it was great.
First time going here in years, ordered shrimp soup, seafood gumbo & mussels to start. Then we were asked to move, because the video we had been watching on our phone was too loud apparently, as they moved us another server comments (without knowing whats going on) by rudely telling me I cant bring my drink with me as she blocked us off from our server so we couldnt continueto follow her... Next our soups show up, the film on top so thick you can lift it off with your finger, soup wasnt even luke warm, they also brought out the mussels, half cooked. When we asked about this we are told Thats how their supposed to be We left after that, the peach drink I had was good but not worth the experience. Wont be going back.
Great food and service! The warmed cheesecake in phylo was super Yum!
The staff here were super accommodating to our needs. They let us pay when our food arrived so we could leave at our leisure, as we were running a little late to a theatre showing. The server was super friendly and cheerful. Very respectable. They checked in on us just enough. Give those servers a wage boost! Food wise, I was expecting a really strong spice component. It was a little mild? But I think thats good for a majority of people XD. Im just a more spicey person lol. The dishes we seasoned will just not aggressively as you normally imagine cajun food. Scallops were cooked super crispy! Most of the seafood component was well cooked and not rubbery at all. So good on the chefs! I also had frogs legs for the first time! It was very mild not what I was expecting meat wise.
Weve had the food here twice and it is always done top notch! Ive been to Louisiana multiple times and the food is so so close to the real thing! If you cant be in the south, its the next best thing!
5 stars simply not enough to rate this restaurant, the food is never a disappointment no matter what is ordered and their specialty menus like the Harvest one recently offered makes it very hard to decide on which dish to order. The staff are very professional and friendly its always a pleasure to feel so welcome when you arrive.
Came for St. Alberts Dig In Dining week. Incredible 3 course meal. Had the roasted sweet potato soup, maple melt-in-your-mouth pork tenderloin and THE most amazing maple pumpkin cheesecake!! I mean A MA ZING! You can tell the owner/chef takes much pride in what he serves to his customers. First time tried this place, but will be back to see what they have on other days. Nice calm place to sit and talk. Great friendly service.
Awesome food
Always have a lovely meal here. Welcoming staff and nice atmosphere.
Loved their fresh oyster! A little bit expensive resto in downtown St. Albert but its worth it! A New Orleans feels!
Great service, good sea food, flavorful dishes
Absolutely fantastic everytime. If you think Louisiana purchase is good then youve obviously never been to Cajun House. Been coming here for years and after having tried Louisiana Purchase, I will continue coming here. Seasonal menus at Cajun house are always special and very well done. Cant say enough good things, see you soon.
Excellent service and food.
Loved the coconut shrimp a d the vegetarian jambalaya... we had a great window seat and the service was very good. Food came hot!
The chicken and sausage gumbo is amazing and so are the Shrimp Po Boys! And if you want a super fantastic dessert try the deep fried cheesecake! Its a taste of Heaven
Most authentic cajun food Ive had in Canada, without a single doubt.
