The Ridge Social Eatery in St. Albert

Food all tasted like it was pre-prepared frozen meals, and therefore was bland and underwhelming. Some people in our party were served rancid salsa on their plate. Very disappointing

It had been awhile since we had been to The Ridge. Food and service was good. We enjoyed our meal and drinks.

place has a lot of potential but atmosphere just isn t right.. employees all just seem uninterested and quick to take an order but never check up on how your doing or how your meal tastes. They continue to keep serving the some old boring soup and music can become too loud at times or way too quite.. is there no equal middle ? Maybe they should take customers Suggestions and Complaints a little more serious. Vegetarian options: 1 Parking: 6

Ordered takeout through Uber eats and was very impressed with the food! The burger was tasty and the food was fresh. Will definitely be coming back!

Great little dine in spot! Great beer choices and their crab cakes were very well prepared and delicious! Their nacho plates are also perfectly crafted as well! Worth every dollar!

Steak was horrible and I returned it uneaten and told them it lacked any taste was not offered to replace or a discount paid full amt. The entertainment was great but I would never recommend going there for food.

Absolutely terrible service. We gave it a shot after again after their opening a few years back, and it was somehow even worse. We waited 25 minutes to be sat on a 2/3rds empty patio, then an hour for a burger and fish and chips. We barely saw our server at all, and the food was brought out by another server working indoors as we were walking out of the restaurant. We came back to sit to try it, and the burger was bland. Fish was burnt to a crisp, as were the fries. Our original server finally showed up 10-15minutes later when we were done eating what was edible to ask us how it tasted, and we asked for our bill. The only kudos I can give is to whoever the other server was on the patio, I wish we had her. She was extremmely attentive to her 5+ tables while we watched and waited for ours to materialize rarely for her 2. Not coming back for another shot, the donair shop down the strip is 100000% more bang for your buck and patronage.

Keenan was the best server we have ever had here, hands down! Normally we are waiting a long time for drinks etc The professionalism and attentiveness was unmatched. They knew the menu well and were absolutely working the room. Dropping things off and bussing other tables right after. Next time we will definitely make sure we are in their section.

Underrated little gem on the west side of St. Albert. The burger I had was delicious and this is a must try spot. Didnt do it but a great deal on bring your own wine and free corkage on a Thursday night I believe.

Had lunch here today, the fryers needed a cleaning fish and chips were very oily and dark the chicken sandwich was soggy not crispy. The cocktails were ok not $14 quality. Service was meh the waitress was nice. I probably won t be back but if I lived in St Albert I would enjoy the view and patio at happy hour. Overall way too expensive for what was served.

Food and service an atmosphere was wonderful. I needed a little more Doritos with my Kirks nachos. They gave me more Doritos I was very happy.

To start, the service was extremely slow, giving that it was not even busy when we were there. We got our appetizer before we even got our drinks. The Caesars tasted watered down and had zero flavor. The nachos are made with dorritos, so it was expected for them to get soggy fast, however the ratio of meat to pico de gallo was way off! Definitely needed more pico. They were not nearly as good as they sounded on the menu. The french dip was dry and flavorless, could not taste the horseradish at all. The smoked meat sandwich was terrible, bread was soggy and gross, there was hardly and sauce and totally bland. Neither sandwiches has any flavor, I had one bite out of my smoked meat sandwich and brought it to the attention of our server. She discounted the meal only 50% after we waited what felt like forever to even get any service. I will add that the clam chowder soup was very good and the only thing we enjoyed. I also want to note this resturant ripped off the name of a local pub in edmonton that has been in business for over 25 years and some menu items, very questionable. Anyways overall experience was extremely disappointing and a complete waste of $77.

Three hours to order two drinks, two appetizers a coffee and a dessert to share. Food arrived cold and the wrong type of taco even though we clarified four times with the waitress. Not impressed at all.

I honestly have no idea if the food is good here, because after an hour of waiting for our food on a Thursday night and being told their was still at least 20 more minutes to wait, we finally just left. It was a disappointing experience because I had heard good things about the restaurant and decided that for my birthday dinner I wanted to try something different and support a smaller local restaurant. Well, I wish we had just went to Earls in the first place because they had our meals to us within 20 minutes of walking in. It was likely just a super rough night for them, but Im not sure Ill be back because the service was bad and the atmosphere wasnt super impressive either.

Reservation on Father s Day for 12:30. At 1:30 we had to ask for our still undelivered food to go. I ordered waffles and when got home realized I was given uncooked French toast. Horrible experience in a restaurant that wasn t even full. An hour for 2 people to get food and then had to take it home was very disappointing. 2 other tables left as well with no food.

Service was slow getting beverages, had to remind waitress that we ordered food, and didnt get order right. Wont be back!

The food was ok. Wasnt super impressed with the waitress though. She seemed really grouchy when we first walked in , didnt smile but she decided to change her attitude halfway through our meal, and my mom was angry with a rude comment she made about me ordering the Montreal smoked meat sandwich that only men order that. She didnt offer to refill coffee either :( She changed her attitude halfway through our dining experience though so who knows maybe she was having a bad day, Ill give her the benefit of the doubt :) Id maybe try the restaurant a second time again and see if there was something better on the menu.

Its always a delight to grab a cold beverage and good eats here. Youre guaranteed great service and a smile. Wing night and Saturday night steak night are very good and wallet friendly! Kid-friendliness: Grandkids love steak night here.

I write this with the hopes that this establishment does well, but at the same time, I get to keep it a secret. My wife had an allergy, and not only did the kitchen go above and beyond by prepping the meal on a separate surface, but the manager personally delivered the meal to ensure all was well. Inviting atmosphere and staff, cant wait to get back.

First time eating here and loved outdoor patio. Server was friendly and helpful . Food was ok. I had shrimp tacos and shrimp teriyaki. Would recommend this gem I found in St. Albert.

I have been to this place a few times and always enjoyed the food and service. Most recently, there was a miscommunication about reservation time between myself and the hostess on Mothers Day and the restaurant went above and beyond to ensure that we were able to get our table. Greatly appreciated.

Meal : Philly smoked meat sandwich non toasted or grilled , cheap marble rye bread . Tiny slather of hot mustard in the middle of the bread , meat pilled dead Center for looks . Fries . Sub par bar food . No flavour or condiment effort to make a tasty signature sandwich . Not sure why it s on the menu.

Recently had a large birthday party of 50 people here. Billy, Steph and the team made it an amazing experience! From planning to execution every detail was looked after. Service was friendly and prompt and food was delicious. From a big party to a date night I highly recommend this venue!

Fantastic place for a pint with friends or good food on a fun date night; I have also rented the venue for a few work social functions. All of the servers have been absolutely wonderful and friendly. Myself and about 10 friends and couples have frequented the Ridge since it s opening because of how fantastic the staff, atmosphere and food are. I wanted to leave a review as I saw a recent review by Curtis Stevenson a few days ago. I also wanted to advise that his review is a wildly misleading depiction of the events. I know this first hand as I was present inside at the bar with friends. He was the only person sitting on the patio and was in the restaurant for maybe 15 minutes maximum. When he left the patio when his food came out was clearly ignorant which caught our eye. He stated that his plans changed. We asked the server what his problem was and he had said it took too long, this was absolutely not the case. This was nothing more than someone who either wanted to complain about something or his plans really did change and he didn t want pay for the food he ordered. I am posting this as I am tired of people like this posting negative things about good businesses because they don t believe in consequences for their own actions. (You ordered the food, pay for it). Also the other false information in the review was that he frequents The Ridge Wednesday s and Friday s. I can absolutely tell you that is not the case for two reasons. 1) I would have to imagine that you would have known the server s name as she works the days that you mentioned that you come. 2) None of us knew who he was and we are actually here on Wednesdays and Fridays. This is why we asked the server what the problem was when he abrasively left. I by no means speak for the restaurant, however the comment of I will never be back to this place is okay with us regulars that enjoy the friendly atmosphere.

Planned my wifes birthday with the help of billy and steph they made the event perfect At a very reasonable price. They brought in my wifes favorite wine. Everyone really enjoyed the appetizers which were plentiful and tasty. There were fifty five people in attendance and the age range was varied. Regardless of the age everyone had a great time. We would not hesitate to have another event there or just go for dinner.

Been here a couple of times to meet a friend to watch hockey. I had a rice bowl the first time and it was very nice. The last time I had the sirloin steak. I asked for medium rare and thats what I got. Whew! The Cajun fries were not Cajun at all. My buddy had the garlic fries and they were delicious. Both times we had different servers, but both of them were very attentive and friendly.

Was in there last night.Food was tasty but overpriced for what you get. Our server with really long ginger hair seemed to have more interest in flirting with the older gentleman at another table than giving service to all her tables. Sat with some empty drinks and didnt even come check on our food.

Went for Thursday taco spacial. We had the fish tacos, tofu tacos and beer sliders. It was all delicious. Our server was really friendly and the owner helped deliver our food. Would highly reccomend. Vegetarian options: Tofu tacos

The service was great. It has vegetarian offerings that can be tweaked to make vegan. I had a veggie flat bread, no cheese. It was very tasty. It arrived cut into 8 pieces. Very generous. We were planning to sit on the outside on the patio but the day we arrived the weather was cold so we ate inside in a booth. Our server was very accommodating and allowed s to have a leisurely lunch.

Food was good but way overpriced for what you get, owner definately has never run a restaurant before just by watching him, looks like all he is in it for us the money, there is no closing hour, says 11pm but people still being served food past that, happen the staff get paid overtime, I can think of a dozen other places to go with a better atmosphere and friendliness from the staff and owner, seems more like a sweat shop being run by a dictator

Great Nashville Chicken sandwich

The smoked meat sandwich I had was juicy and delicious. Service was slow and we had to ask multiple times for our water to be filled.

Went here for lunch with a friend. The service was great, drinks and food excellent (fish tacos). We sat outside on the patio, the views are really nice. A wee bit pricey, but I will go back again.

This restaurant is located in the heart of St. Albert, easy to access and plentiful parking available. It has quick and polite service, and I enjoyed dining outside. The drinks and tacos I had were absolutely delicious(so delicious I nearly forgot to take a picture). The menu has a wide variety of options, and there were so many drinks I wanted to try. A truly wonderful spot, Im so glad I tried it! 10/10 highly recommend.

The server took our drink order and we waited 15 minutes to get it. How long does it take to pour a beer and mix a margarita?! The place was almost empty when we arrived. When the server finally returned with the drinks she got the order wrong and came with a margarita and a daiquiri. We waited another 5 minutes for the beer. For food I ordered nachos and my friend ordered tacos. We waited another 20 minutes. What came was a plate of Doritos sprinkled with mushy ground beef drizzled with something on top. On the side was cheese sauce. The Doritos kept breaking and crumbling. What a mess both to eat and to handle. If I had wanted Doritos I d have stayed home and saved myself the cost and the clean up. As for atmosphere there really isn t any. We won t be back.

This is my first and last time coming to the ridge. The manager who was working honestly couldn t be more rude. The staff doesn t understand customer service at all but I assume that s what happens with poor management. A few words I d use to describe the servers are miserable, rude and no care about the customer. It s dead on a Sunday and 4 people on the floor just standing around talking I wouldn t recommend coming in for lack of words I have no idea how this place has 5 stars. If you want to have to go order your own drinks and get up to even be acknowledged save yourself the time and avoid this place if you can. Definitely won t ever be coming back or recommending this place to anyone. I had the chicken fingers which came burnt fries were cooked good but no seasoning, my partner had the beef dip and said it was good.

The Ridge exceeded our expectations. We used them for a study club in St.albert and they did a fantastic job. Billy was kind enough to deliver the food himself! The Food was incredible and We will be using them again!

After spending upto $40.00 honestly was left very disappointed and left hungry. Ordered the dirty nachos and there was hardly anything for beef on them. For 18 dollars this is absolutely insulting and a very expensive bag of doritos. I would have brought it up if it werent for the fact of the slow service that evening. Will not be eating here again as its not worth the drive or the money.

We thought enjoyed our evening! Aniston was wonderful. Her interactions with us was comfortable. The fish tacos were delicious. One star was lost for the steak being under cooked.

I do not have one negative thing to say about this restaurant. We have visited 4 times now and everything we have tried, that comes out of the kitchen, is just delicious. This is a nice little hidden gem on the edge of St. Albert. I did think of one negative thing, the delicious humus appetizer is only available during the summer, for fall/winter you have to settle for an even more delicious spinach dip (is that negative, maybe not). And...they have a fantastic little patio that is dog friendly. You need to give this place a try...seriously! Tims 2cents.

Cod was tender and flaky, the beets were a nice addition to the included fresh veggies. Everything combined with the roasted potatoes cubes to provide a very satisfying meal . Will definitely be going back to check out some of their other menu offerings. Parking: The restaurant is in a plaza, so ample parking available.

My family tried The Ridge for the first time and loved it! Our take-out was prepared quickly, and tasted amazing. We will definitely be back for more.

So... I went to the ridge... and this is how it went. The only reason it got 2 stars is because the server was really nice. The egg salad sandwich was WAY TOO Salty.... you get 60% lettuce, 20% egg salad, and 20% bread. The burgers are frozen patties and mine was either freezer burnt or overcooked... the soup was okay, small for what you pay for. The beer in the can was good . I orders a Tom Collins and it was made with lime juice not lemon and it came with a lime wheel not a lemon.... the bubbles in the aperal spritz isnt good at all, had a horrible after taste... my 10 year old kid liked the hot wings but he was the only person out of four who liked their meal. It was expensive for what we got, the quality of the food, the portion of food, and the quality of the drinks. I wont be back.

A cautionary tale to future patrons and heads up to the restaurant owner to be mindful of proper and safe cooking practices, or lack thereof, which seem to be happening in their kitchen. we ordered a chicken sandwich and it was not cooked and quite raw. I ll Post an image once goggle let s me. Salmonella is not something to be taken lightly and I d be concerned what other subpar standards are happening in your kitchen. Needless to say, we will not order from this establishment again.

Great service and atmosphere.

We shared the dirty Nachos (yes, thats the name of them) and salt & pepper wings. We were less than impressed with the processed cheese that was used on the nachos and they came out cold and little to no flavor. Definitely not worth the price of $15 we paid. Also, the wings were not what we expected for salt & pepper. Again, not much flavor and very pricy at $19 for a pound. I asked for a bottled domestic beer and was only offered draft beer. We also found the place very noisy with terrible acoustics. Sorry, but probably will not be back.

Great atmosphere, food was awesome. Especially the mushroom dip. Halley and Brooklyn were both personable and made the experience that much better. Highly recommend!

Good food, drink and very friendly staff

We were a party of 12 for lunch. Meg was our server and explained what was on tap and suggested that we get a taster prior on ordering just to make sure we liked our choices. We eventually ordered our food, Meg was quick to make recommendations to our orders. The restaurant is bright and airy. The mens room was particularly nice. Our food orders arrived and the bartender lent a hand getting all of the plates out, to their correct spot. I ordered the fish and chips, which was most tasty. I heard other members of our party as well make mention that the food was tasty. As we were a large party, 18% gratuity was already added to our bills. Meg made sure to let us know that, prior to paying. Thanks for a most enjoyable dining experience.

Service *very* slow. Like, an hour to get our entrees. Menu is nothing special, garlic fries were good though. They were also playing ABBA on loop which was weird

Had a wonderful lunch at the ridge. Food and service was very good. Beautiful inside with a quiet patio. The menu is diverse and well thought out with several GFoptions. Would recommend for any st.albert local but it would be a treat to stop in if youre just passing through.

Ordered on skip and am severely disappointed. Portions are super small we spend $60 on a pathetic excuse for a turkey club. It had 2 pieces of bread instead of 3 and was more mayonnaise than turkey. The $9 fry appetizer did not taste like Rosemary or garlic and was the size of a medium McDonalds fry. The $16 mini sliders were okay and definitely not worth the price tag. The garlic aioli was just mayonnaise. Aioli is supposed to be pureed garlic by definition. Just disappointing. IMO save your money and go somewhere were the food at least tastes good for half the price. Never again.

Love this new local joint. The food is great, the atmosphere is cool casual and the service is excellent. We enjoy having a restaurant that we can walk to in our neighborhood. The food is on par with OJs and Earls and the cocktails are new and delicious. My husband loves that they have Aprikat on tap. We will be back many times. Tonight we enjoyed the fish & chips, the prawn and beet salad along with a few Aprikats (obviously) and some Spiked Lemonades and a Paloma . The view is nice, and other than the occasional loud vehicle, the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing.

It was very nice. I had the Emerald Salad with shrimp and hubby, the fish & chips. Both dishes very good. Good service with friendly people. Will definitely go again.

Theyve got some kinks to work out with the menu - our celiac friend was a bit misled by their gluten free taco shell option for the fish tacos as there was no option for gluten free fish! The staff were so good about it though. Will definitely be returning!

Cool place!

This was our second time at the ridge. The food was great. Husband had the ridge burger & I had the quesadilla. Burger was great. My quesadilla was a little greasy, however I won t give up on this place. Go check it out I m sure you won t be disappointed.

Friendly staff, but the food is over priced for what you get

I had a wonderful lunch here out on the patio. I ordered the lamb sliders and was not disappointed. While lamb burgers are interesting enough in themselves, I found that the accompanying condiments of caramelized onions, goat cheese, and dill mayo made those little burgers sublime. It is this artistic attention to detail that turn a good experience into a great one. Not only was the meal one of the best I ve had in St. Albert, but the service was equally good. Our server Hailey was not only prompt, accurate, and attentive, but she was also a good conversationalist who showed that she really cared about the people she served. Well done.

We all enjoyed the food here very much! We sat on the shady patio and were served by Hayley she was great, very friendly and attentive. I had the fish and chips and they were really good, a very large piece so unless you are starved you wont need a second piece. The fries, tartar sauce and malt vinegar were all delicious but the coleslaw was just ok, not creamy enough for my taste. My wife had the fish/shrimp tacos and she really enjoyed them, particularly the mango salsa. Our friend had the chicken tacos and she said they were delicious, we all intend to come back often, highly recommend this restaurant.

Was pretty good, service was excellent. Food was very good. Clean place, I found it very noisy and hard to hear . Also the sun was glaring in on top windows facing west, there should be blinds. Service made up for any other complaints

This was my first time trying The Ridge. There is quite a bit of space in there plus a very nice patio. Good variety. Very nice people working there. Service was perfect! Quick, very polite and attentive. We both had the eggs benny. Done to absolute perfection! Beautiful flavour and very high quality ingredients. They have a lobster fest coming up and they have some happy hours specials that look good too. Looking forward to going here again soon.

Had a enjoyable time. The service was good. Place clean. It s a modern style place so not a lot of booths. The fish tacos were delicious with a western style mango salsa. The burger was a traditional social house quality. It didn t stand out from the rest of the pack but was still good. I will return.

Food tasted great, prices were good, service was amazing! The environment is very warming and welcoming and the interior decor and styling is very well done! I highly recommend checking this place out!

Okay place to eat at, great cause its close to home. Wish the happy hour menu had more low carb options.

Not at ALL impressed with Managements attitude when someone in our party brought forward a small issue that should have been easily resolved. Prices are high, selection not the greatest. They also confused two people s orders.
