This bar is currently open tonight (12/20) after an AHS closure. Dont get food poisoning, dont get any drinks with ice!

Food was below average at best, not fully cooked or severely over cooked. Service was good based on the volume of people, not the servers fault for being left alone on a planned dinner by management, however overall service left much to be desired based on being the only people in the restaurant again not the servers fault. A planned organized event, confirmed with the restaurant ahead of time and nothing went right.

Staying open after being closed by albert health services. GROSS

Worst service and food..found a big bone in chicken tacos. Took to long for drinks. Will never come back... Didnt even get a response from establishment.. this place wont survive with this type of service

Great pub. Large selection of beer. Found the smoked chicken wings to be dry, so I would try the crispy baked wings next time.

Food is amazing, service was great, but they have live music and unless you want to be ear-assaulted by your alcoholic day drinking uncle at 2pm in the afternoon while being unable to hear the person sitting directly across the table from you, dont go on a Sunday.

Inexperienced staff, long wait times for food that isn t all that great, and empty tables everywhere. I do not recommend this place.

The food took over an hour to come out and was overcooked when we got it. The server only checked on us 3 times during the hour wait.

Ive been delaying posting because first I will say our lovely little server gal was fantastic. And the owner-lady was nice enough at the end when she helped clear the table. But one of the staff (maybe owner? Older man) very frequently went out the front door for smoke break, but wouldnt even wait to even open the door before lighting his smoke. Whoever was responsible for loading the non alcoholic beverages to the cooler didnt advise our server the non alcoholics were JUST put in so werent cold. Got our food - the poorman burnt ends were basically seasoned charcoal pieces. I ordered the chicken club and my two sides were supposed to be fries and kettle chips. Our server wasnt advised the kitchen ran out of kettle chips and they arbitrarily just gave me two orders of fries. The side of gravy was already so congealed I couldnt even poke my finger through. This was supposed to be my 40th birthday dinner, and were it not for having good friends and a good server, the night would have been dismal. I am confident in saying I very likely will not attend this facility again.

Sadly gave 1 start to food and atmosphere, because the service is the worst I ever experienced (I m still waiting after 45 min and counting. I went to Midas to get my oil change done, I mention to the guys there. If the have cable to watch a game they say no, so I said well if you, guys are taking about 2 hrs to get my car done I might go to have a beer somewhere, he gave me 3 $5.00 cards from this eatery so I say: sweet! Came sat down and literally still waiting to someone at least to acknowledge me lol. 46 min and haven t even see what s on the menu since the waitress just pass by lol never again!

Good food at reasonable prices. Had the pulled pork noon special ($15) which included a big, delicious bowl of mushroom soup.

I liked the atmosphere. We ordered 2 brisket sandwich meals nd one dirty chicken sandwich. Fries were ice cold, the special sauce is mayo not like it stated on the menu. If your serving mayo say mayo..not your special blend sauce.. The brisket, well we had too look for the meat on the little bun. Not a good value for what they serve. Plus the wrong sandwich with the wrong sides. Not a big deal but added to the total experience. For 96 bucks.. First and last time we go. Sorry.

Just stopped in for a quick lunch. It was half-price pizza day. Pizza was good, service was fast and friendly. All round, an enjoyable place.

Waited 25 mins for drinks that never came. All the girls were on their phones and not even busy. We said we were leaving because we had been waiting too long and she said no worries and walked away Carried on looking at her phone with the other servers. I came in the day. I left a review. 3 servers one bartender, bar had 3 tables, server didn t seem to have much experience. Didn t ask us at all how we were doing until our drinks were empty. And who in there right mind would pay 19.00 for a deep fried pepperoni? No wonder this place always seems dead. Prices are insane

The waitress was great ! The burger was good , the ribs were super tough and we were un able to the eat them! We were still charged for the sides but oh well. The house beer was pretty good as well. Atmosphere was great with the trivia game.

The food was below average, my food was cold. The drinks were terrible, the waitress didn t even know how to make the drinks we wanted that was on the menu. There was only another couple besides us in the restaurant and service was slow. The waitress had shorts on that you would see someone wear in a nightclub and not in a restaurant. I will never go back again.

Food here was excellent. (Were coming back Thursday for pizza) Auraura was FANTASTIC. Hell the whole staff were GREAT. If another server was walking by and noticed something was empty they asked if we needed a refill or cleared the empty dishes. HIGHLY recommended the meat platter for 2. Nice sample of each. Coconut cornbread isnt as weird as you would think ( I HATE coconut) and mac n cheese was excellent.

Waited 2 hours for our food. Nachos came with little to no cheese. Salads came with missing or wrong ingredients. Owners present in the restaurant and never offered up any apologies or discussion Food

The Thirsty Rooster A Dry Experience I recently dined at The Thirsty Rooster, and unfortunately, my experience left me parched for quality and satisfaction. Despite its rustic charm, the evening was a series of disappointments that left me frustrated and hungry. Long Wait for Food - The wait for our food was excruciatingly long. It took nearly 1 hour for our food to arrive. For a restaurant with thirsty in its name, they sure know how to test your patience. Bad Plating - When the food finally arrived (meat sampler), the dish lacked any sense of creativity or finesse, appearing hastily assembled and sloppy. The coleslaw was scattered like feed, and there was no sauce to go with the dry meat. The style of the plate (look and colour) was unappetizing. Dry Meat - The most disappointing aspect was the quality of the smoked meat. I was expecting something succulent and tender. Instead, I was served dry, overcooked pieces of meat that was tough to chew. The smoke flavour was good but the meat was so very dry. It seemed the only thing thirstier than the rooster was my meat sampler. Small Portions - Adding insult to injury, the portions were surprisingly small. For the prices charged, one would expect generous servings and or high quality delivered. Instead, i was left feeling hungry and unsatisfied, as if we had been pecking at scraps. The Thirsty Rooster left me dry and dissatisfied. The long wait for food, poor plating, dry meat and small portions made for a thoroughly disappointing dining experience. For the high prices charged, one expects a level of quality and service that was glaringly absent. I cannot recommend this restaurant if youre looking for a place to quench your thirst for good food and service, youll need to look elsewhere.

Reviews were very misleading! Fish & Chips were poor! Definitely not cod and doubtfully not haddock. Overdone, dried out and the order took an hour to be served. We ordered two and got one with two pieces of fish. Never again.

We met a good friend from out of town for lunch today and I have never written a review for a restaurant before but I have to say our service was terrible. We got our food and drinks quickly, but her attitude was awful. She seemed annoyed and was very curt with us and took away my food as I said I was going to have another bite. It was very evident she did not want to be there and she treated us like an inconvenience. Again, delicious lunch but the service definitely soured our experience there.

Great food and great atmosphere but the star of the show was our server kyle he was amazing. Hes by far the best server i have had in years and made our experience unforgettable.

Bacon on the potato skins were abundant but hard as a rock. Tasted liked they had got rid of the scraps in the pan.

Well the red head waitress was obviously not having a good day. The rolling of the eyes was my first hint. The sarcasm was the next - good thing they changed waitresses. The wings were great! But we ordered Jack Daniel wings and when red head came to bring our order she said Irish whisky wings so we said not ours. She came out again and we said what we ordered and sarcasm again like we don t know what we are talking about. Oh the board said 1/2 price appetizers and got home realizing we paid full price. Not a great experience in house but again wings were great !

Strange visit. Went for a quick supper before the game. Lady who served us was nice, but seemed off a bit. My wife loved the fish and chips on a previous visit, but this time it was over done and way too much batter. Ordered one piece, got two. Took over 40 minutes for the order. Lady came back after and said she wasnt a waitress, just helping. Huh? Always guys at the bar sitting and walking around, then going behind the bar and helping themselves to drinks. Kinda strange. Other waitresses great, my pizza was good too. Mixed feelings on this establishment.

Went out with another couple for drinks and appies. Drinks were good. We ordered calamari, deep fried pickles, pretzel and the smokehouse platter. Deep fried pickle portions was good but the other 3 appies had the worst portion size we ve ever had. Taste was good, not great but for $18 for a little over a dozen calamari bites and $35 for the smokehouse platter that would barely suit a single guys appetite is ridiculous. Won t be back. Second time there and the same thing both times. Too bad because it is a nice looking pub.

Had to wait 45 minutes for appetizer. I ordered fried chicken, the chicken was so raw it was still bleeding asked for pulled pork to replace it and received a brisket. Ill start by saying that the service was really great and the atmosphere is decent. Unfortunately, the food was not. My husbands soup was not only cold with a skin on top but was too salty to eat. My Ceasar wrap was disappointing, and the gravy was way too salty as well. Also, the drink menu is not updated, so the wine I thought I ordered was not the wine I got.

Thirsty Rooster is my go-to place for Oiler games, local live music, smoked wings and occasional meetings. Great beer selection, too. New add-ons with Polar Park beer, too. Looking forward to the upgraded menu!

The food was excellent, the brisket unreal. All of the smoke Meats a perfect delectable taste for a 10 out of 10. Overall didnt have the best service but the food made up for it. Vegetarian options: We ordered a Halal plate which was covered with delicious veggies hummus and dip. Dietary restrictions: I am celiac, and the Smoked Meats were perfectly fine.

A guy pushed me, I told the bouncers didn t do anything. 6 people could vouch for me on this, saw the same guy spit into a guys face twice bouncers didn t kick them out. Waitresses are nice understanding but goodness, need new management or bouncers I don t know but a horrible experience overall. Been here before management was great before I m not sure what happend.

Was attracted by the interesting name so stopped in to check it out. Wasps soon as we walked in we were pleasantly surprised to discover that this was a BBQ restaurant! Many good beers on tap, the house lager is excellent. Tried the platter, chose the brisket and the smoked turkey and it was amazing! Huge, thickly cut and lean brisket that is one of the best Ive ever had. Not many places offer turkey for some reason but the smoked turkey was perfectly done and delicious as well. Had poutine with this huge meal and it exceeded expectations, Service is always good and the staff is always very helpful. Many other options on the menu that I plan on trying out also. Highly recommend this for anyone traveling in or through St. Albert

I had lunch at the Thirsty Rooster yesterday with my son. The service there is by far the best in St Albert. I have been there numerous times and All the staff are amazing weather you go in during the day or at night. The food is by far the best in St Albert. Thank you for always giving me the best experience. I will definitely Be going there on a regular bases.

My wife and I just popped in for a quick lunch today. We both ordered from the daily feature platter. Food tasted great and was plated on butcher block platters. Overall it was decent experience until we got the bill. We were both very surprised to see that we had been charged for pop refills. I am surprised that this establishment feels the need to charge an additional $4.25 for each glass of fountain pop. You got the transaction but will not get return business. If that is your policy then may I suggest more transparency when a customer orders. Updated The manager/owner reached out to us to let us know that the server had made an error. They have gone out of there to more than make up for unintentional mistake. We will definitely give this location another chance.

Food is amazing, never had a bad experience with the food but the service needs drastic improvement. Weve been here twice now, first time our waitress was cold and very unfriendly and the second time we waited over an hour for 4 tacos and in that hour our waitress didnt check on us and we had no drinks for over half the time.

Second time coming to thirsty rooster, although a couple hiccups our first time through. Our second time was much nicer, the brisket was so tender you didnt need a knife. The staff was really good with my wifes celiac allergy, even promoting future menu items opening up even more options for our next visit. Always a nice treat when places have gluten free fryers. We had good food but it wasnt what we came for. Unfortunately they were out of a lot of thing and this seems to be a common trend. Server was good, very polite, a little to quick to grab a drink when ordered.... Which is nice except when 3 others havent been able to say what they wanted.

Came to try their smoked brisket but they were out for the platters. Ordered brisket tacos and brisket sandwich both had good flavors and meat were moist. Fries (with my daughters kids meal) were not fresh as it was cold and a bit soggy. They also ran out of onion rings. Service was great, server was attentive and friendly. Will come back next time to try their other BBQ

Great bar! Lots of fun here with friends, food is excellent and the drinks are really good. Last few visits have been on Sundays and they often seem short staffed those nights so service can be pretty slow. Otherwise it s a fantastic bar, if I lived closer I d visit way more often!

Smoked hot wings are a must have best i ever had very good experience good service shrimp taco are very tasty lots of flavors. It is worth the drive.

From the moment we stepped into the room on our way to the patio, we were greeted with a loud welcome to the table service in which we asked for an extra plate to accommodate our friend with severe tremors in his hand, all the way to include the so tender smoked brisket in a delicious sandwich. There was a mistake in the order with one of our meals and they recovered so professionally. Great experience from beginning to end. Well be back. Oh, yea, and thanks for supporting live music and local businesses.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch and were absolutely impressed. The food was top notch, came quickly and was nicely presented. We really appreciate the quality of the service as well, the fellow at the bar, who we later learned was the general manager, greeted us pleasantly and checked in on us while we are. Food is mid, not much meat in the brisket sandwich. Had a brisket sandwich at the farmers market nearly three times the size. Didn t really have much flavour.

Our table had a party of 12 and we had top notch service from our server, Lanny. She was friendly, efficient and always on top with our refills. We had complimentary desert provided which was a nice touch/suprise. Thank you Thirsty Rooster and Lanny for making our gals nights special.

For the quality of food and service I wish I could give more stars this was one of the best experiences Ive had at a restaurant in a very long time. The staff is incredibly friendly the food is amazing and the place is kept in a very nice condition the only one downside id have to give it is the volume of the music was incredibly loud couldnt even have a conversation with someone 2 seats away. Aside from that it was an amazing time.

Food was okay but the pizza crust seemed a little undercooked and arrived cold. The pretzel was super dry. The burger and fries were good as was the jalapeño cheese dip.

We have visited this establishment 5 times now and the food is always on point. Not all of the BBQ sauces are to our liking but that is a personal preference the food is still delicious. The service seems to be a hit or miss. I dont know if they are understaffed, poorly trained, maintaining oversized sections or easily distracted but more often than not the service is slow so give yourself extra time...but the food is worth the wait. Being a music lover I do have to mention the awesome soundtrack mix that is played is well curated and makes the wait for service and the food more enjoyable. Tims 2cents.

Eh, at least I got my pretzel I ordered. And the cactus cut fries I got the 2nd time around were saltier than hell too. Appreacite you guys trying to make it up.... Waitress forgot to put my order in and waited a half hr expecting to eat something that sounded absolutely delicious. And honestly, that left a bad taste in my mouth that I wont be back anytime soon.

Honest eh, food is average cost is on par with the pourssion size. Spent a night at a themed night of western music is a bit loud and its live music over the tracks which to be honest would be better. Food was order had fries and honest the arrived after friend order nachos and a full pizza so not really organized kitchen. Average place tho for a bite to eat and maybe to catch a game.

Talk about good food smokehouse platter, amazing ambiance and great service.Definitely one of the best food places I have been to.In the summer it s even better. Parking: Good number of parking spots both back and front.

Came here for brunch and they gave us a good amount of food for the price! Atmosphere and service was decent!

We had a staff Christmas party in their private room. It was marvelous. The food was amazing, and the service was top-notch. It was an affordable way to have a really good outing for 15 people. Highly recommend, and we will be back next year! Vegetarian options: We have 2 vegetarians on staff. There were many options for them.

Great food, service, and all around atmosphere. Staff is very engaging, and friendly. The food is awesome, especially the fish & chips.

I had a major allergic reaction to something a patron brought in from OUTSIDE the restaurant and they were so quick to respond and Micheal (?) the manager was so helpful. They made me feel safe in what was a very vulnerable situation. The owner also made sure my guests were okay, and they were just wonderful. They also remade my meal so I had one guaranteed to be free of possible allergens to eat at home and FYI- the burgers are fantastic! Thank you for a memorable birthday LOL

Food was great, shrimp tacos were delicious, fries are bomb. Service was excellent!
