Smoked chicken wings here are the best in town.

Our group has been going to Rombys to use their golf simulator for a while now but service has been terrible, to a point when a server comes in and tells our group if were not happy to leave. So that is what we will do and take our business elsewhere. If your going to have a simulator, then you should staff the restaurant so you have someone actually serving beverages in that area. Very poor service and we wont be back.

Umm everything about this place is great! The Wolverine sauce for wings is just sooooo licking your fingers good. And the Ranchos nachos somehow just compliment them. I try to replicate those nachos and still cant. They season the chips they drizzle a BBQ sauce on it. Uhh so good. Friendly staff and great service and clean and just walk in friendly vibe. Went there for my birthday and my husbands. Thank you for being open !!

Terrible food... This is not a real smoke house...the day service is great the afternoon and night service is terrible. The Raven haired bar tender has a bad attitude and terrible reputation.. I will never return to this pub. I was refused service and when I asked why they couldnt give me a straight answer. I live 150m from this place and will never spend 1 cent in this place.. I would love to speak with the manager but instead I just walked out. I was just there to have drinks. Not anymore.. FYI this is not a real smoke house..

Inconspicuous shop from the outside. After entering you will be warmly welcomed and served. Attentive staff. I was there for the brisket.

Stopped in after a shopping trip with my daughter. Smells amazing like smoked bbq. Wings were great. My daughter had a burger. She really enjoyed it. Cant wait to go back to try more things and check out the golf simulator thats attached to the restaurant.

We should have known when the place was dead upon entry. The server (also the bartender) was borderline rude. He told us the full menu was available despite arriving later in the evening. After deciding what to eat, he arrived at the table and told us there was no wings, cauliflower or the daily specials available. We left and went elsewhere. Never again

Had the honey sriracha wings late at night when everywhere elses kitchen was closed and i have to say they were some of the best i have ever had from toronto to niagara falls. Highly recommend

My boyfriend and I decided on going to Rombeys for our date night. We didnt know it was Music Trivia night, but we decided to give it a try. It was so much fun, the people were great and the food was amazing as well. Definitely coming back :)

Came across this place by accident when we were desperate to settle down somewhere for dinner after visiting the falls (which was crazy busy with zero space) I called and even though they didnt take reservations, they still saved a spot for us. Amazing staff and fantastic live music. Food tasted good too, a little burned and came late, but understandable. I think it was only two people working there that night and it was very busy. They were still nice despite the business.

Stopped for dinner while visiting st Catherines. Food was great. Loved the hang over burger and the wolverine smoked wings. The band was great. The atmosphere was lively.

Went in with 2 of my children & my granddaughters; food was terrible & the service was despicable to say the least. We tried to complain (as you have the right too do) and it turned into an older Blonde waitress coming too our table to argue & be incredibly unprofessionally rude and then to a drunk olderman PUSHING my son who was holding a baby out the doors and locking them! They even had my 7 yr old granddaughter in tears.I am in shock that there are ANY good reviews here.

Romby s has exceeded all of my expectations for what a fine established pub should be. From the outstanding caring service and excellent top tier food to the fantastic environment created for families whilst maintaining a great pub for those who like a good pint, fun time and a live music! No one can compete with their fries, poutine and their house made smoked burgers! I could say more but go try it yourself !!!

The food is mediocre bar fare, but our server, let s call her Karen, was a miserable size 12 millennial; after asking what beer was on tap, she got all pissy and turned around the cocktail menu with all the beer on the other side of it, so I had to do her job for her, She swiftly and angrily told me it wasn t her job to read me the beer choices on tap, and stormed off, definitely a new one for me. Never coming back here,

We really enjoy the Tuesday trivia nights with Lisa! It s a lot of fun. The food is good, limited selection of drinks but prices are good! They have daily deals and a small outdoor seating section too.

All food is smoked, great flavour. Outside appearance is deceiving, pub atmosphere. Service is great, friendly and fast. Food is great, fries werent my cup of tea, a cross between undercooked and overcooked. Burgers were homemade, which was great. Prices were great, very affordable. Only 4 stars because of the fries, but thats just my opinion of them others might love them, dont use my taste preferences as a deterant, definitely a great find.

2 of the 3 meals were a flop. Pulled pork was AWESOME!! The burger was very over cooked, the lobster roll was disappointing and the fries were weird. Felt like they were sitting around, oil was dirty so they were very dark, not salted. Cheap prices, the server was working his best to keep up with all the people in there. He was actually very impressive. If we went back, wed try more of the smoked food in hopes it was as good as the pulled pork.

Rombys is a very clean, professional, and friendly establishment and has reasonably priced delicious food. Plenty of parking. We had a non-profit meeting, placing our order well in advance of pickup. Two apple turkey wraps with fries, shrimp appetizer, beet/goat-cheese/walnuts salad. Everything was ready on pickup and still steaming before handing everyone at the meeting down the street. The food was top-notch for colour and presentation.

Stopped in here on my birthday march 20th it was a Wednesday so they had their special on bacon cheese burger and fries for 8 dollars but you have to purchase a drink What a good deal though, the burger was homemade and tasted great nice brioche bun and the fries hand cut, grabbed smoked wings as well for my fiancée and myself they were hot juicy and delicious! Atmosphere not the greatest but that s just because I don t like bars. But food was excellent and our server was good. Definitely recommend especially for the Wednesday special

Came in with my group of friends, all of us 20+ years old. One of the female servers continuously harassed my friend for 3+ pieces of ID to verify identity. Drivers license, heath card, debit card and student ID. ALL THE SAME NAME AND LOOK ALIKES. No wonder the crowd is 50+, absolutely insane. Surprised they didn t ask for social insurance number. It was my friends birthday and we decided to come here to celebrate. It was also another friends first time here. Taste wise food was great, unfortunately one of our meals came ice cold. When brought to the attention of the server the response was, what do you want me to do its busy. Never offered to replace, nor did they clean off our table. We did it ourselves to give us room to talk. To say the least we were very disappointed.

Had high hopes about service.we had a great greeting and our drinks arrived quickly. We ordered our food and it went downhill from there. Tables coming in after us were getting their food. I inquired and our server checked on it and gave an excuse that the problem was in the ordering system. I have managed restaurants for about 30 years before I retired and I found it different to accept that excuse. The food arrived about 30 minutes after I inquired and then you have to add on an additional 40 minutes to that from the time we ordered. So our meal of two orders of chicken wings and a wrap took over an hour. And the order was partially wrong. No discount offered, so I paid and this review is the result. If the server had explained her mistake and even offered to compliment the order that came out wrong I would be posting a positive review since we all make mistakes.

We couldnt get in to another nearby restaurant cause was too busy...and the birthday group who knew about Rombys decided to move us all over there. It wasnt busy. Which is crazy because their food was out of this world. AND they have a stage and were hosting a band later in the evening. Not many restaurants support musicians and live music, yay them! The staff was friendly and kind and went out of their way to accommodate our two tables, to make sure our birthday group could be together. // The fries were fabulous...they had to have been home cut. The turkey wrap was smokey and amazing and it wasnt till later we realized they are also called ....a Smokehouse. Amazingly good. Everyone was happy with what they ordered and prices were very decent. I feel like its a hidden gem....except I guess locals and lots of others know about it...so is a nice find for us from over here in Vineland! :) Vegetarian options: I was very happy to see Vegetarian options on the menue. Parking: The parking lot was easy to access and across from a Petro Canada where I was able to fill up, in desperate need of gas.

Loud, sticky tables, average food. Ordered loaded potato skins; was expecting more than cheese and almost non-existent bacon dust. Had to ask for sour cream and search for server when needed. We experienced both excellent service and an incredible taste of burgers visiting such a nice tavern with a friendly and cozy atmosphere! We ordered a signature Romby s burger and Hangover burger with fried egg, and they both were so delicious, from nice grilled buns, crispy bacon, and tasty sauce, to fantastic patty from top agnus meat! Ones of the most mouthwatering burgers that I tried in both Europe and the Americas were served in less than 15 minutes. That was salvation for us as hungry travellers! We express our deepest gratitude to the owners of Romby s for that experience, and promise to visit their awesome tavern while travelling next time nearby!

Excellent place to be social with friends

Was a regular customer of this place. Placed an order 20 minutes ahead of time, and was told would be ready within 20 minutes. When I arrived, I payed and tipped an extra 5$(Clear mistake). Ordered a Pulled Pork Sandwich (No slaw and a poutine) (25$ with tip). My food wasn t ready when it said it was supposed to be and I waited an additional 10-15 minutes. Once I got home I realized they just gave me regular fries. Even though I paid for a poutine. I called and was only offered a free poutine upgrade the next time I ordered, after waiting for my order and tipping 5$ for takeout, this is all I was offered. I ve always gotten take out from this place and have always tipped. They don t value their customers.

Was in town on a work trip and I m very glad I came here instead of the other food giants in the area. Wings were nice and smoky, and the pulled pork sandwich was amazing!! The fries were fresh cut fries and the gravy was the perfect amount. Will be coming back when I m town again

Wow, knew nothing about this place. Coming back from Niagara on the Lake my daughter wanted poutine. Found this place online so took a chance and stopped. Service was Great. Atmosphere was very nice. Food was delicious, big servings and great prices. Definitely recommend. We had Lobster roll, pulled pork, Caesars salad, poutine, and nachos. All very good.

As it was our 1st time in Canada, we wanted to experience local establishments away from the tourist areas & charges. The service by Marcus was good, albeit he was taken aback when I asked what Poutine was!! It seemed popular with families, the menu catered for all ages. There are tables outside but due to the weather we eat inside.

really enjoyed Rombys! Smoked wings did not tasted smoked at all they tasted just like they were deep fried. I smoke myself so i was kinda of disappoint in overall smokey flavours. However food was still tasty and my family all enjoyed their meals. The prices were fair and the beer was crisp and clean tasting.

We havent been disappointed since it became a regular for us . Weve had most of the menu and most recently had the lobster roll (Sat special) it was amazing! The food is delicious. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere feels homey. I highly recommend it!

Horrible place the bartender was so rude and ignorant, we asked to listen to music at half time and she said no we could go to another bar...... then we asked to talk to the manager and then Emilia asked us to leave n dont come back!!! Like seriously the place was a dump anyway and I would never step foot back in there again even if you paid me... the bartender Emilia was sloppy ignorant and rude... Wow!!! just wow I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone ever oh the bartenders name was Emilia!!! How embarrassing for the owner to have someone like this representing your establishment! Rombys is an awesome local bar. The food is made in house and delicious. The bartenders are second to none. Amelia, Audrey, Keenan, Wad, Susie and Amy are FANTASTIC. I hear the day time bartenders are just as great. You ll never be disappointed here.

Pretty disappointed in this place. Heard it was good, walked in as a party of 10. Employee came up to us and theres a table of 6 available.. asks us how many and when we stated party of 10, instead of giving us a wait time or something, we got a not a chance, goodbye and he was so incredibly rude about it. I understand we were a walk in but we were willing to wait. I guess the establishment doesnt want to make money off the food and alcohol for a party of 10! Ratings based solely on customer service or lack of.

First time trying this place out and boy was it good! Once you pass the doorway you are greeted with that wood burning smell. The menu has enough choices to make almost anyone smile. We ordered the smoked chicken wings (highly recommend) and the pepperoni pizza rolls (hand made goodness) If I could give this place a 6/5 I would!!! Google didn t let me ; ((

Had read a few reviews prior to going and it sounded promising. Upon arrival our group was skeptical but kept an open mind given the rave reviews. We were NOT remotely disappointed!! Small interior, welcoming staff, exceptional food reasonably priced. We were a group of 4 and all tried different items. I had the brisket with horseradish mayo on a baguette and fresh cut fries i was mad I had to share because it was a symphony for my taste buds!! I tried my hubby s pulled pork..it was moist and flavourful and I was hard pressed to be disappointed with our exchange of half each. Both meals were hearty, well presented and exceptionally good. Our friend had the smoked turkey and was equally impressed although I myself could not comment as I did not try. If in the area this is a must try! We will definitely be back and cant wait to tell all our friends.

If you are a person of color and would like to have a racist experience, you should definitely try this place out. A friend and I visited this establishment and werent even acknowledged when we entered the door. We stood around for 10 minutes until we just took an empty table. We had to search for a server and ask for our table to be cleared. It was cleared, but never wiped. We just sat there at a dirty table. Still, no one came to ask what we wanted. We had to approach the bar ourselves to request a menu. We then had to stop the server who kept passing and ignoring us. She told us she was not serving tables (although we watched her bring food and drinks to multiple tables) and said we had to order for ourselves at the bar. The last straw was when we told her we would like to order from the menu and she responded with well, what do you want? Umm.. maybe to be treated with respect.. and a glass of water would have been nice! Lets just say this place is not welcoming unless you look like the majority of its patrons. Its 2022. Do better, people.

Romby s has one of the best menus for quality of food and pricing that I ve seen in St.Catharines. The service was great for how busy it was and I d definitely return for more drinks and to try more!
