64 Court St, St. Catharines, ON L2R 4S2, Canada
A peculiar little bistro; breakfast, some lunch, mostly brunch. Weather dependant patio & indoor seating & takeaway xoxo
Very satisfied! The service was thoughtful and attentive. The lobster Florentine Benedict was even better than I imagined. I left the restaurant in a great mood and will definitely come back!
Best poached eggs I’ve ever had! If you enjoy a tasty breakfast, and want to treat yourself, Bistro Mirepoix is the place to go! Although it’s expensive for breakfast, the culinary experience is worth it! Unfortunately, we were seated at a dirty table which still wasn’t fully cleared when we were seated although the restaurant wasn’t full. Otherwise, would recommend if you’re in the area.
What a wonderful hidden gem! Had the delicious coffee and salmon avocado benedict. I’ll definitely be back! Such friendly service and so quaint here.
Had my birthday meal here and had a chat with the owner who I find to be very passionate about their food. Couldn't find a better brunch menu in the entirety of Ontario, this is a must go place I understand the rules on seating can be polarising to some but understand this is a small business y'all. This is not McDs or any chain that can afford to lose money on non paying occupants
Bistro Mirepoix is a truly wonderful spot for brunch in St. Catherine’s. We’ve been a few times now since moving here and always left very satisfied with a belly full of goodness. In this last visit brunch for four people was $150 including the tips. Now this might seem a bit pricy, but when you consider the flavour of the plate, the freshness of the ingredients, and the big portion sizes (you could seriously eat one half and save the other for tomorrow), the price represents a tremendous value. I had the classic breakfast. The yolks have deep colour so know they are well-sourced, the sausage patty perfect, the PORK BELLY - oh my… and that sourdough bread was a perfect finish. The service is nice, never a rush even though there are people waiting for a table. Really friendly too.
Just excellent all around. Service was amazing. The food was delicious, creative and the portions huge. Great coffee. Order the pork belly, even if as a side to share.
Friendly service, beautiful atmosphere that reminded me of a small French bistro or restaurant in Amsterdam. The food is hands down delicious - flavors and texture of the pork belly Benedict is to die for! I haven’t had brunch this tasty since I last went to Toronto. I will definitely come back again to try different dishes on the menu!
One of the Top 5 breakfast restaurants I have ever experienced. Food was amazingly fresh, even the honey wheat bread was made there. Owners are to passionate and engaged. F'N Delicious 😋
Delicious food! This place is a gem
Great food and great service every time :)
Cozy diner in downtown St.Catharines with a variety of unique breakfast and brunch items. It doesnt look great from the outside, but inside it can be quite busy, and both food and service are excellent.
Mirepoix is a must in terms of breakfast experiences! While unassuming from the exterior, it really is a gastronomic gem! We both had the classic breakfast , which is far above what you would expect when ordering a dish with such a common name. From the pork belly to the fresh micro-greens, everything was obviously well thought out!. We definitely will be back next time we re in St. Catherine s!
Im not one to make a review, but I felt compelled to do so for this absolutely stunning Bistro. When ever Im in st.Catharines I intend to come back. Keep doing what you are doing.
Impressive Delicious Professional Recommended Food : 5/5 |
Excellent food and service
my favourite place to go for brunch/ not so typical breakfast options. I have tried a few different things and everything is always fresh and great. I like the relaxed atmosphere. The owners are great and very nice and personable!
This place includes a $25 seating fee for *anyone* and doesnt do substitutions. It s not a welcoming place or one demonstrating Canadian hospitality by any means. So much fine print to read we didnt even get to that part until we had already sat down. We chose to just walk away, and they seemed glad we left.
Outside of this restaurant looks like a house, and it seems to be on a residential street next to a market. Don t park across the street, apparently they tow (and there s a warning on the menu). Food was delicious, fresh, and our whole family enjoyed it.
Best brunch and excellent service!
A little quirky cafe that serves phenomenal food. Well worth brunch. Highly recommend the mushroom eggs bene. Great portion sizes and the sourdough is delish.
Mmmmm pork belly! Service is awesome.
Very unfortunate experience. The food quality was average. Were with two kids and it could have been mentioned that the waiting time would be an hour to get sunny side up eggs with toast and potatoes for the little ones. No small talk, zero interest in customers. Very interesting vibe suggesting youre not right as a customer as soon as you enter this place. We should have done better research before coming as we expect a welcoming experience with top notch food but understand this was a very unique experience so some may like it.
Too small , closed too much . Awful service
So good
Sooooo goooood ! Had the classic breakfast, have not had better.
First Time Here The Food - very good it just takes a while because it is cooked to perfection. Had the Pork Belly Benedict with Brie and a side of Bacon, and Coffee was really nice. The Service - they were all nice, quick. The Atmosphere - a little small, but it makes up for it with helpful staff and food.
Terrible, so unfriendly and rude. There was Table to sit but told us that ll be waiting about 15-20 minutes, I said we ll wait but she didn t even ask for our name. And told us that we are blocking the door so we can come back later. Sounds like getting rid of us from the place. I guess they didn t want us to be their customer.
Weve gone to mirepoix twice now. The first time, they had their side patio open during the summer. If their patio is open, I would recommend sitting outside! We recently sat inside for brunch, and it was comfortable but a little bit crowded. They are quite busy on the weekends so you will have to wait a bit. The food is pretty good. It just did not suit my personal flavour profile. The food is a bit too heavy and a little bit greasy, but their menu is unique and fun. They use fresh ingredients and have seasonal menus. Its a nice experience and the staff are nice. I would recommend trying it. Their food is slightly on the pricey side especially for brunch.
Cute unassuming brunch place just off the main road. Delicious, perfectly toasted bread under the smoked salmon avo benny. Excellent portion sizing (food looks a bit small from the photos, but this was not the case in reality). Friendly service from the staff; chef brings your order to your table fresh from the kitchen. 3 spots for parking stalls right out front.
I have no words to express how delicious the dish this restaurant offers is. It has a refined and delicious style. My favorite is the Pork Belly Brie Benedict. I also love the Lobster Florentine Benedict and the Salmon Avocado Benedict. All dishes are served on hot plates. In short, their Benedict sauce is the best Ive tasted in all my years of visiting high-class restaurants around the world.
Incredible food
Amazing food, great service and atmosphere. Waiters/chefs make you feel like family !
Delicious food! Excellent service! Hot and tasty coffee. I had the pork belly and Brie Benedict!
Warning! You will never have a better meal after eating here! Delicious doesnt begin to cover it! Beautiful, creative, spectacularly good! Worth the two hour drive!
This place includes a $25 seating fee for *anyone* and doesnt do substitutions. My partner cannot eat eggs or cheese so was going to sit and have a coffee but didnt want to pay $25 for the privilege. Although they let our party leave after having ordered tea and coffee (which would normally be an add on) without charge because of it, but its not welcoming to not have accommodations for dietary restrictions. We would have spent $30/plate for three of us (since they also dont let you share - I get they have to make money) but its not welcoming Canadian hospitality by any means. This also wasnt well posted on the Facebook page before choosing this location to drive to. So much fine print to read we didnt even get to that part until we had already sat down.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and I appreciate that everything is made in-house, which is always a plus. Despite my enthusiasm for supporting local establishments, I found this restaurant to be overhyped. The service felt a bit standoffish, the menu was inflexible, and the dishes were ordinary and lacking in creativity.
beautiful place, very cozy, clean. The dishes are beautiful and tasty. I recommend everyone to have breakfast here. Thank for great breakfast
It s really good place where you can eat food made with love
Just soooo bizzare. We pull up, and theres a sign outside with a list of rules/info. Its a beautiful morning, 20 degree, mid july, and they said we cant sit on the patio. Instantly i got a weird vibe. On their sign outside it says no high chairs, so we went back to get our small umbrella stroller, and when we went inside the lady was weirdly startled/baffled and said no , no strollers can be in here !!!!!!! i said okay we will leave then i guess ? and she said ya ya no strollers sorry . Whole thing was so weird. Place was empty, and apparently no kids .
Incredible experience every visit. The pork is delicious and worth the detour alone. I will go back often!!
Amazing place! High quality food and a great atmosphere. Was on the way to Toronto and found it close to the highway. Highly recommend it!
Very delicious food, great service!
What an amazing spot! So cozy, friendly and their breakfast is top shelf!!! The chef knows his stuff and the waitress is so kind! Made our day to start in this fashion! Food
Small and comfortable. Patio ready available. The food is outstanding and staff is amazing. Kitchen can be slow however the food is worth the wait. This place only serves the freshest ingredients. Come back to check out their weekly and always in-season menus. The menus is always changing for the best. For fun, find the little army men guarding this restaurant. Free WiFi. Free parking across the street in the plaza. Free street parking nearby. Paid meter parking nearby. No credit card surcharge. Entrance is only a small set of stairs. May be a minor accessibility issue. This place is expensive and portions are next the best. At times, there can be a wait for table. Parking: There technically is no parking lot for this restaurant. Believe most park across the street in the plazas parking lot. Free street parking nearby. Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance is only a small set of stairs. May be a minor accessibility issue. Patio easily accessible.
Wonderful experience. Warm, welcoming service with a cozy atmosphere. We had the pork belly and salmon and asparagus breakfast. Absolutely delicious. So fresh and flavourful. Thanks. We will be back. Parking: Dont park in Giant Tigers parking lot or you will be towed. Try to find a side street.
Such a cute little spot & they really know how to make a mean Benedict. The lobster & pork belly Benedict s are definitely a must try - totally blew our minds. Everything was fresh, rich & delicious
Excellent service, excellent food. You ll be hard pressed to find a better breakfast in my opinion.
One of the best places for lunch in the region One of the best places for lunch in the region
Needed a quick bite on our way through and found this gem by their reviews. There is no parking, and do not park in the Plaza, or youll be towed. We found some on a side street. We ordered the pork belly & smoked salmon Bennys. Very tasty, very well presented, very filling! Coffee was yummy and refilled quckly. Super friendly staff. Gem in the rough of a restaurant, what a great find.
First time here, had the Eggs Benedict. Delicious, hot, tasty, pork belly was fork tender. In a world of mediocre restaurants this place is a 10+.
We arrived just past noon and were able to get a table right away. Service was friendly but the food took over 30mins to arrive. That said, the pork belly was so good I didnt mind waiting. Their freshly squeezed orange juice was great and overall we really liked the food.
One of the best breakfasts I have had. The pork belly Benedict rocked my world!
First time, great, will be back soon
Unbelievably good
The Classic Breakfast was delicious! A bit pricey, but good quality food overall.
Delicious, thank you
This was our first visit to the restaurant. Its a cute little place - bright and clean. We ordered lobster Florentine benedict and pork belly with brie benedict. The pork belly one came with a huge slab of perfectly cooked piece of meat, and quality cheese. The lobster one was a bit disappointing, as the quantity of meat was quite minimal. The highlight was the in house baked sour dough bread, both were served on. Parking: Park across the street in the Giant Tiger plaza - at your own risk of getting a ticket.
Such an amazing experience! The food is such high quality, the service is stellar, and the atmosphere is so fun. I cant recommend this place enough if youre looking to try something new in Saint Catharines. Get here ASAP!
We had a lovely brunch here and service is great too. We ordered lobster Florentine Benedict and pork belly Brie Benedict, and the tastes and textures are amazing. Will definitely come back!
THE BEST brunch place Ive ever been to. This place is a must try, we will definitely be back. All of our meals were delicious, and the service was lovely.
Our first time there. Will definitely return. Food was superb. Had the Pork Belly Benedict - just melt in your mouth goodness.
What a great brunch spot. Everything was delicious. The hollandaise is one of the best Ive had. If the pork belly benedict is on the menu, order it!
The classic breakfast was amazing, pork belly is a must! You can tell they take pride in using the best ingredients, if Im ever in st catharines again I will be going back, great service too.
My partner and I visited Mirepoix in October 2023 (apologies for the delayed review) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Well worth a visit. Its a hidden little gem, across the street from Giant Tiger (just dont park in the parking lot otherwise youll be towed). The food was delicious and was served like it was a fine dining restaurant. Everyone was lovely and polite, thank you! We even got to see a regular getting a birthday present from the staff, which was so sweet, as it put a huge smile on his face. Well be back again, whenever were in St. Catharines again <3
I never leave reviews but the food slaps so hard. Honestly some of the best food Ive had in a while
The food is marvelous and the staff were friendly, and knowledgeable around helping me meet my dietary limitations. The food came in a timely manner.
Best food Ive ever had.
I had the Lobster Florentine Benedict, and it was incredible. I gave it 4 stars because it was $25, which I think was expensive.
Wonderful breakfasts. Well worth the price
Totally awesome!
Update: They continue to be amazing During COVID: Always great quality food & service. Nice and cozy. Unfortunately, need umbrellas for their patio when it rains or some kind of shelter. But they did their best. Highly recommend this hidden gem
Bistro Mirepoix is absolutely the best breakfast Ive ever had in my life! The Pork Belly Brie Benedict was delicious and I cant wait to try out the rest of their menu. If you havent tried this place out, I highly recommend you do! 10/10
Omg best kept secret in the region! Had eggs beni , one pork belly and another of the smoked salmon avocado, absolutely the best ever, except possibly my own lol. Don t miss this if you can, no disappointments here.
Absolutely unreal pork belly. Sweet mustardy jus on top of fresh sourdough, perfectly poached eggs, and stunning bechamel . Melt in your mouth deliciousness!!
The best classic breakfast I ever had
This place was recommended to us, and boy, are we glad we visited. The service and food are both outstanding! Great attention to detail and tons of care go into every dish. We ordered the pork belly benedict and mushroom omelet with goat cheese with a side of bacon. Superb!
Mirepoix is my go to for brunch in St. Catharines - food is fresh and tastes great!
The best eggs benedict I ve ever had! The pork belly eggs benedict is a must-try!
Bistro Mirepoix makes me very happy. Great quality food made and served with smart, natural, creative flair. If I lived closer, I would be much poorer because I would eat there way too often!
We were visiting from out of town and wanted a nice breakfast or brunch. A Google search put this Bistro as # 1...with good reason. The food is incredible, the service is fantastic. We will definitely return when we are back this way. Also, I forgot a piece of jewelry on the table when we left...the lovely server caught up to us across the street to return it. Highly recommended. Visit this restaurant...you will be glad you did.
Unassuming place but you will be blown away of the quality of the food they served. Menu is written on the board because they only use what ever is on the market which means that you will get the freshest ingredients. Pork belly is a must to try and so is the mushroom with truffles and perfectly poached eggs.
Its always good, just cant come too often as its a bit pricey for an every weekend place.
Had one of the best brunches of my life here. Staff are amazing as well.
Great place to dine in and just experience in general , but I tried to contact them via email and phone number and no answer . Was hoping to order a mothers day breakfast but not sure if I am able to due to them not contacting back. ( I also contacted on different days just in case they were busy) Update they emailed me incredibly rude and said take your business elsewhere for the negative Google review ..... I said it was a great place to experience and asked for assistance.
So delicious and a beautiful place!
Just the best place in town .Unique in every way .Amazing food with the warmest welcome .Never change
Wonderful service and fabulous food as always, well done Maddy and crew. Thanks for a lovely Mothers Day !
From Toronto and found ourselves in Niagara Falls for Mothers Day to pick our daughter up from a trip. We ended up here after striking out everywhere else when we tried to book brunch the 2 days before Mothers Day. I think they were available because they do their own text-for-reservation system. It was fantastic and we were pleased with the find. We had the brisket burger, sourdough waffles and lobster florentine. Id love to return when we are in the area again--hopefully for dinner!
I live in the area but I never knew about this place. The food was amazing, the service was great and overall it was a great experience. Cant wait to come back again!
Excellent food Great music in the background Food
The food is beyond amazing and this is a Greek thing. But their sourdough toast is probably the best toast I ever had in my life. Vegetarian options: Wide selection and it seems they will cater to your likings.
Very delicious brunch, and very friendly staff! Deeply enjoyed! Highly recommended!
Wow, my partner and myself stumbled upon this gem as we were visiting St. Catharines for the in the soil arts festival. Cute atmosphere, friendly staff but the food. WoW i had the lobster florentine and my partner had the salmon. Cooked so perfectly, filled with flavours and quality of products. It definitely started our day in a very happy way haha. Will definitely come again as it js worth the cost and more!
Great little place for brunch. The dishes feel very extravagant and elegant. A must go for someone who enjoys more than basic bacon and eggs (which you could also get if thats what you like!)
Food was good, atmosphere was great, service good too. Price is a little expensive for quantity you get. Food
We had such a lovely experience at this amazing bistro. The food was delicious and the server/owner was so helpful and gave us amazing tips for our trip. Honestly, I don t have one negative thing to say and would come back again. We had the mushroom toast and the lobster Benedict for breakfast and we are planning another trip up to St Catharines in the fall which will definitely include breakfast here.
Dont miss this place
food was delicious, the service was great, nothing but good things to say, truly a 5 star experience
Really nice place for brunch! Good service and nice people!
Very large portions, delicious food, friendly stuff and atmosphere Highly recommend Food
Best food and service ever
Low-key, super friendly, great food
Parking: Directly in front of the store. 2 hour free parking in the alley if you loop around Food
Bistro Mirepoix was excellent! I went to try their pork belly benedict and it was amazing! The prices are fair and the menu is unique. Definitely a must-visit brunch spot! I will be back to try the lobster benedict!
Got the smoked salmon and avocado Benny, lobster Benny, and pork belly Benny. The pork belly one was the most flavourful. It tasted like it was glazed with maple syrup. The potatoes were alright. I only wish there was more hollandaise sauce. It seemed as though there was just the slightest drizzle of hollandaise. I would get the pork belly one again and not waste my time with the others. When you are there, everyone has to order at least $25 of food.
Their opening hours are posted at 8am on Fridays. Went today at 8 - no one in sight. Restaurant was closed. Very unprofessional.
This place is a go-to MUST for breakfast, the lobster eggs benedict is so Delicious! My boyfriend introduced me to Mirepoix and we absolutely love coming here on the weekend. Sourdough waffles are fantastic, highly recommended. Check out their Instagram @onionscarrotscelery 10/10 <3
Delicious food! Had the lobster eggs benedict and it was amazing. Very fair prices for the quality that you get. Will be back for sure.
Still dreaming about that Pork Belly Benedict. Delicious!!!!!
Wonderful brunch spot. Lobster, eggs benedict and omelettes are my favourite. They also have gluten free options for toast.
Go try this little jem, you will be amazingly surprised.
A beautiful little gem. You walk in and it s a super quaint little restaurant. The menu is perfect. Lots of choices without making it overwhelming. You can see into the kitchen where your food is prepared fresh. The food is 5 start delicious. The owners/servers are welcoming and a great source of information for other food places to experience during your trip. We loved it so much we came back twice!
Great food - best of 2023
Good food small restaurant
The experience at this restaurant felt like a michelin star experience. The sense I got is that every atom of what I ate was expertly crafted. To say it was delicious is an understatement. After we finished our meal, I wanted to order another entree just to try more of the menu. Ill definitely make the trip again sometime.
amazing place!! and if you go at 8 am the door is unlocked and happy people were inside ready to gimme food (-: hours of operation just like google says.. WOAH!!! hoping the best to this lovely business
I was expecting it to be good but didn t expect it to be that good! It was outstanding.
Damn girl! I didn t see this coming
Went in at 8 am and everyone was soooo friendly and welcoming!!
If you havent been in yet, what are you waiting for?!!!
Amazing food, great people!
Arrived at Mirepoix this morning for our first time and WHAT A WONDERFUL place! It is an intimate little cafe , with a really unique menu. We ordered Lobster Benny and Pork Belly Benny and they were to die for! Thank you Eryn for great service..Also ,apologies to the lovely woman who greeted us we asked her name, and got so excited about our meal, that her name escapes us. You made us feel so welcome! Both servers were lovely and fun and we knew they appreciated our patronage think we discovered our most favourite breakfast destination Great job Mirepoix we will definitely return soon.
Fresh and delicious food, prices in line with the quality offered and the atmosphere of the place.
First time eating here and everything was wonderful. The restaurant has a cozy vibe, the service was excellent and friendly, and the food was fantastic. We shared the Pork Belly Benedict and the French toast with fresh berries, and both were delicious - the pork belly is a standout, and the eggs on the benedict were perfectly poached. Good bottomless coffee too. Ill be back the next time were in the area.
Loved the vibe as soon as we walked in for a late brunch. Such a wonderful and warm space. That pork belly Benedict was outstanding my goodness! Thank you so much for the pleasure that is Bistro mirepoix.
Interesting place in an odd location, bit of a sketcy neighborhood. Do not park in the plaza across the street as you will actually get towed (they are relentless, not even a ticket, just a full on removal). Food was excellent, service was great. The look like they really love what they do and gave great attention to detail. It was expensive so unfortunately we wont be able to go very often except for a treat.
Wow ate there for the first time had the pork belly Benedict amazing !
Ordered the pork belly benedict, and this was by far the best breakfast I have ever had by far. Its forward thinking in cuisine, with mindblowing combination of flavours, a true explosion in your mouth. Not to mention how lovely Aaron is, very open and friendly, and gave great recommendations to other restaurants in the area. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
This was quite honestly the best breakfast Ive eaten in many years, and I recommend Mirepoix to anyone who understands and appreciates good food. No, youre not going to get simple bacon and eggs here. Instead, you will have an unforgettable dining experience that youre unlikely to find anywhere else. Totally fresh ingredients, everything cooked to order, efficient and attentive service. The salmon and avocado eggs benedict was divine, with perfectly poached eggs and crispy roasted potatoes on the side, and my girlfriends mushroom and swiss was so good that I had to swap a forkful of hers too. Well be back as soon as we can!
I walked in for breakfast and the place was empty which is fine with me. But they wouldn t let me and my friend sit in the booth because it s only for 4 people , meanwhile it wasn t busy at all. I left right after that. I wanted to try the food but the vibe was off.
Outstanding in every sense of the word, the food far exceeded my expectations expectations & I already knew they were very high since my good friend & fellow FOODIE had insisted on taking me here . Of you are a lover of fine foods then this Bistro is must visit on your travels through Niagara Region/Wine Country & designated UNESCO World Heritage Biosphere Site Parking: We found parking easily & quickly but if we had to walk 5-6 blocks then I d gladly do so because this was the best tasting, smelling & looking breakfast I ve had in a very long time. Seriously just figure out a way to get down to this hidden GEM & Eat drink & be MERRY OK !!!
Small brunch spot with the most delicious menu options and superb coffee.
Seriously good food and good portions at reasonable prices. Great service and quick food delivery. Only bad thing is the chairs could be comfier, but that is overshadowed by the food.
It was Delish!! We had the lobster & pork belly bennies , couldn t resist the French onion soup with a delectable broth duck with bone broth , lotsa cheese , that crunch of crouton oh my
Pork Belly Brie Benedict Lobster Benedict Onion soup Broccoli and Cheddar Parking: Keep it simple and park in the front on the street.
What an amazing food experience.. Everything was delicious and so well prepared. If you want a tasty, refine breakfast/brunch with fresh ingredients prepared with passion and love for food..Go to Mirepoix. I would definitely go there again. Beautiful little gem in downtown St Catherines
What an amazing spot. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. We had bunch here for my wifes Birthday and things could not have gone better. We were all very impressed with the quality of the food that we had. I highly recommend this spot!
Amazing brunch with unique dishes. Must try the pork belly Benedict. Sourdough waffles were amazing as well, but just a tad too sweet Food
Just excellent
Great brunch spot. Highly considered coming here every day of our trip but it was a bit far from Niagara. Highly recommend the pork belly and the soup. The salmon eggs benedict were okay but probably wouldnt get them again. The lobster scrambled eggs didnt seem to have very much lobster, wouldnt recommend it. There were a few other things we were interested in trying but the pork belly and soup are things we would definitely order again.
Busy spot. Had the French onion soup, herbed potatoes and sourdough toast. Food was terrific. Parking: Theres a sign in the restaurant saying you will get towed if you park across the street in the giant tiger lot. Only parking is street parking.
The best brunch in this area.
A St Catharines hidden gem. Wonderful french inspired brunch/lunch cuisine with amazing staff and honestly for the quality the price isnt unreasonable. This isnt a place to eat. Its a unique experiance Food
The food was fantastic and service was wonderful! A cozy and eclectic breakfast and lunch spot with a warm friendly atmosphere. Our party thoroughly enjoyed it and will be coming back when in the area.
Very small establishment that serves very small portions, going for breakfast I felt like I was jammed in a can of sardines. Food was okay, certainly not worth the price however. (Over $200 for 4 people) leaving this place left my wallet lighter and my stomach hungrier.
Outstanding lunch book it! Driving from out of town we gave it a try. Two of us had the classic breakfast. Others had the lobster florentine Benedict. Real lobster ladies and gentlemen! Yum! Eggs only one way but you will enjoy the perfect presentation. If you don t usually like beans, do give theirs a little taste you will not doubt finish it! And I have never tasted the wonderful and generous portion of pork belly that I enjoyed here. Meaty with perfect caramelisation. Don t let the slightly higher breakfast price scare you off. Completely worth it. Food quality, preparation, portions and presentation top level. Service was exceptional and subtle with a slight twist of humour. Very welcoming. Don t let the list of rules on the blackboard throw you off they are actually helpful. Example, don t park in the big parking lot across the street they will tow. Surprise you can park right in front of the restaurant for free. Anytime we are heading to Niagara Falls for the day this will be in our list. It s just a quick exit off the highway. Oh, and on the way out glance into the kitchen and enjoy the view of all the greens they grow for use on the restaurant.
TL;DR Awesome place with unique spins on classic dishes, top tier service, and a cool vibe. The food is incredible. I have gone a couple of times, and you can tell that everything is made with passion. The food is balanced and satisfying, and the portion sizes are about as big as you can get while still having nice plating. They always have something new to try. Whatever the special is, you should probably get it. I had the Bunny Benny, which was eggs benny on their delicious sourdough with braised rabbit. It was incredible, and the eggs were perfectly cooked for a runny yolk with a fully cooked white. The service is super friendly, but also clearly very busy doing tons of other stuff. Surprisingly, with the multitude of tasks being done, I didnt go very long without coffee (which was 416, by the way, best around) or water, and any questions were handled in a friendly but concise manner. The atmosphere is cozy, but a bit tight for my liking since Im a pretty large person. It can also be a bit loud, depending on other customers. If you look around, there is a lot of quirky stuff around on shelves. There is also local art on the walls, which I think is super cool.
Great service, fresh menu. Great backyard patio. You pay for what you get fantastic food for the right price.
Delightfully quirky little place in a weird location thats easy to miss. The menu was diverse and the offerings sounded delicious. Very cute little side patio with the daintiest of tables and chairs. They served coffee with actual sugar cubes! I had the lobster eggs Benedict, which was very good although the lobster could have been fresher. Service was attentive. Would recommend!
Best breakfast in Niagara!
A+ food, service. Best breakfast in 100km2
Really wonderful server, just so kind and personable! You can tell that this establishment was made for true foodies, nothing fancy on the outside but subtle rustic and tasteful decor on the inside. The lobster Florentine eggs Benedict was brilliantly laid out and tasted phenomenal! So glad we found this place! Thank you for having us!
The bistro is very fantastic! I sat alone outside, but the atmosphere was very pleasant. I recommend the pork belly benedict.
Lobster Benedict. Period.
I had the pork belly and Brie eggs Benedict for brunch, and not to be dramatic, but it was the most amazing brunch I ve ever had in my entire life. It topped everything. It was perfectly balanced and proportioned. The tangy salad balanced out the rich pork belly, the bread was crunchy and held up to the perfectly poached eggs and light lemony hollandaise sauce. I have travelled the world and worked with many private chefs who prepared brunch on private yachts and I can tell you, this is better than any billionaire is eating on a yacht in the south of France. It was the holy grail of brunch and I will be chasing this high for the rest of my life
Interesting take on an old time classic
Breakfast was amazing. More than I normally eat but you are not permitted to share plates. Coffee is good which is a bonus in my mind. I give this a thumbs up.
Yellow Pear was much better.
Best breakfast ever !
Wonderful food and the patio is adorable
We have come twice in the last three months from Toronto. Each time the trip is really worth it and sets an amazing mood for the rest of our day ! The staff is particularly efficient, and kind. The patio chef gave us great recommendations for other restaurants in the area of Niagara Falls ! We tried both inside and patio menus. We got rewarded with probably one of the best brunch we had in Ontario each time , and we ve tried many in Toronto and around. The burger is perfect and the pork belly Benedict plate is also delicious. The place is also super cute and welcoming :) Definitely worth the price and the 5 star review ! We will back soon.
Amazing food. Excellent service
Best breakfast ever. Highest quality ingredients, cool tunes, warm service. Can t miss.
Good quality ingredients, dishes can be somewhat over-sweet for my taste, exceptional service, expensive price. Overall a great experience for brunch!
Such great food, very cozy environment.
Absolutely perfect breakfast!
This place is fabulous and, I must say, a gem in St. Catharines. Its a bright light in what is otherwise a city with few upscale dining options. But Mirepoix isnt pretentious and it certainly isnt your traditional upscale restaurant. It embraces the notion of a bistro - serving up delicious gourmet fare in a small yet welcoming dining area. The concept is genius, including a chalkboard menu which might otherwise be considered petit, yet manages to offer an array of qualtiy options infused with creativity. I would have to agree that less is more when it comes to menus. Something that North America seems to struggle with, but Mirepoix has executed impeccably. Its a rarity for a restaurant owner to identify and hone in on its strengths. A talent which leads to perfection in every bite and unequivocal excellence.
Amazing breakfast and brunch spot. Hidden gem. Dont miss it.
Family friendly and relaxing, Mirepoix is quite literally heaven on earth from the delicious Eggs Benedict to the mouth watering slab of pork belly this place delivers on all fronts! While some might say its expensive, i can personally promise you that its money well spent. The crew working there are all extremely nice and flexible, if there is anything you need or want dont be afraid to ask!
Excellent food and great people
Lovely place for brunch. A bit pricey for a breakfast but everything is fresh high quality and locally sourced so no points deducted for that. Everything was cooked perfectly and the bistro itself has a warm homey feel. I would reccomend to anyone looking for something different that is prepared with great love and care. You can really tell these people enjoy what they do.
Amazing food with beautiful presentation. We had lobster florentine benedict & smoked salmon avocado Benedict and both were as delicious as they looked! We were served by Maddie, a wonderful and cheerful human being. The outdoor space is cute and very cozy. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. Love the place at the first sight!
Great little spot with wonderful staff. Food never disappoints, just the right portion, and so comforting. I love watching the dance the chefs do in the kitchen, so in sync and with such care. Highly recommend.
Great experience, amazing flavors! Will go back.
Great service and food. Sat at the patio, had the lobster Benedict for brunch, perfectly cooked poached eggs. Worth to try if you are on your way to Niagara Falls.
Best eggs Benedict s I ve ever had. Worth every dollar. They use local ingredients that are fresh and make the plate delicious.
Best food in the region!
The Pork Belly & Brie Florentine was delicious. Food takes time to get to your table but totally worth the wait. Highly recommended.
The best brunch you will ever have!
I love the lobster Benedict sandwich. Its amazing to have such delicious, filling, but yet not bloating food. The staff are friendly and amazing as well.
Amazing little bistro restaurant. Just incredible food and service. I went here on a whim because I wanted to treat myself. I had no idea what I was in for. The first fork full went in and I was in love. Lobster florentine benedict ftw
What a hidden gem! Went for lunch with a colleague....top quality food at more than reasonable pricing. Highly recommend. Well done Chef!
The pork is the best, mist try!
Amazing Food
Best Breakfast Place
Pass by the town, was a little skeptical about the look outside, but damn! The food is really good, nice little cute restaurants inside. Will definitely try more next time pass the town. Cant wait.
Cozy and cute, the service was very good and the food super tasty.
Probably the best breakfast Ive ever had. Its very pricey, probably $30 and up for a breakfast but my god is everything perfect. Smoked salmon avocado benedict came with some potatoes, never had a dish where every texture was perfect. Chef is incredible and they basically have a small herb garden in house. I cant imagine why anyone would leave this place a bad review besides price but its your choice to eat there. Its worth the experience, you rarely see 4.8 stars for a reason.
A Fantastic spot to enjoy a spin on your typical breakfast. Unique dishes that are absolutely delicious
Oh my, the food is so good. Wonderful service. Relaxing atmosphere. Had a great time
Whenever someone (normally my wife) asks me to go out for breakfast, I groan. I think to myself, I can make the same breakfast at home for 1/10th of the price. Mirepoix is different though, and the type of eatery that is worth every penny to me. It really isnt that much more expensive than a place like Dennys or any given diner, but the food is exquisite. It is delicious and original. Gordon Ramsay taught me (via his videos/shows) that fewer selections is a sign of a great place to eat that serves fresh, excellent food. Mirepoix is in that category. Now I know of a great place to go out for breakfast/brunch the next time my wife asks me!
One of the best breakfasts Ive had in a while. Everything was scratch made. We got the pork belly Benedict and and lobster Benedict. It melted in your mouth. Everything on the menu is an even $25 per plate. Id highly recommend.
Classic breakfast! Pork belly was delicious. Kinda small inside but very friendly staff
Great find! Fresh, quality and beautiful presentation!
Hands down the best breakfast in town. Little pricey but you get what you pay for. Ingredients are super fresh and well put together. Pork belly Benedict is on another level!
Nice local restaurant great service, I think they re slightly too safe with the hollandaise, I enjoy bold, citrus, and a little bit of cayenne in my hollandaise. It s a little bit too buttery for me. Maybe it s just my preference though. I d try it out if you re a Benedict fan
We had breakfast at Bistro Mirepoix this morning and it was fabulous!! Service and food was outstanding! I had the classic breakfast with scrambled eggs. the sausage patty was amazing and the beans in a tomato compote was very tasty! I think it has ruined me for substandard breakfasts, now I feel very spoiled! Cant wait to return!
The place is cozy, the food is good
I had the pork belly and brie benedict. It was recommended as I never been here before. Hands down the best breakfast I ever had!! And I had a lot of breakfast. Cozy, quant and inviting atmosphere. Food : 5/5
I ordered the pork belly with poached eggs and Brie on sourdough toast. And my husband had the classic breakfast. Both dishes beautifully plated and amazingly delicious. So rare to experience this kind of excellence.
The pork belly eggs Benedict was rich with a strong salty tang. I believe the pork belly may have been smoked... either way, it was tender and succulent. The staff were attentive and considerate.
I had a delicious lobster benetict with fried halloumi and coffee. Great atmosphere, intimate spacing. Perfect for a breakfast date.
I ve been dying to try Mirepoix, and it exceeded my expectations. Subtle, divine, delicious. I had the pork belly Benedict and could taste each flavour individually, then it all came together as perfection in my mouth. We also appreciated the cool, chill vibe of the owner operators.
Hands down, best bistro in town!! 12/10
