The oxtail combo with rice and peas is very delicious. One of the best oxtail rice & peas I ever tasted in the GTA. Oxtail slide off the bone so tender and the oxtail gravy was soo good. The food is definitely made with love . Nuff respect I will definitely be back .
Everything has been great so far. Have been at least 5 times, and no complaints. The soup is much more filling than you'd expect it to be, as well as being really good.
They were supposed to be open till 9pm on Saturday. I bought 2 Too Good to Go orders with them for pickup between 8-9pm. Got there at 8:25pm. Doors locked, dark, and definitely closed. This happened to us there last year on a trip to Canada also. I don't think I'll try a 3rd order since they never seem to be open when they're supposed to be!!
I recently enjoyed a delicious fried fish lunch at a Caribbean eatery. The fish was perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the portion size was generous. What really impressed me was how the staff made sure my dish was made to suit my liking. They asked about my preferences and dietary restrictions, and went above and beyond to accommodate them. The service was warm and welcoming, making me feel like a valued guest. I highly recommend trying the fried fish lunch at this Caribbean eatery for a personalized and satisfying dining experience.
Love the vibe of this restaurant. It feels like a little slice of home! Food was 10/10! This will be my new spot for sure! I got the oxtail w. Rice and peas and a spicy patty. Patty was fire! Oxtail needs pepper in my opinion, but overall delicious and rice and peas were top tier! And I love that my meal came with plantain, this is how it should be served everywhere! They did not miss a beat! Customer service was friendly and timely!
Ordered fried chicken meal with white rice and gravy. The gravy is somethings different. It is truly delicious. Wow. My family loved it. The chicken was a bit dry but nice light flavour. Plantain we’re still crunch and sweet. Rice was a little over cooked in some places but mostly right. Definitely better than jam rock.
Located behind the big bee on Lake st. and Lowell avenue, this eatery offers a variety of homemade Caribbean dishes. I ordered the small oxtail and small jerk chicken. The oxtail had too much bone and not enough meat. My rice and peas tasted like they were made two days ago. The jerk chicken was flavourful but dry like my aunties heels. There’s not many Caribbean restaurants in the Niagara region. You should cook with pride and show you care a little more about your business.
Food is always so good. Everything on the menu is awesome. The flavours are so deep and meats are so tender. Oxtail is a favourite. Portions for the prices is amazing. This place is certainly worth a stop. Limited dine-in seating. Excellent service. Simple interior design. Washroom needs work. Free parking though limited. Pork can be dry at times.
Hands down the best Jamaican food in the city. Owners are great and friendly. No typical rudeness.
Had the goat curry with roti and jerk chicken. The chicken was extremely dry to the point that it was hard to eat. The curry was good but the roti was so dry it was hard. The jerk chicken was a large order and this was basically two legs cut into small pieces.
Very long wait time for poor value meal. Unrecognizable small pieces of chicken in jerk chicken meal. Poor attention to detail - couldnt remember my order when they brought it out.
I ordered the oxtail and it was very good.
always good mike and eddie are great my fav for jamacian food so happy its in st catharines
Professional services
Will make your belly full, but I find the rice always a lickle dry, jerk chicken also dry usually. But the curries aren t! Portions are decent for the price you pay. Atmosphere is good, they usually got some dancehall or rub-a-dub play pon the stereo. Parking: Just pull up behind the convenience store
Been going here since Ive moved to this city foods good and services is great!
The beef soup was very enjoyable I highly recommend it. The curry goat was OK but the fried chicken was off it had no seasoning and it tasted bad and usually Jamaican restaurants do it the best. The plain rice was not cooked right very mushy and it soaked through the container. The rice and peas were good The service was good too! Vegetarian options: The beef soup was very good
Goat roti and goat with white rice is delicious
My go to place in the city for authentic. If you wanna eat food and have a belly full of food. Come by here. Make sure you get rice and peas but ask for extra gravy
The music gets you in the mood for the food which never disappoints. I have had the chicken, the goat, the oxtail, the roti and my mother raves about the soup. This place is a good bet
Authentic foods Stunning flavours Thank you Food : 5/5
Tried their oxtail, rice and peas and plantain for the first time this week with a side of chicken soup....yum!
Delicious food, especially oxtail rice and peas
So tired of places like this that microwave their food. $50 for 2 microwaved rubbery jerk chicken meals, soggy rice just save your money, they can t cook :)
over charged me ,i ordered goat and half the meal was bones ,im never going back to this place again
Great place for Rhoti.
Great food. Just wish it was spicier
Five stars based on first experience here. Takeout order for 9 people, order ready on time and they threw in a side of fried plantain. Everything was delicious.
Fantastic people make fantastic food here! Get your fix of classic Carribean food!
Food was extremely dry and flavorless, felt like it was days old. This was the first time I threw out a meal
Had the oxtail with rice and peas. Delicious! Portion was great had enough to have for lunch the following day. The staff were very friendly but always are. Great place if you want authentic caribean cuisine.
Best Carribean food Ive ever had. Felt like my mama made it fresh front the kitchen NAW IMSAYING
Love the jerk chicken, so flavourful! I come in/ order online for homemade beef Pattie s often! always fresh, I highly recommend.
The soup is to die for
Oxtail was pretty tasty....havent had good oxtail in a long while until I came across this gem. If you are in St. Catherines, this is a must try restaurant!
Very disgusting smell when entering the store. It didn t seem to come from the kitchen which was a relief. I got the fried chicken meal and the fried chicken was crispy but lacked in depth flavour. The rice was really mushy! I like mushy rice but this was really wet and yogurt like. It still tasted good to me but certainly odd. The rice was so wet that the container they served the food in was completely soaked through that it actually broke from how wet the rice was. The people working were nice.,
Music was good, and the guy who took my order was chill. Chicken was dry, but the rice and peas were interesting. The oxtail gravy was nice and meat fell right off the bone. I tried with no spice this time, next time Ill try the spicy stuff :)
Dont mean to poop on local mom and pop joints.... But this was not fresh food. Low quality jerk chicken and dry reheated rice. Place is clean with parking, and good vibes with the music, etc. Service is fine, good selection of drinks. But food quality needs to be improved if you want repeat business. Maybe its good enough for a small town?
Amazing jerk chicken and beef patties
love it
Good Caribbean food spot! The food is great but you may have to wait longer than convenient at times. I would recommend ordering ahead of time as many people came in and picked up the food while I waited for mine. I also received expired salad on 2 occasions which is a bit concerning.
Parking: Good Recommended dishes
Love acee and salt fish Definitely recommend this place
Its always a great place to eat.
Just had the roti. Was good, wasnt a big fan of the wrap they used for it. But the flavour inside was good. I never know if the intention with goat is to be boneless or not, so there was some bones. But ive experienced that elsewhere too. Overall would recommend again for trying other dishes. Would like it spicier though.
It wasnt great. Kinda expensive for what it is. The food (fried chicken and jerk chicken) arrived very boney and soggy due to bad quality takeout containers. Soup was also very disappointing and bland, beef patties were cold in the middle
The food is good.
Best goat curry wrap Ive had in St Catharines!! Beautiful music, atmosphere and the owners are super friendly!!
My partner took me for a cheat day and it was absolutely worth it. He heard about them from coworkers. Went for lunch and was immediately taken care of. I got med curry goat w pattie and he got a lg. oxtail an pattie. Later that evening I shared my experience with my bestie from barrie and so we ended up there again for dinner. This time we called ahead and she pick up the orders no problem. My new favorite place. Ive told everyone in my family in Toronto about how they finally have a place in St Catharines worth eating out at! They have a salt and fresh water fish tanks, I thought the crown fish and sprimpy were pretty cool. . Hope my review helps BEST Jamaican Food in town!!! Thats factts Dietary restrictions: Grate place to go if your on a high protein, low carb diet. Parking: Parking is directly infront of the restaurant
The food is ok..The owners are wonderful..
Ox tail. Need I say more
First time eating there tonight your curry goat Roti is phenomenal I will definitely be back the cook even came out to meet me and everything else love your food love your service see you soon Best food I ve had out here since I moved here almost 6 years ago from Toronto absolutely loved it and the atmosphere Parking: Easy parking
Good portion sizes for the price and great food. Had the oxtail and the jerk chicken and both were excellent! I will definitely be going back :)
Staff here are so friendly and the food is absolutely amazing.
I will report you guys to consumers bureau because you guys are selling old food dated last year. This place is horrible and will never come here again. The Owner is very disrespectful and obviously knows he is selling bad food. I will surely will let consumer bureau knows your operation. This utter dishonesty and should not be ignored.
i love you caribbean eatery
Great vibe, great staff. Epic food!
Forgot about this gem since moving out of Niagara. Was pleasantly reminded with a superb chicken Roti the other day. Made fresh and hot was delicious and authentic
The food was amazing, but it is a small, simple place, so dont expect a fancy restaurant. The employees were friendly though!
Great food!
Must have arrived at the right time! We got there around brunch after deciding to try a carribean restaurant with decent options for myself specifically and ended up trying this location first! The quality was amazing (dining in), the service was great but the prices were relatively high although considering current inflation it was fair for the size. Definitely recommend it!
Fabulous food! The curry goat is amazing!!! Kid-friendliness: Lots of fish tanks to keep the Littles busy Food : 5/5 |
Dont sleep on them best eats around.
Oxtail is fantasic, great food overall, but staff are rude and patronizing, which left me with very mixed feelings. Would rather eat where Im welcome.
It is definitely one of the tastiest local restaurants I have visited here in st. catharines. The attention is good and quite friendly. The dishes are delicious!!!
Amazing food served by friendly staff in a modest location. Visited with 3 friends and we were all very happy with our meals. Would absolutely recommend.
Bad staff
Great food! Recommended
Very busy place and yet staff managed to serve you on time. Clean and tropical atmosphere Parking: In front of the resto
Best Caribbean restaurant in the area
They dont have any manners to run busses
Caribbean Eatery is the best place for Jamaica foods
Good morning, yesterday I visited the place with my wife. We were very excited to try the food but unfortunately the attention was horrible. The boy looked at us with contempt and didnt take the time to explain or sell his food, he also left us alone in a rather rude way. Personally, I dont recommend the place for the attention. The food is good but not extraordinary. I think there are better places where customer service is excellent and you can enjoy your food without worrying that they look horrible at you.
I ve been here several times. The food is pretty good but I will not be back. I went there a few weeks back and there was a young man working there and his finger nails were disgusting.. but I was like maybe he cooked something and it s food. I went back again and the same young man was working and again his finger nails and hands were so dirty I lost my appetite. Idk maybe the kids a mechanic on the side.. either way I don t want to see dirty hands when I m picking up food.. I will say the young man was very polite but after this experience I won t be ordering here anymore.
The curry goat was delicious 10/10
Had jerk chicken and ox tail. It was okay. Nothing to write home about. Not the most friendly or the cleanest. Kinda run down inside. Would not go again.
Only got the small jerk pork but it was Very flavorful, they use nice cuts of meat. Rice and peas was delicious and the fried plantain is a nice touch. Only thought was with tax comes to $13 and some change. For me Portion size is quite small. Also On this day service was very slow. Give a pass because it was lunch time.
Ordered up 2 large oxtail tonight with rice and peas and it exceeded expectations! The food is always good from Caribbean Eatery, but tonight was on a new level of good. Little extra spice was so nice and the plantain was a nice surprise in there. This was exactly the comfort food we needed
Jerk chicken was not eventful!
Food is good here
Food definitely not satisfying
Absolutely delicious. Friendly staff, great food at good prices. Fried chicken was delicious, jerk was mild and flavourful and the roti chicken was prob my favourite although it was a bit too spicy for my girlfriend, it was perfect for me. We ate like kings the last few days, def going to return!
My go to place for Caribbean food. My favourite is oxtail and jerk chicken.
First time having Jamaican here in St. Kitts. Originally from Scarborough the home of Caribbean cuisine. The service was welcoming and the food was delicious...reminded me of the Pelau shop in Malvern. Beef patties were so tasty, I wanna go back an buy a dozen. Boneless Chicken Roti was perfection and the plantain was a sweet treat at the end. I highly recommend Caribbean Eatery and I will be back again and again!!!
Hasnt disappointed yet. Owners are super nice.
It was very nice finding this eatery. Very authentic vibes upon entry to serving.
Best Goat Roti in Niagara county!!!!
The jerk pork and jerk chicken was extremely dry and the flavour was just bland not worth the money
Had a great lunch ,beef soup and we shared goat roti .The roti was big enough for two!
Food was hot, fresh and tasty, first time there and would definitely go back. I had the rice and peas with ox tail which came with fried plantains and coleslaw...compliments to the chef
Nice spice
Coleslaw was standard, plantains were good! We were craving doubles so tried a new place out, they don t carry doubles anymore unfortunately:( not their fault at all though. We decided to order 2 the boneless chicken roti and 2 Jamaican patties, came to $40 a bit expensive but again not their fault, they re other food might be good but their roti was not :( I ll probably go back for a Jamaican patty, they were hot and flakey:)
Food is very tasty, service was good.. Some items are a bit pricy but overall I recommend trying it if you like, or would like to try authentic jamaican food. Take out is available but they have tables if you care to eat in.
Had a couple of patties and the oxtail and they were so so good! Highly recommend this gem
So this is now the 4th time Ive had the fish and its very good. Much better to eat in as its much more relaxing. Great atmosphere and staff.
While visiting tacky Niagara Falls we read a review in Facebook. So we tried it. A little out of the way but it is too die for. Curry coat was marvelous. We will go again when in the area.
The food is delicious, family owned and run. The jerk pork and curry goat absolutely amazing. Service was excellent!
Been eating here for years, always satisfied, always fresh, always friendly.
To be honest I have had better. I had the jerk pork and it was tough .. Basically I think they are microwaving the meats to finish cook. The coleslaw I had was not made that day because the cabbage was an off colour. But I guess to each his own .
wow, just wow. I m not from here but this is the best Caribbean food i ve had in my life.
Great customer service. The food was on point. I got the curry goat and the jerk chicken meals. The portion sizes were a lot! You get what you pay for. If youre from Toronto (GTA) and you happen to be in the area definitely check this spot out!
Nasty food.
Absolutely the BEST! they are unbelievably friendly and the food is delicious. The owner is hands on and makes me feel like a celebrity when I walk in!
A great Caribbean eatery. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
My.go to for Spicy Beef Patties....great price for a box.
Oxtail was so good and the portion was big too. It comes with plantains. I really enjoyed it.
Amazing food!
The woman who is on requests is not nice to deal with.
This place is Great. Food was loaded with flavor, and there was a lot of food provided. Price is excellent, the amount of food you get for a $9.00 meal is enough for 2 people or 2 meals. Today I had the jerk chicken and it was amazing the only readon I gave a 4 Star is to me it should be Spicy, but it was not. Plaintain was plentiful, peas and rice were delicious not dry and loads of peas, there was a lot of chicken pieces provided. I cannot wait to try a different dish on my next visit.
Food quality is very good
Review just for roti. We ordered 2. The flavor of the roti was very good. But the wrap was extremely stiff and bland. Looked/tasted like under-cooked tortilla. Disappointed. But if I did live nearby, I might try other dishes on the menu.
Best value for take out. Great flavour, high quality ingredients. Large portions and fast turn around on orders.
This place is good. Ive tried every dish. Theyre all pretty good. Had beef soup from there last night for the first time and it was really good as well. Very nice people too, and theyre on skipthedishes.
No meat on the oxtail all fat never have sticky rice, for how long I waited was not worth the wait or the money. :(
My go to . . Never disappointed. . Amazing portions good price and a taste of comfort
Great food!! The chicken roti reminds me if being back in Barbados
Jerk chicken is made with white meat Not sure about the rest of the menu so 3 stars instead of 1
Waited an hour for my food and they served 5 customers that came after me. The food isnt even that good either. I miss my mr jerks in Toronto.
Not professional, no mask no social distance. When you remind them the mask answer is do you know how hot is here. Food is not as good as before.
Just got the goat roti, absolutely horrible and worst Ive ever had. Roti was doughy and under cooked and goat was all bone and flavorless. I had 2 bites and threw it in the garbage.... Worst$24 Ive ever spent
Excellent food and service. Nice music too, lol.
Im from outta town ( fallstaff and Jane strip) visiting up here in st Catherine s. Tried this spot out, very good quality and portion of food!! Food Not as spicy as I m used too around my way but I understand why it s not up around here. Great tasting none the less and they carry the best patties (michidean) definitely recommend this spot good work folks !!!
Third time ordering from here. Food is tasty and of good quality. Only disappointment was jerk pork which was very dry and lacking flavour.
Love the goat roti!
Worst service ever since. No customer engagement.
Will be back for jerk chicken, rice with beans and peas, with plantain. A sweet way to turn lunchtime into a mini Jamaican vacation.
Great food. Try the oxtail, rice and peas. Simply delicious.
Bless food and taste so fire me coming back for sure
Great food, great flavors, all authentic. The Ackee & Salt Fish is on point!
I would not suggest this place food is dried out rotis are mush and when you call there is no customer service rude and gross wont ever go back
Curry chicken FRESH jerk chicken FRESH rice was also fresh Bare bones inna di plate $18 fi wha?
Love the food!!!
I was not impress with the food. Chicken Soup looks like chicken broth. $8 for water down soup.: next time Romi noodles
Very great food
Delicious
Great food. I ordered way too much. Huge portions. You must try this place. The Jerk Pork and Oxtail dishes were fantastic.
Called in asked for ox tail with white rice, what they give me fat and bones no meat. They didnt ask me if rice and beans are okay since they dont have white rice. So they assume that Im okay with rices and beans. Just eat the food for me..
Tried Caribbean Eatery today for the first time. I was craving Boneless Chicken Roti. It was delicious. I brought lunch over and shared with mom and dad. Both enjoyed the roti. We ordered again for dinner. Had the fried chicken and jerk chicken. Both were very good. I want more and cant wait to try them again. Thank you chefs great meal. Katie, mom and dad
Great food, excellent customer service. There was an issue with a previous order & Mike-Owner was quick to fix same.... well done Mike!
Food is not good.
Maaaan, those patties ars to die for .
This place tastes nothing like traditional Roti. When I took a bite into my chicken Roti I chipped my tooth on a bone. After inspecting the chicken inside I found several large leg bones. Never have I had Roti with bones in it(goat in the Carribean maybe) When I returned it the owner told me I shouldve ordered boneless. He replaced it with one that was flavorless, had 5 potatoes and 6 chick peas in the mix. Never again
Stew chicken to rival any homemade. Beef pattys to die for and friendly staff.
Delicious and good portion sizes, although the rotis are a little messy. Price is right tho.
Food is pretty good here. Its a quick fix. Tried the jerk pork today. I Prefer it to their jerk chicken. Fried plantain is a big bonus n coleslaw is perfect mix with food. Def best Caribbean food in st kitts
Good food
Awesome
Excellent authentic family-run establishment. Highly recommend.
Been going to this restaurant for years food is absolutely delicious.
It all went in the trash. Disappointing
I asked for King fish. They gave me oxtail gravy with it. Very careless.
Economical and tasty dishes on menu.
Mouth watering Jamaican patties!!!
Amazing food great owner. Love the place
A beeathe of fresh air for Caribbean taste this far west..
When we received our order, we noticed that the food we got was incorrect. We called them to let them know and they provided us with the right order right away. Everyone was super friendly and the food was so delicious I couldnt help but give 5 stars in spite of the mishap!
Their jerk chicken and oxtail is a must try!
Amazing food, great people
I enjoyed the oxtail
Food is always good, hot and plentiful!
Amazing jerk pork very authentic definitely will be back
Very slow service
Best jerk pork in town
Amazing patties! And great service
The food was delicious and the staff was amazing and friendly. We ordered 4 meals and we were all satisfied.
I am extremely disappointed. I just moved to St Catharines. The times on the website and google do not reflect the store hours. I drove half way across town to find the restaurant closed. Further more , no one answers the phone and there is no voice mail or phone system that gives you updated information. I was hoping that there would be professionalism and excellence for the only Caribbean Restaurant in St Catharines.
Dirty and safe might be sick
Sadly I found it to be very much sub-par Caribbean food
Have eaten several times at Caribbean Eatery, Jerk Pork, Ackee and Codfish, Jerk Chicken and Oxtail. Great coleslaw, recommend ordering at dinner time as sometimes at lunch certain items arent ready yet. Patties arent made in house and come from a manufacturer in Toronto but boy are they good! Most places in Canada that have patties, theyre absolute rubbish and taste like those awful Patty King patties heated up, this place tastes like the real deal, closest patties Ive had to Island Taste patties this side of Grand Cayman! Very friendly owners, love they have local sauces from Steam Pepper Company in St Catharines, so good. A very welcome addition to the St Kitts foodie scene.
This place has the best food. Best Caribbean/Jamaican food. Jerk pork/chicken rice and peas with double oxtail gravy. Salivating and waiting on my order. Large order of fried chicken rice and peas and a box of meat patties.
Tasty!!!!!!
Always delicious food.
Had been there a few times. Love the food. Everytime we are in St. Catherines we make sure we stop for some good food. Curry goat is very tender.
