What happened? New owners? We ordered the salad and burgers ... the salad ... vinegar, oil and chicken .... bland. I should have sent it back. Burger...not what we were expecting. We were there in the spring and had to come back after seeing the burger at the table beside us, in the spring. What happened?

Wow. What a place! Amazing food and made us feel so special for our event. We were blown away and our guests couldnt stop speaking how highly their experience was. Thank you again for everything!

I used to visit this restaurant more often. The last visit upset me. The grilled meat was tough and less tasty, alas. Perhaps the chef has changed.

First time at the restaurant, a lot of options, good presentation, cold arincini, cheese not melted on pizza, cream cheese in crab dumplings were curdled.

Service was prompt, atmosphere was nice but food was average. The fact that my burger bun was not toasted made for a soggy sandwich and fries needed to be crispier and hotter. It s a nice location to meet up with friends but I could have made better food myself at home.

Walk in for drinks and food. Only one patron person at the bar. And 2 bar keep. That is where I sit. I was greeted right away, nice. Asked if I needed a menu yes, drink, yes. I get the drink and then I am ready for another and I wait and wait and wait. Chat with the manger who is turning the lights down, romantic, I say. yes, getting there he says. I get the other bar keep who sees I have an empty drink, askes if I wish for another. Yes. I was also ready to order but was not asked she just walked away cause I guess I am not her patron. Then I wait and wait and wait to long for the next drink and I am contemplating leaving now. The original bar keep gets me that drink and I ask if she has too many tables this evening? She gets that I am not impressed with her service and uses the excuse for blowing me off that she is pacing me. So dinner and take out for tomorrow did not happen and you lost out on over $150 worth of food and no tip for her. The atmosphere was the only good thing about this place.

We recently hosted our son and future daughter in laws engagement party at Frescos. The atmosphere was perfect, the apps were delicious and plentiful and the service was great! Great food and service. Food is delicious and full of Mediterranean flavours. Great portions and they have a very unique menu.

My recent dinner started hopeful but ended in disappointment. While the server was quick to address a major issue, the overall experience left me feeling unappreciated and unlikely to return. The primary culprit was the Alfredo with chicken, which wasnt simply salty, it was overwhelmingly inedible. While the server promptly replaced it, the replacement lacked flavor and excitement. Even basic condiments like pepper or cheese werent offered, leaving the dish uninspiring. Beyond the food, the lack of attentiveness detracted further. While the server addressed the inedible dish. To top it off, the absence of a managers apology felt dismissive of the issue. In todays dining landscape, good food and attentive service are crucial. Unfortunately, they fell short in both aspects on this occasion. With so many other options available, Ill be focusing my future patronage on establishments that prioritize both deliciousness and a welcoming atmosphere.

We had a great dinner here. In fact we have had many great meals here. Staff are quick and attentive, food comes quick and cooked as requested. The atmosphere is nice and the restaurant is well taken care of. Prices are more than fair for the quality and portions, we send all of our friends and family here who haven t been and all agree it s great!

A balanced blend of European (Italian and Greek) food options with a flavor of Northern American bar. The food was good, the service was friendly. I would become d this place if you were looking for a lunch spot in St Catharines.

Very good food, not 1 person at our table had a complaint about their food. The drinks were good, our server was very attentive and nice. Only improvement I would say is it s a little dated in the bar side, looks like they ve put some effort into modernizing it but I m not sure if the idea was to keep it the way it was and not modernize it. Either way, we will definitely be back.

Ive been twice. Their salads are inconsistent. The servers never came back to ask how anything is and we had to hunt them down 1.5 hours after 2 of us were seated the second time, just to get the bill. I know its a different style and slightly different cuisine, but youll get a much better experience across the street at Linas. At frescos the food gets four stars, everything else gets 3.

We reserved the private room last night for a family celebration and it was amazing!!! Our two main servers went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and all 50 guests had what they needed. The family meal package we chose offered lots of options and the food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend Frescos if you are looking for a venue to host a large dinner. Amazing staff and delicious food! Thanks Frescos for making our night a truly special one.

Have dined many times at Frescos and always enjoyed My meal. I find it somewhat cheap that bread is not included with Your meal although according to their menu it is included. I will reconsider another visit to this restaurant.

The restaurant was a very pleasant experience, it had a nice comforting vibe to it. The service was great, our server was kind and we got our food very quickly, even when the restaurant was decently filled. The food also was pleasantly delicious. My chicken was nice and juicy and the vegetables were fresher than ever. The only complaint I had was the way they integrated spice to my meal. The chicken was tasty but felt almost blocked by spicy sauce. My fries were also not very salty. Of course these are just tiny flaws I found. For the price we paid for the meal it was fantastic, I will surely come back.

The restaurant was very pleasant, nice place and very clean. The food here was pretty great. However, I ordered my burger and it was very fresh but the meat was a little overcooked . Had a wonderful early dinner dinner here with the family. They had gluten-free options and I chose the pizza. It was yummy. I was also told the Beet and spinach salad and the steak and cheese ciabatta was also very good.

The food was either really salty or really bland. The fettuccine and shrimp had no real taste while the steak tacos were incredibly salty. The service was very nice.

I hadnt had good Italian food around here so far. But the food here is AMAZING! Pasta was great, and all salads were so good. It was a bit busy opening time. Some groups of people were waiting outside even before they opened. It already proves that this restaurant is so good. The servers were nice and friendly. Also has lots of parking spots.

Great restaurant with very yummy dishes! I ve only been for large parties with set menus and I ve really enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

Food was good. A fairly large amount of flies last time I was there however, and despite being the only customers at the time (we were early) it was a good 10 minutes between being handed the bill and being able to cash out.

I like to give great reviews, but I was a bit disappointed. The food was mediocre at best. I asked for penne, but got spaghetti with my chicken parmesan. Our server didnt check in at all to ask if we wanted pepper or any cheese on the pasta, or to ask if everything was satisfactory.The arrancini was small and cold in the middle, and I dont think Ive ever had a pasta dish without bread being on the side, so the only choice we had was to pay an extra $13 to have a garlic loaf on the side.

I am not a pasta person, I prefer surf and turf. But I when I crave spaghetti and meatballs, this is my fave place. Their sauce and meatballs are the best I have ever tasted!

Server was awesome! Cheese on garlic bread half cooked; barely tasted any garlic. Gyro: lamb was dry and hard. Onions were huge pieces like 1/4 of an onion. Same with salad, I could not eat the onions as they were not chopped. Basically it was an onion salad. I dont know that they have an actual chef here because no accredited chef would allow this meal to go out. Never will be back.If I am paying extra to go out to eat, the food should be better than if I cooked it at home.

I had a really good tapas experience on a Thursday night. I enjoyed the food and the variety the menu offered. I look forward to a return visit and another enjoyable experience.

We cannot thank you enough for hosting our private gathering of 35 guests. Thank you for being so accommodating during the planning process. I think we called about 6 times and each time we called we were met with patience and care. Our guests loved the food, display and setup. Everyone especially loved the chicken kabobs. Would highly recommend using this venue for any celebration.

My wife and I went for dinner last Friday. Have not been in Frescos in several years. The server was awesome. Very friendly. Great atmosphere. I ordered the seafood pasta special. It was delicious but I felt the serving was very small. The shells from the seafood made up 25% of the dish.

We had slow service. They were busy and didnt come around much to fill drinks. We waited over an hour for a few apps.

Good food, fast service

We decided to go for dinner and arrived without a reservation. We were quickly seated at a booth. Ordered drinks and food and then patiently waited. It was about 2/3 full with other customers on the dining side, not sure about bar side. I noticed very few tables had food and wasnt sure I they too were waiting, seemed a bit long but then several tables items came out. I ordered the brie burger and found the flavour good but a bit on the dry side, 2 small patties a little well done, on a large bun... Little sauce of any kind, so I supplemented with ketchup. Others I dined with, 2 had chicken fingers, one kids size, one full size, chicken was a little over cooked. Was a so-so meal for me, good service, thank you.

Attended a group function for approx 35 people on Dec 2. Ask for additional garden salad for our table of 7 and more was promptly brought. The garlic loaf came with 2 different pastas. All food was family style and came out hot. We had chicken with roasted red peppers, home made meatballs, fresh vegetables and roasted potatoes. Our private room was very spacious. Chicken bacon Carbonara , Spagetti with Homemade Meatballs,Fresco Club and Penne with butter parm for the little guy.Emily was great waitress. Needless to say we were full and some. Too finish night i had the pleasure of speaking to Amiel about the old days in 1994 with The Red Chile Pepper Bar and Grill. With that many years and business on your belt your doing something right. Always a good experience here. Food is delicious and the service is always great. The appetizers and tapas are so good. I highly recommend the crab dumplings and the Brie. Warm goats cheese salad is also a great choice! These are my favs, but everything on their menu is good.

Absolutely exceptional service and food. Had a gathering there recently and went with their appetizer package and each item we tried was amazing. Service is exceptional, clean and just truly a wonderful experience.

I remember going to Frescos a few years ago and being really good. We went there today and it was horrible!! We couldn t get through anything that we ordered. Tasted horrible! I m wondering if they ve changed owners because it used to be really good! Shocked! Only thing pleasant was our server.

First time for everything. We arrived, 2 adults, 2 teens. 1 teen is on the autism spectrum and is beyond picky when it comes to food. Server came over to take our order and when we tried to order chicken fingers off of the kids menu for our daughter on the spectrum, the server said sorry, the kids menu is only for kids 10 and under. When we tried to explain that she literally will NOT eating anything but chicken fingers or pizza, the server said there are chicken fingers are the regular menu. We checked, there arent. So we ordered her a pizza. She ate a slice and said, as expected, I dont like it. We forced her to eat a second slice and reluctantly she did. She left 80% of the pizza and didnt want to box it to take it home. She was so upset that she left the table and dinner early and walked home. We asked for a box anyways and packed it up and tossed it into the compost bin when we got home. Note that in 17 years this is the first time EVER at ANY restaurant EVER that denied our daughter a meal from the kids menu. Oh, well, first time for everything as they say. I mean, whats the big deal folks? Really? The principal? Really? We also had the arancini and brie apps. Brie good, arancini rice balls small but ok. I had the chicken parm, dont order it. Not good. The sauce for the pasta tasted like it could have come out of a jar or can from the grocery store. Wife had the chicken tzatziki platter and while she said it had too much garlic, I liked it a lot. Frozen fries instead of potatoes was an odd choice as a side but the greek salad was very good. Our son had the lamb pita and he enjoyed it. $176 bill (with tip). 1 beer and 1 glass of wine for the adults, water for the kids. We wont be back. Cheers.

5 stars for great food & drinks! I ve gone 4 times this month, so I ll break it down for each time 1st time we stopped in for tapas and had amazing food, drinks and service was very memorable! 2nd time we stopped in after having dinner elsewhere for dessert and some specialty coffees around 8pm in the bar, the server happily took our desert order but then told us she emptied the coffee already and turned the machine off (I noticed what I think was the manager and she eventually brought us coffee so I m unsure if he said something to her) other than that was a positive experience! 3rd time we stopped in the bar as a group of 6 for cocktails and appetizers, amazing food and wine selection again! However same issue with ordering coffee, same server also, she said she turned the machine off, I then asked for a tea and she told me she turned the hot water machine off which was questionable. However I still had a pleasant experience 4th time was tapas again and it was great, I think the best time we had there with even better drinks and service, the server we had on the patio was so nice and attentive! Overall will continue going back and bringing friends, consistent with quality of food and beverage and great selection!

Tried Frescos for the first time this weekend. It was highly recommended by a local and it did not disappoint. There was a slight mix up with our takeout order, but staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was good. Food was delicious and hot, prices were reasonable and the service excellent. Would definitely recommend.

The food is so so good and always fresh. Tried their pizza, salad and pasta, nothing from the restaurant, from the food to the service made me dissatisfied. Highly recommend.

Disappointing experience. The food is still good, but the kitchen is definitely making up for the lack of service from the front of house staff. Very hard to flag down our server to get a drink order in or order more than one thing from the tapas menu. If one person at our table was lucky enough to order another drink the server would run off before asking if anyone else wanted anything or before anyone could get a word in to ask. Our entire table felt ignored and like we were inconveniencing them.

ordered take out, i ordered very clearly a chicken parmigiana sandwich. ended up getting a spicy chicken sandwich & didn t realize until i got home. also got chicken kabob for my daughter and it s all undercooked. so i can t even give her any of my chicken because it s spicy. when i try calling the restaurant they don t answer.

One of my favourite restaurants in the area. Friendly staff, good food, and a nice Euro atmosphere. I recommend the steak and cheese ciabatta or the bacon Brie burger! Both are delicious! Make sure you have lots of time however, as staff are very slow even if it s quiet. This is certainly the kind of restaurant you go to when you re in the mood to sit back and lounge.
