I came to solaia with a big group, the food was fantastic and the service was fantastic. All the staff that served us were super sweet.

We went with a big group to your restaurant. We sat upstairs and it was very nice and cosy for our group. The food and drinks were fabulous! Our server was very helpful to explaining all the dishes on the menu.

We had 5 in our party. The food was good. The service was slow. We waited 45 minutes for our bill. We literally stood up in our jackets and we were still ignored. My partner made it known we were waiting for the bill, and still were ignored.

had the pleasure of visiting for the first time and it was incredible, the atmosphere and service were both excellent. Zion was a great server and we even had the pleasure of having one of the chefs come to the table. The absolute best Italian food in st.catharines! we will definitely be back

I took a large group (17 people) to Solaia recently. From the atmosphere to the service to the food to the drinks, everything was spectacular. We will be back.

Made sure to dine here on a short trip from BC. Had the braised rabbit gnocchi. Was not disappointed!! Certainly a memorable highlight!

First Time Customer. Made a reservation on Open Table over a week ago for a special night out to celebrate our wedding anniversary. When we arrived, we were told that the restaurant was closed for a private function! I spoke to the Chef and showed him my email confirmation from Open Table. He was very apologetic. He insisted we stay and set us up a table off to the side of the restaurant out of the way from the large party. My wife and I ended up thoroughly enjoying our evening. The food, service and atmosphere was second to none. We really appreciated the efforts Chef and his staff did to make us fell very welcome. We look forward to returning and have already told several friends of this new hidden gem downtown. Cheers! Update we are going back this Saturday October 5th.

The food is expensive and nothing special. Tried a few different dishes and they were average at best. Service and atmosphere was fine, its unfortunate the food didnt match.

Came here with family to try out some authentic Italian food - we ended up walking away feeling like the restaurant experience was lacklustre and disappointing. The food was a miss all around. Many of the dishes were lacking flavour and several items required the addition of salt and pepper. Service was subpar and tardy. We were not offered any pepper or additional cheese, and the wines were not served chilled. Atmosphere was okay. Overall, would not recommend to friends or family. Might reconsider revisiting if the restaurant tightens their ship and prioritizes the customer experience/food quality.

Came here on a date and we were SO impressed!!! Such a cozy, yet sophisticated atmosphere with AMAZING food and service. The risotto was to die for, and the chef even came out to ask how everything was tasting. Our server Zion was super knowledgeable and such a pleasure. Will DEFINITELY be coming back! If you haven t came for dinner yet you NEED TO!

Had a fabulous meal last night at Solaia Italian restaurant on St. Paul Street in St. Catharines. Our server Jarrod was terrific while still manning control of the bar. Our food was delicious and ambience is terrific. I highly recommend you visit this wonderful addition to the city dining experience!

I wanted to share my positive experience regarding a recent visit to Solaia Cucina e Cantina, which was unfortunately overshadowed by the behaviour of a disruptive party. My wife and I were having a delightful dinner at this wonderful establishment when the owners had to make the difficult decision to remove a group that had clearly been drinking all day. The professionalism and decorum demonstrated by the owners in handling this situation were exemplary. They acted with great consideration, ensuring the safety of all patrons and protecting their liquor license, which is a legal obligation they must uphold. The disruptive party, whose behavior included making a scene and capturing video outside to bash the restaurant on social media, showed a lack of respect and entitlement. Despite the disturbance, the evening remained a pleasure for us. The food at Solaia Cucina e Cantina was absolutely delicious, the service was outstanding, and the ambience was just perfect. We genuinely appreciated the quality and care that went into our meal and the overall experience. We commend the owners for their handling of the situation and look forward to returning to enjoy more of their excellent offerings!

We just had a beautiful birthday dinner at this wonderful restaurant. Lovely, house-made, elevated Italian food, with a great wine list and cocktail selection. Excellent service, and absolutely delicious food. Great attention to detail, gorgeous presentation and thoughtful, seasonal menu selection. We will be back - highly recommend!

Amazing dinner. Everything we ordered was on point. Steak tartare to start and the steak special for mains. (Yes, lots of beef!) cream brûlée and cannoli dessert. Chefs kiss! Our server was delightful and the overall ambiance was wonderful.

Some of the best Italian food we have ever had. The waitress said all the food is made fresh in-house. My wife got the carbonara and I got the seafood risotto and both dishes were prepared perfectly. Very attentive wait staff. Everything we had was well worth the money, we would not hesitate to come back.

An attractive room, with a professional and attentive staff, and absolutely amazing food. We ve lived in cities with great restaurants; Chicago, Portland Oregon, Singapore, and Hong Kong, and sought out other good/great restaurants in other cities, and this is one of the best. The branzino special was excellent, the filet in a porcini cream was too, and the special appetizer of seared foie gras on grilled peach and pork belly was flavorful and perfectly cooked. The bread was special too, baked fresh that morning and incorporating cauliflower and oregano. The wine list looked to have a number of Italian gems (which we couldn t explore because of obligations later in the evening), and the by the glass selections were very good, and the servers could give the diners a good view of what they would be like. If we are back in the area in the future, I hope Solaia is continuing to go strong, because we will definitely be back. Dietary restrictions: The staff asks about dietary restrictions or issues, and the kitchen will address whatever they are, either by combining elements of various dishes or crafting something special

Excellent food and outstanding service. Dietary restrictions: The most accommodating restaurant for all dietary restrictions. The chef came directly to the table to discuss with my friend to ensure a safe and delicious meal.

-10 stars. We were disrespected the minute we walked into this restaurant. We made the reservation a month prior and we were really looking forward to enjoying our friend s 60th birthday dinner at Solaia. We got dropped off by a limo bus and even before we were all sitting down at the table, the staff advised that they would not be serving us alcoholic beverages because: clearly we had been drinking all day since we came off a limo bus . The fact that they assumed we d all been drinking was not only rude but inaccurate, some individuals hadn t even had a drink yet! We ended up leaving the restaurant and had to find a new dinner reservation (on a Saturday) for 10 people. Luckily we are from the area and were able to call a friend who assisted us in doing so but they ruined what was supposed to be a really great night and dinner. I have in the past, personally worked in the industry for many years and am fully aware of the smart serve and liquor license rules and regulations and I would never treat customers the way we were treated. This particular situation was mishandled and this is why I am taking the time to write this review. Yes, admittedly we had a glass of wine on the limo bus but no one was by any means falling down drunk or being loud or disrespectful and the situation was completely uncalled for. We will never be returning to this restaurant and I highly suggest that if you don t want to be mistreated or accused, then don t go to this restaurant.

Excellent service and delicious, well presented food.

Took our daughter there for her 18th birthday and the food was excellent! We have enough for lunch tomorrow as well. If you want a good meal for a good price then you need to try it. They also brought her a cannoli with a candle in it for her birthday. It was excellent too!

After booking more than a month in advance for a 60th birthday party our group was refused service. Never have we once had been refused to be served in a restaurant. We arrived in a limo with a group of 7 to be refused to be served due to the staff claiming weve been drinking all day. We were looking very forward to dining here for a special birthday party however after being refused service we will never return. Completely ridiculous None of that happened, and not one of those things was expressed to us at all while we were there. If any of those it did, we would have completely understood why we were refused service. Nice cover-up to save the review

We were four dining here for the first time last night. The most overused and misused word, awesome, actually applies to this place. We all had something different for our entree. Each dish arrived at the same time; piping hot; beautifully presented and cooked perfectly. If you love Risotto, the Duck Three Ways is creamy perfection. Kudos to our server Zyan for his sense of humour and polished service. The rest of the staff were also helpful at different times, showing great teamwork. Thank you Chef for a great meal! This is a delightful place to have a meal.

We had a terrific meal here with friends. The restaurant has nice ambiance without being stuffy, the service is excellent. The cocktails were perfect and the prices were reasonable considering this is nice dining and not a chain or pub grub.

Last night, we dined at Solaia Cucina, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived to celebrate Johns 50th birthday with our friends we were transported into a world of elegance. The ambience was enchanting. Our private dining room, Luna, exuded class with tasteful décor, luxurious furnishings, and intimate lighting, making us feel like VIPs. Service was exceptional by the entire Solaia team and a special shout out to our main server Jenna who was attentive and professional, enhancing our experience with impeccable timing and care. The espresso martinis were a hit along with the vast selection of exceptional wines. The food was beyond spectacular. Each dish showcased the Chef Davides creativity and expertise, with rich, nuanced flavors. Highlights included Stracciatella soup, focaccia bread, rabbit gnocchi, wagyu steak, duck risotto, organic chicken, shrimp and scallops. The private dining room was a standout, offering control over music, a thermostat for a personalized touch and a private back patio. Overall, our dinner party at Solaia was unforgettable. The exquisite ambience, top-notch service, and exceptional food made it a truly special occasion. We will definitely return to relive this remarkable evening with our friends and cant thank you enough for providing us with a 5 star experience. Do yourself a favour and enjoy an evening at Solaia!

Excellent dining experience except for the price. Not good value. Food was generally too salty, overpower the expected subtly of herbs and spice, which were absent.

Wonderful experience at Solaia last night. Great food and service from Walter and Kayla. We enjoyed the seafood risotto and the duck risotto. Pleased that they are featuring Ontario wineries. Will be back again.

I provide Chef Gutta with mushrooms that we grow, forage and source. This is a Chef who cares about quality from farm or forest all the way to your plate! Vegetarian options: Mushrooms are great for meat lovers, but people with dietary restrictions and kids can love them like a meat substitute too!

This is a great new find for dining in St Catharines. Took European friends there and they have never tasted better risotto anywhere in the world!! Get yourself there asap!!! Vegetarian options: A perfect dish of vegetarian risotto. Dietary restrictions: Chef created a Vegan Vegetable pasta that was exquisite.

First time impressions:The ambiance is lovely, service friendly but not entirely knowledgeable (couldn t describe pomodora sauce). Were out of our first wine choice (no big deal). Dishes and presentation are great. Bread is wonderful. But menu is small and not well rounded. No chicken? But rabbit! Need more menu items. Especially for St. Catharines crowd. Found the descriptions of food lacking and somewhat confusing. (Water Buffalo yogurt?) Music was loud and weird. Lighting on tables delightful. Water service is excellent - love the in house sparkling and still. I m torn. We have a reservation next week for a large party. It s nice place, but not sure if I want to revisit with menu so sparse. Plus it s expensive. Its a lovely spot. Just need to work out the kinks. Hopefully they ll add some savoury staples to the menu. Add more Desserts too!!

Had our anniversary dinner and food was truly delicious. Great atmosphere and attentive service. Ceaser salad was one of the best we ever had.

We were so excited to visit this new restaurant as it was not the usual roadhouse. We loved the atmosphere and the service was great. The Caesar salad was wonderful especially the polenta cubes. We noticed a significant price increase from the menu on line compared to the one that we were given. The main meal however was disappointing. We have gluten allergies- the staff was knowledgeable but the 6.00 upcharge on gluten pasta out of a box is outrageous! We dine out all over the GTA and this is the most we have ever paid. This brought the price of a pasta dish, close to 40.00! I ordered the Halibut special ( a favourite I chose whenever it is available). The portion of the fish was good but it was undercooked and I did not eat it. It came with 4 string beans and 4 Brussels sprouts. The dish was 41.00. I had such high hopes for our meal but was very disappointed. Parking: Difficult on the weekend

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Solaia last night. It was nothing shy of perfect. We both agreed that it was one of the best dining experiences we have had. The restaurant itself is beautiful and welcoming. The staff are gracious and attentive. The wine selection is top notch. Most importantly, the food was spectacular. Every dish was beautifully presented and made with love. You have to try for yourself. We will be back!

I was planning to take my wife out to a lovely dinner. What I got was an amazing night for myself instead. Being someone who has never cared much for the taste of food, I was blown away by the flavor and texture combinations. You can get a fancy meal anywhere, but if you want some bang for your buck, give this place a try.

We had an amazing dinner on Friday night. Everything was delicious and the restaurant is beautiful. Great service and incredible dishes. The seafood risotto is one of my favourites but you can t go wrong with anything on the menu. Highly recommend for date night or a night out with friends.
