Casual fine dining with an Italian twist.
Some of the best food I've ever eaten and well priced. Visited on vacation and had to come back a second time before we left. We had the twisted beet caprese and the twisted gnocchi out first visit. The mozzarella was so fresh and the gnocchi were like little potato pillows 🤩. Our second visit we devored the crispy brussel sprouts and the beef tenderloin. Everything was rich and downright delicious. Sad I can't visit here on a weekly basis!
Food was great, service was good. The duck Pizza was a little lack lustre for me, very little Toppings on the pizza. The arancini and Burrata appetizer are were delicious. I love port Dalhousie at night time so we sat on patio.
Myself along with 7 others celebrated a birthday dinner at Twisted Pig on Friday October 18th and it was amazing! Our server (I forget her name so sorry!) was very good. So attentive and nice, she had blonde hair and beautiful nails! She made our night. It was busy inside but our table had a lot of space, atmosphere was lovely and the food was excellent. All 8 meals came out at the same time and most importantly.. everything was served hot and tasted great. One of the best tomato sauces in a pasta dish that I’ve had in Niagara. Portions were also great. Nothing bad to say at all, thanks for a great night!
Came here for my birthday dinner last night, and the service and food was great. Only thing we didn't enjoy were the amount of tiny gnats flying around the restaurant and in the washroom, as well as the wasps that wouldn't leave us alone! The door was open because the weather is nice, which was fine, but the bugs not so much. We still had great time overall and will be back!
I enjoyed the Rigatoni Funghi. It was the most decadent pasta dish I have ever had. The portion was more than generous. I was staying in Port Dalhousie for the night and ate the rest of it for breakfast. Honestly, it was just as good cold the next day as dinner the previous evening. It might actually be my "last meal". Highly recommend!!!
This is a great place to come for Italian food after going to the beach. Big space with lots of tables inside and outside. The food is always good, with generous portion sizes. It might not be the best Italian food you've ever had, but it's always reliably good. They also serve gelato from Gelato di Carlotta, which is just down the street, and it is by far the best and most authentic gelato you'll find on the Niagara region!
The food and service was great! We had the twisted spaghetti and meatballs, the vodka pasta, and the oysters. Our server gave us excellent wine recommendations and overall we had a great first time experience. Would definitely go back to try more dishes.
So glad I found this restaurant! We were out cycling and wanted to stop somewhere to eat. I spotted this restaurant serving wood fired oven pizzas and said we should try this. Ordered a Pesto Chicken and a Smoked Duck pizza. Excellent choices - service was fast and friendly. Pizzas were ready on 5 minutes or so. Great taste and not your standard chain store pizza. Thin crust and savoury toppings. Service from Joanne was excellent. Would come back for sure.
It was a great experience, great service and food. The atmosphere was great, I would definitely come again.
The food was amazing as always. Excellent wine selection and the service was top notch.
Exquisite food, friendly people highly recommend it
Found this place randomly as we were passing through town. I am blown away at the quality and taste. We ordered exactly what our waiter suggested - brussel sprouts, diavolo pizza and a Caesar salad. I couldnt be more satisfied. The Woah sauce knocked it out of the park for us. The only thing is that it wasnt cheap. But you get what you pay for so I get it. We will be back! Thank you. UPDATE: a year later and we are still talking about this food! We arent local to you but plan on making the trip one day soon.
I wouldn t recommend this place. Ordered a pasta with braised short ribs. The meat was so tough I almost dislocated my jaw. Waited several minutes to flag down the server as she never came by to check on us. Sent my lunch back and ordered a pizza instead. It tasted like nothing! Service was very inattentive for our party of four. Prices are pretty high, which I m happy to pay if the food is scrumptious and the service is decent. I won t be back. Plenty of other places to choose from.
Wonderful treat to eat at the Twisted Pig. Excellent authentiv Italian fare. Very convivial and cozy. We will be back soon. Parking: Good
Food was good and served in a timely manner. Service was also very good! My friend raved about the truffle fries so we ordered them. Unfortunately they had changed their recipe. We received fried with shredded cheese. I couldnt taste the truffle at all all i could taste was a regular french fry with too littke salt. We were told they changed the recipe. Well personally I think they were over priced for what we actually received. Ww were disappointed to say the least. Their onion soup was excellent as was their pizza. I would give this place another try but omit the truffle fries.
Nice place and great service!
Amazing experience.
Drink prices were a bit much should have checked prices first Parking: Park and walk Food : 5/5 |
Great spot we only had time for a pizza but it was delicious
Felt too busy ,and loud , not romantic. Great food !
The warm root vegetable salad was amazing!!!
Port Dalhousie is charming and so is the Twisted Pig. Service was excellent, food was great - I would recommend without hesitation
Great service, great food! Best meal I ve had in a long time. Server Justin was great for recommendations. The Brussels sprouts were dynamite.
Excellent service, Pizza and pasta is phenomenal. One of the BEST pasta I tasted by far. My cousin says it s even better than pasta from Michelin restaurants he ate in England few days ago.
I loved my food but the lighting was a bit too dark. I wanted to get a cocktail but 17 is outrageous, had to settle for wine. Please consider lowering the price on cocktails. You d be surprised how many will order if it was a bit lower in price.
I came here for my birthday and had reservations and i still had to wait about 20 minutes. It is extremely crowded and noisy, not enjoyable to eat your food. The food was okay. My steak was very dry. My table also got carbonara and they said it was just good.
What a night!! Food, service, and drinks were spooktacular! (We were there on Halloween). Would absolutely come back to this establishment again!
Had a Manhattan and ordered the antipasto board and smoked duck pizza. The crust was perfect. Our server was amazing. She was attentive without being obtrusive. The prices were reasonable and service moved quickly for how busy the restaurant was. The dining room is a bit cramped but otherwise it was a very enjoyable dinner. Would absolutely recommend.
My review includes both pros and cons regarding our meals. The pros were that the presentation of my spaghetti and meatballs dish was done very well. The meatballs were barely warm, but I gave them a forgivable free pass because I didn t want to take it back while they reheated the meatballs. The sauce however was on the above warm side which compensated for the room temperature meatballs. Both the sauce and the meatballs were very tasty and had great colour. But both were over-salted, not slightly but way over the top, unbearably so! That s the con part of the review. I despise the type of character that complains only to get a free meal, but I don t mind offering this restaurant personal feedback so they can use this experience, and chalk it up towards quality control. Let it be known, I have a high tolerance for salt and probably use too much on my meals. My wife expressed to our waitress the same sentiment because her meal was also overly salty, but our waitress dismissed our complaint saying she never finds the meals here to be too salty. That was disrespectful on her part and we felt it bluntly invalidated our concern. We took that with a grain of salt (pun intended) because she wasn t even aware she was doing it I still left an 18% tip. PS. I really think chefs should under-salt their dishes and leave the finished seasoning up to the paying customers they after all are the one s eating the dish.
Very good food and portions.
This is one of our favourite places for lunch and dinner at port dalhousie. Food is usually good. Sometimes pizza comes burnt. Parking: Parking near by is limited, but can park further and walk.
Lovely first time at the Twisted Pig. Appreciated all the options, the great service and the sopressata pizza!
Excellent Italian restaurant with yummy pizzas. The ambiance is great and the staff are very friendly. Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian options but not vegan ones
Katherine was our server and she was great. Our food fantastic
Great place for a birthday lunch. Service couldn t have been better and the food was delicious. Just wish you had an actual paper menu rather than a digital one.
First time, but not the last time. Wow very impressive and accommodating. Very reasonable pricing and the portions were abundant Dietary restrictions: My wife and I run whole 30, and the staff there were very accommodating to our needs and we enjoyed.
Went with 9 of us for my Dad s 91st Birthday. The food and service was outstanding. Highly recommend Twisted Pig. Food : 5/5
I ve never had a bad meal at Twisted Pig and I ve been about a dozen times. I ve tried many different offerings - pizza, pasta, salad - and it s always excellent quality and taste. The service is always excellent as well. My only suggestion is improving the noise level in the dining room by somehow adding sound absorbing elements. It really needs to be addressed to make everyone s dining experience top notch.
Amazing food!! Amazing waitress!! Amazing evening!!!
Absolutely loved this restaurant it s an absolute must try ! Kate our server was just lovely ! Thank you guys for a fantastic lunch !
Pork chop.
I tired this restaurant last night again. This time for a 50th birthday celebration. Once again left with a menu to scan and no instructions - they are lucky their food is good cause the service is really not good. 1/2 hr passed between being sat and our drink order - 20 mins passed before receiving our drinks and ordering our food - there were 3 other tables in the restaurant and they only 2 were for our server. She asked if anyone wanted another drink and i ordered one but never got it, I had to remind her. We were done our food and no one came back. We had to go up to ask for our bill. I also mentioned twice and talked about this being a birthday celebration like the balloons didnt give it away and she didnt even offer dessert.
My wife has the photos, but we got two pizzas, and both were perfect. But the dessert was not to be skipped, Limoncello cheesecake. If you like citrus, this is a perfect shared dessert. We ate at a lot of restaurants in a week, but this was the best of our trip.
Everything was perfect, food was good and so the price! Well be there again!!
First time visiting this restaurant and it won t be the last! We celebrated our daughter s engagement , the owner and staff went out of their way to make sure it was a special occasion! The antipasto board, and all the dinners were excellent! I Highly recommend this restaurant!
Being the second time at the Twisted Pig I must say it is truly an amazing experience. The location is perfect for a night out being able to walk the surrounding area and the pier. The food and atmosphere is perfect. Enjoyed the evening and can definitely recommend to all. It has become a go to spot for us.
Food was excellent, but the lights kept flickering inside even though it wasnt raining or anything, so that was weird but otherwise delicious!
Great service
My friend and I went there for lunch. Overall, the food and drinks were fantastic, but felt uncomfortable as the servicer asked us if we wanna a box when we are apparently working on our food, and its only past 20-30 mins after we got all our orders. Also, we had been asked if we need a box 2 more times in the next 10 mins.
They used to serve water and bread when you sit down. They dont anymore, well, just water.
Finally, some good pizza in the area. Highly recommended.
Came here for lunch and had the prosciutto and buratta pizza and a pasta dish, both were very good and tasty although the pizza was very thin. Cocktails were fine but, a bit pricey. The only thing I found disappointing was how run down it was..the main dining area seemed nice but, the area by the bar the chairs were all torn up, it just didn t look good especially for the prices you are paying.
Fantastic pizza, great service, classy restaurant, great location.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Nice variety of cocktails.
Always awesome, from staff to food !! Dori is a really awesome server
Love the Brussel sprouts (though I really never liked them at all!), but I do wish there were more vegan options.
My wife and I were very happy to have found this gem of an Italian restaurant. Great atmosphere and amazing servers who were all extremely friendly. We ordered the Calamari to start, spaghetti and meatballs, frutti do mari and their house made Italian sausage and red pepper pizza. The Calamari was one of the best we have had in a while when compared to other restaurants. Perfectly seasoned and very fresh. The pasta dishes were also great although the frutti do mari only came with shrimp and mussels. Pizza was also really good but lack some crispt on the undercarriage. The pizza had a great combination of flavours with the toppings used and the dough was nice and fluffy. They had an amazing selection of unique pizzas that actually made the decision very hard. The only thing that didnt make this restaurant a 10/10 was the amount of salt that was used in the pasta dishes. There was so much salt used that my tongue was still tasting the salt the following day. Im not sure if you can request less salt but is so I would highly recommend it. On a side note I saw a few tables order the veal Parmigiano and it looked incredible! Nice thick bone in veal which is on my must try next time I visit twisted piggy.
Great authentic Italian food. I had the veal chop which was to die for. I ll Definately be back for more and to try the whole menu!
Nice spot in a picturesque location. The room had a boisterous level of noise, but didn t impede some good conversation. Overall the menu was solid with great choices and in hindsight I wish I would ve stuck to ordering one of the delicious looking pizzas. We split the calamari (only average) and Arancini, which had some great textures and flavours, and the sauces were flavourful and thick . I had the chimichurri chicken, which had some good flavours and excellent presentation but the chicken was stale, hard and overdone. I should ve sent it back. My guest had the steak frites and found the overall dish pretty good. The steak was excellently prepared. Our highlight was friendly and prompt service.
Our favourite restaurant in St. Catharines. Lucky to live close by. Service is always great, good wines and food. Pizzas are top notch. Exceptional value. Food
Very upscale place. View was amazing and food and staff were as well.
My family and I came to Canada from Indiana. We didn t have Canadian money yet, we had American cash. The food and waitress was amazing, the waitress made the conversion for us which would have been $108 for our meal, American money, her manager wouldn t approve it and wanted the Canadian amount in American cash which was almost $45 more. Now that we ve been in St. Catharans for a few days we ve found this is the ONLY establishment who runs business like that. Everywhere else converts it for you. Be aware where you spend your money.
Shrimp Scampi is 5 stars
Absolutely delicious meal ! Tiramisu to die for.
I loved.
Our meals were good. My $17 martini was the smallest Ive ever received in a bar or restaurant. The manager was arrogant and defensive. Not even close to an apology. Waitress was excellent.
I picked up an order of the Gnocchi Gorgonzola, and it was very tasty, but I paid $25 +tip and its very little food.
Appetizers we ordered were pretty good. Pizza had very very little toppings and the hamburger we had was one of the worst I ve had. Very salty and tough.
Our first time and will not be the last!
Pizza, salad, and draft beer. All delicious.
Best Restaurant in Port Dalhousie! Veal Parmigiano is so amazing!
The food is so average but vibes are nice
They seem to have a fruit fly issue- they were everywhere and I needed to cover my wine with a coaster to prevent them from getting into my glass. It was not a busy evening and we were seated right close to another couple - would have been nice to spread people out further. The server was attentive.
Very nice
Amazing food and great service. Definitely will go back again and again and again
No parking. You need to pay $$ at public parking at beach. Took 15 mins to get a drink (beer is over $10). Looked over menu and overpriced. Service
We enjoyed our dinner last night!! We will definitely be back again!! Service was excellent & atmosphere inviting!!
Awesome Pizza!!!! Parking: Its really hard to find parking and its about 7 dollars for 2 hours Food : 5/5 |
Nice place, good food, the cheesecake is the best.
Dined at this restaurant over the weekend. Patio was great, weather was perfect. The HOT HONEY pizza was amazing. But when we looked around there was a trend. Every single man on that patio had a beer and the lady/ladies at the table had water because no one wants to pay $17 for 1oz of alcohol and some juice. I dont care that the rate is comparable. My point is that its getting out of hand. I cant speak for anyone but myself but a whisky sour is not $17. Do better.
First visit. Penne Pollo with red sauce was delicious!
Food was very good!
Great location, great food, great staff. Loved it. Wheelchair accessibility: Has wheelchair access Food : 5/5 |
Great time and excellent food. Dory was a fantastic waitress. Will be coming back.
Our server Hannah was great! Made great recommendations and gave us a giggle when my husband asked for a Pitch Fork (the beer) and she brought a special fork for the mussels. Made our night!
15 yr old Granddaughter was so excited to have a special supper with me. The food was delicious, atmosphere wonderful and servers top notch. She wants to come back and try everything on the menu!
Excellent service and hospitality! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was lovely. Thank you for a great evening, can t wait to return!
The food is absolutely amazing! The service people were so kind and friendly. The truffle fries are delicious.
Gray place to eat. Food is amazing. The gnocchis are pretty soft like a cloud and the portions are kinda huge.
Excellent food. Dory Server excellent!! Please have fitting music for the atmosphere.
Excellent
Tonight my mom and I came to your lovely establisbment. We had the most wonderful time on your patio and our server Sam was fantastic. Such a great atmosphere and service. We will definitely be back.
Food was very good except carbonara was very salty and hard to eat. Drinks are very pricey.$16 for Caesar. Parking: Parking is across the street
This is my daughters favorite place so when we get the chance to go out for dinner this is where we go and after dinner you can walk down to the pier and enjoy the scenery with an ice cream
Just enjoyed prosciutto pizza with burrata delicious.
This restaurant is amazing! My boyfriend and I were both soo impressed! We stopped in to grab a bite after Henley and left with such gratitude for the food and the great service! If you re in Port Dalhousie, do not miss this gem!! We had the peach pizza and the Brie appetizer, and both were to die for!!
We were thrilled, I have never been able to enjoy such good, authentic Italian cuisine outside of Italy. Service was very friendly and attentive. I can recommend the Linguine Shrimp Scampi, simply delicious. The wine selection is also very appealing and the espresso at the end was really good.
Great atmosphere, food and service!
Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options with pizza and pasta and apps. They were all good. Parking: Closest parking is beach parking lot which is paid.
Wonderful food! I had the Shrimp Scampi and it was outstanding. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant when you are visiting Port Dalhousie. Parking: Parking lot near the restaurant and street parking available. The street parking is free on Saturday and Sundays, however the parking lot is paid 24/7
Extremely over priced! Caesar salad was $15 and to add chicken an extra $12. Burger $24 and $6 to add fries! Absolutely ridiculous pricing! Food
Our dinner at the Twisted Pig was an absolutely lovely experience. My partner and I attended this restaurant for our 3rd anniversary and the staff at the restaurant helped make our day very special. The food was simply excellent and incorporated elements unique to the Niagara area. I strongly recommend the peach pizza! Our espresso martinis were too the highest quality that we have ever had and were the perfect balance between quality and presentation. The only issue is that the food was so good we left absolutely zero room for dessert. Which I m sure would have been excellent! I look forward to trying their affogato on our next visit. In addition, we were very charmed by the location of the restaurant. The waterfront location in the heart of Port Dalhousie revitalized my ideologies of what the Niagara region has to offer and the restaurants design and atmosphere matched the location very well. Thanks again!
Once again the Twisted pig doesn t disappoint. Our server was wonderful! Food delicious and atmosphere great! Thanks again Food
So delicious! The veal and spaghetti was amazing. The bread was great, and our sever was really sweet. We would definitely recommend this place.
Our favourite local. Always great food and service. Wine lovers have a nice in house selection or can BYOB for a very reasonable corkage fee. Paige provided excellent service last visit.
Great local eatery. Service was excellent. Both appetizers and our entree were very good and portions were very good
Great service ! Food was amazing ! Would definitely go back
Enjoyed a wonderful dinner, staff was very friendly and pasta dishes were excellent!!
We chose The Twisted Pig to celebrate my husband s birthday and we LOVED it! The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. Port Dalhousie is enhanced by having this great restaurant!
My wife and I recently visited this restaurant after going through the reviews to have a quick dinner and bench mark it for our anniversary to throw a party with our friends and families in couple of coming days.we were super disappointed with the service. When we arrived, we asked for a table in patio ,we were seated at a table directly in the sun, making it uncomfortable to enjoy our meal. Despite our request to switch tables, the staff refused to accommodate us. Due to the uncomfortable conditions and the lack of flexibility from the staff, we decided to leave. This experience was quite disappointing, as we had heard good things about this palce.eventually we had our dinner somewhere else and set up for our anniversary .I hope they can improve their customer service and be more accommodating to their guests needs in the future. its not just about the food ( which we didnt even try),customer has to be treated with respect!
Best Italian food
Good food. Large serving. Clean washroom. Ambiance is .
Nice outdoor patio on the second floor, excellent food and service. My wife and I had our own pizza which were both very good. This is our second time coming here for dinner and it did not disappoint us.
Made my birthday feel special, the food was delicious and it was great service
Fantastic dinner. Lovely patio. I wish I could remember our server s name, she was delightful.
Twisted Pig is a go to for us. Always amazing food and service. Our server last night, Megan made us feel so special on my husbands birthday. She was easy to talk to, made great suggestions and was quite quick despite the restaurant being full. See you again soon!
I love wood fire pizza. All the food was good. The watermelon salad was especially delicious.
Everything about this experience was positive. The food, the service, everything!
Love the food at the twisted pig. We sat in the dining bar area which has wide open doors. The mussels and pizza are delicious and great selection of wines Parking: You can park in some spots in plaza that are free
We went with friends for pizza sooo disappointed...you tell them pesto burata they bring you tomatoe sauce burata with prochute...pizza in 2 minutes was watery and felt like falling from the hand leaking...the Italian real pizzas are served in wooden plates not to become wet...they say Italian but not even close!!! The umbrellas arent covering people eating lunch there...not functional making it not comfortable to stay in the sun!!! People beside us were so close with a big dog...nothing against animals..love them but eating in a nice restaurant I dont think that should be allowed. Its not a fast food...sorry this is just my opinion. Never again
We had a lovely dinner at twisted pig on the patio. The service was prompt and friendly, and the food was presented nicely and was delicious. We had the bucatini pesto pasta and the hot honey pizza. Highly recommend!
A group of us were there for dinner about a week ago. Everything was going great until we noticed our wine. We had requested a bottle of house Chardonnay and when we were topping up our glasses we noticed the label on bottle. It was not what was ordered and it also cost considerably more. When we brought it to their attention we were told they ran out of the house and was given the other. We were not even told they did not have the one we requested. Unfortunately that put quite a damper on the evening and I myself will not be returning to this establishment. Parking: Lower level parking at the park.
The service and atmosphere go a long way here. Our server was great, timely but didn t rush us, always there when we needed her. The location is also awesome. A nice patio with views of the water. The food is very nice!
I celebrated my birthday with my family on June 24th a Monday for lunch. The restaurant was packed but we had the best service ever.. Our waiter Sebastien was fantastic and looked after all our needs. Great food too! Food
i had dinner with my wife and sister in law. first time at the the twisted pig, it will not be my last. the menu is not huge, but pleasantly surprising. what they do they do well. our table was taken care of by joanna, excellent service, attentive but no hovering, knowledgeable of the menu and her recommendations were spot on, from the food to the wine. Joanne was the epitome of professional, the three of talked about her on the way home and how she would be an asset to any restaurant. Vegetarian options: not a vast menu but good options Wheelchair accessibility: easily accessible
Weve eaten here before, a few years back, and were impressed. Now, here we are again, and its just as good or even better. Service is excellent and friendly Parking: Parking is tricky. Read the signs and be quick. Its a beautiful area thats always busy.
Food arrived hot and was delicious! Large portions meant a few leftovers for lunch the next day! We will be back :)
I came here for the second time to celebrate my birthday and it was a great experience. The Twisted Pig never disappoints!!
Ordered a takeout of Pizza and tiramisu Had to throw away the tiramisu- tasted awful We had pizza in this restaurant about a year ago- it was good then Food : 1/5
Excellent view service and food was fantastic
This was a decent place - food was good, nice beer selection. My big note: cleanliness was lacking - a lot of flies and spilled food, bathroom was dark and dirty.
Family dinner for 4 on Canada Day. No wait. Fast service. We started the mussels and the baked Brie that were delicious! Then we shared the Gnocchi (sub tomato sauce for the kids) and it definitely tasted homemade, light and fluffy. We also shared the rapini orecchiette which was unbelievable! We would definitely return next time we are in town.
Found this place by accident and it was a good experience. Will return.
Really small portions for high cost. Was slow service.
Too load inside. After we got there they said you cant reserve outside tables
The Twisted Pig Italian Kitchen(St Catharines) Described as an Italian pizza restaurant that specializes in thin-crust pizza. Located near the marina/Port Dalhousie; free parking is limited. We parked at a paid lot nearby. Food: 2 alcoholic drinks Mussels, PEI (appetizer),$19--Very good. In a light broth. 1 or 2 unopened mussels, which should have been removed prior to serving. Spaghetti/Pasta with Seafood (Frutti Di Mare),$29--Spicy, medium portion. Seafood was shrimp and mussels. No calamari. Pizza Polpette,$29--Below average The pizzas crust was too thin, with no discernable flavor. The crust was baked until it was crispy (think potato chip crunchy). Between my partner, we have over 60 years of living and travelling in Italy (Regione Campania, Lazio, Abruzzo and the northern regions). In the Niagara area, the pizza we like are the Lake House Restaurant (Vineland Station, near QEW) pizzas. The toppings on the Twisted Pigs pizza were good, and they have a lot of creative pizza toppings on their menu. The pizzas I relished in Naples (Napoli) had a thin, flavorful crust, with the dough having a slightly chewy texture and the edges baked well. Overall, we had a great server (Corinna) and the restaurants inner decor was well appointed. We came (to Twisted Pig) on a Saturday night and made reservations. We travel and stay in the Niagara/NOTL/St Catherines area about 6-10 times per year. The online reviews we read led us to try Twisted Pigs for a fine dining experience and we were disappointed. For the same money (about $120, plus tip, plus cost to park) and travel time, we would return to Lake House (near QEW) if we wanted a nearer-to-Neapolitan pizza experience.
Lunchtime on July 1st We had a reservation so we were seated quickly We had pizza and pasta. Service was quick, food arrived hot and was tasty.Sadly I forgot to take pictures. We were so hungry we dug right in. Parking is tricky. Don t park in the plaza parking lot. You might get towed or ticketed! Park across the street if you can.
Always a great destination. Great food and atmosphere. The area is great to walk around too once youve filled up on great food. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free
The pizza is amazing!! Can t get enough of it.
My wife and I met a cousin for a bit of a reunion. We all had a pasta dish and all were quite good but more than we could eat. So no dessert
Door open, flies annoying. Food was okay. Shrimp were excellent. Theres too many Italian restaurants in the area and this one just didnt stand out
Good food and service
This is my favourite restaurant! Food is always great, service is quick and the atmosphere is so nice. Such a good date night spot or even out with friends!!
The lunchtime meal we had was superb and the service exceptional. We love the restaurant and will definitely be booking there again. Many thanks for an excellent anniversary lunch.
Food tasted great and our server was pleasant and efficient! We will be back Food
Dietary restrictions: Were able to accommodate for allergies of being celiac and allergic to onions. Food
Great food. Great location . Loved the Blushing Pig cocktail . Very refreshing. Brussel sprout appetizer was delicious and crunchy.
The food was good but the service was lacking. The servers were pleasant but not attentive. We did not get water refills after asking, drink refills, or proper cutlery. They didn t come back for us to ask again.
Had a delicious meal at this restaurant with a fantastic bottle of BOTL wine
We noticed the ratings and decided to try them out. You know when an Italian restaurant is full of actual Italians that its a REALLY good sign. I had the organic salmon and a glass of their Organized Crime - The Mischief wine - a lovely blend of riesling, pinot grigio, and sauvignon blanc. My husband had the veal parmigiano and the Twisted Pig lager. It was all perfect. Its official, we have a reason to go to St Catharines. This place IS the destination. Parking is a little difficult. Take an uber, because the taxi situation in St Catharines is kinda bad, and the parking lot next door tows like its making a profit from it.
This is a lovely Italian restaurant in the Port Dalhousie area. The indoor seating area is beautiful. The dress code is casual, but one would not seem out of place dressed up for evening dining. There are 2 separate patios, one close to street level the other on the second floor. They have a lovely view of the Yacht club. Great area close to the water. Wheelchair accessibility: Other than the upper patio it is wheelchair friendly
had a great birthday party there. Parking: i was able to find wheelchair parking but it was the last one. no dedicated parking is a problem which l am sure the restaurant knows. Food : 5/5 |
Generally super tasty - had gnocchi with Gorgonzola and added sausage, PEI oysters with some interesting sauces, a caprese salad. The carbonara with chicken was a bit greasy but overall good experience. Would recommend.
Great patio, quality food, nice servers
Beautiful and busy place ! Glad I made reservation , Food are awesome !
Amazing spot all around
food was terrible ! the servers were nice but the food was dissapointing, you could barely call what they were serving pizza. when it came out I was appalled I ordered a pizza to share with my beloved amigos after enjoying my day at the beach, we decided to stop at this location since we were starving, but the food was grotesque! the pizza literally fell apart as we picked it up, it was literally thinner than the napkins ( we compared them ) the pepperoni all fell off and so did the cheese ( cheese should not be liquid on pizza) and the pizza tasted a bit TOO strongly of wood. we were offered a dipping sauce without being informed of it being an additional two dollars, AND they didnt provide a straw for our mid tier, flavorless, beverage. Dipping sauce was good though, it seems that the dip is the only thing I recommend.
i am absolutely SHOCKED and APPALED AND DISGUSTED by the service of this establishment! I ordered a pepperoni pizza to share with my lovely companionships after a fine day at the beach. We were starving, a pack of hungry wolves searching out our next meal when we stumbled across the twisted pig. Wood-burned oven pizza! we all exclaimed. Wood burned it was. extremely wood burned. Twas no oak wood i ever tasted before perhaps red wood? Not only did it taste like a plank of wood, it doubled as a yoga mat; so flimsy i could fold it more times than the worlds most folded piece of paper. My good Italian pal ordered a nice drink of iced tea to wash down that DISASTER! and apparently they expect us to drink like we are in the stone age; no straws! The pig that runs this establishment sure is twisted.
me and my friends decided to come here after the beach as we were famished and we decided to split a pepperoni pizza expecting a satisfyingly thick crust and gooey cheese. What arrived at our table was a pizza that was not only thin but borderline insubstantial. The crust was more akin to a cracker than a traditional pizza base, lacking the chewiness and depth one expects. The toppings, while fresh, failed to compensate for the lackluster foundation and the sauce was barely there. In terms of presentation, the pizza appeared more like an appetizer than a main course. The size was modest, which might be acceptable if the quality had been exceptional. Unfortunately, the thinness of the crust seemed more a cost-cutting measure than a culinary choice. Service at The Twisted Pig was courteous, and the ambiance was pleasant enough for a casual meal out. However, the letdown of the pizza overshadowed these positives. We decided to skip dessert and just leave with empty stomachs.
great service and food been there many times.
my wife and i went there for our 55 wedding anniversary we had reservations, first they sat us by the kitchen door where there was constant traffic we asked to be moved and they sat us between 2 tables of 6 with about 12 between tables and there was other open tables, it was so loud we could not talk to each other i dont under stand why they would put us there. The servers did their job and nothing more they were not rude but did nothing to make you feel welcome, it was the kind of service you get at a bar and grill. The food was good but was over shadowed by the atmosphere and service
Very accomodating, great food, great atmosphere great service. Quality of food was fantastic and I appreciated them working with us when we had part of our party that couldnt come due to an accident on the highway.
Brilliantly tasty
Had a nice dinner on Victoria Day weekend. Food and service were good. No on-site parking thou.
Maisy was awesome. Attentive, but not overbearing. Parking: Beach parking pass from the city is great! Food : 4/5 |
Our first time at The Twisted Pig did not disappoint. From the moment we were greeted through every step of the meal our time in the restaurant was fantastic. Our server, I believe her name was Sam, was especially wonderful. Shared apps of watermelon salad (super refreshing), calamari (lightly coated and fried to perfection), smoked duck pizza (rich and flavourful). Mains, steak & frites x2 (exploding with flavour), chicken Milanese (huge portion and delicious) and gnocchi Gorgonzola (very rich and satisfying) Desserts, tiramisu and what I have deemed the perfect dessert a carrot cake sticky toffee pudding! We will absolutely be back! Vegetarian options: Gnocchi Gorgonzola and a couple pizzas. Many items you can probably ask them to hold the meat off. Parking: There is free and paid the free parking lot is small though so fills up fast as it s shared with several other businesses.
Knowledgeable, courteous server. Food quality was excellent. Highly recommend this place! Parking: As we ate, cars were being towed from the plaza next door. If you eat here, you cannot park nearby. Street parking and several lots available nearby.
We have a mixed salad with the meatballs appetizers and they were really delicious. The we had the Twisted sausage and Hot Honey omg perfection! The service was very friendly. Easily give this place a 5/5!
Great summer spot port Dalhousie is lucky to have this staple. Consistently tasty food and friendly service. Food
Great food and service! Parking: Across the street Food : 5/5 |
The pizza here is very good. I also like the gnocchi but in my opinion, it had too much meat in the sauce. Love the Caesar salad and our server was very pleasant and helpful with her recommendations. Parking: You have limited parking in the free parking lot which is nearby.
Service was great! Our server and her trainee were super nice and helpful! Although when I ordered mussels I was told there was none left for the night so I gladly picked something else out, but then shortly after I saw a plate of mussels go to the table behind me. Not a huge deal just a bit upsetting. Overall though food and drinks are delicious and it s definitely a place i recommend!
Great food and drinks!
This place is just solid. I didnt expect it to be great as its a tourist area but we are local and year round food is consistently top notch, service is awesome and atmosphere suits the season. Cozy setting in the colder months and an awesome patio for summer. Spot on
Great experience , great food nice hidden gem !! Will definitely be back .
Very nice place , good food and friendly service The .wine list is a bit limited . Unfortunately it was very loud in the main dinning room.

Great service and options for celiac. We will be returning! Thank you Dietary restrictions: Husband is celiac and he thoroughly enjoyed his pasta the noodle texture was great. Kid-friendliness: We had our 11year old and our baby under a year and the staff was very kind and accommodating.
