34 Geneva St, St. Catharines, ON L2R 4M4, Canada
Restaurant & Butcher. Serving ethically sourced meat for retail/dine-in, shareable- small plates & house made charcuterie.
Guess the price of the food in this photo? The taste of the steak was not bad, but the price for just grilling a piece of meat is double that of a steakhouse. There is nothing that comes with the meat, just a lump of meat. And the receipt I received is Rib steak $136.68, Porterhouse $152.38. Grilled Mushrooms in the photo that I ordered together is $21. $26 for 7-8 pieces of fried squid, $23 for 7 mussels. Sorry, but I can't recommend this to anyone.
We had heard about this restaurant when we were planning our wedding in Niagara-on-the-Lake. We came here for our first dinner as a married couple, and it was a fantastic way to start our new marriage! Everything was incredibly tasty, and learning about how the process of everything to have zero waste was great. Will definitely be making the trip from Toronto back out to St. Catherine's just to eat here again!
Food was very upscale and on a whole other level! I tried some new apps and really enjoyed everything. All our plates were clean. The yam app was my favourite. The porterhouse steak was absolutely perfect. The only thing I would change is the shelf behind the back table closest to the bathroom. Very limited space to pull out your chair to get in or out, also didn't enjoy the lit candle at my head level. Overall 5 star food and service and a must try!
Came by GO Train today. I got the breakfast sandwich with sausage. The sausage alone was amazing. When you add to the sandwich, the next level is amazing, amazing. The bun falls apart on the last couple bites as it's a soft bun. The egg, hot honey and cheese make it a great combination for breakfast. I got a soda to go. Service was great. The place was a little busy but jammed packed as I thought it'd be.
Heard very good things about this place and decided to go. Service was very good. The food was delicious! Pricey sure but it's definitely worth it. If you want cheap eat at Chucks. Brought our own bottle of wine as they do corkage. Will return no doubt and would recommend to everyone to give it a try My only regret was not taking a photo of the steak.
Food is excellent. Atmosphere not so much. Reviews were very good so we thought let's try it out. It's not a large space , kind of like a deli setting. Theirs some open coolers with different deli and other meats shown. We really enjoyed the food , but it's not food on a budget. Porter house steak for $113.00. it was very tender and well cooked. Golden beets side dish was also very tasty. My only issue is that the prices are fine dining and the atmosphere is not. $350 with a bottle of wine for a couple is on the high side. Service was also very good. Staff is very attentive. The space is loud and tables are very closely spaced. Difficult to have conversations. Theirs a #of winery restaurants close that have similar prices , but much nice ambiance.
It is a huge surprise to find a restaurant with such a class in a small city. This restaurant rocks. You can choose your cut from a glass case. Perfection is what we all agreed on. From the bread to seafood bar to the main dish then dessert. All were great. Wasn’t thrilled about the cauliflower dish but everything else was perfect. What an experience
Appetizers were phenomenal!!! Some of the best squid I have had deep fried. Sour dough elevated anything it was eaten with and complemented the best balanced presentation of burrata I have had. Good quality of ingredients, porter house was nice but a bit over salted in my opinion. Great meal overall and would happily return
For a place that advertises the quality and flavor of the meat, Id say the best thing about our meal was the squash. I was highly disappointed in how the meat was prepped and cooked. I had the lamb and not only was it overcooked it was also extremely over seasoned, which as a suporter of fresh ontario lamb made me very disappointed. The tenderloin steak was perfectly cooked but again, overly seasoned. spices on a quality piece of meat should compliment and enhance the flavor not be the only flavor. I really like the concept of being able to pick out the cut of meat, just dont think the execution was worth the price they are charging. I am glad to see them supporting local farmers.
Had a wonderful brunch after visiting the Fall. Lit place for meat lovers!
6 orders that were cold or cool. Pork was fatty for me. All food tasted good but overpriced. Wont go back. Husband ate again when we went home.
I have been to the restaurant many times, always gets a five star from me. This time I bought from the freezer to take with me to a Villa is Sint Maarten. I purchased some burgers, seafood chowder and Raghu. There burgers were so good I didn t even take a picture. The seafood chowder was the best we have ever had. We hosted friends and served the Raghu. Compliments flew around the table. Thank you @fatrabbit for making me look and feel like the best host. My pictures aren t the best nor restaurant worthy, but the taste was.
My son chose the Fat Rabbit as the place for a special dinner with mom, with high expectations as they have a Michelin recommendation. The food was good but the service not so much. No espresso here. Server brought coffee, snd we had that gone before dessert was served. Not well timed. Then she brought out the bill before we were finished. We were rushed out because they needed the table. No Michelin Stars here. Parking: Only 6 parking spots
Lives up to the hype. Stopped in for a quick lunch meal. Fair prices, great food. I liked casual atmosphere, good vibes. Had the Porchetta sandwich, the Kimchi Smash burger and the rosted potatos, all great.
Great service and food. Definitely worth a trip even if you are not from St. Catherines!
The food was ridiculous. 1,000,000% worth the stop. The cheeseburger was off the meter. Parking: Parking lot is small
The ribeye was delicious and tender and we loved the tartine as well
Lived up to the hype! Good atmosphere and great food. And pleasantly surprised with the vegetarian options which was much appreciated. Vegetarian options: Although the restaurant is certainly a meat-focused establishment, they did have a few vegetarian dishes on the menu. Don t go here if your whole group is vegetarian (no one would be getting the true benefits of the place in that case) but if you are veg you can feel confident that you will still be able to enjoy a tasty meal when eating here with your group. Parking: Pretty small parking lot. Not many empty spaces when we were there. Probably can park across the street in another lot though, if the restaurant lot is full. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly. Small restaurant so not a lot of space to maneuver or park strollers but kids are definitely welcome. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible. Small restaurant space do not a ton of room to maneuver, but the staff is accommodating.
This place was delicious. It has a great vibe and the food is high quality and unique. We were there for lunch on a Sunday. The kimchi burger, bib salad with green goddess dressing and roasted potatoes were amazing. We will be back!
It s quite pricey for the serving size, albeit delicious. Coffee was horrible; it tasted burnt and had obviously been sitting for some time. Considering the price and size of cup, it was a real disappointing end to the meal.
Our experience at The Fat Rabbit was a bit of a mixed bag. My friend and I shared a few dishes. The highlight of the meal was definitely the duck absolutely perfectly cooked with amazing flavour. It may well be one of the best cuts of meat Ive ever had. The side of cabbage served with it was okay, but another small accompaniment would have elevated the dish. Other dishes were a bit hit-or-miss. The olive plate was great, a simple but enjoyable starter. The oxtail ragu, while promising, fell short; the noodles were overly al dente, and the sauce, though acceptable, was lacking in depth of flavour. The tartine was also just okay, overly sweet and a bit one-dimensional in flavour. The leeks were okay, a nice sauce, but I feel the way they were cooked made them lose their flavour. My other friend ordered the cheeseburger, which I tried as well. It was decent, though nothing extraordinary, and for $27, we expected some sort of side alongside it. For dessert I ordered the sticky toffee pudding which was absolutely amazing hands down the best I ve ever had. The portion was generous, and the price felt completely reasonable given the quality. Warm, rich, and perfectly balanced in sweetness, it and the duck were standouts. An absolute must-order for anyone dining here! The wine recommendation by our waitress was spot-on, and she was attentive and helpful throughout the evening, making our experience better. The ambiance is nice, though nothing particularly memorable. I found the menu a bit limited and felt the pricing didn t quite match the quality of food across the board. I feel the goal of having a limited menu is to ensure that each dish that goes out is absolutely top quality, but I did not feel like that is what we got - especially with the Oxtail Ragu which was the biggest disappointment of the meal. Overall, the duck and sticky toffee pudding are absolute must-orders and truly saved the meal, but the other dishes and overall experience didn t fully warrant the price. I d come back, but I am not rushing back.
Had lunch here today. First time visit due to excellent ratings. The food was very good. We created our own charcuterie which is a nice touch, but wasn t well presented. Rather than a charcuterie board each item came on a separate plate and crowded our table for two. The only meat option besides pork based was lamb, not a favourite. It was like a greasy salami. The 4 brothers cheese was like a sharp cheddar and I loved it. We chose olives as well, which were nothing exciting. We also shared a roast beef sandwich. It was delicious on its own with generous meat and a delicious bun. If money is no object I d recommend it, but the bill was $55, no drinks, only water. Parking: We got there early for lunch, closer to 11am, so we beat the lunch rush. Parking filled up quickly after that
Crisp flavour filled vegetable side dishes with some of the best steaks and meats in the city. Service is phenomenal as well, easy to get a table with a walk in. Very reasonably priced as well. Dietary restrictions: Very good with allergy support
Fantastic meal start to finish. Humboldt squid to start was second to none. Chose to go with more obscure cuts of meat the Picanha and the Pork Coppa Steak. Absolutely perfectly executed. Fantastic sides topped off with amazing and friendly service. Oh and the sticky toffee desert .My god!! 5stars all the way. Thanks Fat Rabbit.
Worth the hype. Excellent quality and service
Food is so delicious. Service very good. Food
Delicious food and wonderful service! Fat Rabbit is a neighbourhood gem and We will be back for sure! Our server Tristen (hope I spelled it correctly) is amazing and we went with the dishes he recommended! (The raw scallops and the grilled mushrooms are my fav!) The sticky toffee pudding was on the house for our anniversary and it s so good!! Thank you so much for the sweet surprise!! Wheelchair accessibility: Spacious restroom for wheelchair access
Was very disappointed with our overall experience at The Fat Rabbit. 2+ hours from entry, with a reservation to our main being served. A couple who arrived about 5 minutes AFTER us, without a reservation, were seated before us while we waited for our reserved table to be ready. We are also a couple! Our app arrived about an hour later. One of our 2 sides arrived 30 minutes later. We were then told, after I asked not voluntarily told, our steaks were not cooked to their standards so another 35 -40 minutes later we waited for our steaks and second side. They did bring another plate of our first side so all could be served together. We had already eaten the first one because we were starving! When we finally got our steaks they were extremely salty to the point I could barely ate half! All excuses, no explanations. When asked if I would like a new one I said no, as my backside was already sore from sitting there that long on their hard, wooden chairs. Plus I really didnt want to wait another 2 hours! This was our anniversary dinner, at my insistence as I had heard good things about this restaurant. Our server said she would talk to the manager about our experience, well apparently the manager didnt care as he/she didnt bother to come talk to us at all. Would I go back? NO Would I recommend? NO The sides and the app were tasty, Ill give them that, but even hubby who likes salt more than me agreed the steaks were over salted. $300 for 1 app, 2 sides, 2 of their small sized steaks,. 1 bottle of wine and a disappointing experience. I wouldnt have minded the price so much if it were a more positive night. Prices.are high end dining, but the setting is at best deli style. Not comfortable seating for an almost 3 hour meal of 1 shareable app and main + 2 sides.
Torn .. food was great . Atmosphere was not what you would expect from the prices charged shady menu layouts. Charcuterie section shows a actual charcuterie board image but when you order the meat or cheese charcuterie you get a tiny plate of only meat and tiny plate of only cheese hardy what you would imagine a charcuterie board looks like and definitely not what the image on the menu portrays as a charcuterie board . Then the steak is priced as 76$ for a porterhouse assuming then a porterhouse is 76$ yet when you get it it s a 2 pond minimum and in a separate area it says (per pound) so when you order a porterhouse for 76$ and it comes in at double because there is no such thing as a 1 pound option it feels a little dirty if this was in a elaborately lit well atmosphered environment I maybe could understand these prices but the dining area was high school cafeteria at best . I just want to end with I have no problem with a 500$ lunch for 2 people if I know that s what I m expecting but this feels a little misleading. When bringing this us to the waitress/owner the response seems well rehearsed as if this is a issue they have heard before and is regular occurrence.
Goodness, this was amazing! You absolutely get what you pay for - its worth every cent. The sweetbreads tasted even better than they looked, and you can see in the photo how great the presentation was! We definitely splurged and got too much food, but I have no regrets. Will drive all the way out again for sure! Everything we got: Prosciutto (really good but Id skip next time, less mind-blowing than most other dishes we had) Head cheese (great!) Picobello cheese (same as prosciutto) Tartine with pear mostarda and shaved foie gras (GET IT) Sweetbreads (11/10, perfection) Porterhouse (possibly the best non-wagyu steak Ive ever had and getting to pick our own was a blast) Creamed spinach with beef tongue (delicious beyond words) Grilled oyster mushroom with polenta (heavenly) Poivre sauce (if you get the spinach, skip the sauce - this was kind of wasted for us because the spinach is so spreadable) Sticky toffee pudding (amazing, would drink the sauce straight if it was available) Also, if youre a foodie - ask for the chefs table. Getting to hear Zach talk about the ethos behind what hes doing and having him explain each dish made the night into a completely magical experience. Oh and the cocktails and wine were great too!
It was fine a tad salty. One suggestion: When a server doesnt want a table; please introduce the new server and avoid the wait time and awkwardness. Food : 4/5
This place was AMAZING! I got to sit front row watching my food being prepared! I got the opportunity to talk to the chef Gareth a master of his trade and great human. If you understand quality food this is a MUST TRY!
Amazing dinner. Everything was fresh, delicious and cooked to perfection. A great place for sharing with bigger groups, we ordered way to much in order to try more but nothing disappointed. We ended up sitting at the bar for dessert which you get to watch them cook the meals and chat with the cooks. It was such a great experience. Definetly will be coming again. Charcuterie with burrata and zucchini Duck with red wine au jus and cabbage Porterhouse with The vegetable -leek was fresh, unique and just a blast of flavour. Funnel cake with peaches and ice cream Parking: Small parking lot space at fat rabbit, street parking near and a parking lot across the street
15 stars The freshness, the quality, the service, the taste ....all so gooooood Thank you Food : 5/5 | Service
Ordered the rib steak and did not like it. It tasted smoked, wasn t expecting that nor did I want to eat a smoked steak, it reminded me of ham. Also, ordered it medium and it looked more like medium well. It did become more pink after it rested on the plate after about 20 minutes, but that is strange because other places I ve ordered it medium it came out medium. I also didn t like that it was too salty, maybe because they use large salt crystals, and that they slice it for you, maybe that is why it wasn t too flavourful, apart from tasting smoked, which as I said I didn t care for.
Ok . Wow ! I am absolutely impressed that this exists in St Catharines. Ever since moving here 3 years ago, I have not found a single restaurant with proper fine dining food . Fat Rabbit is absolutely amazing . Its small and cozy with a lively, modern vibe. The was fantastic. 10/10 . The flavors are so unique and complex . Everything on the Raw Bar left me salivating . The steak. The steak ! Porter house was worth every penny . The steak is priced per pound and weighted , you can go to the meat counter and pick whichever piece you like . Even though the steak was a little overcooked, it was still too good to send back and redo. Crusty, salty, juicy . Jsut perfection in every bite . I cant wait to go back .
Wonderful food! Highly recommend
I ate an amazing cheeseburger!!
A well deserved Bib Gourmand!
Really wanted to try their dinner menu but their daytime menu will do (for now). Their kale caesar salad is amazing. Same with the crispy potatoes but $16 is wild to me. We had the porchetta sandwich and cheeseburger to share and the one thing that I find unappetizing is the pickled eggplant in the porchetta sandwich. We didn t have room for dessert but the grilled peaches funnel cake would ve been my choice.
Waited to be served for 20 minutes and then just left. Restaurant was only half full. Quite disappointed.
Incredibly delicious food, definitely worth the price!!!
This was my second time eating in at Fat Rabbit, and I have came by before to buy meat from the freezer. We sat on the patio on a gorgeous afternoon and made our own charcuterie. And a couple drinks, of course. It was mid afternoon so it was quiet, which was nice. The wait staff gave us awesome recommendations on drinks and cheeses, and made sure we were looked after. It was not cheap but we were a bit over the top with our selections so it was fair. They really are focused on quality there I find - you can tell they really care about their selections. Really enjoyed it. We sat on the patio which was nice - but it is not in the nicest neighborhood. They do a great job keeping the patio private from all the shenanigans down there. It really is a cool restaurant. We grabbed a few items out of the counter on the way out- there are discounts if you ve eaten in the restaurant and are shopping in your way out. Will definitely be back again.
Gorgeous spot, great service and food. Had to take some Italian sausages home for pizza night. Almost bought their t-shirt too. Handful of parking spots on-site. Very hard to decide....as everything looked amazing.
Absolutely incredible and well priced.
The bacon egg and cheese sandwiches from here, as well as the pastrami variant, are absolutely insane. Guaranteed visit the next time I m in town.
Had dinner here for the first time FINALLY and it was fantastic! Enjoyed 2 meat apps, a rib steak for a main and the service was TOP SHELF! Looking forward to working my way though the menu! Food
Sep2024: an interesting business model of combining a butcher and restaraunt! The menu is meat focussed, obviously, and the meat is clearly premium. I had the Curry Smash Burger Combo, from the lunch menu which is only available until 4pm. The burger was messy and delicious! The fries were only average but amazingly the $25 combo price included both the fries and a bottle of Miller beer! Quite a deal! Ill be back as I regular I suspect!
If I could give them a ten I would. Absolutely perfect from start to finish!
My boyfriend and I went here for dinner and it was outstanding. We ordered the sourdough bread, different charcuterie items, the green beans, strip loin steak and the sticky toffee pudding. The sourdough was soft and paired with some really great quality olive oil. The steak was a perfect medium rare and the béarnaise sauce with the green beans was absolutely delicious. The sticky toffee pudding was perfect to end such a wonderful meal. Our waitress Ashley was also great! Be prepared to spend a lot of money, but the taste and quality definitely make up for it :)
Service was prompt & friendly, a bit cool & breezy to have garage door wide open...too cool to allow for comfortable experience. Coffee was truly bitter/burnt, bacon same--someone was sleeping on that, shame...will definitely try again, but this was a bit of a miss.
10s across the board! Food is amazing, service was awesome, and we will definitely be back! Try the lamb, amazing!!
Legit 5 stars, Im not a bot, incredible.
The breakfast smash burger was amazing, one of the best burgers I ve ever had
What was once an abandoned building has now turned into an incredible restaurant.
Fat Rabbit proves that you dont have to be pretentious to be absolutely amazing! Our server suggested the group order multiple small items to share and this was an excellent approach for us as it allowed us to sample more of the menu. Everything from the cured meats (done in house) amazing cheese selection and the suggested mixed grill were simply presented but made perfectly. Everything tasted delicious and the servers were top notch as well. This is a small restaurant so make reservations! Value was maybe the best part as our group averaged around $60 per person including a few drinks! We will absolutely return to Fat Rabbit!
The nicest and most honest experience
Top 3 steak ive ever had in my life Charcuterie was very underwhelming Food
I can only say WOW! Amazing Food! Friendly and fast service. These guys have an amazing concept!
Everything in this place is done to the highest regard. The food, the ambiance, the pig head in the display case . Wild highly recommend the au poivre sauce ordered with some picanha, along with the pastrami. Zach and his team are doing something extraordinary and making it look easy
Excellent
we ordered nordic shrimp, niagara peaches, pickles, rib steak, sticky toffee pudding . food was very delicious - highly recommend trying their large cuts with pickles. i would definitely come back to this place when visiting st catherines and try their other veggie dishes with meat. my sister commented that it was the best sticky toffee pudding she ever tried my two feedbacks are 1) it was a little too hot inside the restaurant 2) not enough non alcoholic beverage options.
Excellent food, service and chill vibes. I ordered the cheese burger with gruyere and caramelized onions with a Kale Ceasar salad. It was perfect. Their prices are also ridiculously reasonable for the portion and quality of food. This place is a must try!
Best meal I ve had in a long time. Everything was so fresh, high quality ingredients. Overall amazing
I came here for the first time and I absolutely loved it. Great food and very friendly staff. Left here wanting to try the rest of the menu. Looking forward to come back.
Slow servers with weird vibes. Odd location. 4 parking spots. Quite noisy with traffic on Geneva, and homeless next door. Prices are outrageous. If you love salt, but otherwise tasteless food, I would highly recommend to give it a try. On another note, the 5 slices of sourdough for $10 were fantastic. $160+tip. 4 small apps, 4 canned alcoholic beverages.
Premium prices for a sub-optimal experience. I can understand paying a bit more for high quality ingredients, but portions were small, food was only slightly above average (also took a long time to come out), and service quality was comical (waiters/waitresses were particularly inattentive when it came to our table).
Extremely fresh and tasty dishes, very generous portions and sweet staff :) couldn t have asked for a better experience!
Spectacular food ... excellent homemade charcuterie ... deserves a Michelin star. Parking: about 10 spots in the restaurant lot ... plenty of on street parking in the area
We had burgers, sandwiches, kale salad, and a funnel cake. Everything was fantastic. The staff are welcoming and very nice. The atmosphere reminded us of California. Just an awesome experience. Highly recommended!
Some of the best grilled meat Ive had in years
We went here for my birthday dinner. This was literally the best food I have ever eaten. Super knowledgeable staff guided us through the menu to have an amazing charcuterie and entrees. I want to come back every week!
Absolutely worth the drive from Vaughan. Prices are reasonable and the rib steak was by far the best Ive ever had. Staff was attentive and very friendly, and the whole place is just so cozy! We will definitely be making the trip again.
Amazing food and service
Wonderful restaurant with a quaint patio service and an amazing kitchen!! Cheeses were so fresh and authentic!! I recommend them highly!!
Fantastic spot! Everything was executed flawlessly; from the interesting wine list, including cocktails/beers all the way to the food and the actual space. It s clear that those running the place have a clear vision of what they want to achieve. We also got a sense that the team enjoyed working there as everyone seemed engaged in what they were doing. And this comes through in the vibe that they create. Also, the portions are INCREDIBLY generous so it s very fairly priced for the high quality that is on the plate. A must stop if you re passing close to this area on your way to Toronto or Niagara and a definite regular hangout if you live close by. Nice touch to be able to purchase from the butcher/cheese/charcuterie counter to take home too.
Went here for lunch yesterday. Everything was phenomenal. Food was so delicious and all ingredients were fresh and high quality. Service was great - our server was friendly and made great suggestions. Would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. Will definitely be going back!
We just had the best meal ! Knowledgeable and attentive servers. Fabulous menu! All made in house. The flavours were phenomenal. This is now going to be our SPOT ! Thank you for a great evening.
Great evening dining at this excellent restaurant. Homemade charcuterie, great raw selection and local and whole animal cuts available. Team is friendly and attentive, the organic wine list small and well curated. Zach and his team are worth the stop, and we will come back!
I do recommend Fat rabbit for anyone visiting Niagara Falls as well it is worth it to make a road trip to eat in this restaurant. The food is just amazing, big portions full of flavors very well presented. We had the chance to be seated on the bar facing the kitchen and we really enjoyed watching the chefs cooking and serving people with a lot of love and attention. The ambiance is so cozy, friendly and you can feel the good vibes of this restaurant. Highly recommended
Amazing food and staff. Thank you. Would suggest a Niagara red or two please to keep it local-ish on that aspect.
Ordered the Tomahawk and was not disappointed. I think it was about a 1.5 inch thick cut, perfectly medium rare, fat rendered out nicely, and the taste of the grill spot on. Could not have done a steak better than that. Only thing I would ve liked was maybe a more marbled cut but that was not in the options at the time. I love my steaks and in Canada at least, many restaurants fail to bring out what a steak should be. Fat Rabbit did it perfectly. Sad that it didn t come with any sides and to dine in was double the price of the price of the meat itself to take home. Superb steak nonetheless!
It took me way too long to visit but it did not disappoint! Our service was so on point, the food was delicious....we picked the porterhouse right from the counter and it was cooked to perfection. Cant wait to be back Food
Amazing. Everything was so amazing from service to food. Our servers were very prompt, polite and super knowledgeable. Im 100% going back. The flavors all work so well together. My son said it was the best cheeseburger ever. That says a lot too. I left ridiculously full and happy. Thanks for the great time and food for my Dads birthday dinner!
Recommended to go there for nice steak dinner. Was not disappointed. Thoroughly enjoyed. Hidden gem.
A large variety of big and small plates. Gorgeous meats. Seasonal varying veggies. PICKLE PLATE!!!Really special stuff going on there. Also I need the Rhubarb Mostarda in a jar please....
Amazing experience - impeccable service and delicious delicious delicious food. Strong recommend
Absolutely incredible dining experience at Fat Rabbit. Feels at the same time very no frills and also extremely full of frills, the frills exactly in all the right places. Like the Beets and rock shrimp with Harissa that was absolutely incredible, unlike anything I have eaten and just amazing. Staff are warm and helpful, space feels really intimate and exciting. I have already raved about the place to friends and genuinely hope to be back to try all the things. This place is incredible
Burger ($24) hit on all notes! The steak was not as impressive. Rib steak was salted well, but the cook was under ($85, no sides). Would go back for the burger, not for the steaks.
Very very good. The pickle plates is fire and the burger is so tasty and juice. Definitely recommend
If youre looking for a top-notch dining experience, I highly recommend trying this place. They offer a fantastic selection of dishes, especially their steaks, which are always fresh and perfectly cooked. Everything is made with high-quality ingredients, ensuring a delicious meal every time. Its one of my favourite spots for a night out with friends or family. You wont be disappointed!
Incredible. You can taste the quality. Had the picante cotto, coppa, hungarian salami, pickle plate, porchetta sandwich. Everything was so good that we all ordered a second sandwich even though we were full. It was that good. The charcuterie is made in house!!! Everything was amazing and the price for quality is unmatched. This will be a regular spot!
Had reservations,, we waited 20 min until anyone acknowledged us at our table. The 3 tables that came after us were all served before us and were eating apps before we even got asked drink order. Ended up leaving and going elsewhere
Great meat. Awesome drink selection. Impeccable service. The perfect location for a first date. Your date will be suitably impressed and probably ask you to come back to their place for a nightcap.
Had the kimchi smash burger for lunch...wow, amazing! My brother had a beef curry burger (think sloppy joe). Lunch turned into a discussion on whos was best (mine, obviously); but we both agreed we had never had better burgers anywhere! Dinner menu looked amazing, a selection of fresh meats, cheeses, or veg. Well do that next!
Great foodatmosphere and staff..Will definitely visit again! Parking: was lucky i found a spot just in front Food : 5/5 |
Food is fantastic, great addition to downtown St. Catharines.
Don t walk, run. The food is insanely good, great vibe and lots of fantastic drink options. I would eat here every day if I could!!
amazing food amazing service. thats all you need to know menu constantly changing keeps you on your toes we got: -mussels -scallop -mushroom (feature menu) -jerk shrimp -pork chop -turnip -and a burger customized for a child
Simply amazing! Get everything to share, good luck trying not to order every dish on the menu so good. The Duck prosciutto was out of this world. Steaked cooked to perfection. Amazing service. Couldnt ask for more for our 6th anniversary dinner. Thank you Zac and team!
Love the atmosphere and a great lunch spot for burgers. The Jamaican beef curry smash burger was amazing as was the tartine. Hope to go back and try the other options
The ambience and food here is stunning! It is our pleasure to get to try out their new version of the Nordic Shrimp recipe. It is super good that we even finished up the sauce! The sauce is blended with Greek yogurt and some herbs on the top which makes the dish very refreshing and aromatic. Definitely do try out their sausages too!
Great butcher/restaurant combo. They prepare all the meat in house and source most of it locally. Awesome breakfast sandwich s, smash burgers and get the PORCHETTA SANDWICH if it s the last thing you do. Really great unique local place, keep up the great work over there!
The food is really good and the staff are really nice. I wanted to take pictures of all the food but I got so excited to try the food I totally forgot to. Fat Rabbit is designed to share your meals with a group. We got spring greens, burrata, and the chef choice of three meats. It was absolutely delicious! Our server was really nice and he made the occasional comment that was quite funny. He was able to answer the few questions we had about the menu easily. Although it is too expensive to make this location somewhere to go often, we will most likely be going back for special occasions.
Its just made you enjoy the experience very comfortable. I was totally shocked that there is a place which I thought I can only found in city like Toronto or New York or London. Its absolutely Michelin level. The food I can say is fantastic. Perfectly served with original taste while you also taste different. Highly recommend you try yourself. Have Vegan option foods. Parking just minutes walking. Close to downtown.
Hard review - the concept behind this restaurant is killer. The food not so much. We popped in for my birthday and were immediately captivated by the delicious aromas coming from the kitchen. We quickly learned that the venue is a butcher where patrons can choose their cut of meat and have the cooks prepare it on site. Patrons can also bring their own alcohol for a corking fee. All sounds good, right? We thought so too. We ordered olives (delicious) and a sharing platter from the large menu, called Mixed Grill, with a side of asparagus. We also ordered snow crab off the feature list. The mixed grill seemed like a great introductory item to find that special cut. On this occasion, the kitchen served up a chewy and tough flank steak. Its saving grace was the seasoning and flavor BUT, for a butcher, Id expect better cuts. The flank was served alongside another fattier cut of meat that had not rendered over the heat. Lastly, the plate included a very, very tasty sausage. The snow crab was presented removed from the shell - this dish elevated the menu. Finally, the asparagus was drowning in a sauce of butter and cheese. With our food we ordered a variety of drinks. These were all just terrible - clearly the bartender has little experience. The drinks also took a disturbingly long time to arrive. The waitress was nice enough but she didnt really explain the menu well and she was not quick on her feet. We only learned about the corking fee because we saw other guests arrive with their own alcohol and asked. Meanwhile, she might have steered us away from the mixed grill. Surprisingly everyone around us seemed to be somewhat in awe. I really think theyre drinking the kool-aid i.e., they like the concept that much and dont know their way around a cow ;) The space looks like a converted garage. The minimalist design actually propels the concept forward. Id say its a great use of the space and theres potential here but they need to hire more knowledgeable staff, up their game when it comes to the cuts of meat, and bring in a mixologist. Because of the theme, the second point is a must; otherwise, the restaurant just isnt delivering. Coincidentally, we also purchased a cut for home which was also of poor quality.
My party and I were not disappointed, and, we wish we had come to visit sooner! The variety of menu items, and the level they were crafted to was a refreshing experience. These folks do cocktails, meats, cheeses and sauces to the highest degree! The service was terrific, not once did we feel neglected, always someone nearby to serve. Thanks again!
Top notch culinary experience. Sat at the Bar for a dinner and a show. Server was fantastic and very cheerful. Sous Chef Garrett explained the ENTIRE menu to us while we enjoyed some drinks. Had a trio of beef delicacies including beef tartare, steak hache and the burger. All were excellent. The beef tartare came with a beautiful tuna sashimi. The burger and steak both had an amazing char and a perfect medium rare on the inside. 10/10 for food, service and atmosphere.
Great place for a quick bite. We ordered three sausage and egg breakfast sandwiches on a soft bun. The sandwiches come wrapped in foil. The sandwiches consist of a very tasty sausage patty and a delicious egg cooked over easy on a fresh soft bun. Be aware that the egg is runney, so if eating in a car, it can be messy. Recommend eating at home or at the restaurant. Maybe if asked for it to be cooked so it is not runney if eating in the car. The price for three sandwiches is close to $60 with tax and a tip. They are expensive for a breakfast sandwich, but they are definitely worth the price. I will return when in St. Catharines. Parking: Small parking lot with a limited number of seats.
Consistent and amazing every time. Ive been 5+ times since they opened and try to explore new/seasonal menu features each time. The service is fantastic and the food is amazing. Dont sleep on the burger, even if youre doing share plates with a larger group - its the best burger Ive ever had.
The team at Fat Rabbit is amazing. It was our first time dining here and we loved it. The atmosphere is great for dates, or even small groups. We sat right by the meat displays, which was great. I could stare at it if I got bored of staring at the food in front of me. The burrata was probably our favourite, but the nduja and mortadella were also great! The jerk steak with chimichurri that came with our mix plate was so tender and the sear on it was perfect. The pork belly was delicious and the sausage in the mixed plate was last place for us, but still really good. The sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream is a must. Its so soft and yummy without being too dense either. The caramelization at the top that adds a bit of crispness to it is just lovely. The only dish that was not so great for us was the feature pasta. We found this too salty for us, but this could be our problem. There is both pancetta and asiago in this dish. The staff was so lovely about it and they comped us for this dish which was completely unexpected. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good eats in St catherines or even Niagara! Parking: Not a lot of spots in the parking lot, but we were lucky to snag a spot.
The food here is excellent!! The porchetta sandwich and breakfast sandwich are both wonderful (very rich and oily so not what I would call super healthy, but man the flavour is great. You dont order a porchetta sandwich and expect it to be healthy lol). The soup changes every day but its generally good so I recommend getting the combo. Service can be a little slow because its also a deli/butcher counter and theres often only one server and one cook. But staff are really friendly and kind, and accommodating for a small child as well (they have booster seats and high chairs). I think its in a converted garage so the big side door/wall opens up onto the patio. View isnt great since its a parking lot, but its nice to spread out into outdoor space. My one complaint is that the music is always really really loud. Itd be great if they turned it down a bit to make conversation easier. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly, theres a high chair and booster seat available. The plates they give are pretty fancy china so careful not to let your child break anything. Music is very loud though, which might not be great for a kid.
Been here three times and thumbs up all three times. Recommend trying their feature menus!! Continuing to visit this place for their feature menus. Fabulous every single time!
Good, not great.
A+ venue and food, the only thing a little off was the pigs head staring at us from the meat display. Could have done without that, but whatever floats your boat!
Amazing food and environment. We will come back for sure! Food
I just found out about this place! Holy Christmas! Wonderful atmosphere, super cool vibe. Amazing music on the playlist! Jessie is lovely & super helpful. AND NOW THE FOOD; That s right, five of em!
Food was excellent, outstanding. Our services was phenomenal, they showed us around the kitchen and gave us a history of how the restaurant came to be and our drinks were always being refilled which was great. The atmosphere is so well done, the giant mirror makes the restaurant look way more spacious than it is which makes it not feel so crowded and eating in the setting of a deli is very nice. 10/10
The Fat Rabbit has quickly become one of our favourite little gems in St. Catharines. The restaurant itself is small and cozy, and the decor and atmosphere are great. Their staff are super knowledgeable on the menu and have always offered great recommendations whenever were looking for an opinion. Everything is fresh and amazingly sourced (from the meats, to the cheeses, to the produce - 0 complaints!). Ill note here that the restaurant doesnt boast a large cocktail menu, but this has never been an issue for us. Save room for the sticky toffee pudding for dessert - youll thank me later. Tip: Dinner can get pricey depending on your choices (but in our opinion, its always been worth it!). If youre on more of a budget, I recommend trying their lunch special. Its a choice of sandwich, side (either soup of the day or their crispy potatoes with an unreal bomba sauce made in-house), and a Miller Highlife and/or Jarritos for $25. The sandwiches (and sides) are SO good, and weve started making The Fat Rabbit our (almost) weekly lunch date!
Been here a few times, first time was amazing. Second time around the food was cold and meat was tasteless. We heard from a few people around town that the steak wasn t amazing but wanted to give it a try for ourselves. Would definitely say skip this one.
Absolutely gross the food was served cold and didn t taste good would never go back it had no flavour
I am a foodie from Toronto and I am so happy that I stumbled upon Fat Rabbit. To see that people are as passionate about food even all the way out west, made my visit. Everything was perfectly seasoned and the flavour profiles were all excellent and different. I actually chose the wrong date on OpenTable and had to call in and they were still able to accommodate me. Originally I wanted to sit at a table but I m so glad that I made this mistake or else I wouldn t of been able to sit at the bar chefs table and got to interact with the chefs. Overall, would recommend this place to all tourists and locals. Give them a visit!
You would be stupid not to go! Flavours spot on, best meal ive had in a long time.
Such a great spot! Delicious (esp loved the gem and burrata salads, and the grilled runner beans). Great vibe. Friendly service. Tasty wine.
Found ourselves in St Catherines on a random Saturday and SO happy we found this place. The atmosphere, serve is amazing...but the food - unreal. We had the burrata with fried artichoke and prosciutto - the way the flavors, textures and spices all work together - masterpiece. Also had the goddess salad - SO good And finally the porchetta sandwich.. melt in your mouth. Not sure if this is a known place or not but its probably one of the best places around here!!
Killer spot. Great food. Try the TBone
Got the mixed grill that comes with chef s choice of three meats. Steak was very tough, and the other meats were just Okay. Probably better to try ordering something else.
Had dinner with a few friends last night. What a great place! We will be back for sure, Highly recommend. Thank you to the entire staff for a great evening. Food
Love fresh cuts. Friendly service. THIS is the place to go! Food
Could not of pictured a better experience than the 1 I had here. The service, vibe & food is unbeatable & unlike any Ive had. Will definitely be back!
What a gem of a place we found while visiting a spa at Niagara on the lake. Its about 20-30mins drive from Niagara on the lake. A cute butcher/restaurant. Great service and amazing food!
This is my go-to place for steak. They are a butcher shop and restaurant that also offers a great selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. I love that I can go to the front where the meats are displayed and choose from their wide variety of proteins, cuts, and in-house sausages. Every time Ive visited, theyve cooked my steak perfectly. They also have a great selection of sides. My favorite is the golden beets, which goes so well with the steak. The staff is friendly and the vibe is chill. Vegetarian options: They offer vegetarian options which are absolutely delicious. Parking: The restaurant has its own parking lot. However, during peak hours, it gets full. But dont worry, you can park across the street. Wheelchair accessibility: I believe the place is wheelchair accessible, but the table layout may pose a challenge for wheelchairs.
Where do I begin... The atmosphere is phenomenal and such a hidden gem! Got the opportunity to sit right at the table over looking the kitchen. Got talking to the owner, who is also the head chef. The wine list is exceptionally curated. And the food... you have to try it for yourself. Definitely be back!
Delicious food! Love this restaurant and cant wait to go back
Stopped here on my way through St. Catherines, and it was so worth it! Sandwiches were incredibly flavourful and fresh (got the Sausage Breakfast & Roast Beef). Witty decor and selection of merch as well.
Absolutely amazing experience! Definitely recommend the family style dinner. The meat was awesome and the sides were even better, going back asap!
We had such a great meal at The Fat Rabbit. Service was excellent, pickled egg plant, delicious sourdough bread and trio of meats to sample. Sausage, lamb and pork. Fab sticky toffee pudding for dessert
Amazing restaurant with great food. The music can be a touch loud as the sound bounces off the concrete interior. That is the only downside I can think of. Overall, I would highly suggest visiting the restaurant. The steak is one of the best I ve had. Wish the restaurant all the best.
I was recommended this place from a friend. I went there and ordered their roast beef sandwich from their lunch menu. It was very delicious. I thought the prices were pretty high for lunch, but I would come again regardless.
Wish I could give Fat Rabbit 5 stars because the butchers counter is phenomenal. Some of the best offerings in Niagara region. Only lost a few points because of a particular dining experience. Ordered a burger ($25 without any sides or drinks) and while the taste profile was great, it was quite undercooked. Ill preface this by saying Im very used to my burgers being a pink medium rare, but this was nearly raw in the middle. It was a thick patty, so Im not entirely surprised. While I did eat the majority, it just wasnt good enough to justify the $25 price tag.. at that price it should be damn perfect. Perhaps it was a bit of a rush job since it was take out, but that would have given a little more time for the burger to cook and settle. Aside from this, I have returned multiple times for various meats, but might choose somewhere else for a sit down meal. 2/5 dining experience but the butcher is 5/5. Worth a visit!
The food here will remind you just how amazing food can taste.
Had a dinner there almost a week ago, it was amazing! The staff are all so friendly, including the kitchen employees with whom I had a pleasure to interact while eating at the bar table. This place is average-priced for Niagara but the quality and taste of food is fantastic. I was recommended this place by one of my friends, and I am so glad I followed their advice. Choose picanha steak, it is the best!
This place is the best!!!! Niagara region needs more of this you have to try the mushrooms
Food was very tasty. Hard to choose what to have and what to pair with what at first. But once we decided on a rib steak to share we went backwards and pick a side for it and then an app. We were surprised with a sticky toffee pudding cake for my birthday at the end. Definitely one of the best steaks I ve ever had.
Great concept. Great open bright airy feel. Im only commenting on attitude/service. Late afternoon I stopped in thinking of espresso drink. Drip coffee only. Wanted to come back based on the food/description/concept/quality, selection. I was the only customer. No offer of refill. Tried to read book but music too loud. Bill for one 4-5oz cup drip coffee was $4.52 with tax. Owner was at counter. I expressed surprise at cost. He replied its bottomless cup. Told him I was never offered a refill, no check-up by server, and did not see pricing /policy written on menu (maybe I missed it?). Heres the point....his reply was hey, it is what it is. How differently it could have gone if hed said, sorry, I guess you werent told, ...you know what? this ones on the house, come back and try us for a meal sometime. Instead, owner being hard headed on the issue, I was turned off. Restaurant businesses need customers, and a good experience builds return visits. Also please consider offering espresso drinks in such an elite establishment.
Great food but very pricey. The restaurant was full for dinner, service was great and we would like to go back for lunch. Not a place for non meat eaters (unless you just want to eat sides) as chef was unable to substitute despite assurances at the time of reservation booking. Our sides were good but all were coated in a very heavy sauce (grilled mushrooms $18, beets$18, potatoes$16). Very clean, located in a sketch part of St Catharines but free on site parking. Would recommend to try!
Great option to have a local butchery/restaurant in the Downtown Core, I usually pick up the pork chops to go, delicious.
Yes its definately a bit pricey. But its commensurate with the higher quality. Very good rib steak for two- over 2 lbs. Jerk shrimp was tasty. But, surprisingly, the star of the meal was their Sticky Toffee Pudding! Wow! Our server, Matt was also excellent.
Love the experience! The flavors were beyond my expectations, and the laid-back atmosphere paired with phenomenal produce made the meal truly enjoyable. I appreciate the evident dedication in sourcing high-quality ingredients and collaborating with suppliers and growers, which adds a distinct highlight to this establishment. Brunch was a wonderful occasion to catch up with an old friend, and the versatility of the venue for different outings is commendable. Im stoked to return, particularly for a steak night and nice wine. In my view, this place is a remarkable addition to the Niagara food scene, offering not only exceptional dishes but also a thoughtfully curated dining experience that sets it apart.
This place hands down is doing their thing. Had dinner with family and friends for the first time. Start to finish the quality of food and vibes we re immaculate. Each dish just got better and better as they kept coming out the kitchen. Make sure you check this place out! I m definitely coming back. Thank you Fat Rabit!
Just visited the fat rabbit for dinner & this food is hands down the best food in St Cathrine s. if anyone is looking for an amazing meal look no further. The head chef was very accommodating & the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend the Fat Rabbit. Cancel any other reservations you have and eat here immediately.
A must try. Best restaurant out these ends. St Catherine s has something special.
Absolutely Incredible! The food, service and overall experience is phenomenal. This spot exceeds all my expectations! By far the best spot in town. Just wow!
Outstanding tapas dishes, bring more people with you when you visit so that you can try everything! The butchery aspect, seeing cuts of meat and picking one out to be cooked for you, is a great concept too.
Without a doubt, one of the best restaurants Ive had a chance to visit in a long time. Every dish exceeded expectations and the staff were so kind and helpful. Will definitely be returning as soon as possible. Great job Fat Rabbit!!!
A great new vibe in St. Catharines with some amazing food!! Had several dishes and they did not disappoint. A great new executive chef coming from Toronto with some fantastic new foods will make this a regular stop for sure!
My experience at fat rabbit was awesome. Food exceptiona[ VERY DIVERSE MENUE and the staff that were very knowlegble and friendly Food : 5/5
Fat Rabbit recently opened as a restaurant and butcher shop. Its already a culinary gem. Combining the charm of a butcher shop with the expertise of a top-tier restaurant, its a unique experience to say the least. The service staff was very knowledgeable and helpful to us as well. Beyond the welcoming atmosphere and staff the focus on ethical sourcing is commendable. Every bite was undeniably delicious. Youre going to want to go to this one!
A unique restaurant focusing on sharing plates with an eclectic influence and a direct from the farm meat counter. Both intimate and with energy, this is a gem for the region. The charcuterie and vegetable preparations are stand outs. I look forwards to returning and getting into some of the less often seen meat cuts available to order.
...Im speechless.. There is absolutely nothing bad to say about this place. The staff is super friendly and informs you how the menu works and what ingredients are used, the food is phenomenal and the dessert just adds that finishing touch to your experience there. If I can rate higher than 5 stars, I would!
Absolutely fabulous experience. We tried all three lunch sandwiches - excellent value for $15 each. Dinner menu prices were very reasonable - looking forward to trying a steak there next time.
Exciting new tapas/shared plate style restaurant. The dishes are so flavourful. Love that its so close to home. Will definitely be returning. Highly recommended
Must try!! Unique menu with amazing flavors! Went for dinner and for breakfast and bought steaks home from the butcher. Make a reservation because the restaurant is very small.
It was really good! The menu is a tad confusing, the server helped us out. Things are done very specifically, for example we asked for mushrooms with the steak and was told they don t do that there which is fine, just something to know. Also they didn t have any selection of non alcoholic beverages really- hard when you re not a drinker. Anyways though it was a really good meal and interesting concept. Especially loved the sticky toffee pudding at the end, was my favourite part.
What a gem! They really went out of their way to make sure we had a fabulous meal. The cod salad stole the show for us so definitely try it if it s still in the menu.
If I could give them more stars, I would. This is my new favourite place! Incredible experience overall (good staff & good vibes), and the food is outta this world! How a place THIS good landed on Geneva St, I have no clue, but my God Im impressed! Breaks the standard restaurant procedures, but thats what makes it great! Lean into the experience and TRUST THOSE CHEFS... They know what theyre doing. 100/10
Absolutely fantastic food. Simple and well executed without pretense. Expertly house cured meats from the cleanest meats available and a fun menu with Spanish flare. So glad we made the trip up from Buffalo. Hope to make it back soon.
One of the best meals I ve had in a long time. The team is killing it. Great vibe. Go, order and share everything. Don t be shy. Vegetarian options: Best of local veg. The vegetarian dishes stand alone.
We had an incredible meal at FR. Will absolutely be back!
Fantastic dinner at Fat Rabbit. Service on point. Incredible food. Best Restaurant in Niagara. Thank you Chef Zach Smith. Congrats on your restaurant!
We were interested to try this new restaurant. The concept seems a little confused and Im not sure they know what it is either! That said, the food was pretty yummy. Since the concept isnt so linear, it would have been very helpful if the server was more forthcoming with information. We ordered the mixed grill, but she never told us what was in it. Then by the time she came back, we were mostly finished. I think a Chefs choice dish like that should come with some explanation. 2 of the 3 items were sausage, so it didnt feel like the best value, but it was tasty. There were a lot of staff there (like 7-8 people for a small space) and only 2 tables with 2 ppl each, so we felt like it was a missed opportunity to for the owners to offer explanation and win customers over and/or get them excited about the stuff they sell. It all looked good in the counters, but the lack of customer service made us less likely to engage and ultimately purchase something for home from the meat counter.
Beautiful night out. So grateful for this. Everything was on point. Food is delicious. Obviously the meats are an 11/10 but don t sleep on the veg and PLEASE DON T skip the sticky toffee pudding.
This place is really cool. It s cool to see that it s a butchery and a restaurant all in one and the things they serve on the menu are on display around you. The staff were super helpful when describing the menu and how it works which made things easier. The food overall was delicious, steak was incredible, potato s and sticky toffee for desser were really good, but the grilled mushroom dish this dish was so gahdamn good and had so much flavor in it. Highly recommend this place and thanks for helping me celebrate my birthday!
Definitely worth popping in to check this place out. Id like to see a few more set menu items on the list such as the sandwiches, since most things are tapas style, this can add up really quickly $$$. The selection of meat looks great. Service was really below 5 star but Ill give the benefit of the doubt since everyone was pleasant, just really unorganised.
Celebrated my boyfriend s birthday here. Butcher & restaurant combined what a cool concept. Service was good, we were explained how the menu worked and they showed us the cut that the chefs will be cooking for us. Not only do they have super good T-bone, but amazing mushrooms too! And the toffee cake with ice cream was PERFECT.
Such a delicious experience! We were happily surprised when the beef tartare came out with cheese empanadas to stuff. So creative and tasty! The ribeye was tender and perfectly seasoned, and the mushroom dish was a burst of flavour. Sticky toffee pudding was a perfect way to end the meal. Service was super friendly too!
Never thought 27$ for a burger would be worth the price, they proved me otherwise!
A real gem for St. Catharines! This is what the city needed to add to their dining options. The menu can seem overwhelming, however staff explained it perfectly. Excellent selection, cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back!
Excellent modern gourmet hip/trendy place! All dishes either met or surpassed my already quite high expectations. They offer unique takes on known and less-known menu items. Finished with surprisingly amazing sticky toffee pudding (actually a gorgeous fire-caramelized warm wholesome cake with salted butter caramel and vanilla ice cream on top...)
Amazing food. Great service .. would recommend to have a reasonably priced wine to be included on the menu. I think they start from $95 for comparable quality in Europe with similar food you can buy for 20 or so.
Pleasantly surprised!! Great food!! Loved every bite!! Service was excellent! Thank you!!
This was one of the best meals I have ever had, Zach and his team are making some of the best food in the country. If you enjoy food you should go. The service was excellent, the meal wasnt rushed, and everything was delicious. More than worth the drive from Toronto, and I will be back soon!
Rib steak, sourdough, potatoes, coffee Great breakfast. Asked medium, it was perfect. Everything else was on point. Nothing overly salty like many steak places. Just a good cook, enough salt and some on the side if you want to indulge. Napkins were actually a highlight. None of the over the top cloth stuff you are scared to get dirty or the flimsy paper garbage that doesnt hold up. These are thick boys, good to see at a small plates place that could mean getting your hands a bit dirty. Washroom was clean, very nice. Only gripe is the tables/chairs. Tables are small, barely held all the food. Chairs are uncomfortable. But service was so good and food came out fast enough it wasnt really an issue. Either they focused on how many tables they could have considering the space size or they designed it intentionally to not have people stick around talking too long. Not an issue in either case for me since I am not a 3 hour lunch person. In, eat good food and head home. Overall definitely over a 4, just shy of a 5 but Ill round up.
Crazy good. The food/service/atmosphere is honest, beautiful + no quality corner has been cut. Fat Rabbit isnt following trends - its creating a concept of its own. Keep going full throttle towards excellence, were here for it.
was there 2 weeks ago and still think of that steak we had, it was fantastic, the taste and cut perfection, great job, will be back!
Delicious house made meats especially the freshly made head cheese and smoky lardo wrapped terrine. $19 glass of Pearl Morissette red was served very cold. Replacement glass of cellar temperature red from a fresh bottle had significant sediment. This butcher restaurant does not have a bar per se, so perhaps the art of pouring and serving could be improved. Otherwise, I definitely recommend the charcuterie program. Excellent kitchen. I have already told my local family and friends to go eat there! That being said, if staff knew the customers then customers were treated much more warmly at first with much more information about the menu up front. This menu is not particularly designed for solo diners and hospitality is not particularly warm for strangers.
It s a super cute small space with great music and ambiance. The waitress was super helpful and the menu was small but had so many good options still. Wouldn t want a bigger menu! The food came quickly and was delicious. Attention to detail with presentation and flavours was great. As much as they are a meat restaurant, their veg dishes were the best in my opinion! Potentially the best mushroom dish I ve ever had! Would recommend for sure!
Perfect
Best meal I ve had all year. Concise and carefully thought out menu (both drinks and food), top notch service, beautiful space. Can t wait to go back and work my way through the whole menu.
The restaurant is amazing, as is the meat. Definitely a must try!
Had lunch here with friends. Let me start off with the good, the burger was good. It was a little undercooked pretty pink inside but I dont mind it that way. But it was a good juicy burger and I would definitely have it again. We had the beef tartar, probably my least favorite dish. Really had no flavor, chunks of beef were larger than I would have liked and the bread it came with was very seedy and not enjoyable whatsoever. One of the people on my table had the poquetta sandwich. Its not really a pork at the sandwich in the traditional sense. Its a pork chop on a bun. It was lackluster and my friend wasnt very happy with it. Very limited options for drinks. Nothing in the traditional sense of a regular can of coca-cola. They do carry Jarritos if youre into Mexican pop. All around it was mediocre. Might give it a second chance if I didnt invite from somebody someday.
Enjoyed a perfect meal. Every bite, every plate, down to the dessert. Outstanding.
This place rocks my socks and my taste buds, service is out of this world, and the plating is inspired 12/10.
Amazing place!
Wow! the food is amazing. We ordered tapas and everything was delicious. Great place to buy steak too.
Amazing and complex food togetherness. Fresh always and delicious.... Food : 5/5
Went in to procure myself a Christmas dinner, very excited to try the porchetta roast! The pork and bean soup was a delicious lunch treat for today. Very friendly service and staff!
