European Inspired, Beautiful Comfort Food
Call 20 minutes ahead to ask about availability of seating as this restaurant does not take reservations. If you are so lucky as to dine in at this quaint restaurant you are greeted with nothing but bright smiles from the staff. The restaurant itself is a cozy and eclectic space, yet radiates a vibrant atmosphere with the people dining in. The food is nothing short of delicious, I highly recommend the Latkas & Gravlax if you are fond of fish, plus it’s a decent meal size. The menu is full of various different German cuisine all as authentic as you can get outside of Germany itself, which I can testify to, so if that’s what you’re seeking you will not be disappointed- but be ready to wait because good food takes time, and there’s no exceptions for this restaurant. The bar was beautiful and the drinks solid. The dessert menu was good, short, but out of the options I recommend the Apple Strudel, it’s hard to find a good Strudel, but the search ends with this one. My company and I got one dish each, a main and a dessert with around 2 drinks each and it rang into around the 60-80$ range for price. All in all this was an excellent dining experience and a lovely little restaurant I will be recommending to anyone in the area, and I will definitely be coming back here on my next visit.
My experience today at KaiserHaus was one of the most notable restaurant experiences I've had all year. Michelle, our server, did a fantastic job walking us through their wine list. She poured me a sample of Drea's Riesling, which was simply stunning. My mind was set on the Dornfelder Rosé created by Andrea Kaiser and I was pleasantly surprised by its quality and characteristics. For my meal, I ordered the Gravlax with latkes and was blown away by the quality. The acidity in the pickled onions, paired with the sour cream and cured salmon was truly notable. I would recommend ordering the Riesling with the Gravlax, I just couldn't stop thinking about Canada's only Dornfelder Rosé; I simply had to try it. After the meal, it had me thinking of the Kaiser family and their contribution to the Niagara food & drink scene - truly remarkable stuff. I really look forward to coming back for a Sachertorte and red wine. Chapeau!
This is hands down the best German restaurant in the whole country. The food and service is spectacular. It was our first time in this town and we were recommended to go here by a local and I’m extremely happy we ended up going here. This is going down as one of my favourite restaurants of all time. I can’t wait to be back and try more of the food on the menu!
It was one of those rare, glorious autumn days where the air was crisp but not cold enough to steal your soul. The kind of day that makes you think, "Yes, the world hasn’t completely gone to hell just yet." I was walking along the park in Port Dalhousie, arm-in-arm with an attractive lady who could have stepped out of some wild dream, when we stumbled upon the KaiserHaus. A charming little place with just the right blend of old-world allure and modern civility. We wandered in, drawn by its promise like moths to a flame, and were greeted by a warm, welcoming staff that had the air of people who actually gave a damn. The interior? Immaculate. You could tell they put thought into every corner. And that patio—ah, yes—quaint and perfect for people-watching. The kind of spot where you can lose hours just watching the world spin by. They even had blankets, just in case the autumn chill tried to creep in, but on this perfect day, they weren't needed. Now, let’s talk food. My date opted for the goulash, a bowl so rich and hearty it could’ve revived a dead man. I, on the other hand, went for the schnitzel sandwich and kettle chips. Pure genius on a plate. Both dishes hit the mark, perfectly complementing the fall atmosphere like a well-played hand of cards. And as for how the day ended? Well, let’s just say that the food wasn’t the only thing that exceeded expectations. KaiserHaus delivered, in more ways than one.
This is a very quaint restaurant close to the water. The service was excellent and the waitress, a native of the area, was very helpful. The food was incredibly delicious. We shared the schnitzel and it was more than enough. We also had a pretzel. So soft and delicious. 5 star from beginning to end. Forgot to photograph the food.
We dined here a couple of weeks ago and it was the best meal we have had in quite awhile. The food was perfection, the atmosphere is lovely, service is so friendly and professional. They have a varied cocktail menu, we tried the Hugo Spritz and the Gin Daisy, both SO good, like summer in a glass. For dinner we both had the pork schnitzel plate with warm potato salad and pickled red cabbage. Everything was delicious, tender pork, very fresh ingredients. Dessert was warm apple strudel with fresh whip cream, which was to die for. I asked if they could just bring me one to my house every night for dessert, it was so good. We will definitely be back soon!
The offers a true European bistro feel with excellent food focused on Germany and Austria and a wonderful Niagara centric wine list. We had the Schnitzel sandwich and Schnitzel plate (with German Potato Salad) followed by Sachertorte for dessert with a local Niagara Rose. All were delicious. Service was superb and when the wine we chose was out of stock, they brought us a sample of another for us to try before substituting it. Well with visiting when in Port Dalhousie.
We had a delightful dinner this Saturday before a show in Niagara. We were early so happy to have a spot. The place is so quaint and cozy. The service was impeccable with kind people. It’s more on the European pace than NorthAm which we enjoyed as this reminded us of home. Had the pretzel. So light and tasty with the melted cheese that almost tasted like fondue. Got the beet salad and the schnitzel plate. Both were delicious! The meat was thin and the breading very refined. Loved the Sacher Torte as well. The cream balanced out the chocolate so well! it was decadent. We will be back!
Incredible food, the staff and the service were fantastic. The restaurant itself is so beautiful with such attention to detail. Highly recommend dining here.
Great food (the Goulash was the real deal), generous portions, employees are very nice. We loved it here!
Love this restaurant, the staff are very nice and friendly. The food is so tasty and portion wise quite large (2 people can share one meal). It has a very nice vibe, really like how cute and cozy is. Will be back for sure
We absolutely love this place and have been a few times but we decided to have my family go for my parents 50th Anniversary. They dont usually take reservations but after contacting them, the owner made an exception for me and had the tables reserved for us. We were so appreciative for this. I also had a custom cake that a brought and get were amazing by taking it and keeping it in the back for us until after dinner and they brought it out for my parents. The customer service was beyond incredible. They were also fine with us bringing a few decorations for the tables. The food was amazing as always and the atmosphere is always incredible. Just a very friendly, welcoming little restaurant. Thank you again.
Vegetarian options: These were wonderful options, delicious and inventive. All dishes were perfect! Loved it. The wines were also amazing as was the person who looked after our table!! Recommended dishes
Fantastic cozy restaurant. The wife and I had a lovely date here the other night.
This was the best restaurant we have been to in a long time! Michelle and her coworkers (I unfortunately did not get their names) were absolutely amazing! The service was impeccable! The food was all to die for! We ordered a lot so that we could try a little of everything and every single dish was absolutely wonderful. I wanted to go back the very next day! We will definitely be returning to this amazing little gem!
Absolutely delicious, dont miss it! Outstanding flavours, generous portions and a lovely setting. I cant wait to go back!
We visited this place for a late lunch after a long bike ride. It was perfect. The service was lovely, food was all excellent, the ambiance was just right.
Excellent spot and truly unique menu/food. Look no more when getting lunch/diner in st caths! Go to!! Food
Real food, huge portions, amazing atmosphere. Unlike anything else around.
Can be a little pricey, but you can beat a dinner by the port on a summer evening. The food is delicious, well-crafted and presented. The service has always been very professional and friendly. A bonus that wasn t expected is a wonderful wine selection so you can a nice pairing for your entree no sweat. Whether you re here for a light bite or in the mood for a full course you ll be able to find something you like and satisfy your craving. Parking: Big lot at the marina
Second time here - absolutely loved it! Great food, great service!
Always enjoy eating there. Such a quaint little place with delicious food.
The best dining experience I have had in a while - possibly the best restaurant in Niagara. Food and atmosphere was 10/10 - very unique and creative place!
The best food ever! We haven t had such a good food in this area before and the atmosphere is superb!
Great food, very generous portions, lovely atmosphere, and friendly, efficient service. Highly recommended.
Had the pretzel with cheese and the cauliflower soup. Both were delish. Generous portions too.
We dropped in spontaneously on a Sunday evening and Oh My God. The entire place is so meticulously picked out. Everything fits together. The menu is a bit undecided I would say. European Is the theme. As sollen from Vienna I can highly recommend the Appelstrudel. Very surprised how close they came to the Viennese original. 10/10 Also the selection of wines is exquisite. I tried multiple and they were extraordinary.
Very good food and service. Definitely coming back. Food
We had the goulash and it was absolutely excellent. Compared to goulash I had in Hungary it had a German spin to it, but it was just as tasty in a slightly different way. My partner also loved the limoncello spritz.
Had the schnitzel. It was a healthy portion and tasted delectable!
First time in Port Dalhousie and will be back to eat here again! The place is beautifully decorated-- even the bathroom!- the service was excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious. We had the Cauliflower soup, Friday fish n chips and an apricot crepe that was our favourite of the day.
Very cute and cosy restaurant. Initially hesitant assuming there were no vegetarian options but they did and wow so glad we went. Big portions and everything was delicious including the warm German potato salad. Will need to go back for the eggplant schnitzel. Definitely recommend!
Very nice owner and staff me enjoy your evening thoroughly
We went to the area for dinner and chose the first place we saw for dinner. So glad we did. I had the schnitzel sandwich and a blueberry lemonade martini and my husband had beer and goulash. Food was hot and tasty. Service was quick and fun. We will be back! Parking: Hot summer days are busy! We were lucky to find a spot.
One of our favourites. The European food is amazing, the schnitzel and the goulash are the best. The only drawback is that the place is very small, so tables end up too close to each other. But its charming decor makes up for it. There is also a small sidewalk patio.
Had the fish and chips Friday special and was not disappointed. Has absolutely become a must return to spot for us
A friend highly recommended this place to me. The pretzel is to die for. It pairs surprisingly well with the potato and leek soup. I love the decor, too!
Went tonight for dinner. Really nice atmosphere and patio which had cute blankets to keep you warm. Food was amazing and service was friendly and simple. They don t take reservations but we got in right away at 6:30 on a Saturday even though the restaurant was busy. Will definitely be back, by far the best food in Port Dalhousie!
A very special place. Amazing food (and wine/beer/cocktails). Nothing can compare to a place like this in the Niagara Region. When you know your specialties and perfect them with time, thought, passion, memory and love, this is what you get. You can really notice the difference between having a restaurant for strictly business, vs having a restaurant because you LOVE what you create. This is it and it translates to all of the dishes you put out. 1000/10
It is best place to visit in St. catharines.
Had their schnitzel sandwich while sitting across from the restaurant by the water. It was delicious, so flavourful! Thank you!
You haven t lived until you ve tried the Hungarian Goulash at Kaiser Haus. And their Schnitzel sandwiches are to die for. It is my opinion that Kaiser Haus serves the best food in St Catharines . And that is an objective fact!
Such great food and such a wonderful atmosphere. I would 100% recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a nice date night or somewhere to go for a great food experience.
Enchanting! This little bistro is absolutely beautiful! The decor was stunning and everything was extremely clean. Our server was lovely and the food and drinks were delicious! I will definitely be going back! Thanks for the great experience!
Just finished a remarkably lovely meal. Service was friendly and attentive. The food and wine were delicious. And special touches throughout made it a lunch to remember. We will be back.
Home made food here. Very tasty.
10/10
Good German food.
Had a lovely dinner here. We got the goulash and schnitzel plate, both were delicious! The decor is also amazing, very detailed, making the atmosphere lovely.
Brunch at the KaiserHaus was exquisite. Exceptional colour on the plate with a wide range of flavours. My blueberry waffle and duck breast entree was delicious. I recommend visiting for brunch before noon to get desired seating for 4 or more people. Wonderful decor and style throughout the interior of the restaurant. The level of detail put into crafting the overall theme of this restaurant provokes the eye with enough curiosity to keep the experience fresh and inspiring. Kid-friendliness: They have a high chair for one child. Tight table seating so I recommend calling ahead to reserve a table.
All the desserts, white wine and the ambience were so beautiful. Its like a hidden paradise. I definitely recommend it. We will come again.
McKenzie and Roxanne served us the best Schnitzel and Strudel weve ever had. If you havent been here, go. Now.
Words cannot express how wonderful the service was! Roxanne and McKenzie were incredible. We couldnt have asked for a better experience. The food was unparalleled, we couldnt believe how amazing everything was. You need to come here!
Im going to say it . This is possibly the best burger in Niagara, I honestly think it is. I mean so unsuspecting really when you think about all the Burger joints marketed in the region but the best is hidden in this Port Dalhousie gem. THIS IS A MUST TRY and please make your own assumptions. I highly recommend the pretzel appetizer, schnitzel any way you like it, and of course come in for the decore. Also its great for takeout, the delivery is as good in house as it is in your own kitchen table. Highly recommend!!!
My girlfriend and I had an amazing dinner. We started with the pretzel and the potato leek soup before having the schnitzel sandwich and the Swedish meatballs. For dessert we had the apple strudel. Everything was delicious and the ambiance was killer. Will certainly be back, and Im sure the port area is wonderful in warmer weather.
Great atmosphere and ambience!! Friendly service, amazing food-a great selection to choose from! We will definitely return for seconds.
A pretty and elegant little bistro style restaurant. They do not take reservations, but if you call ahead, they will hold you a table if they have it. Very crowded seating - very close to neighboring tables - not a place to go if youre looking for something intimate or more private. Our food was excellent but the service was just OK. The service was pleasant but a little slow and not particularly attentive. It was busy when we arrived - we got the last available table - but guests around us were finishing up and leaving around the time we got our food and the now empty tables were left with dirty glasses, cutlery, napkins etc. for the remainder of our visit. I dont love being surrounded by other peoples dirty dishes while Im trying to enjoy my meal. This could just be a one off - will definitely go back and give them a second shot because the food was outstanding.
Super cute environment - love the decor and style. It makes me want to take pictures of every detail!
Great little gem in Port Dalhousie. Food was delicious, portions were generous and the atmosphere was quaint.
What an amazing experience from beginning to end. I have never been to Port Dalhousie, so we didnt know where to go for dinner. I am glad to have chosen to dine here. As soon as I walked in with my party, we were greeted by one of the most welcoming smiles. Jackie showed us to our table and let us get settled in. Before bringing over the water and menus. I didnt know what cocktail to order so I asked the bartender Nick what he would suggest. He made me a drink and I loved it. We shared 3 appetizers, the olives, the pretzel (add the cheese!! You wont regret it), and the potato wedges. All were excellent, even my friends boyfriend who hates olives, ended up eating them! The potato wedges were cheesy, light, fluffy, crispy and DELICIOUS! We got our entrees and I had a perfectly cooked duck breast over their spatzel. It tasted like I was on a hunting trip in Bavaria. The sauce that accompanied the duck was perfectly balanced and complimented it perfectly. Jackie suggested that we end the evening with their apple strudel. I was told that they make them fresh every morning and it definitely tasted like it. The warm apples and the light flakey pastry paired with their delicious whipped cream was the perfect end.
Absolutely enjoyed our Tuesday lunch. So great coming down to Port Dalhousie when its tourist free. Michelle our server was so knowledgeable and I appreciate the back story of the restaurant. Oh! And the food was awesome! If you want a fun quaint place with great local wines and delicious comfort food go check it out!
Not recommended food not that good . Service was ok but they didnt appreciate our visit . They offer chocolate after dining . For all customers they give to them in nice plate but for us the thought it in the table.. If you are different than them you will not feel good to have food there
We love this spot ! Always top service, great special & wine list full of firsts. Decor is warm &inviting... out go 2 spot for date night!
Went for the first time last night. We really lucked out at getting a table without a reservation considering that there are only about 6 or 7 tables in this very small bistro. Our server was amazing. Wish I knew his name. I remember telling my friend after dinner that if I owned a restaurant that the first thing I would do was to hire our server. Wine list excellent. My burger and my friends mushroom sandwich which I tried was so delicious and so filling. Everything was perfect. Wish I had room for the strudel which I will try next time around.
The decor is beautiful! Such a gorgeous place and really great attention to detail-even the glasses are pretty! But dont go here for the look, go here for the food. The food is so good it makes you sad that you ate it and now its gone and you cant still be eating it. The menu is difficult because its small but everything looks great and you want to order it all. We had a pretzel with cheese sauce to start and it was so good I wish we werent sharing it. I had the latkes for my main and every bite was just perfect. My fiance had the schnitzel and it too was perfect. The noodles on it were interesting and I loved stealing a few off his plate. We shared the crepe for dessert and it was the ideal ending. Fresh whipped cream, sweet pink strawberries, really good crepe and Nutella During our meal, we saw meals being brought to other diners and everything looked amazing. Definitely going back so we can try the other things
A shout out to the Kaiserhaus in Port Dalhousie. They hosted our baby shower today. Absolutely wonderful food as well as staff.
Great food, ambiance and great service. Would definitely recommend!
Im glad my wife agreed to order out from this place rather than go there because its very cramped inside. Just getting in the front door with their strange wind curtain setup is a bit of a task. Also, they didnt have the side dish that I had ordered and didnt let me know when I placed my order, nor did they call me back to let me know so that I could choose something else before arriving. That said, they did throw in some free fries to replace the potato wedges I thought I was going to get. Vegetarian options: There WERE some, so, good for them! Parking: Parking across the street is very weirdly signed. Its difficult to tell if youre allowed to park there or not, whether youre eating in picking up or driving a skip the dishes vehicle! Typical city of St Catharines signage!
Great intimate restaurant. Friendly staff, food was delicious and came out fast.
Excellent food and service.
Get the spatzal!
Had my birthday party there. It was great.
Wonderfull restaurant, very good food and the service is at 100%, on top the view is very relaxing I highly recommend this place, merci beaucoup
I highly recommend this restaurant, charming, good food and accueil perfect
Amazing food and great service. Definitely will be coming back to enjoy more that they have to offer!
Our family chose this spot for dinner while on vacation and we are still talking about it two days later! Everything was authentic and delicious with the perfect little touches on every meal. We collectively tried and loved the schnitzel, the duck, the house salad, the fish and chips and the spaetzel and cheese... all were absolutely delicious. It felt like eating the perfect home cooked meal while being away from home. And the service was so genuine and friendly. If we lived here, wed be regulars!
KaiserHaus is magical... Everything resonates ... the location (close to parking), patio (overlooking the pier), menu (serious favs), food (more serious favs, - previous related to dark & stormy and Pimms), and Michelle who leads with her
One of my favorite restaurants in the Niagara region. Highly recommended.
Everything about our time at KaiserHaus was thoroughly enjoyable. The decor is unique to other restaurants and such a charming esthetic. We cant wait to go back and sit on the patio. The service was above and beyond! It is a small restaurant, and when full, has a lively atmosphere, but every customer was tended to in such a friendly manner, you truly feel valued with service like this. Most importantly, the food! I ordered the cauliflower soup, which was so flavourful yet light and refreshing. My boyfriend had the latkes, and they were crispy and herbal. For our mains, we went intentionally on a friday so that I could have the fish and chips, and it was one of the best meals I have eaten in a long time. The frites were seasoned perfectly. The fish was substantial, perfectly crispy and not overly battered, served with tartar sauce that I would buy if they bottled! Even the brusselsprout and apple slaw, which I wasnt sure that I would enjoy, was perfectly balanced and surprisingly delightful! I ate every single bite on my plate. My boyfriend had the burger and wasnt sure how it would be, as the restaurant is geared towards Schnitzel, but it was perfectly done! Large, flavourful, and outdoing burgers from restaurants we have tried that specialize in burgers! I was so full that I ordered dessert to go, and the strudel filled our home with the most amazing smell as I warmed it in the oven. It was packed with apple, buttery, and decadent. We can not wait to come again!
Excellent food, service, atmosphere and prices. I ve been here a few times and it s always a good time.
My husband and I went tonight to celebrate my birthday. We have been looking for a new favorite European restaurant and think weve found it! A cozy little place tucked in Port Dalhousie, this place boasts excellently cooked European cuisine. I had the pork schnitzel plate with German potato salad and pickled cabbage as well as a crepe for dessert. Everything was cooked absolutely perfectly, the batter used on the schnitzel was beautifully light yet Crispy. The potatoes were well cooked and seasoned well and was a pleasant surprise for me. If I had any critique it was that I prefer my pickled cabbage a bit more vinegary and for the schnitzel to have slightly more Seasoning (but that is only me being very critical as this meal was near perfection). Portion sizes are huge and generous for the price point. The crepe consisted of strawberries, blackberries and Nutella topped with a generous amount of Icing Sugar and Whipped cream. It was a wonderfully balanced dessert and an excellent way to end the meal. I will mention the Star of the night was the apple strudel my husband had, it was one of the best desserts weve ever had; amazingly Crispy, Flakey and flavourful. If you get anything while you are there, make sure it is the strudel! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall recommend 100%
So happy they are open again. The BEST schnitzel by far. Will be back soon
One of the most amazing axperiences. Food was great, definitely will be back.
Enjoyed the most amazing and delicious lunch on the beautiful patio! The inside has the most uniquely beautiful and cozy ambiance. The service was so friendly and warm (thank you Michelle) You can taste the love and care in every bite!! A must visit!! You ll be back again and again! Can t wait to go back!!
Myself and my friend Kristin ate lunch at this gem today. The place is small but the impression is big. It s all the little details that make this a wonderful experience. From the decor to the staff to the plating, it is obvious that a lot of thought has gone into everything that s done here. The menu is small but everything looks amazing and I had a hard time choosing. The beet salad was light, fresh and delicious and the latkes had a beautiful crisp on them. Of course I tried the strudel an abundance of tart apples with a bit of crunch and very delicate and rich tasting pastry. Just heavenly! Amazing food, excellent service from Michelle and sunshine on the patio what more could you ask for? I will definitely be back.
Ammmmmazing customer service!! Unique, love the vibe ! Michelle was outstanding! The food and drinks sooo good! Come visit ! You will not be disappointed!! The in house Reisling wow!!
My husband, toddler, and I ate here for dinner. Its a super cute, intimate space, with beautiful decor all inspired by A Midsummer Nights Dream. The staff are very friendly and they were so accommodating and kind for my toddler even though its clear they never have kids that young there (they dont have high chairs, though they do have a kid-sized schnitzel platter!). The menu is relatively small (which I like) but the food was just okay for the price and it took a really long time to come (we waited for almost an hour, which is a lot for a toddler!). The pretzel was super good and of course the kid loved it so I definitely recommend that. The schnitzel seems to be a kind of signature dish and it was okay but not amazing (a little dry). For the schnitzel sandwich, the bun is way too small for the size of the schnitzel so it all just kind of fell apart. Overall Id say its a nice atmosphere with okay but overpriced food. Note that theres only one washroom. Kid-friendliness: They were really nice and friendly regarding bringing a toddler and tried their best to accommodate us even though they had no high chairs. The schnitzel platter for kids is great, as its got the schnitzel cut into strips and fries. But because of the small space, only one washroom, and lack of high chairs I wouldnt recommend bringing a small child here.
The best place in St. Catharines. Period.
beautiful little spot. visited on the long weekend in May. drinks were pricey but so yum had the vieni spritz, worth it lovely presentation. sat on patio, very busy with street so close by.
What a treasure to discover! We had the most wonderful dinner - the food was spot on (excellent Schnitzel, Spaetzle and red cabbage, not to mention the most delicious warm Pretzels!!!), service was friendly and knowledgeable and the space itself so charming and welcoming. So much attention to detail, including the most beautiful decoration on the drinks as well with some seasonal edible flowers. Loved it and will definitely be back next time we are into town!
One of my favourite places. Delicious schnitzel!
LOVE IT!! Food and cocktails both measure up to any foodie out there. I hate that I live an hour away, and my only relative in the area has moved away, so now Im going to have to drive down for the sole purpose of devouring a gravlax plate with a white negroni!
Stopped into this quaint bistro. The food was so good. You gotta try the pretzels and schnitzel. The server was great as well so friendly!
Great place for lunch with family or friends.
Excellent experience! My wife and I enjoyed a glass of wine and expertly prepared Schnitzel on the patio overlooking the marina, on a beautiful early-summer afternoon. Good wine list, awesome food, outstanding atmosphere and friendly service. A treat for foodies who know what to look for and recognize excellence. Go!
Just lovely. Our waitress was fantastic. Accommodating and personable. Food was ample and very good. Recommended it to about six friends already.
A very small venue, but the food was exceptionally tasty and very well done, definite Definitely worth a visit
Outstanding food and drinks !!
Cozy place on the water with a beautiful and artistic atmosphere. And homemade German food, I can recommend the schnitzel plate! I will definitely come back here to try more menu items.
No matter how big or hungry you are you will not finish the schnitzel plate. Great food and service!
The food was awesome! Tried the pretzel (get the cheese sauce, its worth it) and the Haus Soup (cauliflower & dill soup) as appetizers. The schnitzel with spaetzle was outstanding. My dining companions had potato latkes (yummy!) and gravlax (not my thing but they loved it!). Too full for dessert - next time!
Nice schnitzel, generous portion, could use a bit more seasoning. Love their pretzels, and apple strudel. Its a nice size menu. Just enough selection. Love the cozy decor.
A hidden gem in Port Dalhousi! Was just there for dinner and will go again without any hesitation. Food was so delicious. Food : 5/5
Excellent food. Schnitzel is a great choice!
Great food and relaxing atmosphere
Delicious food and friendly professional service. Loved the salad, the fish and chips and the burger. The apple strudel is a must try a great surprise. We ll definitely be back!
Food presentation was good, but duck was a little on the saltier side and service took longer than expected. Atmosphere overall felt nice despite being seated outdoors.
We love the Kaiser house. The food is always spectacular as it the service. We love Jackie she always makes us feel so at home. She gives great recommendations. You will never be disappointed
The food and service is spectacular. The ambiance is charming and you feel like you are in Europe. The staff is amazing! My favorite is schnitzel!!
Wow! What a great experience! This restaurant is So cute and the food was delicious! My husband and I were hesitate on brining our ten month old BUT the staff was amazing with him. This was by far our favorite restaurant we went to on our vacation.
Very nice spot with incredibly generous portions. The waitresses are very nice, and the atmosphere is wonderful. The food itself tastes homemade, and I enjoy that. It did take a little while to took, but its worth the wait. Definitely a nice nook to grab a bite in Port Dalhousie. Five stars. Parking: Its in Port Dalhousie, which only has paid parking. Nothing can be done about that, it is what it is.
Hip, friendly staff.
Exorbitant prices for portion sizes, walked out.
Amazing place. The food was great, my schnitzel was perfection. This small, quaint spot is a gem. The staff were very nice. Cant wait to go back.
Everything about our experience was perfect. The atmosphere is so sweet down to every detail. Thank you to Molly for the amazing service. A new favourite
A small and cozy place around St Catherines Lakeshore area. Great quality food and amazing service. Gotta say, positions are quite large so be aware
What a quaint adorable little Gem in Dalhousie! Service was splendid, food was excellent, beer was cold and the atmos was awesome!!
Great food quality and service. Portions are good size. I recommend schnitzel and goulash for mains. Wedges and pretzel were delicious apps. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
We celebrated a birthday party and our hosts did a great job. Really enjoyed the appetizers and the schnitzels! Parking: Lots of parking as its next to the marina.
Such a nice place. Great atmosphere, feels cozy and comfortable. Great service and great food. I had the vegetarian sandwich and it was fantastic. They also have a patio facing the marina and blankets for cold days. Love the decor inside. Parking: Close by parking free in the fall and winter, $3 in spring and summer.
Probably the best restaurant we found on our 21 day trip. The schnitzel was super tasty and the atmosphere was very nice and rustic. The service was also very friendly. Any time!
My company booked this restaurant for our Christmas party. It is small, but quite lovely, the atmosphere is very inviting, so was the staff. The food they prepared was well planned and delicious. Highly recommend this little gem in the heart of Port Dalhousie.
Incredibly fresh food! Best soup I ve ever tasted. Beautiful atmosphere. Will be back again and again.
The best Euro food in town. When walking by the Port park you can smell the authentic cuisine. Reminds me of my childhood at my uncles restaurant in Kalocsa, Hungary
Is excellent food good service friendly staff.. However the restaurant temperature untemperature required a jacket
Had the most lovely dining experience here, staff was super friendly, the duck & waffles were absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere just topped off the entire meal!
Great food and great service
Goulash, schnitzel.
Cosy bistro visited twice and not disappointed. Amazing service good wine selection and good food
INCREDIBLE!!!!! Such a beautiful place!!! The vibe in there is just Zen! Small, quaint and the perfect atmosphere for a romantic dinner or a pleasant get together!! We did the romantic dinner for two and both my wife and I just love this restaurant!! The decor is subtle but has a beautiful traditional Germanic look and feel to it. Jackie (Jacqui, Jacky ) the host and table attendant was just wonderful!! Took care of the whole floor and was just a joy to have there, shes a beautiful addition to this place! The food!!!!! OFF. THE. HOOK!!! Brilliant proportions, the display is artistic and creative. The taste is exquisite!! Prices are on par with what you would expect and so worth every bite!! Well definitely be going back when were in the area!!!! Just go!!! Its in Port Dalhousie and SOOOO worth it!!!!!
Found this place while we went to a hockey tournament. Reviews looked good so we went. Incredible We arrived at 11.30 am just when they Opened. We needed a table for 12. Cocktail, Food, dessert so good Good portion and good service. Will be back next time we are down this way thanks for a great lunch experience
This place is gorgeous!!! We got the schnitzel and it was dynamite! Go!
Our Airbnb was just down the road and the reviews and menu looked quite good. KaiserHaus did not disappoint. The wait staff were all very friendly, great decor/atmosphere, and the food was devilishly delicious! Some great wines on offer and they made a hell of a Pimm s cup. Will be going back tomorrow for Sunday brunch and really looking forward to it. Can t recommend this place enough!
Decided to go and try the Kaiser house today after looking at their menu online. Not the food menu, but the wine menu. For a restaurant to have so many perfect selections available I figured why not go try the food. Thankfully the food did not disappoint. We had the most delicious buttery pretzel followed with goolash and the biggest schnitzel I ve ever seen. On the wine front we decided to have the Fogolar Cab Franc and it was a great pairing at a reasonable price. Thanks to Jackie and the team for a great evening. We will be back
The staff are great, food delicious. Have been twice now outside once and inside once. Highly recommend!
Ordered a beautiful and yummy birthday cake..thank you!
OK I am IN LOVE wirh this place. It is so cozy inside amd intimate, small and a great place to make new friends . The food is just amazing . The burger and the schnitzel plate were fantastic . Jackie knows how to make great cocktails and the wines are from local wineries. Service was awesome and friendly. Will 100% be back .
Wonderful dinner! Lovely atmosphere, great food and delicious wine.
Delicious food and impeccable vibes. I m already looking forward for my next visit back
Had the goulash and it was exceptional! Very comparable to the genuine thing in Hungary. Cute little place, nice staff, love their logo.
From its tastefull decor, delicious menu, and an inviting atmosphere, Kaiserhaus character cannot be ignored. If youre wondering whether you should visit, please let me persuade you to go. My dining experience was superb from start to finish, I had such an amazing time enjoying absolutely delicious meals, amongst the menu youll find a series of elevated European comfort food classics like the schnitzel plate or sandwich that will set the bar for all other schnitzels in your life, Latkas & gravlax were a friends favorite at the table, while the Hungarian goulash and beet salad were talked about even after they were enjoyed, my personal favourite seared duck breast over creamy mash potatoes or the mouthwatering shredded duck over Belgian waffles inspire me to return. Kaiserhaus Offers a great selection of wines to pair with meals & deserts like an unforgettable apple strudel with cream that will change your life at least for an evening leaving you wanting to return for another visit.
Fantastic! First time for the brunch but it wont be our last. Duck confit and blueberry waffles, out of this world. Service was excellent and very friendly and welcoming. Youve got to eat here!
Food was delicious and service was excellent on the super cute patio!
v aesthetic
Cutest place ever! Good food! Good drinks! Pet friendly patio
Really good German bistro for beer and schnitzel but today for brunch had Duck confit and waffles!
This place is a gem. Don t miss out on this restaurant, they have amazing drinks and delicious food plus the warmest service and perfect chef. Will definitely come back.
Surprising and stunning. Very good food and a beautiful decor. The owner must absolutely love their restaurant and it shows. 6 stars!
Best burger I have ever had and the mushroom goat cheese sandwich was awesome... The apple strudel is to die for.. great staff friendly and attentive.. patio has a european feel to it... definately a must..
What a great ambience and eclectic menu great music great location and superb food
Beautiful decor and delicious food. Highly recommend this little gem.
Great food, great service, great ambiance, all a a reasonable price.
Wonderful venue, incredible service, with unique and delicious food. If you want a bit of European flavour this place is hard to beat.
Minutes away from Niagara falls, this lovely and cozy restaurant, has a fantastic view of the Marina. Jackie our server was fantastic, she prepares the best cocktails!! We enjoyed their fresh and tasty Haus Salad (order it with crumbled blue cheese!) followed by a couple of amazing, perfectly breaded flavourful Schnitzels. But, the king of the night was their home made apple Strudel. We would drive back from Toronto, just to eat here again!
great place, delicious cuisine, cozy and fancy design, highly recommended!
What an absolutely delightful place! Food and drink were delicious (Cabbage and Spaetzl soup, Flammkuchen flatbread) . The decor is stunning, literally could be a page put of Architectural Digest. Music was perfect, service was excellent and location was great for relaxing and people watching. Great afternoon spent! Will definitely be going back often.
Love this little gem!! Food is amazing! Cute little outdoor patio and inside is just lovely. Best schnitzel ever!!
Amazing restaurant. Gorgeous decor and atmosphere. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Boasting delicious food, tasty cocktails and a curated local wine, beer and cider list Vegetarian options: Eggplant schnitzel is incredible. Salads are really delicious as well
Great spot in Port. The plate price is above average but its well warranted; the food is some of the best Ive had in the region, and the decor and ambiance are top notch. Unfortunately during our time there the dining room was swarming with flies, constantly landing on us and our food - if not for this the venue would get 5 stars.
Great quantity/quality with superb flavor
This is a wonderful restaurant with great ambience and delicious food on the menu. Set in idyllic Port Dalhousie, this restaurant offers a wide variety of choices for any dietary need. The portions are just right and the staff are very polite and ensure that you have a great experience. The Sacher Torte is a must try.
Fantastic food, wonderful atmosphere and super friendly staff. The portions were huge and delicious- I especially loved the house salad!! I want the recipe for their salad dressing. Everything they make is made fresh. Thanks for a wonderful experience :)
Enjoyed our time there. Prices were alittle high but the goods was pretty good. They have more unique things that you wouldnt find at a standard Canadian dining restaurant but nothing too crazy. Good for a lunch date! Parking: You will have to pay for parking and its a bit confusing right now there.
cute little restaurant with a great atmosphere and great food.
Had a great time at KaiserHaus. The food and ambience were stellar. What made the experience even better was Jackie who guided us through the menu and provided an overall enjoyable dining experience. We will be back.
KaiserHauss is a gorgeous little place with a great view and amazing staff and service. The food is also amazing
This place is amazing! The schnitzel sandwich is delicious and our waitress was so nice. I also got the apple strudel to go and really enjoyed it. Overall a great experience that I d recommend to anyone in the area!
The schnitzel is great, but the spätzle is absolutely awful. The Jager sauce was good, but a very small portion for the price. Service is always good though, which helps.
Delicious European food A hidden gem in St Catherine s, great food in an unpretentious atmosphere. Large portions and reasonable prices. We took Jackie s recommendations for food and local wineries to visit and she did not disappoint! Hopefully we will make it back again one day
On a Thursday night, the service was very slow. From the time we sat down at our table till the food was served took one hour. There was no table bread to nibble on during the wait, by the time the food arrived at our table, we were quite hungry. As for the quality of the food, I was looking for a traditional schnitzel, so I was disappointed by what I got. Instead of one big piece of meat, I got one small piece and a medium piece. The meat was also quite dry. Instead of coated with flour, egg wash and bread crumbs, it was coated with a wet batter. Instead of fried in butter, it was deep fried in vegetable oil. Instead of seasoning the meat with salt and pepper before coating, some big grains of sea salt was sprinkled on the outside of the batter, making the seasoning uneven. Some bites were bland, and some bites were too salty. On the other hand, one can say the KaiserHaus schnitzel is healthier than the traditional schnitzel. The red cabbage was not rotkraut but pickled cabbage. The spaetzle was homemade, but instead of scrapping the batter on a board into boiling water to form long strand of noodles, the batter was pushed through a sift and formed tiny ball shape noodles. Instead of ordering dessert at the end of the meal, we decided we had spent enough time in the restaurant and got ice cream from the store next door instead.
Ordered a sacher tort for my birthday. Itnwas excellent. One of the best ive had in probably a decade. Probably one of the only places worth checking out in port.
First try in here after spending time at the Port Dalhousie beach. We were surprised how beautiful the interior was. Small restaurant but beautifully designed from the paintings, wallpapers, table set up and beer glasses. Love the vibe! Staff were also very accommodating considering we have stroller to dine in. Food and drinks were excellent! We had mushroom sandwich and schnitzel. We also liked Niagara wheat beer, refreshing and light drink. Highly recommend and will definitely come back!
One of the best bistros I ve been to in memory. This restaurant is run by knowledgeable and thoughtful people. The attention to detail was delightful and the food delicious. We had a little dog with us who was welcomed on the patio with a personalized dish of ice water! Cute placemats on the table and our own stylish sanitizer bottle was a nice touch. I really appreciated the non-alcoholic selections. Loved the blackcurrant soda with fresh blueberries and a lemon slice. (Next time I m told to try the peach!) We ate fish and chips and beet salad. I enjoyed the salad well enough but the fish was in a league of its own. The Apple and brussel sprout slaw was sooooo good. As was the homemade tarter sauce. The fish was extremely fresh and fresh the batter perfectly crispy and light. Instagram worthy bathroom too. Very chic! An all round wonderful business. Really made our day to stop there.
Attended an event here where they provided a charcuterie board, spritzers, dinner, wine, and dessert. I had a chicken schnitzel and it was fantastic, especially with the tasty creamy mushrooms on top. The apple strudel dessert was also delicious and massive. Id love to come back for a regular dinner service sometime.
Great little place with amazing schnitzel. Important to know! They have some craft beers on hand too.
Truly a hidden gem in St. Catharines Very welcoming and friendly staff. Ordered the local sparkling wine which was amazing. The food was 10/10 and the portion sizes were good! The aesthetics are so so beautiful- amazing wallpaper, placemats, washroom and decor! It s such a cute little spot and coming here with my family will really be memorable as we all enjoyed it! I will be sure to come back if I m ever visiting St. Catharines again! Lots of love!!!
In a field crowded with Mediterranean and Italian restaurants, it is a breath of fresh air to find something different. The menu has a German/Austrian/Alsatian bent, done in an upscale yet unpretentious way. We visited on a very busy Friday night, and the staff was gracious and efficient. All dishes were not only delicious, they had that comfort food feeling. I would be remiss if I did not mention the beer and wine lists....great choices that are not found everywhere and that paired well with the menu items.
This was our first stop on our little Niagara weekend getaway, and what a delight! It started out with our server Michelle being an absolute gem of a person. She was watering the plants with some leftover water from some guests, laughing that she didn t want to waste any when we walked up to the entrance. Michelle was honestly the star of the show, but the food was also divine. Huge portions made with so much love. The pretzel and cheese dip was some of the best I ve ever had. Fresh out of the kitchen with a perfect amount of Maldon salt. We were lucky enough to come on Friday l, AKA fish and chips day. Crispy batter, flaky fresh fish, and house made dill tartar sauce. The goulash had a generous helping of beef and was perfect for the slightly chilly day. So sad we were way too full for any dessert. They thoughtfully place some blankets on each chair on the patio in case you get a bit chilly. Also, the washroom looks like something taken out of a fairy s house. So cute! Will definitely be back.
The right place in Port Dalhousie Delightful menu
Nice atmosphere.. Tasty food. Great service
For months I found myself as a regular at a Local Mirco Brewery, when their association with Kaiserhaus ended so did my relationship with the brewery. I realized I was a bigger fan of the food than the beer. Now that Kaiserhaus has a dedicated space I was able to enjoy some lunch and alone time. This visit was long overdue because of COVID, my food experience did not change. My sandwich was fantastic and the house pilsner was very good.I look forward to returning. Thank you to all.
Very tasty Goula !!
Consistently one of the best food options in Port Dalhousie. Super cool vibe, excellent menu, friendly service and a view of the historic harbour. Highly recommended.
Incredible chicken snitzel super fresh staff. Great food nice to sit outside
Delicious Crepes
In love with this place.
Very delicious and authentic European food.
Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. Great service, nice cozy atmosphere
What an awesome experience! We sat at the bar for lunch today, the food, service and ambiance were all incredible, a must visit!
One of the best schnitzel outside of Vienna
Great choices! Delivery was great!
We ordered takeout/curbside pick up through their online website. Super easy to do. The order was brought out promptly to our car at the time we ordered it for pick up and the food was still very hot and fresh when we got home. We got the Bavarian pretzel with cheese sauce, Hungarian goulash and schnitzel sandwich. Every single meal order was absolutely amazing. Very authentic and delicious German food. I hope soon to dine in as the outside looks very nice as well. But for getting takeout it was beyond great. I highly recommend it.
Great food. Fantastic staff. Great prices. Huge portions. The Schnitzel plate was wonderful. Will definitely visit again. They offer Sunday brunch as well. Hours 1130am til 930pm.
We were well received and served. A little gem of a German restaurant. The food was superb as well as the local beer. I highly recommend it.
Excellent food will go back. Was disappointed they served potato chips with the meal please chef anything but chips, coleslaw, home fries ,red cabbage chuck the chips.
exquisite strudel and service so kind.
We hired KaiserHaus to cater our wedding and it was fantastic. Colleen and Jacob developed a menu based on their goulash and schnitzel offerings at the restaurant and it proved very popular with our guests. The goulash was richly flavoured, while the schnitzel was tender and served with spaetzle. The teams service and attention to detail was top notch and made our meal a definite highlight of the wedding reception. We cannot recommend KaiserHaus enough and look forward to enjoying many more meals at the bistro.
Awesome food. Good wine and ambience. Just adorable.
One of my favorite restaurants, the food has always been fantastic and the service is prompt, personal and professional. Tried the burger for the first time last night and its was out of this world delicious.
Great food, nice music, and excellent customer service
a beautiful and calm atmosphere, and spectacular food, nothing else to say its simply amazing!
Was really looking forward to eating here this evening, went in and gave my number around 5:30PM and was told the wait would be 45 minutes for a table, for a Saturday night that seemed not too bad! After waiting for over 2 hours without that notification text, we found somewhere else to eat. Some kind of message would have been appreciated.
. The atmosphere was really lovely - felt like we were stepping into a magazine. The food was delicious too. The schnitzel sandwich and fish and chips were cooked perfectly, and the portion meant that we have lunch today. Highly recommend this place.
Enjoyed Take Out from Kaiserhaus. Always delicious and always order their supplements strudel, its just the best !
Excellent Hungarian goulash
It says authentic European comfort food, it was a decent canadian version, but not authentic. Ill explain why. Their beer list is missing actual authentic european beers to match the food, which is important when trying to replicate a european feel in the restaurant. All of their beers are local and do not taste anything like european anything, as domestics do not carry the same weight as european beers. If you are european and looking for authenticity, you will understand what Im talking about.
We had an amazing time at Kaiser Haus. The pretzel, latkes and gravlax, and the goulash were incredible!! Oh and the burger and strudel were off the charts! Our server Jackie made our experience just perfect, and the ambience and atmosphere was perfect. We will definitely be back and tell everyone to go!!
A beautiful little gem in Port Dalhousie, very small and cozy restaurant, very friendly staff and great blend of German and eastern-European food. Everything was very tasty, but I would definitely recommend the pretzel and the Goulash.
