Nice and pleasant ambience with good food and services.

The food was absolutely terrible, bland and tasteless. There is no developed atmosphere in the restaurant and the food tastes a week old. I do not recommend. I am utterly disgusted and disappointed.

My wife and I we decided to go to the mandarin on bunting rd location in st catharines last night . We witnessed an incident that we werent impressed with the staff and especially management. We were sitting in room A at approximately 6pm and witnessed an older gentleman that was in medical distress. While sitting, this gentleman passed out and fell on the floor behind him and hit his head on the floor . Obviously his family was in panic mode and emergency personnel were contacted immediately. There were others guess in the area were assisting with this emergency talking to him and keep him calm till the emergency personnel arrive. During the entire time , we didnt see anyone from the management team assisting during this medical incident. The waiters made an attempt to move the tables out the way to keep the area clear for the emergency personnel when they arrive. It felt like it took almost 20 + minutes for paramedics to arrive. Overall we werent impressed the response from the restaurant. This experience wasnt the greatest

I have ordered from this location a few times now and have always enjoyed the food. The last 2 times however, I have ordered sweet and sour chicken balls and both times have not been sent the sweet and sour sauce. The first time I had called and they informed me I would get a credit for the next time I order however was not explained how that worked so I ordered this weekend online again and called to talk about the credit and change my order from delivery to pick-up they said that I had to call my order in to get the credit. We were told our order would be 30 - 45 minutes, but we waited over an hour for our order, while at the restaurant we heard several other people talking about their wait times as well as a few who said they received the wrong order. When we opened our order when we got it home, again we were missing the sweet and sour sauce (yes we should have checked before we left but we had waited so long already we just wanted to eat), I called and they told me I could come pick it up or get a credit again. I asked if I could have it delivered and had to wait 30 minutes to receive it, at the time everyone was done eating and chicken balls were cold. This location needs to do better at making sure everything is in the bags before they leave the kitchen.

Careful ordering on online system. It let me put the order in and charged the money to my card but never communicated the order to restaurant. After 30 min of back and forth calls and being put on hold, made order by phone. Right before it was due to arrive was called and told to pay again for large order and they will give refund. Had to chase refund down. Manager was annoyed by whole matter and unapologetic. Staff was great. I knew was a new manager early on, as last year our order was delivered over an hour early without the company there yet and manager was gracious and accomodating. This experience was the complete opposite. Not even a free pop offered for the banana show .

SAM the manager in here was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!! The Niagara falls store number was not working for me and he went out of the way to call them for me and gave them my number so they d call me back and I could book my reservation. Fantastic service, and the food oh don t get me started! BEST FREAKING BUFFET will be here again!

The St. Catharines Mandarin location is the best one out there! My 2 sisters and mom have been coming here a couples times a month for under a year now. Then entire staff at this location is so very sweet, caring, compassionate, understanding and always accommodating! Paul, the manager always finds a way to put a smile on our faces! His smile shines from far away. Thank you!

This Mandarin has had 16 health inspection infractions this year! Yikes. Smarten up Mandarin mgt. We have eaten here many many times but will wait until clear inspections. Although I have never had a bad experience eating here I still want to eat in a place that passes with better results. Mistakes can be made but the same things over and over?!

My least favourite location! For a Saturday night there was hardly any food, nothing tasted good. Definitely needs to be upgraded as far as atmosphere, service was ok!

Its a great buffet. The place is clean and the service is good. The staff are polite and helpful. Vegetarian options: They have plenty of Vegetarian options. Salad Bar and Fruit are available too. Some of their entrees are just vegetables.

Always great service from the greeters, servers and up to manager. The lady taking care of the buffet was doing a great job keeping the dishes moving. at this location. Pepper Beef is their best dish. Standard Mansarin. Docked a point as the dishes werent as clean as usual and the restaurant could use a refresh as its showing some wear and tear. I will be back again and again.

Placed an order online they charged the card, an hour and a half later I called inquiring about where my food is and was told the website is down. It obviously wasn t down if I was able to place an order, the girl was extremely rude when I called saying that they have nothing to do with it at all because it s a franchise, it s not their problem. Well, the website worked plenty fine to take my order and take my money and I understand that it will be refunded, but that is not the point, they should be able to handle that in a better manner. That s unexcepatble and if it s a franchise I will be reaching out to their corporate offices

The prices have shot up the food quality is exceptionally bad. There were many dirty plates at the main buffet stacks. Total yuck. The staff were still friendly but clearly the kitchen has gone down hill fast. The decor and just about everything else has become extremely rundown and dirty.

We got there at 7:45pm and closing at 9 so we got the dry left overs. Ive been to others before and food was good for a buffet but this time was just ordinary. Lemon chicken and roast were best part of the buffet.

I had not been to the Mandarin since I graduated the 8th grade but when I went with my family tonight it was wonderful, the food was good and the servers Helen and Alice were very attentive making sure not only we were taken care of but everybody else as well I noticed.

I ordered a combo for one delivery. It arrived at my house without the beverage. I called The Mandarin and they said it was their mistake and that I could drive there and get the pop. I am not driving across town and back for a pop, I dont want to drive - this is why I got delivery. So now I am sitting here eating my meal with a glass of tap water - gross!

Food was decent, and most staff were nice. We were sat next to 2 large party tables, which had a dozen children who excessively ran around and bothered us and other tables. They even almost hit me with their sweater while they were swinging it like if there were no other guests around, and treated it like their personal jungle gym. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, the manager talked to the kids yet they did not stop, infact they got worse. I know they cannot control their guest but they didnt even think to talk to them until someone complained. Whats the point of spending over 100 dollars at a casual nice restaurant to just hear yelling and chaos? Party tables should have their own section. It ruined our whole experience.

It was exceptionally busy today. Our waitresses provided excellent service in spite of the challenges. Jil and Sirviaka were very quick to refill our water glasses and clear plates, always with a smile. Thanks ladies.

It s too bad. Our family used to frequent mandarin St. Catharines and Burlington for decades. We stopped buffet since crab legs were dropped but occasionally ordered takeout. During the pandemic especially, Mandarin was my it go-to. Today I decided to order mandarin instead of other local mainstays (Nanking, Maa) and I was sadly disappointed. We ordered dinner for 2 and added lemon chicken and sweet and sour pork. The lemon chicken had almost no sauce and was dry. Pork was very tough. Our chicken balls were dry and very doughy (not golden crispy, but porous and similar to grocery store frozen that you d bake in the oven). Rice and chop suey was just okay. It s too bad. 80 bucks for very mediocre fare. I ll go back to Nanking and Maa from now on.

The food is always fresh, and hot. It is so flavourful, and well prepared. The prices, are very reasonable. They are never late, for a delivery. Which is great, when you have a hungry crowd to feed. Their menu is amazing, so much selection. The portions, are very generous! We always have left overs, for lunch the next day! Thank you, for such great food & service. Your customers, for 7 years.

Despite the ever increasing prices at Mandarin putting pressure on seniors budgets we still enjoy coming here though on a less and less frequent basis...special occasions only.

My waitress jill and her partner daisy were so amazing. Jill is very friendly and she kept up with our table the whole time. drinks were always full and plates were always cleared! amazing service, i highly recommend

The desert is good and the waitress is great. However, I can t believe they don t serve sashimi in the dinner. Until I ask, nobody takes care of whether there is any sashimi for customers for an hour. No supervision from the manager. And the washroom is not clean, actually disgusting. You should regularly check and clean the washroom.

Some of the food tasted reheated, the sliders were just horrible tasting. We went as soon as they opened, honestly from the first time I went to now the overall quality of food has gotten significantly worse. The staff were amazing, the atmosphere was great but all else lack luster

Cheap Chinese food from 80s, we were so surprised of the low level of food and infrastructure. Quality Chinese food is not there. Better to wait and go time to time to Dragon Legend in Markham!!! By the way thats why we dont see many Asian people there !

They ve raised their prices again and literally give you 2 packets of sauce for an $80 meal and if you ask for extra sauce, they ll give you just 1 more, for an $80 meal! They re so greedy and cheap, I d never eat from there again, definitely not worth it anymore.

It s a Chinese-Canadian buffet. What more can I say?

Niagara Falls is a a better option. We frequent both locations, from weekdays and weekends and it remains the same. The food seems to sit for a while, causing dryness in the dishes, especially the rice dishes. They do fill the trays when they get bone dry but you often wait. The atmosphere is exactly the same at both location but Niagara Falls is larger and cleaner. Vegetarian options: Many. Parking: Many spots.

We are originally from the US, & this was the first place we had ultimately ended up trying in Canada! The food was great here, the place was very clean, and our servers were incredibly kind and thoughtful!

Food is terrible if not inedible. Im baffled that this place has good reviews. And they jacked the price up for the holiday weekend and put out the bare minimum of some of worst food Ive ever had. Service was fine/good but even for a buffet this was not worth $5 let alone $39.99 a person.

My husband and I are visiting lovely St Catherines from the States. Mandarin St Catherine s is one of the very best experiences that we ve had. From the moment that we walked in the door, the service was friendly and efficient. Our water glasses were always full and the food was very good! The dessert selection was crazy good! I decided to do takeout from the Mandarin in St Catharines. I always love to visit this location but unfortunately this time, the food was cold and not up to their regular standards. I found the food was not cooked very well and seemed like warmed up and not cooked from fresh. I did pick up my order just around dinner time, so Im not sure if it was rushed, it was not what I usually get. With pricing on food always going up, I paid quite a bit for 4 dishes and the food was not prepared properly

I recently dined at mandarin and had an outstanding experience. The ambiance was delightful, and the food was exceptional. I want to particularly commend our waiters, Jill and Silvy. Their attentiveness, warm demeanor, and professional service truly enhanced our dining experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu, provided excellent recommendations, and ensured that our needs were met promptly and with a smile. Jill and Silvy are a credit to your team, and I look forward to returning for another memorable meal.

The food was terrible what there was of it. The trays were empty on a regular and took forever to be refilled. The floor of the dining room was a pig pen and not enough staff to keep on it. We haf two servers and the second one as nice enough to dump water on my kids plate and all over the table and just walked away. Call me what you want but i enjoy the crembrulet and the tray was empty for our entire visit. My son said the ice-cream tasted like it had sand in it and most of them were halfway melted the cheese cake tasted like rubber. We used to see a lady around the warmers on a constant but nit tonight. $163 for 1 adult and a 13 year birthday boy and a 15 year old what a joke. $163 for terrible food lousy service and as we were leaving do you think we could find a manager nope. Not a person to be found at the front of the house. I remember when managers were constantly making rounds. The place was good at one point but now dont waste your money.

Always love Mandarin! My only complaint is that lately the quality of the wonton soup has diminished. The last couple times Ive had it the broth had been very thin and watery, and the wontons have been doughy. Other than that, is always great!
