I got food poisoning from the food

Overpriced and very limited choice on the menu please keep in mind it is an all you can eat establishment but we found on the BBQ side it was very fussy and frankly not worth the effort. Hard ceramic floors throughout the restaurant so everything was echoing and very hard to hear.

Great place wish there was more seafood option but great experience

Went here in October for my birthday, first time. It was amazing!! Highly recommend.

Pretty cool location when you walk in and see the bamboo dividers. one side is hot pot and the other side is bbq. It was our first time here, we didn t get an introduction on how it works, we did have to ask if this is part of the bbq.. you order some items in the paper, send it out and a robot will come with the food, you ll have to grill it yourself and enjoy. It s all part of the experience which was fun. In the back of the room, they have these fridges and hot plates that has some appetizers, vegetables and fruits with some dessert which was pretty cool. I saw they had the same for the hotpot section as well. And they had a sauce station which I loved. It s a make your own sauce for yourself to dip with your selections of meats. Not bad for saint Catharine s. It was definitely worth it if you re in the area and not far

Been coming here since day 1 of opening. Very hard to find a restaurant like this in the region. Staff are amazing ! Food is amazing ! I really dont have more to say, you just have to come in and experience it yourself! Definitely no regrets here

Very good ! Glad we checked this place out . Had the hot pot for 2 and it was more than enough food . The broth got more and more flavorful as the time went by, had to take the spice sack out after 30 mins as it was getting too Herby . Lots of self serve options such as veggies, noodles, taro root, and lots more . Theres also some hot options buffer style such as chow mein, fried rice, spring rolls , ribs and some fruit . It was a great experience, food was yummy and it was nice to sit there and have it cook, allowing for a longer meal . Will definitely be back for hot pot and to try the grill as well .

My first time here and I cant wait to go back. The seasoning on the food was amazing! Our server was awesome and they all greeted us with a smile even when my 7 month old started making her screaming noises. (Thankfully we were the only ones there haha)

Went for my birthday with the intent to have Hot Pot never had it before. Sat down with my family, the menus were very confusing. So we decided to do BBQ instead. Food was ok not very flavourful won t be going again. Staff were .

I wonder whats confusing about all you can eat?, we found this place by chance after a tiring day and were greeted with an extremely warm welcome, all open questions were readily answered. The food leaves nothing to be desired in terms of selection, quality, freshness and taste. And a special shout out to the young lady who served us - Thank you LAM!

Nothings special about this place. Visited on Friday night, it was not busy at all. The food was not fresh, flavour was mediocre. Some of the sauce/ dishes were empty and no one filled them up. Ice cream s texture is weird. Not worth the money.

I am not sure if the food were having bacterias that I went to the bathroom multiple times after the meal. The grapes were rotten and the meat rolls were rough, off flavoured, seems like not that fresh. I dined in yesterday noon alone, wondering if I can be reimbursed for my terrible experiences. I only ate in this restaurant yesterday and ate nothing afterwards, so clearly my diarrhea was related to the food I ate here. Would contact the manager if my syemtoms continue tomorrow.

Tried their hot pot and I have to say that their hot pot is one of the best i have tried. Their broth was very tasty.I love their fresh veggies and hot buffet that is included. Truly bang for your buck!

It was a little expensive for a DIY Dinner. But it was overall a good experience. And the prepared foods on the buffet were good. It was fun for a novel experience, made better by the people I was there with. I found the staff to be... Well, lets not gild the lily here... Theyre not super friendly or outgoing. Were I an owner, or manager, Id probably be a little peeved. Some of the minor issues I had with the staff. I had to ask staff for water a few times, which is a rarity for me anywhere else. In most places, once your drink is empty, someone will usually come ask if you want a refill, this did not happen, and it was not busy the night we were there, there was only one other active table on the hibachi side. No one on the staff explained how it worked, or gave us any inkling about where to start, we had a paper with a list of meats shoved in front of us, with a pencil, and kinda had to figure it out ourselves. To the point I was unsure if any of the staff even HAD vocal cords. No explanation of the sauce selections, veggie selections, or even the prepared food buffet. I had to rely on the other diners at our table who had actually been there before. Staff, sullenly congregated at the bar in a clump of 3 or 4, and stared at the 2 active tables. It was kinda creepy. There was much murmuring among them, but no one seemed to outwardly be discussing the customers, but... Bad optics. Again, as someone who has worked in food service, Id be pissed as an owner or manager. The 15% tip was included in the final bill. Which probably cost the staff about 5-10% MORE, because I was NOT happy that they already decided I was giving 15%. Usually I start my tip amount at 25%, and reduce the amount for things that are absolutely under the control of the workers. And, to be honest, I probably wouldnt have penalized them at all as it was my first time in, and I didnt know if this was normal for the staff of this restaurant. All in all... It was a good dinner. Love the atmosphere, and wasnt even unhappy with the service, just taken aback how hands off the staff were. 100% WOULD recommend. Just dont expect high end customer service.

Decided to eat here as Ive wanted to for years. We went close to closing and well not sure if it would have made a difference. The meat was rough. We did the BBQ and lets just say the fish did not taste well mixed with the meat. Dishes sat at the edges the entire time we were eating and waiting until we got more food. We were continually asked if we wanted anything before closing but kept saying no. No music. Very dull boring place with by par food.

Amazing value, fresh food waitress. Waiters are nice. Lots to choose from you should go dont miss out! Please go on our way back from Niagara Falls. Its about 15 minutes from the Falls.

We found ourselves in St Catherines on a frigid Sunday night and were looking for Vietnamese food. Came across this place after a google search. Really enjoyed it. Nice prompt service, tasty meats that we cooked on the grill and all the sides we could want. I would go back.

Poor service, dirty chair with oil on it, makes my pant nasty and hard to clean, waitress works here are indifference, always a cold face to us, dont even mention the price here has already increased to $40/each, their service and food quality doesnt deserve this price

We love Lang s and come quite often. Tonight we went and it was one of our worst experiences yet. They ran out of food at the buffet bar constantly, we barely had someone coming to our table to clear dishes or ask for drinks. We were definitely disappointed tonight because it is one of our favourite places to eat. Maybe it was just an off night. The food is fantastic though!

Some of my group of seven had been here before for dinner. One of them was Asian and would have given it 5 stars. Parking was plentiful. I came in hungry and soon found that this was like a fondue. You get a little bit of food, cook it for a long time, then get a few nibbles. So, off to a bad start. I am not Asian so I thought I would play it safe and order chicken. The stringy things in the dish were unrecognizable to me but were actually a very small amount of chicken. I tried salmon next. Much better but took a long time to cook. The BBQ did not seem to be very hot. I was very hungry by then so went to the back and loaded up on fried rice and spring rolls. I later had more salmon and some mushrooms. It was an entirely unsatisfying and unenjoyable experience for me. Others in my group had a better experience. The $312 bill (no alcohol) for four adults, two teen girls, and one nine year old shocked me. Service was slow. The servers didnt seem very interested in us. I felt cheated and would not return. If you know you like Vietnamese food , your experience will probably be better than mine.

Some of these reviews are crazy to me because why go to a resturant outside of your culture then complain because youre picky and unwilling to try new things? Anyways This place is great. We went about two times now, both during lunch and the service was great, our waitress was very kind and the food was DELICIOUS. The beef base sweet and sour broth is so good you have to try it. And their sauce bar is well stocked; so many flavour combos to try. Definitely check this place out

Fruit and Vegetables are good, seafood is fine. Meats tastes soso and apparently not fresh, feeling stomachache after eat.

Me and my group of friends tried the BBQ side and we were extremely satisfied with the whole outing. It was our first time all trying this type of restaurant and we had a blast! Between the food being super tasty, the nice atmosphere and the great/timely service. It made out first experience exceptional. We will all be returning very soon to try the hotpot side and if the meat is the same I have a good feeling it will be just as good.

Im a little late for this review but am still giving it! Amazing food and wait staff, all friendly and willing to answer any questions. I ended up forgetting my wallet there after leaving. I called and they had picked up and put it somewhere safe until I returned. Not from around here but when I come back Im definitely going again! Thank you for the wonderful food and atmosphere.

Very delicious bbq

Amazing experience. Tried the BBQ for the first time. Because of the snow storm, we were the only people in the restaurant, so service was quick and fast. Food was delicious.

My all-time fav place to eat, been going there for over a year and Im.suoer picky with my food. So the fact you make the meat yourself is top. There is also hot pot(noodles n soup) however I havnt tried that yet I just love bbq . However survers are very friendly managers super helpful when anything is needed. Great place to bring the family or group of friends. Vegetarian options: Veggies and more. Parking: Not hard to find just a bit small if you go on a usy day. Kid-friendliness: Families are always there with babies and all their friends.

This was the first time I tried Korean BBQ. In this restaurant, you choose which side of the room you want as it is divided between whether you want Korean BBQ or Hot Pot (I still dont know what Hot Pot is, maybe Ill try it next time). At the table, you fill out a form for your meat (chicken, beef, pork, shirmp) choices and rice/noodles and soup. Its all-you-can-eat so choose as much as you want, but remember there is a surcharge if you dont eat what you order. And you can order as many times as you need. Either the waitress or the cool robot brings you all you picked. Then you head over to the refrigerator units and tiny buffet tables and choose your hot side dishes, vegetables, sauces, etc. You cook the meat/vegetables on the BBQ at your table and add your sauces and noodles or make your rice paper rolls and enjoy. Basically, youre the chef and they provide the ingredients and means to make your dish your way.

I love this place, my husband and I have been coming here for years. I have never been disappointed. Keep in mind, this place is a self serve self cooking place. They give you raw meals & you cook them yourself. All the staff are fantastic and I would recommend this place for a small party. You re able to be in the moment and enjoy your company while eating delicious food!

Been coming here for years! Tonight somehow quality got even better and tastier! We had a server who although new, he was super helpful and made sure we had a great time! The green tea ice cream is superb as well!!

Food was really good, but this being my first time hot pot experience, the servers werent super informative on what we needed to do and what was available to us. Bit of a rocky start, but ended well.

Nice place for a BBQ grill. Will go back to try the hotpot next time were in the area. Food options were good. No tofu option for the BBQ grill side although I saw some on the hotpot side, maybe they would let you bring it over for bbqing? I never asked as I was happy with cooking up the salmon, veggies, noodles, and pickled stuff. Would like to see the pickled/fermented tofu that Ive had at other BBQs. Servers were pretty friendly although it was a bit slow getting waters or the bill. I ended up walking over to the bar area and asking for some/glasses. Parking lot was full, we had to park in the side/back lot which I wasnt sure was even for the restaurant. Would recommend the salmon, shrimp, corn, veggies, yellow noodles, rice wraps, grill some pineapple too yum. Also the red bean and or green tea ice cream. The honeycomb cake was a thick chewy glutinous cake, was good with the ice cream. Another light cake option would be nice. Vegetarian options: Pescatarian on BBQ side(salmon, fish, shrimp), no vegan options although they might let you grill up the tofu from the hotpot side if you asked? Kid-friendliness: Server was nice to the kids and wasnt too fancy in there where we felt out of place bringing the kids.

We went back recently for a birthday treat for me. Well it hasnt changed much since our last visit. The price is still atrocious. The service, however is much worse. We never got a mid-meal visit from any server to see if we wanted anything else, no do you need more water for your tea, no checking to see if I wanted more protein, no can I get you more broth, not even a visit to see if we are ready to pay our bill. We had to chase down a server to square up our account. I used to come here once a month. As prices increased my visits subsided. I was down to about every 3 or 4 months. Well, after that last visit, Im good for a year or two now. __________________________________________ Weve been here many times. Prices keep going up and up. Yesterday they charged us $31.99 each for a seniors lunch hotpot. I dont know if this is correct because their prices arent published anywhere, not even in the restaurant. In any case, thats not going to be a price Im willing to pay very often. I can get a Mandarin lunch buffet for a senior for $10 less. Service wasnt very good either. The food is the only saving grace but it wasnt THAT good. Its lost a star or two for me.

If you go on a weekend, the menu has more items and is also a little bit more expensive. In the most recent visit, the servers ignored our plates which were piling up even though they crossed our tables several times. But most of the other times, my servers were super nice and friendly. One time they asked if I want to have the shrimp paste that goes extremely well with the meats

Good experience food was great.... everything you want. Seafood and meat lover. All you can eat but make sure you finished what you ordered otherwise you will have to pay for it. Parking: Parking is free but limited. Street parking is allowed and there is also paid parking... this is downtown St. Catharines parking is hard.

If you have never tried hot pot you don t know what you are missing. Not only is the food absolutely delicious at Lang but the restaurant has great decor and they have a robot! That s right, a robot will bring items you ordered over to your table. How fun is that!?! The great thing about hot pot is you get to eat only what you want and cook it exactly the way you want. It s such a great way to share a meal with friends and family.

Just went again on 08-18 2023 and I can confirm its just as good if not better. We always get the chicken broth hot pot with the mild tom yum spice. Its still got good kick to it though. They also now have a robot to pick up and drop off plates and its awesome. If you havent already done so, please eat here.

Vietnamese Hot Pot. You pick your broths first, then a selection of meats on a card, you self serve your vegetables and cold items and have a lovely meal. Would recommend 9/10

Stumbled upon this place, very nice hot pot. Besides all you can eat protein, the choice of mushrooms and noodles was very nice.

Our 2nd time visiting here but first for the BBQ. We were immediately treated by two employees. One sat us at the table while the other took our orders. This was essentially the last time we spoke to anyone. The service was very lacking. Empty plates were staking up at all the tables. Getting anyone to refill a drink was impossible.

Date night dinner Nov 11/23. Service was terrible, impossible to get a drink refill. A large amount of items were not filled at the food area. Vegetables were dried out. *tables were stacked with empty meat trays, some customers were stacking dirty dishes on empty chairs. Selection of food was very disappointing. $100 dinner was not worth the money. Vegetarian options, disappointing.

went here with my dad on a saturday night because the other korean bbq was too busy and was rather disappointed. the service was almost nonexistent, trays pilling up, out of water for the entire time until when the bill was asked for. the self serve food area was horribly understocked, empty, and the veggies that were there looked very dried and old. employees on phones when there was clearly a lot of work to be done. the only nice thing was the atmosphere and the food, but even then it wasn t excellence enough to disregard everything.

So good I went twice in one week. True story.

Ohhh man, the barbecue was good but the hit pot is where its at IMO. So tasty, so much to eat and so nice to just sit back, cook and chat with family over a meal.

Came here for the 1st time and tried the hot pot , it was realy good, we found the broth base to be to spicy for our liking , we told the waiter we were newbies and didnt know the intensity of the spicy levels and he assured us it was mild , well it was not mild atall , but it wasnt bad enough from letting us to enjoy their hot and ready sides and we tried to eat the soup with out any of the broth but unfortunately it was to spicy, we were able to cool our mouths down with a great selection of fruits, the pineapple was the way to go , so I attempted this place today again with my sister and tried the BBQ grill , it was awsome , we made our own fresh spring rolls with rice paper , wich I enjoyed, a great selection of hot foods a great selection of veggies and lettuce , we deffinatley will be back again for the hot pot again this time were leaving broth plain and making our own flavors with their big selections of sauces, this is must go to place for anyone who enjoys soups and bbqs

Good food, good service

I enjoyed the experience, as I had never been to a Vietnamese restaurant before. Food comes separately. To add them to the soup (hot pot), and thus cook them for consumption - since all meats, pastas, vegetables and salads are raw. It is the customers free choice to order side dishes and flavor options for the base soup (up to two different ones), which are replenished as you wish. The restaurant charges waste fees.

6 stars for service, especially from the big guy wearing black, impressed that when he forgot the drink order he came back with one on the house. That s old school service that has been forgotten about in this world.

Decent price. Love the all you can eat options - wish I didnt have to pick between BBQ and hot pot. The pork belly is very good for both grilling and hot pot. No complaints about any of the AYCE items! Theyll give you rice paper for wrapping if you ask. Service is awesome. Good sauce diversity. The cooked buffet options were delicious: ribs, spring rolls (with great taro and meat filling), wings. They were very fresh and the deep fried items were crispy.

Slices of food are very thin. PLEASE double check your bill because they put automatically GRATUITY on it and they pass the machine POS with the option of the TIP so, you will pay an extra $$ Tip.

Not really satisfied with this buffet and the operation. Food: the vegetables look like kept a long time and a small quality on the plate.Less choices. The onion almost run out when I came till I left and still no refilled. Not really busy. No dessert anymore. Fruit still good. Service: The girl was working hard but she serve at a big area. I had to wait for 15 minutes to catch one boy add order for me and add water. The boy has no greeting and nor saying thank you when I came in and paid for the bill. He seems not been professional trained. Ridiculously, the tips begin from 15% to 25%. Do you think your service deserves for this amount? $30.99 per adult for smaller food menu. The price and tips are not matched with the quality and service. Won t go again, only my personal choice.

Incredible food! The whole experience is so unique. The meats are delicious. The only downfall is the noodles were never replenished while I was dining there, the teriyaki sauce was actually soya sauce, I had to ask for our drinks twice, and for an extra menu three times. Other than that, it was great.

First time ever having hot pot and I was not disappointed! Food was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing, very fast and friendly servers. Very sanitary as well. I will for sure be coming back and bringing friends 10/10 recommend eating here. (Try the vietnamese iced coffee)

This place is quite cozy. The host are helpful and friendly. The food and the sauces are delicious. The experience here added great delight to our overall trip. We will return whenever we come back to Niagara-on-the-Lake

I read some of the reviews of Lang and decided to take my wife for the all you can eat . Having travelled extensively throughout Vietnam and South East Asia for many years, we truly enjoy the flavours of the food found there. Sorry to say, but Lang Hot Pot was the worst dining experience that we have ever had. The food looked and tasted stale. The sea food and meats were rubbery and tasted suspicious. We are not picky eaters, but the food at Lang was so unappetizing that we paid our bill (close to $100 with no drinks or dessert) and left the restaurant hungry. Consumer beware!!

First time here at Lang Vietnamese Hot Pot & BBQ while in Canada. We dine in for AYCE hot pot during lunch time. We actually open the restaurant for them since we were they first customer, but soon it was crowded. Don t let the outside look fool you. The inside design, is nice, cozy, chill & very clean establishment. The staffs was friendly and the service was great. Would high recommended Lang Vietnamese Hot Pot & BBQ to anyone in St. Catherines, ON area. Plus it beat driving to Toronto and get stuck in hrs traffic.

Bad service (staff attitude)

Servers were slow, service bad, half the menu was out. Set the fire too hot, they never replaced the grill the entire time we were there and there only 3 other tables in the restaurant. Wouldnt come here ever again.

Tried the BBQ for the first time, enjoyed the variety and friendly attentive staff. Meats were well seasoned and tasty. Will be back. Returned for the second time, this time the hotpot side. Once again, a very good experience.

Amazing Great Staff

Lang is a great restaurant for both hotpot and KBBQ! Everytime we go here we have a great experience and the food is always delicious. I recommend trying the Lang sauce! The hot food buffet has a nice selection during dinner service and the hotpot selection is vast! I am giving it a four because sometimes the meat is still a bit frozen and the service is sometimes slow. Overall, they are a great place and I recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

My husband and I came here for the very first time today, since we are here on vacation and live in the state of Maine. We had the hot pot and it is was very good and our waitress was very friendly.

I called a week ago for the reservation. But they just informed me a day before of my reservation that there will be a private event, the same time of my reservation.

This place was amazing! We went for a lunch hot pot and we re amazed with the quality and how fast service was! Coolest part was the robot who delivered our food! Would have given 5 stars if the owner didn t take the tips from waitresses! That is very scummy as most are not carrying cash I m these times , so to ask for a tip on the debit machine and not tell customers it s going to the owner is awful

2* experience but Im adding 1* for my inexperience. So we got there at around 830 on a 10pm close. We were told 20min to last call, which most people would assume means alcohol. After we were seated we were told about a section at the back that had other foods (fried rice, spare ribs, veggies, etc). I went to check out some of those options and legit everything was empty except the fried rice. Once I sat down from looking at the back I was told that they were closing the kitchen and should order some food (this is when I realized last call wasnt for alcohol). The menu was quite limited (this is where I add my star because I didnt do my research), and my partner doesnt like seafood so she was left really with 2-3 things to eat. I know, as an owner, you dont want your staff to turn people away but... With food being cut off shortly and the hot plates at the back not being refilled I wouldve rather of been turned away. Especially when you take into account it cost me over 100$ for 2 people to eat + 1 glass of wine. Overall a very neat dinig style and Ill definitely be looking to try similar restaurants again, I just wont be returning here.

Food was good for AYCE. The restaurant is split into two sections - hot pot and bbq. Our experience was ok. One of the servers lost our second order and ignored us when we asked about it.

Could use some extra parking spots or more labels on the ones provided..

My wife, my daughter, whos one year old, and friend dined there today. We ate, we went to pay and were surprised that there was a charge of 8 dollars for the seat of our daughter who ate only her own food brought from home. We were completely surprised, as we were not informed before we sat down, and, at the least, not impressed with this restaurant who charges infants for seats. Big thumbs down

Okay first time trying out this hot pot place and it was such a neat experience. Ordered 2 flavours of soup, which were both delicious. And then you get to cook the meat and vegetables the way you want.. Its all you can eat and trust me, I was stuffed, but in a good way since it wasnt greasy at all. This was the perfect spot for those cold days. The atmosphere was very contemporary, everything was clean and the waiter and waitresses were so helpful in helping me understand the whole process. The whole experience was exceptional... I actually came back 2 days later.. Vegetarian options: Unlimited vegetables and tofu... I loaded up on all the variety to vegetables including enoki mushrooms, bamboo shoots, lotus stems etc.. So unique.

Came in for a lunch date with my wife. The staff were friendly and attentive. While the menu was simple and there werent too many items out on the fridge, the cuts of meat and seafood we had were flavorful, and delicious. Their cheesecake custard was amazing, and well definitely be coming back for dinner sooner than later.

Drive from Kitchener to St Catherine for dinner. Very happy how the food was very authentic, the service was fantastic. They are so good what they do will come back for dinner every time to Niagara Fall shopping and tourist. This is one of the Vietnamese restaurants in the St Catherine area. Serving the most delicious dishes that I and my family have ever enjoyed. The service of the owner and all the staff here has brought Vietnamese dishes to a new level. We respectfully invite everyone to visit the restaurant once to feel the Vietnamese flavor. (I leave and take my homeland with me).

Lovely restaurant. You can pick all-you-can-eat hotpot or bbq. I choose bbq when I went. Very unique because its vietnamese style rather than korean. The marinades were very flavourful. Great selection of sauces for dipping as well. You order meat via a paper sheet. Veggies and fruit are self-serve in the back. There are also self-serve hot table items as well (fried rice, noodles, spring rolls, etc). The server was very kind and helpful! I will definitely come back again to try the hotpot.

Excellent customer service! The server was very attentive and the service was very quick. The bbq was delicious and I reccomend the beef, shrimp and fish fillet. 10/10 will be back again when visiting Niagara

Love this place, although it has trended downwards noticeably in the last couple months. Hopefully they can right the shop soon. Solid food, solid format (love table cooking, and the viet take on it is just a little remix of what Im used to). They have never tried to cheap out on our orders or ingredients, which is a rarity at this type place in the gta. You get exactly what you asked for and quick. Again, compared to other BBQ or hot pot places weve been to, this is very rare. Restaurant is well laid out, modern and very clean (incl b/r).

This is an all-you-can-eat resto. Price is around $25 per person. There are 2 sections in this restaurant. There is a BBQ and a Hot Pot section. We ( 5 of us) went to the BBQ section. You cook your own BBQ on the built-in grill in your table. Its better you order in bunches. Say, 5 beef tray (1 small tray is like one serving for 1 person), 5 pork tray, 5 fish fillet tray, 5 chicken tray. 5 shrimp, etc. In the same section, there is a cooked food table like veggie fried rice, sauteed sprout veggie, spring roll, etc. This is included in your all you can eat bill. There is also a chiller for fresh veggies you could grill like mushrooms, corn cobs, asparagus, bell peppers, etc. There is also a fruit desert chiller beside it. Ice cream is included in the all you can eat. Drinks is extra. Service charge is charged in your bill. But food is good! Service is fast! Servers are attentive and helpful! I would definitely recommend this place when youre around St. Catharines near Niagara.

Outstanding bbq joint with a small but flavorful selection of meat and seafood items. The food was well-prepared and marinated and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any bbq and meat lovers!

Great service, friendly and attentive staff. This was my first visit and they provided a great explanation and overview of the options and how everything is set up. Delicious food and everything is hot and fresh! Will definitely be back!
