This is hands down one of the best restaurants in St. Johns, the food is always excellent and the owners are so friendly and wonderful. Im always excited to share a meal from here with the people I love.

Tried this place for the first time today and really enjoyed! We got two of the daily specials, vegetarian and non. Every bite was packed full of flavour and so delicious. The naan bread was a treat and the samosas were good as well. An added bonus was that our order wasn t ready when we came for it so the owner brought it out to our car so we wouldn t get a ticket. Will definitely be back!

I love this place... its rare I find a restaurant that I actually crave the flavors from but this place makes really tasty dishes. The vegetarian is packed with exotic spices, really deliscious and the lamb is to die for...Highly recomended Vegetarian options: fantatsic... no need for meat

In town visiting, stopped in for lunch. Food was super delicious and owners were so sweet. They offered to hold our son so we could enjoy our meal.

Safi and his family as very kind and gracious hosts. Their food is delicious, very reasonably priced, and their restaurant atmosphere makes you feel like your having a truly home cooked traditional Afghan dinner. I brought a group of 17 students and teachers here as a surprise and it was an easy win for all of us. So glad this kind of food is available in St. John s. Sick of codfish? Come to this place!

Excellent Afghan good and reasonable prices. First visit to resturant. Wasnt disappointing. Note: parking is limited in area and also food does take time to made compared to other cuisines. It may require 30 to 45 minutes after ordering for food to arrive based on item.

Its been a little while since Ive been there but this place is a hidden treasure. Incredibly friendly staff and I dont think theyve ever served a bad meal. Next time Im in St Johns it will be one of my first stops.

Great meat options and vegetarian options alike. There isnt much seating, but thats no problem, as you can easily do takeout and head to a nearby park or eat it at home. Its in a great location so if you do manage to get a table, its a great place to sit and watch the world go by! I go here every time Im in Newfoundland and Ive been doing so for years.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. The vegetarian meal is consistently delicious and the portions are generous. Its definitely one of my favourite take out place and the service has always been polite and courteous.

Simple restaurant. Nice food, I enjoyed the vegetarian plate it felt like a nice homemade meal. Wasn t crazy about the pakora, I wouldn t recommend it. Maybe the samosas are nicer. Great price for the food though. I would definitely recommend eating here.

Worst service ever received. Lentil were sour and wasted. But the owner was not polite enough and disagreed with me. He did not offer any alternative dish, his attitude was you didnt like it so dont bother to or I am not gonna serve you. This was my second visit first was okay but there will be no third for sure.

Cozy, cute, welcoming and very tasty! The lovely couple, who I believe own this place, serving me were polite and prompt. They welcomed me in and served such delicious authentic Afghan food! I absolutely love how much the way they have set this small space up! Their veggie samosas were so crisp, came with a delicious dip sauce and hit the spot! The veggie dish I ordered was packed with flavour and spices! Ive had Afghan food before but this place is legit! What a lovely tucked away gem for St. Johns! If you have never had Afghan food, make this the first place you go! Thank you for your kind hospitality and amazing food!

They only have one gluten-free option (the vegetarian), but it was good, filling, and cheap. 100% would recommend.

Delicious vegetarian meal and also meat kebab options, with traditional spices. This cozy, family-run restaurant has been around for many years and is the only Afghan restaurant in St. John s. Its modest menu is affordable, and the decor feels very authentic.

Small and quaint, but thats all this place needs. The menu is not very robust, offering a handful of options, but those few dishes are guaranteed to be rich in flavour. Delicious food and friendly service for a very fair price.

Amazing food and service

I went with my girlfriend today on valentines day eve to this restaurant. We chose this quite, cosy place, avoiding other fancy restaurants just for some privacy.We found that the afghan restaurant is not exactly a restaurant but it is a dining place and a very good one indeed, probably the best in the city for some good food. We ordered the non-veg meal which was more like a indian platter with lentils, mild curry, vegetables and basmati rice and the assorted kebab platter. The food had very large portions and its already 3 hrs that I had the food and im still burping..!! :-). This place is like a secret place which is the best kept secret in the dining scenario of St. Johns. A very small family owned place, with 12 chairs and 6 tables, it is a place where you come to satisfy your tummy with some mouth watering home cooked food which reminded me of my mothers cooking. Even the mango icecream we had as dessert was home made and was delicious. I can hardly say anything bad about the place, its a secret place and like all secret places......wonderful..!! PS. My girlfriend who never had similar kind of food, loved it too

Great place, even if you dislike Asian food you should enjoy it, good staff and a calm friendly environment which seems to be slowly disappearing from Newfoundland these days.

The apps and specials are the best. Really flavourful food. Highly recommend.
