We were in there for lunch and felt rushed to get out. Our server did not provide great service. There was no napkins or cutlery on the table I had to wait half way through my meal to receive that. Water was not filled once they saw my glass empty. Just all around bad service. Wont be going back!

The manager on duty, Fahham, went above and beyond to ensure that our severe tree nut and gluten allergies were handled with the utmost care. The attention to detail and the care taken to ensure our safety allowed us to enjoy our meal worry-free. Everything went smoothly, making it an incredibly positive and memorable dining experience.

I recently had a frustrating experience with Moxies that left me quite disappointed. When I called to place an order, I mentioned I was having trouble with their online system. The person I spoke with assured me it was no problem and that they could handle the delivery directly. I placed an order for about five items and was told it would be ready shortly. Fifteen minutes later, I received a call stating my order was ready for pickup. I clarified that I wanted it delivered, only to be informed that delivery was not available through the restaurant itself. The manager then suggested they could issue a gift card for the inconvenience. This wasnt what I wanted I just wanted my food! I was directed to use third-party services like Skip, DoorDash, or Uber Eats, which felt frustrating since I specifically called the restaurant for assistance. The initial assurance I received turned out to be misleading, and I was left feeling like I was being blamed for a misunderstanding that was not my fault. Overall, this experience was disappointing, and it seems there needs to be better communication regarding their delivery options. I expected a straightforward process when ordering directly, but instead, I ended up confused and hungry.

I recently went for supper and our server Kody went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible! The food was amazing, and the service was even better.

I went for supper on Saturday, had nachos and churro ice cream and our server Kody made sure everything was perfect! He surpassed our expectations and was very friendly!

When I arrived the restaurant was almost empty and the servers were chatting in the corner. After waiting a couple of minutes, I had to ask if I can be seated. I ordered the blackened chicken burger and it was very bland. A Wendy s chicken burger is so Much better. Very disappointing.

I recently dined at Moxies, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. While the service was just okay, the real issue came from the shrimp tacos I ordered. Within a few hours of eating, I began experiencing extreme nausea, violent vomiting, and explosive, very smelly diarrhea. It was clear that the seafood had been mishandled, leading to a severe case of food poisoning. My symptoms were so bad that I almost had to get my stomach pumped, and I ended up missing nearly a whole week of work. This experience was incredibly distressing, and I would caution others to think twice before ordering seafood from Moxies.

Food was great for lunch, had the blackened chicken burger. Hot and fresh. Tomato and lettuce were crispy! Service was a bit slow-- they seemed a little short staffed. I had to go up to the bar to get water refills and the poor you g fella apologized, he was clearly run off his feet. A bit pricey since its a hotel restaurant but worth it in my opinion. Parking: Lots of parking, its a hotel.

My stake was cooked way too much you can taste the burnt on it when I sent it back the second stake was cooked way too much again I ordered a medium just cooked just a little more than pink in the middle, I brought my stay home and end up throwing it out. We arrived and were pleasantly greated. We need seats that accomodated a Disability. The server was fantastic. We order 3 different meals, 2 with modifications due to allergies, they were all perfect, hot and delicious. Will absolutely come back next time we are in St. Johns. Only negative was the music was a bit loud to carry on a conversation with the server. Server offered great recommendations for our visit, was friendly and very approachable. We have nothing bad to say and cant wait to come back.

An excellent place for either causal or fine dining. I always seem to go on certain occasions but the food has always been phenomenal. The avocado dip, streaks, sweet potato fries, and Mahi Mahi are all options that wont disappoint. The staff are super friendly and naturals. Wait times can be a bit long but given how busy they are, its understandable!

We had heard that the fish & chips was really good, we went there 4 days in a row to try the fish & chips. In the same week From Monday to Thursday always the same response, they did not receive fresh cod therefore no fish & chips. But all the other dishes really very good.

Moxies is a great restaurant for a fancy dinner with coworkers or a fun celebration with friends. The atmosphere and layout is top notch. The staff are helpful and friendly, and more importantly the food was delicious. Moxies also went out of their way to provide a meal prepared to avoid gluten and gave options to avoid cross contamination.

Had an amazing evening at the restaurant, some issues occurred with our order but the manager on duty fahaam went above and beyond to address our needs and made sure everything was resolved. The server was super friendly and had great attention to detail. Highly recommend the white chocolate brownie, it was delicious.

Went together with a party of about 20 people. They told us 18% gratuity was automatically on the bill. We came in, they repeated it. OK so forced 18% tip. I didnt mind until the service didnt deserve 18%. Once we got the food, we didnt even see the waiter. Wednesday lunchtime, wasnt busy at all. He disappeared knowing he got his 18% no matter what. The food was good, best fish n chips Ive had. We wanted drinks, no waiter to be found. One of the people mentioned the milk was gone bad in her coffee and he didnt come back to even replace it like he said he would. This is NOT acceptable. If you are going to FORCE a tip, at least teach your employees the meaning of service. I will NEVER recommend and will tell everyone I know about this experience of FORCING A TIP.

I do not recommend the chicken tenders. They were way over cooked and the batter was very hard and crunchy. I had to pick off the hard batter to be able to eat it. Was very disappointed in this meal and did not enjoy it at all.

Service very slow ...was told short staff . Was very annoyed by watching a staff cleaning the benches and chairs and then cleaned 5 tables after with the same cloth .. then actually went to a customers table with same cloth and wiped it off....no rinsing cloth at all ...it is very unsanitary no different than wiping your floor and then your table so discussing. We didnt feel like eating our own supper after we saw that....But we did and it was very tasty. We often wonder where all the germs come from.....see what we saw tonight ask no more...

The sun room had some ceiling heaters which werent working, so it was pretty cold where we ate. Prices were lofty and restrictive in my opinion, with appetizers being just as, if not more expensive than the mains. The food was good and tasty, but the price was definitely not very palatable. The automatic 18% tip is a bit of an overreach as well. For my chicken burger meal and a couple beer, it was about $60. Could have had chicken and ribs at Swiss Chalet for that. If money is no object to you, then youll likely find something here that youll enjoy.

Review updates This used to be my favourite spot in St.John s. It is sad to see them fail like this. 1. Huge drop in the food quality. Totally dog food. 2. Missing management. I do not think anyone is managing this restaurant. 3. No customer service. The food was garbage, and I told them I was okay to pay for the food. The waiter insisted on giving me discounts. Ultimately, he gives me $7 off on that $20+ dish from the $130 bill. I don t know what he is thinking about. But I take it as an insult. Customers need your attitude rather than a $7 discount. Some suggestions from a previous regular customer 1. Check your chicken wings exp date. 2. You should never serve rotten vegetables to customers 3. You should not use the microwave to heat soup. If you still want to do it, please ensure the soup is warm. Bye-bye, Moxie.

We had dinner in St. Johns last night for my husbands 65th birthday,we had a great time. Our server Zoe was amazing, very authentic and friendly. The food was a bit slow coming but that wasnt Zoes fault. The food was great, your menu could use a couple of more items that are not spicy though.

A Disappointing First Visit to Moxies Last night, my husband and I, accompanied by another couple, decided to try out Moxies for the first time. Unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired. Upon ordering an appetizer to share, we were surprised to find that plates and cutlery were not provided until a few minutes after the dish was delivered. This initial hiccup set the tone for the evening. While my husband and I enjoyed our meals, the other couple ordered steaks. The medium steak arrived well-done, and we were informed by the food runner that there had been an incident in the kitchen, resulting in the need for a remake. Unfortunately, this meant that three of us had nearly finished our meals by the time the last one was delivered. Throughout the dining experience, our waitress failed to inquire about the quality of our food after the appetizer, and she neglected to ask if we wanted refills. While she did take the initiative to discount the affected meal and remove a glass of wine from the bill, the overall service did not meet our expectations. Given the premium prices at Moxies, we anticipated a higher standard of service. In the event of a mistake like the one with the steak, we would have expected a manager to visit our table and offer a sincere apology. Unfortunately, this level of customer service was lacking. While the food quality for two of us was satisfactory, the overall experience was marred by service shortcomings. We hope that Moxies takes steps to improve their customer service to match the premium dining experience they aim to provide. Needless to say we wont be back, first impressions are so important and ours was so disappointing.

Nothing bad to say here! Our server was super friendly and attentive to our needs and offered great suggestions. The food was served in a very timely manner and was hot and tasty! The steak was done perfectly as requested and the brussel sprouts with pork belly were absolutely delicious! Also, you have to try the blackened shrimp tacos; the taste was rich and spicy.....not for everyone spicy......but perfect if you like the heat! The atmosphere was very relaxing and the music / noise wasnt overpowering. The price was reasonable for the food and service. Definitely worth a visit!

Had a great time! Love the variety of vegetarian dishes. Our server dana was great - very friendly and recommended delicious drink options. Great location for after work plans!

Great spot to catch up with a friend. Our server Dana found out we were celebrating and gave us complimentary bubbly. Really nice touch we did not expect that, and so appreciated it!

We had a private room booked for a group of people never got it.they said it was over booked.the food was Luke warm.the atmosphere was more exciting then a fly flying around.im a retired chef.we will never go ther3 again.

The food could have been much better compared to the price.
