Hey - we're Jack Astor's. Our mission? Great people helping other great people totally have a blast while enjoying amazing food. We specialize in delicious food and drink and are a lot like a reverse mullet- we're a party in the front and all business in the back. In all seriousness though, we take real pride in our food and make over 200 recipes in house - Every. Single. Day. Mic drop. Try our fresh guacamole, centre cut aged Canadian AAA striploins or our famous Jack's Chicken Fingers, made with fresh never frozen seasoned chicken tenders, hand breaded to order. We also sling an impressive selection of craft brews and cocktails. So let your hair down, loosen your belt and come hangout!

My family and I recently went here to celebrate a birthday. It was my first time here in a few years, and I will be making a trip back very soon! The food was really good all around, everyone enjoyed their meals. However the service was beyond exceptional, our server Skye went above and beyond the entire night to make our experience unique and special. She was quick to explain menu options, and even got the staff to sing a version of happy birthday that included an inside joke for our family. This was unprompted as it was only mentioned through friendly conversation with Skye. She was a real joy and her friendly personality was exceptional, she even made it a point to know our first names as she served us and checked in throughout the meal.
Dio was fantastic! Super friendly! We had a great time and he made it even better. Great food and awesome service!
The service from Rebecca O was fantastic and really elevated the whole dining experience. She was attentive, sweet, and made sure everything I needed was taken care of. The OG Chicken Fried Chicken was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. With great food and excellent service, it was a meal I thoroughly enjoyed!
Not sure if this is a chain restaurant, but it did have that feel. Husband and I had been walking around a lot that day and wanted to just sit and have a bit to eat. This place is really beautiful inside, kind of industrial chic with big windows looking out at the boats docked in the harbor. Tables have brown kraft paper on them with a small sampling of crayons. Even as adults we had fun with this while waiting for our food. We split the calamari appetizer which was very yummy. Then I had a chicken curry rice bowl. I wasn't expecting to be blown away, but damn it was nice! I really enjoyed it. Husband had a burger which he said was really good. I ordered a glass of wine which was a generous pour. Our server was super peppy and fun. Overall quite enjoyable.
While visiting St John's, we went to dinner at Jack Astor's and had a lovely time. We didn't want to eat much, but we definitely had a lovely meal. Our server, Karan was really nice and helpful.
1st time visiting Jacks and I have to say what a great atmosphere, nice friendly staff, the fish and chips we're amazing. Highly recommend visiting Jacks if your in the downtown core you won't be disappointed.
Updating my review: I want to say thank you for the feedback from the manager. It is the first time I have received an apology from a restaurant. I agree that everyone can make mistakes, and I will be happy to give this restaurant a second chance. “I ordered meals for pickup, and everything was good until I opened the pasta with chicken. The chicken was overcooked and black. I’ve attached a photo. I don’t have time to come back since I was already far away when I opened it. I don’t understand why restaurants give customers meals with visibly burnt chicken. Of course, it will taste bad. I understand if something is wrong that isn’t immediately visible, but here the chicken is black, and the restaurant thinks it’s normal to serve this to clients. It was very disrespectful.”
Great food and service. We ordered the striploin “The Memphis” steak. It came with baked potatoes, crispy onions, vegetables and mushrooms. It tasted delicious. We also had the lobster and crab dip which is great too. Found the wings a bit tangy for us but overall it’s a highly recommended place.
Skye was an amazing waitress who was very helpful and very attentive. Awesome food and great beer! Will come back!

My girlfriend and I had the best experience. From the Joe King hostess when arriving without reservation, (sorry did not get her name), to our server Grace, it was the best time. The Xmas steak special was divine. Cooked to perfection, and the seafood tasted out of this world. Went to Jack Astor s on Sunday December 15th to celebrate my brother s belated birthday and everything was amazing, our waitress sky was amazing always checked in on us and made sure we had drinks and made sure everything was good and was very interactive with us and at the end of us eating everything and my dad had paid for everything sky had noticed that my dad had paid for our meals and accidentally paid for something that someone else had ordered at a different table and she quickly jumped to come back to us and apologized for it and we got our refund from it and then repaid for what we had actually ordered, very nice waitress and did a phenomenal job

I came down on a Saturday night to watch the leafs game with my buddies, keep in mind I m a Montreal fan but that s besides the point. Our server Matt Janes was the best, I never had an empty drink in my hand. We laughed, chatted and had a great time. He made me enjoy the Toronto maple leafs, crazy. If you re lucky enough to get Matt you ll understand what I m talking about!

Great patio on the harbour! I always pop in when in Newfoundland as the food and cocktails never disappoint. Servers and bar tenders are friendly and welcoming. The bathroom stalls are a work of art adding to the fun atmosphere of the whole place.
