325 Duckworth St, St. John's, NL A1C 1H5, Canada
Buzzy, colourful pub offering classic bar bites, plus an extensive menu of draft beers.
Some of the best fish and chips I have ever had. The texture was unreal and the portions were more than generous, a must stop if you love fish and chips. 10/10.
BEST fish and chips that I have ever had, and that's saying a lot. I got mine the way the locals have it with stuffing and gravy on the chips. This has ruined me for life. The atmosphere is incredible. A small pub crowded with locals and, on the day we were there, cruisers (yes, I was one). So the wait can be substantial, but do not munch on a little something before you go, as you will want all the belly space you can get for this delectable treat!
Get here early in the evening if you want to grab a spot in order to eat, this place is a must so it was busy! I had the fish and chips with dressing and gravy and it was a big portion and one of the best fish&chips I’ve ever had. Incredible fish and batter and dressing, great gravy, got a few drinks from the bar, amazing dinner. They squished tables in and still had people waiting but it was a great atmosphere, and my waiter provided great and quick service. Definitely will be back on my next trip.
We were told to have the fish and chips here. Fresh cod? Yes please. Best fish and chips I've ever had. Lightly battered and full of flavor 😋 Highly recommend!
Great place to get some east coast fish and chips with the dressing - just be sure to get there before 8pm as the kitchen closes. The bar is open much later if you’re just looking for drinks. The staff are friendly, always busy.
Heard this was the best fish and chips in St John’s so we had to try it. It was busy so we had to sit on the back patio which wasn’t the nicest atmosphere. Fish and chips tasted good, but not sure if it’s worth the price. A bit weird that we ordered the 2 piece and got 4 smaller chunks of fish. Service was very friendly and attentive, except for the fact that we got the bill and the payment machine handed to us at the same time. Paid the bill first and then read the receipt after to see that we were incorrectly charged an extra $6 or so for a Greek Salad that we didn’t have. My own fault for not reviewing the bill first but there wasn’t much of an opportunity. Overall, a pretty average experience and overpriced.
One of the best places for real fish and chips. Had the 2 piece and my wife had the 1 piece with garden salad. The batter was light and crispy. Fries were also good. It was happy hour and the beer on tap was dark horse. Amazing local beer. Will highly recommend this place and will definitely visit again.
This restaurant has some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. They're so delicious. The service is quite good and friendly! And the location is so cool! The only downside to this otherwise perfect visit, is that the portion sizes have shrunk a lot.
Perfect. Thanks!
Great fish and chips and a good atmosphere. Not the cheapest, but nowhere is these days and the prices are comparable to nearby spots. Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance is accessed by a staircase in an alley
Very nice place
A irish bar
Been in there regularly since 1990
Amazing little pub in the heart of St. Johns. Try the famous fish & chips!
I dont like this place yet every time I visit St Johns I end up here. So take that for what it is. Typical dive bar.
Fish and Chip with gravy was very excellent
Loved the fish and chips! Atmosphere is your typical irish bar style which we are used to, only thing we didn t like was one of the recommendations for beer was Guinness, we were looking for local selection and one glass came back with that.
Great service and atmosphere. Excellent fish and chips. Steve the bartender knew his stuff
Dropped in last night, fancied some food and a few beers and to watch the game, I figured with all the football scarves hanging in the Duke, it was a safe bet. Theyve got a bunch of screens, showing the NFL, NHL, Baseball, so didnt disappoint. Beer selection is pretty large, spirits selection too. Food is great and decently priced. Staff were friendly, didnt give me too much abuse for being a Patriots fan! Locals were friendly as well. Ill almost definitely be back at some point
Had all we were looking for! Except for Irish cream ale!
Great place for a pint and some quality pub grub.
The fish and chips with gravy, you must get the GRAVY with the chips. I am not a fan of poutine, but this gravy is special! The fried fish was indeed better than the grilled, but the grilled was still tasty. Mayo was awesome as well!
Tourist trap. The place was packed and a group of people had accumulated near the door to be seated. We stood there awkwardly waiting to be seated for 20 minutes without any aknowledgement from the staff. Its like we didnt exist. The fish and chips cant be good enough for that level of service. Yikes.
Wheelchair accessibility: not accessible Food
Fun place to hang and have a beer. We had fish and chips good but not the best. That goes to a place in Iceland. The iceberg beer was really good. The service and atmosphere were unbeatable.
Best Cod fish and chips I ever had. Great service. Good beer too! Food
Fantastic fish and chips and the best creamers in town!
Get the toutons.
Best fish and chips I ve had bar none in a cozy pub setting. Batter was the perfect amount of crispy and lightness on a fresh piece of fish!
Food was great (fish and chips )we ate on the patio inside was very loud
Amazing food
Perfect
Best fish in town
A wonderful pub right in the heart of St. Johns, NL.
Highly recommend the Fish & Chips! Don t miss out on ordering it with Gravy and Dressing too! Fresh, flakey, crispy and the portions were more than enough. Restaurant had a great atmosphere and was worth the wait for our larger group.
No presentation, need to visit Nova Scotia for good fish and chips
Service from staff was friendly and attentive. The fish was absolutely thee best Ive ever had. Poutine should really come with curds, none the less. The best fish with fantastic light batter is the best Ive ever had. God love your cotton socks. Food
The Fish & Chips were exceptional, Fries with Gravy & Stuffing. Service was excellent.
Best fish and chips in town ... PERIOD.
This place is exactly what it should be. Get the Cod and Chips with gravy and dressing, a pint of Black Horse and have the best kind of time.
5/5 chowder top notch best chowder in St Johns 10/10
Vegetarian options: A few salads and a vegetarian sandwich. Dietary restrictions: Not really the place for gluten-free Parking: Paid Parking on street and in nearby parking garage Kid-friendliness: Not really for kids Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible
My husband and I were visiting from Ottawa On and we wanted to have lunch at the Duke. I can not walk too well so I have a travel electric wheelchair. The Duke is not wheelchair accessible. However a very lovely, kind and personable young man named Alex offered to help my husband carry my chair into the restaurant and helped me make my way in with my cane. He provided us with amazing friendly and helpful service. In today s world it is hard to find people like Alex and we feel the Duke is very lucky to have such an amazing young man representing their establishment. Thank you Alex for making it not only possible for us to have lunch there but for your incredible kindness and help!!!
Amazing place! Had so much fun!
Atmosphere is great, 2 piece fish and chips was very good. Well fish was, fries/chips were not very good
Great service. Fish and a chips was good.
Crowded , fun
I hear the fish and chips is quite good here but Ive yet to be able to try it. Been down three times and either its been far too busy to get a table, or they are no longer serving food (8pm on a weekday I believe). The place is exactly the same as it was 25 years ago, could use a touch of freshening up but it has its charms. Pints are always good here.
Have been trying fish and chips all over St. Johns. This was so good. They were absolutely packed when we arrived but somehow they found us a table and were amazingly efficient in taking our orders and preparing our food. The fish was probably the best Ive had in my life, although being from Alberta I know steak better than cod. My wife hates fish but ordered it anyways. She really enjoyed it and cleaned her plate. I would return here in a heartbeat. Prices were reasonable, server was run off her feet but still polite and got our orders perfectly. Thanks for a great visit!
Did not eat anything. But the drinks were cold and the service was great.
Great food. Fish and Chips was excellent. Cozy atmosphere. It was very busy so service was a little slow.
My kids got screeched in, barista was amazing. They loved it!
Best fish and chips in town - a must try on your list of restaurants. Highly recommend.
Best fish and chips! Really neat place and close to the Harbourfront. Highly recommend Food : 5/5
Came here on recommendation from a St. Johns local. Best fish and chips Ive ever had. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the city.
Best fish and chips we ve ever had and with very generous portions.
Best place for a real Newfoundland experience. Raucous, loud, fun and holy busy. The chowder is good, the fish and chips are spectacular
Fantastic fish and chips
Super fast and friendly service. The cod is AMAZING!
It was really busy and had to wait for 15mins to get a table! Worth that time waiting! Had their deep fried fish and onion chips! And yes with the iceberg beer! Made my day complete smoothly!
Stopped here as part of a walking food tour. The sample was very good.
The Duckworth was a fun experience and nice right of passage while being in St. Johns. Fish and chips were good, i expected the fish to be a bit more stellar, but i think it was an off day for the catch and not the normal quality theyre used to.
The best fish in the city.
Best Fish and Chips!! Fish cakes are to die for.....OMG melt in your mouth. We were a group of 10 and had a fabulous afternoon. So good we visited twice. Food
Solid pub to check out on yout trip.
Excellent food .great service
This wasnt what we expected. I thought we would be welcomed with a warm atmosphere and great music, neither occurred. The food was not impressive at all and really the only saving grace was the staff who were polite, friendly and attentive. Glad we at least tried it but would not return.
This place was perfect and the fish and chips were absolutely amazing
Fantastic service, grear authentic Irish pub atmosphere, food was OK.
Service was great and the fish and chips were AMAZING!!!
My forte pub and place for Fish and Chips. Tradition when we go to St Johns
Great beer, poutine and chowder!! This place was so fun and good, we went twice during our 3 day stay.
Favorite place to stop in and get a beer and fish chips dressing and gravy. Can be busy so be prepared to wait.
Id give the fish n service a 6 n 7
Food had no flavour. If youre not white you get noticed very quickly... Vegetarian options: None. Some dry leaves thrown together. They pressure you to call it a salad. Parking: Good luck finding your parking. Kid-friendliness: Huh.... are u joking? They have so many bases to cover before that. Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible by wheelchair.
Place is dope. Exactly the kind of pub I was looking for. Try it out.
Excellent fish & chips, great meal!!
Wonderful, great atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Ordered through skip the dishes. It was delivered to the doubletree fast and was tasty but we had a much better experience going into the restaurant. The fish batter was crispy, and will be back next trip to st. Johns. Parking: Down an alleyway, but worth the effort.
Omg, best Fish and Chips in history. Do not miss this, no matter what.
Fries were good. Fish was delicious. Come here and taste the meals for yourself. Food : 5/5
The best fish and chips Ive ever had... get the fried cod.
Great experience, knowledgeable about their product, and makes great suggestions! I had their fish and chips, with added dressings, gravy, and coleslaw. The batter on the fish was light and crispy, while the fish was soft and flaky. The herbs in the dressing were a nice touch to the fries, and the coleslaw was on the creamier side. Each item was an individual add-on, so you can pick and choose which ones youll like. Overall, it was a great lunch.
A cozy English-style pub with great service, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and some good home cooking. If you have the time at lunch, grab a pint and a chowder!
We visited The Duke last week while in St.John s on holiday from NewBrunswick. We read the reviews and wanted to try the food based on the rave reviews and I must say we were not disappointed. We all had the fish n chips and they were absolutely delicious! Servings were huge! Great ambiance and the staff were wonderful. A must see pub to visit.
We had to wait for a table on a Wednesday mid June but it was worth it. All five of us ordered deep fried fish. It was perfect. Lightly battered and crispy, fish hot. The onion rings cost us a little more but they were great. Service is perfect, they talked to us while we waited and asked a few times how it was. Thanks.
Food was gross, dried up and overcooked fish and fries that tasted like left overs. In my opinion it was a waste of $70.00 I guess when all you are really interested in doing is selling alcohol then you dont care about the food ( drunk people think everything is great ). Also not good to have staff bickering at each other with customers around.
Great little pub.
We either came here at the wrong time, or this place is somehow riding on the reputation of its own coattails. Everything is dirty, the food was mediocre and generic (that s a generous way to say it), and the service was nonexistent. Save your money and your time and go somewhere else.
Best fish n chips meal.
Awesome fish and chips and nachos
One of the best Fish & Chips place in St. Johns. 2 pcs of Pan Fried Cod, 1 beer, tips & tax, came to about $42 per person. Alex was my server, nie guy. Bit pricey for sure!
The Duke of Duckworth is awesome! The pan-fried cod was flaky and tasty, and the bacon cheeseburger hit the spot with its juicy beef and crispy bacon. Great food and a relaxed vibe definitely worth a visit!
Had the « famous fish & chip », but was disappointed that there was no coleslaw or even veggies/salad when 99% of the places that exist have that. I had to eat half of my fries with my fork because they were crumbs. And the waiter asked if you want some gravy, but then charge you for that without telling you that it s extra. How can I expect to know if every questions they ask comes at a price (do you want water, ketchup, etc )
Best fish and chips Ive had in my life. No question.
Great food. Enjoyed the atmosphere. It may be small, almost elbow to elbow room but cozy. Well be back. Awesome service.
Fish & Chips were better than some I had in the UK. They really do them up right and the batter is fantastic!!
Best fish and chips I ever had.
You need to stop in at this renowned pub and try the delicious and flaky fish and chips. The 2-piece is potentially enough for 2 people. Dressing for the fried fish is amazing and the fries arent overly salted which is great. Service is excellent, decor is pretty cool. Please note that the kitchen closes at 8.
Would be 5 stars across the board, except for the gravy. Best fish Ive had this trip Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible
No deserts!
Your own little old English style pub with the best fish and chips ever.
Amazing food great service ! And we got to get a picture with their famous lamp!!!
If I could give this place a ZERO star rating I would. I was told this was the best place to get fish and chips from in St. John s and was highly disappointed. The fish was UNSEASONED, not even a taste of salt or pepper. They didn t give me tartar sauce. Also, why do customers have to pay for coleslaw when ordering fish and chips? Waste of money and time. If you like TASTELESS food, order here. 0/10. THUMBS DOWN.
This is exactly how I pictured my Newfoundland Fish and Chip meal would be. The best fish and chip Ive ever had. Service was great and friendly. Loved the atmosphere of the place. If Im ever back here in St Johns itll be my first stop. Even beats a walleye fish fry shore lunch.
Fish and Chips are as good as Id heard
Fish and chips were awesome, the atmosphere was great and is interesting.
Great place for a few drinks and a game of pool. Food service ends at 8pm.
I have been going to Duke since I was 19! Always an awesome time.
My fave place for Fish & Chips in Torbay.
I wish the place had more seats, but the beer, and fish n chips is absolutely amazing! Amazing service too! Kudos to the team of The Duke of Duckworth.
I got together with a friend and we really enjoyed our early supper together. We were able to have a good visit I had pan fried cod and she had her favorite a hot turkey sandwich. Both were delicious. We will be back soon
Amazing food, fresh homemade French fries, and mouth watering fish, and absolute delite.
Terrible food was barely edible dingy dirty pub to top it all off waiter was opening salad dressing with teeth disgusting
Best Guiness pour in the province!
I went to this place during my first visit to NL. I loved the fish and chips there. The fries were so fresh. I had it with dressing and gravy. Highly recommended
Choice of beers ok, no cocktail list, music not too loud and quite good
Still possibly best fish and chips this side of the Atlantic. Service was good. Classic pub.
I went to this place during my first visit to NL last July. My tribe went for a walk downtown around 8 at night. On the way back home we passed by and wanted to have a drink and relax for while. The young waiter approached us and said. The kitchen is closed and we are not serving food no more. Ok. We just want to have a drink. The young waiter responded to us to go the bar and left. I have noticed the young waiter keep looking at us and probably don t want us to be there. I said to my family, let s go somewhere else. You are in the restaurant business industry, I think you should improve your hospitality cheers
Fish and chips are highly enjoyable. However, it is advisable to carefully review your bill. I noticed that I was charged more than the price listed on the menu, as it stated $12.99 for one portion of fish and chips but I was actually charged $18.99. I also discovered an additional sit-in fee, which was not specified on the menu.
Best fish and chips in town. Exactly what was expected.
Delicious as always. Good service, great atmosphere, lots of beer on tap. By far the best fish and chips in the city, there are others that come close, but every time I go to the Duke Im reminded that none of the others are quite as good. Parking: Parking can be hard to find at times, however this is not unique to the Duke, everywhere downtown struggles with parking at times. Wheelchair accessibility: Unfortunately being located in an older building with its entrance and bathroom only accessible via stairs it wouldnt be easily accessible with a wheelchair.
Great food, staff were wonderful. We were a group of 10 and they accommodated us on their deck which was lovely. Will definitely go back. Vegetarian options: Cheese and broccoli soup was delicious Kid-friendliness: Accommodated our 6 yr old with smaller size
Best fish and chips in town.
This place is great. It was very busy when we got there, but the hostess was able to get us seated quickly when a table opened up. Their fish and chips are famous for a good reason!
The best fish and chips of my life.
In town for work and needed a place to eat/unwind after a lengthy layover in Halifax. So went on a recommendation from a buddy. The place was used for Republic of Doyle for sone of the bar scenes so it was cool to be in a pub used for a show. Menu was decent and since I can t have fish I went with the traditional club. Delicious. Also I had a local pint and it was great. Don t remember which one but I enjoyed my meal and drink. It was also cheap drafts so when we got there the place was packed but eventually it emptied out quickly when the happy hour was over. Place could use sone better lighting and seating but when you re at the bar it doesn t matter. Great chats with the servers/bartender.
Old but gold! Very traditional cozy design in this place. Super quick, super polite service. Good food, decent choice of beers.
Decent food, good beer, and a great vibe. Everything you want in a pub.
Great food great service great atmosphere.
Great little place. Food was quick and the fish and chips was great. I googled best fish and chips in town and this place came up. I would go back for sure.
It is a pub. But it serves the best fish and chips downtown. The full pieces of fish or the bites. Both are excellent. Other pub grub on the menu, but you should only be thinking fish if you are going there. Full bar. Half a dozen average craft beer options.
Great fresh cod, pan- or deep-fried. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible. Food : 5/5 |
Fish and chips, poutine
Old St Johns, with a side of gravy! If you are looking for delish Cod and chips, look no further. Busy at dinner on a Tuesday for a reason!
The Duke is a really authentic irish pub located a few blocks from the local action on Water/George. We stopped in for dinner and drinks on Sunday night. Our server was friendly and patient with our questions and we got to know her as the night went on. The pub itself has great ambience and decor and the bartender was also friendly. We ordered a caesar and a pint of Murphys stout, both really good. We shared the chowder, a piece of fish, and the hot turkey sandwich. The chowder was chock full of cod and has a lovely, herby cream base. The fish was probably the best we tasted in NL after having sampled 5 other places; not greasy at all, light and crispy batter, moist and meaty cod. They win this round for sure. The turkey in the turkey sandwich was tasty and moist, but that was all that was between the bread. The bread was smothered in the gravy so it all got a bit homogenous. The fries were good, but again you have to be a fan of soggy fries to enjoy. The dressing did not add anything, and Im confused by this local menu choice. Note that the kitchen is only open till 8pm, so plan ahead. Im glad we did!
Had few drinks on the bar counter, gave Hollywood feels. Nice place to hangout on a weekend!
My go to place for fish and chips when in St Johns. Nothing fancy just a nice atmosphere and good food and beverages.
Ate here on the recommendation of our St. Johns Walking Tours guide, who told us this is the best place in the city to eat fish and chips. Although I cannot say if this is true, I can confirm that my family loved the fish and chips here. In particular, my son--who adores fried fish--told me that Dukes served the best fish and chips during our 1 1/2 week long trip in Newfoundland.
Best Fish and Chips dressing and gravy
Amazing place love coming here just to hang out and a have drink with friends
The fish and chips was fantastic, best Ive ever had. Cod chowder was honestly awful (tasted of nothing but dill). Dont expect service with a smile here. No one seated us or even let us know to seat ourselves. Our server was clearly annoyed and chucked silverware on the table for us to distribute. The woman who brought our food was equally short-tempered. Prices are on the higher end, and the place was absolutely packed, but worth it for the fish and chips.
First impressions : friendly ambiance, local, cozy feel. We ordered the fish and chips we read about, and it delivered. We also ordered the cod chowder we read about, and it dit not deliver. What we got was a thick, thick, lumpy mash with some carrots, celery, and a little bit of cod. When we asked our server about this, she replied : sometimes it looks like that . Four years in culinary school tell me, no, it should never look like that. But what do I know? It didn t get replaced, nor taken of our bill. So I must have been wrong. On top of that, the chowder and the fish and ships were served together. Maybe something else I missed in school, don t serve the soup and the main dish together. But what do I know?
delicious fish and chips! highly recommend getting it with dressing and gravy
Fun pub. Fish and chips were just what we were looking for. Highly recommended.
For that authentic pub experience
Best deep fried fish I have ever had. Fries were much less interesting.
Best fish and chips I ve ever had. Great staff. Lovely little place.
My hubby and I were visiting St Johns at the beginning of August. I was lucky enough to get a bowl of the seafood chowder on my first night there. We tried to get there in time the next night to have it again but they had sold out, so we tried the turkey soup which was also delish. We also had fish and chips and the batter was so light and fluffy. But that seafood chowder will haunt my dreams until I get to go back!
The food was good, the beers too :)
If you ve been to a pub, you ve been to them all, some say. Not this one. Storied pub with text book ambiance, top notch service and - best of all - the most awesome fish & chips the 4 of us old timers have had in years! Likely, in fact, the best fish & chips in Newfoundland. GO!
Fish was great, the batter was perfect but the only issue was that portion was rather small. The waiter and waitresses seemed disinterested and almost antisocial....sort of like NPCs. Being a server or a bartender more often than not relies on charisma. There was none of that here today.
The fish and chip is worth is !!! It would be event more lovely with a little piece of lemon. The only other thing was the seating: you have to spot a table available yourself, and it s very complicated and long when the place is full.
Their nachos, chowder and fried cod are amazing !
Absolutely the Best fish and chips I ve ever had. Impeccably service and great atmosphere. Great job! To the staff. Highly recommended
Great fish and chips. Fantastic pub atmosphere.
Always vibrant
Love the food the atmosphere and service. Unfortunately for us prices have gone up so much that when one fish fries and pop for 2 people is close to 65.oo without the tip we just cant do it anymore.
Food really good beer always cold live music
Still the best for fish and chips.
Best Cold I have ever tasted. Great staff, cool atmosphere.
The food was terrible. Looked and smelled burnt. The fries were overcooked and hard. Never again! I had such high expectations. 75% of it went in the garbage. What a waste of $70.00+ dollars.
Best fish and chips.
Good food and vibe
Always a worthwhile visit when Im in St. Johns. Great atmosphere and the best fish (cod) and chips with dressing and gravy.
Delicious fish and chips, Nice selection of micro brewery beers.
Hole in the wall, but the food and atmosphere were great. Im sure many people have damaged themselves on the stairs Wheelchair accessibility: I would call ahead to check if there is another entrance as this historic building as I only saw steep stairs to gain entry
Love the locals vibe of this place. Super friendly.
Didnt take pictures but I think the best battered fish Ive had.
Looks like a bar thats been there forever. Good selection of pints, friendly staff, AND the best damn fish and chips cod Ive ever had. Onion rings were also very good. Better than the fries, I would say. Tar tar sauce was also super good. The place could use a cleaning.... tables were a little sticky.
Great spot for atmosphere and beer but eat somewhere else. Everyone says they have the best fish and chips, but my fish was soggy and gross. Couldnt eat the fries much, either. I will not return.
Excellent Food, Service and Atmosphere.
A classic pub in downtown St. John s.
Lovely experience. We go often. Food
If youre looking for a feed of Newfie poutine, ohhh, this place is a great pit stop while downtown shopping or on an adventure. Classic Newfie pub style. Top recommendation for anyone local or from away!
A cool pub with slot machines and interesting esoteric decor. A great place to grab a local pint and the fish and chips are some of the best Ive had in Newfoundland.
Probably one of the best tasting fish & chips around. Batter was very light and crispy. Highly recommend this place Food : 5/5
Cut me off after 3 doubles. I mean your a bar. How do you make money? Haha Wouldnt recommend for a fun time Service
Best fish and chips. Best chowder. Lively place to watch any game. Staff and people are friendly. The entrance is from a side alley with stairs. Wheelchair accessibility: Lots of stairs to get to this place and around the venue
Classic spot! But the service is slowly getting worse. No greeting as I sat at the bar. No smile, no nothing. The bartender looked at me inquisitively? I said, Pint of Guinness. She pulled it and put it in front of me and walk away. When finished, I waved to pay the tab. Still not a word. Is this service at the Duke? Evidently, its devolved to that...
Stowed away at the juxtapose of Duckworth Street and McMurdos Lane, The Duke of Duckworth is a famous haunt, and I knew not how famous until I read rave reviews about its fish and chips and its exclusive use in the local show, Republic of Doyle. Fame apart, the Fish and Chips lived up to its hype, the fish almost melting in your mouth. We also tried honey garlic wings, which was done pretty well too. Didnt get to try the booze, will update once we go back! Prices are on the higher side though, buoyed by the hype, I believe? The atmosphere is quaint and refined, like polished old wood. Retro music plays in phases and completes the vibe. Theres a few slot machines and a billiard board around. When we went at afternoon, the place wasnt crowded at all. They always have some specials on offer, up on display right where you enter from. Service is prompt and good, albeit due to the low occupancy, I believe. The waiter made us a fair recommendation about what to try at the Dukes, since we went there for the first time. Will go again! Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible using a wheelchair, considering the entrance is on a flight of stairs without a slope.
Best fish & Chips on planet earth
