Hong Kong Restaurant in St. John's

Got a noodle dish with bbq pork and shrimp. Where's the pork or shrimp? Very shy on ingredients other than Noodles. And everything was finely diced so even when you got meat, you couldn't taste it

I ordered take out. The food looks Ok but unfortunately the taste just wasn't there. For example the chop suey tasted like it was stir fried in water instead of the usual sauce that I am accustomed too. The egg rolls were puffy, full of air with very little filling inside. The egg roll cover was good and crispy and the filling was ok .just very little of it. The food overall wasn't bad..just wasn't up to my overall standard.

As a five star peujong mcdiddlang chef, I know great chinese food. This yummy treats off the charts bro! I squealed with delight.

Hong Kong is one of the best Chinese restaurant in the downtown area. The food is awesome, the prices are fair and the staff are so nice. I give this place an A+

I drop by the Hong Kong Restaurant a few times a year for a meal when I venture downtown and always feel like I've stepped back in time...and I kinda like that! It's not overly busy nor loud, I usually ask for a table by the front window, which is never a problem for the friendly, smiling hostess...I even like the faint sound of "elevator music" playing in the background...was that Ray Conniff and The Singers? LOL! Now I can't comment on their "traditional" dishes but their "Canadian-Chinese" food has always been served fresh, hot and tasty to me...sweet n' sour chicken balls, chicken chow mein, chicken fried rice, beef broccoli, almond soo guy, egg roll, spring roll, wanton soup, egg drop soup...it's all good and inexpensive! I can honestly say that I've never had a bad dining experience at the Hong Kong! :)

Ordered through traveling table food arrived the restaurant service was awful. Ordered "kung pow chicken"(supposed to be spicy) B15 on the menu and steamed rice the chicken . Now I'm a cook for a living at a reputable restaurant in this city and I take pride in cooking and espically Asian cuisine. What I got for king pow chicken was undercooked vegetables and little fatty peices or chicken in a sauce that kinda tasted like chicken noodle soup. So benign a cook I called the restaurant thinking there must of been a mistake. I get the manger on the phone (rudest b****) ever tells me I got the right food then I told her it don't taste right and I'd like a refund or and exchange for another menu item and she blaitently said no. Absolutely disgusted. Epic waste of time and money thanks a lot.

Fresh ingredients! Vegan options! I love the broth of their won ton soup and usually get the rice noodle dishes. If you like heat they have a great chili sauce to add to anything. Just ask! If you are calling for take out, try a second time if no answer during business hours.
