Another establishment that increased their prices during the HST holiday. I was going to visit more often throughout the holiday but not with the increase. You now have to ask for a fork for take-out or they assume you don’t need one. I’ve gotten one fortune cookie in about 40 orders. The food is good but they close early. Interior of restaurant is dated and very 80s.
Food was to die for, best Cantonese spot I've gone to in years in Atlantic Canada. The staff were so kind too, great people to have a chat with. The service was wonderful as well. I definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for American Chinese food, or authentic Cantonese food. Literally, like I said early, it's TO DIE FOR lol!
I think it's the best Chinese food in town. Followed instructions thoroughly, tasty, hot, and quick! Clear and good communication. Definitely my go to take out place. The dine in is good as well!
We found the food bland, chicken balls were huge but dark meat. Pepper beef missing black pepper. Vegetable chow mein was almost no vegetables.

I have been eating here for at least 15 years, and given the choice it's the only Canadian-Chinese food I'd purchase. The classics are all great, and the more 'authentic' (though I hate that word) offerings like Singapore Style Noodles are excellent as well. I've never had anything bad from here. Also, the Wonton soup is phenomenal. P.S. Get the special filled wontons. Deep-fried dumplings served with dipping sauce? Yes please. P.P.S. Assuming they bring it back once this Covid business is done, their lunch menu is insane value.
We’re from NYC and somewhat picky on Chinese food. After a few searches, decided to have lunch here, the waitress was super friendly, we ordered some traditional food out of the menus and it was so so good food. The area was clean and spacious, easy to park your car and near downtown.
Don't judge this book by its cover! The building is a little out of date and it may lead you to expect not very good food, but you wouldn't be more wrong. Honestly think it's the best Chinese food I've ever had. I haven't tried many dishes but the ones I have tried are very delicious and I don't even see a need to check out any other Chinese place in town. I usually get chicken balls, rice, and won tons and it's such a great price. The chicken balls are mostly chicken (unlike pretty much every other place I've eaten at), you get lots of rice, and the crispy won tons are delicious. It's even cheaper if you go for lunch! If you want great Chinese food in St. John's support local and come to this spot.

We ordered take out for NYE, Dec 31, 2022, and we were happily impressed! Im not the biggest fan of Canadian-style Chinese food, but all the dishes were delicious! Will def order takeout from here again.

Went there because of all the positive reviews but how I wish I didnt. We ordered the chow mein, won tons and egg roll. While ordering, I requested if he could keep it spicy to which he said okay and charged 3 dollars extra (which I felt was weird because noone else has ever charged me that much extra just for asking the food to be a little spicy).The egg roll was flat with minimal fillings inside, and the wontons were stale. When we got the chowmein it was bland as hell, no efforts to make it spicy.The only thing we liked was the dipping sauce it came with. Just cheap people looking to rip people off.
We came in late twice and the boss made dishes quickly and the taste is really good. She even put some home grown vegetables to satisfy us.
We recently moved to St. John s (area) and have found our new favourite Chinese food restaurant!!!!! They are super friendly, the food was HOT and super delicious. We can t wait to order again!!
Amazing prices and food. Not a long wait time either, about 15 minutes. The food comes in large serving sizes, but it re-heats better than expected
The veggies were greasy, the chicken balls were rubbery, the egg rolls were overdone and the fortune cookies must have been at least 3 years old. Dont go near this place!!!!
I love their food but the almond sui guy wasnt good this time, it seemed like it was cooked a day before. i found this odd, their food is usually very good.

Good local Chinese food place - only thing I was unhappy with is that there was no option for noodles in the combos, only fried rice.
Had take out here yesterday and it was mediocre at best. Everything was underwhelming. The egg rolls were flattened, the Singapore noodles were bland with no shrimp, the General Tao chicken was just fried chicken pieces tossed in sweet and sour sauce with no heat at all. I dont understand all of the great reviews on here. Oh yeah, they even forgot the chopsticks.......
The food is excellent. The prices are more than fair for the amount of food that you get, the customer service is friendly and they havent gotten my order wrong yet. They are also doing contactless payment and pick-up right now. This is my favourite place to get Chinese food.
This is by far my favorite Chinese food in the city, bar none. They have the best beef n brocolli lunch special (5.99$) Ive ever had, which is the same for the dozens of friends and acquaintances that I suggested to try it out over the years aswell. I cant speak for much else there personally..but the beef n broccoli is always made with fresh ingredients and served hot,the portions are very filling ..and they kept up that consistancy since I started dining there in 2005..been going ever since.
This spot has become my go to for Chinese cuisine in the city. Always quick service and always delicious. Highly recommend the Szechuan noodles!

The food is good, fairly standard, but my top place to eat Chinese for their fast delivery and exceptional service. They are super friend, always accommodate substitutions in the combinations, and have never gotten an order wrong, even when I had three separate orders all with substitutions. Keep up the excellent service

I ordered lunch for a large group during just before New Years. We had limited options at the time and the reviews seemed positive so we gave this a try. It was a great experience! The food was delivered at the promised time and was hot and fresh. I am very finicky about Chinese food, and tend not to eat it often in St. Johns since Ive had mixed experiences. Each dish we ordered from Mea Mei was tasty and fresh (the lemon sauce with the lemon chicken was so good I could have just eaten it with a spoon). Everyone really enjoyed the lunch and we plan to repeat the experience of ordering a group meal from them soon. Even if I have to wait a little bit longer the next time (which was mentioned by other reviewers), if the food is as good next time I will find it worth the wait!
I love love a good feed of Chinese food and Im picky about it. This place by far is the best in town, but you gotta pay for it. Yes, a little more expensive but a much better quality food. Mea Mei Wok is my favourite Chinese takeout.
