My favourite pizza ever!

I was visiting St. Johns for a conference and a local friend recommended Black Cat for dinner. The people working were so polite! We got the Come from Away pizza and it was honestly the best pizza Ive ever had, hands down. I highly recommend this place and when I make it back to St. Johns, Ill definitely be stopping here.

The food speaks for itself. Delicious and creative! Highly recommend for pizza, even by the slice!

Best pizza in town. Angry Pig and Sweet Chili Heat are our go-tos, but we try every specialty one they make. Nothing has ever disappointed. The quality of the ingredients and the sourdough are game-changers. Hard to eat regular pizza now.

First time having Detroit style pizza ever and it is hands down my new favourite pizza place. Their sauce is a beautiful flavour, I love how they top the cheese pizza with it, the sourdough and crust is delicious, I also tried the chicken bacon ranch which was amazing. Highly recommend. I just want them to make a dill pickle pizza version!

I didnt think it would be enough as I was hungry. I was wrong. Even had left overs. Not your traditional pizza. This was absolutely amazing.

Great pizza, probably not the typical style of pizza most people are used to, but give it a try. Great ratios of toppings, the thick pillowy dough is amazing, the crispy cheese around the edge... *Drool* Well definitely be back for more. Nobody comes close to this pizza in town.

I recently tried the lamb pizza and it was truly a euphoric experience. I have never had something that creative and delicious at the same time. Keep up the great work, you are doing it right!

Our family absolutely loves Black Cat! It s by far the best pizza I ve ever had. You can tell there is such care put into each pizza- it shows in the incredible taste and presentation. Beyond the pizza itself, the service is so wonderful. Everyone is kind and cheerful but I had an especially impressive experience. On the last night they were open at the other location I made sure to get my pre-order in. I live super close by (nearly across the street) and felt silly asking for delivery but added a note to my order that I had to do delivery because I was a new mom of twins who were sleeping. When my delivery arrived, they included a second, frozen pizza for free. It was the Cat s favorite. The box came with a container of ricotta, honey and the red sauce. They included a sweet note and cooking instructions. I was so taken aback by the gesture. It really brightened my day. So keep it up Black Cat. We re so happy to have you in the neighborhood.

Nice folks but the pizza is really overrated. Big fluffy crust without much taste and not much on top. Chicken pizza was dry and too sweet.

This pizza is yummy and unique. A lot of care and tenderness has gone into this place and you can taste it in the food and feel it in the atmosphere.

Awesome pizza and never a disappointment! I hope to see one or two more additions that arent spicy or hot! Food : 5/5

Had a couple of slices for lunch while visiting The Rooms. Slices were fresh and crispy cheese to the edge. Very Detroit stylish pizza.

Amazing pizza

Im a big foodie and I salivate just thinking about the pizza at Black Cat Pizzeria! I love how every pizza is made fresh to order. You can literally taste the thought and care that goes into making each of the pizzas. For anyone commenting about the price, sure its more than what youd pay for at Dominos but this isnt Dominos! Youre getting a premium product at Black Cat. The ingredients are super fresh and high quality. Plus, the pizzas are very filling. One pizza will be two meals for me. Which works out to be way more bang for your buck than just getting one sandwich at Subway these days. I save my trips to Black Cat when I really want to treat myself and its so worth it! I even bring a thermal bag with me so that the food is still super warm by the time I get home so I can make sure Im enjoying the pizza as intended. The staff are also always so kind and friendly! Which just makes the experience even better. Thanks, Black Cat! 10/10

Fantastic pizza!

So good! Hot, fresh and great ingredients. The pizzas are a deep dish Detroit style, but the dough is so airy and fluffy so you wont get bogged down.

I just tried Black Cat Pizzeria for the first time, and HOLY CRAP, WAS IT EVER DELICIOUS! I very much appreciate the fact that they have fully vegan options available without having to make alterations. I did find the price to be a bit hefty, given the portion sizes and found them to be a bit stingy on toppings; but with the cost of ingredients these days, and everything else that goes into running a food establishment, Im sure theyre only charging whats necessary to stay afloat, so I wont dock them any points there. The pizza tasted AMAZING, nonetheless. (The flavourful sourdough bread is what makes up for the skimpy toppings) I will not be frequenting this restaurant, due to the pricing, but I most certainly will indulge on occasion, when I feel like treating myself. Very friendly service, as well. 5/5 Stars for taste alone!

I ve been to as many pizza establishments in St. John s as I can think of, and I genuinely believe that Black Cat Pizza is the best and most consistently delicious pizza in town. I ve spent $50+ getting pizzas from other establishments, only to not enjoy the product and wish that I had spent my money elsewhere. With Black Cat, I never regret buying one of their pizzas or dessert treats every bite is so satisfying! The staff is great and the owner is so wonderfully kind. I can t say enough good things about this local business, which is undoubtedly one of my favourites.

I think it tastes like pizza Shandong flatbread Plus the phonetic notation in the toilet, Im pretty sure this is Shandong pancake I originally wanted to give it one star. But his toilet has phonetic symbols, so I added one The shop owner s reply was very good , I ll add another one Im really not used to it. If others are interested, they can give it a try.

Ordered the pizza when staying at doubletree downtown. Still thinking about good it was! The slices were big similar to detroit style. Ordered the angry pig & pepperoni, rainbow bright. The delivery was fast, and had leftovers. A must return visit when back in St. Johns. Food

Good customer service and unique pizza.

One of my favorite places to get pizza in Newfoundland. Its a bit pricy but filling. Make sure to try out the focaccia cinnamon buns they make on Wednesdays. Parking: Theres only a few spots infront of the store.

For a place in that location, it looks designed mostly for take-out. It is clean and tidy but lacks a bit of ambiance if youre there for more than just wait for your order and leave. Nevertheless, very good pizza in its own style. The thickness and the way the tomato sauce is added makes it pretty unique and particularly tasty. Great options as well, some of them far from the usual. Friendly and polite service too.

A great spot for people who dont know any better. The locals who never leave the island can praise you up and down - The travelled know this place is a miss. Detroit Style Pizza if Detroit was the name of the street this place was on.

Polite, friendly service! Pizza was good, very tasteful but too much bread vs toppings for me. My wife on the other hand really enjoyed it. End of the day I ll still give this place a 5 star because my only complaint is more of a preference and didnt justify giving a lower rating. Good stuff

So I just tried the all the meat pizza at this place and I gotta say it was pretty good but I ve definitely had better was a bit pricy for how much u get tho only 4 slices if I would give a better review if u got more pizza for your price

The pizza itself was good, the crust was stuffed with cheese which made it better than most other places crust. The only downside is the value proposition. You pay almost $25 for 4 slices. There are much better places to go for more pizza at a cheaper price.

Great Artisan style pizzas, Unique crust made of sourdough - similar to a deep dish pizza. Really welcomed change from the standard local pizzas. Definitely give it a try

First time having Black Cat as I have never been able to coordinate with the pop-ups. Had heard many good things and was not disappointed. My wife, who never finishes the crusts of her pizza finally did. It is a very filling pizza, one pizza was easily a 2 meal dish. Will be visiting again!

Ill start by saying Im absolutely disgusted... with myself for not trying this sooner. This was BY FAR the best pizza Ive ever had. The sourdough crust was beyond fluffy but crispy on the edges. The toppings were noticeably fresh but the best part of it all was the sauce, it was so good that I would put it in an IV drip if I could. The garlic fingers were next level as well. Not an overwhelming garlic flavor like most places, it came out perfectly balanced and the donair sauce on top was a great touch. If you havent tried this pizzeria yet your missing out !!

The BEST pizza in town! There is a reason these guys are selling out consistently every day since they opened their permanent location. Black Cat pizza is simply the best this island has ever seen. The crust is crispy cheesy perfection, the sauce is flavourful and the toppings are always on point. If you follow them on social media you get a peek behind the scenes where you can even further appreciate the time, energy, dedication, and sheer love the owner pours into this business. Stick with them through the growing pains as they rise to meet the demand and pre-order those pizzas to avoid disappointment. I guarantee it will be worth it.

The best pizza in town from the nicest human! I ve been following Black Cat from the very beginning, when the owner was testing recipes with giveaways, delivering free pizzas to people at home. From their first pop-up at Terre to their evening pop-ups at Newfoundland Donut Co to now finally having a spot of their very own. I don t usually like pizza reheated but this is the one exception - order some extra sauce on the side for the next day pizza and pop in the oven, it s like having it fresh all over again!

This pizza is absolutely incredible!!! Detroit style with toppings to die for. I had the Cats Favorite which has pepperoni, basil, hot honey, and cheese. SO GOOD. All options look amazing so I dont think you can go wrong when ordering. Give them a try! Theyre in the same building as the Newfoundland Donut company across from Tim Hortons.

Very tasty pizza joint. My family and I got a few pizzas from here. There were so delicious, great quality toppings. The sauce was pretty thick and on the sweet side. The breading was my favorite part, amazing tasting bread; it was super soft and thick.

Outside of Italy, this is the best pizza I have ever had. It is made fresh, and the toppings are delicious. I dont know how they make their tomato sauce, but it is very good and its not acidic! We were only in St Johns for 4 days, but we went there twice. Brilliant idea to share a store space with the donut company too.

The pizza was awesome. I ve been disappointed by a lot of pizza spots in town lately and needed a new one. This is it. We ordered two pizzas thinking it would be one each but given they are deep dish I think one would have been sufficient, but now we have leftovers! If you want a good pizza, look no further!

Tremendously good pizza! We just moved to St. Johns from the US, and we had a great Detroit style spot right by our old place and this exceeded our love of that. Wonderful ingredients, unique toppings combos, and handmade local flavor for days. Surprisingly good prices too (two pizzas and two drinks cost us less than a traditional large pizza and garlic fingers at another local joint). The owner (I believe) was super friendly and even gave us a free cookie to welcome us to the neighborhood.

pizza was pretty good but I wasnt impressed that it was 15 mins late and I had to wait around. youd think ordering and paying (not to mention tipping!) three days in advance would ensure a timely pizza.

So Yall need to be careful with this pizza. This pizza isnt going to help you with you fitness goals. This girl is Thiccccc. Something special about Philly styled pan pizza though and black cat doesnt dissapoint. Might be the ultimate hangover pizza. Highly recommend especially because good pizza in st. Johns is painfully hard to find.

we tried the garlic claws pizza. the sourdough crust is to die for and it comes out so warm! the serving size is perfect for two. definitely recommend this trying this for your next patio szn date! PS. the cheese might be addictive.

They have got an amazing thing going here :) im so glad a business like theirs is happening in the city! i will be back again and again! it is probably one of if not THE best pizza ive ever had and thats a very high bar. Absolutely incredible, and there is nothing even remotely like it available in st. johns. completely unique and expertly executed.

I m not normally one for thick crust pizza but all I can say is this is different. Absolutely delicious. Easily some of the best Pizza I ve ever had.

First of all the sour dough crust is a great and unique idea. There was a generous amount of cheese. My friends and I decided to go taste the pizza because the people we visited recommended it and what ended up happening was, we ate 4-5 slices each and bought more to take home just so we could have it the next day. Taste and feel and you will understand what I am talking about.

This is pizza made with love; the dough, the crust, the super generous cheese and toppings all combined to make it one of the best pizzas I ve ever had. The only sad thing is not having daily access to it in Toronto. If you happen to be in St. John s, definitely grab a bite

While killing time waiting to head to the airport, I stumbled upon this unassuming little stand on the back patio of the Alt Hotel. I ordered the pepperoni and it was fantastic. Dare I say this is the only pizza worth getting in St. Johns. Pizza was ready quite quickly and service was friendly.

Pizza was absolutely incredible!! Much bigger than I was expecting, I had to take half of it home! If you re thinking of going, do it!!!
