Wonderful place. Great portion. Had to save some for later.

Was craving viet food and didnt think a place like this existed. Amazing food, great service and value.

Had a lemongrass tofu ban mi and it did not disappoint. Wish i had taken a second one for the late night munchies. Full of flavor, can be made vegan if you omit the sauce

I regret not having the time to go back to try a different variety of sub. They all looked amazing. I followed the employees suggestion and picked a beef one and it was phenomenal. The value for what you get is worth it. A great pick me up on a miserable rainy evening.

I was disappointed for Hot Milk Tea. Its diluted resulting lack of taste. It wasnt the one Im expecting. Hot Milk Tea is one of my fav since I was in Dubai working in Din Tai Fung brand.

This is pretty awesome banh mi. The bread is great. I do wish they had Sriracha or hot sauce but its not necessary. Buddle tea is good. Great spot I like it a lot.

Food and staff get 10/10 and I am very hard to impress especially when it comes to customer service. It seems more like a take out spot more than anything. Amazing food, great pricing, and the staff made me feel very taken care of.

Sat to eat my sandwich. Flavour was good. Only ate not even half. Seen most of the staff not washing their hands, touching their phones and earbuds. Serving customers at the cash and then bare hand over at the raw bread dough. Disappointing but not surprising. Obviously the staff has no food safety training. (I am saying this as someone who is trained in this field.)

I visit here on my vacation. The lemongrass chicken banh mi was really good with full of topping and flavour (It even can compare to the banh mi in VietNam in my opinion). The Coffee was okay. The store decoration is cozy, the male staff in the morning Sunday was friendly. Thank you for a great experience!

mixed emotions. the banh mi portion was adequate, but it was simply alright in the standpoint of a viet. maybe the pate needed some more love to the taste. in terms of the cafe sua da, this was not authentic. It feels like they used regular American iced coffee + condensed milk. There was so bitter, rich kick to the coffee. But the size of the coffee is large for the price, so bonus if you prefer quantity over quality.

I would not recommend this place. It was awful.

Used to be my favourite restaraunt on this whole island, stopped going for a while because of the cleanliness issues, finally went back and the quality has gone down drastically, really did not enjoy my sub tonight and won t be coming back. Really sad to see this happen to what was one of the best businesses in town :/ Update, I just threw up, I will never go back to this restaraunt another day in my life, so sad to see y all go downhill so fast

Possibly the best subs Ive ever had. Always flavourful, a perfect sandwich before or after a hike. Vegetarian options: Tasty tofu subs and salad rolls.

Pretty good banh mi sandwiches but expensive. Fair I guess since banh mi does not look to be popular in this area yet. I m used to the more affordable ones in Ontario but quality is still very good.

When i went to order at the reception the indian guy in a rude manner told me just a second then started to talk in his own language with someone over the phone. i waited for quite a substantial amount of time and it looked like he was just passing the time . I mean if it was something serious or urgent then it would ve been okay but it looked like he was just prioritizing his chatting over the customer. Really disappointed with the customer service and i changed my mind of ordering and left. I ve been in canada for a while and its been my first encounter at such disappointing customer service

Second time here, both times were excellent. Great staff, fast service and lots of seating to dine in. 3 Sisters is a delicious take on the traditional submarine sandwich. They start out with a nice lightly toasted bun and give you a choice of sirloin steak, marinated pork, grilled lemongrass chicken, lemongrass tofu, grilled Vietnamese sausage or assorted cold cuts. Most sandwiches are hot with toppings of pickled shredded carrots, onion, cucumber, jalapenos and cilantro topped off with a garlic based sauce. Ive had the steak and the pork sandwiches, and they were both incredible. Price points are very reasonable at $9.99 for any sandwich ordered in house, slightly more ($11.99) on Skip the Dishes, great value at either point of purchase. Bottom line; 3 Sisters Vietnamese Subs is a keeper and it delivers on all levels!

This place is a gem! One of the few if not most affordable independent food joints downtown. The lemongrass tofu sub never disappoints. Seems to be the only bubble tea place around here but it can be a hit or miss for that personally. The premium brown sugar milk tea is a favorite but it really depends who makes them. Vegetarian options: The lemongrass tofu is a must try!

While waiting near the counter for my food, I was horrified to witness a mouse running across the floor. The lack of hygiene and infestation make this place utterly unacceptable. Avoid at all costs.

The inside isnt spectacular which is sad because, they have so much room to really do the place up. These subs are SO good. The bread is delicious!! Food

Sirloin Safe Beef Sub was good. Bread was very good. Wasnt a lot of beef in it and the sauce was interesting (like a garlic butter). Lots of carrots but didnt seem like there was a ton of other toppings put in it. Brown Sugar Boba Tea was good. Service was very fast and the lineup was long but it went by quickly.

I ordered the lemongrass tofu sandwich and it was just OK. There wasnt a lot of tofu and the toppings of carrot, cucumber, cilantro, and jalepeno didnt add much to the sandwich. No taste of lemongrass either because the mayo/sauce, which isnt mentioned on the menu, is really overpowering. I assumed the lemongrass tofu option would be vegan and I shouldve confirmed before ordering, but I have my doubts.

Amazing banh-mi!!! My fave is the beef sate. Family from out of town claims it is better than the banh-mi s in the largest cities in the country. Quick friendly service, delicious, great value.

Great vietnamese banh mi and bubble/milk tea. Place could use a refresh and clean when we visited but not a biggy. Was there for the food and was worth it.

Updated Review: I think they are under new management, as some things I liked before have changed. They have definitely changed the bread recipe as now it tastes more like Subway bread than Vietnamese bread. Everything is served for take-out even if you dine in, which I personally dont like due to the unnecessary waste and effort. Previous Review: Incredible banh mi, the tofu one is delicious. The bread is perfect, baked in-house and tastes just like authentic Vietnamese bread. Love the Vietnamese coffee, but wish it actually came with the metal strainer as shown in the picture (maybe it does if you dine-in). Great addition to the city! Haven t tried the actual food but I have nothing but good things to say about the beverages! The prices are great and they never disappoint when it comes to quality.

The banh-mi was amazing. The sub bread was fresh and delicious. Staff were accommodating to questions and the milk beverage was tasty as well.

Very good sandwiches

I have been going to Three Sisters since they opened a few years ago. I have had some great sandwiches from here, and also some bad ones. After seeing the health inspection results online, I will not eat here again.

So good and tasty, forgot to take pictures of the sandwiches and drinks. Had the lemongrass grilled chicken and the beef sirloin sate, the herbs and seasonings are perfect. The beef sate (or satay for the westerners) is semi sweet by the way, for those whos not familiar. The vietnamese iced coffee could be more acidic, like the coffee could be stronger, but thats just me. So happy to stop by this place!

I had no idea this place existed, but the smell brought me in. The taste will certainly bring me back. So good.

Good and tasty food

i used to order here all the time because i love the sandwiches but a couple of things bother me, (1) theres always hair in my food lol I usually dont care that much when this happens at restaurants but it happens so often here and then i noticed that none of the staff preparing food wear hats or anything. (2) the (iced) bubble teas are served HOT but over ice which instantly melts so then you have a slightly warm extremely watery bubble tea and its so nasty. I always regret ordering their bubble tea and i was a regular bubble tea enjoyer back where im from. Not sure who is running this place but i think im gonna take a break from going here for a while until they get their issues sorted

I really love the bahn mi (subs) from here. So tasty! I particularly like the Vietnamese sausage and the marinated pork chop subs. Depending on your taste, you may want to be cautious on getting all the toppings which include cilantro and something spicy, but Im not sure which veggie it is. Edit September 2023 I still love the food, but am concerned about the food hygiene here. Lots of reports of mice droppings in the inspections and it seems like a lot of the food prep is haphazard with uncooked bun dough being left to rise on top of the counters that customers are walking by the last time I went.

We tried this spot out on our trip back home to Newfoundland. It was recommended so highly by family that it was on our MUST have for places to eat when we went back. We are from Calgary and there are Vietnamese restaurants everywhere here so a Vietnamese sub wasnt anything new. This particular spot was absolutely amazing. So fresh, great quality ingredients, the staff were AMAZING. I wish there was a location closer to us in Calgary!

Having been to Vietnam recently its not fair to compare Bahn Mis. We had the Sate Beef and it was very good. Fresh, tasty and affordable. We would definitely go back.

I m a big Vietnamese sub fan. In my hometown I have a place I go to for my craving but it s not omg I love it . Have yet to find that. Made a small visit to St. John s and found out they had no Vietnamese restaurant I was shocked, but knew there was 3 sisters from a friend. This is omg this is amazing sub I ever had. The flavour in every bite especially the beef one was bursting in every bite, I taste all the spice especially the lemongrass . My husband and I liked it so much we went back again the next day for more before we left the island. I hope this makes its way to Calgary one day. Nice work 3 Sisters!

Servers are so kind every time Im here! I actually watched one of the workers scrub the oven and clean the bread display by hand. I have always only seen this place as very clean and delicious! I was sad to learn they no longer serve salad rolls but the subs are just as good, and the hot milk tea is perfect for a cold winter day! Edit - Figured I should mention no rat dropping! I even used the restroom while I was here and It was clean! Vegetarian options: The tofu is amazing!

This restaurant is an absolute dive. I ate the food here last week, and got so sick, I nearly had to get my stomach pumped. Maybe it was the rats in the bread!

I had an incredibly harrowing experience at this restaurant that I must share. The establishment is in a state of utter disarray, with issues ranging from top to bottom. After consuming their food, I endured a nightmarish ordeal, succumbing to severe illness that led to violent vomiting and dry heaving. The gastrointestinal distress was so intense that it left me incapacitated on the toilet for days, causing such havoc that it resulted in plumbing damage in my home. Despite attempting to cleanse my toilet with bleach, the aftermath has left persistent stains of an alarming nature. I strongly advise against dining here, as the risk to ones health seems to loom ominously with every bite.

Really delicious, especially the beef and chicken breast sub. No unwell at all after taking everything.

Flavourful and fresh. Cant go wrong with ordering from here! I had the Sirloin Sate Beef and it was amazing. It had a very minimal spiciness to it so if youre someone who cant handle mild hot sauce Id get something else. Edit: Okay Ive now tried their Lemongrass Grilldd Chicken. I usually stay away from grilled chicken at restaurants but I gotta say this might have been the best sandwich Ive ever eaten. Also Ive ordered on skip from here quite a few times now and everytime the bread has been really fresh. Best sandwiches in town.

Tried their sub sandwich, bubble tea and spring rolls. Subs are completely made in house (even the bread), the sauce is tasty, bun is crisply toasted and very fresh. Absolute VFM. Spring rolls were homemade and delicious! Bubble tea was refreshing and tasty too. Overall had a really great time and loved the experience. Will definitely visit again! Edit as of May 2022 - Disappointed to edit the review down to 3 stars from 5. From my experience over the last couple of times, the quality of the bubble teas have gone down. Less flavour as compared to earlier and lesser tapioca bubbles than before. Their subs and spring rolls are still good.

What else is there to say about this place - the high reviews say it all. Its also busy pretty constantly - people find the good places and go there. This is one of them. They bake their buns fresh in house - and as someone who has south East Asian ancestry, the texture and flavor of the bread used here is very authentic. Also the flavors of the meat and toppings are great! The price is the kicker - its unbeatable. Huge shout out to the Vietnamese iced coffee - a unique coffee and again very authentic. This is a must do downtown!

The only thing wrong with this restaurant is that its only in St. Johns! I wish there was a location in Alberta! The lemongrass chicken sub was amazing!

We really enjoyed these subs! We had pork sausage, marinated pork chop, and lemon grass chicken. The bread was made in house and warm, yum. Plus the mango tea and iced coffee were good. Sorry I was so hungry I forgot to take pictures.

No pop, only expensive Vietnamese drinks. Sub good but would be way better toasted or at least toasted for longer than 5 seconds. Loaded saté sub has no cilantro and no jalap no peppers. Music good.

Went to Three sisters based on reviews and I cannot recommend this restaurant. I agree the bread was good, but the lemongrass chicken had no hint of lemongrass and was a mayonnaise type mixture. Just wondering if it is under new management?

This place is amazing. I love Vietnamese subs and theirs are the best. The lemongrass chicken is great, as is the pork chop. The bread is soft and fresh, the mayo is delicious and the pickled carrots are crisp. The only thing I d want changed is a bit more cilantro on the sub, but it s still great as is. I have had this place at least 20 times since it opened last year!

Stellar subs. Home for the summer and ordered take out for the family. Chicken, pork chop and beef were all super tasty, that crusty roll really brings it home. Salad rolls and peanut sauce were also really good. Even my assorted from Subway father might be a convert. Will definitely be back!

The only critique is that the music can be really loud inside, so I never want to sit an enjoy and usually get it as takeout to avoid being completely overwhelmed edit: spelling errors

Worst sandwich never ever got in canada, ordered beef one, first 3 bites nothing except bread, hard to see the beef in the bread, even the slices of cucumber more than the meat. Thrown the rest away, dont waste your money on it.

I always ordered and pick up! I was so disappointed this time !!! We invited friends to give a try , ordered 3 sandwiches and ice coffee no ice , and chicken roll! Guess what I had ! 2 sandwiches and ice coffee with ice! So when I called in they said you can come again and pick it up but you need to pay the 3rd one ! Of course I supposed pay it and get it at once no wasting the time ! now 3 people share 2 sandwiches!

Stopped in to grab a sub during a stroll downtown - grilled lemongrass chicken (or something like that). It was delicious. The fresh baked bread with slightly crispy texture was the highlight. Would definitely return.
