Loved it! If youre looking for a nice homestyle breakfast, this is your spot! Excellent food, service, atmosphere and we got a parking spot on the road without any issue.

Our favorite place to eat in St. Johns! Excellent quality food at very reasonable prices. Service was top notch (thanks, Tracey!) and the food always came out quickly. The restaurant is very clean and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We stayed across the street at the Hotel Newfoundland for a week, and we ate 5 meals here! Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly.

We had a good filling breakfast here on a cold rainy day. The food was good and abundant. Our server was outstanding, looking after us very well. Its not fancy but good honest food that fills you up.

Classic Cafe Duckwoth St, St. Johns is a real gem. The food is delicious, reasonably priced and great service. They serve a NL favorite Toutons, ps. They are huge, they also serve fish n brewing and fish cakes as well as all the regular breakfast favorites.

This is my familys go to restaurant for breakfast in St. Johns. The fish n brewis is the best Ive ever had, their toutons are massive and cooked perfectly, and their seafood chowder is fantastic. Havent had a bad meal yet but those three menu items are definitely my top three. Make sure youre hungry because the portions are large!

Excellent mid price restaurant for breakfast or brunch. Table service. Proper tableware. Cozy with fireplace, view, and deck. Large servings - we probably ordered too much food and will order less/smaller portions next time. Under $20 each all in. Closes after lunch daily.

simple and delicious food for a great price.

First time diner. The place is tidy and clean and has a cozy feel. Theres only a dozen tables and they are spaced enough for comfort. The service was top notch! Our server was very friendly, prompt, and never missed a thing with our orders. The food was great and we got our orders in a very short time and the price was quite reasonable. Definitely worth another visit!

Their food is mostly good,though I found the poutine a bit salty. Service is good, they have a good table system. You have to order first before having a seat. The atmosphere is awesome inside, always filled with people. A welcoming place to take your family to have a meal/snack.

Delicious breakfast this morning. I took 2 eggs, fish cakes with extra bacon and a portion of toutons to taste the local cuisine. Everything was delicious. Excellent service in a family restaurant atmosphere.

We arrived here for brunch late Sunday morning and there was quite a line to get a table. This is standard for a good breakfast place and our party of 6 had no issue waiting. We waited about 45 minutes and made it to the front of the line, where the server told us she couldn t guarantee us a table, even though there was an empty table of 4 and a table of 4 that was just getting up to pay their bill. I told her it was no problem and that we could split and just sit 3 and 3. She told us again we d have to wait even though we were next, told us the kitchen was behind by an hour and told us to go and sit down in the porch area and wait more despite being next in line. The food was typical breakfast food, good enough but nothing to write home about.

Great diner! The hostess was super friendly and helpful. Great breakfast menu with some Newfie classics. And they keep the coffee running as all good diners should. Among the best touton I ve ever had! Be careful with the hungry man breakfast though, that portion is huge! Would definitely recommend!

My husband and I have brunch here every 2-3 weeks. We ve been doing this for some time now. First of all we love the service the servers always come around to top up your coffee, which is a nice touch. Great atmosphere and very affordable. Classic food (of course!) which is just what we like for a relaxing Sunday morning.

I have been coming here for years and the food is always consistent and delicious. The staff have always been really kind and fast working. The food is fantastic value, delicious and hardy. Ive always enjoyed their coffee and their toutons are the size of the plate! You have to try this place for breakfast or lunch if you are visiting st.johns! 10/10!!

We came here and tried the breakfast along with traditional dishes like the Touron with Molasses and Newfoundland Beans. Both were absolutely delicious and highly recommended. I would say that the home fries and eggs were delicious as well. Put pancake syrup and molasses on the Touton! It s so delicious that way.

Our first breakfast in Newfoundland. Also our introduction to Toutin! Loved this pastry with molasses and syrup, as well as the traditional beans! Not to mention our main breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast. It s safe to say we were properly stuffed for most of the day!

Food is FANTASTIC! Had quite a few meals here as it was close to our hostel. Very busy place, small place so get there early on weekends as it fills up fast. Shout out to Tracey our server, she is friendly and informative! Look forward to going back.

This place is such a hidden gem. Although it may look like any other North American diner, you can always find a line of patrons waiting to be seated. The food, service, and atmosphere are all excellent, and it is definitely worth the wait. 100% would recommend.

This place right here is why I had the nicknam,e Beans! i went in and told the nice lady at the counter to tell the chef that you keep makin th ebeans, ill keep eatin em. at the end of the day i had 16 plates, let me tell ya the bys were in shock. they were in even more of a shock when i stunk up the car on the way home, some smell. good beans are worth it

One of my favorite places in town. A simple open dining area with a great menu. Friendly, affordable and quick service. Their fish cakes and seafood chowder are a must try. Fantastic coffee too!

My third time at this place! Amazing service, following great measures for social distancing! I highly recommend the 3$ Touton with molasses, you can t get a better deal anywhere else! Prepare for a wait on weekends to get your table but definitely worth it.

The best breakfast in St. Johns bar none! Fish cakes for breakfast, how can you top that? Fresh toutons and molasses thats how! The omelets are incredible and the hash browns are crispy. Its a little tough to get a table now with the pandemic restrictions but worth the wait.

Nice little place. I had small fruit salad, eggs, home fries & toast. Food is just okay, absolutely average, and in no way deserving of 5 stars. But people do what they do and thats why every single resto in the world has a 4.5 rating on every site and the whole ratings thing is useless. Anyone calling this the best breakfast in town is either not being honest or has had the worst bad luck in all their previous breakfasts. Service was the outstanding part, as well as the coffee which was excellent.

Great place with very good prices! I had a small wait before being seated and the servers were extremely attentive toward me. It is a great spot if youre heading up to Signal Hill and need something to eat before your hike.

Friendly staff good food

I would not recommend this place. I was treated very poorly by the waitress. She was extremely rude and completely unwelcoming. I wish I had gotten her name but she seemed to be one of the head waitresses or a manager. I was turned off from the place the second I walked through the door. If you want a nice, warm, welcoming environment while dining I definitely do NOT recommend this place. I would however recommend Bagle cafe (just down the road) or Zacharys (literally right next to this place) they are both wonderful, cozy, and welcoming. This place almost ruined mine and my sweet little brothers day but bagle cafe saved the day and made us feel like they actually wanted our business and for us to eat there, unlike this place. I didnt even get to try the food because the customer service was so poor that it made me never want to go there. Not to worry, though! As Bagel Cafes food is absolutely delicious and so is Zacharys! Would not support here!

Great place to have homemade bread, toutons. My compliments to the cook. Cod tougnes, the best Ive ever ate besides my mother inlaws. The waitress was the best! We will be back for sure to visit for some pea soup !

A good place to go for breakfast. Eggscellent eggs, toast. Not a five because potatoes were not as expected... and to make the meal complete local jams would be wonderful. Coffee refills and friendly service.

We went there for dinner. There was 6 others waiting. Lots of empty tables. We waited about 20 minutes and waitress Courtney said she was short staffed and couldn t serve anyone else. I asked if my husband and I could stay. Two out of eight waiting. She said no. She said she couldnt look after the people she had. This was at 5:30 pm. We left. Disappointing. This is no way to do business. Maybe put a closed sign out since they weren t taking guests.

This is the perfect breakfast spot. Recommended by a local, we knew going in the food would be great and reasonably priced. Try the toutons. Also, If youre from the East coast of the states this cafe will resonate with you.

Cozy, bright, classic breakfast place with good prices and great service. Food is exactly what you expect from a small cafe and came out really quickly.

Prepare your liver. I got the nfld special: tottons, cod tongue and fish cake. Delicious fried food and great service. Parking is tough thought, but the lit fireplace got my temp back up in no time.

There was 4 of us and we all ordered the big breakfast, 3 eggs, 5 sausage, 3 pieces of toast and home fries. Great breakfast, but $75 for 4 people is a lite pricey. Was probably the $11 for the 4 coffees. Staff was friendly, very basic setting.
