I’m not sure if there has been a change to the bacon, but the last two times I got a poutine it was pretty gross. It was gray the first time, and it tasted off, kind of like bologna, the second time. Seems like this location is trying to save a few bucks on food costs and it’s very noticeable. I was a regular but I thought about a poutine tonight and the thought of the bacon kind of turned my stomach… guess I won’t be back.
This place used to have decent poutine but has obviously taken a nose dive. I should've known I was in for a bad time when my poutine order stunk up my car on the drive home. When I got home I was confronted with pale fries that looked extremely undercooked but simultaneously tasted reheated. The gravy was like water - it was near flavourless and had sunk instantly to the bottom of the box. I was starving so I started eating it anyways; this was a big mistake because it gave me severe stomach ache before I got halfway through. Disgusting and disappointing. The food is not even the only thing that has gone downhill - the interior is falling into disrepair, and a large pile of dirt had been left in the middle of the floor. I won't be back.
The quality of the food (at least at this location) has taken a nosedive over the past few months. I used to buy here once a week, but after the food I've been served this summer I am going to refrain for now. I will probably give them another try in the new year to see if they've addressed the issue(s). The fries taste different, I don't know if they are using a cheaper blend of fries or if the staff isn't preparing them properly. I would guess that at least once, the fries weren't par fried.
I recently visited Ziggy Peelgoods Fries, and while the service was top-notch, the fries left much to be desired. The staff was friendly and efficient, making the experience pleasant at first. The fries were served piping hot, and they were impressively fresh. However, within about 5 minutes, they became a soggy mess, turning into one big greasy clump. The undercooked potatoes contributed to the unpleasant, mushy texture, making them almost inedible. Unfortunately, the quality of the fries didn't match the level of service, and I was left disappointed.
Fries must have been cooked 3-4 times before they made it to me. Expected better for place known for fries. 🤮
We just spent $50 on an onion rings, a poutine and two small fries. What we unboxed was mostly uncooked and soggy with grease. We literally could not eat it and threw it all in the garbage. Thanks for nothing.
I hit the foodtruck downtown on Water Street and was having trouble deciding on my order. After I was explained what "Dressing" was, it was a no-brainer to get the Poutine with Dressing. Was that ever a good decision! This place serves their fries FRESH and HOT. It was a great portion size, and every bite seemed to have the perfect layering of gravy, cheese, and dressing; which most restaurants commonly struggle to balance in plating a perfect poutine. I'm a new Ziggy's fan, and word on the street says there's no worthy competitor!
Enjoyed truckers special. Not really a sit and eat in place but I did sit on the window setting area
The Frys was under cooked, almost raw but soagy
You cant even call these chips. Soggy, oily overcooked, supper soggy, sweet? And also smell bad. Worst chips Ive ever had.
Fish N Ziggs were delicious!
Not a dine in restaurant, just walk in and order your fries. Some good options like pouting, fried and gravy, etc. Delicious!
Was just ok.
Ordered a poutine through skip and the portions were small and the pulled pork was burned to a crisp. Not going back here for awhile.
Missed item, stale fries, delayed order. Staff working on 23 Dec eve needs to be replaced
Great price but 2nd time adding cheese curds to the order and not getting any but still paying $19 for the poutine. Wont be asking for extra from here as they seem to forget to give but always remember to charge. Still a great poutine though
Surprised by the awesome deep fried cod!!
I love the food!
Great food, friendly staff. Food servings are enough to feel full for the day.
My order was the first time I ordered . Never got the salsa or sour cream plus she forgot my drink until we asked if it was in the bag first and lady going . Truly the worst service
Ohhh so good....
Classic!
Best fries in town and very reasonably priced. Also all the staff are fantastic - we had an error on our order and they were really good at fixing it and being helpful. If I could I would give six stars for that!
it was good and its great
Not as good as they used to be. My deluxe poutine had hardly any cheese and it was quite bland. For the price, I was expecting something better. Also, the server was very nice but I couldnt understand anything he said as his accent was so strong.
Great
Amazing fries!!!
Best poutine in town. Very reasonable pricing for the amount of poutine you get. Highly recommend trying it if you havent already.
Excellent food!
Excellent fries
Good as always....
Never order from this place, they reuse their oil. Ordered two poutines, both were over cooked in oil that was sitting for days. Fries were mushy and soaked in oil. I feel sick after eating about a quarter of it.
Good feed...lol
Fries not as good as off the trucks
Ropewalk lane. Bacon poutine was excellent and my son loved the veggie poutine
Love it
What can I say, just delicious fries, no frills. About the only complaint I can think of is that there should be a size In between regular and large.
OMG we need more locations around the world. Please come to Calgary Alberta.
Fairly pricey..
Had the FDG it was terrible . Fries were scraps tasted like I was eating old dirty potatoes made in to fries .
Tasty poutine.
Surprisingly good fish and chips at the storefront
Had the large BBQ chicken poutine. It was fantastic and quick!
Best fries and service in town
Best fries around, but you knew that anyway.
Great fries, with they had later hours
I AM A ZIGAROO.
