Come in for the French onion soup my husband love it, one of the best flavor excellent and full of thick cheese. Wings are great also.

Friday fish special. Cold uncooked mushy fish. Skinny little fries. Service was great. Food was not good.

Server was nice, unfortunately the chef decided to leave as soon as we put our order in. No reason was given, probably one of the most awkward restaurant experiences weve had. We left the restaurant once told and probably wont go back, unfortunately.

All good, we were just surprised there was no pepper grinder @ a Steakhouse.

My husband and I were excited to try this place but ended up being quite disappointed. When we sat down, the tables were greasy and someone else s tobacco rolling paper was behind the drink menu. We got the blooming onion, the belfast burger, and the turkey club and spent $60. All the food was quite bland and sssuuuper super dry. The waitress checked on us once and did not offer any refills. The vibe was trying too hard to be fancy when it s really just mediocre at best, even the customers didn t know whether to dress nicely or casual. Overall, we didn t love this and would not come back.

We had a wonderful experience being our first visit. The food was extraordinarily fresh and everything tasted delicious. Will definitely come back again

My chicken wings were so yummy, the sauce was delicious. I had a poutine as well and it was wonderful. No complaints about this place! Lovely service and food was super quick.

Went for lunch, I see they used to have a lunch menu which would have been nice for a few more options but still a good variety and price ranges if you want a fancy steak meal or a wrap, great deals of the week options. Food was very good, server was lovely. The patio is nice but a bit loud some greenery and plants might help! (understandable with the road). As a new business im excited to see how they continue to update the place will definitely be back

I just spent $40 for a drink and an order of steak bites. Absolutely not acceptable. For an appetiser that is priced at $18.99 the bites should at least cover the plate, shouldnt they? A paltry 8-10 tiny bites and a side of dip (not even an ounce, surely) was presented to me. With the many dining options in the city, 1881 Steakhouse has fallen of my list of sure choices. If youre looking for good value for money spent, dont choose this restaurant.

Eaten here a handful of times with some friends. Relaxed, quiet atmosphere. Bit of a limited menu if you are budget conscious.

Great service but the food was just ok. My burger was delicious but the fries were soft and extremely salty, the gravy had zero flavour. My wifes fish was just ok, coleslaw tasted like plain wet cabbage and the fries and gravy were the same.

I ordered the steak bites that supposedly came with a dipping sauce that was not included steak bites were 5 over cooked peices of steak for $20 the burger and fries were soggy and I had asked for Ketchup mustard and mayonnaise on the burger and none of that was included I paid over $60 for this I wont be ordering again.

Food was better when it was Braxtons. Not a steakhouse atmosphere. Over $50 for a steak! Go to The Keg instead. Slow/forgetful servers and service. Too expensive for what it is. Don t believe pictures posted. No baked potato in a steakhouse?? Colossal Carrot Cake was a joke. The only thing colossal was the price.

Terrible wait time. 1 hour, 30 minutes. Not exaggerating. The last person to get their food was a child who ordered chicken strips and fries. Really? A meal that takes 7 minutes in a fryer.----Terrible. Never again.

Super busy on a Saturday night but the service and food were still awesome. Each booth has a picture of places in and the history of St. Thomas on the wall. Would definitely recommend!

Its regrettable I even have to write this review. On February 20 2024 we attended 1881 for a date night , the waitress was awesome the food was on point . However this issue is due to billing as I went to pay my $171.53 bill the point of sale machine crashed, which isnt the end of the world I opted to pay cash. However the machine before crashing did in fact go through. I called on the Monday and the girl who answered acknowledged they were in fact $171.53 over for the night and to send a copy of my statement to their email for review. That was completed February 22 2024. Since then there has been no response and I have called 3 times requesting a manager call me back in regards to this to no avail. I used to come in once a month had they offered a credit, it would have been acceptable but the lack of response tells me Im out the money and they are out a customer.

We dined here on April 21,2023. I have no food complaints. The food was hot, we all(5 people)got served at the same time & it was tasty. Cons: one server on the floor! She did the best she could. She was the hostess, the server, the busboy & the bartender!! Our neighbouring table waited over 1&1/2 hrs. for their burgers!! We waited well over an hour for our dinner plus drinks where not replenished in a timely fashion she can t do it all!! There are 5 owners to this establishment, why can t they pitch in & help when they are this short staffed?? We dined here shortly after the opening & had bad experience but thought we would give them another chance. This was our LAST time to the restaurant!

Great food, wonderful service, reasonable priced and good atmosphere

Went for Mother s Day, waited 45 min. for food to arrive, I had fish and chips, think it was reheated, gravy on the side was in a small bowl (like for ketchup) cost was 2.50. friends came from out of town and wanted Atlantic salmon, didn t have ,so they ordered a burger, didn t taste good, the wife ordered the same as me and also hated it. What are you people doing? We had been there before a few times and it was really good, boy, you went down hill fast. Will NOT be coming back, should have gone to McDonald s instead! At least the servers were nice.

We went here on mothers day. We were the only people there at one point. The waitress was very nice and prompt. The food was good. We had a burger and fries and chicken fingers. The chicken was OK. The burger was very good. The fries were excellent. We had an appetizer and 2 draughts and it was less than 60$! It was only our first time but we will be back to try it again.

The burgers here are a bit more decadent than other local restaurant offerings, however if I were to make a suggestion, a small ramekin of coleslaw would bring burger dishes a boost (something already prepared by the restaurant with the negligible cost), it would further separate burger dishes at 1881 from other offerings on the street.

We went to 1881 tonight for a dinner date. It was amazing evening filled with great food and amazing service. So nice to see such a great steak restaurant open up in st Thomas. I had the ribeye with the garlic mashed potatoes, my spouse had the jambalaya. Both meals were large, well cooked and absolutely delicious. Our server was professional in her service and met our every need. Thank you for a great dinner date evening, we look forward to returning again.

I had a beautiful night at the 1881 Steakhouse last night. The atmosphere was delightful, the food absolutely luscious. The steak was cooked to perfection, as I ordered. The staff recognized our every wish.

The best liver in our area, fork tender and not smothered in greasy onions. Sides were fresh and well seasoned. Reasonably priced, good wine selection.

Food was great. Treated my family and kids awesome. It was a great atmosphere as well. Prices are reasonable. No extra fees added. They have as special beer and cheddar soon at times that I wish was available all the time! Definitely recommend to hit 1881 up.

Steak showed up before the nachos did, friend got the brisket said the best part of the meal was washing his hands. Steak was decent maybe not at that price but it was the only part of the meal I enjoyed outside of the beer.. place looks cozy definitely an upgrade from Braxtons and they did manage to get rid of the smell so they get some points there. Not on my return list though

Burgers are good, service is pretty decent, the 56$ ribeye I believe it was, the potatoes were cold that came with it, veggies were not cold not hot either tho. They fixed it. Would I Return ? Yeah maybe.

Went out for dinner here last night. We were seated in a short amount of time, hostess was pleasant enough, as was the waitress. Our food was late coming out and not that good. Cold garlic mashed potatoes that tasted almost moldy , no hint of garlic in them and completely lacking any creaminess. Wife ordered the twice baked and it was tasteless. Steaks seasoned well but were overcooked and barely warm to boot, go figure. Veggies were carrots that should have been cooked al dente, but were way undercooked. Not sure how any chef, or manager can allow food like this to go out. If you cant send out your food hot ( pretty basic requirement when serving food) especially after a long wait, shows lack of caring/oversight in the back. To send it out overcooked AND cold shows even further oversight. First time we ate here since it opened under the 1881 brand. Décor has been improved since the time it was Braxtons. We really were hoping for a good local experience here, but the food was a big let down for the amount of money they are charging for it. Save your money and go elsewhere.

This was our first time going to this restaurant. We had heard a lot of mixed reviews. Being Valentines we wanted to go to a local steak restaurant. All I can say is Meh. Food wasn t very good, atmosphere was dreary and cheaply renovated. My first impression opening up the door to the restaurant was .yikes. It was a long hallway of bathrooms. Felt like a truck stop in Kentucky. Floors all mismatched, orange brick, orange wood, painted grey beams and black walls. Very little lighting. 70 s tables, chairs and booths. Does not look modern inside like the outside did. It could use an interior decorator to take away the cafeteria feel. We ordered a blooming onion to start. Onion was soggy and raw at the bottom. Dip was tasty. Wine and deserts were half off which was amazing. My husband ordered a $56 steak dinner. He wanted med rare. He got well done and chewy. No flavour. Poutine was fantastic. Yummy gravy and fries. I ordered a sweet salmon dinner with garlic mash, and veggies. No flavour on salmon. It was extremely burnt on the bottom. Salmon was tiny. It was about half the size of other restaurants. Veggies raw, and mashed potatoes were dry. Definitely did not reflect the prices. Desert was suppose to be chocolate chip skillet cookie with ice cream. It was literally two hard chocolate chip cookies. They were not the slightest bit warm. It has so much potential to be an amazing restaurant. It just needs a little work on flavours and decor.

Visited 1881 Steakhouse and Bar in St. Thomas for my daughter s 22nd birthday. We had a Wonderful time. Our server was very attentive and so pleasant. She also makes a great Caesar!!! The food was great. I had the spinach salad with bacon dressing topped with a medium rare steak, and my daughter had the baked mac & cheese. We also ended our lunch celebration with a slice of cheesecake, which was all delectable.! My daughter even had a glass of champagne for her champagne birthday!

5 stars bc they played hozier the whole time we were there

Could be a 5 star with a few changes. Lighting is harsh, just by changing the bulbs to a warmer tone I think would make a world of difference. Service was great. Steak was awesome. Serve mashed potato without garlic and ensure veggie come with the meal and not when your almost done. Desert was the bomb amazing carrot cake...good luck...

Great food, Great prices, Very nice people

A pleasant surprise. What used to be Braxtons is now a family owned Steakhouse. I ordered their Ribeye... it was perfectly cooked and tender..generous amount of fresh vegetables couple with mash potatoes. Our server was attentive. Like any quality restaurant that cooks fresh to order we waited for 25 minutes for food too arrive just enough time to enjoy the atmosphere while we conversed over a drink. Highly recommend

We have been twice now to 1881 Steakhouse + Bar. First time was for dinner. Five adults. Steaks were delish and done exactly medium rare for all of us who ordered. The fresh el dente carrots with asparagus were perfect. Garlic mashed potatoes were extremely tasty. We chose and paid for extra sides of shrimp & mushrooms. The shrimp was huge and both complimented our meals. One adult ordered Chicken Pharm and loved it. The noodles were in a blush sauce which was a welcome change from the ordinary spaghetti sauce you are served at other restaurants. One adult ordered the Cobb Salad and took some home it was so big. Salad dress was extremely good. We ordered Calamari and hot Spinach dip. Both were yummy! Today we went for a late lunch. I ordered the steak bites on the App menu and my mouth was watering they were so good. Serving was just enough as an app. I also ordered their Mac & Cheese full size and couldn t even begin to eat all of it. Leftovers for sure! My husband ordered their 2pc piece Fish & Chips. The fries were so good and the two pieces of fish were huge. My husband brought home left overs too. The atmosphere was lovely both at dinner and lunch. The wait staff are super friendly and completed our dining experience. St Thomas is one lucky city to have such a great steakhouse. We will be back! Unfortunately we went there one and a half hour before they closed and they were already closing the place down 10 mins after we ordered. We were trying to eat and they were putting up all of the chairs and counting their money. we were leaving 10 minutes before they officially closed and we could hear them saying lets put their chairs up and get the hell out of here pretty sad. The place could have atmosphere and the food was really good, the staff are itching to get out of there (just close at 9 if thats the atmosphere youre going to provide)

We were welcomed by a hostess and seated promptly. At our table of four diners, three had steak, one had salmon. Everyone loved the drinks, food and service. Cant wait for the patio to open. Sangria and appetizers for sure.

Took my family to 1881 Restaurant in St Thomas (formally Braxtons) to celebrate an engagement. I was really disappointed. The service was good as the poor waiter tried to keep us happy. The service was slow (Kitchens fault - was estimated 30-40 minutes for mains, ended up waiting 1 hour 30 minutes). Enough ingredients were run out it felt like half the menu was unavailable. The available food was not great. Steaks ordered were supposed to be med. rare and were served almost blue.. Sent back and came back sub par. No redness to the meat.. almost as if there was an attempt at salt curing? The fettucini and macaroni and cheese were dry with very little cheese sauce. One family member had the salmon and was pleased with it. French onion soup was also very good. I dont think we will return. Mostly an absolute disappointment.

Not all items on the menu were available. Calamari was small and cold and expensive. Spinach dip had hard cold bread pieces. Burger looked great but was not very tasty (beef was hot, brisket was cold and bacon was also cold). Sweet potato fries were over-salted (couldnt taste them at all). Our drink refills took 15 mins to deliver even though they sat on the bar for most of that time. One of us ordered extra ketchup that was never brought. Not going to this place again.

1881 has a great vibe and atmosphere. Amazing and friendly service. Incredibly huge and beautiful patio. Very large, long bar inside that is separated from the dining room with multiple big screen TVs showing sports. The food was SO DELICIOUS and the desserts are to die for! A must visit for sure! Vegetarian options: Veggie burger option Parking: Big parking lot Kid-friendliness: Kids activity menu with crayons, high chairs and free dessert included in kids meal. Kids eat free Wednesdays!

Ate there a couple of weekends ago, came in from out of town and heard good things about the restaurant. Overall not a bad place, they had a lot of unavailable things on their menu but we also came in close to closing so that wasnt a big deal. Steak was good, the twice baked potato was the best Ive ever had. This place calls themselves a steakhouse but they dont have the accoutrements of a traditional steakhouse. Ive been to steakhouses across the world and Ive never been to one that doesnt have bread and or rolls to serve with the main course. Im not even asking for it to be complimentary, I just wanted some bread and butter with my steak. You also have the wrong colour spectrum lamps in your light fixtures, its like walking into an office building. Get rid of those 5000k light bulbs and replace them with 4000k. You will get a milder spectrum of light, which will be easier on the eyes and will have the vibe of a more classic steakhouse. The biggest issue I had with 1881 was your staff putting chairs up on the tables while patrons are still in the restaurant, especially before closing time. This makes your establishment feel like a dive bar, not an upscale dining establishment like youre trying to portray. My review would have been lower but your quality of food saved it. Fix the problems youre having in your dining room and this would be a five star restaurant.

We were greeted by the hostess and brought to a patio table which we asked for and sat. Then for 15 minutes we were not served or even acknowledged. While a server waited on a table beside us. A different server served the other 2 tables around us. And at one point we believe it was an owner or manager came out and sat and chatted with a table behind us. A group of ladies came in about 10minutes after we did and a server was there getting drinks. Again before we were even acknowledged. No hi, no a server will be right with you. Nothing. I have been a waitress for 10 years. So I feel I can say this was unacceptable service. I did mention to the bar staff on our way out the situation to which she did apologize and offer drinks on the house. Which we were not in the mood for by that point. So we did leave.

Would give no stars but you have to give one to give review...it was a special occassion and family went there Saturday for supper and waited over an hour and a half for food. Everyone had been served and left... were still sitting waiting for food that really wasnt that outstanding. Dont waste you time going there...better service and food at McDonalds

I don t share the same opinion as those who rated this place higher than me. Our first impression began by entering and being held in a line, right outside the washrooms. The stench of urine isn t very appealing. I would have to wonder why they chose the back entrance and not the front, or street entrance. The atmosphere did not match a high end steakhouse, more like a sports bar vibe. We waited over an hour for our food to arrive to our table. The seats are not comfortable and we were happy to be out of them. The food was ok. The Caesar salad might as well have been from Metro. Steaks were good but not worth what we paid. Feels like they are imitating the Keg a tad too much. There was no bread to even occupy us during our wait. Overall, not worth the bill we received. I really wanted to finish with dessert and coffee but couldn t afford another extended wait. Our waitress didn t even ask us.

Went the the other day with a party. Steak was good. Desert was burnt. Drinks were not made properly. Took hours after we ordered to get our food though. The atmosphere was very classy but the chairs were missing peices and some parts of the restaurant had no decore at all. Very pricey and probably will not go back. Food

We had reservations for 7:00 p.m. they said they were busy meanwhile the restaurant was almost half full. took 2 hours for food to come, when the food did come the food was staggered we couldnt eat as a family because of this very very poor service. They didnt offer any free drinks or salads. We had 3 kids and waiting 2 hours with them being very hungry didnt help. We had to ask for a discount. They didnt offer a discount. NEVER will we go back

I had the misfortune of dining at 1881 (Braxton s) for Mother s Day that left me disappointed and questioning the competence of its new owners. From the moment I stepped through the door, it was clear that this establishment had undergone a bleak and underwhelming makeover. The interior was unchanged besides painting the booths black. It conveys sadness rather than sophistication which they advertise. To make matters worse, the waitstaff appeared to be a group of completely inexperienced individuals who seemed ill-equipped to handle even the simplest of tasks. Their lack of training was evident in their confused expressions and the numerous mistakes they made throughout the evening. It was incredibly frustrating to witness their fumbled attempts at taking orders and serving dishes, resulting in unnecessary delays. The previous waitresses that are no longer there were amazing so it s sad to see the place in such disarray. The menu, or should I say, the sad excuse for a menu, was extremely limited and lacked any creativity which they mentioned they were adding. It seemed as if the new owners were trying to cut corners by offering a meager selection of uninspired dishes. The lack of variety was not only disappointing but also contributed to the overall underwhelming dining experience. Now, lets talk about the most unpleasant aspect the prices. It was mind boggling how the new owners had the balls to charge such high prices for subpar food and lackluster service. Every bite I took felt like a painful reminder of the bill that would be waiting for me at the end of the meal. The quality of the ingredients used did not justify the price and it left me feeling cheated and taken advantage of. In conclusion, I would strongly advise against visiting this restaurant. The inexperienced waitstaff, overpriced and lackluster food, slow service, and overall depressing makeover left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. Save yourself the disappointment and find a dining establishment that values its customers and strives for excellence, because this place certainly falls far short of those standards.

Nice selection of menu items for meat eaters and vegetarians. Some dishes were a bit on the pricey side for how much food you ended up getting. Staff was very friendly and service was great. Would recommend calling ahead for reservations during dinner time on weekends. We came early and had no problem but by 5:30pm on Saturday there were people waiting for tables and those without reservations either had to wait or leave. Garlic cheese loaf was great, cauliflower bites were good also, sauce was a bit on the spicy side. Grilled chicken dinner with veggies and rice was good but chicken portion was pretty small for the price. Fish and chips were good but fries a bit over-salted.

The service was incredibly slow. It took over 2 hours to get our meals. They told us that they were working on getting the steaks prepared properly...we did not order any steaks. The food was good once it arrived, but not worth waiting that long!

A very positive dining experience! 5 star service for the tastiest salmon dinner that I enjoyed very much. Totally impressed with the friendly & attentive server to every detail as well. My dinner was delicious, honestly, mouth watering to the very last bite. The ambience inside and out is very welcoming.

I have gone to this steakhouse a couple times now. Food is amazing, staff are very friendly and the new renovations make the space very welcoming, great place to catch up with friends and have a great meal! Only once did we have a small order mix up and our waitress was quick to apologize and fix our order! Overall a fantastic experience and I highly recommend, especially is you re a dessert person!

Food was great. One of the best burgers I ve had in town. Dining area needs work, hopefully that will come with their continued success. Also it was slow, but the staff were attentive and the quality of food made up for it in my eyes.

Long wait for meals...

On the mains they offer a choice of any side, but apparently if you order something like fish and chips or chicken tenders and fries..this is not the case. Found that misleading. Had to wait a long time to even place an order, they seem to be experiencing some growing pains.

Decided to randomly go in and check this place out. Was not disappointed. Atmosphere has been updated and changed beautifully. Staff were busy and smiling. Food was so delicious, Coffee was excellent which you dont find often, and pric a were quite reasonable for a roadhouse/ bar/grill type of place.

Finally a top-notch steakhouse in town! Great experience and well aged steaks! Service and food is excellent.

Ordered medium got well done, wife ordered medium well and got medium. The mashed potatoes were too mushy for my taste. That said the steaks tasted great.

If you like industrial lighting when eating then this place is fantastic. And no music. It s called a steak house. It s not. They have 4 steaks on the menu and a lot more other basic food. The top sirloin is more expensive than the New York. . I had the wings was told by the waitress never had a complaint. I suppose if you like your 7 wings overdone and dry for 15 with no dressing then yes, no complaints. Also a friend had the turkey club. If you love dry day old turkey that sticks to your teeth you will love this over priced dish. Place has been open for 3 weeks and I only wonder how long before they go bankrupt or how deep the owners pockets are. You could probably do better at home without trying. I didn t try the over priced steak and I m glad as what they did was so less than average, sub par. If you like to over pay for low quality food you might sort of like this. I d be surprised if this place makes it to the end of 2023. What was amazing was there were actually people dining. It was July 1 2023. I don t know who thought this was a good idea but I think they need to go to culinary school

Wasnt given the option of a booth or a table. Preferred a booth. Ordered the liver but wanted bacon instead of onions. Expecting an upcharge for the difference. The server indicated that the manager would not provide the bacon even though its a side option on the menu. Otherwise the meal was good. Pretty much a Braxtons 2.0

Food was delicious and was well timed for a table of 8. Server was very friendly. The steaks were well cooked and the potatoes (twice baked and garlic mash) were highlights. Good selection of apps and mains for different budgets.

Service was a bit slow but was lunch so 1 server is understandable. Food came quick after waiting for order tho. And steak was cooked to our liking exactly and was great. Be nice if whole menu was available tho we both had to change our orders as they didn t have it in stock.

One star only because I could not make a review without selecting one. Arrived 1645. 1700 finally had someone take our order. 1730 Appetizers showed up. 1820 asked if the food was coming. Waitress said oh you were not told that your meal would take awhile, blaming the hostess for not mentioning it. Passing the buck. 1830 food finally arrived. Food was good, maybe under a heat-lamp too long but still tasty.

August 6 at around supper time I and my friend Julie for a change decided to try this place I was not very impressed with the liver and onions as well as the side which was carrots and spinach the carrots were as hard as nails plus the potatoes were supposed to be garlic mashed and I didnt even taste garlic. The liver was about just maybe about 4 mouthfuls. Julies fish was good. The both meals totaled 33.00 they so called gave me a discount of 3.00 and tax was 3.90 so this was in my thinking was not a discount its a joke. I can honestly say that I will never go back to the 1881 again.

My wife and I love the new decor and new menu options. The food was cooked perfectly and very flavourful. The steaks are just as good as the Keg. We ordered Manhattan to drink and they were mixed perfectly The service was excellent, our waitress was quick and friendly. The new patio is a great place to enjoy some food and drinks. Dietary restrictions: The waitress was very accommodating for my wifes Gluten Free diet.

My friends and I ate at 1881 tonight and we were all very pleased with the service and food. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable of the food. The food was delicious and the prices were very fair. Based upon my experience I would highly recommend 1881 and will definitely be going back.

Our waitress Nikki was amazing. So polite and cheerful and very quick service. She also had them make a hot Hamburg Sandwich even tho its not on menu. Thank you Nikki.

4 of us went there for supper, my chicken was not cooked and you could see it clearly, the lady we were with ordered a triple decker sandwich brown bread and toasted, well she got white bread and not toasted, one of the men ordered a chicken Caesar salad and the lettuce was limp and the salad dressing on it was not Caesar he said did not taste right and it went back as well. now the broccoli cheddar soup was good.

I have autism and I was so worried the environment would be overstimulating, but the lights were not too bright for me and the noises were not at all overwhelming! The server was so nice and had a great sense of humour and the food was delicious! Five stars!

Terrible food. Do you want an example? I ordered broccoli and cheese soup and I m pretty sure they put a jar of cheese whiz in the microwave. Or how about the calamari that was stone cold that they then returned to the table over cooked after the waitress, put her hand on top of the plate of food to see if we were lying about it being stone cold Nope

1881 steakhouse had Tyler DeLargie performing on the patio. What an amazing night. Great staff, food, music, drinks, atmosphere and weather. Would highly recommend checking this place out you won t be disappointed!

Very expensive for the small amount of food you get. $15.00 for steak bits all 4 small pieces which were over cooked, spinach dip was nothing great the only thing that was good was the Mac an Cheese.

Monday is a good time to go for dinner. Had the special Ham, scalloped potatoes, and vegetables along with a glass of wine. Food was cooked perfectly and tasty. Service was prompt and courteous. Next time well try the ribeye.

Very little to be happy about. Our blooming onion was swimming in oil, appetizers came out cold, sangria just tasted like watered down juice, the restaurant had run out of certain steaks, the sweet potato fries were floppy, soggy, and sad, and in general the other food was nothing exceptional.

Niki was our server. She was very friendly and made our experience very nice. Good food and wine selection. Nice to have this option in St.thomas.

Excellent experience! The room was dimly lit and quiet, our server(Niki) was wonderful and the food was delicious! The menu has lots of variety and the price is nothing to complain about! Would definitely reccomend for a nice date night or family dinner! Will be back!

We decided to use their new take out service and get dinner the other night. I got the steak with loaded twice baked potato and my husband got wings and bloomin onion. The food was still warm when I got home. We found all the found delicious and would definetly order again.

Excellent place for blooming onion with a cold beer. Food is so good, and great service made our outing well worth it. Prices are comparable, so dont let that stop you.

We decided to try this place because we havent been there since it was Braxtons. The staff who greeted us and who served us were pleasant and attentive. Kyla was an amazing server who went above and beyond to make things right. What went wrong was that my fish was very burnt on the bottom, which I think the kitchen knew and sent it out anyways. Kyla got a new one made and it was good the second time. One thing that was not great was the amount of loud voices coming from the kitchen, especially when a server went in there. It was not a great ambiance as we could hardly hear the music playing. This should be solved, especially if you want to be known as a nice steak restaurant.

Service was very slow, just go get drinks was over 20 minutes. Our waitress was always out on the patio but when we tried to get her attention, she would turn and go back inside. First thing she told is the stuff they DON T have. She only checked on us once. Ordered a bottle of wine which was warm. The place has been fixed up, much cleaner and the patio is lovely. It was a mess before. Food was ok. We had the brisket which was cooked quick, didn t have smoke flavour and was very chewy. Steak was ok, nothing special. Lasagna was the special and it was just basic with bagged cheese on top. Probably won t return, only thing they have going for them is the redone premises.

Excellent experience this evening. Even though it was busy, Our food came out fast. Our server, Rene, made our experience a memorable one and we are looking forward to returning.

The worst experience I have had in a restaurant. I work in the industry, and I know it can take a while for food. But- come on- 45mins and still no food?? Our garlic bread was not cooked, 5 shrimp and had water to drink for $31.51. I had ordered a salad with chicken, and my boyfriend wanted a steak but couldn t get the top sirloin not to his temp that he perfers so did order the New York 45min later still nothing. Good luck to see how long this restaurant will be open for.

Second visit here. First time was great and so was the second. Both steaks I ordered were cooked great and the sides were awesome.

Table had 9 glass rings. I requested they wash it and it came right off. So I guess I was placed at a poorly or non washed table. I ordered a med well steak. This can be a challenge to get right but it was overcooked, very dry and chewy. I expect better at a steakhouse. I expressed my concern but wasn t offered another one. I asked for au jus to wash it down, they didn t have it and offered me gravy which was also bad. Due to dietary restrictions I shouldn t be eating gravy so all around this steak was a fail. I was put in the bar area where ultimate fighting was the default. No one was watching. I requested it be changed since not everyone including myself wants to see bloody fighting while I eat. I am the first to provide good feedback where due. Based on this experience I wouldn t return.

Waited 41 minutes for the food and it was cold. Wont go back. This was the first time for our visit thought we would try it. But never again and they didnt seem to care about the situation. Didnt offer anything to do for us. Waitress wasnt even check on out food while she was franternizing with 2 ladies that work there at the bar. That is what is wrong with a lot of the restaurants in St. Thomas

Inconsistent service and food quality.

We were seated at our table quickly, food and drinks were served in a timely fashion. The waitress was nice and checked on us a couple of times. The steak was good, but the mashed potatoes tasted like instant mashed potatoes that were watered down. They were kind of soupy. I couldnt eat them. Also, the atmosphere just wasnt there. The lights could have been dimmed down a bit to make it feel like warm and cozy, a fake flicker candle on the tables, it would be nice to have some pics up on the walls and those booths are so uncomfortable. Parking: Lots of parking.

The service was quick. The food was awesome. Very full plate and flavorful. Will be going back. Recommend 1881 Steakhouse for service, price and tasteful food.

Tried this place for the first time tonight and the food was fantastic! We shared the tenderloin steak bites as an app, smaller portion if youre sharing but very tender and the garlic dip is amazing. I had the 1881 burger and my bf had the Belfast burger. These burgers were huge, juicy and delicious! They definately dont skimp out on the toppings either! Even the fries were season really well. From start to finish we were there for a hour. Hostess and Servers were very nice. We saw another couple get the blooming onion and spinach dip which we will definately be coming back to try!

We went on a wed night. Ordered 2 steaks & 2 burgers. Hubby says steak was good, but after waiting 1 hour & 15 min for food, our burgers came & were burnt. There was 1 waitress working, she was the bartender , greeter & waitress. There were about 10 tables. We felt terrible for her, naturally things took long. Felt it was a bit overpriced. Cost $140 .

The food is amazing. I think its the same as Braxtons just maybe new owners but Ive always loved the food. Plus you can get delivery now. My daughter loves the mac and cheese and you can get them to make it however you like it which definitely helps for picky eaters lol. I recommend this place as its one of the better places to get steak in town and like I said, they deliver . The only thing I dont like are the prices. $35 for a sirloin is a bit much but there is a cheaper steak lol. Parking: Theres always plenty of parking Kid-friendliness: The staff are wonderful and always make everyone feel great Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, wheelchair accessible but the door is not automatic

Server was great, but she did not check back soon enough. My 10oz New York steak was warm at best and more rare than medium rare. Baked potatoes was really good and veggies were a little oily but enjoyed the flavor. When I brought these opinions to the server, they offered to remake it but by the time she checked in, My company and I were halfway done. There was no effort to give any discounts to make up for the shortfalls. When Im spending $110 for a dinner, I expect better quality. Hopefully they figure it out because it has potential.

My colleague and I ordered the maple salmon, it was dry, no flavour at all, just the salmon flavour itself, veggies with it tasted like canned vegetables, will never order that again, our colleague had the steak, and loved it. Guess the next time we will get the steak. Our server was nice.

I ate lunch here today and felt like I treated myself to a gourmet experience. The food was delicious! You could taste the quality in every bite. Such a treat to have real food cooked in house by chefs who know what theyre doing. Ive recommended this new restaurant to my parents and they had an amazing experience. Try it for yourself. Your taste buds will thank you.

We have given this place a couple chances, and unfortunately wont be back. Was hoping for a great steak house in town, but it is lacking. Service is slow, steak is never cooked right, owners dont do anything to make it right, always out of things so you cant order what you want most of the time. Ive tried to give it a chance but I just cant.
