Had 2 pieces of what seemed to be bone in my spaetzle. Absolutely disgusted and will not be coming back

Been coming here for years, awesome tasting doeners and french fries. Super good value for your money and the food tastes home cooked. A true staple of steinbach, great way to enjoy German cuisine without cooking it yourself. My favourite is the former supreme!

The most inconsistent service Ive had at any restaurant in Steinbach and Ive been to every single one. I even have 2 friends with restaurants here in the city. Ive been overcharged by the girls at the front and refused to refund the amount to my card, when I was asked to speak to the manager/owner they said he isnt here. They kept trying to offer store credit instead. Theyve neglected to give me the correct price for dinner specials on 4 separate occasions now, yes 4. Now today I called, someone answered the phone saying hello then immediately hung up on me. I tried calling back 5 times, they let it ring until it says customer unavailable. I tried going to skip to order instead because I work in Emergency at the hospital and I dont have time to keep calling back, and it says open but when you try to place an order they are unavailable. I drove by on what little break I have, and the restaurant has 4 tables to serve, and the open sign is on. The employees clearly dont care about their jobs or customer service.

Order delivery today at 2:40pm. The soup they send is freezing cold, Doener is soggy and cold. Delivery took literally 5 min, impossible it got that cold on the way. Seems like they precook things before and just store it inside the fridge. At least heat it up before hand it to courier! If people ordering food, they want to eat right away. UPDATE: Aprecciate the response. After heating up the soup it was actually really good. The Doener was so so after having to heat it.

I thought the food was great, and little portions. Staff was friendly and helpful especially being a first time Donaire eater. The atmosphere packed a little but to be fair they just opened and it was my first time going there so it might have been just an off day or time. Vegetarian options: They do have this option

My wife s gyro donair was disappointing, very small amount of dried up, tasteless meat with lots of salad, no sauce, very poor 1 star. My snitzle on the other hand was very good, well cooked nice creamy mushroom sauce and nice fry s. 5 stars for that.

Friendly staff! We ordered the poutine. The fries tasted like frozen fries. The cheese curds were excellent and a very generous amount was added! They could ve had an additional staff member as the server was making the crepes and seemed a little busy. Quick service with a smile though!

Our food was cold and service was very slow. And it was not even busy in the restaurant.

I got the schnitzel plate with a Nutella iced coffee. It was so good!! I thought the fries were great, not just a boring add-on. The creamy sauce on the schnitzel plate was so creamy. The Nutella iced coffee was the perfect level of sweet. I am extremely satisfied with the food, and the inside is spacious and comfortable. I recommend this place.

I had the Chicken Doner and the Cinnamon Crêpes, very good food! Highly recommend. The bathrooms and Kitchen are very clean! Staff was very friendly :)

Never tried a donener until now and wow.. absolutely delicious! My only regret is getting the small instead of the large!

I have eaten here a few times, and enjoyed it very much every time. Best fries in town, and I love their gyro soup and almond cake. Nice casual diner atmosphere, and the service is always quick and friendly!

I am honestly shocked at how many good reviews of this restaurant there are, based on my experience I would never recommend anyone eat here. I had the chicken schnitzel meal and it was awful. The chicken schnitzel tasted no different than the frozen chicken burger patties you would buy from super store, and same with the coleslaw. I am not accusing the restaurant of buying premade chicken burger patties and bagged salad, however if it tastes no different then what is the point of eating at a restaurant. Aside from the food, the whole vibe of the place was just off. The front entrance is the exit, so when you come in from the north you have to walk through the entire restaurant to get to the order area? This makes zero sense. To sum up, if you want to experience Doener Grill, save yourself some money. Go to superstore for the same food and go into your house from the opposite door you would normally to get the whole experience.

30 minute lunch wasted. Staff has no clue how to make something Vegan. They offer a falafel option but no sauces and asked if mayo would be okay. I agree to a no sauce option ask for coffee and I am given a number. I go sit. No coffee. I wait....and wait....and wait After waiting over 20 minutes for a small falafel Donair combo, my fries (not hot) arrive by themselves to the table, barely covering the bottom of the basket they were served in. Use a smaller basket if you intend to serve such a small portion. I ordered a coffee which didnt come until the Donair came few minutes later. Bottomless cup is easy to serve when you dont bring it to the customer until they are almost ready to leave. I had to rush my food and choke down the coffee as fast as possible. Falafels were over cooked and the sandwich was tiny. All in all an awful first time experience. No VALUE in the cost to eat here.

We went tonight super excited, because it says European food. My husband ordered me the schnitzel platter. Let s start the wait is extremely long around 30 minutes. Well fresh made schnitzel take time. Guess what it is a processed pre made meat patty thrown in the fryer serves luck warm. The mushroom gravy is some sort of flours package glue with mushrooms. The coleslaw nowhere to be seen. My husband ordered himself the doener plate, well needless to say he got a pita bread with salad searching for the meat. As he asked the server if this was the doener plate she said no. I must say she seemed pretty embarrassed herself that my husband wasn t able to locate the meat. She went and brought him fries. She apologized and gave him a$5 coupon for next time. We spend $34 dollar for food which was not eatable. We left the plates with most of the food and left. My husband gave the coupon to the table next to us as we will not be back.Please let me know if you need someone to teach you how to make real schnitzel and mushroom gravy. Jaegersosse

Always a great place to eat!! Absolutely love everything! Big selection of milkshakes and so delish and dont get me started on the crepes!! To die for!! 10 stars !!

They dont have 2 bad of food

Doener was meh. I should have known by the price that the small was either child or old lady size. Meat in the doener was cold. Other filling included lettuce, a tiny bit of tomato and white sauce. Flavour was acceptable. Other doener places offer a bigger serving, with warm meat, sliced onion, some lettuce, cabbage, tomato etc. I wouldnt go back to this place for the doener.

Got a doener and noodle soup. Noodle soup tastes like nothing and doener consisted of 90% green letters,barely meat and half a slice of tomato? Seems like this place is trying very hard to save on ingredients. Whenever I have been there portions have been way to small. Cakes are great though.

I love the food here! This past weekend I ordered delivery and didn t get my whole order ...when I called to let them know they were so apologetic and within 10 mins they personally delivered my forgotten items and made them larger! Good service goes a long way!

Had the schnitzel and spaetzle; was really looking forward to it but it was cool/warm and it just didn t do it for me. I ll come back again some day maybe it was just an off day.

The Nutella Strawberry Crepe and the Deep Fried Pickles with homemade Tzaziki Sauce was absolutely AMAZING!! The staff were very friendly, prices were good, and food was phenomenal.

The best Bienenstich Ive ever tasted. The Spaetzle is a speciality. Not as much as I expected. It is tasty. The sauce is chicken Alfredo or close to it. Im used to larger helpings with beef or mushroom gravy.

Best Döner outside of Europe!

For my birthday my beautiful wife ordered super as a celebration for my birthday. I ordered the Schnitzel plate with two pieces of meat. Well, first of all took forever to get the order. Secondly, the portion recieved was inadequate;very little gravy, a childs portion for French fries, and NO Coleslaw.For over $14.00 this is unexceptable. Also,my wife ordered an Original Downer Large Spicy Pork and very displeased because it was nothing but all lettuce and extremely spicy and very little pork. Again, unexceptable, especially at the price of almost $12.00. Extremely disappointed and satisfied!!!!!

Picked up a large box of Doeners for a staff lunch and they were a hit!

The food here is so great and the style of the place is gorgeous.

Ordered French Fries and the cutlery was very accessible and well positioned. Update: again the food was amazing, cutlery to go was phenomenal. Would recommend highly.

Went there a few Saturdays ago at 11.50 and ordered one Doener with fries. There was three people on staff with 2 customers ahead of us without food. It took around 20 minutes to get the food, which seems awfully long of a wait. On to of that the doener was bland. Do not plan to return.

Ordered CBR crepe and the chicken was extremely dry and very minimal sauce. I tried adding Sriracha sauce to it and it was very stale. I ve never ever had issues here we always love it! Today was just a little off :(

Good food and the desserts are really good! One of our favorite spots in Steinbach to grab a bite to eat. Prices are very reasonable.

Sweet and spicy pork poutine is unbeatable

I shared a large poutine with my wife the chips were good but the gravy was to salty not much cheese. Lots of uncleaned tables. One person did most of the work. The rest of the staff were nowhere to be seen. The water was tepid no ice. I will come back but if there is no improvement in service it will be my last. They want tip upfront I suggest you leave a tip on the table for good service.

Tasty chicken donair, and borscht hit the spot!

I have been to this place several times, each time trying to give it a real chance, but there are just several factors that make the experience less than enjoyable. This place is kind of a cross between fast food and sit down, which means that you wont have a server come check on your table. This was really unfortunate during my last visit because I was in need of a fork (no cutlery was provided) but would have had to get up from my dinner to ask for one. The meal itself was actually really bad. It was very obvious, by both taste and texture, that the chicken in my doener had either been sitting under a heat lamp since lunch or had been reheated (perhaps more than once). On top of that the doener bread, which was so dry as to be unenjoyable, had cracked before it reached my table spilling all the fillings out. The fries were good though, but fries alone are not enough to redeem a restaurant. I ended up leaving most of my doener on the table and going down the street to Iggys for a proper doener.

This is a wonderful locally owned restaurant that is always a pleasure to visit. I m particularly prone to visiting this place for their Crepe night specials. The staff is always friendly, service is quick and it s an all around great atmosphere. And of course the food tastes great! So many delicious items on their menu, it s hard to know where to start ( Id recommend a Nutella filled crepe or a Gyro doener ) I would definitely recommend you stop by, if you haven t yet!!

I had the gyro it was amazing food was crazy good crazy fast and very reasonable. I highly recommend stopping by if your in the area. Maybe not the easiest to get to but steady flow of customers leads me to believe foot traffic is very common. Again stop by eat here.

Good food but lackluster sanitization and COVID measures. The standard hand sanitizer, but employees werent wearing masks, small plexiglass, and there was no one cleaning the tables after guests left. There wasnt a booth that wasnt dirty in some way. But the crêpes were great. I would highly recommend takeout. Best crêpes in town, way better than Salisbury House. I love their Wednesday 50% off crêpe nights. Even though they are quite expensive for one crêpe, you get what you pay for, even with the more basic crepes. Cannot comment on other food items. Building was unassuming on the outside, but quite modern on the inside. There were very few patrons on a weekday afternoon, but I assume it probably gets busy during lunch and dinner. I would give it a 4 or 5 star if they increase their efforts to increase the safety of their employees and there patrons. A suggestion would be to create price tiers to make their basic crêpes seem more financially appealing when it isnt Wednesday crêpe night. Some professional photos or descriptions under the menu item of their dishes would also be appreciated.

Food was ok, but staff knowledge and hygene was lacking. At least 2 staff left the kitchen, touched their clothes/faces/cell phones and did not rewash their hands. I was also told a dish did not come with fries so i order extra, but it did come with chips and i was not told that. All in all a disapointing experience

Nobody cares about sanitation in this place. Staff was constantly picking their face and nose while prepping food. The owner is just as terrible. When I brought it up to him, he just gave me a look, no sorry, nothing. Worst place ever.

Ive been a customer here since it opened up and have always really enjoyed it, very good food. Portion size is not consistent however, the fries sometimes have a lot less then usual which is disappointing. And often staff and owner do not seem pleased to see customers on some occasions

Hadnt been to Doener grill in some time. Disappointed by my recent visit. Doener I ordered, the pita bread was dried out and hard. On top of that the Speatzel was ~$12 for a handful of noodles. The serving size is tiny to what it once was. Hoping it was maybe just a mistake, because it used to be cheaper and 4x the size.
