Absolutely worst restaurant I have ever been too. If I could give zero stars, I would. The service was TERRIBLE, food was bland and had zero taste, we had an allergy at the table and asked for all rolls with salmon to be put on a separate plate, when they brought the food they never told us which rolls where which and what rolls had the allergen I them. When I spoke with the owner and told her how disappointed we were and kindly asked for a discount, she started arguing with me and told me it was my responsibility as a mother to know what rolls were which ones although there were no pictures on the menu or anything. I could rant for hours about all the terrible things I have to say about this restaurant but I wont and Ill just say DONT go there unless you want to waste your money and have the worst customer service.

We went an hour before closing, and were served an array of delightfully tasting sushi. The pricing is on point with a full meal. From my experience I recommend Irori BBQ house....try it and decide for yourself!

Irori has the worst service. The kitchen staff are kind and more attentive than serving staff! I get holidays are busy but waiting over 10 minutes to order is a bit ridiculous, then waiting an hour and a half for sushi, my table and another table were ready to walk out. People who came after we did got their sushi/ food way before us. I think they need better servers and more of them.

Went for a sushi date, the spider, crazy, dynamite, Bc. The spider as the special is a large long roll. The others were more like 6-8 pieces, which shows in the price differences. The BC rolls seemed like it might have been made earlier and given us the other half, but still a very nice roll. The other three were all very fresh and generously made. Great dinner, will definitely be back for the great looking ramen. Parking: The plaza usually has fast parking turn around. Wheelchair accessibility: All flat ground, some chairs might beed to be moved to dine in.

Made reservations for New Year s Eve and let me tell you they know how to take a reservation. They just don t know how to hold it so that they get a one star.

My wife and I had to walk out of the restaurant mid meal!! This is the first time I have ever had to do this in my entire life. My wife has a restrictive diet and we specifically ordered sushi with the soy papper substitute instead of the seaweed that typically sushi comes with. They brought the first roll to the table as ordered and it was fine. Then they brought the other 4 rolls out separately and with the seaweed. No big deal Im not upset that they got our order wrong, that happens and I understand. The issue is that when we told them that the order was wrong, they said they are too busy doing take out orders that they would not correct our order! What choice do I have, my wife cannot eat the food and they refused to correct it. So I left cash on the table and we left after only having a few bites of food. Then as I am leaving in my car another employee runs out into the parking lot asking me to pay for the meal that they made wrong and would not fix! After I told him what happened and that I had paid he did apologize but still I paid for a meal we didnt even get to eat. This is the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. I will never be going to Irori again.

Extremely disappointed in our experience today. I m not one to complain usually but today it seems necessary. I was given a pickup time of 7pm, it was very busy given it was valentines but I ended up waiting in store for almost 1 hr. I didn t mind waiting as I understood it was busy but by the time I got my order home it was unfortunately too late to go back to have it remade because the restaurant was now closed. The rolls are extremely mushy to the point we can t even pick them up. They are made so sloppy and the yam is not even cooked. I ve eaten here in past and enjoyed my meal, however I guess I d recommend avoiding on busy nights as they can t provide quality output. ***would just like to add an update to this. I called the next day to request a refund as we weren t able to eat the food. I had photos and still have the food they can look at. I spoke to someone there and she asked me to send her photos I took. She called me back and told me she would refund 2 of the 5 rolls we ordered and I needed to understand they were very busy and I could have cancelled my order if I didn t want to wait. I guess now being busy is a great reason to provide bad food. Given that this restaurant is a 15-20 minute drive for me I m not going to bother driving there to get a refund for 2/5 items that we didn t eat. Completely unacceptable, will not return here and will certainly never recommend it. I should have been more leery when I saw other people complaining and even someone returning their entire order during the time i was waiting in the restaurant. Would give 0 stars if that were an option.

Great food but the prices are getting way too expensive :( For a little bit of coconut chicken and rice $19 too much. $23 right there because we wanted rice instead of veggies. LOVE the food. Will say that!

I have been several times and food is good but inconsistant. I usually do takeout. I dined in with a friend and the service was AWFUL. We asked for water 3 times, were never asked how things were, food was a bit subpar this time, had to ask repeatedly for takeout containers, server was snippy and annoyed, then totally messed up our bills and double charged us for items and as soon as menu was requested, suddenly realized her mistake. The animosity we felt was almost tangible.

On Google this restaurant will show they are open regularly. But I have arrived to this place multiple times with it being actually closed. Very frustrating.

Customer service: 1/5 Food: 2/5 Making customers feel unvalued: priceless Our party of 5 wanted to place an order for take out. We arrived at the restaurant and were berated by the owner who tried to herd us like cattle. We asked for menus to look at while we chose our food items. Despite promising we would give them back, we were not provided with sufficient menus for our party. We advised that we had folks with food allergies and dietary restrictions. The restaurant would not provide us with a list of ingredients, but assured us our dietary restrictions would be honoured. (Spoiler: they weren t!) We were made to feel like unwelcomed guests as we waited for our food, and we were absolutely prohibited from sitting at an empty table (of which there were many), despite promising to leave if a party arrived. Speed (not too fast) ahead to when our food is ready: over half an hour after we ordered. We take our food back to eat, and notice modifications we asked for were not made. We called to confirm whether the modifications were made and the front of house staff became defensive and insisted THEY did not make a mistake. A bit of back and forth later, they acknowledge the kitchen staff made a mistake, and yet continued to say it wasn t THEM That made the mistake. When severe food allergies are at stake playing games of semantics is really not a good look: at the very least, take ownership of your mistakes!! As for the food, it was bland and underwhelming. The pad thai also had a texture that could only be described as mushy with the occasional burst of gravel (no idea what could have cause that texture). Tempura was an absolute soggy disaster because the restaurant did not put an air vent on the container. The miso was good given how bad everything else was, I am glad they didn t mess that up. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean. Hands down: the best part of our experience. Overall, would not recommend and will not be returning.

Owners are great people who greet me like family every time I walk in. As it is the restaurant biz they do tend to be training new serving staff frequently but that has never been an issue as you can see the staff are doing their best. As for the food, you cant go wrong. Every item I have tried there has been absolutely delicious... you gotta try the spicy pork stir fry.

Was definitely overpriced for what it was. A $25 bento as a lunch special is quite expensive especially for a small town like Steinbach. I paid $15.50 for a creamy ramen which was very similar to a linguine alfredo, and while it was delicious, I paid extra for the added bacon which only came with one strip of bacon cut up into approximately 6 pieces, and the bowl was only half full of pasta. Certainly not a good value for money, even though the flavours were good.

Hidden gem! The food is authentic and delicious, they have the best miso soup Ive ever had!

I was a bit nervous to make our annual pilgrimage since some reviews from the last year suggested a decline in service. I can only say that our experience was friendly and helpful, and got everything right. The food was as delicious as we remembered, and we were able to order gluten-free and dairy-free options. The only downside was that the price/serving-size ratio had gone up, but I understand this is common these days. Also, a few items that used to be available as GF werent any more. 9/10 I ll have a great experience. Sometimes the sushi is a tad dry, but very rarely. It s my favourite sushi restaurant I ve ever been too, and it will continue to be my go to! Thank you for consistently making amazing food.

Overpriced for what was it. I just compare with the similar Korean/sushi restaurants in downtown Toronto and Winnipeg where the rent is way higher, the menu prices in Irori even couple bucks higher. Korean dishes are ok, but way overpriced. Sushi we didnt like at all, first of all they are really lame made and secondly 1.5x more expensive than in similar sushi places.

sushis house sauce is weirdly sweet, found 2 membranes in a roll after chewing. the fish on the roll is weirdly plastic-like. sashimi does not taste fresh, has a strong metallic taste. i drowned it in soy sauce. tempura was ok not going here next time Food

Ill start off positive by saying the sushi is average. The prices are a little high for the roll size. If you do happen to go, dont go an hour to an hour and a half before close. The dining experience changes vastly within that last hour. The dimmed lights turn all the way on, the music turns off, the heat gets turned down, and they start mopping so you get strong floor cleaner smell while eating sushi. It gets very awkward. I understand half hour to 15 minutes, but not a whole hour.... Service is medicore, and the restaraunt itself needs some TLC.

We ve been ordering from here for awhile, will no longer be.. overpriced, every time we order from there, there is food missing from our order or it is the wrong order. Our pork ramen had unknown meat tossed in it, all spiced differently, as if it were leftovers they were trying to use up. 8 times outta 10, our pickup times are later than we were told or our food is cold when picked up. Unfortunate

Beware of the pricing if ordering for takeout. Ive only been here a couple of times because their pricing was already high. I just called to place an order for pickup based on the menu on their website. There are older menus online in other places but when I placed the order, I asked for the total and it was 30% higher than the menu on their own web site (Which the owner told me on the phone was current). I understand inflation, but jumping 30% at once is excessive. And telling me their web site is current then charging 30% more than it shows is a rather large turnoff. Sorry to say, I had to cancel my order.

Ordered 50$ in food to find out wasn t anything what I order on top of that the food I got seems to be sitting for who knows how long, almost cold and only 4 pieces of chicken on each dish !!! Very dissatisfied and definitely won t never order from them again. Not recommend to anyone at all. Felt totally ripped off didn t even eat the food because didn t like that so empty stomach in bed

I love the food here. My first introduction to sushi was at this restaurant and I highly recommend trying it. Service is good and the food is fantastic!

The sushi was amazing however, don t waste your money on the Pad tai. The sauce they use in the pad tai is way too strong in the wrong way. It kinda tastes like someone accidentally poured a whole bunch of lime juice or lemon juice into the sauce. It was so gross

I used to love eating here, but not anymore. Their food is (usually) very good but inconsistent. Last time we ordered takeout, they forgot two items from our order, and made no attempt to make it up to us (besides making us come back and get the food we already paid for). Im tired of patronizing and recommending a restaurant that seemingly cares very little about their customers.

I dunno what these other reviews are going on about, but the food was delightful. !

After a complain about food they kept calling me back and threatening to call police on me . Small portions overpriced food.

I wish I could give no stars at all... walked in with my boss to have dinner. I have ordered many times to-go over the past year but this was my first and LAST dine in experience. I asked to order something with half the crab meat, she said they couldnt do that. So I said thats fine Ill order it with it. She then continued on to explain very annoyed they couldnt take it out after I already agreed to order it the way it says on the menu. She then said she would be right back.. came back and said they arent taking any sushi orders anymore, took our menus and walked away (??) Very confused we said okay why wouldnt you say that when we first got here I mentioned to my boss that this was one way to make a customer not want to come back which she (the older lady, server/owner?) then yelled oh good dont come back. I am floored and disgusted with this customer service or lack of! Ill stick to ordering from the city where they treat their customers with respect. The only good thing Ill say is the original younger lady who served us our drinks was very nice!

My boyfriend, his mother and I were particularly excited about ordering some of the shrimp gyoza for his birthday dinner, only to realize after picking up our unusually expensive meal, that we were given shrimp tempura instead. His mother called and said there s been a mistake, to which the woman whom I assume owns the restaurant responded with no . She argued on the phone with us, claiming she read the order back to my boyfriend twice (even though she spoke fast and with a heavy accent), and that it was his fault for not correcting her, and not hers for writing the order down wrong in the first place and that for this reason she refused to take any accountability. We realized on the drive there that the pad thai we ordered was also no where to be found in the bag. Me and my boyfriend drove to the restaurant to speak with her (as the owner worked up his mother to a point where we needed to take it into our own hands), and she immediately began yelling at us and rolling her eyes when we asked for either a refund or the food we initially ordered. We were incredibly polite all the while, other customers witnessing her lashing out offered to buy us the shrimp gyoza and she said she wouldn t cook it for us, and she threatened to call 911 despite not even having so much as asked us to leave. We asked how she could rectify the situation and she just shouted No . We asked why we didn t have the pad Thai and she scoffed I don t know, did it just disappear? because I remember cooking it so I don t know . She eventually gave us the refund for the pad Thai we didn t receive after making a huge scene and embarrassing us in front of other customers, but refused to take any blame or give any compensation for the significantly more expensive shrimp tempura we were charged for and never ordered, PLUS refused to give us the food we initially wanted. Unprofessional, hostile and sarcastic customer service on her part specifically. We wasted a regrettable amount of time and money choosing to buy from Irori.

Portions do not even come close to what the photos that they have posted on there website. When we questioned them about it they told us, as the customer, we were wrong. Explained to them that we would not be ordering again from them and end the call. 20 minutes later they tried to call us back but damage was done and we moved on to other restaurants that treat thier customers with respect.

Horrible customer service by the owner. I tried ordering a roll with no crab meat due to an allergy and the owner hung up on me. Then I called back and she proceeded to tell me how they price their sushi rolls out per ingredient- so me not having ingredients in there costs them less to make, and she was saying it somehow costs them more? Made no sense. Never going there again. Never have had this issue with ANY sushi place before or the previous owner of irori. Terrible service

First time ordering other than sushi. The portions are huge - we ordered two pad thai, one with chicken and one with seafood but asked for only shrimp instead. The sauce in the pad thai is very sour which was not my favorite but my husband loved it. We also ordered miso soup, calamari and shrimp tempura and all were very tasty.

Pretty salty and not very good. My boyfriend ordered the chicken pad Thai and it was so salty, I know most would argue that its oriental food so its gotta be salty... No it doesnt. Absolutely doesnt. I ordered the bulgogi Bento box and it was the same, salty and not authentic. The rice wasnt cooked right and the other thing that was beside it, a croquette of sorts, was fried in old oil as tasted really bad. My partner paid around 40$ for this, and were were sad with it.

My wife and I are in love with the spicy pulled pork with rice. Its the only thing we eat there.

Been here a few times and you never know what to expect. Sometimes its been very good other times its been horrible. Their Spicy Pork or Spicy Thai Coconut Chicken have both been fairly consistent and good. When I ordered their Japanese Style Ramen with braised pork belly, that the server said was amazing, they served it with the most fatty bacon I have ever seen and there was a 1/4 or so layer of fat on top of the soup. I was hungry and ate it (bad move). However, I felt awful and couldnt sleep properly my stomach still hurt the next day. I did learn a lesson though, no matter how hungry you are if you are paying a fair price for the food just send it back if its not as advertised.

I ordered two orders of pad thai with chicken and was very disappointed found the chicken to be extremely salty. Very little sauce with the pad thai and missing the flavors that really make Pad Thai stand out.

Its hard to say that the food for the price is worth it when the service is so bad. For starters, they forgot to give us water. We didnt have anything to drink while waiting. It took them an hour before we got our order because apparently theyre serving the take out people first. I get it, but it sounded to us like we werent a priority and we were an inconvenience that we even came to the restaurant. The server went back and forth but didnt even notice that we dont have our drinks yet. We were eating and we were thirsty, and he didnt even check up on us despite the fact that there are only 3 groups of people in the restaurant at the time. I wanted to enjoy the food but I lost appetite because of the service. Id like to think my money is also paying for that and trust me Irori is not cheap, so this incident really takes me right out.

So. Good. The food was amazing. We both had a pork dish with veg and shared a sushi roll. You could tell the sushi was fresh, and the food came sizzling hot. Super super yummy. Service wasnt the quickest ever but it was a very enjoyable experience. I have a list of things off the menu I want to try, and I think that says something about the restaurant!

The owners dont care over their customers and they handle customer service badly. They dont advertise their opening or closing in proper manner for customers to see. I was a regular customer. After the first bad experience with the owner, I wanted to stop going, though decided to support there employees. After the second time I dont know if I will support them. As no one deserves to be mistreated. I worked in restaurants for a long time and I know from right to wrong and how they treat customers is wrong.

Visited first time yesterday. Very good sushi. Very good service. I guess we were very lucky. I read reviews about long wait. Nothing like this with us. Fast and good service. Water is served in half size glasses. But it was refilled several times without asking. So thats good. Gyoza size was a bit surprising. Tiny portion of the dumplings which in the reality looked a half size from which they should be. Ordered chicken ones, tasted like cabbage. Wont order again. But will defintely be back for sushi since theres a huge variety. Loved the design of the restaurant. Window tables are the best. We had a great time.

My husband and I love eating at Irori! They have the best sushi in town, and arguably the best sushi Ive had! They are incredible with allergies (gluten free/dairy free/soy free) - always going the extra mile to ensure zero cross-contamination! The owners are super nice, and remember my name and order haha. I typically do take out if Im looking for a meal on the go, or if I dont have a long time for lunch. But we enjoy going in to eat, just as long as were not in a rush. We know that it does take a little longer for the food, so when we go there, its nice, as we have more time to catch up on life and talk! I would definitely recommend eating at Irori :)

Horrible customer service. Everytime I order take out i never get what i ask for. The girls are rude and absolutely not helpful. They are clueless in the phone and dont seem to understand what i want. Will never order from there again since I never get what i order.

Great Sushi!

staff were polite, the french fries were pretty good. the Chicken katsu tasted funny and was kind of gooey on the inside, coleslaw tasted terrible. The homemade lemonade was just about as sour as those war head candies, Definitely would not suggest this place.

Food is great. Current location is cold in the winter ( very breezy when the door opens ) and the benches arent comfortable. Be prepared to receive your meals at different times then whoever youre eating with.

Trying it out for the first time. Went with my wife and 4 year old daughter. Surprisingly busy restaurant. Got some water and checked out the menu. Bout 35 minutes later got our order taken. Only one person serving the whole restaurant on a Saturday night? Horribly slow service. But it was only one person. A few others that walked in long after, were eating and finished by the time we got some, of our order. Poor group of ladies that still werent eating yet, as we ate, had been there before us! Although the choice of tv entertainment was amusing. Watching how to remove the bowels from a goat while skinning him with bare hands probably wasnt the best choice of dinner watching material and the program they changed it too, after someone complaining, of the aborigonees loading a canoe into the water bare naked and then fishing was just as amusing. Finally after being there for two hours, never even got to try our sushi rolls we had ordered. Would have taken them take out but they hadnt even been started yet. So paid in full and got out of there. Hope we didnt wake the young guys beside us, that appeared to be sleeping on their table after their long wait, as we left. It looks very nice but that doesnt make up for the confusion and chaos that we had experienced. It seemed as though this was their first time running a restaurant, opening night and never expected anyone to show up. Ill stick to the Viet House next time.

I love this place! There food is awesome and the owners are great! But unfortunately they are almost aways understaffed or training people new people so service is almost always super slow. I now only ever get take out here
