Enjoy classic Mennonite Food in the beautiful grounds of Mennonite Heritage Village. Access to the restaurant does not require museum admission.
Absolutely amazing authentic wareneki! Would travel from BC again just for this meal. The whole experience felt very homely.
Our visit coincided with the second last weekend the Sunday buffet is open so we celebrated by trying some authentic Mennonite food. And soooo much good food. Like going home to moms house where there's always lots to eat and lots of people to talk to. Simple, homemade fare, delicious desserts and plenty of hot coffee or tea to wash it down with.
Being of Mennonite decent... it's always nice to come back to my roots and have a traditional meal like Mom would have prepared. Have been coming back at least once a year for nearly 25 years. Highly recommended. Notice some of the other comments... that I guess are Critical tourists that don't understand what the Heritage Museum represents or is about. The museum is run by mostly volunteers... in a time when volunteers are hard to find. Be kind to them... or we will end up losing historical treasures like this. Future generations need to know a politically unaltered HISTORY... it is what it is... and will shape a future for our children.
Family-managed service will never change if you think your kids are doing a good job you are wrong... Then again it is probably how they were trained. Needs a cleaning, cfs chewy, and Salad was wilted. the gravy was ok lemon tasted good. Mini corn dog overlooked and mac and cheese dry. They tried to resolve and was great until the manager came over and kicked us out cause her son was giving poor service.. wish Gordon Ramsy could come here and teach them how things should be. If I could give it a zero I would.. If people don't stand up for good service we will never get it... The gun fight outside was fun and nice
Delicious food that takes me right back to childhood! Everything was perfect, perogies and borscht, bread and dessert, couldn't have asked for a better meal.
Came here with my husband and our 2 youngest granddaughters for the afternoon. They were excited going into the many different buildings. THEN we of course had to stop for ice cream in the Livery barn. Their review of the cone? Goooooood! Great place to visit with your family!!
On mother's day we went to the restaurant. The food was like home made food. So good!!! They provide so much food and you can eat as much as you want. We really liked the food. Also, the service was great. The sweet was also very good. We all loved it!!! In short, great place to eat with family and enjoy authentic investment.
We were at the Mennonite heritage Village, and decided to eat. So we so this nice sign for a restuarant, when you enter the smell of the food is so delicious that my kids just wanted to sit and eat all...we sat down and there was a great selection of food. All was delicious and the staff was friendly. The restaurant manager ( Yulia) was very welcoming. We are sure coming back.
You have to check this place out!! Great service, friendly staff and amazing food
The food is delicious but the perogies are getting smaller and smaller every year, while the price keeps going up. This meal was $17.
Great place on Sunday for a variety of authentic Mennonite cuisine. Stop by at least once a year.
Just so you know the resturant stops serving food at 230.
Love the local cuisine
Good food
If youre looking for authentic Mennonite food, this is it! Definitely reminds me of grandmas cooking
Great food
Delicious food!
Absolutely wonderful food!
Great food!!!
Had lunch and shared a no. 4. It was very good. Loved the cottage cheese perogies. Yummy!
If you want to enjoy the food that kept a farming culture sustained for hundreds of years, this is the place for you! But... If you want to truly earn the right to eat here, you might want to sling 1,000 hay bales first ;) #Delicious
The food is very good. The service is adequate.
Food wasnt as good as I thought
Incredible experience, well maintained facilities.
Its difficult to run a museum restaurant during covid but they did a decent job here. I enjoyed the cream sauce with my perogies.
Really great restaurant! And a special one to go to if you are here visiting. They have really great Kielke!
Aint no dead ones
Yum! Great homemade food!
Reminds me of a good home cooked mennonite meal, the family loves it! Worth going to, the environment is FANTASTIC. Take a walk around the museum as well! Great place to spend an afternoon.
Sunday Buffet is great.

Wonderful restaurant serving authentic Mennonite food in a picturesque setting. Great for families and visitors to Steinbach and the museum. Delicious dishes include perogies, farmer sausage, and homemade desserts including huge and goey cinnamon buns!
Good food and good service! I highly recommend it!
Yummy food.
Outstanding food. Loved it
My family and I had an excellent brunch there on Sunday! The atmosphere, staff and food were all great. We will definitely be back!
Potatoes werent peeled, Cole slaw was not my favorite. Didnt enjoy it.
I enjoyed the soomaborscht soup special, was authentic Mennonite food the way grandma used to make it.
Just bring your own food or eat before visiting. Overpriced restaurant with uninteresting food served by grumpy-looking, college age ladies. The buffet consisted of bland and cold dishes, none of which taste or look like traditional local food. The place itself was infested by insects that give a stinging bite. Visitors have to step outside the restaurant, about 150 meters away, for restrooms.
went yesterday for brunch. Was the worst buffet we have ever had. Hardly any choice and overpriced. Bacon was soft and fatty, eggs were cold. Girl at front counter was not any help .Will never go back or recommend to anyone. Also too far to walk for a walker and senior.
