Good place fast service but gyro sandwich was not great today barely warm dry meat; last visit I had better

This has become our favorite place to eat, not just in Stratford but anywhere. The food is always delicious, the portions are generous and the prices are faIr. The proprietor and staff are always kind and friendly. We love eating here, in fact we are on our way there for lunch right now.

Interesting concept, counter service with sit down quality food. It was my boy s 20th birthday and instead of doing expensive or upscale dining that we normally do. He chose this place. Wanted the Pork Souvlaki, but being fresh made, it was a 20 minute wait. We were on a time crunch, so I opted for the gyro platter. The rest of the family got gyro or chicken souvlaki combos. Food was fresh and tasty and a meal ended up being about $15 per person. 1000% better value than fast food chains for the same cost. The owners (he and she), came out to schmooze all the patrons while we were sitting. Like the old school family diners.

We came to celebrate my sons soccer tournament win. (Undefeated 1st place!) The owner was very friendly and celebrated with us! It made my sons night that s much more special. My absolute favourite place to eat in Stratford! The atmosphere is authentic, friendly and welcoming. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home and the portions are huge and consistent! Where to begin? (AND end!.. given that I have so many compliments to leave, and probably limited space to do so, !!!) But...here goes!... I am a quasi-recent newcomer to Stratford and a long-time lover of the authentic Greek cuisine offered at the annual Greek Festival in my Northern Ontario home town. By happy happenstance, I decided to try this Greek restaurant. You can call me DELIGHTED!! to have found Terrys home cooking restaurant right down the street...and whats more...AVAILABLE throughout the year, not just at an annual festival. Ive done mostly take-out because... tho the place is bright and very clean, the actual seating is somewhat limited, but Im absolutely convinced that ere long, Terrys business will grow massively, and he may be forced to consider another larger location to serve his ever-enlarging customer base. He is a wonderful, very gregarious and personable man, in addition to the necessary chef attributes of creating excellent provisions at reasonable cost. I offer an example of his caring, aim-to-please customer service...after several visits, I once was indecisive about ordering the one piece vs the two piece fish & chips order. To help my vacillating, Terry invited me into his kitchen to personally select whichever pieces of cod that would please me. What a guy!! He is ALWAYS PLEASANT, as are his staff (although secretly, I think at times they, too, must be blown away by his generous nature.) The food is never unsatisfactory...be it be the pitas, gyros, souvlaki, spanakopita, baklava, fish & FRESH CUT chips, meal deals or single items ...each and every one delicious!! I recently visited Athens Greek Souvlaki & Gyro and I was blown away by the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. The gyros were incredibly flavorful, with tender meat and fresh ingredients. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend trying their Greek salad and the souvlaki both were absolutely delicious! The service was quick and efficient, making the whole experience even better. This place is a great option for a reasonably priced dine-in or take-out, family-friendly meal in Stratford. There are great daily specials and a good selection of yummy Greek dishes. The owner is very welcoming, often checks on his guests and hands out little treats here and there. This is how you do it, and I hope this relatively new addition to Stratford will do well in town for years to come.

First time here and tried the chicken souvlaki wrap! The marinated chicken was full of flavour. The fries were crispy and hot when we got our food. Everything was so fresh and full of flavour. I will definitely be a returning customer!

Just stopped in for lunch and it was delicious. Chicken souvlaki was SO moist, rice was fragrant, pitas were pillowy soft and the potatoes were fall-apart fluffy. Chatted with the gentleman behind the grill and now wonder everything was so delicious: hes reported been with several long standing Scarborough and Toronto businesses: Johnnys Burgers and Astoria on the Danforth for those in the know!

Terry and his team created a catering order for our office for a staff training event. All of the food was enjoyed by everyone and it was so delicious. If you are looking for a Greek fix, this is your spot!

Absolutely first rate Greek food. 4 dinners (2 chicken, 2 gyro) for $65. 2 orders (4 pc total) of really excellent baklava for $10. So all 4 meals, salad through dessert with a drink included, under $19/meal. Youd pay more for fast food burger meals, and for most people, what you get from Athens is 2 meals, not an exaggeration. Theyre on Skip The Dishes if you dont want to drive. Whole thing from when I ordered to ready to pick up, 10 minutes. Fantastic experience, will definitely eat there again. 10/10. Parking: Outdoor mall-ish deal, plenty of parking to go pick up your food.

We re not from Stratford so just discovered this Greek restaurant recently and are very glad we did. It s just a small place in a strip mall with a few places to sit so we used the takeout. We had the Greek Chicken Souvlaki Dinner (the Saturday night special) and were very impressed. It comes with a ton of rice, huge chunks of Greek roasted potatoes, good helping of pita, tzatziki and a tangy dressing on the side. for the Greek Village Salad made with lettuce (plus all the other Greek salad ingredients). We also had a side of their fries which were great. I m Greek so am a bit judgey when it comes to ordering Greek food but I m pleased to say I ll be going back and look forward to trying some of the other selections. Oh and that dinner comes with a drink of either pop or water. It s very good value for your money (even more so if what you get is the daily special). I saw they had Baklava so I asked the employee if it was fresh and made there - and yes it was made there by her YiaYia (grandma) and it was delicious. What are you waiting for - go Greek tonight! Parking: Lots of free parking.

Ive been to Athens Greek Souvlaki twice now and I absolutely love the Spartan Burger. The service and food are both top notch here and the price is very affordable. Ive also tried the chicken Caesar pita and Greek feta fries and I enjoyed them as well. I highly recommend giving this place a go! Cheers.

Brought a huge Greek salad from here to a party and everyone raved about it!

Where to start. Such a friendly atmosphere to walk into. The owner makes you feel like a valued guest. Thr prices are very good especially for the amount of food. The food is amazing, full of flavour and fresh! The amount of effort the staff and owner puts in to make sure everything is going well and little extras like bringing candy over to the table was a very nice touch. Better treatment than what you find at bigger family restaurants. Will recommend to anybody, if theres a lesser review on here, the people must be gard to please or they were at the wrong restaurant . Kid-friendliness: Moment we talked in the door with our daughter, the owner came to the front and asked our permission to give her a sucker, very thoughtful and kind to ask as well.

I waited 30 years for a great Gyro in Stratford, and it was worth it! I walked in the first time, the day before they actually opened. The owner said Are you here for a job? I said No, Im here for a Gyro! Had to wait one more day. Been going back ever since. I KNEW theyd do great if the food was great. And it is. 1st time I went back the place was packed. Mmmmm

Stopped in to grab a gyro dinner for lunch before work one day, I ve been a gyro lover since I was little and I was not disappointed! Portion size was huge, and for less than $20 I highly recommend. Only gripe was the server was a bit short with me, but I know everyone has off days. Will be coming back!!

I recently discovered this restaurant, though they ve been open a while in Stratford, and I have to say I m upset that I never went sooner. We went here on a whim and we were not disappointed!! We got 2 dinners for $32 and they were large portions with fresh salad, tzatziki, rice, gyro, potato, and pita! the only reason for 4 stars is that the potato had a weird taste. they gave our 19mo son a small fry for free. which was very sweet! They were also the best fries Ive had in a loooong time. if they have greek fries on the menu (im not sure) get them. It s a cool restaurant with limited seats but still comfortable for a quick bite! They are formatted for mostly take out style but we ate in and they had good Greek music playing and the decor was nice. We enjoyed our time there for sure!

Let me start by saying Greek food is top two favourite foods. I am always looking for the spot. Lived in Toronto for 5 years never found it. I found the spot, in Stratford of all places haha. The people working, the food, the music, it s an experience. The owner is working there, he s the real deal. He genuinely cares about his customers. I got the Gyro platter, and it was glorious! They earned the 5 stars! Things to further improve the experience. To make the dine in experience better would be not using take out containers I understand why they do it, it s just not the same. Food wise it was all amazing, just the Greek lemon potatoes are a bit sour. That s all just tips take em or leave em.

Walking into Athens Greek Souvlaki is like walking into your favourite aunt and uncle house for dinner. The staff, including owner, Terry are all all so kind and generous and to top it off, the food is the best in town!

The service was amazing, and the food was so good.The portions were very generous and everyone mentioned how good it was and that even though they were full they wanted to keep eating because it was so tasty! Highly, highly recommend!

This place is terrific and the owner and staff are very friendly. Our boys love it here and the staff are always so nice to them. Would highly recommend. The chicken souvlaki dinners are amazing and the dinner for 4 is a great deal!

Huge portions at a very reasonable price

Highly recommended, especially as the welcoming and sweet personality of Mr Voulkaridis and his excellent, friendly staff definitely made our dine in experience the highlight of my day. I personally had the gyro pita meal which is made the traditional way, sliced fresh from the spit. Rarely can you find this tradition maintained anymore, so for me, this rated highly. The flavours delicious, the portions huge and the meal...all very reasonably priced. The restaurant itself, very clean and nicely presented. Most importantly though, this is a family run business and it shows...the caring and the sparkling, ultra friendly and welcoming personality of Mr Voulkaridis really makes this restaurant extra special and highly recommended. If you love and truly appreciate Greek food, please make it your priority destination. Thank you Sir. Best of luck to you and yours.

I had the gyro dinner and it was awesome. The portion was quite generous and the price was relatively cheap. I would definitely recommend Athens Greek restaurant if you are craving for good greek food.

Fantastic food. Pita melts in your mouth

The food is pretty good but, weve had bad luck for BOTH of our two visits here so far. The first time they ran out of rice right at the dinner hour! The older man working in the kitchen didnt sound too happy when one of the girls told him that! Then during our second visit they ran out of lemon-herb potatoes! So we took fries instead. I wasnt too impressed with the souvlaki. During the first visit I ordered the gyro meal not realizing that its loose meat and not in a pita. So next time I order a gyro, Ill make sure to say I want it in a pita. Im just worried about what theyll be out of during our next visit. I only give the atmosphere 2 stars because there isnt many tables to sit at and the tables are very close together. Plus the older guy (owner?) working in the kitchen always seems to be grumpy.

It really does not get any better than Athens Greek. The BEST Greek food, really good prices, and the atmosphere is 10/10. Along with the most lovely and attentive staff :). You re missing out if you haven t been here yet!

The chicken souvlaki pita was delicious! The sauce in the pita was really good and the chicken was tender and juicy. The french fries were the best weve ever had and the Greek salad was huge and I appreciated the dressing that came on the side. Terry, the owner, made us feel like family. The atmosphere is nice and bright with Greek music and decor with large pictures of scenes of Greece on the walls. It was our first time and its our new favourite place!! I heard the advertisement on 2day FM and tried it for lunch. Food was awesome. Had a chicken pita and the Greek salad. Really flavorful. Service was quick. Absolutely would return. Healthy!!!

Incredible food and service. Terry is an amazing man who loves what he does. We had a dinner for 16 people catered and the food was so good. They even threw in some extra food. Get the lemon potatoes and the rice, so delicious.

Great atmosphere. Best french fries ever. The souvlaki was tender and moist. Great lemon roasted potatoes and rice, which was very flavorful. Fantastic experience. Highly recommended. And of course Terry provides his own Greek entertainment.
