Can't praise this busy resturant enough. The waitresses know my wife and myself to know what we want to eat there and service is always good! Good food, good service and friendly atmosphere.
It's been more than a long time since I walked in this fabulous place I can't believe I forgot to review it! The customer service was fantastic and they created a hungry man's breakfast for me because at the time they didn't have one so I had blackened steak and eggs potatoes and almost the whole menu but it was amazing and though there was no set price it was still a great deal.. if they still have it get yourself a slice of lemon meringue pie... mmmm mmm.
I haven’t been to Joe’s diner in years. I took a friend of mine there Tuesday morning, and was very pleased with the food I received. They have a seniors breakfast which was very good. The next time I’m in Stratford I’m going back.
We make the drive every month to come here with our family, our 5 yr old and 3 month old :) And today was extra special, the owner let mom have a hot breakfast while he looked after my baby. Such an amazing atmosphere, and even better employees! I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. Thanks again you guys!!
Very busy spot, it's a small restaurant. We were just traveling through this town on our way to another city. Had to wait a bit which was fine as we were there during Saturday brunch time period. The queue wasn't managed well. We got inside to wait only a few ppl were ahead of us, but there was a growing line outside the door but some jumped the line, the front house staff were not attentive. The food was standard diner food, fine for basic eggs or breakfast when your in the area. Quick service once ordered. Server was nice and pleasant.
We where disappointed with this restaurant and the food, just gross. The battered mushrooms where done in a heavy deep batter, difficult to taste the mushrooms. Maybe a light Panko breaded dusted coating would improve the taste and less greasy. You admit serving “Kraft Dinner”, Dan you are responsible for your food weather it comes from another source to your customers, and believe me one fork full of your macaroni and cheese was uneatable. When your waitress argues with the customers it just gets worse, simply offer to replace the substandard food with something palatable. If the staff was properly trained in this restaurant the above mentioned situation would never have happened. Small friendly diner. We stopped here while driving through town as it looked like a nice little place (it is) Service was friendly, food came out quick and was prepared very well. My fiance and I both thoroughly enjoyed the food. My only issue with this place is the waitresses were not very tentative. I had to go find someone to get a drink refill. Only reason they didn't get 5 stats, but it's a great place. Restaurant was also kept clean, would recommend.
We went there on the long weekend and the place was packed but our food came very fast. Food was great, home fries could use a little seasoning but they were nice and crispy. Only reason we put 4/5 instead of 5 was the cutlery and cups were all dirty. A table beside us even sent back their coffee because of it. I think their dishwasher needs upgrading. Went for lunch before the theatre based on all the good reviews I read. Food was ok, service was crap! Server was too busy talking to friends to give us our bill. Had a club sandwich but fries were extra, aren t they always included as a side? Would not go back.

I have been going to Joes for 4 years and have loved it everytime ! Today we went at 130 they close at 2pm maybe that was the issue I said we could come back and they said no I ordered a Reuben I asked if it was a good amount of meat etc , the waitress said it was huge ! It did not come with anything so I ordered hash browns on the side The sandwich was more sauerkraut then anything and so tiny and a handful of hash browns My gf got eggs Benedict and very small portion I have always said Joe had good portions I did ask why my sandwich ( was something like I could make at home )was so small , they didn t seem concerned at all, threw together a half sandwich and brought it out I have had delicious Reubens before this was not a Reuben ! Disappointed to say the least !
The service was fast, the food came quickly and was quite tasty! The waitress was pleasant and efficient. The price was very economical! Ill come back when im in the area.

I had the liver & onion special. It was amazing! Just like my mom cooked it. It was my first visit and definitely not my last Kid-friendliness: They offer pages &crayons for colourings and a jid size menu.

The Friday special is fish and chips.
Its your standard greasy spoon. No serious complaints. The table wobbled but thats easy to not care about. Service was great despite them being busy. Nothing else was outstanding.
Great diner with great food
My Family and I have been at this particular Joe s Diner a few times. Today was the worst experience yet. My order was taken wrong. My bacon was cold. My waitress didn t come to back to ask if we needed anything or to refill our coffee. It s wasn t that busy, they had multiple empty tables. We had to flag her down, multiple times. Horrible service. My experiences with the St. Mary s location was way better.

Food was tasty but the eggs werent cooked the way I asked, and Noone came and asked if we wanted more coffee until we were done and ready to pay. Server was friendly though and it was quite busy.

One of my favorite diners in stratford! The food was good and served warm and on time! Very affordable especially if you are an early morning person who likes early mirjubg specials! It can get busy sometimes especially on Sundays after church. Staff are extremely helpful and super friendly. Love it!

Solo dining but great exchange w next table and newer wait staff Dave. Great exchange w mgmt who answered my question about debit/credit since I arrived to my great shock w no cash .. my preferred pmt method. 1% fee they pay on debit, 3- 4 1/2% I think I recall DEPENDS on REWARDS prgm. When my debit is declined I stunned first say must be cos I never use it. Then as I pull out credit I hear myself gasp and say they BLOCKED it Then I think conspiracy theorist I am and share this. Did you know conspiracy comes from con = together & spire= breathing? Breathing together!! All in all a wonderful dining experience sharing a meal. They are great people and good food there

Worth the wait
Such speedy service. A great diner. I had the BLT with Caesar salad. Delicious. I highly recommend the Oreo cheesecake...... homemade and delicious.

The food was pretty good and the staff were nice but both me and my friend got hair in our food which was very off putting. Upon paying for our food we saw that none of the chefs or kitchen crew were wearing hairnets which doesn t seem safe or sanitary at all. I hadn t mentioned the hair as I noticed it as I already finished most of my meal, but my friend had mentioned it and did not receive any form of compensation for it.
This is our Breakfast and Lunch go-to retaurant during the Stratford Festival season. Great food and value for money. Our regular hotel started stiffing us for their continental breakfast sooo you win Joe! :)

Of all the places I have gone for breakfast Joes Diner is the absolute worst for eggs sunny side up. In both Stratford and St Marys you either get a broken egg yoke, or one that is hard. How can everyone else do it right but Joes cannot.

What a diner should be
Joes is our friday night ritual. The staff are absolutely amazing, the atmosphere is relaxed, and staff always having a great time with their regulars. If the food wasnt dynamite we wouldnt be weekly diners. Keep up it up guys and gals!!!!!!
Our waitress appeared to be a recent hire and wax unsure of the menu. My wife and I asked for hot beef and hot turkey sandwich. She came back and told us they could not serve that as they did not have potatoes! We ordered something else. We waited after the main course and were going to order dessert, but the server never came back. We would also have liked another coffee fill-up. It does have good value, and I do recommend Joes Diner.

We enjoyed the food experience, but most of all, we enjoyed seeing a bulletin board where you could pay and donate a soup & sandwich to any person who walks in and cant afford a meal, gets the free service. I was told by the cashier that they had started this donation board a week ago, and, on average, 3 people had shown up each day for a free donated soup & sandwiche. Joes customers may donate the cost of different meals. Coupons are given to needy and hungry Stratfordians to exchange for that meal. Over 100 paid up coupons were displayed on one wall available for needy walk-in customers. I asked and was advised there are an additional 150 prepaid meal coupons in Joes office. What an amazing demonstration of simple, community supported compassion. Way to go Stratford!
Great place to stop for a quick bite
I just had a Clubhouse sandwich to go. The service was excellent and my sandwich arrived very quickly. The restaurant was busy, but they approached me and allowed me to skip the line and order because l was taking out. The Clubhouse sandwich itself was excellent. I would definitely return, and recommend this restaurant.
The staff are awesome, food is good and plenty for the price. Just remind them when ordering breakfast that you want jam and or peanut butter as the staff here dont hover over your table, they let you eat in peace so if you need something, you have to get their attention. I try to eat here at least once a month.
We went for breakfast and it was our first time there. French toast had a side not fried so was undercooked, no taste to the scrambled eggs or home fries. The rye bread had a ton of butter but was tasty. Room temp chocolate milk and only my husband got ice in his water. Now normally this would steer me away from a place BUT we are interested in trying their lunch/dinner options. Plus it s unfair to base an entire experience on breakfast. Besides the food though the staff was super friendly and you could tell they make connections with their customers. Fingers crossed for the next visit.

Didnt really know where to go. Because we were visitors. We did wait in line for a little while. But it was worth it. Great food for a great price. My meal was delicious and above my expectations. I would definitely eat here again, if I ever visit again. Make sure to have a butter tart too.
Amazing place. We ate breakfast here two mornings in a row when visiting Stratford. Great food - good portions and very tasty. Also very reasonable! But, as good as the food was, the family atmosphere is really what makes this place. All the servers were so friendly. A Dad and his daughter came in - the servers greeted them, Dad said it was her 4th birthday - before long she had pancakes with birthday candles in them and everyone clapped for her. Thats the vibe of this place. If in Stratford, do yourself a favour and go here.
