We had dinner here during our short stay in Stratford. My partner and I really enjoyed the smash burger, fish and chips, and soups. It was our anniversary so they brought out a Pavlova as a complimentary dessert! It was delicious. We'd definitely come here again.
The atmosphere was spectacular and the service was good, but for a place that looks upscale, the food was rather bland and plain. Go for the atmosphere and bring good company, but don't look for excellent culinary vision.
Expensive but fantastic food. The waitresses and staff were so helpful and attentive. Food came within 10 mins of ordering even when the restaurant was packed. We had both dinner and breakfast. French toast was a highlight. Everything tastes fresh and local. Reservations are highly recommended as it gets very busy after 5pm.
Visit Sunday September 15, 2024 private event held in the Chuchill conference / dining room. Mobility impaired accessible, ample parking. Accessible rest rooms on main floor and basement via elevator. Lovely building and well appointed common spaces. Wonderful decor and furnishings in the restaurant and lobby. Food served was most excellent. Grilled salmon, Florentine style steak, mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables and deserts were delightful. Staff were professional, friendly and engaging. Prices quite reasonable given the great quality. Would highly recommend.
I took my elderly father to this restaurant following a show at the Stratford Festival. It was easy for him to get into the restaurant and restrooms are on the main floor. The atmosphere feels comfortable and welcoming. We shared a mushroom crostini (very good) and he had the French Onion soup that was hearty and enough for him. The third person with us had the prime rib and said it was very good. I had the 8 oz flat iron steak. It was cooked to my liking and very flavourful. Dessert was the biggest pavlova on the planet and flourless chocolate cake. Both were excellent. The service was attentive. We kept our drinks to water only. Highly recommend.
The dining experience at Parlour Inn Restaurant was fantastic. I enjoyed the aesthetic with its wood frames and stained glass, creating a charming ambiance. The meals were delicious, and the service was excellent. It was our first visit, and we're looking forward to returning soon!
Had a lovely experience on this delightful patio, sipping on a cosmo and devouring a smash burger with bacon. My partner went for the haddock and was pleasantly surprised by how tender the fish was- it was falling off the fork! We were a little apprehensive because of the limited menu, but the food was worth it! Normally smaller menu restaurants compensate with flavor and The Parlour was no exception. The service was very quick, efficient and friendly. We hope to return!
Breakfast on a Saturday mid morning. Service was as to be expected. Breakfast was wonderful. Personal preference would be that pancakes would come with a side of syrup instead of already being doused. Only to give patrons the option on how sweet they enjoy their pancakes. Breakfast sandwich patties were a touch under seasoned for my liking but overall the breakfast sandwich was fantastic. The only legitimate complaint that could really be helped was that the fresh fruit cups that came were warm through and through. Warm fruit is a bit of a turn off. Atomosphere. I've always loved the old time wood and glass aesthetic. The room throws off a very much crooner lounge vibe. Throw in some oldies from the 50s and 60s while you dine and it's exactly how I would love to experience a time out. This place has never shown up on my radar for some God forsaken reason. I speak for only myself when I say this is exactly what I look for in a gastro experience even if it was just breakfast. Class for the common folk is what you could say. Wear your finest shorts but enjoy your "mahogany and leather" surroundings. Otherwise, can't wait to come back and try the breakfast again and lunch or dinner. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
The atmosphere here is great with a strong turn of the last century elegant. The fish and chips were decent. The pavlova was to die for. I understand it is their signature dish and is an amazing way to end a meal.
Nice restaurant. They were able to accept a party of 6 on short notice which was great. The service was a little slow because they were packed, but the food was good. I had the haddock and chips. The fish batter was a little heavy but nicely cooked. The chips were good. Others had tagliatelle which I heard was very good.
Good service, good food, and good atmosphere, with local beers on tap.
Sunday lunch was superb, mainly due to Winter, our server! Winter gave us lots of attention, was proactive, knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. She also booked a taxi to take us (on-time) to the Festival Theatre. In my excitement, I forgot my keys on the table and Winter ran out to give them to me as I was leaving in the taxi! The haddock and chips were delicious. A perfect before-theatre lunch!
Worst Fish & Chips Ive ever had!
The restaurant (and rooms) exceeded my expectations. Both have a old world charm. Youve got to try the fried wontons! The service was polished as well as the silverware!
The parlour was everything I expected and more. Very quaint . The ambience was very pleasant and soothing . Very calm and quiet. The food was luscious and delightful. The staff were polite and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend and I will be returning in the future.
Excellent meal
I go here for the smash burger in particular. Its one of my favorites anywhere!
The prime rib was terrific.
Beautiful Hotel and Restaurant, excellent friendly staff & delicious food!
The food at the Parlour Inn Restaurant was quite good, but the experience was marred by an abundance of flies in the dining area. I found myself constantly waving my hands around to shoo the flies away from my meal. This detracted from being able to fully enjoy the tasty food they served. While the kitchen and food quality seemed fine, the fly issue was quite distracting and made me feel uneasy about the cleanliness of the restaurant. A bit more attention to pest control would go a long way in improving the overall dining experience here.
The place is cute and the service is great but some of the food is extremely overpriced for what you get. We ordered a large Caesar salad with chicken. It was a very ordinary salad. Just romaine with store bought croutons and a few Parmesan shavings and cubes of chicken. The dressing was very skimpy. The salad itself was $31 and the chicken was an extra $12. So an ordinary Caesar salad comes out to $43!!! That was much more than the pasta I had or the burger and side salad my husband had. They were both under $30. A ridiculous price and I felt very ripped off. So the salad and a pasta bowl and a burger was $100 before tip. No appetizers, no alcohol and no dessert. We could have gotten far more for that $100 elsewhere. But it was the ridiculous salad that really made me realize we will not be back.
Stayed at the adjoining hotel twice. The food is wonderful, clearly prepared by a chef who knew what he was doing. You can always tell with a runny poached egg. Be warned though, this is fine dining and you will be paying fine dining prices.
On October 18th 2023 my wife and I planned to try the Parlour Inn Restaurant for our anniversary dinner. As the saying goes better late than never to post a review. Our server Ashley was amazing. The overall dining at this restaurant was a delight from start to finish. The delicious food, impeccable service she provided, and the charming ambiance made for a memorable experience. Our first-time experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. Dave M
First timers, but Lesley made us feel like friends! I had the prime rib and my husband had the flat iron steak. Both meals were fabulous. The portions were more than enough. The dessert...to die for. My hubby and I both had the Budino. We will return!
Rockn Rev. Rhonda and Dr. TJ love The Parlour. It is one of our fave taste experiences, as one of our Cheers settings; everybody knows our name.
Always consistent and good
Fantastic service for father s birthday. Service was impeccable and food was delicious. There were 10 of us - food delivery was quick; all served relatively at the same time; food was hot and plentiful. Various items off the menu including the special prime rib. Well done staff at The Parlour Inn
Keto friendly Stratford! A double smash burger with cheddar and thick bacon? Count me in! Great bar menu at honest prices. Enjoying a split of Veuve Cliquot with lunch? A nice Ontario VQA pinot noir or meritage? Oh, yes. Plenty of choices to make your morning, afternoon or evening bright!! Dietary restrictions: Keto friendly Paleo friendly Low carb friendly
Had a 6 pm reservation and didnt get served until 7.20 on Christmas Day. Party of 9 but many orders were the specials. Food was good but way too much for majority of diners. When bill came, we were charged $21 too much for my rigatoni. Waitress corrected bill but shouldnt have happened. Wont be going back soon.
Expensive, but impeccable decor and vibe and quality food!
Good food, poor wait staff!! Very disappointed, waited over an hour after ordering and staff very rude.
Food and service was great. Maybe a little pricey. 2 one-pc fish and chips with 2 alcohol drinks and the bill was $100. Cant afford to do that very often.
Incredible food. Definitely try a smash burger and pavlova if you are on the fence about what to eat, these are consistently brilliant! Chef specials are also very worthwhile and change seasonally (autumn menus I feel are best). I have been on multiple occasions, most recently for my birthday. Service is friendly, my husband and I are from Kitchener and enjoy our time out here, but we have had to wait if our visit overlaps with the timing of a show with the Festival and we havent made reservations. Parking: Good location for nearby public parking.
Just great all through the time at the Restaurant
Absolutely loved everything
Amazing food!
It s a beautiful place with friendly people snd environment . The food is great
I have been to this restaurant many times when visiting Stratford. Lunch and dinner have always been excellent (5 stars). First (and last) time to visit for breakfast. I understand set menus - I wanted an omelet and the two options they had were not of my liking. I asked if it was possible to get a western (you know, eggs, ham, peppers, onion, cheese - basically what restaurants would have in stock). My request was denied, without any reason. Okay, Ill have basic bacon and eggs, white toast ... no, we only have rye and whole wheat Meal was ordered as to best please my palette ... tasted fine - but with such limited options, I can easily find different locations with a lower price and better selection. Service was fine, restaurant interior is very nice - just not a place I would recommend for breakfast.
Great staff, atmosphere and food. I will be back!
This is a clean and beautiful restaurant with romantic dim lighting and a fresh rose at every table There is lots of room and it is a great place for a quiet, relaxing meal. The music was soft and not overwhelming which made it a very peaceful atmosphere. For our appetizers we ordered the confit mushrooms, ricotta gnudi, and french onion soup. All were delicious it was a great variety actually For our mains we got the truffle gouda tagliatelle and classic smash burger with sweet potato fries. My fiance said this was the best burger he has ever had. I loved the pasta dish - it was so flavourful with a creamy sauce, beautifully sauteed mushrooms and tomatoes, and plump juicy chicken breast. Fries were thick and were served with a yummy garlic aioli dip :) Our server made me a great non alcoholic Shirley Temple and my fiance really enjoyed the local Black Swan EPA. Service was excellent. Our server was really nice and promptly seated us. She was patient with us even though we were really slow to order Food arrived quickly as well. Portions were good we were so full after Thank you to all the staff for a great meal and experience. If you are in Stratford you MUST stop by :))
Pay a visit! This place is a little pricey, but thats because one is paying for GREAT food with fair portions, friendly professional service, and a quiet relaxing atomosphere. There is nothing but positive things to say about this pub.
Attentive and helpful and friendly staff. As usual, amazing food! It was my fathers birthday and they were amazing. They also carry a few good scotches which was nice.
Great restaurant in English pub style. A bit pricy but the food and service were awesome.
I enjoy the breakfast, not crazyamount but very tasty. Perfect size. Its quiet and you can have a conversation easily. The patio lovely. The smashburgers are great.
Unfortunately, not a good experience. At 5:30 on Sunday afternoon it took a full hour to receive our food. The wait was not a big deal, as we were enjoying our conversation, even though there were only about 6 tables occupied in the whole restaurant. Four of us were dining, and two ordered the prime rib special (medium rare), the others ordered a traditional steak (rare) and burger. When the food arrived, it seemed less than fresh, and the prime rib came well done (it was grey!). The steak was no where near rare, however I said nothing. We did request to return the prime rib. Our server, very nicely, shared with us it was the last two orders (ends of the roast) as an explanation of why it was way overcooked. Apologetically, she offered to bring steak instead. The other two guests had completely finished dining before the new steaks arrived, covered in gravy! (Pretending it was prime rib I guess?) For me, its all about the recovery, however the server only reduced the two terrible orders by 25%. No offer of a complimentary dessert or cocktail? All in all, terrible experience and poor food, leaving me with $270 less in my pocket.
Loved the smash burger and sweet potato fries. The service was really good and the atmosphere was nice. It has an old feel like its supposed to. My only complaint would be the price of some things was too much. A starter salad was as much as lunch, actually more. Ceasar Salad with chicken was $26. The smash burger was $21. Vegetarian options: The baked cauliflower sounded good with rice. Parking: Right beside the restaurant and there was plenty of spaces.
Friendly staff and the best Pavlova you can get..
Fantastic place to go out and have a great meal with a nice atmosphere.
Great! We absolutely love the Parlour and try to come every time were in Stratford. The food and drinks are good and the service is always friendly. The perfect place to stop for brunch or lunch!
The restaurant at The Parlour Inn offers a lot of menu choices for breakfast, from traditional bacon and eggs to waffles or French toast with macerated berries to several different versions of eggs benedict. I ordered a coffee and the omelette with mushroom, goat feta, fine herbs and gremolata. It was accompanied by some fresh fruit and home fries. I m not sure where the gremolata was hidden, but the omelette tasted nice. I was a little disappointed that they did not have any non-dairy options for my coffee (I have to avoid cow milk). Service was friendly and efficient, and I was offered top ups on my coffee a couple of times. I liked the added touch of a small vase with a flower on the table. There s a lot of charm to this restaurant that has a turn of the century kind of vibe. Large parking lot on site.
Used open table to book this restaurant and they were ready to receive our table of 4. The flies on the patio were uncontrolled and no mitigation in place. Order flat iron steaks and the meat was unevenly cooked from (well done to very rare). The curry dish was made with frozen vegetables and some were still cold. The tables and floor were clean. The service was friendly but the staff were poorly organized around the indoor and outdoor seating so they were stretched and slow. Dessert and coffee were ok. I cant recommend this restaura t when compared to several other restaurants we have tried in Stratford during our day trips.
Disappointed and disappointing. On colleagues recommendation, we made reservations and drove 90 mins only to be told they had a new brunch menu that day; this was not on their website, whether before or even day of. While my wifes peameal bacon sandwich was flavourful, my brunch entree was an overpriced sausage egg mcmuffin. I asked for a side potato and bacon soup, was brought french fries and when I noted that I was told it was because the soup was curried vegetable... Having said that, the inn has an elegant, old-world design.
We made a reservation on Open Table as we were going to the Stratford Festival. We had been before and the food and service was excellent, however, this time we left with such disappointment. We arrived by 6, show was at 8. Took a while for our server to come to our table and when she did we advised we were going to a show. We ordered a bottle of wine for dinner Cesar salads, 10oz steak dinner and rigatoni. Our wine and salad came within a half hour of sitting down, salad had way too much dressing, odd bacon/pancetta, not great. We then waited for our dinner to arrive until 730, husbands steak dinner was mediocre, my rigatoni was gross. Was suppose to have a bolognese sauce on it but came with some liquidy stewed beef in stewed tomatoes with carrots. There was barely any sauce to begin with and it didn t even coat the noodles, was extremely dry, very far from a bolognese. And no parm was offered. The garlic toast was also charred and not great. The server never came to check on us and no compensation was given. We ate what we could in 10 min as we had to get to our show. Total waste of money.
This has become our go to place for special occasions . For openers we shared their mushroom crostini - uniquely delightful. I had the fish n chips. It was excellent!! My wife had the cauliflower curry dish. She enjoyed it. We also shared the pavlova desert - light and delicious.
Awesome place
The service was very good. Our waiter was friendly and charming. We didnt have to wait too long for drinks or food although there werent many people there yet. Unfortunately thats where it ended. The food was mediocre, ok at best but ridiculously expensive. $32 for overcooked fried chicken with some spicey dipping sauce that just tasted like Franks or Siracha. The prime rib special was $50 dollars. Every bit of our meals and drinks were overpriced.
Very crowed service as quick as they could be
Celebrated my birthday here and everything and everyone was fantastic. Had the Mushroom Crostini the the Salmon both amazing! My cocktail was a Lavender French 75 followed by Pavlova for dessert again wonderful. A shout out to servers Diane, Kathie and James and of course to the Chef. First time here and wont be the last. Thank you. Parking: If parking is full there is free parking available at the Cooper lot adjacent.
Excellent food and service!
A Stratford landmark, it had been over a decade since I last dined at The Parlour. It had been too long as it s a solid choice when visiting the city: they were prepared for the theatre crowd and the timing of service was excellent. Traditional interior, standard service. Our party all had the 10oz steak and we were satisfied with the portion size and prepared perfect medium rare. Playing was simple, nothing fancy. The Pavlova is the signature dessert and was just as excellent as I remembered. And there was a level 2 charger (2 actually) as well. Bonus!
Always good food though the Pavlova is the main focus for me.
Great food, awesome service!!
The food was one of the worst experiences I ve had in an upscale restaurant. Burnt chicken, overcooked salmon and abysmal sides. They did not respond when I contacted them directly. The service started out fine but after serving the obviously bad food the waitress was uncomfortable.
Nice place. Ashley is a wonderful server!
One of the best dining experiences we ve had in some time. The food and service were outstanding. The value was excellent. Truly one of the best smash burgers I ve ever had, and I love a smash burger. My husband s steak was cooked to perfection. One thing I really appreciated was the ambience. This restaurant has struck a lovely balance of cushioned seating and beautiful accents that make for a quiet, comfortable dining experience which we appreciate more and more as the concrete / steel / quick turnover vibe kind of takes over the restaurant scene. (Don t get me wrong, nothing wrong with the industrial-style restaurant trend, but we really appreciate the comfortable, quiet, relaxed vibe as well.) We will certainly be returning next time we re in Stratford.
Honestly, thanks Carol for an amazing experience. Everything was perfect. Maybe the best french fries ever.
Gets better and better each time we go there.
Manager Stephen provided us with excellent service after I commented about a prior meal. Everything was delicious, and we will be back!!
Dropped in to visit old friends. Staff are friendly and accommodating...no issues with us visiting for 2+ hours while having lunch. Fish and chips are the best in town. Beautiful old building, full of wood. Tables are not crowded. Highly recommended. Parking: Single EV charger in lot.
An awesome restaurant with delicious food. The Salmon entre over gnocchi was so tasty. Tamara was a delightful server who was very professional and friendly. There was a power outage in town before our entrée arrived but she helped make it a fun experience with candles. Highly recommended you try it
We came in starving and my goodness did they ever deliver . Their burgers were made in house and AMAZING. Im talking juicy, flavourful and just over all mouth watering . 10/10 would recommend. The service was fantastic, very friendly. Lovely place for a Date night. And ouuulala the DESSERT.... I will share a picture as it speaks for itself . Definitely eat here if you just need some edible happiness Im your life.
Try the Pavlova!! We drive from London to just eat this. 900 orders of Pavlova per month... Do I need to say anymore Last two times disappointed me, so I have changed my 5 stars to 1. The cook has changed and the Pavlova looks like it but does not taste like it. Guess Covid got to this kitchen staff.
Parlour burgers must be from a different planet. There is absolutely no comparison with any other burger place. They should open a standalone burger place. Then they give you amazing soup to go with it.
It is a beautiful Dining Restaurant, a good variety. We had Prime rib, my hubbys was very good, mine was a end cut? And very very Salty, my hubby tried it, and said dont eat it. I guess a mistake in the kitchen. Oh well. Otherwise I would still give it a 5 star.
I had just recovered after being in the ICU/ being on oxygen for 4 months from covid. I had been off work for several months. It was my fiancé and I s anniversary. She wanted to take me out for a nice dinner. I cannot recall the servers name. She was in her 50 s. She did a great job until it came time for the bill. My fiancé asked the server for the bill 3 times. Each time she was ignored. Finally I asked. The server came back handed me the bill, then left to get the machine(my fiancé was sitting there with her debit card in her hand for the past 10 min and each time she had asked for the bill). When the server returned, she handed me the machine. So I handed it to my Fiancé. The server laughed and said oh shes paying? , ohhh hmmm, I guess.. thats okay.. (gave me a dirty look) then hmmm well hahah I guess thats okay (gave me another dirty look) well hmmm I guess so... My fiancé got uncomfortable and tried to defend me saying that he pays for things all the time then the server said ohhh mhhmm hmm then gave me another dirty look. First of all its not the 1970 s, its 2022 and if a women wants to take there man out to a nice dinner, they should be able to without any smirky judgment. Second if you work in the service industry and you want to make tips, keep you re verbal diarrhea under control. Its too bad because I thought the food was good, minus the burger being cold.
Took our mom here for mothers day and we will definitely be returning!. Food service and atmosphere was amazing!
We had a patio lunch on a beautiful May day. Several appetizers and their best grilled cheese sandwich. The patio is a great location, well shaded. We enjoyed our lunch (the arancini in particular) and were really impressed by the selection of craft beers. Staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful -- just right.
Great food and service
Great place for a nice dinner , love the ambience and food was excellent ordered fish and chips , burger salmon and grilled chicken everything was super tasty and portion size was good as well , loved the pavlova dessert , will visit again for sure
The atmosphere was warm, cozy and relaxing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our meals were cooked perfectly and incredibly delicious. Well be back. Parking: Free parking.
The food was good but the service was terrible. When we arrived at 5:30 We we re all going to have the Prime rib dinner. We were told only 3 of the prime rib dinners were available. My husband then ordered the fish and chips dinner but was disappointed. Our table server was unwilling to make substitutes for a $60 per plate dinners. Another upcharge for shrimp. Total bill for 4 people was $273. Over the top. We found our server not very friendly When we were paying the bill, our waitress stood over us and told us that the tip was a 20% minimum. This will be our last time at this the Old English Parlour.
My family had an excellent tasting lunch. Together we had the smash burgers and the chicken and Brie lunch which was a large boneless chicken breast. We also had the dessert it is known for -Pavlova- which was gone within minutes as it was light and airy and delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable and great with checking in on us. It did not take that long to have lunch served from when we ordered it. We will definitely be back.
The dining ambience is always good. My meal though the last visit was awful-a greyish piece of salmon smothered in a mustard sauce. I had this dish a month ago and it was excellent. I would say then at this restaurant a hit or miss experience.
My brother and I stopped for lunch in Stratford and found this place a couple of blocks from the parking lot. There were a couple of vegetarian options. I had the falafel wrap with fries. Very good.
Food, service and prices all were great! Well be back!
Really solid dinner experience. Well executed appetizers and entrees, fabulous service from Ashley. Current menu is more complicated than necessary (chef is simply trying too hard), but well done. I will return.
Great shuttle service, thanks Kimberley!
we ordered the appetizer caesar & the pork bellies never have i spent so much for so little ! the salad was tiny , very heavy on the anchovie, the chicken breast was quite dry , & tough & the pork belly was some kind of deep fried patty ( just on the edge of being burnt), 3 very small pattys we waited about 40 minutes before the salad came there were 2 of us , & we were splitting the 2 dishes , we were not well fed almost everything there was deep fried the highlight was the fancy desert , some kind of a Meringue thing & it was quite good , apparently they are famous for it Its a very nice atmosphere , but at the prices they charged , I would expect a much better product I would give the main meal 1 star , & the desert maybe 4 stars
Such a delightful breakfast. We will definitely stop again when we are next in town.
Great meal here. The croquettes were amazing, the steak perfectly cooked. The restaurant is traditional in decor which suits the Town perfectly. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.
There were 3 of us and we ordered a small $21 burger with soggy fries. $15 for a tiny caesar salad and a $20 fish and chips with soggy fries. With four beer the bill came to over $130! Over priced food with slow service. Also, Reservations were made for 2:00 but when we arrived we were told 2:45. Needless to say we will not be back.
Came in for drinks. Served well. We were a bit loud, may have upset a few peeps. Sorry
It was date night and my dinner was so disappointing. I started with the butterflied shrimp, which were delicious, but it was downhill from there. My main was the duck. It was tough and overcooked. The accompanying potatoes were boring. The biggest disappointment was the creme brulee. I love this dessert and have had too many to count. This one looked like cheese curds. It was runny and lumpy. It didnt resemble a good creme brulee at all. To be fair, my husband has the prime rib, which he loved. His dessert however, was a variation of tiramisu. The lady fingers were dry and difficult to eat. Not sure whats happened there, but its doubtful we will ever go back. There are so many wonderful restaurants in Stratford, tonight this wasnt one of them. Parking: Good sized parking lot.
Asked for veal with no salt. Unfortunately meal had chunks of salt all over it. Waited one hour for next meal.
Great restaurant! Our server, Tamara was very personable and professional. The food was delicious, all around great experience!
What a meal! My wife and I sat on the patio on a Saturday night, great service and food. My wife had the pulled pork potato skins and I had the burger with the tomato bisque. Both meals where great, after one bite of the tomato soup I was taken back to my childhood, where my parents would scream at eachother across the dinner table while I enjoyed my soup. My parents are divorced now. 10/10 would recommend!
Absolutely fantastic - dined on the patio - smash steak burger with pulled pork (massive burger) and salmon with gnocchi were both amazing. Very good food at reasonable prices. Service was excellent too - our server Rachel was wonderful.
Dinner was great, breakfast... just okay (terrible coffee). The service at the restaurant was very good and nice cocktails.
Delicious lunch on the patio! Excellent, friendly staff.
Great food and service.
ordered the buttermilk waffle and chicken. It was dry and not good. Please remove that from the menu. I would not have left review if i had not gotten sick after. service was the only reason we did not ask for a refund then and there. paid in full with tip for the staff.
We really like the Inn super nice people. Great food. Awesome dessert. Little pricey, but worth every penny. Update Aug 17, 2021 - tonight - lovely dinner. Rachel took very good care of us. Food was super! Update Oct 11 - Thanksgiving dinner. 5 star service by Tamara - great night out.
Fine dining at reasonable pricing, generous serving sizes, staff was very friendly and helpful
Great place went for lunch and had chicken and brie sandwich with homemade french fries delicious. We had pavlova which was to die for
Great place for nice and quiet dinner
Friendly staff and great food
Cozy and classy. Always great food and famous for their pavlova dessert! Tends towards the pricier side but well worth it.
My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Parlour Inn and purchased the culinary connessieur package which included a 3 course dinner at the Parlour Steakhouse. The food was delicious, filling and was well presented. Our server, Tamara, did a great job ensuring that we were informed and well taken care of. I have already recommended this restaurant to friends and family.
The food, drinks menu, atmosphere and staff have all been excellent each time weve stopped in, whether just for a drink, little lunch or dinner.
Great food and service
Amazing food, atmosphere, and staff
My daughter and I had lunch on the patio yesterday - the first time in months that we were able to dine out! In spite of the extremely hot weather and the servers wearing masks, they were friendly and gracious. The food was delicious and yes we shared a pavlova - melt in the mouth dessert! Thank you to all for making this such a comfortable, safe and happy dining experience.
Great
We had an awesome experience on the patio tonight for dinner. Tamara (waitress) made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We had the fish and chips for dinner that was fabulous. Thank you so much Kyle (chief ) again we will definitely be back.
Food emphasizes quantity and quality. An enjoyable evening on the patio.
Good experience
Normally I would never go to the parlour because its a bit too pricey. But due to the pandemic they have been having lots of deals. Glad to have gotten to try it because their food is spectacular and they officially have the best fries Ive ever had.
First time I had tried lentil pasta which was very good & just the right size serving for dessert we shared the pavlova indulgent & delicious.
Came with a group of friends and was very disappointed with the complete lack of vegan options. Maybe a Beyond burger on your menu??
Patio was lovely. Always a great Prime Rib.
Food is delicious here but the wings will be dry and overcooked guaranteed every time. Once I politely asked our server to make sure the wings are juicy and not overcooked. When my super overcooked, crispy wings arrived I quietly ate them without complaint. I was finishing my last petrified wing when my server enquired and how were the wings?. I replied that they were actually quite dry, to which she said with a disgusted look on here face well, you know, you could have said something. I shook my head and smiled thinking about how I did say that I didnt want dry wings when I ordered them and wondered what else there was to be said. Have dinner here and you will likely be served a very well excecuted meal by a hack who doesnt seem to care.
My family and I came to dinner at this restaurant for a special occasion, the place is beautiful, charming, the food delicious and the service very friendly and courteous.
Warm quaint environment
Great old parlour atmosphere, dark wood, low lighting. Food is good, was disappointed to see the prime rib wasnt on the menu, steak and frites, was tender, but smothered in gravy which I wasnt expecting as the menu didnt say that.
Great place to go eat. Been here many times. The styling is unique and resembles a train station
Classic building, great food!
The salmon tasted burt. Probably need to clean grill more often and they needed to clean the fryer grease
Great food and atmosphere
Steak is done nicely, Chili is tasty and the whipped butter is so good with a touch of honey. Just wish the steak is a thicker cut. This steak is big but quite thin no good for grilled steak.
Nice restaurant. Food is ok. Patio is its best asset.
Fabulous lunch but no one there but us. Made us wonder ???
Very nice place, kind and efficient service. Will definitely come back
Fantastic fresh food served in a friendly welcoming environment. The serving of prime rib my wife received was perfectly cooked and large enough to fill both of us. The in house dessert was very tasty and will definitely return next time were through Stratford.
Great service and food...
A little off the beaten track. Like all Vintage brand hotels you wont be sorry you went there. Top quality food with friendly and efficient service.
We went there on a Monday night, there were 10 of us celebrating a 50th birthday. The staff were so attentive, fun and the food was absolutely fabulous! My Dad had the tiramisu and thought he has never had such great dessert. I had the pavlova which is their signature dessert and fell in love...amazing food, amazing dining experience
Had dinner there last night with my family and have a coupe of suggestions. Staff need to be better trained in customer service and in food prep. When we arrived we were told to tell the server that we had a show that night. We did, and the response was I m pretty sure everyone here is going to a show... . We ordered two meat dishes, one was a steak to be prepare medium rare and other the venison at medium. They both came well done. The Venisson was actually very good but the steak was too well cooked. It took us for ever to catch the attention of a server and when we finally did, we were well into the meal and told them just so they know. Our reservation was at 6pm, and at 7:25 we paid (nothing was done to acknowledge the overcooked food). My spouse went to the washroom before we left and the manager came to talk to us. I thought he as going to apologize for the meals, instead he asked if we were leaving because he had customers waiting for the table. So, the place has promise, but the kitchen has to know what medium rare means and customers should be respected. We come to Stratford every year but next time we ll try another place.
Excellant food
Delicious food, friendly staff, and easy, unrushed ambience allows for cozy conversation.
Food was excellent. Servers were friendly and polite.
Amazing food and such great decor!
Lovely air conditioned room with predictable meals and slow service.
Very expensive,slow service..food was mediocre!
Strange decor and amazing food.
The food was great, my bloody caesar......not so much lol
First time here and possibly the last. When it takes 25 minutes to get a beverage, when asking more than once, not a great experience. As with most guest, we had tickets and allowed ourselves over 2 hours to eat and get there. Took well over 1.5 hours to eat. App and main was delicious and the only reason I give 2 stars. Service was attrocious and when mentioned to management, did not seem to matter. Pushing off the issue off to kitchen issues is bunk. A few guest seated after us were fed and gone before we got our meals.
I d be giving 5 stars, except... First off the food is great and steaks excellent. Atmosphere is wonderful. My wife s salmon was done to perfection. But our server wasn t nice to us after receiving her tip. That wasn t professional or appropriate. I am certain the owner/manager wouldn t condone such unprofessional conduct. Don t pass up on eating here, but beware the server might have a poor attitude if you don t tip high. If the manager/owner contacts me, I ll give the server s name. Google reviews are important to businesses. Having an unprofessional staff causes me to consider somewhere else for dinner tomorrow.
Cozy, relaxed, close to theaters
Meat overcooked, overpriced everything.
Good Prime rib and steak. Rachel served us with excellence.
The service was great and the food was delicious! The prices were higher than where we usually would dine, but the quality of food and service made it worth the extra expense. Great place for a nice dinner!
Never miss when in town. Skyhigh Pavlova
Whatever you do, get the Pavlova!
Nice and clean updated rooms Great food for supper Good drinks
My steak was undercooked and potato not hot, but all was tasty.
Dont order the Pork Tenderloins unless you have the appetite of 10 year old girl. We went to the Parlour Steakhouse with 3 other couples before seeing a show at the Avalon Theater. Nice atmosphere and pleasant staff. I ordered the Pork Tenderloin figuring that it would be of similar size to the 8 oz steak since it was priced the same at $26. Was I ever wrong. There wasnt 3 ounces of meat in the entire dish. Two small pieces of dry pork total that didnt add up to even 4 small bites served with crushed tomatoes and Kale that where bland at best. The worst part was the jokes from the other couples at the table offering to take up a collection from their plates to add to mine as it was so obviously lacking, Had to stop at a take out on the way out of town to fill up enough to make the trip home.
Excellent food, service and the price is right. Great steak and dessert menu
Excellent hamburger and really great wonton nachos. Staff was good.
Incredible dinner at The Parlour Steakhouse tonight with family and family visiting from Holland. They gave us beautiful private room where we could talk and visit. The food was amazing and our waitress even more so , friendly, warm, and efficient. Wonderful meal here! Thankyou!!
Had our Lunch there when arrived to Stratford. Great service and great food.
We had a phenomenal dinner at The Parlour Inn, I highly recommend it. I really shouldve taken some pictures of the food but I was too excited to eat it. 3 course dinner, caesar salad (all made in house), my wife had the steak with veggies and mashed potatoes, I had the prime rib, which was HUGE, with a loaded baked potato and veggies. To finish it all off we had their pavlova, which is a big soft and light cloud of meringue with a lemon custard, and raspberry puree. The price was very reasonable for what we got. To make our night even better Leslie (our server) brought my wife a bunch of their exclusive roses and wished us a happy anniversary. I cant say enough good about our experience, our dinner at the Parlour Inn was the highlight of our weekend.
Was after the lunch crowd. Had a small child with us. Let us have a small room to our selves. Nice touch. Staff was very helpful with menu. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. Nice variety. Nice drink menu. Great atmosphere. Appreciate the service especially when having small child. Lots of parking available as well.
The food is excellent and the service was excellent best place to eat in Stratford!!!!
Nice place. Good food
It was so nice! A fantastic atmosphere in a historic building! Great steak!
Great food. Good service!
Amazing Pavlov. The wine had nice legs. The steak was pretty good and there was deep fried potatoes along with my steak, which would be even better if some acidity, maybe a bit of aged cheese and mushrooms it would be even better. The only thing I tried that wasnt very good was the smores lava cake. It had no marshmallows which is an unfortunate missed opportunity. would recommend the restaurant adding some marshmallows fluff/whip cream and then toasting it. But otherwise great atmosphere!
UPDATED: Friendly staff and nice setting. Management responsive and deemed genuine. ORIGINAL: To be honest, disappointing and basic Caesars ($10+ each). $20 prime rib sandwich not worth the extra $5. Stick w the $15 or less porchetta sandwich...better taste and value. $75 lunch meal for two. Space was big, washrooms clean. It was our first stop for the weekend so would return but not high on our must try list. Wife said Caesar salad side was blah.
Great food at a great price. Will go back again.
