We were hungry and ordered the chicken souvlaki for takeout. It was just okay but the rice didn’t taste very good and the potatoes were poor quality. It was quite obvious they were DP’s local potatoes.
If you want to enjoy great food in a quiet (no blaring music or heavy base, where you have to listen to boom, boom, boom) then visit Herc's Greek Eatery. The service is excellent and the food is delicious.

Ordered from Skip The Dishes for pickup in store. Ordered the Fried Feta, two Chicken and Pork platter combos with side of fatoush salad. All I can say is I am thoroughly disappointed in the meal. The fried feta was not worth $18.99 I could maybe see 8.99 but for the portion you get it is not worth it. The main course was also very disappointing, the rice had no flavor, th chicken and pork were also bland and lacking flavor. The potatoes were just cut in half and not fully cooked. We had eaten here once before and enjoyed the meal but won't be eating here again and would not recommend.

Ordered from Skip The Dish and received a less than satisfactory meal. For starters, the menu on the app had zero information about ingredients in any of the food items. The restaurant expected customers to write in the special instructions what they would like for a side. As someone who has never eaten from this restaurant, it would have been extremely helpful. I understand not everyone is tech savvy, but, in 2023, this feels like a basic feature and an expectation (I know, first world problems). A gyro wrap with a side Caesar salad and a regular Greek salad was a $38 meal. For this we received our two salad that were fine…, but the gyro wrap; yikes! The wrap combo was $21 before taxes and all I got was a soggy cold thick wrap with 5 cubed pieces of gyro and a ton of dressing. This meal could have been made with $10 worth of groceries from Food Basics. I would at least expect to get a full sized wrap if my combo is going to be $21. Safe to say we will not be ordering from Herc’s again. And if we try going to the restaurant in the future, we’ll have to check portion sizes. Suffice it to say, completely disappointed.
This place has been around forever for a good reason. Very comfy and clean atmosphere with delicious Greek food. The lemon potatoes are insanely good!
The food here is unbeatable, truly one of my favourite ever restaurants. From the potatoes to the rice to the salad everything is seasoned perfectly and the chicken shawarma pita wraps are incredible. 11/10 would recommend to anyone in Sudbury. No other Greek place I’ve tried even comes remotely close.

Ordered two dinners and received undercooked food I called the restaurant and was put on hold for 6min 39 sec when I was greeted by the cook who insisted that his potatoes are perfect. I offered to bring them back and he said it wasnt necessary. Ive been a regular customer for about ten years now but the past 6 months the quality of food had declined to the point that I needed to complain. His solution that the next time they will give me an order of potatoes Thanks keep your potatoes and Ill keep my money.
Tried it again very very bland boring potatoes and rice used to be very good but its been s long while very disappointing again ...I dont think they czn cut the meat cubes any smaller...

Drove two hours to get here. I made the trip based on the excellent reviews. Wish I had of stayed home. It was the worst gyro I have ever eaten. I made it halfway through then tossed it in the garbage and dont even get me started on the disgusting fries. Extremely disappointed.
I got two gyros and fries and it was not good. Tzatziki sauce was disgusting. Was more like yogurt. Fries were the worst I have ever tasted. They were saturated with oil. Was disappointed. Reviews were all so good.

Amazing! Worked with Gus, Manoc and the Hercs Greek Eatery crew to order food for 18 at the end of March! Highly recommended if you are craving souvlaki, gyro or a Ceasar/Greek salad! Portions are generous and delicious! Prompt and super-friendly service! Cant wait to visit again! (Colette )
Was craving Greek and drove over an hour. Ordered two pork souvlaki pita wraps, one with a Greek fries. Cost was over $30. The price on their menu inside were not accurate and we were charged more and they had barely any pork in them. The fries were an additional $8 so we were expecting a good size to share, but were we wrong. They came in a small clear container, half was the fries the other half had one of the pitas. The fries came with feta and parsley and yet they were plain tasting, even the feta was dried out. Very disappointed and will not be going back!

Hadnt been there in years. Went and was mind blown at the prices. There are in the process of changing menu. There were 3 differnt prices, from menu board, paper menu and online. Plus quality of food was not as remembered :( very expensive for portion...

Great food, but the service was lacking. Was also overcharged for the meal based on their lunch special, and there was also a hidden fee on my bill. After several minutes, one of the other employees reversed the unusual charges and charged me the correct price. Come here for an amazing meal, but watch your bill closely.

Ordered gyros, was not pleased. They use those nasty frozen donair instead of using the vertical broiler you can SEE in the kitchen. Tsaziki was meh, runny and not flavourful. Rice and potatoes were dry and lacking in flavour. On the plus side, the staff were rather nice. But they -seriously- need to work on the quality of food items.
Went through the drive thru and ordered two chicken soulvaki dinners. Good price for lots of food, everything tasted great. Also tried out the fattoush salad, it was delicious and fresh. Good quality food, great portions. We were very happy with our meal. And the baklava cheesecake is amazing! Our server was great too
Good food, and service but a ridiculous $3 for more dressing for a salad that had barely any on it. Never had to pay so much to enjoy my food. Won t be back.

Had my first meal here and was so happy with everything. Our waitress was pleasant and helpful and the food was delicious! We had the chicken and pork souvlaki with a greek salad and everything was fresh and tasty. We didnt feel rushed at all and the atmosphere was welcoming. Everything looked clean, including the bathrooms. I have no complaints at all. We had baklava for dessert with Greek coffee. Excellent dining experience and I cant wait to come back here with others. I will definitely be recommending this place to my circles. See you next time, Hercs!

Too expensive 9 dollars for a piece of cake 9 dollars for a side of potatoes ...9 dollars for a chicken pita I can understand but a side and a desert should not be so high

The food prepared at this restaurant is always on point, meaning it has never disappointed me after multiple visits. My go-to is the family special; with 4 delicious gyros, amazing potatoes with a hint a lemon, and the flavoured rice. I opted for the baklava cheesecake, instead of the traditional Greek salad, because it s cheesecake! Try it next time you drive down Notre Dame in Sudbury.

This is the best place to eat in Sudbury for Greek food . beat appollo food hands down . Owner switch 5 years ago now run by gus and family. He run a clean place fantastic Greek menu. the platters come with full portions .and also Ont lamb . in fact they are so good we rented the place for pre wedding nite before and they cater a nice specail buffay meal for 50 people . And also Greek desserts for our wedding . Any one looking for a high class meal that dont gouge yoir pocket book should go eat here . You wont regret it

Not letting me finish and rushing me to the window multiple times when I am not done ordering... then tells me to wait when I went to ask a question. I just left, was not putting money into that place. Never returning.

Ordered a Souvlaki plate with rice potatoes and garlic bread. Chicken was burnt with awful taste as well as the rice. The entire plate was inedible. While describing the issues with the order, the manager constantly interuppted over the phone and told me it was impossible that my food sucked. Not sure who owns this place anymore but its gone downhill. Booooooooooooo

Although we are in lockdown due to COVID-19, you can be sure to to take out an excellent meal at Hercs. Maria and staff were so hospitable and welcoming.I definitely will order from there again.
Tried a few other places the chicken was cooked perfectly and well seasoned the salad stayed crisp on trip home the dressing was creamy not oily yahoo ..only thing that could have been better was the rice to mushy but tasty. Would definitely go back

Dry dry dry. Chicken was over cooked and had a burnt taste. Potatoes were also dry somehow. The rice was bland and they used what looks like frozen vegetables. Disappointed, especially since you re paying a premium for authentic Greek. The salad dressing was not the classing vinaigrette, more like a French dressing. Would not recommend or repurchase.
Very surprised, I wasn t expecting much; but I was very happy with the portions and the food was great! Love the potatoes, rice and salad with the Souvlaki skewers... (it s the sauce); yum!

Food is fresh, tasty, and served on real dishes at a price that is competitive with fast food alternatives. The perfect spot to take a date, or to enjoy a family night out.

2021: Very dissapointing to see that the chicken skewers were pre-cooked, and placed on a grill to char and finish off. We cook it when you order it. I would expect the food to be fresh, not reheated. The worst part was it was very dry and chewy. Completely over-cooked. The $6.99 for one skewer was overpriced. The skewer was tiny. Spanikopita was 2 tiny triangles for $12.00. Totally overpriced and will not be getting it again. As always the Greek dressing is delicious. Rice was meh. Lemon potatoes were ok. Will not be returning in the future. 2015: Tasty and reasonably priced Greek food. Eating in is somehow cheaper than taking out. Dont eat in for the atmosphere. Eat in for the food; service is quick. The greek salad dressing is also delicious.
The food is quite nice and even just going through the drive through, the staff is always so bubbly just brightening up your takeout experience.

Was ok for what it was. The food is bland and not very creative. For a Greek eatery it was kind of a let down and pricey for what you are being served. Portion size are larg but just made to look big by using extra cheep products like potatoes or lettuce when it comes to the items such as the protein like chicken on a salad I dont think I even got 4oz of chicken on the salads. Restaurant is clean and staff are very friendly but I would like to see what this place is like when busy.

Suggestions to fix: Cucumber in greek salad is to big Galaktoureko desert should not sit in the syrup as it is now mush Greek salad has to much salad dressing Employees should not walk around with headset on Dinners need to have less rice. You dont want to overfill guests To go containers should be recyclable Music should also match the atmosphere, relaxing and same culture (not music found everywhere else and hard to hear people talk). Use your atmosphere as your weapon and stand out!

We bought the Big family dinner for $60 and VERY disappointed of the sides we received. The dinner has 6 sandwiches with 2 salads that could feed 4-5 people yet the amount of potatoes and rice were a joke. Only four lemon potatoes and small container of rice. Potatoes and rice are cheap so why cheap out. Wouldnt buy again.notbworth $60.

I ordered from here yesterday. The girl processing the transaction was contaminating her hands by adjusting her mask by the part directly in front of her mouth while handling the debit machine and even lowered her mask below her mouth to speak to me. Why even bother wear a mask or wash your hands if this your mask etiquette? We got home to open the take out order and it was missing the 4 pop that we paid for with the Big Family Meal. We opted for double roasted potatoes instead of one rice and one roasted potato. The double roasted potato serving was small and definitely isn t enough for 6 people (meal comes with 6 sandwiches). I would not order from here again.

A tiny portion of Mousakka, a very poor family sized Greek salad (98 lettuce with 2 olives, 3 slices of cucumber and a sprinkle of feta cheese. My wifes souvlaki was adaquate. All for $45?? I felt violated. We were tourists in town for one night only so we must have got them on a bad night??? Anyway it was not a great meal.

Food was delicious and hot. Portions were huge. Service was very personable and friendly. We enjoyed the Falafel and Hummus Platter and Chicken Shwarma platter. Tried the trio of house made dips (house made fire feta, tzatziki and hummus) with pita as an appetizer and it was so good! Once of our standby favourite places to eat or for take out. Consistently great service and food!
This place is a go to when Im going out to eat with my friends. The foods good, the atmosphere is cute and comfortable, and the employees are always nothing but welcoming.

Ordered delivery over the phone to downtown and was really disappointed with the meal and the price. $7 delivery fee and a very mediocre mixed plate. The chicken souvlaki was particularly unsatisfactory! Very dry and a little cold upon arrival. Perhaps its better at the restaurant.
