We are from Toronto and we were looking for a good place to have dinner and found this place from google. I must say it was worth the trip. The atmosphere was excellent and the service was amazing and the food was great and the quantity was way more than I expected. Thea, our beautiful and bubbly server is the best. She is awesome If you are in town give it a try .. you will not be disappointed

Our first time in Sudbury and we looked around and saw the menu and reviews and decided to give it a try. We went with 3 appetizers, all were just delicious. The calamari and shrimp fritos, the deep wood bruschetta with prosciutto and the chicken wings. The quantities were really good and filling. A bit too much for both of us. Last but not least, our lovely and wonderful server, Thea was a delight to deal with. She was awesome! Overall the vibe, atmosphere, food, service were all top quality!! Have to add that before we left , we met Rob, the owner and he is so down to earth and such a pleasant person to talk to. He gave us a quick history of his journey of his business and we wish him well.

Now this place is a hidden gem! Highly recommended! Last time we went we brought our baby out for a bite to eat, and was no issues at all. Family friendly, owner has so much knowledge, love and respect for the business and the people around him. The food is top notch! If your looking for something besides basic, dull pub food this is the place to be! Will leave your taste pallets satisfied and wanting more! Atmosphere feels very warm, and welcoming. The staff here always has a smile and makes sure you have a very pleasant experience! 10/10 highly recommended

Terrific atmosphere and it was hopping on a Tuesday night. Well staffed and very good service. The menu is really interesting and it was hard to choose!! Our appetizers were very tasty and I regretted not ordering pizza after trying my friend s delicious dinner. I had a tomato based pasta with pancetta which was good (not great). I was happy to finally visit after hearing about it for many years!! (I am from out of town)

It was our first time at Resepct is Burning. Very clean, cozy, rustic atmosphere. Tables are well displayed and spacious. Felt nostalgic when the dinner plates came out, this struck a great family dinner conversation with the kids and bringing up memories of who we knew that had the specific table setting. Haha, I didnt ever think a plate pattern would do that, but it did! We ordered two pizzas, and one of the kiddos wanted their own dinner plate. Pizzas were excellent. The size was of a medium and thin crust. The taste and texture felt hand/home made. We had the New York style and Werewolf by Night, both very tasty and full of flavor and not overpowering. The sauce ratio was good to balance out the toppings. Our one kiddo had the Gnocchi Nonnia. He didnt leave anything to bring home. That there says it all. Haha. Heballowed me to have two gnocchi. Cooked well, nice and soft with a flavorful sauce. Service was good. The server was great with the kids and timed well throughout the meal. Kids picked for desert the Neutella pizza. The taste brought me back to childhood. We were all so full from dinner that we had a few bites and ended up taking it home. Bathrooms clean was clean and well kept. Deffinately will return and recommend. Parking: There was space to park a f150 extended bed with full crew cab. Kid-friendliness: Staff were amazing with kids. Especially since we have one child on the spectrum, the server and crew were amazing. Which prompts us to make plans to return.

Gnocchi, carbonara, and pizza were delicious. Adult drinks were good, but light on alcohol. My kids loved the Shirley Temple & Roy Rogers.

We came here 20 years ago and the food was absolutely delicious! I never forgot the name of the restaurant as it was so original. Favourite restaurant. Hands down. Amazing service, accommodating staff, and phenomenal food. Learned about this place when we lived in Elliot Lake 6 years ago. Drove from Ottawa recently and made it a priority stop. The seafood pasta is amazing. Fresh, not fishy, the scallops were soft and buttery. Do it. Go. Spend the money. Its one of the best meals you will have. Cannot wait to go back. Parking: Just be aware of where you are parking. One side of the restaurant isnt too bad, the other side is a pretty rough part of the neighbourhood. I wouldnt leave anything in my vehicle. Kid-friendliness: No problems with kids in the resto. No real kid friendly options for supper? My kiddos had the ravioli and loved it, but I know mine are adventurous eaters compared to others. Its not really set up to be a family restaurant (which is totally okay, its AMAZING).

We were extremely disappointed with our dining experience. Despite the friendly and articulate hostess who seated us, the rest of the evening fell short of expectations. My sons carbonara sauce was a disaster, having completely separated into a thin layer of oil with patches of thicker sauce. His meal arrived a full seven minutes after the rest of ours, forcing us to wait out of courtesy and resulting in our food becoming cold. My steak, priced at over $50, was shockingly poor in quality. It was clearly a single-serve vacuum-packed piece that was so thin it couldnt possibly be cooked to the medium-rare I requested. Instead, it arrived an unappetizing gray color, completely devoid of the expected redness. Additionally, the pints of beer we ordered were misleadingly labeled. In Canada, a pint is legally required to be 20 ounces, yet Im certain the pints served were only 16 ounces. Our waitress was not as attentive as she could have been. When we first arrived, we received our initial drinks, but I was eager to order a second drink before our meals arrived, and she never returned. It seemed that she only became chatty and friendly towards the end of our meal, when a tip was at stake. The total bill for our party of four, including four inaccurately labeled pints and tip, came to $240. Its incredibly frustrating to spend that kind of money and be so thoroughly disappointed with the quality of the meal and the service.

Just came tonight and I must say that the service was excellent. Jennifer was attentive, kind and welcoming. We ordered the beef carpaccio, which was delicious - but I wish they would have put a bit more aioli! We then shared the salsiccia pizza. Also delicious, I do recommend more sausage and a bit less mushroom. Otherwise, this was such a great meal and a great service experience. Thanks Jennifer!!

Jess was an absolute pleasure of a server. She knew the menu in and out, we took every one of her recommendations and did not regret it. We will be back - if not for the amazing food, for Jess alone. Wine bottles well priced, vibe and lighting immaculate, effervescent servers - easily a highlight of northern Ontario culinary scene.

I visited this restaurant for my anniversary because I had positive experiences in the past. We had the mussels for an appetizer and they were far too salty. The underlying quality of ingredients and favours were good but the salt was overwhelming. My rigatoni also was very salty to the point where I was reaching for my glass of water or wine with each bite. Disappointing Response: This occurred on June 5th.

My husband and I went with our daughter and had a phenomenal meal. The server Meghan was amazing and knowledgeable about the menu. The pasta I had was fresh made and so tasty. The portion sizes were plenty for sharing. Ill definitely be back for many more meals.

Best food in the country of Canada. The only reason we went 3 hours out of our way to stay in Sudbury is to eat here and to see the owner Rob who is not only a fantastic host but a world class chef. We will be back every time we go to Canada.

The food was amazing however veggies were a little over done. The service was phenomenal and it s a great atmosphere however the music is very loud. Truly appreciated the visit from Rob. His attention to customers is refreshing.

Never short of anything but a good time, the whole vibe of everything is spectacular! The food is always a hit, I can t get enough of the mushroom pasta. The selections of wine is also something to be desired. I love it here

The service and food were great. We loved the decor as well. The bruschetta with mushroom and prosciutto, ceasar salad, son of satan pizza, werewolf by night pizza and the pastas were all delicious. My only complaints were that it was a little dark to read the menus and very high traffic. Its best to make a reservation as it was very busy.

Im sure at one point in time this restaurant was located in the heart of Italy. How this restaurant is in Sudbury is still a mystery to most locals. The food is authentic and couldnt be more delicious every time we visit. The atmosphere compliments the food and the service must come from the top down. Rob(owner) will be seen on many occasions sitting at tables chatting with customers about the city, current events and his love for family! We truly appreciate everytime he does this with us, complete strangers, now freinds. We highly recommend you eat here!

My husband and I went out here to celebrate my new job the other night, we ve been in Sudbury for the last 5 years or so and for some reason have never been. The food is just incredible, the staff is amazing, and the atmosphere was really great. My husband bumped into the owner on his way to the bathroom and when he found out we were out celebrating he asked the waitress to bring us over some free drinks. Such a great experience here, we will be new regular customers for sure!

We finally found a perfect date spot. Food was amazing. Service was fantastic. Rob, the owner was amazing as well. You can really tell his heart and soul is in this place. We spent $135 which we found incredibly decently priced. We each had a few drinks, shared an appetizer, a dessert, and each had pasta. The pasta and bread were to die for. Definitely go if you have the chance. We will be back for sure.

Im a little disappointed, I came in craving pasta however all dishes were a little heavy with cream or meat. Both which my pregnant belly did not agree with. I asked if the kitchen would make a plain butter sauce to accommodate and I was told no. So I spent 150$ on food that I could not eat.

On March 30 we had ceaser salad meat balls with garlic bread the person that was with me had ravioli and meat balls with garlic bread they were sick through the night the service was excellent with the meal the meat balls came barely warm the other times the meat balls were hot we had to let them cool so with one of us getting sick we wont be back

Over priced for the quantity you get. Ribs are dry, barely any meat on the bones and WAY too much oil used in the brushetta. Litterally all I tasted, Gross. lamb was good but the portion sizes are deffinitly NOT worth a $60 plate. Never going back.

Chicken and mushrooms with mashed potatoes were quite delicious. We needed to use our phone lights to read the menu, which was a little too dark. My wife had a shrimp noodle dish that was fantastic as well. They also do gluten-free, which honestly I could not tell the difference between regular noodles. That, too, was super yummy. First off I want to start off saying that normally I would give a 5 star to RIB. Usually we dine in but this time we decided to try the takeout menu. We ordered the Deep Woods Bruschetta, Crispy truffle fries, Nonnas meat balls, and the Funghi pizza, not a difficult order. I placed the order at 4pm and asked to pick it up at 5pm. I arrived at 5:10pm and was told my order would be about 5 to 10 mins they are just finishing up. Id like to mention the wait staff were very polite. I stood around for a while and was then asked if I want to sit down to wait, It was now 5:25pm. I waiting until 5:45pm before I received my order, I had a 15min drive home. Once I arrive home and unpacked everything, I was surprised that everything was cold, I expected it to be warm at the very least considering I didnt have for to drive. I warmed up the pizza and fries in the microwave, the fries tasted old like they had been reheated, the pizza was kinda soggy and had a very heavy anchovie sauce which I dont remember being on the pizza the last time I ordered it. The Deep Woods, I didnt re-heat but the bread it was served on was disappointingly soft and very un-toasted, the flavor was still what I remember however which was a plus. The meatballs were good, hard to mess up a meatball though. I am going to chalk up this bad experience to ordering out instead of eating in, I plan to give RIB another chance and dine in next time. I respect RIB to much to burn them without a second chance first. See you again soon,

Great place for a quick bite! It is always packed and the seating is tight which makes for a loud overpopulated environment. At times, we have felt pressured to eat and get out quickly due to influx of people.

We called to make a reservation multiple times, once we spoke to someone they were rude and dismissive. We asked to make the reservation later in the week for 9pm for 12 people, which we were told they couldn t accommodate. The best they could do was 8:15 for 10 people, which we took. We arrived a couple minutes early for our 8:15pm reservation with 10 people and told it would be a few minutes. 9pm rolls around and we still aren t seated They were not very apologetic for making us wait almost an hour for our reservation table. The waitress made us seam like an inconvenience and barely spoke to us. Food was alright but nothing special. Would not come back.

Food and price are great. Service was great. If you have never been here--I recommend checking them out. The menu is large, and there is something for everyone!

Although the menu seems to be loaded with cheese, cream or wine sauce, theres something for everyone. I had the caesars salad with a chicken breast. The salad was really good. If youre not very hungry, you can order something from the appetizers section, its equally just as good as an entree. Currently, they dont have the chocolate cake, but they might have it back on the menu sometimes later. The staff is nice, good clientele.

Stayed over in Sudbury for the night and decided at the last min to try this place for a family meal. They were incredibly accommodating getting us in right away. There are no words that can describe how incredibly our meal was. Everything from start to finish was hands down mind blowing. There was a point that my boys and I did everything we could to not pick up the mussel dish and drink out the left over juice, and Im not even a huge lover of mussels. We live over 5 hrs away, but this place will definitely be the reason I return to Sudbury.

I m in love with this place. We ordered a variety of apps and dishes to try and loved every single one. My personal fave was the rigatoni funghi. I am definitely coming back next time I visit my hometown. Well done Rob and crew - thank you

Five star for everything. First time come to Sudbury, and the food here is amazing. I ordered two appetizers and one pasta, one pizza, didn t finished the pizza, the portion is excellent and more than enough for two people. The mushroom pasta is a must.

Great food with nice portions and a welcoming dark atmosphere (we ate on the patio at 8pm) and very clean. Our waitress, Vanessa was absolutely amazing and gave honest recommendations. She was really chill to talk to as well! The music was at a nice level so we didn t have to yell to hear each other and it suited the setting. They even have an area upstairs for private functions! Highly recommend giving this nice Italian restaurant a try!

Our group of friends had a wonderful dinner here. Interesting and unusual items on the menu. We had the crispy mushroom salad (excellent), 2 pizzas, the ribs and the mushroom rigatoni. The ribs were maybe a little chewier but the flavour was great! I really liked the service from our server but after we finished eating it felt a little rushed. She was clearing our plates very quickly. I checked to see if we were maybe too close to closing time and nope it was 9 and they closed at 10. Aside from that I highly recommend the food

Simply excellent

Throughly enjoyed every minute there. Seated right away for my daughters birthday party. Waitress was absolutely amazing. Apps and drinks were ordered and were out on the table within 15 mins, kind of big portions, fresh, very hot, and very delicious. We were given a good amount of time to enjoy our apps and our main course came out. All 18 of us enjoyed our meals and we all spoke of how amazing everything tasted. The drinks were delicious too. This would most definitely be a restaurant I would recommend over and over again. I have gone here quite a few times, and it has never disappointed and this bday party was no exception. This is absolutely one of Sudburys main attractions!!!

Edited: Returned later in the week as promised. Had the Bistecca E Fritti. One of the best steaks Ive ever had across this country. Also the Dolcemisu was off the chain ridiculously good. Im in town for a week and finding a decent place to eat is always a challenge. Ive just currently finished my meal (Carbonara) and I can say unequivocally that it is the most authentic and tasty carbonara (my go to dish) Ive had in a very long time. The service has been exceptional (example: the server brought tasters of wine for me), helpful, knowledgeable (NO carbonara *does not* use cream!) and unobtrusive, which is a pleasure that is underrated. I plan to return later in the week to give some other dishes a chance at my palate. Edit: the cappuccino was fabulous! Thanks for a fantastic supper.

Your wallet will be burning after a trip to this place! 25 dollar plate of ravioli with 15 dollar cocktails, brutal. Good food, but its just pasta with tomato sauce...

A terrific little patio that seems to always be busy. I checked in for dinner on Thursday at 6 and within 10 minutes there was a 20 person lineup waiting. Service was prompt and friendly - the patio can be breezy so do watch your menus and wine glasses! Extensive selection of pastas and mains - there s probably something here for any palate. I had pasta amitriciana and, while flavorful, I found a bit on the sparse side for sauce and pancetta, considering the 24 dollar price. I think that a small side of bread or green salad is merited when you hit around 25 for pastas. Wine selection is small but proper, and bottle prices actually still reasonable (double LCBOS, which is below average) Obviously a local favorite and I d probably go back again too.

Our first time to this place as our son and daughter in laws recommendation. We are out of towners. Atmosphere is very nice dining. We were in t-shirt and shorts, as were others on this hot day, others were dressed up a bit. Patio was not open. Waitress was very pleasant. Service was very quick. We were out in less than an hour. I had the sausage, mushroom and truffle shell pasta dish. Hubby had the farmhouse sugo and we ordered a basket of garlic bread. Both meals were simply delicious. Extremely hot when it arrived at the table. Killer garlic in mine, but who does not like garlic. The sausage, the waitress said was very small pieces.. I could not find any of it... the mushrooms were also very finely chopped. I brought a takeout container for lunch tomorrow as the portions are very generous. Hubby was able to finish his all up. Would certainly recommend this place to anyone. You do have to parallel park downtown, but it is free after 5pm wkdays.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The young girls are friendly but what can we say about the typically Italian menu. One word, delicious!

Absolutely the most complete italian menu Ive ever seen (Im italian, lived in Italy with my grandma for ten years, and go there every year) ... a connaisseurs paradise... and finally when you receive your dish, its exactly the way its supposed to be... Fritto and the two pasta we had were perfect, in real traditional italian cuisine style: simple and exquisite.

This is an easy 5-star people. We had the perfect night. Every bite of the food was delicious. You gotta try the crispy mushroom salad. I don t know what witchcraft they used, but each forkful was better than the previous one.

Solid choice in Sudbury. Patio is large and bustling with good energy. Our server (Vanessa) was the perfect compliment. Started off with the cauliflower app and it was a 5 outta 5. Pastas: ravioli and gnocchi were standard and the rose sauce with prosciutto propped up these standards. Order the bread. Just do it, carbs be damned. You will likely be tasting the garlic well into the evening. Coffee was better than expected. All Pepsi products so not a Coke Zero to be had.

As someone who tells everyone and their mother that Respect has the best pizza i ve ever had, i am quite disappointed it s being over looked. You can only get it for takeout tuesday-thursday and it s not available for dine- in on any day. As someone who strongly prefers pizza to pasta, this leads me to go elsewhere and always be disappointed in the pizza from literally anywhere else. The staff is always super super friendly though. But for the love of everyone who has and has not (yet) had the pleasure of tasting the best pizza in the world; bring it back, for dine in and takeout everyday.

Amazing. Great food, and by that I mean probably the best Ive ever had. Awesome and friendly staff. Rob is just amazing, always makes sure that you have an exceptional experience. Great sized portions, not crazy big, but definitely enough that you leave full and very satisfied, and quite reasonably priced as well. Literally cant say enough good things, we spent most of the meal talking about how good our meals were. The atmosphere is great, we were all dressed up, and there were others there in everyday clothes, and nobody looked out of place, just a great place to have a great time. I will definitely be going back.

Went with two other couples and the food was incredible. I had one of their pasta dishes and it was honestly so delicious, I forgot my leftovers in my car and the next day my car smelled fantastic lol. It did take a while to get our food but they were super busy so that is very understandable! Would definitely recommend!

Dont have a Margareta here, it was awful, all I tasted was shaved ice. Our meals were okay but we needed to buy the bread, when it should be included with the meal, since it was quite soupy. The chicken wings were just that...not even some carrot and celery sticks for the dip. We were all disappointed and will not come back.

My wife and I visited this restaurant this evening and were very impressed with the service, and food. Im 71 years old and this was one of, if not the best pasta with white cream sauce that I have ever eaten. From the hostess to our server, Jennifer, everything was exceptional. I definitely will return to this restaurant when we return to Sudbury.
