I have been going to this restaurant for years! And I have never once been disappointed with the food or service. The only time I have been upset is when they are closed lol Only place is Sudbury I trust with my Veggie Dragon and miso soup. Delicious Vegetarian options: Veggie Dragon is da bomb!!

The best sushi in Sudbury with the best service hands down. I have been going to this restaurant for over 10 years and have many fond memories of going here with my older and younger siblings and my parents. I have celebrated birthdays here. I have celebrated anniversaries here. I have laughed here and I have cried here. Whenever I eat here it feels like coming home. The price is well worth it. The memories will be worth it. The food is incredible. Make sure you try the salmon!

Had worst experience ever. I planned to go there on my birthday. On Google it says its closing at 9pm but when I went there I got to know that theyve already closed the kitchen. I went there the next day because I really love the food and I went 1 hour earlier. But even after reaching there at 8pm they said theyre closed. If you want to close your restaurant all the time then just dont even open it. Dont know how to treat the customers at all. Had really bad experience.

Really good food but the worst restaurant ever, they denied me service two times saying we were closing early and even though it was my birthday I couldnt eat at the the place I liked, dont recommend to anyone there are better places in Sudbury with better taste and Better customer service

Jeff and his team continue to amaze after so many years. His cuisine is on par with any high end sushi place in Toronto. Sudbury is lucky to have him. Now that I am retired, I hope to go back yo a schedule of weekly lunches there.

The first time I ate this sushi was around 2008 it is still by far the best sushi in Sudbury I absolutely love the dynamite rolls. So much Ive never ordered a different roll in 14 years. Both take out or dine in is a top notch experience. Great stuff great atmosphere and fantastic food. If youre new to or youre visiting Sudbury and have a craving for some sushi I would definitely recommend this to be your first pick Parking: Sometimes depending on the time of day you go it can be a little tricky to find parking, but I would drive around the block 10 times to get this sushi. Before 6pm If youre going for takeout and youre fast enough you dont have to pay for parking just get in and get out before the meter maids comes around. After 6:00 pm its free parking street parking

The service was great! Our server was patient, explained everything and made great suggestions. This was my first time. I usually do all you can eat elsewhere,but after this experience, Im no longer going elsewhere. The flavours were fantastic and we still had a great variety for around the same price of AYCE. The spicy chicken teriyaki was to die for!

Had lunch here after hearing good things about it for years. The food was excellent with large portions for a very reasonable price. Ill be going back again for sure.

Tried to place a takeaway order with a bald white dude, who first seemed about to take my order before suddenly refusing. I don t think we re doing takeout right now, we re super busy. Never going back. Service : 1/5

I tried the red mountain from the new menu. Loved it! I enjoyed my green tea, great flavour. My friend was seeking tea with no caffeine at all, but they didnt have any. Lunch service was quick and the server was great. She let us know that on rainy days, if your parking meter runs out, you are less likely to get a ticket. Good to know.

Checked online to see if you were open today for dinner service and after confirming that you were open today drove in from out of town only to be greeted with your restaurant closed while still showing as open on Google. Incredibly disappointed.

While Sapporo Ichibang may not provide the best value for your buck, they provide the best quality Japanese and Korean dishes around. No further discussion. Been here quite a few times and the staff are great.

genuinely the best sushi ever. My partner and i drove there from out of town and now we cannot stop talking about how amazing this place was if youre looking for a inexpensive great place to enjoy some sushi i highly recommend here!

I am just traveling in for work visiting Sudbury for the first time, and Google research led me to this restaurant. Servers were kind, but service itself was on the slow side, considering restaurant was about 1/3 full and there were 2-3 people working the floor. I had tempura udon which was ok. Udon was bit bland but not too bad. However, tempura didnt feel freshly fried. It reminded me of a day old fried food reheated in an air fryer, which was very sad and disappointing. Looking at all the reviews on their sushi options, maybe I should have tried that instead..

Its my first time having sushi since moving back from the west coast, and I can honestly say I was really impressed with the food. The tempura was light and not greasy, the sushi was fresh, delicious and flavourful, and the service was fantastic. The only issues I had was that the restaurant was absolutely freezing so I didnt enjoy my time sitting there. I also wish I had asked if they had low sodium soy sauce because the soy sauce made available on the tables had me chugging water for days.

5-stars. I love the food, love the taste, and love the nice staff. Every time we come and dine in...this place never disappointed us. My favourite sushi place.

Went for lunch with coworkers. Food came quickly, servers were all very friendly. Not too expensive but not cheap if youre used to all you can eat. Cost me 25$ (after taxes and tip) for a lunch with appetizer. Would definetly go again. It looks nice and more spacious then where they were before! Items on the menu are indicated as vegetarian, it was easy to ask and remember which were vegan before. Sad news, the things that were vegan are no longer vegan. This limits the options quite a lot.

First time here and I only tried some Korean. It was warm, tasty and flavourful on a cold evening. Tasted homemade which I appreciated. I ll be back soon try the sushi because it looks amazing. Stay tuned for a probable 5 star.

When I was a teenager, I loved this place. One time. when I had the Udon noodle soup, I did not have enough money to cover the bill. The sever was kind enough to let me eat but I did not leave a tip. I will always feel bad for that. I brought my friends later for sushi and that and I am not sure we tipped, but thank you so much. It was wonderful, and the first Japanese restaurant I ever went to

Birthday dinner for 4 of us. we were going to order a sushi party tray and some other rolls but then found out that they had new rolls. ordered red mountain, amoure hotate and queen roll and let me tell you... it was beyond my expectations. went to many sushi places even in Toronto and those rolls are different... too bad its not all you can eat place otherwise I would of tried other new rolls but definitely going back to try more. highly recommended

Pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. The service was great. The food is delicious and served hot. Loads of flavor and they have a great choice of items to choose from. We have been there now several times and each time it was great.

Sudbury has a few good sushi joints, but Sapporo might be my favourite (hard to choose). I think their miso is probably the best in the city -- so much umami!!! Their rolls are lovely and artistic and delicious. If you sushi, sushi here, and if youve never sushid, this place is a good place to start!

Had an amazing lunch there recently. Kimchi trio was delicious. Sushi/sashimi/maki were very tasty. Takoyaki was amazing. Can be pricey, but a la carte sushi here is way better than an all you can eat spot. You get what you pay for.

Sapporo Ichibang has been my favorite since I was born. Literally. Jeff, the owner, has watched me grow over the last 16 years. Lots of love for this place and I hope its prosperous for many many more years to come. Food is amazing and prepared with care, and the staff are very friendly too.

Went out for dinner before heading to the STC for a theatre show. I ordered the vegetarian maki dinner. The rolls came out quickly and tasted fantastic. The service was excellent with a good atmosphere. The meal also came with miso soup and a bite sized salad. Definitely will come back.

Always love it here ... Whether its eat-in or take out. The tempura tofu appetizer is a mouth pleaser and the tempura roll is a delicious belly-filler.

Dont try to order over the phone. They dont answer their phone. Calling for half an hour, no answer. And I have loved this place for over a decade but lately...Ive also sat in the restaurant while the phone has rung non-stop. So service seems to have fallen of a cliff if not going in. Sorry Jeff, your sushi is first rate but you need staff that can do something as simple as answer a phone once in a half hour. Youre response says closed due to holiday and your website does say holidays but I assumed you would be open Tuesday after the holiday. Obviously I havent seen the sign as Im trying to call from home to place an order. Thank you for responding, that saved me driving to the restaurant. And I apologize to your staff.

In the past, this was my favorite sushi spot in town. Most recently, it is the only restaurant that Ive ever returned food to the kitchen in my entire life (its just not a thing I do). That being said, the staff was very understanding and discounted half the item from the bill, which they really didnt have to do. As far as actual sushi & tempura are concerned, this restaurant ranks among the highest in Sudbury, the quality is much better than the all-you-can-eat places. Their ingredients are always fresh and delicious. One recommendation, DO NOT order the ramen. Its instant noodles (apparently) in a homemade broth but it just tasted like a $1.99 Kimchi instant noodles soup from the grocery store, which is why I refused to eat it. Update: Weve been again & the quality has really slipped. This is no longer my go-to place for sushi, the quality and flavor simply arent there anymore + the wait staff member is quite awkward anytime I go with my spouse. This used to be the best date spot!

This is one of the best sashimi I have ever had, including my trip to Japan. The staff is super friendly and attentive, the food is delicious and the fish is one of the freshest Ive ever had. Sashimi literally melts in your mouth- The sushi chef(s) here know what theyre doing! Very reasonably priced too Would highly reccomend for an authentic Japanese food experience (and if nothing else, to see the sake machine!)

Sapporo Ichibang is hands down, the best japanese restaurant in Sudbury. I have had the spicy maki, ramen, sashimi platter, dynamite roll, miso soup, saké since eating there regularly at lunch. Always absolutely amazing with great presentation.

The best sushi place I have been too. Sudbury #1 place to go for sushi. I don t mind paying the extra because it s fresh, and tastes so much better then the rushed AYCE. Will be coming here for all my sushi cravings from now on! The service is friendly, and they always make note to remember who you are. :)

Disappointing, arrived home to discover no soya sauce and no wasabi. Sashimi on warm rice with salad in between, net net was warm salad and fish.....will not go there again

Ordered two things: okonomiyaki and the small maki deal. The first was absolutely delicious, but the maki was a bit lackluster, definitely not to the value of the high price. Order more exclusive/unique sushi sets and japanese food.

Came here on a week day after 6; we were seated and served immediately. Our waitress was very kind and understandable when we didn t know if the miso soup included noodles or a dumpling. The food was delicious compared to other sushi restaurants in Sudbury, and affordable. $40 total for our order! A very quiet and calm environment. Amazing restaurant, will be coming again! This is the best sushi place in town hands down. If youre eating sushi somewhere else you have no idea what youre missing. Definitely try the L2 lunch special if youre newer/never tried. Totally worth it.

I m sorry but this is one of the most disappointing Japanese restaurants. Well, I lived in Japan for 10+ years so let me just say among other things this place is a huge departure from authentic Japanese cuisine. Portions are ridiculously small. And expensive. And sushi... Smith s is actually better. Again I d hate to leave such a negative review but I won t be ordering from them again. Hopefully after covid I will go back to GTA for real Japanese food.

Sapporo does not offer all-you-can-eat sushi but they do offer some pretty fantastic platters and dinners, as well as a la carte. The platters are quite generous and well priced. Service is quick and the staff are friendly.

I have enjoyed their Sushi Sashimi Dinner (19.95) a few times over the last year. I always phone in my order for pick up, as I like to make extra rice at home, (my sake is cheaper too!). I usually order it on a Saturday evening. Sometimes they are too busy to answer their phone so I have to call two or three times. Last night, I called three times with no answer. Hoping they werent closed, I put my rice cooker on and walked the four blocks to Sapporo Ichibang. They certainly were busy when I arrived, but I was quite disappointed when I was told that they werent accepting any orders for take out. At all! I think its great to have such a good restaurant in Sudbury. Just be prepared for an experience like mine.

I frequent this restaurant basically once a week and never was disappointed. The service is fast and efficient and the staff friendly. Prices are reasonable, especially from the lunch menu. It is good to have a healthy and tasty meal at least once a week. If for ever any reason the meal might not be to my liking I am sure that the owner and the staff will rectify it immediately. Not that I expect something like it, but their attitude is to please their customers.

The service is epic; always positive/ upbeat, even when theyre swamped. They are swift and consistent with the foods taste and presentation. What feels like generous portions to me, its worth every dime imo. Sometimes I have boring moods of ~just want chicken and rice, plain and simple... and they cater to that.
