Oscar's Grill in Sudbury

My girlfriend and I joined some friends for dinner on Saturday. It was our first time, so we didnt know what to expect. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and promptly shown our reserved table. Service was fantastic, our server would occasionally break out in song, not realizing he had been singing lol. The food was fantastic. We certainly will make this another of our favorites for date nights. Thank you Oscars.

Wandered in for a lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The server was quick, comfortable and accurate. They even accept cash payment without any hesitation.

Amazing food, and service! I am always happy to eat here for lunch or dinner when I have errands downtown P.S. try the perogie dip you wont be dissapointed!

We had a large group of almost 30 and the service was impeccable! Our waiter Richard did a fantastic job managing all of our orders & was super efficient! Food was excellent as well!!

An excellent experience with take out. Helpful,friendly staff and a meal extraordinaire. The chicken parm was delicious and went well with the cesar salad. Thank you.

The best burger in town.

The food was really good. The service was friendly and good. Drink options are interesting. The menu had a lot of great options. They have the normal high end options mixed in with some unique options and their high end burgers are actually really good. Be aware the dishes are rather large.

This restaurant is amazing, even the water here somehow tastes gourmet! I would definitely recommend this place to every friend of mine. HE-HE Vegetarian options: There are a decent amount of Vegetarian options, I wish vegetarian butter was an option though, he-he :/

We celebrated my Moms milestone birthday this past weekend at Oscars with 20 family members, and they truly made her evening so special! The food was amazing, the service was outstanding and friendly (which can be difficult to do with such a large group!). Eric the Piano Man was such a gem, he took requests and had the entire restaurant sing Happy Birthday to Mom. Thank you to Mike and the entire staff for an unforgettable evening, it was wonderful to get together as a family and your restaurant was the perfect venue!

The patio was the perfect size, the server was phenomenal and super attentive to if we needed anything. Food was fabulous, definitely a fan of the Perogy Dip 10/10 would recommend as a top stop downtown Sudbury!!

Great food, great customer service! Always impressed by the selection of northern ontario craft beer, seems to rotate often. No indecisiveness when we plan to eat downtown, Oscars tops the list every time.

The service was good, waitress was friendly the food was delicious and the cocktail were refreshing. Highly recommend if your in town.

Food was absolutely amazing, service was not. We got our drinks right away being seated but then it seemed our waitress had forgotten about us. We waited 30 mins after our drinks to have our order taken and we had to wave down another waiter to let him know. Once our apps arrived, our waitress didnt come back for atleast 35-45 mins to bring our main meal. The restaurant was not busy therefore she should of checked on us a few times. Again the food was amazing and the waitress was very nice but there was lack of service.

Thanks to 4 really great restaurants closing in the last couple months downtown Sudbury I discovered this one as selection was poor however I have fallen in love with it. The service the food are wonderful and the price is reasonable. My new favorite restaurant

A great atmosphere and fantastic food!

Oscars is more of a 3.5 stars... liked the ambiance with the piano playing it is quiet or loud enough to talk to the person you are with and the food goes with the ambiance.

Expecting a typical domesticate selection of beer it was a real pleasure to find that Oscars has a great variety of local beer on tap along with good helpings of well prepared food. Friendly service and nice to be open at the front on a warm evening. Definitely good for a return visit at some point.

Was good as always

Terrible service! My husband and I went here to have a few drinks. We waited 5 mins and no one had the courtesy to greet or acknowledge us as we waited to be seated. Both the waitress and bartender looked up at us and then quickly pretended they never seen us. We were very unimpressed by this and ended up leaving. Dont expect us to be back.

Top notch fish sandwich (special of the day) .

Incredible food, best burger in town, can be cooked to order. Anything odf the grill, and even the seafood and salads, and top notch. Do not miss!

Stumbled upon this little gem in search of a good steak dinner but what we found was a great steak dinner instead. Loved the atmosphere and Blake was awesome!! We will definitely go back again.

Our first experience at Oscars was not quite what we expected. We expected high quality service and food. I reserved a booth a few days ago. When we arrived, we were seated in a half table half booth beside the kitchen. Not exactly as we planned .. it was high traffic, very busy and very distracting. And literally half a table with plenty of bench left in the open. We wanted an excellent meal and were willing to spend top dollar for the meal. It was my birthday dinner and I wanted it to be great. It took a while for the server to even take our drink order. We decided on Caesars but I asked for no Tabasco and if they had Franks instead.. she didnt know. We ordered the fungi flatbread as an appetizer at the same time as well. She came back around 8 min later and my Caesar was with Tabasco. She asked if we were ready to order the entrees. We said yes. We both wanted the steak and lobster.. when we asked what sides came with that she said you can have fries or poutine if we wanted. Really?? Poutine fries with a steak and lobster dinner ??? We looked at each other and said is there any other side?? Perhaps a baked potato? She said I dont know and went and checked the kitchen. She said there was mashed potatoes or roasted potatoes.. we agreed on the roasted potatoes. The flatbread was ok .. it was a little over cooked and crunchy and topped with a large mound of green leafy things. It was good. We had our meal arrive and it was ok. The steak was not medium rare like we asked for. More on the medium well side. The lobster was a bit tough and the garlic butter was just not great. We finished our meal with disappointment in the quality. She asked if we would like dessert and I asked for a menu. She said I dont have a menu Ill just tell you what the desserts are. She rhymed off a number of things and my boyfriend mentioned it was my birthday.. she stated I got a dessert for free. I truly appreciated the free dessert. I chose the chocolate cheesecake and my boyfriend got the caramel cake. They were both really good. Probably the best part of the meal.. overall, I believe in supporting the locally owned restaurants and didnt want a chain restaurant.. I did have high expectations for this place and for 175$ night I did expect a lot more class and high quality. I doubt we will return to this local establishment. Which in the end is too bad.. The Piano guy deserves a huge shout out as he was excellent!!

10/10 service, 10/10 environment, 10/10 food, and 10/10 beautiful restaurant. This place has the best, and I mean the absolute BEST calamari in all of Sudbury, and everything else is equally amazing as well. Drinks are a little pricey here, but for a pre-drink and a meal there really is no better alternative.

First and will not be a last time! A thank you to our server Regina for recommending the steaks for dinner. Drinks were deelish and the creme brule was the the biggest serving Ive ever seen.

This place is amazing. Ive been there a few times. Once for the rehersal party before my wedding, another with a few friends on a casual night out. They had a piano player who took requests, vegan options for the meatless and one heck of an atmosphere. Youd have to be a total grouch not to like Oscars.

I Had the burger special recommended by our server Regina and it was delicious. She was also very courteous, checked up to see how we were doing and gave us suggestion in their new cocktail menu. Oscar s is a a great restaurant to enjoy a meal and company.

A very nice casual dining experienc. A dress shirt and a nice pair of jeans makes you feel at home. You get exactly your moneys worth. Very good food and a great atmosphere. It was perfect for my wife and I for date night!

I have been here a few times and each time I have been disappointed. The service is always good, staff are very friendly however the food is sub par. The food is always lacking of seasoning and has little to no flavour. Will not be going back, I can make better quality food at home for a fraction of the price.

What a hidden gem in the middle of downtown Sudbury! There for lunch meeting a friend. Had the salmon salad. Salmon , a good sized portion, comes warm an placed on top of the salad. Delicious! I will be back very soon with my wife. She will love it. Our waiter was great and very attentive to our needs and requests.

Great place. The food is very good, they have vegan options which are very tasty. Its just a little loud when there a lots of people. Other than that, the staff is great and so is the food.

Large restaurant compared to most downtown. Although it had a medium to small menu, there was still a lot of choices with lots of options. Everything was fresh and delicious. Theres a good beer selection, a quality wine list, and good seasonal drink menu. We were lucky to be there on a night when they had live piano music to set a very nice mood. Everything is made on the grill so expect to get enjoyable bbq flavours. Although I didnt get to try, they have a large selection of burgers. If you can find parking, which is free after 6 and on weekends, you will have a good time!

The first time I went here I was not pleased with the burger being overcooked ( asked for medium and it was well done +). Response from staff was lackluster with informing the chef yet nothing was done about the meal or the bill. Decided to try another attempt at the burger and was not disappointed. Cooked perfectly and service was great. Hopefully my first visit was an abnormality. Ill be back to try again.

Went to Oscars with girlfriends on December 14 2019. The restaurant is very nice and the atmosphere is cozy. The menu however is quite limited with very little vegan options. Typically, servers will provide options on the menu that can be vegan adjusted. Unfortunately, the server was seemingly uninterested in providing options or asking the chef. The wine list is amazing. It s unfortunate that the food options are so limited because I would certainly frequent often

They have the best fish and chips. Light breading. Flakey fish and amazing fruit slaw. We also had Farfalle with salmon. It had roasted peppers, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, and spinach. Wonderful! Plus our waitress Sandy was the best!

Absolutely scrumptious! I went for dinner and shared their grilled meat plate for two with a friend. Four kinds of meat with coleslaw, vegetables and rice. Superb.

The Fuego Burger is probably the best burger Ive ever had in my entire life.... I came in they were going through a dinner rush and I still got my burger perfect and in a timely fashion... Five stars

Got the seafood fettuccini. So good. Delicious. Quiet environment. Great to meet people and chat (because you can hear them!). Great service. The wine list could include a few more wine variety options for wine by the glass. Unfortunately, it closes early at 10pm!

I always love going here. Food is always great and the servers polite. Absolutely love the Cumin Lentil soup!!

Be prepared to spend time here, while the food was exceptional (I had the steak cobb salad), it took us just shy of two hours and the meal had to be rushed in eating in order to make the concert in time. I will be back, but not when I have an engagement to go to afterwards...

I understand that restaurants get busy and sometimes customers can be overlooked. Unfortunately after we were seated, no one came over to take our drink or food order. After waiting for too long ( approx 15 minutes) it was time to go as it was obvious that either our server was not informed by the hostess that we were there or the # of people in the restaurant was too much to handle for the # of staff on hand. Ill go back but I have severe doubts the person I took their for the first time will return. Sometimes success comes as a cost. I truly hope the staff/management/owner will rectify this does not happen to other customers on a regular basis.

They hosted a party for 50 people for us. The staff were amazing, Mike did a great job helping us to create a set menu that pleased everyone and the piano man brought us all together with Joy! I highly recommend the El Fuego burger!

Terrible service. It was busy but not only were my guest and I ignored but once we seated ourselves at a table the waitress came over and agreed to clear the previous patrons dishes off our table but said she could not take our order cause we were not in her area. She took all the dirty dishes except two plates then left. Came back awhile later and took our order. We asked her to take the two plates she had left there and could she please wipe the table. She very snappily responded that the dishes hadn t been used and grabbed then and walked away with an oh so obvious eye roll. I don t think expecting a clean table and unused dishes is too much to expect when eating out. Needless to say we decided not to stay so cancelled our order. I am a Sudbury resident and have previously had a good experience at this establishment and really loved the food however this experience has soured my decision to return and I m sure the out of town guest I had with me will never go back again.

By far my favourite restaurant in Sudbury! Ive had many different things on the menu from the many times Ive visited and they were all delicious. My all time favourite is the Chicken Asiago Supreme, I wish I could eat it everyday. Great service and atmosphere, the live piano is such a great touch. You wont be disappointed!
