Tommy's Not Here in Sudbury

Salad and desert were tasty, my steak was less than average. Restaurant needs revamp.

Pasta was not edible with how saulty it was. Pork chop they cooked extremely well done and was beyond dry.

Another visit to Tommy s Not Here, another amazing experience! Food was delicious, service was impeccable. We went as a group of 5 and everyone was raving about their meals. My wife and I both got the veal chop, and substituted our sides for the ravioli dish. The ravioli is the best I ve ever had! Hands down the best place is town.

One of the best restaurants in Sudbury. Its a hidden gem. Every dish is spectacular! The atmosphere is perfect and the staff is always pleasant, professional, and courteous. Ive never licked a plate in public until Ive been to Tommys!

Great food. Excellent service. Friendly and inviting. A little small / crowded but not so much that it was a deal breaker in Amy way. Lighting also felt a bit too dim for my liking, but again not the end of the world.

2 thumbs up! Havent been here in awhile so I chose it tonight for a reunion of old family friends. We had a fabulous dinner, as always. Started off with a platter of their famous calamari to share with a nice Pinot. Yum. It was done to perfection with just enough zing. I kept it simple for my starter with the best caesar salad in Sudbury. Some serious garlic, huge hunks of fresh parm and crispy bacon done to perfection. For mains we all kept it simple with back ribs or steaks. Sometimes, the most familiar item is the most satisfying. We shared a taste of each others food. The ribs were falling off the bone. Portions were so generous, we got to take some home. The steaks were melt-in-your-mouth. Side veggies nicely done. A very simple meal done to perfection. Great value and excellent service with our man Jake, my buddy Chef Matt in the kitchen and overall a wonderful experience. I love this place. Highly recommended for any special event, or just when you feel like a treat. Tommys never disappoints. One of the best spots in Northern Ontario!

First time going to this restaurant since I moved back to Sudbury. It is one of the best places to dine in this area . The service was great, wonderful atmosphere and most importantly the food was superb. Highly recommended.

Definitely make a reservation otherwise theyll make you feel like youre inconveniencing them and offer to stuff you in a cold corner at the bar. I couldnt choose which seat at the bar I sat at because they needed to leave them open for people waiting for their table. As a walk-in it definitely didnt feel like I was invited and I was inconveniencing them with my presence so I left and went somewhere else. Looks really nice ambiance-wise except for the rug hanging above the kitchen door?? Kinda gross. Cant comment on the food because I didnt stay.

Went for a birthday dinner (first time there) and it was excellent. Server was awesome and super helpful with recommendations. It does feel like you re stepping back in time with the decor, but I guess this adds to the charm. Food/drinks are on the pricier side for Sudbury, but not outrageous. I felt like the quality of the service and food matched what we paid. Will definitely go back.

duck confit penne: the sauce is a perfect balance between sweet and savory and the green onions provide the perfect amount of bite to balance the richness of the sauce. The duck is very tender as you would expect. blueberry bread pudding with vanilla ice cream: great texture, makes you feel warm and cozy. Portion size is perfect. lighting is a little dim Live in the GTA but will be sure to come back anytime Im in the area.

Wonderful experience, as usual. The tables are well spaced, service was perfect, and the food divine. They accommodated dietary restrictions. I highly recommend a reservation for a Saturday night dinner. They run a tight ship, so patrons cannot linger if they have an early (5pm) reservation which is a reasonable expectation. I would return in a heart beat. Every time Ive eaten here, its been perfect.

First time trying TNH. Anniversary dinner. Had the pork chop. Nice and thick. Cooked to perfection. Very delicious! Definitely go back for the next special occasion. Parking: Parking is at the back of the building. Entrance to restaurant is downstairs at the streetside of the building.

This was our first visit, which wasnt exactly positive. Our waiter never checked up on us. We had to chase someone to get spoons for our soup, as well as salt and pepper. Half way through our meal, a different waiter asked if we wanted bread...we said yes but no one brought any. It wasnt busy so theres no excuses... Food was wonderful but the service was not!!

Sudburys best restaurant would rank high in any city. Their menu holds a great selection of must-haves including their famous mushroom ravioli and the best crème brûlé Ive had. Their staff is very knowledgeable and personable. Highly recommend placing a reservation to visit this gem, you wont regret it!

Dated decor. Service needs improving. Very lackadaisical and casual. Not fine dining or upscale. Online website, Photos, menu & description are very deceiving. Nothing stood out. Franchise pub feel. Ordinary. Was highly recommended and was excited to my visit but am sadly dissappointed. I always look forward to supporting local business, unfortunately I personally was not impressed at all.Will not return.

Consistent attention to detail in all aspects of the dining experience is evident in every visit! If you want a fabulous meal and to meet talented servers, Tommys Not Here is the place to go. It was our second time going to that restaurant. The food is the best also is the service. The atmosphere is perfect for a special occasion like anniversary or a romantic night on the town.

Casey and his staff always put on a 1st class presentation. The food was amazing, we had the veal along with appetizers. Casey also had a bottle of our favourite red wine open for us when we arrived. Tommys Not Here is an experience. You never leave disappointed or hungary. Highly recommend

I had high hopes! Evening started out great server was nice attentive. Quickly declined from there. We waited forever for our food then randomly our server was gone and no one was around for us I waited so long I wanted to get up and pay myself. Restaurant at this time was not busy. Food was great but creme brûlée s was burnt. Just writing an honest review here I m disappointed.

Deadly consistency with service and quality of food. We absolutely love coming here. The 2 hour window for seat time made us enjoy it even more. Wish Tommy was here...Id give him a double high five.

I went there today with friends. There is a fantastic menu with pretty good options of appetizers, main dishes, etc (I didnt pay attention on the dessert options). I ate a delicious Filet Mignon with smoked bacon surrounded it, with roasted potato and vegetables. There is a very good wine menu. I really indicate for you.

Excellent atmosphere, amazing wait staff, and absolutely amazing tasting food. Fantastic place for groups, or even date night. Theres a reason that Tommys Not Here is rated number 1 in Sudbury, and it deserves it for sure. Recommend you try the Maple baked brie appetizer!

Excellent food and service. I requested a vegan meal for 2 in advance and they delivered an amazing 4 course meal with 2 unique entrees. Best restaurant in Sudbury.

Love that the staff tailor their manor depending on the client. We are easy going people, who like to laugh and have a good beer. I always order the duck, its amazing, in fact, going there tomorrow!! See you soon!

Consistently delicious!

I was there on March 23rd and had a lovely dinner with friends. We didnt have a reservation but luckily there was one table in the middle of the dining room available and it was just fine. The atmosphere is nice, the wait staff really know their specials and my steak was cooked to perfection! Im giving 4 instead of 5 stars for the lack of female wait staff. Male servers earn a lot more on average than female servers and one of the reasons is because they get the best paid positions. I have been there a total of 3 times and Ive never seen a female waiter. Maybe Ive just been unlucky?

This restaurant is amazing! This is where I bring all my out of town clients when they are visiting as it never disappoints. The servers are all professional, knowledgeable, articulate, polite and I wouldnt change a thing. The food is second to none A+++

This was so delicious! Ive been past the restaurant a hundred times and never knew it was there. It was an absolutely delicious (and rich!) Dinner.

A small, intimate dining experience with a relaxing atmosphere and superb food. The cost of the food may be higher than most local venues but the quality and portion size is very much reflective of the price and so the value is still very high. Excellent wait staff and fantastic and attentive service. Try it out and you will not be disappointed. (reservations are highly recommended)

Easily one of the best places to eat in Sudbury. Tommys never disappoints. Servers are always excellent and very informed as to the ingredients being utilized in each dish as well as the cooking methods. I have never had a bad meal here and make it a point to go a few times a year. If you have never been to Tommys I highly recommend you call and make a reservation. You wont be disappointed.

The first time Ive been to Tommys, the experience was unbelievable. The staff was very friendly, they did a excellent job of making sure we were taken care of while keeping a distance as to not interrupt. Great suggestions on food and drinks, also prepared us a very nice table. Very relaxed and quiet atmosphere. It had to have been the pasta dish Ive ever had with a well sized portion.

Just the best dining experience you could ask for in Sudbury. The service was on point. The ambiance and the food couldn t have been better. I mean, it s far from cheap, but you get what you pay for. Our server was Jake, and he was knowledgeable as heck. He even taught us a thing or two about wine.

While Im in the mood for some honest reviews ....this place is a solid 5 star...absolutely nothing to negate a 200 dollar meal... One of my all time fave establisments

Best place in Sudbury for dinner.

My wife and I visited Tommys and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our dinners were absolutely delicious - I had the cod - perfectly prepared, moist, flaky with a variety of vegetables, while my wife had the Veal Alpini, which was also very tasty. The food presentation was beautiful, and the service was impeccable: very personable, attentive and very fast. Some might say the prices are high but for me, I would consider Tommys a fine dining restaurant and worth it (though i didnt think that they were unreasonable). The restaurant was busy so reservations are recommended.

Great food and fantastic service in an atmospheric setting. The only downside (which might not even matter to some) is that the food is VERY rich and heavy. It seemed like there may have been some overuse of sauce on both the pork chop and ravioli. Other than that, loved it!

Great meal and the usual great service

This was our first time at Tommys. We had the beef carpaccio and calamari. Our server made us our favourite drinks that werent even on the menu, at our request; he makes a mean negroni! The service was even better than the food- much more outstanding and memorable. Atmosphere was great :) We likely had the worst table in the house due to not reserving a table, and still felt like we had privacy and a great little nook. We will return.

A really small but outstanding restaurant with a very interesting name. The ambience is a bit too dark in my opinion. However, the food is of the highest quality and highly recommended for anyone staying near Sudbury. The restaurant is located in the basement and exudes a romantic atmosphere. Of course its priced at a higher level, but in return you also get an appropriate culinary journey, which is what the restaurant advertises from the outside. Absolutely recommended!

Had it 3 times there and not great. Not flavourful and boring. So, skip the fish. Youll have a great experience otherwise. Tip, make reservations. Its a small place and full even on a week day.

Perfectly executed veal chop bone in. Portobello mushroom appetiser with goat cheese and a sliver of tender beef. Attentive service and a nice cozy atmosphere. Reservations strongly suggested. The restaurant was very busy for Tuesday night. This establishment is not inexpensive, but the portions and quality are there.

For Sudbury I can see why this is ranked so high...but compared to a proper restaurant this place is garbage. If you appreciate and expect quality food dont waste your time here. Service was nice, the atmosphere was ok but the food was less than awesome. Bread was stale, Calamari was smelly, brushcetta was from Costco and the Ravioli/Sauce was not made in house. You could tell this restaurant was born from canned ingredients and continues to run this way. We will not be returning...hopefully there is better Italian places to eat in Sudbury.
