Zias Stonehouse Restaurant in Summerland

I added my first review of this restaurant on TripAdvisor, but they don t let me review the same place in the same month for my second visit here so I am now reviewing on Google as well. I find it rare, that I can be even more impressed on a second visit to a place that I recommend to others. I was blown away yet again by the service, the food, and the ambiance of this restaurant. My first visit was an unexpected find during the Summerland light up evening. It was such an amazing experience with the live piano music and the outstanding food and service, that I just had to bring my parents back when they were visiting Penticton. Sarah was our server the second time, and she was so personable. I didn t think that I could have had an experience even better than my first visit, but this again was off the charts. I will absolutely be bringing every visitor to Penticton to this restaurant in Summerland. Thank you so much Sarah and the beautiful hostess, who again fit us in last minute. The food was phenomenal, and just the whole experience is one of the best I have had in ages, and I eat out a lot with all of my travel. This is in my top 10 restaurants of those I have ever experienced for all categories of service ambience, value for dollar, quality, and an overall great place to dine. Thank you so much again! Parking: Free open parking including handi-capable designated spots and wheelchair ramp.

We were here on the 20th for our Anniversary and had an amazing meal, great service and very enjoyable atmosphere. We will highly recommend here, and say that we will definitely make Zias the place to go to. Job well done !!!

Somehow Zias can keep their prices FAIR while so many are ripping us off.. Thus, they are usually very steady. Their food is amazing and well made. Services is always friendly and polite. Portions are decent. Highly recommend!!!

This is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere and we always make a point to stop here when we are in Summerland. The food is always so flavorful, the prices are very reasonable, the staff so friendly and I love the ambiance and decor, it feels so cozy. Perfect for date night or a celebration dinner!

Oh my, don t get me started! My friends and I celebrate at least four birthdays in Zia every year ! Best prime rib in the Okanogan Valley ! Nothing like feeling like you just stopped by grandma s house for a big roast beef dinner ! The building is a historical monument ! Being that it was a home at one time it s no wonder you feel like you re at home when you go in and join them for a meal !!! How about this? Yum . Pretty much covers it all.! Vegetarian options: I don t understand vegetarians but if you must be one then yes you re not going to go hungry here they have something for everybody! Dietary restrictions: Talk to your server they d be more than happy to help you out! Parking: There s probably more parking spots than there. Is people allowed in the business at any given time.! Kid-friendliness: It s a historical home of course it s kid friendly! Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp from the parking lot right to the front door!

I have been a Zia s patron for over 14 years and until today have never been disappointed. One of their specials today was a Smash Burger. It was disgusting. The beef burger was way overcooked and dry and it was smothered in a garish yellow sauce. Very unappetizing and extremely messy. to the kitchen for this item

Omg outstanding!!! We had the classic platter and we devoured that plate and if we had the appetite we would order it all over again! Started off with the Caesar salad which is hands down best we have ever had. The vibe and service are outstanding as well. Whether your local you re just visiting, you need to eat here!!!!

As a group we go here for our wrap up dinner and we are never disappointed. The staff is so nice, they take care of us and make sure we are happy. The Peach City Beach Cruise directors thank you for another wonderful dinner.

I was told to stop for lunch and very glad I did. I love trying hamburgers most places I go and it was delicious. One of the best I ever had in a long time. I will make sure to add this as a regular stop when I m in the area. Sorry I forgot the fries are just as good.

We loved this place

The steak was not thick and was not tender. The server seemed frazzled. He stepped on my toe. When I told him, he ignored my and didnt apologize.

Food was great. I ordered medium rare steak and my daughter ordered cheese pizza. My husband ordered fried vege roles(forgot the fancy name) from lunch menu. Everything was cooked perfect. The Bellini could be better I would say. It takes like a little blunt like sugar water.

OK, had an excellent experience at Zia s on March 10, 2024 and found that the last review I tried to post was not posted, so I m going to put both of them here now. Here s the review that didn t get posted, I don t recall when we were here, late 2023 probably This is really a gem of a restaurant located in the Okanagan, right in the middle of Summerland. We ve never been disappointed with our food here. Today we enjoyed a salmon Wellington, and a chicken and shrimp dish. Just very tasty, moist meat cooked just right. It s funny, I will typically take pictures of the food before I touch it, but today the pictures speak for themselves just how tasty the meals were. Thank you, Zia s. Now March 10, 2024 review Yet another fantastic dining experience at Zias Stonehouse. For the first time, though we ordered a meal designed for a couple to share. Because it was my partners birthday and we wanted something special, we opted for this choice. My goodness, just look at the pictures... After a fun filled day, exploring the region and visiting some wineries for some tastings; to cap it all off with an excellent meal at this unique family restaurant, it was a treat. Highly recommend this restaurant, its a 60 second drive off the main highway. Friendly staff, excellent food, in a warm, welcoming home-like environment, what more could you ask for?

Was really let down, waitress we had was short with us. We had questions regarding the menu as we were told this was a Greek restaurant ex:) asked for chicken souvlaki - was told they only serve this item at special times. We ordered tzatziki - was runny. Hummus just had a pool of oil in the middle not appetizing & was also very bland. Calamari was just the rounds of calamari - fried dark brown. Enjoyed the coconut prawns, but there was only 4 so two each. I heard this was a great Greek restaurant but after this visit I don t think it is. Great restaurant to sit & look at the ambiance.. food could improve.

Summerland is the Okanagans hidden gem. Zias is the crown jewel of eating in Summerland. I have been here many times over the years and the food is the kind of quality of a large city fine dining establishment. The veggies are always fresh and tasteful. The meat and sauces are succulent. Great food at a price that doesnt break the budget. Charming atmosphere in a repurposed stone house.

Amazing food and good service but disappointing ending to the night when our waiter got very rude about the tip he was given. There was no apology from him after we corrected the tip due to a payment misunderstanding as it was a split bill.

What a hidden gem. Please advertise on the highway so people pull off to find this place. VERY reasonable prices, I mean VERY! Excellent service, great atmosphere. You need to attract the young crowd. Parking: Not a problem! Room for everyone.

Wonderful, magnificent experience

Lets start with the good stuff. The atmosphere is beautiful. Its an old stone house, with chandeliers and bright decor, and it just feels very homey and comfortable. The plants are huge and amazing, and the overall esthetic is lovely, warm, and inviting. It can be great for a casual evening or just as good for a more formal occasion that needs that extra ambiance. We loved the live piano performance. We were greeted by the owner, with a smile, and when we left, she was at the door with thanks and pleasantries, which we found to be a nice touch. The service wasnt so impressive. To be charitable, perhaps our server was having a rough day because she didnt seem too focused or too pleasant. She came to us when needed, but never with a smile, and quite distracted and curt. To be completely honest, it was a bit awkward, bordering on uncomfortable, which was below our expectations, given the rave reviews on Facebook. We were having a casual evening and cravings for a great burger or salad or fresh chicken strips. Turns out the chicken strips are not freshly made, and the burger was ok, but quite greasy and barely seasoned. Not bad, but disappointing. Happy to say the Ceasar salad was fresh, the beet salad was quite nice, and the fries were close to perfect- we had the yam fries which were crispy on the outside and beautifully soft on the inside. Perfect. The brie pastry appetizer left us wondering where the cheese was. Also, they were greasy and overdone. The hummus appetizer was quite ordinary, though the pita bread was soft, warm, and tasty. Well try again, but next time, well be sure to ask our server what the specialties are. Maybe the pastas or entrees are better. We are giving 4 stars, but in all honesty, we think 3.5 would be a more fair assessment. Its hard to judge on only one visit, though, so in a few months, well give it another go. One thing for sure is that the prices are reasonable, so there are no complaints there. All in all, the atmosphere was nice , but the service and food, while not bad, was definitely disappointing.

A party of 4 adults had supper there Saturday nite. Had reservations... ordered 4 prime rib dinners... plus salads, and wine. It was busy- took an hour to get our dinner... prime rib arrived. Tough and sliced so thin, it was definately not a 8 oz serving. We were so hungry, had spent an hour waiting, so we ate it anyway.. super dissappointing, especially seeing we were expecting a great super from all the posted reviews. Ordered rare, got medium, will not spend 200 bucks there again...

Valentines Day was our first time here and it was amazing. We did not have a reservation but a table was found for us. It was very busy but yet the service was still great and the food was excellent. The atmosphere also made the evening, pleasant music, then beautiful piano playing. The decor is warm and inviting. Strangers were chatting with tables next to them, including ourselves. It was a wonderful dining experience. We will be going back again and again. We recommend everyone dine here.

We went for my parents 55th anniversary today. The restaurant was packed when we got in at our reservation time and our service was very organized and timely. Our food as a group came out all at the same time and hot. The portions were perfect. The desert was impeccable. Well done team!

An old stone house turned into a restaurant. It also is reported to be haunted by two male gjosts. I took a star away from atmosphere because the no ghost showedup. Seasonal outside dining is available. Good menu selection with mid to high prices. Open for lunch and dinner. I had a nice craft beer with the meal and my companion had a glass of wine. Parking: Behind restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Saw while chair customer on restaurant.

What a great place! Probably one of the greatest places I ever eaten. We were visiting from Ontario and went for our finally dinner. We had an amazing time.we met the owner and her grand baby. I highly recommend eating here if you have the chance!

This has always been a favorite restaurant my parents took me to when I came to visit them in British Columbia. I had the French onion soup it was absolutely amazing never tasted anything better. Very filling. Parking: Does have handicap parking and a ramp to access building Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp into building and special parking for handicap tag holders

I loved it. The food and service was absolutely amazing! I got the fettuccine Alfredo with prawns and everything was cooked perfectly. Perfect amount of sauce, came out hot, and tasted homemade. The server gave me a couple of recommendations for wine and brought tastes of them in the cute little glasses in the picture. I will be returning myself and recommending Zias to all my friends. Hidden gem!! Delicious wrap with outstanding fries! Grilled chicken and brie also delicious. Im lucky they dont make fries like this from where Im from... Loved the stone building and ambience. Wish I lived closer to come frequently. Parking: No problem getting parking.

What a beautiful setting. Mediterranean/Tuscany feel for decor, gorgeous Stonehouse, interesting history behind it. The food-WOW. Pretty much the best Greek salad ever. We had prime rib, escargot-fantastic. Friends had shrimp & chicken , brushetta & linguini-all great. Service top notch, very attentive. Next visit will be on thier gorgeous patio. We missed out on the live entertainment that was arriving. Definately will return to try more on thier menu. Oh, make reservations, just in case. Parking: if you drive a car, no issues at all.

Lovely location for an evening out in peaceful Summerland. Good food, excellent service, and the outdoor seating is a gem on a warm summer evening. Indoor seat is great too. Two different dining experiences in one place. Definitely recommend.

The patio is lovely with an old world feel covered in grape vines. Food was excellent with a good selection of wine and beer. We had the feast for 2 which had a selection of grilled meats all of which were excellent. Service was ok, although our server did forget to bring us an appetizer and a coffee we ordered with dessert.

A wonderful experience!! The restaurant is quaint and so inviting, luxurious, but oh so cozy and comfy! The food was fantastic ...we were a party of four and everyone was super happy with what we ordered!! We will definitely go back a few times while we winter in the Okanagan again.

The food was good, but our waitress Cindy made us feel rushed. She approached us and asked if read the special board, then asked what we wanted to order. We said we weren t ready yet and she hastily walked away. When she came back, she didn t bother to ask for drink orders first. I gave her my order including a glass of wine and she only asked my husband AFTER he ordered his dinner. Once the meals were served, she didn t come back to ask if everything tasted OK. Overall, it was not a good experience for us.

I am giving you a 4 stars for my dinner. I had the steak Madagascar which was a 5 star meal. My husband had the steak sandwich. He rated it no more than a 2 star. It was a thin piece of meat with lots of gristle in it. Asked for medium rare but the meat was so thin it was more well done. Atmosphere was very pleasant, our server was outstanding. Would we go again, yes but do not order the steak sandwich
