Ordered butter chicken. The lid wasn t put on properly, butter chicken sauce spilled all over the inside of the bag.

Excellent Food with best of service and environment. Server was so good, despite being busy. She took the time to explain dishes and quantities to order. We ordered Chicken korma with garlic naan. The gravy was creamy and delicious. Would love to bring my family now.

Amazing Ambiance, Fantastic Food, and Excellent Service! I recently dined at Clove and it was an incredible experience! The ambiance is absolutely stunning a perfect blend of traditional Indian decor with modern touches that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. From the elegant lighting to the beautiful artwork, every detail is thoughtfully designed. The food was beyond delicious! Each dish was bursting with authentic flavors, and the variety on the menu catered to both traditional Indian tastes and contemporary fusion options. The curries were rich and flavorful, and the naan was perfectly soft and fresh. It was clear that the ingredients were of high quality and prepared with care. Appreciate that. To top it all off, the service was impeccable. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made great recommendations and ensured we were comfortable throughout our meal.

Very bad experience! We went there by 9pm, starving! Had yo wait there for 45 mins, we still did wait! At 9.45, we got a table of 2. Waited for another 15 mins, no one attended us!!! Didn t even place water on the table, whereas people who came after us (group of 6+ folks) got the table before us and got the food as well!!!!

I had heard really nice things about this place and went there very excited but the service really disappointed me. When we reached we asked the hostess if they had an open table and she said no, not even telling us when they would have one available as if she just wanted us to leave. Then we inquired about the wait time and we were initially told it s a 20 minute waiting and we said okay no worries - although we were starving. Cut too 50 minutes later and still no table has been given to us. When we asked the hostess she straight up said what can I do if other people are not leaving ? I cannot ask them to leave now can I ? Excuse me ?! Wdym what can you do ? If you had just been honest we would have left and not wasted 50 minutes starving. After that we finally got seated. It took the servers half an hour to give us water and menus. We literally had to request for it twice. After the order was placed we waited quite a while for the drinks menu which was never given to us and after it was given no one asked us what drinks we would like to order! The food came and it was the only highlight of the day. The soya chaap, tandoori chicken, paneer kofta, chicken do pyaza were the only things that I liked about this whole experience. After we got our food no one came to check on us and ask us how our food was tasting if we want anything else of not. And to think they advertise themselves as a fine dine this was the least they could do after the experience we had. In the end no one even asked us for dessert they asked us if we wanted the bill. They really were in a hurry for us to leave I guess and if that s the case don t open a restaurant where you know people will come to eat and have a good time. Usually I m never quick to judge a place because ofcourse restaurants have odd days when it gets busy unexpectedly. But the behaviour of the staff from the get go was just so rude and unprofessional never visiting again no recommending other people to visit. 0/10. One of my worst restaurant experiences in BC

The naan bread was very thin, almost like chips. Additionally, the woman who welcomed us kept staring at my family the entire time we were there, which felt unsettling. However, the rest of the food was good, and the tea was particularly excellent.

Excellent meal, some of the best Indian cuisine weve enjoyed. Service and atmosphere are refined and welcoming. Started with some fine cocktails and assorted Papad. Benarsi Dum Aloo and Afgani Lamb Masala were both delicious and unique. And their version on Kesat Kheer is not to be missed. Very reasonable prices.n

2024Oct27 - We were there for Lunch, being Sunday there was no Thalie s so we had Street Food Combo & Mutton Afghani with Nan. Food was very flavourful, delicious & served piping hot. Portions were good & our server Noor was smart, good & helpful. As it was Divali season they offered all their guests 20% discount which was a very good gesture. One disappointing thing we learnt was that they have changed their timings. The restaurant is closed from MON-THU for lunch. It opens only at 04:00pm for happy hours & dinner. Suggest & request the management to extend the Thalie availability on all three days FRI-SUN when open in the afternoon & nights. 2024Aug23 - Visited Clove Restaurant for Lunch. We had Veg-Thalie #2 & Non-veg Thalie #2. Food was very flavourful, delicious & served piping hot. Portions were good, & our server Penny & a Young girl working during her school holidays were good & helpful. Chef Sanjeev has put in lot of efforts in maintaining the flavours of the food. 2024May3 - Visited Clove Restaurant for Lunch. We had Paneer Pasanda with Nan & Non-veg Thalie #2 recently introduced. Food was very flavourful, delicious & served piping hot. Portions were good, & our server Ms Spirch was good & helpful. Disappointing thing was they only provide chicken thighs no other cut of chicken like breast. Hopefully the management introduces chicken breast as a choice if one prefers to have it.

I started working at this restaurant hoping it would be a better place than the typical Indian restaurants I ve encountered, but unfortunately, that wasn t the case. During my first week, I learned from my coworkers that we don t get paid on time, and often with little or no explanation. One of the employees hadn t been paid for nearly four months. Despite the manager s promises that they take care of their staff, that hasn t been my experience at all. I wouldn t recommend working here or dining at this restaurant. I genuinely hope they address these issues before they face serious consequences, like being shut down by WorkSafe.

Went on a weekday for dinner. The service was friendly and fast.The ambience was good though nothing out of the world.But the food was far from both and the art of dining tag. Sea food Moilee: not even close to the original Kerala style Moilee. A rain of mustard, not creamy and a very bad choice of fish in it. The gravy was not the rich coconut based like in the actual Kerala style Moilee. I regret paying the price 27 cad for this. But i can understand why non south Indians love this even though it is far from the actual dish coz of no reference. Andhra Chicken: yet another average chicken curry leaning heavily to the coriander side and missing the actual kick of Andhra spices. Naan and rotis: were good and cheaper than other places A mango mocktail :decent ,though didnt do justice to the effort in presenting.The mango component tasted like frooti Carrot halwa: nothing out of the world .felt like a fitness focused dessert with less sugar and less ghee and an uncommon consistency.But presentation was good. Might hit back one last time to taste the North Indian dishes to see what all the hype is about

I am not usually the one to complain but this was a very very bad experience. It may say art of dining but there is not customer service whatsoever. I have been coming to this restaurant for last year but this time it was very unpleasant experience. I think they changed their chef recently as their food has gone down the drain. Taste and portions both were unacceptable. I even told the server who couldnt care less, said she will tell the kitchen but never even apologized. We even tried to ask the manager to come over but manager couldnt even be spotted in the restaurant let alone checking on guests. All in all, I have made almost 15 visits in last 1 year but I will never be back because of food and service we got.

I used to love this restaurant for new delhi butter chicken and their ambience, but I wouldn t expect this kind of management from the team , So i placed an order on uber eats and it tasted so so bad this time , idk what happened the gravy is so sour and overcooked and chicken is so chewy and i was surprised to see that the team told me that they can t do anything with order placed by uber eats and i told them i can bring the chicken to the restaurant as i live across the street , but they told me that you have to go through a process and complain uber eats for this order and i did that and uber eats told me that this is a pick up order so restaurant is responsible for it! JUST TO GIVE A HEADS UP , PLEASE DON T RISK WITH YOUR HEALTH. Restaurant was super happy to say that they can t do anything for this order.

We had a wonderful experience, food was amazing, service great! They sent us home without the right leftover food by accident. 3 people came with different bags to the table and there was a mix up in the back. They were perfectly happy to make it up to us with a discount in our next visit.

Takeout order on Sept 8, 2024 We had some out of country guests so thought to order from a Fine Dining restaurant. We ordered 2 goat curry dishes, one butter chicken and 2 veg dishes plus garlic nans. Let me tell the only thing that was good were the nans. Our guests didn t even touch paneer and goat curly dishes. Butter chicken snd daal were okay. It appeared that the order was prepared in a rush. It could have been leftovers. We have been to this restaurant when it first opened and it was not bad. I was told by some friends that the quality of the food is not good anymore but I still wanted to give it a shot but NEVER again as it was rather embarrassing moment in front of our guests.

Quantity is quite less of sabji, didn t get quantity as per the order.

Michelle the host was very attentive and got us a great table. Govind, our server, provided professional service. This is now our favourite place for lamb dum biryani. I have recommended this place for my South Asian friends. We will go back to try Surrey Mess on the dessert menu.

I had the absolute pleasure of ordering from Clove. I got two butter chickens delivered. I must say for a dish so common, how can you get it so wrong? The chicken pieces were leg pieces instead of wing, so the meat texture was off. A cost cutting tactic. I don t understand how it s considered a fine dining restaurant; it s more like a mediocre takeout joint pretending to be something it s not. The presentation was lackluster, and the flavors were disappointing. For the price, I expected a much higher quality dish. Unfortunately, Clove did not meet those expectations, and I doubt Ill be ordering from there again.

Ah! I loved the vibe of the place. Bubbling with energy. The staff was quick seeing how full it was. Most of the food was quite delicious , lots of different flavours all mixed together is such harmony .Was worth it.

This is the best restaurant in town, surpassing even Tasty in flavor. Their chicken dishes, including butter chicken and Andhra chicken, deliver a truly authentic taste. The cocktail menu is exceptional but expensive . The breads and desserts, such as the kesar kheer, are delightful and offered at great prices. I ve never experienced such incredibly tasty food with such exceptional ambiance and value anywhere in Surrey, Vancouver. Its a must-visit!

Its not fine dine at all the food is good but the service is terrible. It was not busy at all but still the service was very bad . The servers were the worst .

Ordered food through Uber eats on a buy 1 get 1 free offer. When the final order was placed, it only showed 1 item instead of buy 1 get 1. Called Clove to confirm, they said to they have no such offers and I can cancel the order. When I cancelled, Uber said the restaurant outright denied that they advised me to cancel when they called the restaurant to verify cancellation. I called back the restaurant and was met with disturbing and disgusting behaviour. The guy boasted about how it s a 5 star restaurant and he doesn t care about what I think. When asked for his name he said I don t have a name jackass . This incident happened Saturday, July 6th. The phone call took place around 2:30-3:00pm. This was very disrespectful and shocking behaviour from a CSR. Restaurant management should pay much more attention about how their employees are providing exceptional customer service . Absolutely disappointing.

One of the better, comfortable and newer Indian cuisine restaurants in South Surrey with very eager to please staff and a culinary team which believes in sending out dishes which are presentable! We had been there for some snacks and tea and found the place relatively empty. But, having said that - I am sure that the evenings would be absolutely busy with people awaiting their turn at the entrance. The snacks ordered by us were tasty, the serve sizes were acceptable and the presentation was great (when you compare it with other restaurants in Surrey).

I had ordered kadai paneer on uber . But this was raw gravy no taste. I never tasted such insipid kadai paneer in my life. As i had heard from my friends that their food is not tasty n waste of money they literally proved it today. We adjusted spice and cooked more as it was raw in taste. i order uber eat food Amritsari kulcha from this restaurant, when my family open food inside we found only kulcha and chana thats it no separate salad or no sausage , just aw formality s ,only 3 spoons chana in one cart, disgusting food when we taste food after that we garbage food , Don t waste money

Starting with the first impression you ll get right when you enter , you are greeted with a very welcome smile of the host . The gorgeous lighting and decor will just wow you . We were walked to your table and cause we knew what we wanted to drink she took quickly our order . We looked around and admired the nice setting , the beautiful bar and specially the very enjoyable music . The drinks came fast served with friendly smile . The very delicious food was served also with a very nice smile , which we really appreciated . The singer was such a nice person , my hubby had a wish to sing with him and he agreed happily, so sweet of him . We had also a very tasty dessert prepared by the host at the table . All together it was such a beautiful experience in that beautiful place with all the very nice people working there . Thank you all very much

Went here for Mothers day dinner for a large family group. The place was very busy with loud live music. We had pre-booked and told them the number of seats. Our table was short of seats and server said they dont have any spares. He said theyll have to wait til a table empties before they could get us another chair. We adjusted ourselves into the seating that was available and no chair arrived during our dining time there. The food arrived without any serving utensils. Everyone had to use their own spoons to serve. Lots of employees stand around avoiding eye contact. The proverbial cherry on the cake was getting metal shards in my food. While eating chanas, I felt a sharp item in my bite which felt like plastic. Upon removing it from my mouth and inspecting it, I found out that it was a 4 inch metal shaving likely from a can opener. It was jagged and sharp and would definitely cause damage if swallowed. We had small children with us who were served the same food and could have potentially swallowed the metal shards or wire. The server was at our table and I immediately notified her. The manager offered a gift card for this inconvenience. Her excuse was that this has never happened before and that the kitchen was busy. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially on busy days when there is potential of getting metal shards / wires. I have attached photos and you can see it is almost as long as the gift card. I will not be returning to this restaurant and will not be using this gift card.

Great service and good food. The restaurant it self has great ambience and higher quality. We loved their cocktails and the smoke presentation of them is very high end . The virgin blue Caribbean was the best.

I think they have spent money on the interior and food names .. who gives paneer pakora with gravy and name it paneer pasanda .. very disappointed with the food and because everything else was pretty average ..

This was our first visit to this restaurant, although it has been open for a while. We like conventional Indian food, but this was a step above! I did not recognise the dishes, but everything we had was excellent. The service was fast and helpful. Highly recommended!

May 6, 2024. A year after my last review. I ordered through Uber eats again. The added picture will show you the quantity that they sent me, which I think is ok for 1 person maybe. Waste of money considering it was a $20 dish. And the food was quite spicy. No one at home liked the food. In my opinion, you all should spend your money elsewhere. This restaurant looks good inside and that s the only thing good about it. Bad service, expensive and not that great food. On top of it, you can see the management s attitude by the responses you would read on other reviews. - Update: though this is one of my fav Indian restaurants in Surrey, my last 2 orders were not good. The rara gosht was not chewable to a point where it couldn t be eaten. When I called them about it; they took absolutely no accountability for it. $30 for a dish whose main ingredient couldn t be eaten. Old review: We ve been here twice now and tried all the appetizers and several different drinks. We had to sit at the bar coz the place was full and I dint make a reservation earlier. However, the bartender Harsha was great and so was the food. I m really impressed with their food and quality of service. It s a little on the pricy side, but the extra $$ is for the experience. Great job guys! We will visit soon again.

Tasteless food with very less quantity.

The food was good. But veg and non beg thalis are only available on weekdays. The presentation was good. Drinks were good. Its a good place if you wish to have a group dining too. Reasonable prices and quantity is good enough. Recommended to visit if you are looking for indian cuisine.

I ordered food on uber and the containers came half full! I called up Clove Restaurant and they said, its not their issue so go talk to Uber. Its the Restaurant that never gave enough food so how is that Ubers issue???? Very cheap Restaurant and unprofessional when i called them. My family & friends arent ever ordering from them again.

Long overdue review! From the moment you enter this restaurant, you will experience quality, refinement and service. Our server Tarun was excellent, friendly and very professional. A pleasure to see such great staff! Our meal was tasteful, no overpowering spices but delicately flavoured dishes. They also had a musician playing Hindi songs at an unobtrusive level. In all a great dining experience, setting this restaurant head and shoulders apart from most of its competitors.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to. The food and atmosphere is amazing and the staff are friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Indian food.

Wow!!! What an amazing birthday evening I had at clove.. customer service was amazing they made sure everything was perfect and they took care of all the little details. Food and drinks were amazing. Clove is my go-to recommendation for dine in options whenever folks ask me for the best Indian food restaurant to eat at in Surrey. I ve been here 4 times already and it has held up to the mark each time. The decor is tasteful and elegant. Music and ambience is well crafted and curated. And ofcourse the food is to die for! You can never go wrong with any of their dishes or drinks. Their serving staff are always on point with their recommendations and service. The entire place is truly the result of attention paid to the finer details & an appreciation for the art of dining. Spriha (pretty sure I ve got that name wrong..sorry) served my table today and my friends and I were absolutely appreciative of her service & Ofcourse the consistency we continue to experience by way of quality & portions. The value for money cannot be overlooked either. A fantastic option for a fantastic price point. Keep up the good work. Some of my fav dishes include the beer dosa and chicken, butter chicken, peshwari naan & Surrey s mess. Vegetarian options: No dearth of these since it is an Indian restaurant. Parking: It s connected to a shopping center so free parking Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly with great attention paid to the one s requirements.

No flavours at all. Mushroom methi malai was made only in cream as if it s alfredo pasta. It has to be made in white gravy with cashewnut and onions. Rara ghost was nothing but meat cooked in canned tomato paste. Malai chaap was raw and completely bland from inside. Super expensive food with no taste at all. Moreover, they didn t even have the courtesy of sending their manager to the table even after seeing that the guest is not satisfied and they have charged me full bill even after knowing that the guest wasn t happy.

We ordered chicken tikka for starters n for mains we went for the garlic naan followed by paneer tikka n Amritsari chana.. the taste was really nice and the drink suggested by the hostess was just perfect for my palate. I m a happy and satisfied soul!! Almost forgot my kid ordered for a non alcoholic beverage and its presentation was as beautiful as the drink tasted!! Keep up the good work! Had to throw up all the food eaten. My wife and I will not be coming back here. Spent 90$ on 3 plates. Too expensive for cheap food. Street food is better Answer: Yes, I was there, reserved under wife s name.. We made reservation for a certain time, and had to wait to get table ready. Also waitress was really slow, we finished our water and no one even came by to fill as up. I wouldn t recommend this place.

We have 2 kids with us both are 5 and 6 years. They consider as adults and they chrage us gratuity.. i dont know how. I have questions for all guys. Is that right for clove . I am disappointed.

But to my taste buds, clove takes me back to delhi and now I dont miss delhi food . Clove serves the most delicious food in Greater Vancouver. Love the ambience and the service of the restaurant, it was excellent! We tried all types of Naan - cheese, garlic butter and original, all were fresh and tasty. I love their butter chicken as the chicken werent dry at all and were soft and spicy. We had seafood moilee and Afghani lamb masala with great spices aroma. I love that they were generous on the sauce so its good for dipping with naan. I will definitely go back again.

Went 6 p.m. Saturday 9 March w/ 3 friends. Lovely space, very good food, reasonable portions. Good service from Govind. Music was so loud we all had to shout -- could not hear the waiter! Asked repeatedly for the muisic to be lowered. To no avail. We spent $250, but left without dessert, after dinner drinks because we had headaches. Will order for take out, but never go back.

The fish pakora here is probably one of the best I ve ever had, however no onions or lemon wedges came with it. The butter chicken is not what I expected at all, they don t use chicken breast but thighs instead, what a mistake. Taste was ok but my stomach was hurting for two days. On top of all that, their prices are out of this world, this is definitely not fine dining, far from actually. Too many other options in Surrey, I would choose those.

Excellent service with friendly, informative, efficient staff. The Clove has very interesting presentation of cocktails - try the Purple Hue or Bird of Paradise. We all enjoyed our appetizers, mains and desserts. The only dish we weren t crazy about was the stuffed naan - too sweet and coconuty. They don t serve coffee but the chai tea is delicious. Also they have a very limited selection of beers.

Had an amazing experience at this restaurant. It was our first visit and the whole family enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Everything was good but the Service from Noor was top notch . She was very kind and very friendly with us. She definitely knows how to handle customers and make the experience more enjoyable. She knows all the aspects of member service and should be proud of her skills and knowledge. Her communication skills were excellent. I would advise the senior management to escalate her to the next level and give her what she deserves for her exceptional service. It s hard to find humble, hardworking and kind people these days. Unfortunate experience, upon reserving for a specific time we were told to wait for set up- lack of organization as we entered, food was not as expected, left the both of us feeling uneasy and instant upset stomach - I could not continue my dinning experience and rushed to vomit - the waiter was not very attentive to our needs. Overall the ambiance was great but food not at all. Please revise your dishes - felt like the food was sitting out for a while

A perfect fine dine experience like we have never experienced in British Columbia before. Ultimate food with no comparison or competition! We started the lovely evening while enjoying the positive ambience. The interior decor was like no other that we have seen here before. It reminds me of Hells Kitchen in Las Vegas! We started with 2 very unique mocktails and mouth watering appetizers that one may not have heard of before. It was an amazing, new, fresh experience. The main courses were top notch, superior quality and wonderfully presented. You must observe the presentation of the dishes! Each detail of the restaurant, food, and presentation were notably perfect! We will definitely go back again :)

The ambience and atmosphere of the place is great, made well and good vibe. The food however is quite disappointing. Very average and ordinary preparations. The staff tries very hard to give good service, but they keep checking in every 5 minutes, which then gets kind of annoying. Once the food is served, checking in once or twice is fine, not needed 6-7 times. Overall a very okay okay experience.
