Had takeout with friends. The lamb souvlaki was the best I ve tasted in years. Perfectly cooked lamb that was nice and juicy. The rice, potatoes, and Greek salad were also tasty. Our friends also spoke highly of the beef and chicken souvlaki. Overall, a fabulous takeout meal.

We used to go to this restaurant often, before moving to Guildford area. We felt like trying them out again, and were very happy as always with the service, the lovely atmosphere, and we were pleasantly surprised that although many restaurants have reduced their portion sizes, while at the same time increasing their prices, My Greek Taverna still offers a good portion at a fair price. We will be driving out to Newton in the future....so worth the drive. Also, Jeannie always remembers I dont take cucumbers in my greek salad, and she advised our waitress, Sophia (also great) before I even told her. Thanks Jeannie, for always making us feel special!!

This is my favourite Greek place but having just been there I m not sure if it s under new management and new cook the chicken was over done and not moist. The potatoes were not moist either. I will give it one more try.

Just came from The Greek Taverna and felt a review was in order. This was our first time to this restaurant and it definitely did not disappoint. The service was fantastic, Sofia our waitress was top notch. We ordered the spanakopita and moussaka portions were very generous, hot, fresh and tasty! To complete our experience we shared a delicious baklava. The biggest surprise was the bill excellent value. Would highly recommend a visit to The Greek Taverna

Was in the neighbourhood and was told that this was a great Greek restaurant. As I am partial to Greek food, I had to try it. Greeted nicely by staff, all very friendly. Sat down quickly which I like. Decided on the zucchini sticks, the moussaka, the calamari, and the chicken souvlaki. Portions are generous, had a lot of leftovers. My favourites are the zucchini sticks and the chicken souvlaki. Calamari too, was quite good. The server, Sofia, was amazing and I think one the best servers lve ever had. I would definitely return. My wife and I love this restaurant. It s kind funky set back a bit from the street and has a private feel about it. Any of the souvlakis are delicious. Our standard fare is chicken souvlaki. From the pita bread to the potatoe chicken n rice tasty and mouth watering. Only one thing I think could be improved is their coffee. Kinda weak with almost a hint of it being instant coffee, not sure, but I d like to see them kick it up a notch on that one. Other than that I give it a 5 star rating all around.

Our first time at My Greek Taverna. The service was great, The staff were very friendly. We had a large group, so the food came out a little slow, but we were ok with it as we were not in a hurry. The calamari appetizer is a wonderful portion size...definitely for sharing. The food came out hot and delicious. Every one of us really enjoyed our meals. We will definitely be going back!

The food was delicious, I dont eat out often, the food generally tastes the same, but this place was very good. Also, I have to mention our Server, Sophia, she was THE BEST server Ive had. She genuinely cares and spends time with her tables, Id highly recommend this place and I definitely will be back. Id highly recommend sitting in Sophias section if you can! I ordered Tarama today from this place for delivery , I think they are new owners , it was not even close to tasting the way it is supposed to . It was runny like soup and tasted like vinegar . I get very tired of people thinking customers are stupid and won t know the difference especially when they give poor excuses over the phone.

This was our favourite restaurant when we lived in N Delta. Went back when visiting and it is still an excellent place for Greek food.

My Greek Taverna in Surrey is the only place I would recommend you go to if you are craving Greek food. My son loves their Greek salad and their beef skewers are so tender and juicy (this is a must try!). Their shrimp skewers are always perfectly cooked. They consistently deliver the best dishes no matter what I order. The owners are very hands-on and youll always get a warm service when youre there. If youre looking to support local, theyre a family owned business youd be proud to have in your neighborhood.

We tried My Greek Taverna for the first time tonight and were both impressed. I had the chicken and beef souvlaki and my wife had the moussaka and both dishes were excellent. The portions were very large as well. Service was fast and friendly and prices were reasonable. Recommended.

Portions are huge! The food tastes great and is a clean environment. The lamb I got was sooooooooooo tender that I didnt even need to use the knife they had given me.

USED TO BE GOOD!!! Chicken was not freshly made at all, rice was hard like plastic...worst humus i have ever had...never will i go to this restaurant again! Dont like to leave reviews like this, but had to be done.

A little disappointed in the roast lamb. Google photos showed a larger portion but mine wasnt close. My guess was because we were with a group of like 10? Not sure, but 25$ for it felt like inflation

Ordered delivery through Ubereats. Its simply not worth the price. I am so disappointed in the portions. Beef souvlaki came with about 4 cups rice and everything else was just skimpy. 5 REALLY small bites of beef, a small HALF of a potato and less than 1/4 cup of greek salad. Its sad when youre trying to support local business and delivery drivers and you get ripped off. What I just received was NOT worth the menu price of $23 (BEFORE tax, delivery, tip and other fees).

It used to be great now it s so bad. The rice tastes off. The tzatziki was gelatinous? And no flavour. It didn t even stick to the pita. The moussaka was so bad. The only good was the potato.

It was my first time going with others whove been before. The food took a while to come out (30-40mins) but when it did everyone loved what they had. The calamari and potatoes were flavourful, the lamb was tender, and the chicken was cooked well too. The escargot cheese appetizer had a lot of cheese and was quite heavy/filling for an appetizer, would probably not get that again next time. Everyone I was with wondered aloud why its been so long since theyve been. Will definitely return!

Food was mediocre, don t confuse this location with the one in Coquitlam. This one has much smaller portions and isn t nearly as good.

My Kalamari was overcooked, therefore tasted like rubber bands. My hummus tasted weird and way too much garlic. The pita bread was good. Ekmek ( dessert) wasnt good, tasted like soft tofu. Very disappointed. Will not return

First timer. We always ate at another Surrey Greek eatery.Generally good but some changes of late. So I thought I d try the that hidden place that I go by all the time. Not expecting it to be as good as the other place. Full transparency , I m part Mediterranean .- I know great from okay. We got great. The server an attractive mid aged funny, service oriented person took my order over the phone. I went all out just from a curiosity point of view. Chicken Souvlaki seared just right but tender. Potato just lemony enough and not drenched. Rice was savoury and light. Dolmades had a lemon sauce I wasn t used to but made a great sop for the large portion of pita. Greek salad was the only disappointment- where s my kalamatas.. Over all a Great meal. Now I can t remember the name of the old fave . Going back. Taking folks with me. Good job MGT. SURREY. OH and the price was reasonable not that I look for deals when it comes to a satisfying meal which this was,.

The service was very slow ,we placed our order and waited for about 35 minutes before the Kalamari dinner came ,and my wife had to wait about another 10 minutes for her order to arrive , the kalamari was soft not crunchy and very blend. The worst experience weve had. The vege mousaka my wife ordered was blend and didnt taste good .When I asked the server if they had changed their chef ,she was very vague, I usually frequent this restaurant and Ive always had good experience here but this was the worst .

Went with some friends for a birthday celebration and the only thing that was truly tasty was the cake we brought from the grocery store our friends ordered the escargot which was a huge disappointment dry small.and just awful friend also had the lamb chops.and they were so dry she couldnt finish them the service was so slow no refills and thats Even including the alcohol we were drinking husband didnt mind the calamari he had with his dinner but since thats the only plus that we encountered we encourage others to go elsewhere and let this place naturally die on its own you cant stay in business when your this awful

We visited this place on a Sunday night. My partner and I moved from Greece to Vancouver 2 years ago and we were truly looking for a Greek restaurant to remind us of home. We orders Paidakia Sharas and Chicken Souvlaki and they were delicious. Especially the Paidakia portion brought a sweet memory from home. What was the best dish though, was the saganaki, so so tasteful. The portions were so big that we had to take some home too for lunch the next day. When it comes to service, our servers was such a positive person, smiling all the time and ensuring we are getting the best service. I highly recommend this place, not only as a costumer, but as a Greek person who knows exactly what Greek foods tastes like.

Best Greek food in the Lower Mainland.

It was a birthday dinner restaurant with friends on a Friday escargot was tiny and not worth it at app service was abysmal and we were even drinking dont waste your time

If I could give zero stars I would. For reference we were a party of five. Phoned at 6:50pm and asked if there were tables available and wait time, also advised that we are less than five minutes away. Got there and were seated instantly however the server did not acknowledge us for at least 15 minutes, didn t even give us water. There was only one server working the entire restaurant. We tried to order drinks from the cocktail menu and server advised that most mixes were unavailable. My brother ended up ordering a Long Island iced tea which was watered down. Mom (whose birthday we were celebrating) ordered rum and coke, again watered down and in a small glass. Sister ordered Spanish coffee, which she only took one sip of and left as it was not appealing. We ordered a lamb dish called Paidakia skaras and the meat so tough it wouldn t come off the bone. Chicken corfu dish was so dry that it couldn t be cut thru with a knife. Bakopita dish was barely eaten as it was unappetizing. Same with the Calamari dish, this was barely touched as it was so unappetizing, texture like rubber and soft, not how calamari should be. Lamb in the lamb souvlaki dish was so tough it couldn t be cut thru with a knife. All dishes came with roast potatoes however they had not been roasted, instead boiled in water and seasoned afterwards, easily identifiable as it could have been made into mashed potatoes, the crust was not crispy at all. All dishes also came with Greek salads and we noticed that there was only one olive per serving. All of the meat felt like it had been cooked a while ago and reheated upon ordering. Service was incredibly slow. We also noticed that a party of two arrived after us but received their meals before we did. Overall a terrible experience to say the least and definitely ruined our birthday celebrations and mood. I looked in the back to find the server and happened to notice there was only one person working in the kitchen. I ve never left a review on anything before however due to what we experienced I feel as though I have to warn people to not waste their money here. I don t understand why this restaurant has so many 4-5 stars. Definitely not worthy of any stars which is sad to say.

It s our favourite neighbourhood restaurant. Food is always hot and delicious. Great Moussaka, calamari and souvlaki s. The service is always good too! They always seat you promptly. My one gripe, a few more wines on their list!

Im going to have to give the place a 3 star. Food is amazing always fresh and good so that is a 5. They need to improve on salad alittle. But the older blonde lady serving isnt the best. Everytime Ive gone she seems annoyed while happy with others. Dont know why. While pickup asked my name said one minute. Went to a dine in table spent 10 mins talking while Im waiting. The younger lady that was serving out front was way better. Maybe its time to change some people around.

Garbage chicken souvlaki for the price, very salty and no flavor. Very little feta and too much onion in the salad. Bread was hard. I shouldve known better when I noticed Indians preparing GREEK food. If you want Greek, go to an authentic Greek restaurant. The cherry on top, they ask for tip for pick up, how does that make any sense? Will never return, youre welcome.

Take out This was the worst meal I have ever had. I ordered garlic butter prawns for my grandson & there was absolutely no garlic or butter to be seen. I had to add garlic & butter when I got the meal home. None of us enjoyed our meal which was too bad as it was for my husbands birthday. I ordered chicken souvlaki & it was dry. I will not recommend this restaurant. We tried this restaurant because our favourite restaurant was closed.

I called around 7:45 to make a reservation for 8 . They didn t even take my name and said yes we are open . When I got there and wait to be seated guess what the kitchen is close because it was slow . We had kids with us and I drove from Abbotsford. First and last time there .

ZERO STAR!!!! Closing time on Sunday is 9:30pm. Call in the restaurant at around 7:30pm to make a reservation for family for 8:00pm. Got there at 7:59pm exactly and I am told the kitchen is close because it s been too quiet today!! If you guys planned to close early you should have said so on the phone when I was making the reservation!! Or if that decision was made after my phone call, the least you could do is a courtesy call advising me so instead of waiting for me to show up with my family all to be turned away!!! And the lady at the check-in counter/cashier was the rudest ever, not the slightest bit of apology just the kitchen is closed now and then she just walked away on us to do her things!!

This was our dads choice for his 80th birthday dinner. The atmosphere is really nice, a cozy place to have a meal with family, friends, or even a date. Good was hot and tasty. My steak was done perfectly and everyone else had souvlaki, which they loved. I have seen people say the food was greasy or salty, and we certainly didnt find that. It was all very good. The place is very clean and the staff were all really friendly and efficient. Our food came quite quickly, although it was fairly busy and many of the servers stopped to wish dad a happy birthday. Thanks so much for a great evening!

I love Greek food and would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good meal. I have ordered leg of lamb. But by far the rack of lamb is to die for. This is my birthday meal this year. Oh the calamari is amazing as well.

Worst food ever. Greasy, bland, soggy kalamari, stringy, tasteless, dry lamb shoulder lacking all seasoning and sauce (yes, NO SAUCE of any sort) - main courses were left on the next table within a minute of our appetizers arriving! A thorough waste of money, and not cheap, either! I would give negative stars if I could!

Sad excuse for greek food. Married into a greek family, and been to a lot of greek restaurants. The potatoes were very bland, and VERY over cooked, dried up and chewy. Moussaka was also VERY over cooked, very dry, was difficult to eat I should have sent it all back.

A small, Quaint restaurant, with great food and excellent service. It feels very traditional Greek, with the types of dishes that you expect in such a restaurant. Portions were large, and very tasty! Definitely go again.

We ordered from here tonight - I generally always order chicken suvlaki when I get Greek, but tonight I tried something new. The salmon plaki and wow, was it tasty! The rice, potato, prawns and pita were all delicious as well. Will order again, I highly recommend.

We ordered the Salmon and Vegetarian Lasagna. The Salmon was on salty side. They add a butter cream that s really salty. The Lasagna only has cheese, tomato sauce and Lasagna. No Veg s. Great ambience

They were able to accommodate my food restrictions altering the Greek salad by not including tomatoes or cheese and putting the dressing on the side. I still had a full salad with chicken. It was delicious!

Food was delicious! I was brought here with a friend since I wanted Greek food and wow the lamb shoulder was SOO good. Also had some chicken souvlaki which was really good. Great portion sizes. The humus was good but i love garlic and feel it needed a little more. I still ate it up lol. Ill be returning very soon FOR SURE!

Calamari was lacking a little in flavor but was perfectly cooked. I got both the chicken and beef souvlaki... both were good, but not as good as the lamb that my cousin ordered. Salad was fresh, rice was average and the potatoes were very zesty. Our server was excellent. Very attentive and super nice.

We went last night for dinner to celebrate my husbands birthday. Even on the phone they were friendly. Our meal was delicious, it was attractively presented on fine, white china. Our server was very efficient and friendly and provided excellent attention to detail. Our host was also extremely pleasant stopping to chat and welcome us as newbies there. We will go back for sure. We are still talking about what a terrific meal we had and it was hours ago! Do not hesitate to try it. You will not be disappointed. For the person who commented on their pita bread we even thought it was the best pita we had eaten so that was unfortunate for them but certainly I cannot imagine it was not remedied.

Ordered from them Friday night. Regretted it upon arrival. The spanakopita went straight into the garbage. It was burnt and the inside dried out. Completely inedible. $10 thrown into the trash. The lamb was tough and very over cooked. Tzatziki had a mayonnaise taste to it. All in all a very disappointing meal.

Love this place and eat here regularly. We have even had My Greek cater some bigger family meals in the past. We mostly order the souvlaki and the portions are great for the price. We have never been disappointed with the chicken or the lamb - always tender and lots of it. The calamari is also really good. The staff are fantastic and always very friendly.

I ordered the George platter for 2 for my anniversary and I really wish I hadnt. The food is horrible. The calamari was tasteless, soggy, and tasted rubbery and cold, the chicken and beef souvlaki were dry and the tzatziki was oily and gross. The delivery driver had such a hard time finding my place so most of my food was cold. Such a shame I spent all this money just to throw most of it in the trash. I will never order from this place again. I wish I could give a half star.

Had two issues with my take out orders. Awful time trying to resolve the problem. Never had any issues with previous owners.

We ordered food from here and they forgot to give us half of the order (2 Greek salads and tazaki sauces). We called them and we were shocked by their response. The manager refused to drop off the remaining order and we only live 5 minutes away from the restaurant. My husband and I just got off work and picked up the food and there was no way we where going back. The only thing she offered was extra tazaki and extra salad on our next order. Really?? She failed to understand our frustration as our entire meal was ruined as we did not have any tazaki sauce. We paid over $50.00 for our meal. She even refused to give us a credit on our next meal. Anytime a restaurant has forgotten to give items from from a order they will offer a $25 or $50 credit. However in this case the manager refused to give us a credit. Our entire meal was ruined as we couldnt even eat the bread without tazaki sauce. Will not be ordering here ever again, this restaurant has the worst customer service then any restaurant Ive been to before.

Ordered take-out tonight as me and my husband wanted to get something different than your typical take-out options. We are also trying to support as many local businesses as we can during this time, so Greek food came to mind and we said why dont we order from the place up the street! I saw someone else post a positive review on a Facebook group about here as well, and Im so glad we went with the recommendation! We ordered Georges Platter for 2 and it was absolutely delicious! Prompt service as order was ready within 20 mins of calling, and everything was hot, fresh, and even calamari still crispy when we got back home. A very good portion size and selection for 2 people, we even ended up with some leftovers. Definitely will be ordering again in the future.

Best souvlaki dinner ever. One dinner feeds my son and I (add 1 skewer). Best tzatziki sauce! I have been there several times, and it always has been a quality-made, delicious treat. Highly recommend.

Poor, unkind and intimidating pick up service. Nat was impolite and rude while we were picking up food to go. Terrible experience. I let her know I didnt appreciate her tone as i was with my baby for pick up order. I left and waited for my order outside in parking lot. Nat followed me out to the back parking lot. This was truly uncalled for and majorly intimidating as i am with my baby. Asked for manager name which other staff deflected and didnt provide which made me write this google review. The location needs an overhaul in customer service training ASAP. Kindness goes a long way during a pandemic especially when there are other restaurants we could order from.

The food was amazing. Try the My Greek Platter. It is what I always eat and never have I ever been letdown.
