Traditional Korean restaurant , Korean Fried Chicken
This place is a hidden gem in Surrey!!! The decor is very authentic and it takes you right to Korea! The food is delicious and the portions are huge. There are parking spots right outside the restaurant. Highly recommend!
Canada No.1 Korean restaurant Very authentic and Super flavourful! I rarely leave reviews for Korean restaurants, but the exceptional quality here demands recognition. Among all the places I've tried, including those in Alberta and Quebec, this establishment stands out as the best. Each dish, whether it’s the bossam, jokbal, jeongol, tang, tonkatsu, or chicken, is prepared to perfection. The kimchi, in particular, is unparalleled, with the bossam kimchi being the highlight. The service is also outstanding, adding to the overall delightful dining experience. Having dined in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed it, I now frequently order through Uber Eats. This place comes with my highest recommendation. - JAL
We discovered this hidden gem for lunch yesterday and look forward to coming back more and trying more items on the menu. Their portions are big and the quality is noticeably good. The tonkatsu is huge (one person will probably not be able to finish it) with thick cut meat and great light but crispy breading. The spicy cold noodles were good too
This is the best korean style fried chicken in the area. I ordered the half and half of original chicken and yangneom chicken, aswell as tangsuyuk. Both were very crispy, and well seasoned. The sauce in the yangneom chicken was sweet and spicy, but not too overpowering. It paired really well with a classic bowl of hot white rice. Great staff, and huge portions, definitely worth the trip.
As a loyalty customer came to this location more than 10 times, this is the first time make me feel very disrespectful and so unwelcome. We came for dinner around 5 pm , our server( lady) took 15 minutes at least to provide the menu after we sat down. And after when she was delivering the plates and cutlery , she dropped all the cup and plates all over on it table and made an excuse as she had a tough day. We were trying to be understandable and said it’s okay. But what surprised me was her super disrespectful attitude. We were waited forever to receive our order until we came up to them to ask, but all we received was “ oh I forgot “ . Without any apologies! When waited for long time, she was delivering a dish for us, while she was shouting in Korean and say the dish is too smoking and turned away her face and after coughing nonstop in front of our food. ( Is that food safe ? ) We still try to enjoy our food as we already trust the food quality as always. After we try to order another soju, we had to came up to server to order because she never came to our table to check what we need , and after the order is placed, we were waiting for more than 30 minutes until we stood up and she realized she forgot our order also without any apologies. After when we were ready to pay and get our to go box because we were still eco- friendly, we also have to stood up to ask server for Togo box. She gave us wrong box for our soup hot pot without packing bag to carry. We were asking for bags , she only said “ I give u one “ in very rude way. I was asking for itemized receipts, she also said “ I give you “ inpolitely . No goodbye greetings as before. We felt so unwelcome this time, also the receipt was over charged for 3 to go bags as we only had 2. By the way, the picture shows the water cup is unclean and never been changed. I don’t know as owner you see this what you will feel about this dining room experience. We were so disappointed. The staff should be trained well enough.
Food was amazing - tasted so authentic and amazing. There was so much meat in both of the soups we ordered, and the soup was amazing. We loved the chicken - I really reccomendations Green Onion Chicken if you like crispy chicken 🐔. The Yukhoe was amazing and tasted so good. I reccomend trying it spicy if you ever feel adventurous because it was delectable. The service was also really great! The staff members were really respectful and helpful. They helped wrap up our food for us and even offered us a free cup of some soup! The staff members were very sweet and we would love to go again to see them all soon. The restaurant looks amazing inside - very clean and very well decorated. We loved the fact that they had some special seating areas and also some nice music playing. Korean music fans should come here to chow down while listening to great music. We WILL be returning some time soon!
Finding a good Korean restaurant is challenging being Korean. The food here was amazing, delicious, generous portions! Staff were super friendly! We have dined in numerous times now and brought friends. Those friends now come on their own and bring other friends. We have tried a lot on their menu and we enjoyed everything so far from fried chicken, cutlets, soups, japchae, and more! Highly recommend this restaurant if you want great Korean food!
Very nice restaurant, clean and cozy! The food was great as well! We ordered the special assorted meat cutlets and the corn cheese. The cutlet was very delicious with a very reasonable price! The portion was big and good for 2-3 people. The corn cheese was a bit oily but really tastes and smelled good! It was nice experience and the staffs were very friendly! Worth going again!
Great place. Spacious area, great customer service.
The food was reasonably priced, fresh and tasty. We went at 2pm so hard to tell what it s like when it s busy.
The food is good but the service is so bad.
The gamjatang here is 100 times better than the one you get in Korea. It s so addictive.
I highly recommend this place. All the food is delicious. The pork cutlet is especially great. Highly recommended. I think its probably the best pork cutlet in Vancouver. Its more delicious than saku. Makguksu and buljokbal were also really delicious. I was glad that there was a good restaurant in Vancouver. thank you!
What a place such a great food and services Thank you team Bonga !!
Its been a while since I went looking forward to Makguksu... but it was Bibim Naengmyeon Vegetable Noodles with just Naengmyeon noodles and spring mix on top. The tripe casserole was completely devoid of any ingredients and was only one size, not S.L. It was the L price elsewhere... I did. Improve your business...and your business will prosper.
We visited on a Friday night when the restaurant was very busy. Ordered 2 simple dishes, waited 30-40 minutes for my food, but it never arrived, so I ended up canceling my order and left. (With amount of ppl waiting for their food, I m sure we had to waited lot longer) The restaurant was packed, with a long wait for takeout orders as well. There were only two servers managing the entire floor, and it was clear they were overwhelmed. Sitting near the kitchen, I could see how hard they were working, and I honestly felt bad for them being so short-staffed. I had heard that the food has improved since the change in ownership, but based on tonight s experience, I don t plan to return and wouldn t recommend it to others.
Best Korean restaurant you can find in Surrey central area! Food portion was super generous and price was reasonable. Highly recommended.
We visited as a group and were surprised because they were requiring each person to order a main dish, with no sharing. Really unreasonable, so we ended up leaving. It was disappointing! Not a good place for eating as a group!
Rude owner. Weird minimum order policy. Came here in group of 10. some of us ordered individual dishes and some ordered their fried chicken to share (because 1 portion is way too big for 1 person). The owner then told the lovely waitress not to take our order because we didnt order enough. I am not sure if he expects one person to be able to finish an entire order of fried chicken. My friend from the other side of the table ended up ordering another dish for himself to cover those who were sharing the chicken. However, the owner still refused to serve us. We all ended up leaving.
Gopchang hotpot, perfect for eating on a chilly day Its spicy without any odor and the perilla powder adds an extra nutty flavor, so its really delicious!! The portion size is so huge that even two people ate to their fill.
Good Korean restaurant
Throughout the past years, you have always welcomed us with unwavering love. I was so grateful to them for cooking the perfect dish to serve our guests for this opening ceremony. They served Korean food such as pigs trotters, steamed monkfish, chicken, kimchi, etc., and the response was explosive! Thanks to you, the event went well. Boss, please always be healthy and cook a lot of delicious dishes :)
I ve never written any negative review until this moment because I understand that running a business is never easy. However, my experience at this restaurant yesterday was unacceptable. We waited for an hour without any attention from the staff, and when I inquired about our order, it became clear they had likely forgotten it. They informed us it would take another 10 minutes and kept changing that to 5 minutes, but by then, we had decided to leave since it s was 9pish. There was no apology or attempt to rectify the situation. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, it will be my last.
The taste of the food is okay...but the food comes out very slowly...it took 50 minutes for pigs feet again today...the last time I went there, there werent many customers in the hall, but the server was so bad that you had to wait a long time for each new customer, so if you cant wait, go somewhere else. cry...
Horrible Experience at Bon Ga Korean Restaurant I ve had two utterly disappointing experiences at Bon Ga Korean Restaurant , and I will never be coming back. The first time, I arrived at 8:00 PM, well before their 10:00 PM closing time, only to be rudely informed by the staff that they were already closed. This blatant disregard for their own operating hours was both unprofessional and off-putting, leaving me with a terrible first impression. Despite this, I decided to give them a second chance what a mistake that was. On my second visit, I waited over an hour for my food, while other tables that arrived after me were served promptly. The service was excruciatingly slow, and every time I asked the staff about my order, I was brushed off and told to check with the kitchen this happened four or five times! The lack of attention and care from the staff was beyond frustrating. In summary, Bon Ga Korean Restaurant offers some of the worst service I ve ever encountered. The staff is unprofessional, inattentive, and incredibly slow. Do yourself a favor save your time, money, and sanity by going somewhere else.
delicious food. big portions. staff were busy but real helpful. it was kinda stuff inside and that is my one complaint. no biggie. Food
We waited for an hour to eat dinner and even though we said they didnt even give us food in the stew... Lets talk one more time and then Ill bring it to you. They say side dish refills are calculated.... A line of kimchi... a little bit of fish cake and Jjangajji too... I went often because the food was delicious, but the service was slow and the servers were not friendly... It doesnt look good because it seems like a lot has changed.
Food tastes fine. The wait time is unbearable, took 20 mins for side dishes. 30 mins for pork cutlets.
I came here with a group of 9 people on a Saturday evening. We had a great experience! Service: The servers here are quick, attentive, and patient. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. For example, one of my friend s soup broth was too spicy and the restaurant was kind enough to remake it to suit her spice level. Besides one dish, all of our orders came out in a timely manner. Food: The food here is delicious and comes in LARGE portion sizes. It is a great value for the price! I have tried the fried chicken, cutlets, hot stone bibimbap, and tofu soup - all excellent! Atmosphere/Location: The restaurant is located in a small plaza on Whalley Boulevard. There is a decent amount of parking, but lots of tables and seats inside. Highly recommend for big groups.
Came here last night with my friends just a few hours before closing. The restaurant felt very homey, the servers were on top of our needs and the owner also happened to be there as well, made sure that we were taken care of. The food was amazing, my friends and I were all very satisfied! I had the tofu soup, it was a bit spicy for me so I asked the server for hot water to lessen the spice but the server offered to make me a new one! I was in awe on how they go above and beyond with their service. Would definitely come back here again and try other dishes :)
Only ever had take out from them. Always had the korean sweet and spicy fried chicken. One of my fav place for KFC
Best korean restaurant in the area and the best korean fried chicken I ve ever had! Fried chicken is super crispy, delicious and good portion. Please don t ever change the recipe and way of cooking!
Its so, so delicious. I havent been feeling well lately, I have no appetite, and no matter what I eat, I feel like Im not eating, but I think its all because I cant eat proper Korean food. As soon as it was delivered, I was hungry and ate a lot. A wave of emotion. The kimchi at real Korean restaurants is delicious, but the kimchi here is also very delicious as steamed Korean kimchi. They gave it to me in large pieces so I could tear it up and eat it. I ordered Bossam Makguksu and it was so large that two adults could eat it and still have leftovers. I think it serves about 3 people. I think it would be good to just reduce the amount of Makguksu and add 2-3 bowls of rice and sell it as a combo. There was more than half of the makguksu left. Boss, please keep doing business for a long time!
Great restaurant. Always order the spare ribs from skip. Only thing is 1/5 times it has come with rice. Wish they were more consistent in sending the rice and sides
Wort it must visit!!
Be prepared to wait twice the time they tell you to wait. I called for pick up, was told it would take 30 minutes. I went after 30 minutes and was told to wait 15 more minutes. I waited for 15 minutes and was told to wait yet another 10 minutes. When you go in for dine in, they will guide you to table, but then completely forget that you exist. Server s body is always turned towards the kitchen giving no attention to the people who sat at table 15 minutes ago. Remember to grab the menu and head to the kitchen to place your order. Otherwise, you won t be able to order.
Its delicious, the inside of the establishment looks better than the outside. You can sit in a closed booth with a low table in the Korean style, you can safely feel like you are in a full-fledged inexpensive restaurant. But as for this area, compared to its neighbors, the prices are a little higher, and the taste is just good.
Surprised by the unexpectedly delicious taste of pigs feet, surprised by the generous amount of Makguksu, and surprised by the amount of Pork Cutlet, I knelt down and reflected. There was a place like this in Surrey... Pigs feet have no unpleasant odor and are chewy and delicious. Its the basic pigs feet. The Makguksu (buckwheat noodles) was also delicious as it was not overpowering and was easy to drink. Ah, the pork cutlet portion was so large that I thought I had ordered the king pork cutlet by mistake, but they said this was the standard portion. Its a shame that the sauce was small compared to the amount of pork cutlet, but it wasnt particularly delicious, so I left it instead. The taste seems to be a bit different. What was a little disappointing from now on was First of all, it was disappointing that the amount and taste of the sauce did not match the quality of the pork cutlet. And perhaps because I visited during the holidays, I was a little disappointed that the garlic, peppers, and salad vegetables that came on the side were dry and twisted because it had been a long time since they were prepared. Other than that, the basic side dishes, such as kimchi and oden, were just okay, so it was nice that the food stood out. Im glad to have found such a good restaurant that I would visit again when I visit Surrey.
You should go to another Korean restaurant. Its not a good idea to spend your money here. You can lose your teeth if you order Gamjatang.
Im Korean and I can say that this is the authentic Korean restaurant. Their food portion is hugeeee. Especially, the pork cutlet Its price worthy and so crispy and yummy. Its so delicious. Ill come back often~~ Thank you!
AMAZING!! I love this restaurant so much! The food is delicious and the portion is sooo worth its price! I came with my family and got many items off the menu, at first we thought that the food was a bit on the price side but still ordered it to give it a try. But once the food was brought onto the table, we were shocked at how big the portion was. The food tasted super flavourful and it ended up being a very enjoyable dinner for all three of us! The owner was also super kind by giving each of us an ice cream on the house! This restaurant is definitely one of the BEST Korean restaurants that I ve been too!!!
Worst restaurant, employees don t know how to talk with customers such a rude behaviour.
One of the best Korean restaurants I ve ever been to. The food is amazing and very authentic!
This restaurant should not accept customers with children since they dislike kids when talking. They should put a sign stating that kids are not allowed. Your food is not as good as other Korean restaurant. I will not recommend your restaurant in any of my friends and co employees.
Went for a weekend family dinner. Foods are okay just mediocre took a long time (40 mins or so) to arrived on the table. Place to be honest is kinda run down & located in sketchy block without other restaurants nearby. Not impressed with the attitude of waitress when I asked for a chili sauce where she replied that it would be extra charge, so I asked what kind of hot sauce and she told me its Korean hot sauce and I said oh its fine then I am not into the flavor of Korean hot sauce, She proceeded saying I shouldnt say that because she is a Korean then walked off. WHAT???? Sorry but we would not be returning Bon Ga.
Tastes good, but the AC was not working there. Hope they can fix it soon.
The staff gave me a takeaway box with hole in it. Even though i told them there was a hole in it the younger staff was helpful that s why i gave it two stars. The food was great but prepare to wait.
It is the best Korean restaurant and a treasure of Seorri. It is the most satisfying Korean food restaurant in Vancouver and I hope it becomes a huge success and opens a second branch near my house. Be sure to go!!
Very practical (economical), food quality is always good. Friendly staffs.
The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Very accommodating and welcoming staff especially Stella price is just right. The pork backbone hotpot is superb!! We will definitely be going back! The best Korean restaurant in Surrey!
If you eat it right away from the best pork cutlet restaurant, it s like ice cream.
Jokbal and Makguksu are also very delicious~~!!! The chiseling chicken is also very delicious.
Hours not updated. They close at 9:30 on their store and google says 10 so we travelled all the way. Arrived at the restaurant 9:03 and got declined service. Even for us regular customers! Please be aware of their last call 30 mins before closing. sad to say we won t be coming back after going regularly for years. Very disappointed with the service given.
Its definitely one of the best Korean restaurants in Metro Vancouver. Never disappoint both in service and the food. Must try their new Korean barbecue menu!
We have a 40-year-old snowmobile with a snowstorm. One of them is a ps.make a snowflake with a snowflake Weve been sitting here for 40 minutes, and the waiter says he forgot to take our order. Giving it a one-star rating seems fair, right? We didnt end up eating anyway, and we wont be coming back in the future. The 40-year-old snowmobile is covered in a snowmobile. 1What do you think? , .
The food is delicious. You have to wait 40 minutes for your food to come out. Is it like this every time you come? I went there because I was hungry, but I get really sensitive when the food comes out late. The servers heard a lot of complaints from customers. Please note that the kitchen is slow. The food didnt come out, so whats wrong with the server? I left a large tip, but I only gave it because I wanted to be the server. If you have the same experience as me regarding the time the food comes out, please click the button. The boss should know too..
Enjoyed it all, sweet and spicy fried chicken, seafood/green onion pancake and beef tartar
Food is good. Massive portions
Great Korean food but I do find their rice cakes are always overcooked and mushy hope the owner sees this and makes changes
He spilled food on his shoe and didnt say a word of apology. He just said that he thought he spilled food on his shoe and left. The food was delicious, but an apology would have made me feel better. A restaurant is a service job, so its a bit disappointing that even one basic element like this wasnt prepared.
Good
it is delicious
If youre looking for the best Korean restaurant in Vancouver, this is it~~!! You can order anything at home and leave satisfied.
This is a restaurant that never disappoints no matter how many times you visit The owner is delicious and the food is friendly.
Always exceeds my expectations in both food quantity and quality. All of the foods that Ive tried are great! Highly recommend the tonkatsu and bossam more than the others.
The best Korean restaurant in Vancouver Here you can get beef stew, pork cutlet, beef pigs feet, bossam, and makguksu (buckwheat noodles). Ive tried everything, but its not as good as any other restaurant The owner is friendly and wants to come back every week!
Great food, and really good chicken! Now open sundays too , which was a let down when I had sunday cravings in the past
I recently moved to this neighborhood and wanted to dine in with my sister. I looked up the closest restaurant to me for quick bite and this was one of them. We ordered sweet and spicy chicken, spicy chicken stir fry and kimchi Tofu stew, and let me tell you, when I put the first bite of food in my mouth I was shocked. It was perfect temperature, perfect spice level and so well packed with flavor. The service was great. I forgot to grab the name of girl that was helping us, but I think there was only one person, but she was so nice. For me, it was worth the price I paid for, and probably one of my favorite restaurants now. I will recommend to other, and will continue to come back again, just for the fact, they let us finish the food even when they were closed. Kudos to everyone in the restaurant.
Food is amazing and service is amazing! Perfect spot for very reasonably priced, authentic, delicious Korean food. We live nearby and just discovered this place and will be coming back frequently :)
Excellent Korean food in a pleasant homey environment with helpful friendly staff. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian bibimbap
I believe this is very authentic Korean food! More spicy than your average Korean restaurants, but we love the food here
Everyone at the restaurant was so nice, and we were offered complimentary refreshments! The food was delicious and had fair portions as well. I will be back!
Their Korean style pig feet and cold noodles are pretty good. Service was quick and warm. The portion size is quite good as well. Interior looks little dated but has a lot of tables which is a plus.
Bon Ga is the perfect Korean restaurant in Surrey. Jok Bal is always right. .
Everything was delicious and authentic korean dishes. Worth your money. Will definitely come back
Really good food and service. Items are authentic and their side dishes are also well done. I would prefer bit more quantity for the prices but I was pretty happy with what we got!
Bong ga was the first place that I ever ordered KFC or korean fried chicken from and honestly they remain to be one of my favorites and I have been to about 5 other places since then! The only reason Im giving 4 stars for the food instead of five is because they removed my favorite dish which was the garlichollic chicken that came with tons of chunks of roasted garlic as well as the sauce I have only ever ordered out from there so not sure what the atmosphere is like
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere The pigs feet had a very strong sesame oil taste, which was disappointing. I enjoyed the makguksu, steamed monkfish, and even fried rice.
We love eating at Bon Ga! It s our neighbourhood s little gem. The food is delicious, serving size is huge, and the service is outstanding! This has now turned to our favourite korean comfort food restaurant, that we eat here almost every week!
Ordered Fried chicken as their chicken is crispy if it s freshly cooked. On app appeared it should be ready at 6:44pm. I arrived around 6:55. I was told 5 mins more. I waited up to 7:04 said not ready while I saw my fried chicken just sitting in the counter and they are prioritizing all dining. I got my less crispy chicken around 7:10. Update: Bon Ga reached out and admitted their mistake within couple of hours after I left my review. They refunded my payment which was unnecessary but I guess it was a kind gesture because I know that restaurants are running with a thin margin.
Quality korean authentic food, friendly staff, and enough portion!
Was here with a relatively large group after basketball, and the restaurant was very friendly and accommodating. My personal favourite from this restaurant is their king tonkatsu. The size, as seen in the photo, is very large.
The amount of Makguksu is really big and the pig s feet are so delicious!!! The chicken came crispy, not soggy, and was really delicious.
I love this restaurant!! The amount of food was very large and the kimchi side dish was very delicious! I think its an authentic Korean restaurant that you can eat in Vancouver The customer service is also very friendly and recommended:)
I ordered the bossam and makguksu set and it was so delicious!!! Even though it was delivered, it was so delicious! There is a lot of quantity When eating together, I highly recommend the bossam combo.... Next time, pigs feet.... Ill have to go there and try other things in person later
Poor service.
The rich vegetables and refreshing sauce that go into the makguksu are really delicious. I was worried that since it was a noodle dish, it would get hot quickly, but the takeout sea water was okay to eat after driving a long way home. If it were closer, I would go more often, but its too bad its too far away.
very comfortable as usual. The food is good and fresh.
I highly recommend the Jokbal Makguksu!!
Traditional Korean restaurant layout with really tasty food. The servers are also very nice!
Very nice service and happy meals and good place for meeting.
Best Korean restaurant I ever went.
Pork bone soup is the best here. Large chunks of meat on bones. Their seafood pancake is big. Says serves two but easily serves four. Good value for portion size.
Every time I feel satisfied when I come because I know food will make me happy. I usually take out pigs trotter Jok Bal with rice wine after I finish my work. And it makes me I finish the day with good mood. And I eat dinner with my friends and we have a excellent time today, but before I coming I know we will have a nice day because I know food will make me happy
Amazing fried chicken
Its really delicious! I took out the pig s feet combo!!^^ The pigs feet are delicious and the makguksu is really delicious!!!
Food and ambiance are good but lacks better service. Just one server on the floor for everyone, waited atleast 1/2 hour just to order
Beef tartare bibimbap was excellent. Portion was just right. Staff was very polite and was patient with me struggling to understand their accents
Lovely place! Portions were great, staff was kind, will definitely be coming back
Food is amazing. Friendly staffs :D
Love it super good!! Espacial and you feel korean!! The best Recommended dishes
Usually decent place to sit and eat. Delicious food. But today, server, definitely preferred its Korean customers. Almost as if I can t read the body language. Very disrespectful to your regular customers.
Just had the lady on the till give us dirty looks and ask our group of 4 was there a problem? because you didnt tip when one of our group members tip didnt process on their tip system. after being called out we offered to pay a tip via card to which she said do you have any cash?? ...are tips via card not good enough? what kind of service is this anyways? you wouldnt really feel inclined to tip at a place that complains and shamelessly asks for it... felt like we were getting peddled at a pawn shop lmao. definitely the worst customer service ive encountered in a while, a shame because i otherwise do like this place. Overall decent quality fried chicken and a calm atmosphere.
Was craving Bibimbap and found this restaurant on Google. I tried their Spicy Beef Tartare Bibimbap. Definitely will be back. Parking: Easy parking
Makgeolli (14.95) / stir fried rice cake (10.95) / hot stone pot bibimbap (15.95) / beef tartare (25.95) / glass noodles & vegetables (19.95)
We want to come back to try other dishes! Everything was perfect!
Delicious Korean restaurant.....
Best authentic Korean restaurant in Surrey Highly recommend!
The hot stone bibimbab with spicy sauce was so perfect and tasted healthy. Moreover, rice cake soup with dumplings was rich. The fruits and beef tartare was also fresh and the pork cutlet was really crispy . Perfect Korean restaurant ever
The service is good, the quality is good, the taste is delicious, and the price is affordable. I will eat at Kyoto seafood restaurants in the future.
The Spicy Squid & Pork is wonderful. Lovely place and great service. Food
Very crispy fried chicken
Nice and clean, spacious hall. Foods were well plated and the portion was huge! Most importantly all the foods including side dishes were very tasty. Definitely coming back
The food is always delicious. Today, I was disappointed that it was somewhat lacking, perhaps because the people serving us were very young. I hope it becomes a more prosperous store.
Bonga s Jokbal and Fried Chicken are the best The side dishes and service are awesome too
Great place and awesome service.
This store greatly disrespects the commitment with its customers regarding the operating hours. The operating hours are until 10pm, but when I arrived at 9:15pm this evening and wanted to order takeout, one of their staff said they are already closed. This behavior is very ridiculous and inappropriate. If your business hours are not until 10 oclock, but at any time before 10 oclock just as your staff like, please responsibly modify the information on Google Maps, as it will mislead consumers. I dont know if the owner of this store is aware of this employees improper behavior, but it is obvious that the boss paid for hiring and training employees not to deceive customers by letting them leave and close the store way more earlier than it should be. This is not helpful for business development. That staff should also be shamed for what he has done and learn what customer service really means. hope to see your store s improvement.
Closed early because they couldnt handle a backlog of orders. Looked like a good place. But I guess call before you go to know if they are open to new orders.
Very good Korean food would recommend the cold buckwheat noodles and bulgogi
Friendly staff and great service! Food is very delicious and I would personally recommend their bulgogi
They have traditional Korean seating which is really nice, especially when with friends. The garlic holic fried boneless chicken was delicious. 1/2 size is good to share with a group of 5! Their bulgogi was okay, it had some glass noodles as well, wasn t expecting it, which means, less meat. The sausage hot pot was not very delicious wouldn t order this again. Bean sprouts side dish was good. We only got 3 side dishes total, kind of low for a Korean restaurant. Also had the takoyaki which was good.
Very delicious fried chicken.
I always saw people eat beef tatare in K drama, so I am so happy to come here and try it. The restaurant is pretty nice. I love Korean food and will come back again for sure.
Were just visiting BC for a quick trip and went to this restaurant. They exceeded our expectations! Such a good food, indeed. The jumbo pork chop is unforgettable! The Hotpot is very tasty although quite a bit spicy, but will ask for a mild one next time. The staff are attentive and friendly. Will surely recommend to friends and will come back again.
We arrived a bit late for dinner tonight but they didnt make us rush. We received full service, We ordered the Spicy Braised Monkfish, which had a spicy and rich flavor and came in a big portion. Side dishes are also good. The vibe is spacious and clean, the service is good as well.
The direction indicator was fine.
The serving is huge which I love and very tasty. I always eat here every other month. Come and give it a try, they have a very nice selection of Korea Food. Food : 4/5
Sticky floors, discord between the store owner and employees, servers who touch cleaning supplies/socks and dont even wash their hands, cold and hard pigs feet that make you think they used yesterdays leftover ingredients, and spicy buckwheat noodles. I really dont write reviews, but I did.
Not bad
The mid-age scrawny lady (probably just n the kitchen) are rude, bossy and mean. She yelled at staff in front of customers. It feels like the only thing that stops her from happiness was us.
Fabulous restaurant. The food is amazing and in very generous portions, we have enough for 4 more dinners, couldnt fit it all in the two large containers we took with us. Its better to eat in than have delivery. Our favourite dish was Spicy Squid and Pork Belly - even the mild version is spicy though. Cant wait to go back there again.
As a Korean immigrant, finding satisfying Korean food can be quite challenging. However, I finally discovered a restaurant that has truly captured the essence of Korean cuisine!! The food here is simply outstanding. Each dish is prepared with meticulous attention to detail, resulting in an authentic and flavorful experience. As someone who has tried numerous items on the menu, I am still in awe of how consistently delicious every dish has been. From childhood comfort food to delectable seafood dishes, this place covers a wide range of cravings, leaving no stone unturned. The servers deserve a special mention for their exceptional hospitality. They are not only friendly but also attentive and genuinely helpful. Whether you need assistance in navigating the menu or have specific dietary requirements, the staff is more than willing to accommodate your needs. Their warm and welcoming demeanor adds to the overall dining experience, making you feel right at home. One thing to keep in mind is that the portion sizes here are quite generous. If you prefer exercising portion control, its advisable to be mindful of your order. However, if youre ready to indulge in a feast of flavors, this is the place to be :D Additionally, the restaurant offers spacious seating arrangements that provide a sense of privacy. This makes it an ideal venue for group gatherings or intimate celebrations, where you can enjoy your meal in a relaxed and comfortable setting. Hats off to the Chefs and the staffs here !
This restaurant is one of my favourite place. But very disappointed this time, bad customer service. I made take out order and acknowledged the server I was in rush so I waiting in the restaurant lobby area. Not many customers in the restaurant at that moment. After 20 min being wait patiently I went back check if the order is ready. The servers were chatting but my food has been set there for a while. I assume If I did not go back who knows how long it will take. Very disappointed this time.
Great :)
Good food and atmosphere!
We re a regular customer in this restaurant. Their food are great but service is slow. All the time that we order takeout s, always delayed. We wanted pork spareribs but the guy on the line insisted the only pork dish they have was nappa wrap and it was not even worthy with it s price because they gave us very small amount of nappa cabbage. Hopefully their service will be better soon.
The food is delicious, portions are large, and the price cant be beat. A relaxed atmosphere welcoming to everyone, from families large and small, groups of friends sharing laughs and food, to solo diners catching up on anime over a beer and hot meal. The staff are polite, courteous and accomodating, and show extreme gratitude to their patrons. Bon Ga is a very special place, and I feel very fortunate to be able to experience what they offer. Be ready to bring home leftovers!
Jokbal and chicken are really delicious, but the Buljokbal was a bit disappointing. Its just too spicy.. The Jokbal itself is okay, so I think it would be addictive if you add a little less spicy and sweetness.. Its disappointing, so Im leaving a review.
I wanted to eat dakgalbi, so I ordered delivery and it was really delicious! French fries are also delicious.
Couldve been easy 5 star if the restaurant opens little earlier like 10:30am. Chicken wings are little overcooked and not tender enough.
I have visited this place many times, almost a regular customer. I like their jokbal and spicy noodle combo. I also like the overall service here, but today I am dissapointed with their food quality. I tried soft tofu soup. I love spicy food but the broth was too strong, and halfway eating, found a hair in my soup
I packed chicken mayo and soft tofu kimchi stew. The chicken is more delicious and crispy than what you get in Korea. The soft tofu kimchi stew is also spicy and delicious.
Makguksu and kimchi were a little lacking in my taste, but bossam is chewy and delicious :)
The best of Korean restaurant in GV.
The flavor is excellent. The beef and honey garlic fried chicken and tofu pot I ordered today is delicious. For those who are afraid of eating too spicy food, the tofu pot can be requested to be less spicy.
Excellent food and service! We ordered the pork cutlet and jok bal the portions were huge! Everything was very delicious! The owner was super friendly as well!
Would recommend. Food was 10/10
The worse experience ever I had... me and my family total 4 people went there, but only 2 of us ordered food. One of the stuff told me if everyone of us are not ordered food, we cant dine in.
The food here is amazing here! Deep fried chicken was really crispy with tender and juicy meat inside. Steamed pork belly was nice and chewy. Assorted cutlet? we got like humongous pieces, and it came with different sauces. Definitely go-to restaurant now on. Highly recommended!
If you want to try Korean food, I highly recommend this restaurant. I visited here more than 10 times so far, and all the dishes I had were pretty good
The food here is amazing. Honestly Im obsessed with Korean food because of this place. Their kimchi is my favorite. I recommend trying all their dishes with kimchi. Their fried chicken is amazing.
pretty good and positive
Very good spicy teok bokki. The creamy teok is ok too but has a low salt profile so flavor is subdued. The fried chicken is tasty but the cheesy chicken uses powdered cheese flavor which is interesting in its salty sweet tones. Atmosphere is nice and cozy and can get busy. The lady owner is very nice and even explained Korean eating basics. Enjoyable experience. Parking is shared with other establishments.
During my recent visit with a friend, we encountered an unsettling situation at the restaurant. My friend placed an order for a meal, and to our surprise, the waitress informed us that we needed to order two meals. We explained that we were their customers and Im not hungry to order food. They braught us food but they retrieve the spoons from our table, but they also took away one of 2 water cups. This experience left us feeling quite uncomfortable and dissatisfied with the service provided.
If you are ever in Surrey, this Korean gem will not disappoint! Food is authentic! Service is great!
King pork cutlet is delicious~
Best fried chicken spice level was just correct and great portions.loved their chicken cutlets too
I have regular cravings for their Korean pork cutlet. Generously portioned and perfectly deep fried. Highly recommend
Fried chicken and ox bone soup were really good! Would come back again to try more!
Great Korean food restaurant in Surrey Central area. If you want to try delicious K-food, you must come here! Double thumbs up!
**Did not get to try this place.** So I cant really rate the food, but was a distasteful visit: We came at 5:40pm on a Sunday (restaurant closes at 8:30pm). A lot of empty tables - 5-6 at least and a couple more room tables. The waitress let us know that they were too busy and if we ordered food and dined in, it will be a 1 hour wait for the food. Never heard such things from a restaurant before...I have heard of waiting for an hour for seats but not pre-warned for waiting an hour for any ordered food after being seated...
Typical kr restaurant good food. Should work on packaging or change the container. Always leak sauce
Good food and friendly staff. Just a bit pricey. Over all it s a great experience with my family.
Amazing restaurant with good food and good service. Personally recommend the tteokbokki w/ cheese, sweet and spicy chicken and creamy onion chicken with rice, and cold noodles a good combination for a cold day Everyone greeted us on our way in and out which was very sweet!
The food is plentiful and very delicious^^ The pork cutlet is delicious and the monkfish stew is so delicious. I have to come again next time^^ The registered phone number seems to be different. I cant make the call. Please check.
I go here often because it feels like real Korean food. blanket The owner is friendly and the food is so delicious!
Best korean restaurant in the Surrey area. I ve never eaten in person but my friends who have gone said that it is very pleasant as well. Must have item here is the pork katsu, the chicken and the stir fried spicy pork. It is so frickin good that I have order from here 2 days in a row Generous portions and the flavor is point!
Food is amazing! Love their chicken and soup here! I have been going for a while and I m a bit shocked to see how much items have increased only within less that a year! Everything has become so much more expensive, portion and everything stayed the same. Totally understandable due to inflation but however i think the jump of prices for soup and lunch ranging from $12 to now $18-20 is hard to compete with other restaurants as well as returning customers :)) service is good otherwise:)
Simple Korean restaurant with good vibes. Service was not as attentive but the food makes up for it.
Food was good. Fried chicken was great.
New owners. New menu. Not the same as before. :( Staff was friendly. - Sept 2022
Has the chef changed? I mixed all the noodles on the tray, but the tray wasn t even half full I miss my sheep so much The pigs feet are really jagged... too bad.
You have changed to a new owner. It smells like gamjatang meat. Even the meat preparation feels like a complete amateur. You want to stick to the basics.
It s my first time coming here and will go back again! I super liked the ambiance, the food was so good with reasonable prices and a very accommodating server. If I could give more than 5 , I will give them.
Very good soft tofu stew!
I clearly ordered the Jokbal Makguksu set, but they ordered Bossam Makguksu, so I had to wait longer than the time originally mentioned to receive my food. Despite this, there was no word of apology, the female server reeked of cigarette smoke, the taste had changed as the owner had changed, and the portions of both Makguksu and Pigs Feet had become very small. Im disappointed.
I love this restaurant, I dont really care about service. But the food portion is huge, price is fair and every dish is just delicious. The Bossam is too die for.
For my friends birthday, ordered several foods here. Those are fantastic. Always, I could recommand you to order here!
Braised Monkfish, Jokbal Makguksu Combo, Chicken!!! The steamed monkfish was generous and spicy, so it tasted better than what you get in Korea. The pigs feet were soft as if they had just been boiled, and the makguksu (buckwheat noodles) had a great sauce. Friends who ate the chicken with me raved that it was the most delicious chicken they had ever eaten. It was great on the outside and inside. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture because I was in such a hurry to eat it. It was a generous, delicious, friendly, and wonderful dinner. thank you May you prosper.
You can find the best chicken in Surrey.
I ordered seolleongtang, but there was shockingly little meat in it haha. If you add all the shredded meat together, its about one piece of bossam-sized meat..? Its $15 per bowl haha.
I used to love this place, but I think they changed the owner and the chef. The food is not good as before :(
My go-to lunch takeout restaurants.
No recommend. Awful tastes.
I submitted a pork cutlet bossam combo. The meat on the outside and inside of the pork cutlet was thick and delicious. The bossam seemed a little dry compared to last time. I was a little disappointed because the skin was tough and radish and the kimchi was different from last time.
Generous portion and friendly service! Decent Korean food in Surrey. We even got free mochi at the end of our meal
We went today the server and owner are very nice. We ordered Korean Fried Chicken and Gopchang Jeongoel. The food especially what we ordered Fried Chicken is Crispy, Yam, Amazing. Better than any other known Chicken restaurant. Definitely will visit again. I went there once because it was close to my house, and the owner and server were very friendly and the food was clean and delicious. The chicken tastes better than the one you get at a chicken restaurant. I will have to go there again to eat the chicken. I ordered a small size and it was generous, crunchy and very delicious.
