Southeast Asian specialties with a kick & tropical cocktails in a welcoming, colourful atmosphere.
We’ve always loved Banana Leaf, and the South Surrey location is now our closest. They did a great job with the renovation as it’s cozy and inviting. Food is consistently good. We had the boneless chicken curry, Pepper Prawns (Friday special) (shells on btw). Also abundance of seafood, small order of Sablefish, and Roti. Food came so fast…almost too fast!
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Portion sizes are making up this review. Smaller portions of meat and just a lot of “filler” which is also very good. For the price you would expect more protein.
Very delicious food, fresh and tasty. Everything I’ve tried so far is amazing. Super friendly staff and good service. Great decor too! The only thing I’m not in love with is the cocktails. Average $14 and they sound so good on the menu but most tasty like virgin drinks. Tasty juice for sure but I won’t be ordering any more. Otherwise love this place.
One of my all time favourite restaurants in Surrey. We had free coupons to get the eggplant fries which are amazing. The roti canai and fried rice is also amazing and much more flavourful than it looks. The currey and noodles was very flavourful too, but not spicy. The singapore laksa was good but should have been more sour and spicy flavour.
Food is good. The server was very friendly and suggested us dishes as per our needs. Our 3 year old liked the Pineapple Seafood Chicken Fried Rice. We also ordered the item of the day Caramelized Ginger Sablefish. It tasted good, the quantity was moderate. Just that I found the cost of the dishes to be quite on a higher range.
I've been going to Banana Leaf since the 90s at their 1st location on Broadway & Oak. There food is always consistently good - they are the best Malaysian restaurant in the lower mainland. So happy they've opened a location out in the burbs. They even have some menu items at this location that Vancouver doesn't have (Nasi Lemak!!). Will ofcourse always be back. ♥️
Went in for a quick lunch so ordered the Rendang Beef curry with veggies and rice. The food came much quicker than I expected. As it turned out the beef was still cold inside and the curry is just warm. The rice was ok but the veggies looked not fresh at all. Talked to the waitress and they took the cold dish back and promised to make a new one. However, when the new one came the beef was over heated and veggies were over cooked. At this time, I simply lost my appetite and quickly finished the overheated food and try to pay the bill. They were nice enough not to charge me for the lunch and I paid a big tip to the waitress and left. From my experience it seems like the food they were serving is not fresh but from premade food packages.
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, and great service. Our server thoughtfully placed us and our young kids in a corner booth where we didn't have to worry about disturbing other diners. We ordered 2 main dishes to share and chicken wings as a starter. All were delicious and arrived quickly to our table.
The roti is awesome, but portions are small. It s a busy spot, so be prepared for a wait.
Good food, clean & relaxing ambience. Plus, Vinci, the server was very nice and kept checking on us if we needed something. Definitely coming back here.
Had a long day of airplane travel into Seattle, then a drive up to Whistler, and desperately needed dinner. Lucky to find Banana Leaf on a random restaurants near me search. Exceeded expectations. Charming ambience, fresh and deliciously flavorful food. Our bellies were full and happy. Highly recommend. Good happy hour selections and daily specials too.
The staff were so lovely. Will be back many times. Lunch specials for $19. Delicious and decent value
Banana leaf is hands down a great restaurant. Excellent food and drinks. Highly recommend this new location.
Probably the only Malaysian restaurant in South Surrey/White Rock area I recommend. Closest to authentic Malaysian food around. Please please bring back Ipoh Hor Fun!! Parking: During busy time it can be hard to find parking as it shares with Home Sense
I just love it here. Drive all the way from Seattle to eat here. My new favorite
It was our first time visiting this restaurant and walked in on a Saturday night without a reservation. Unfortunately, we were told it was about an hour wait for a table. So we decided to make a reservation online after we left and we came back later. The service was really good and the food came out fast. We were checked on multiple times and our drinks were never empty. The staff were also very friendly! We chose the restaurant for their vegetarian options and the food was really tasty and looked nice and presentable. Their drink menu is really interesting as well with some cool cocktails to choose from. Its been a while since we had this nice of a dining experience for a date night so it was much appreciated! Well definitely be back.... but obviously reserving a table a couple days before!
Had a business lunch with my team and this has been one of the best so far, amazing food, especially the fillet fish in Banana leaf, curry beef, satay chicken and few more dishes, quick service and delicious food with mesmerizing ambiance. Highly recommended place for lunch and dinner.
I was there for lunch before and decided to take my family for dinner. Food taste good. But disappointed with the relatively small size of the rendang beef and Kari lambing lamb dish. There was only 5 bite size of lamb pcs & 2 potato cubes for $28 with mostly only sauce. The beef dish as well. Nothing like the picture which have beef cubes stacking up. It was just flat with the sauce. We were wondering if kitchen run out of food or if they gave us the wrong size dish as they have small order as well. Good taste, just overpriced for such small portions. We ended up paying $40/person with only 1 beer and came home to make grilled cheese sandwich.
Loved the food and service was exceptional.
Great appetizers and perfect deserts
We were surprized how great this was everything was quite good and do not miss out on the roti
Ordered quite a few dishes for my moms birthday. Everything was great. The food and service was good. Id recommend trying this place if you havent yet. Vegetarian options: There are some veggie and tofu options that are pretty great.
Not as flavourful for mango salad great deals but taste is alright in general Food
First impression was the cleanliness, and second was the amazing food!!!! Will definitely recommend and go again
Clean and organized! Service was great! We had $29 7 courses dishes, delicious and tasty.
One of my favourite spots in South Surrey!
Great food, reasonably priced. The menu is very interesting. The mixed cocktails were amazing.
Amazing food
This place is expensive for not that big of portions. And the food was okay and not great. Even with the US to Canadian dollar conversion its still over $20 us in person. We asked for it to go and they didnt even give forks even though we requested them. Better food can be had for much less.
We just love this place, have never had anything on the menu that we didn t like, so flavourful, and the price point is very reasonable along with the quality. Also we want to sing a special praise to a very special and kind hearted waitress that always greets us upon arrival with a huge smile and makes you feel very welcome. Her name is Irene. Thank you so much Parking: Numerous
Super delicious Malaysian restaurant near the US border. All the dishes are delicious with bold flavors. Two thumbs up.
Such a beautifully renovated restaurant was a large menu featuring favourites from Malaysia and South East Asia. Their lunch menu is every day and majority of the items were $19. There is also a 7 course lunch tasting menu for $29 each for two people and a solo menu for the same price. We ordered an appetizer of papaya salad to share and also the char kway teow and pineapple shrimp dish. The sauce from the pineapple shrimp dish was so yummy and could easily go with any dish. Everything was well presented and delicious. The teh tarik iced milk tea was smooth and the right balance of sugar. Bonus: check out the vibrant wallpaper in the washroom.
The decoration and environment of this hotel are very unique and clean. Why do I remember Davies place is quite dirty... The price is very affordable, the portion is large, and it s delicious. The taste menu I ordered has a lot of dishes, and there are also a few that I have never tried before. I will come again next time
Good food Good service
It was my first time to banana leaf and it was so good! I was so surprised by the modern and casual atmosphere. The specialty drinks were really delicious. And the food the flavours were amazing. There was the perfect amount of heat/spice in combination with all the flavours. We ordered 5 items and shared. Each one was delicious. We even packed the leftover sauce from the muscles to have at home. Mmm haha! Highly recommended! We are definitely going to go back!
First time eating here and everything that we ordered tastes so good!! We ordered the pineapple fried rice and it is SOOOOO good by itself. I ordered the Tofu Goreng and its really good, too. My partner had the lamb stew, I tried it and we both loved it!! He also ordered the Coconut Mussels Curry and he finished that in a flash!! For drinks (not in the photo) we tried the 3 layered milk tea and it is so delicious with the coconut sugar!!! The service is really, really good!! Cant wait to try the rest of the menu!! We highly recommend!!
Very nice staff and the was great. Service was on point. Would come again. Certified hood classic Food
We live in Edmonton AB and every time we come down for a visit we stop in for dinner, the flavors of the food just keep us coming back.
It is an authentic Malaysian restaurant, and the food is okay, but overall it is salty. The food prices are average.
When cooked properly, their food is great but they lack consistency in their dishes, sadly today my food not only came late but mushy and full of beans sprout instead of noodles. Won t be going for a while, but if you have the time (and mood for a hit or miss) worth trying.
Amazing food and an amazing service. A definite go to.
Real malaysian foods
Our experience at this restaurant was unsatisfying and frustrating for many reasons: 1. The server had to be asked many times for things that normally are courtesy: to bring some ice for the water and a slice a lemon for it; to bring hot sauce and napkins ( which we never got), 2. One of the dishes ,Hainan chicken , was swimming in a pool of oil, and the chicken had a yellowish green, sick look. 3. The restaurant has an arrangement that I have never seen anywhere else: as you enter the restaurant you are told that you cannot go to any sitting on the right side as it is dedicated for their staff. What is this????????? It was a very unpleasant experience!
Came here to lunch with my friends after my meeting. Havent been to Banana Leaf in many years since pre Covid. I used to go to the one on West Broadway and Denman St, it was one of of the places my wife and I used to enjoy. Food quality is definitely just as good as I remembered and the pricing isnt that bad either.
it was okay. that s all i can say, i ve definitely had better and more flavourful things, but the service was good and food came fast. good if you don t want to sit down for too long, and many options
My family and I came here on a Saturday around 1:00pm. When I first called the restaurant, Alyssa gave me a lot of information about lunch specials and sharing options. I called a few days later to reserve and spoke to Manager Ceclia. The restaurant was able to accommodate our group of 15 and was so welcoming. The restaurant is bright and modern and they gave us a section to ourselves. There were many food options that met our needs. Some of our guests ordered separate lunch meals on their own (Hainanese chicken & rice, Laksa, Rendang Rendang Beef with Vegetables & Rice), some ordered the tasting lunch menu and then our table of 8 opted to order family style sharing portions (Char Kuey Teow, Mee Goreng, Nasi Lemak Kampong, Rendang Beef). The supervisor that day came to talk to us and we found out that he was from the same area that my late father -in-law used to live in, Kuching. It was a great ending to a celebration of life in my FILs honour. The food was delicious and the service was great.
Lunch on a Sunday & we were the first customers. Service was ok, nothing special. Food came out fast enough. We ordered kerabu salad, hainanese chicken rice & ckt to try. I am from Penang so imagine my surprise the ckt came out with slices of tomato, cucumber & pickled cabbage (my penangite soul went Noooooooo!). It was slightly too sweet but good wok hei. Kerabu salad was not how I remember it to be but taste was ok. Hainanese chicken rice: good fragrant tumeric rice, chicken good but too sweet soy sauce. The downer: generic thai sweet chilli sauce. When it comes to how good a hainanese chicken rice is, the chilli sauce comes into play. Its not even a thai version chicken rice chilli. Overall, if you arent fussy about the food being not too authentic, food was tasty enough.
It was so so good
Food was great and service was exceptional
The food and service were great. Definitely recommend.
The server was knowlegable about the menu and very helpful catering to our dietary needs and preferences. Several delicious gluten-free options. They prepared our dishes around a shrimp allergy. Everything tasted wonderful. They provided special place settings for our children. Dietary restrictions: Several gluten-free menu options. Others can be prepared gluten free on request. Some dishes can be prepared individually to avoid cross-contamination.
Such delicious food! Every meal is delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant!
Rating is for service only. We walked in at 9:20pm, knowing they close at 10pm but thinking they could still welcome us with 40 mins left. When we walked in staff gave us very awkward looks not knowing what to say and eventually one of them said they re only doing take out. Pretty disappointed
Me and my partner love this restaurant and the vibe inside the restaurant.. the service are amazing (i love their traditional aprons )the food was also amazing we had beef rendang, roti canai, laksa and dessert(can t remember what it was) would totally come visit this restaurant again
Shared the 12 course meal and every single plate was amazing. It actually left me surprised (in a good way) that I wasnt disappointed with any of it. Would definitely be back to try new dishes. The waitress wasnt great, however. Didnt check on us, had to order drinks with the food runner, and ended up going to the bar to pay after waiting for her to come to the table.
The environment is beautiful, but the taste is too ordinary. I wont come back a second time.
Worst service ever. Waitress was so rude and it was Father s Day
This Malaysian restaurant is highly recommended. The food is fresh and of the highest quality, with a delicious taste. The restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The service is excellent, making it a great place to dine.
I ate at another BL location a few days before this and raved about the food. We decided to check out another location and it didn t disappoint. We love Malaysian food and we absolutely will come back. Glad to have a variety of cuisine in and around our area. Vegetarian options: The eggplant dish was amazing. Parking: This location is in an open strip mall with ample free parking close by.
Delicious, beautifully plated food! This is my favourite restaurant in Surrey hands down. Yum! Food
It was my first time to dine at this Malaysian restaurant. I really love the ambiance here. The foods are delicious, plus the staff is friendly. Excellent service!
Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Food was really flavorful. Save room for dessert. Fried banana with ice cream was best we had
Hainan chicken is a must try!
Their interior is bright and spacious, comfortable seating. The appetizer mussels with garlic bread was delicious. Flavourful and toasted bread was warm and soft. The disappointment was the Singaporean Laksa. The fact that this item was listed at the top of the menu, you would expect to be one of their signatures. It should be as the Banana Leaf in Vancouver Downtown laksa was truly delicious, I ordered a second one after tasting it and took it home that time because it was so good. I didnt expect the laksa in Surrey Banana Leaf would be so different and mediocre.
First time here and was amazed by the interiors but the food was average and is not consistent - does not live up to the standards of the other locations. The waitress was not knowledgeable of the drink menu when we asked about the drinks. We ordered the noodles and chow kweuy dao(flat noodles) - it was really mushy and it didn t have much wok hei. We couldn t finish it. We came in an group of 8 people and when the bill came, they said we had to pay 20% service for groups of 8 and above, which was unexpected and we didn t even get a heads up - they didn t even tell us when we made the booking. Great friendly service and satay was good too. However .It was Mother s Day and too bad my mother did not enjoy the experience and food on this location. We will not recommend to friends and family and will not be coming again.
Great place to eat Asian food. Dishes were excellent and the decor is beautiful
It was so delicious that it was all gone like a whirlwind of clouds before I thought of taking pictures. Highly recommended!
Dining at Banana leaf was an exquisite experience from start to finish. The degustation menu took us on a delightful culinary journey through Malaysias diverse flavors. Each dish was a perfect blend of tradition and modernity.
Had the 12 course tasting menu with 4 people. All the food was great. Good service. Yum yum!
Quick service, tasty food.
Typical Malaysia restaurant
really good food! Service is great.
Hospitality by Cecilia (who sat us) and Andy (who has just returned from tasting his way throughout Malaysia to bring back tastes and influences to his dishes here) is superb! Both of them alone would be reason enough to return to this Surrey location of Banana Leaf! Pardon some of the photos of food that were snapped after having a few bites, we were too eager to dig in! Food was delicious, dare I say even better than the Vancouver locations. I discovered they have an OG Malaysian chef cooking curries for over 30 years in their kitchen! We enjoyed the Beef Satay, Roti Canai, and Tofu Goreng as an appetizer. Entrees were Char Kway Teow and Assam Tofu Curry, very good! Ambience and decor is beautiful. What I found to be a treat is that the men s washroom offered mouthwash with disposable small swish cups, a nice touch. Now that we can enjoy Banana Leaf in Surrey, coming from Fraser Valley, it saves us the additional hour driving to Vancouver for Singaporean / Malaysian cuisine cravings!! We ll be back!
First time here, disappointing experience. I remember seeing Banana Leaf on dine out but this is just another overpriced mediocre restaurant. Beef curry is mediocre, lukewarm and not spicy. It costs $26 and doesn t come with rice. If you want rice with it, that will be $29-30, which is quite expensive in my opinion. Skewers are also quite steep $8/one without any special on it. I would prefer other Singaporean/Malaysian restaurants over banana leaf. Overpriced mediocre food, only good if you wanna get alcohol with this cuisine of food.
Nice experience with family! Its a must try!
The service is immaculate. We are regular customers and we know their level of service and the quality of their food since vacating the Denman Street location. Were loyal to this location. Parking: The original style Sambal Prawns is amazing (just ask for it)! I ve recommended that the add Sambal Chicken pieces to the menu .so hopefully we see it soon. It will be a hit.
Visited once when they just opened and also had another visit the other day. I love this place it s bright, spacious and delicious! Kid-friendliness: Kids bowls and utensils
Food was Ok as everything tasted very salty. Portion was small. Service was good even it was busy. A mandatory tip of 19% was added to our final bill which was a surprise. Unlikely we will return.
The newly renovated place looks very refreshing. Roti canai and sambal green beans were very good except that the beans were a bit stringy. Hainanese chicken is good but sliced a bit too thin. The beef rendang and char kwey teow were not up to par. Beef rendang was like pulled beef. The beef strands were falling off and beefs texture was a bit coarse, plus it was smothered in too much sauce making the whole dish very mushy and not appetizing. The char kwey teow tasted good but the noodles were broken into very small pieces. It was like little bits and pieces instead of noodle strands.
Just had the most wonderful 12 course dinner here tonight. Weve been going to the West Broadway location for years and are so happy to have this restaurant closer to home. Everything was great - delicious assortment of main dishes, attentive service, and pleasant atmosphere. Well be back for sure!
Beautiful restaurant and the food and service is amazing. This has easily become a new favorite restaurant I will be glad to share with friends and family.
Some of the most delicious food Ive ever had! I appreciate how they put multiple types of proteins in many of their dishes. Friendly service as well :)
This new location in White Rock is such a gem. Ambiance is good, modern and clean. Service was fast too. Lots of free parking in the area - 3 hour maximum. Food is absolutely amazing. Pineapple fried rice is always a favourite. Lots of mocktail options as well. Their young coconut drink is also delicious. Highly recommend the pandan panna cotta dessert. Not too sweet and just the right size. Prefer this location over the downtown branch. Will be back again!
We went in but found food on the floor under the chairs. So we stood there and told a waitress about it, and requested another table. She might have misunderstood that we just didn t like the location. We were arranged at another table, and the floor was never cleaned till we left not a good first impression. The dishes were good, we ordered the $29 tasting menu. Willing to try other dishes if the service can be improved.
Banana leaf in South Surrey is one of the best restaurants in town. It hits every mark. Quality food, great atmosphere and even better prices. The food is absolutely amazing. From the roti to the satay to the eggplant friess I can not say enough about how delicious everything is. Also there 7 course lunch menu for $29 is unbeatable in value and flavour. It left me feeling satisfied and was surprisingly light without sacrificing taste. The panna cotta was a perfect finish. The atmosphere is perfect with a very sleek deign hidden under a cozy amount of greenery. It is also spotless and the the mouth wash in the washroom is a nice touch. Had the chance to meet the owner today and he is a very kind, genuine and humble professional. I had to tell him how much I have enjoyed his restaurant joining the neighborhood. Will try to spread the word about this hidden gem and can not wait until I get lunch or dinner there again. Vegetarian options: Great assortment of vegetarian options. Not the kind of vegetarian that tries to replicate meat dishes. Just quality, delicious food with no meat. Recommend the roti and the eggplant fries.
Beautiful interior and great service. The food was yummy too, love their happy hour
I was looking forward to go to this place because I heard some comments about the food, but I had a bad experience since I arrived. This is not a family friendly restaurant, there are no changing tables at the bathrooms, you have to get creative to change diapers in there. I also asked for planted based options which are clearly marked on the menu, but guess what? Not all plant based options on the menu are actually plant based according to what the waitress told me. So, be careful, its madness. It took an eternity to the waitress to take my order, they never cleaned the dirty plates off the table and never asked if I wanted dessert or anything else. I had to asked for the bill 3 times and never got it, I was about to walk out without paying because no one was paying attention to me and in top of that they were asking for tip. It gets noisy, I couldnt have a conversation with my companion, we got bored of having to be screaming all the time. The food was tasty, yes, but not cheap for sure, paid $28 for main dish.
We usually go to Banana Leaf on Broadway and Willow but decided to try the new location in South Surrey as it is closer to home for us. Parking is plentiful since the restaurant is located in Surrey Mall right across from Cactus Club. We did not make reservations. I understand that they charge a fee for reservations. The restaurant is very modern and has high ceilings. It is a beautiful modern restaurant but I prefer the Broadway location. To me the location Surrey felt cold and sterile. The Broadway location has more of a warmth and welcoming feel to it. The service was very good. At the Broadway we were given nice spicy peanuts when we sat down. They were so good. When I asked for peanuts here we were give a dish of stale peanuts. I guess they don t do the peanuts like the Broadway location does. For dinner we had the bbq chui sue pork lettuce wrap, carmelized ginger sable fish with vegetables and rice, mango chili prawns and sticky rice with mango for dessert. The sable fish was delicious. The skin was nice and crisp but the fish itself was nice and moist. All the food was very well prepared and it came out hot and the main dishes were served together. They have a good selection of exotic drinks and the wine prices are reasonable. We would probably alternate between here and the Broadway location. I really like the feel of the Broadway location more but my husband prefers the Surrey location.
Food and drink (3 layer milk tea) tastes good. Solo platter comes with a nice variety and dessert!
I like food Kid-friendliness: un content garcon et fille. Food : 5/5 |
We love banana leaf and the flavor is very good but I found it s so pricey. I ordered beef curry and that is 28 dollars. We have 4cubes of beef and the package is tiny not even half of my hand.
Not opened when it says its opened. Very disappointed.
Newly open since last July 2023, my first time to try this location. Atmosphere is elegant, spacious, bright and clean. Lunch combo is reasonable price , you can have 1 salad, 1 appetizer, 3 main dishes, 1 main food, 1 dessert. Delicious as usual. Waitresses are kind and professional, always to check us needs. Worthy to go, will recommend to my friends and clients. A good choice in south surrey restaurant.
it is delicious
Third time Ive been here since theyve opened. The food is SO good! My family and I have tried nearly everything on the menu and nothing has disappointed. Only huge disappointment is the service. Servers take 15-30 minutes to come to the table after being seated, never check on you during the meal, and have to repeatedly chase servers down to pay. I would think theyd have it figured out by now, but not yet...
Great food but exorbitant prices and slow service that unfortunately makes the dining experience mediocre. Took 20+ minutes to get two dishes and a drink. For noodle dishes, please serve with spoon AND a fork, not just a spoon. For curry dishes, please serve with a spoon. Please educate your staff to speak up and repeat the order to confirm with the customers.
Very nicely decorated. Staff are very obviously not experienced. They all seem very shy; when we ordered they did not repeat our order back to us and so after not receiving our food we had to ask again if they punched in our orders. Also when they served us the food, they did not say what the dish or drink was. We ordered curry and it was good however they only provide a fork and knife to eat with how do you eat curry with that? The noodle dishes were also served with a spoon which was weird; it was hard to put on our plates. The skewers were small and they costed $4 each I think if they fixed these things the experience would be better.
Yummy food and great ambiance! Its our usual dinner place before we cross the border. Ill definitely recommend the 7 course menu. Love their bathroom, too! Food
Service was slow. Food excellent
This place is always busy, even on a late Sunday afternoon which only means one thing, must be good. Highly recommend it and wouldnt hesitate to come back.
First time at the South Surrey location - excellent, quality food as with all their locations. Service was not up to par. Once we recieved our meal, staff were completely inattentive. No follow up, no beverage offer, no dessert offer, no inquiry as to our food or if we needed anything else. Had to ask for bill. Initial service (welcome and order taking) was very good. Dietary restrictions: Great vegan options with a lot of variety and flavour.
First two experiences were good, this one quite the opposite. 7 course tasting menu for 5 ppl was surprisingly underwhelming. It was $30 per person and for $150 if we just paid for regular dishes we would have had far more quantity of food. Portion sizes were small, presentation weak, especially the fish, everyone got 1 small piece. They give a good number of roti canai but that s it. The server was new or confused. She first just assumed we wanted this for 2 people, as if 3 people didn t need to eat. She came out with 2 tiny dishes and we easily saw the problem. If she thought we would order more after she could simply ask. We obviously wanted it for all 5 of us, and if she knew it was better to just order for 2 cause of how lacking it is and order other regular dishes to supplement it, this could have been easily communicated. I highly recommend you stay away from any 5/6/7/8/9 + tasting menu, feels like a rip off when you are already a group of people who can easily share regular dishes that are better portioned and created with more appeal. Salad and dessert is nothing special. Beef rendang is normal like anywhere else. Roti canai sauce was very mild and lacking curry texture. Maybe an off day but enough for me to make it known this wasn t worth $150 at all and quite disappointing.
Delicious food and great service! And a nice ambiance.
Been there twice now, the prices are really exorbitant thats for sure, the taste is good but 24$ for a chicken curry with vegetables where you get mostly vegetables and few pieces of chicken. It should have been renamed to vegetable curry with pieces of chicken. And all their dishes are like that, when you order a protein(chicken, lamb, beef) they fill up the plate with tons of veggies to make it look like a big portion while charging high prices but instead what you re paying for is cheap veggies. Food takes forever to come i understand busy time but service is slow. Finally the mandatory tip for groups of 6 people or more is what i find mind blowing, tip is something that you give when you are really satisfied with everything from good service to food quality but imposing gratuity for groups of 6 or more is not something to do because even if they don t like the service or food they will have to give exorbitant tips as it is already included in the bill.
Tried banana leaf white rock for the first time last night. We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious all the food was. The staff was incredible and so helpful in selecting dishes we have never heard of. We would definitely be back and want to try everything on the menu. Highly recommend
Im a regular customer at this location I love the food here its better than their other locations in my opinion but the last time I went the service was horrible I usually have Irene as my server shes very outgoing and attentive but this time I had different SERVERS I wasnt greeted just sat down right away and I had to quite a while for someone to bring the menu and water, I kept getting new servers which was very confusing and they werent welcoming at all and barely came to my table until it was time for the bill when I didnt even ask for , other than that everything was okay, im not going back until I get my usual server
food taste menu was fresh and on point clean atmosphere young workers so had patience Food : 5/5
Place looks nice but we didn t really liked the food/flavours. We ordered the 7 course tasting menu. The flavours of the course doesn t taste like it complements the flavours of each dish. Service is quite slow in this place like others have mentioned.
We came here for Dine Out Vancouver. It was extremely busy but they did a fantastic job at being attentive and delivering all 8 courses seamlessly. Everything we ate was fantastic. Food : 5/5
The food was really good. The service was good. The atmosphere was great. Make a reservation.
The food here is delicious, and our main server (who reminds me of Ariana Grande) was very attentive and kind. The kitchen-to-table service could have been better, I would rather not wait several minutes between items.
Food was decent, but service was poor. When I entered the restaurant, 2 servers made eye contact with me but didn t greet or interact with me. When I tried to ask them about my reservation, they straight up ignored me. We ordered the dine out course menu, and they forgot to bring one of the main menu items. Even after we requested the item, it took a long time for the menu item to come out. Then one of the servers came to us and said we can only stay up to 2 hours. Fair enough, we understood although technically the reason we stayed in the restaurant past 1 hour was the missing item they forgot to bring to us. There was no apology for the missed item btw. We d been staying for 1 hour 30 minutes, and a server came to us with a card machine and a bill when we were still eating. We did not ask for the machine & bill. Although they had said we can stay for up to 2 hours, they wanted us to leave earlier. I rarely tip lower than the suggested % on the card machine, but this time I found this service didn t require a 18% tip. I tipped lower than 18%. My friend said she wanted to tip 0% but still tipped. After tipping and preparing to leave, we saw two servers at the back snickering at us. We still tipped 12-15%, but I guess they thought their poor service deserved a 18+% tip. I was happy that Banana Leaf came to Surrey, but I m not going to come back. Train your servers well.
One of the worst dinners I ve ever had. We ordered the 9 course testing menu for two and was very disappointed. The portions were tiny, one prawn each and the satay stick was the size of my pinkie! A lot of the dishes had hunks of raw vegetables or fruit in them and we found sand in one of our clams. I found myself waiting for the dinner to end but more vile courses kept coming. Would not recommend.
Clearly marked plant based options. We had the king pao cauliflower and Assam curry tofu and vegetables. Both dishes were very tasty! They also have a very cute ambiance!! Wish they add a lot more vegan options! Vegetarian options: Clearly marked vegan options. Staff is knowledgeable!
Love it!! Not too many Asian restaurants especially sit down in this neck of the woods, unlike Richmond. Lamb skewers are my go to, real nice peanut sauce and some cucumbers to munch on. The tofu with similar sauce also worth munching on as well. Fabulous service here, Amex approved. Tons of parking here. Nice ambience. Easy repeat for me. Clean washrooms too.
Had lunch at this location, first table to sit. The food was excellent and arrived fast except the chicken wings, which never arrived until I mentioned it while paying nearly an hour later which we took to-go. Will probably not come back for lunch as service disappointed us
Such a great place to eat with great I mean GREAT service. The atmosphere was so calming and i had some pretty good music. Delicious food and overall it was awesome. Will come again.
The food was delicious and lots. Desert was good and not too sweet. But the service was kind of slow and there was a point where our table was forgotten.
Had the 12 course tasting menu with a friend and really liked it overall. Most dishes were very tasty/came with a sauce. I think I might do the 9 courses next time instead as the lobster didnt do too much for me, it was tasty, but the meat felt a bit mushy. Will come back to this franchise for sure.
Delicious meal at the Banana Leaf! Loved the pineapple rice and vegetable chicken curry. Tasty, favorable food and not too spicy.
Was very excited that a Banana Leaf opened in South Surrey but waited a while because of mixed reviews. Decided to go tonight for my wife s birthday dinner and get the 12-course tasting menu. We started off by ordering drinks and the 12-course. The drinks took awhile but the restaurant was packed so we didn t mind. Shortly after the drinks arrived, we received the first 3 courses. The Roti, Chicken Satay, and Mango Papaya salad. All three were super flavourful and delicious. My wife ordered another drink but after 20 minutes we had to ask where it was and we saw the bartenders just standing around and talking. It then came 5 mins later. After came the Scallops and Fried Oysters, which were good, followed shortly by the Mussels which were great. Portion sizes were small but maybe to be expected for a 12-course meal. Then we received the Green Beans and the Sablefish. Green beans were good but cold. The sablefish was nice. Next was the Beef Rendang and Chilli Prawns. Two really saucy dishes that would pair well with rice but there was no rice. After having to wait 10 mins to flag someone down, we asked if we could get rice and then they brought it. I was a bit disappointed in the Beef Rendang as the Vancouver locations are so much more flavourful and have a good spice level. This one was bland and not at all hot (temperature wise). The Prawns were delicious. Then there was the lobster which was small but delicious and the sauce was really nice too. After finishing these courses we were looking forward to dessert which sounded good. We waited 20 mins and then proceeded to try and flag someone down. Once we got attention it took another 25 mins to get dessert to the table. The Pisang Goreng just tasted of deep fried and the bananas and the ice cream had no flavour at all. I m pretty disappointed in the lack of caring when it comes to service at this place. You would constantly have to wave people down to get drinks or ask where the food was and you could see other tables showing the same signs of waiting fatigue, especially when we visibly saw staff standing around. I would just advise to spend the time and drive downtown to either location and you will get a much better experience.
The best place for authentic Malaysian food in the area. This is a new Banana Leaf location with a very nice atmosphere.
The lunch course is delicious. For dinner, the mee goreng is the best~ Friendly place, nice atmosphere~
Large group tonight meant a chance to try a few dishes. No disappoinments at all. Roti Canai is a perfect starter, lamb stew was tender, pineapple rice was excellent and great for kids as it comes in a pineapple! Next round, laksa is top of my list to try.
Food preparation can take forever. Maybe I was just not lucky, though. This place is very pricey. And do not expect banana leaves all over like you find in restaurants around Kenya, Nigeria, DRC and South Africa if they leverage such a name.
Came here for the dine out Van event. $45 for a 9-course menu. Food was great!
Our family looks forward to Dine Out every year. We eat at least three times and choosing a restaurant is very exciting for us. We chose this as our first restaurant this year, but we were wrong. I ordered a course meal for $45 per person. The food quality is terrible. It was a truly ridiculous amount of food. One shrimp and one skewer per person. A piece of fried fish. A plate of salad. A small bowl of rice. There were 4 clams and 3 servings of lamb stew in small bowls, and the only amount of lamb we could eat was 2 pieces per person. Rather, there were more carrots and celery. We even received our food later than the table that came later than us and we waited too long in between. To serve a course meal, it would have been better if the salad and dessert were served per person, and the remaining dishes were served per person on one plate. The order of food served was confusing and I didnt understand why the vegetable dish was served last. Ive never had mango sticky rice this bad. There wasnt enough sauce, the rice was too hot, and the mango was also hot. Did they come out in the microwave? The staff never say hello whether we leave or not. The restaurant was busy, the staff were hurried, there were no smiles on their faces and some were even irritated. The kitchen door keeps opening noisily. Employees kicking doors in and out. It was visible to me the whole time I was eating and it was really annoying. We almost got sick of the food we ate and felt like we were wasting the money we paid. They ruined our first Dine Out of 2024. I will never go here again. Its a waste to give even one star.
My wife and I went for the Dine Out 7 course lunch tasting menu yesterday. When we arrived for our reservation, the host was not very friendly leaving us feeling like we were an inconvenience. Service by the other serving staff was much better throughout the meal. One thing which would have been nice is if they briefly mentioned what the courses were as they were brought out and what the dipping sauces were for the chicken skewers and roti. The food was all good with smaller portions. One of the dipping sauces had a strong tea flavour which neither of us cared for. The fish was quite tasty as were the green beans. The pana cotta was also very good. The biggest disappointment was the beef rendang which was very watery and lacked any actual flavour. We were really looking forward to that course but sadly it fell short. The chicken skewers were good as was the salad. We may return to try some of their other dishes at some point as we have always heard good things about all of the Banana Keaf locations.
They have a 3 tier group service charge which I vehemently disagree. 6 to 8 people 18% 9 to 14 people 20% 15 and up 22% They had 1 server for our 20. The above-mentioned reasons completely clouded over the good food. I will NOT go there again even without a group.
My coworker and I went here yesterday for lunch. The food is amazing and our server Ramsey was excellent. Presentation, taste, service and atmosphere is 5 star!
This is a beautiful restaurant with such delicious food. The service and atmosphere was wonderful on top of incredible Malaysian food. I m already looking forward to coming back here!
My meal here was incredible!! With amazing service, tasty food, and beautiful ambience, my dinner was the highlight of my day. My favourite dishes were the Tom Yum Gong and the Roti Canai. I will be coming back soon!!
Highly recommend
1. The service was horrible. 4 of us ordered 3 drinks and 6 dishes and they MISSED one order so we had 5 dishes and werent full. They also didnt give us rice that was supposed to come with the chicken curry. We waited and tried to ask if the food was coming but got ignored to all staff. We were all annoyed and decided to leave. When we finally got a servers attention and got the bill, we told her our food didnt come out she said, but this is enough right? As if she was saying you guys ate a lot you dont need more food anyway. No apology or asking if we still wanted it. So we told her we were a bit upset and she just ignored and said do you want receipt? And didnt say thank you or bye as well as other servers. 2. This location tasted the worst out of all Banana Leaf locations. It tasted bland and watery. Spices and sauces are different from other locations. 3. Proportions are too small. Our family dont eat a lot but food was so little. The curry was more like sauce on top than soup. 4. Each dish took so long to come out. 5. The minimum tip was 18% The card machine... 6. The staff were all racist. They checked on how the food was for other tables and they were all white. They had small talks with them but never came to our table. We werent given any water and spoons for rice and curry but we had to wait till the food got cold to ask for spoons because every staff ignored us. 7. The menu online is different than the ones in the restaurant. Some menus dont exist. 8. As an Asian, I can tolerate the smell of most things but the restaurant and food smells awful I lost my appetite. Read reviews and realized I wasnt the only one. I am ok with mistakes because it happens and Ive been a witress before too. But the attitudes were unacceptable. I never wrote a review because of a bad experience. I also read other reviews and the food poisoning review. There was no other reported food poisoning? That is NOT an apology. Please eat at other Banana Leaf location. Dont waste your money.
The decor and atmosphere is gorgeous! We had the chicken satays, roti canai, rendang beef, and sambal beans with shrimp! Everything was super good and lives up to their pre-existing locations. I thought the rendang beef looked small served in the coconut, but it was deceptively big!
I am sad to post this review because we have been looking forward to the opening of the Banana Leaf for a while. We love Malaysian food and were hoping for an alternative to the current ho hum selection of Asian food choices in South Surrey. We finally had a chance to order pick up this evening and it was awful. The food had no flavour seriously none! Not to mention the smallest portions we have seen for any take out we have experienced. We truly hope they can get it together before they reach the point of no return!
Long story short - the food was amazing, the service was attentive and friendly, and the interior is stunning and IG worthy. Ame here for lunch on a Friday and it was a little busy but no wait at all for a table for 4 ppl. Now on to the food... The chicken skewers were my favorite dish! Probably the best chicken satay skewers Ive had. I wish the peanut sauce was more peanuty but thats a personal preference. The eggplant fries were my next favorite. Not as crispy as fries (obviously, its eggplant) but the flavor was great. It comes with a Thai chili sauce which paired well but I didnt use that much. The hakka zhar yoke (deep fried pork belly) was so tender with a slight crisp from the flavorful coating. It also comes with a Thai chili sauce and I couldve eaten two of these. Nasi Goreng was also great. It wasnt as spicy as Id like but the flavor was still good with hint of sweet and saltiness. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. The roti canai was good but the other dished I mentioned were a outstanding so it got left behind a bit. I tried a little bit of the solo sampler that someone else ordered. The beef rendang was really tender and the curry sauce was okay. The fish that was included (Sable fish I think) really popped with tons of flavor! Something I would want to try a bigger portion of next time. The desserts were very good. I think my favorite would have to be the pandan coconut Panna cotta which surprised me. It just had this refreshing taste to it which ended the meal well. We also tried the deep fried banana (of course) and the pulut inti. The pulut inti was okay for me and the deep fried banana was good. Overall, an amazing meal. The kids loved it too. Well definitely be back.
Amazing
Average taste, decorated in Asian tropical style. Reminds me of my days in Southeast Asia
Amazing food!!!!!!! We cant get enough of this place! Portions were good, our kids loved the dishes we ordered. Highly recommend the Eggplant fries, roti canai, deep fried banana!
Great service, good value Skewer my favourite Food
It was a bit busy on the Tuesday night. But everything was delicious and servers are all friendly. Will definitely comeback! We ordered the 12 courses tasting menu, $59/per person. Valuable food and experience! Food
Our server was wonderful and the food was delicious
We had a wonderful experience at this dine-in place with a delightful atmosphere. The service was comfortable and enjoyable. Most of the dishes we ordered were a delight to our taste buds, The dish that truly surprised us was the eggplant fries. However, the only letdown was the pork ribs, which didnt match our expectations of a sweet and sour flavor profile. Despite this, the overall dining experience was great
My boyfriend and I love this restaurant! We ve come here multiple times and never had a negative experience. Delicious food, our favourite dish on the menu are the lamb satay skewers and the delicious dipping sauce with it.. yum!
Fantastic food and delightful staff and atmosphere!
Excellent customer service, we came here for happy hour food and got the haianese chicken, beef rendang, and the sambal green beans. Everything was fresh and tasty.
They renovated the place and looks really nice. The servers were really friendly. The food was much better than when they first opened. The roti is handmade from the kitchen and it was a popular dish. Would recommend it. The chicken skewers were good too. We also had sambal green beans and they were able to accommodate and make it not spicy. The green beans were still super flavourful. Would recommend the green beans. The parking lot get filled up so may have to park a bit further around dollarama and walk over. Reservations recommended as it was about half an hour wait for walk ins on Friday at 6pm.
Been here twice now. Both times the food tasted great. Second time around, we ordered the two person taster with 7 courses. Portions were kind of small considering the price, but the food was spot on - not overly salty or bland and tasted very good. Tbh I wouldnt call a bowl of rice a course though, more like a side order filler to compensate for the smaller portions. If I had a choice, Id replace it with a better sample to taste. I can make rice at home. Out of the 7 dishes, the braised beef curry was my least favourite. The beef was a bit chewy, but the curry nice. Was expecting the type of beef youd have at a Taiwanese noodle house, soft and melt in your mouth. This was not that. However, the chicken skewers were very tender, so maybe an off day. My favorite dishes were the salad and the fish. The fish was crispy and soft on the inside, just wish there was more of it. And the salad was one of the tastiest Ive ever had. Usually, salad is just leafy and plain with some dressing. This salad I could of eaten as an entire meal and been happy. Not sure what kind of dressing was used, but the peanuts and crunch from the fried (onions? - not entirely sure what it is) made me wanting more. Both times I came in for lunch with the wife. First time we were in and out fairly quickly. This time around it took a bit longer (over an hour). We had to take our dessert to go because service was a bit slow and we had to get back to work. It was quite a bit busier than the last time we were there, but I would have expected better service with all the people working. Usually, lunch time is in and out because people dont have time to waste. Maybe something to consider. Edit: Forgot to mention, I would def go back. Maybe even bring the kids.
Just finished lunch and it was excellent. Very attentive servers. Food was excellent. We had the Combination Plate for$59 for 2 people and it was great.
Always worth coming here. If its the weekend, make a reservation!
Celebration of birthday on a Monday evening at full satisfaction The authentic taste of Fusion Malaysian is highly praised Most of the 12 courses Signature Menu are soooooo delicious, with awesome presentation. Theres room for improvement of plating to make it shine to a 6 stars hotel grade ???
Fantastic place!
Love everything about this place. Very welcome environment, great food , excellent service, and happy hours almost all day long. What more could you ask for !!
Haven t had Banana Leaf in a long time but was delighted to have one open up so close to home! We got take out and it was delicious! My favourite was the roti and the pineapple fried rice. The hainanese chicken was so soft and tender. And the veggies were tasty too! Looking forward to eating in and trying more dishes in the future. $27 per person for 3 ppl, delivered by Uber Eats with coupon.
Good luck getting your food within a reasonable time or just wont get it on a Friday evening. Was told rice is delayed after telling the wait staff that almost all the dishes had arrived. We had to stop eating or there d be nothing left not knowing when the rice would arrive. Rice, roti canai all had to be requested after prolong delays, and one dessert never came at all. Rice had to be substituted as what was ordered had ran out. An Asian restaurant running out of cooked rice? There is a first time for everything it seems. We were asked if we wanted the dessert to go after another prolonged wait. We cancelled. Wont be back again and wont recommend. Too many other good places to eat to have to sit through prolong waits or no-shows of ordered food.
Food tastes awful and over priced. Strong bitter tastes for a few dishes. Owner seems to force customers to pay tips at minimum 18%. Won t recommend this place at all.
Fantastic experience
The curry laksa here is nice but the tofu and chicken is a bit hard and dry. Parking: Easily accessible from the side by parking at the back of the restaurant Food : 3/5 |
The place is beautifully decorated with many beautiful lights and hanging plants. The food is amazing especially the eggplant fries . It was an excellent experience.
This evening was our fourth visit since April and we enjoyed everything. Of course the quality and deliciousness of the food is paramount but Banana Leaf South Surrey is also a very welcoming place. The freshly renovated space in a light and modern way is lovely and so are the staff. They are especially busy Thursday to Sunday so be sure to make reservations. Dietary restrictions: I counted 3 gluten free dishes on the menu but there could be more as I didnt ask. Wheelchair accessibility: Very easy for wheelchairs and those with mobility issues due to spaciousness of restaurant.
Very good food and at a good price, fast service
Food is delicious as always. There was an item unavailable from my order (Nasi Lemak) which wasnt mentioned to me when I ordered but the manager was able to rectify the error in a professional manner leaving us with a positive experience. I appreciated that, thank you. See you again soon!
Wonderful food and service
the first visit was good, second and third okay then 4th visit was not good at all. not sure I am coming back or not at this time. we ordered over 10 dishes and 8 of them were not good. maybe different chef or short on material of dishes I may try in far future.
Tastes great! good service! Good environment! Good choice
This place is seriously awesome to eat at! The staff is amazing, they always make sure everythings going alright. The food here is fantastic! And the drinks wont break the bank. Im definitely gonna be back for more. We tried the beef skewers (which were amazing) and the chicken curry with veggies. Oh, and since Im allergic to eggplant, they were nice enough to leave it out for me. The chicken curry is a bit on the spicy side, so if youre into that, go for it! But if youre not a fan of the heat, just let them know and they can adjust it for you. All in all, Id totally bring all my family and friends to banana leaf. Its a place you dont wanna miss out on!
Banana Leaf consistently delivers an outstanding dining experience, never failing to impress with its authentic Malaysian flavors. It stands unrivaled in South Surrey, setting the bar high for Malaysian cuisine. Every visit reaffirms its status as the go-to destination for those seeking the best in taste and authenticity.
Good food, but the inexperienced servers struggled on a busy Saturday evening. We were 2 couples at a table and the other couples dishes arrived without any of ours. 10 minutes later, we received one dish. Then another 10 minutes passed before our second dish arrived. Meanwhile our friends finished eating. No one came back to check on us for food or drinks. Our third dish came when we were ready to leave! First and last visit.
Great first visit at this new restaurant. Lovely decor, attentive staff, clean washrooms, food beautifully presented and really tasty. We for sure will be back!
This place is special Incredibly good food, Attentive accommodating service, modern asian decor, beautiful plating and its very clean Best Asian food in lower mainland
food soso, no water refill, wait forever for the bill.
Had always enjoyed my meals at the downtown locations so was excited to learn we now had a local location. Hands down one of the best restaurants in South Surrey! Will be a regular customer
Such delicious food and bug servings!! Beautifully decorated restaurant. Definitely come back for their tasting menu.
Great food, we did the 12 course sampler and it was delicious with a wide variety of food
Love the ambience and the food is to die for! Been to their Vancouver locations for quite a few family occasions and this one didnt disappoint. First time trying this South Surrey location. The only gripe I have is the portion of their Lamb stew - which was a bit less compared to what we were used to, but then I guess, we can blame that to inflation. Overall, still it was quite a gastronomic treat! Will come back for sure!
Unreal experience. The interior is gorgeous. The management & service is elite + the food is authentic & delicious. Worth every penny. Andy served us and was helpful + branch manager Cecelia provided some extra service. 10/10 experience. Strongly recommend
Happy to see Banana Leaf open in Surrey. Amazing food, good service and clean space. Will def come back for more!
Wow, what an amazing food experience. The food was top-notch, and the service was incredible. I felt like I was at home with family and friends. Our server Andy went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
We did try the 7-course tasting lunch, and were impressed by the explosion of flavor, presentation, and attentive service. We did enjoy each of the courses - all equally delicious and flavorful (though servings are a bit small!). If you are not sure what to order, try the tasting menu - highly recommended! While every dish was excellent, our faves were the tender satay chicken, the fish fillet and the sauces! Restaurant is brand new and tastefully designed with well equipped/clean washrooms (with mouthwash!). Plenty of free parking in the area. This place is a gem! Will be back soon to savor the rest of its menu!
So nice to see Banana Leaf has a location in South Surrey... Excellent food and great service from Irene. Will definitely be back for more delicious food.
We love Andy Wong, excellent service, very warm and welcoming place to eat great food with nice environment. We will come again. Andy made the best recommendation! He deserves a raise! from, Peter Sie, Dora Hee, Danny Sie and family, Ben and Grace Sie. Parking: Very good free parking
First time in this fantastic restaurant, and we fall in love with it. Not only the amazing food experience, but the people and decor inside! Cecelia is such a nice lady and she provided great service. And with her sweet personality, it just lighten up our family dinner ;) we tried the 12 course set, highly recommend for the first time visit foodies, you can try out so many different signature dishes at once with such a good price, only $59 per person. Even comes with lobster in the course. Already miss the food there, will definitely dig more when we are back!
It s very rare you come across a restaurant with excellent food, excellent service and great ambiance, and this Banana Leaf location ticks all those boxes. I was with there recently with my wife and we loved everything about it. The staff were very genuinely nice and friendly. This is our favourite restaurant in the neighbourhood!! Highly recommended.
Food tastes authentic and great! Portion size could be bigger for the price (sable fish and beef curry). Atmosphere is excellent. Very crowded during dinner times.
As I work downtown I m a regular at Banana Leaf Broadway and love the food there. I was over the top excited to see this restaurant open across the street from the busy South Point Cactus. After a soft opening the restaurant is now fully engaged. I arrived by myself and was seated against a divider mid room. I ordered my favs roti, peanut chicken satay and kung pow chicken. Food choices were dropped off as they were prepared. The roti and skewers were as o expected delicious. However the kung pow arrived looking too dark colour from what I had experienced Throughout eating this I encountered crunchy granuals that I thought were glass initially. Upon further examination I believe were over cooked and burnt peppercorns. I didn t finished it. I waited perhaps 20 minutes for anyone to visit my table again to express my concern or get a bill eventually got up and went to reception to pay. After standing there for 5 mins the lady who sat me asked where I was sitting, daaah, paid and left. To summate the service was way below anyone s standard, dish appeared overcooked and burnt, lastly way overpriced. Parking: Challenging parking with stupidly busy Cactus staff and patrons taking all the spots up.
A fun night with friends with good food and service in an enjoyable atmosphere. Vegetarian options: A good selection is available. Food : 5/5 |
The pineapple fried rice and satay skewers were delicious.
Food is good. Service is also good. Very busy place. Wheelchair accessibility: It is wheelchair accessible Food : 4/5 |
Their food , environment and service was excellent. I appreciate it that their whole team sing birthday song to me. Rice was wrapped in real banana leaves. Curry dishes and panacotta are delicious. Staff very kind and caring. Lots of free parking.
Great food!
very poor ( NO! ) service asks way too much for tips on bill cheapest vegetables possible poorly cooked checked place out for my business wont be back Vegetarian options: poor
I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Banana Leafs new location in White Rock, and it surpassed all expectations. Having previously visited their Vancouver spot, I was pleasantly surprised to find that this new establishment raised the bar even higher. The quality of the food was truly outstanding, with flavors that delighted my taste buds and left a lasting impression. The decor at The Banana Leaf White Rock is nothing short of superb. The ambiance is inviting, creating a perfect setting for an enjoyable dining experience. What truly stood out, however, was the impeccable customer service. The staff was not only friendly but also incredibly efficient. I was impressed by the speed at which my order was taken and served without compromising on the warmth of their service. A highlight of my visit was when the chef personally came out to inquire about any specifications I had for my dish. This level of attention to customer preferences is rare and greatly appreciated. It added a personalized touch to the dining experience, making me feel valued as a customer. The service remained consistently friendly and fast throughout my time at The Banana Leaf White Rock. The portions were not only impeccable but also generously sized, ensuring that every bite was a satisfying one. The culinary expertise displayed in each dish highlighted the dedication to quality that sets this restaurant apart. In conclusion, I highly recommend The Banana Leafs new White Rock location to anyone seeking a delightful culinary adventure. From the impeccable customer service to the amazing food and generous portions, this restaurant truly excels in providing a memorable dining experience. Its a gem that deserves recognition, and I cant wait to return for another exceptional meal.
