All the food is yummy!!! Nasi goreng kampung is the bomb! I love it! Watch out for three taste fish, super duper spicy! But goooood! The restaurant was closed when we went there on Tuesday but the owner was very kind, just open the restaurant for me and my friends because we came all the way from Washington. Alhamdulillah
This authentic Malaysian Thai Family restaurant is the best restaurant that I ever tried here in greater Vancouver area. The food is awesome all the spices sauce that they added to their food are perfect. I highly recommend this place and will definitely comeback here. I love their sweet n sour Tilapia, salted fish fried rice, eggplant sambal, chicken satay , soup.
Delicious authentic halal Malaysian food! Definitely recommended!
Hidden gem tucked just right behind guilford mall. Small shop run by a couple. Sits about 20 people in the store. Food are made to order , so expect a little bit of wait. But they do serve out pipping hot. Parking in the back of the building with limited lots. But there arr street parking nearby.
Great "hole-in-the-wall" type of restaurant run by a mom and pop. Food prices are quite cheap with most dishes under 20 dollars. Special highlights are the Laksa Penang if you love very fishy laksas. And Char Kwey Teow.
Mek's made my weekend lunch amazing with Kempung Fried rice and beef rendung. OMG, The beef is something I'd love to eat again and again! It's close to a Bengali dish called Mejbani beef, but less spicy/hot. So obviously Beef rendang got 5/5. For the Kempung Fried rice, one shouldn't try if they don't like the flavour of dried fish, here anchovies. We finished lunch with Malaysian tea- Teh Terik. Tea had a different flavor, taste ok. Looking forward to next visit to try rest of the items on the menu, specially the Roti canai, chicken satay and Fish items. Caution: it's an old couple run family business, small place with cozy seating arrangement. Serving food takes time, ours took around 30/35 mins). Also, weekend lunch time is very busy, tough to get a table. So pls have patience and enough time to enjoy the food.
If you want to enjoy good authentic Malay food, this is the place! It’s a small restaurant owned and run by a family. I wasn’t aware of this gem until I searched for restaurants on Google maps. I tried Tomyam fried rice and it was good and spicy! Staff is nice and friendly!
What a food experience the fried rice took me back to malaysia. The food is one of the best hidden gems in Surrey. Two elderly couple runs the whole cooking and my goodness the taste was 10/10. Would definitely recommend every item in the menu but my favorite was the Tom yum fried rice
Nah. I got yelled at by the male owner for a missed order (which was their fault entirely.) I should have called the police for assault.
Food was amazing, 10/10, we got the laksa and char kwey teoh and both were perfect balance of spice, sweet and savoury. Reminds us of food we ate in Indonesia/Thailand.
We happen to stop by for some food while waiting for our car to be serviced. Zack and Mek were great, the customer service was really good and they even sat and chatted with us after we ate our meal as we have visited both Thailand and Malaysia. The food was great, the crispy chicken was amazing. We will for sure be back!
Very authentic Malaysian and Thai food, atmosphere not that great but food makes up for it! Family owned business, small but delicious food, friendly service, just like eating in Malaysia, great spicy fish entrees on menu, prices very, very reasonable, a must try if youre into ethnic food.
so so so delicious! The best authentic Malaysia atmosphere (food) for me and my friends. We like here. Mee Go/Ma frid noodles are amazing
I love it so much. Me and my family went there to try all the foods and they are 10/10. Lovely people too.
True and authentic. Enjoy the food and the husband and wife that run it!
With its reasonable prices, generous portions, and authentic flavors, Meks Delight earns its spot as a gem in the local dining scene. Whether youre craving a comforting bowl of Laksa or looking to explore new tastes, this restaurant delivers a memorable Malaysian dining experience. Vegetarian options: The Tofu dish was good.
Ayam Penyet here took me back to the good old times in Singapore. The sambal balachan is on point, hot and full of taste as it should be. I wish they serve cucumber and tofu goreng instead of garden salad for the ayam penyet. One of the most authentic Malaysian/Indonesian/Singaporean food Ive ever experienced in BC.
Delicious Malaysian!
Was there with my friend. Owner was cold and was sarcastic to tell us to give more tips. It was our first time there but will be the last too. Food was ok but we will go back to Malaysian Hut, which is just the next block, better food and service too.
Delicious food but need to improve the service..
Mee goreng mamak + beef is to die for! The kids were so happy with the pink Air Bandung. Super friendly Malay + Thai couple owner. Food
We had tomyam soup, red curry and pad thai. They were all sooooooo good! Definitely coming back!
One of the hidden gem of surrey, i have stopped counting how many times i have been there, the owner is very friendly, always had a great chat with them, must recommend their crispy chicken rice
Waited around one hour for food. There were lesser staffs which is understandable but the behaviour was poor and rude. After waiting 45minutes when asked about the food they literally said we dont care! Expecting minimum decency atlest from the owners/staffs.
Closed when map+ automated line said it should be open
Disgusting place and so are the OWNERS. If you wanna have a really bad day and maybe have good food maybe.. this is the go to place.
Great personable owner, food is very delicious and made to order piping hot.Only halal Malaysian food in Surrey and everything was very delicious Vegetarian options: Mixed sauted vegetables was very fresh and yummy
The food was sooooo good, I ve ate at several Malaysian restaurants and this one was definitely the best. I ve heard around from Malaysians that this place was the most authentic so I gave it a try. The Chicken Satay was sooo good I recommend 10000%. The staff was also super kind and even offered me a space to pray after I broke my fast, they were very kind people and attentive to us as customers!!
The food was amazing! And I was so happy they have halal food. Definitely going back to try their other dishes
Best Halal foods ever. Food was so tasty and delicious. They are generous and friendly. Environment was cozy . Enjoy the whole time .
Good restaurant friendly
Very disappointing! Chicken was fine but I didnt expected to get couple of bones with little meat on it and mango salad had absolutely no mango in it, just some chopped carrots some other stuff and gross amount of garlic. Not worth the money!!!
Delicious food and good service.
Very decent Malaysian mom and pop restaurant, food is delicious and portions are generous. When i crave fried rice, I just drop by here
Great little hole in the wall for some home cooking. I had the laksa and my friends had the beef rendang and chicken curry. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and we will definitely be back if were working in the area. I asked for durian dessert the next time back so maybe theyll bring some in.
Authentic tasting Malaysian foods. The taste I love! Great mee goreng and more.
The beef rendang is one of the best Ive had.
If you are looking authentic Malaysian halal food .I would like to recommend Meks Delight . Its in surrey .Two elderly couple runs the restaurent .I took fried rice with fried chicken the taste was 8.5/10.
Overlooked gem. Authentic flavours and solid ingredients at a fair price.
Best Malaysian food
Worth trying.
Food is amazing! Full of pure flavors.
Simply the best
The best Malaysian restaurant in Canada! Their Laksa is simply divine. Ive had laksa from various places, and theirs is absolutely the best. Oh, and you must try their chicken rice, tomyum, and fried rice - they are all incredibly delicious!
Excellent service, super fresh and delicious food. I will definitely be Returning.
Best Laksa ever!! Super friendly, sweet people who work here definitely will be back soon! Google maps says they re permanently closed but that s not true they re open 11:30-8:00 everyday except Tuesday!
I tried Mek s Delight on my friends recommendation. He said try the Laksa spicy but very good. Yes I had to look up what laksa meant . Spicy noodle soup Omgosh this was so so good, wonderful heat that was so satisfying warmed me up after a long day of study. The Wife and Husband owners were very friendly, and shared they make their recipes in house with spices from home. I finished my meal with the homemade Malaysian tea, another taste delight. Will I come back, most definitely. Next time the three taste fish! Thank you, thank you
Friendly owner, reasonable price, fresh taste, will definitely come back again!
Semua sedap! Everything was delicious and portions were generous, good for sharing!
Very tasty! Brings back memories with of malaysia
Great food and great service! Best beef rendang and crispy chicken in BC! Papaya salad is highly recommended. Laksa is so rich and yummy. Will definitely come back!
This restaurant has been closed fo a while but has not updated it online. Very inconvenient for people who come only to see it is closed
Theyre never open. The board says its closed till 28th May. Ive been here twice, and both times its closed.
Waited over an hr for takeout in the restaurant
Great portions, honest small family business, authentic food from that region of asia (Thailand Malaysia etc)
Yummy food halal
Delicious authentic Malaysian food. Dietary restrictions: Halal Parking: Parking lot in the back
The lady is very loud and sometimes sounds rude. But the husband and son are very nice and welcoming. Loved the Malaysian food. Have the spicy sambal.
Roti was on the pricey side and the sauce not seasoned well and watery. Cash and debit only. No credit card payment
Food is always beyond delicious
Amazing Thai and Malaysian food! Very authentic and tasty, good portions
Unfortunately I had to change my review. The food quality has gone down since couple of weeks. I can see the meat has been defrosted and I have also noticed hair in my food. The price has been increased as well.
So we came here for lunch, ordered the Char Kuey Teow and asked for it to be not spicy, we are there with our children and they dont eat spicy. And any Malaysian restaurant weve been to, this has never been a problem. So it comes out and its spicy. So my children wont eat it. But I felt bad because it is a mom and pop shop, so I forced myself to eat it anyway, but it was even too spicy for me. So we tell the owner that it was spicy and we ordered not spicy. The owner decides to lecture us on how if we wanted it to not be spicy that we should have should have told him so that he would he would have prepared the dish differently. We reminded him that we did ask for it to not be spicy and it is clearly written down on the order sheet NO SPICY. He then backs down from his rant, and asks us, still with some arrogance, So what do you want me to do?, and at this point, we just want to go, I didnt want him to make another one or to comp us for their mistake. We just paid the bill and went on our way, very disappointed and angry at our experience at this restaurant. As an owner of a restaurant, this is not how you treat your customers. If you made a mistake, own up to it, say you are sorry, and make it right.
Amazing halal food, reasonably priced, great taste.
Best Thai food I ve ever had in my whole life!! Caring and kind staff! Will be back soon inshallah
Yummmmmm! Laksa and beef Rendang were absolutely delicious.
Amazing food! If youd like a great and tasty meal, I definitely recommend Meks
My favourite restaurant. Food and taste of great. You can enjoy really Malaysia and some of Thailand food.
Food here if u know what to order is flawless , one of the best mee goreng iv had , comparable to back home malaysian style , fried chicken is amazing , true authetic malaysian taste , highly recommend this place if u want the real deal malay flavor .
Came here on a rainy Sunday because we were in the area. What a delightful find. We ordered the roti and chicken skewers for our kids - they loved it! I ordered the Laksa - it was loaded with chicken, veggies, and flavour. My husband ordered the Kelantan Chicken Curry and it was a bit underwhelming. The portion for the chicken curry was a bit small and lacked flavour, and rice had to be ordered separately. Overall, for the price (approx $65) and quality of food, we would come back again and try some other items on their menu.
This is a small family restaurant run by a Malay couples which has been around since 2013 (if I m not mistaken chatting with the owners), but yet I just discovered it last week and decided to give it a try during my week off. We ordered Laksa and Nasi Lemak only because just two of us otherwise I would have ordered more food to try out. Both dishes are very delicious and authentic, I have tried many Malaysian restaurants and I can say this is probably the most authentic Malaysian food I have ever have in town. When i entered the restaurant, the environment reminds me of small family restaurant back in Malaysia, there is no waiters just the owners themselves, don t expect 5 star environment and service here, but if you come for the food you won t be disappointed here. I d highly recommend to anyone who crave for authentic Malaysian food in vancouver.
I was in search of Malaysian food for my moms 70th birthday dinner. I called the restaurant one day in advance and even though the restaurant is closed to the public on Tuesdays, the owner Isha still agreed to take my order and cooked a delicious feast on such short notice! My entire family LOVED all the dishes as they were very tasty. Thank you again, Isha, for accomodating our request. You helped to make my moms dinner celebration a memorable one and we will gladly continue to support your business! Best wishes for the new year!! :)
Good Malaysian food here! The owners were friendly and began serving us promptly. Our order came pretty quick and at while we were there the restaurant was completely empty. The food was super fresh and hot. Only issues I might be concerned about is that the restaurant itself was very cold to one of the members in our party and the price points for the food is quite high. But, the quality was good and it tasted authentic.
Excellent food and lovely locally owned restaurant. A taste of South East Asia for when you cant get away!
I ordered the laksa and mee goreng. What can I say it was really average. I found a lot of egg shells in my food and the price is too overpriced for the small proportions. The food also took a long time despite us being the only two customers there. There was cocomelon blasted on the tv when there was no babies. The total came to 30 dollars and when I gave fourty dollar expecting change the cashier asked if I wanted my change back? I personally found that laughable as he wanted a ten dollar tip while not wearing a mask and coughing around
Amazing food, great chef, very pleasant environment, and service is great. If you want a great authentic Southeast Asian experience don t miss this place
Authentic Malaysian food! The nasi lemak is delicious.
Love this place, perfectly great authentic food and drinks and atmosphere. I thought it might fill my desire to go to Malaysia but it made me want to go there even more!!
Delicious food
Food is ok but sometimes the owner isnt friendly.
Yummy
Home style authentic malay fare. Well rounded menu a bit of all styles available.
The best authentic halal Malay Food
Not worth the money spent
Food was ok but As you can see the calculation was wrong and I also tipped them when I paid my bill. This is a restaurant with mathematical problem.
Highly recommend!!
Good food, good staff. They need to update their restaurants look. Its quite old looking. Food
Excellent service and excellent food
What s special about Mek s Delight? Well, it s a tiny family kitchen with a five-table dining area run by a middle aged Malaysian couple who offer small portions of both Malaysian and Thai cuisines at relatively high price. Food is tasty, but not really my cup of tea as I am not a Malaysian nor a Thai. My husband and I ordered coconut rice cooked with coconut milk, Kelantan Curry Chickens made with a traditional northern Malay curry, and the famous Beef Rendang which is supposed to be simmered overnight with coconut milk and spices, and which is supposed to be tender enough to melt in the mouth. But Mek s Beef Rendang is different from the one we had tasted in Indonesia - Mek s Beef doesn t melt; it s chewy! One thing, however, I do like about Mek s Delight is their slogan written on the wall mirror: To live well is to eat well!
Pretty pricey for such small portions. Roti Canai was $9 for 2 small rotis and a tiny cup of curry sauce. The meal tasted fine but there are other places more worth your money.
Amazing food.
Wonderful place to eat
Id have given a 4 star for the food but portion is very small for the expensive price. I ended up making more noodles at home to get my fill. The restaurant is also very cramped feels like someones family kitchen in Asia. They seem to have their Malaysian/Thai regulars and converse yelling across the room. We had to take our food to go. Tasty food but I recommend taking it to go.
Authentic delicious Malaysian restaurant. Aunty always makes the best food and uncle makes the best teh tarik (tea). I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a piece of Malaysia and every Malaysian who misses home.
Always wanted to try this place... finally did.. I am a fried chicken lover so I had.to try their fried chicken and fried rice.. it was so simple and so good...it was so good even after the 20 min ride home in the the out container. I first entered and it felt like I was intruding on them when I asked for a menu so I can order for take-out. BTW it is a CASH ONLY place.
Great food
Congratulations to the son of Kelantan (heir)
Really impressed with the service I got from this place, great food a must go..
Nuanced flavours with excellent spice points. Its like an adventure in your mouth!
Very bad customer service. Waited for so long but no one respond to take order .I would not recommend this place. We had to just go away
Picked up some chicken satay, laksa & pad Thai and everything was absolutely delicious. Not only did everything have a lot of flavor but was loaded with veggies and chicken. My definite go to place for Malay food!
This is definitely a hidden gem. Everyone must try their spiced chicken, its so delicious and flavourful. But literally every single menu item is delicious! Operated by a couple of humble husband and wife. I hope Meks continue to thrive past-pandemic!
authentic malay cuisine, hidden gem, very friendly ***** chicken rice, bandung, beef rendang, thai tea, char kway teow *****
Weve order from this place multiple times and have been disappointed every single time! They gave a dish that was old (seemed reheated) with taste and texture being off. Once they quoted 40 min wait for takeout. When we arrived after 40 mins, they still hadnt started our order and asked what we wanted to order. Another time they misunderstood and prepared the wrong dish. Instead of acknowledging their mistake they were putting the blame on us--the ones who speak clear english and gave a very simple order. The owner has such a careless attitude. Never going back to this place and I would not recommend it.
Server was rude,and impolite.
Super Friendly and tasty... Love when we order the spicy chicken and the aroma coming from the kitchen as they make it... The tea Tarik is amazing.
Cannot go wrong! So fresh and yummy! Real Authentic and Halal Malaysian food! Been going here for over 5 years. Run by a lovely couple
The best Won ton soup Ive ever had! Very good home style Malay/Sing food. The Roti Cani is the best in Surrey. If you eat those mi goreng dry noodles at home n you need to try the real thing here at Meks (same name)
Walked out after ordering... Completely rude.... never tried the food.
O spent two years in Malaysia as a student, and we I had was the local cuisine. The closest thing that Ive had away for Malaysia is Meks. The nasi lemak is my favorite! Give it a try!
Great family owned restaurant and the food as fantastic.
I think Meks have really authentic Malaysian food! After trying many other restaurants around the GVA, this one tops the cake. I really like their beef rendang, mee mamak, and roti canai. They even have teh tarik!!! The mee mamak was really spicy, but delicious. I will definitely come back to try the rest of their menu.
We went to this restaurant recommended to us by a friend, looking for an authentic Malaysian cuisine. Oh boy did we find it, the food was fantastic! As the deep and complex flavours of Malaysia are present in every bite which went down well with Teh tarik (a country favourite). It was well worth the 40 minute drive for us, if you are in the area or not in the area I would recommend trying this restaurant to show some support for local restaurants
Yummy. My favorites is the papaya salad. Wonton soup. Sumbel (probably spell wrong). Their drinks.
Small cozy place, the food was good.
Extremely expensive and the portions are so small. Not worth the money!!
Authentic Malaysian food consistently good.
Very authentic and good quality food. People from Kerala will find it very similar to their cusine.
Excellent quality and freshly prepared food.
The roti chanai is good. A bit oily, though. Dont miss the fried chicken. It is good.
Love this hidden gems. Authentic flavour. I will be back. Thanks!!
Omg I have never been to a restaurant with such bad customer service. We d never go here or recommend someone to step into this store (I asked them why the fish is expensive) Reply Go buy your fish and cook to yourself if you want cheap fish
It s our nth times here, absolutely delicious food and fantastic service.
Great family run restaurant. I go back every week
Highly recommended if youre looking for authentic Malaysian food & teh tarik!! The crispy chicken rice, mee goreng mamak, tom yam soup , a must try!
This is an unassuming restaurant with a lovely couple at the helm. The Malaysian tea, beef rendang, eggplant sambal, and papaya salad were top notch. We will definitely return to sample more!!
The food is amazing!!!! Authentic and delicious. Very reasonable. Highly recommended
Mek s Delight was recommended by a friend when we llwere discussing about Halal restaurant for South East Asian food. Interior was simple & clean, there s only 5 tables in the restaurant, so come early or call them first. Parking was plentiful at the back of the restaurant. The place is run by a husband & wife team, wife is from Kelantan, Malaysia & hubby is from Thailand. Hence the combination of Malaysian & Thai food. Very friendly & attentive service despite a 2 person team. We ordered fried rice with fried chicken, Nasi Lemak (coconut rice), Chicken Briyani, Mee Goreng, & Rendang. The flavour of the dishes was spot on, the fried chicken was extremely tasty, the flavour went right into the meat with a crispy skin. Who doesn t like crispy chicken skin? The Chicken Briyani was good, even better with the small bowl of curry that comes with the Briyani rice. Mee Goreng was authentically yummy! I am going to order that the next time. The coconut rice (Nasi Lemak), the rice was so fragrant, it is cooked with lemongrass which gives off a very lovely smell beside the taste. The beef Rendang was expensive but so worth it, you can taste that it is made from scratch.. the beef was so tender that it melts in your mouth, we ordered a side of rice to go with it such a marriage made in your mouth. We also ordered Thai iced tea & tea tarik We will be back!
Unfortunately this place has seen a downward decline in food quality and quantity while prices went up. Came here years ago with a great experience and food! Decided it s been a while and I should go again I have an upset stomach now. Ordered 3 items with chicken but little to no chicken was to be found. Ordered fried rice that wasn t fired, and noodles that looked and tasted like leftovers. I am very disappointed as this place used to be great! That being said went to McDonald s after as we could not bare the food which we paid over $60 for and boy was McDonald s better! I wish I didn t have to be posting this review but it s just not the same anymore!
The owner was so rude we walked out.
A little too expensive for portion size.. Seems like family operate as cooks n staff...Husband a little on the rude side when it came to customer needs...Wife is friendy! Not my favorite spot!!!!!!!
Food was tasty
Despite the tasty food I can not in good conscience give this anything more than 1 star. First of all, they didnt hesitate to overcharge me the second time I came in there for a take out order. I only discovered it later when I checked the menu prices. The service is atrocious if youre walking in. They will not sit you down, we were ignored for five minutes at the door in an empty restaurant until we decided to sit ourselves down and were given attitude when I finally had to call for someone over later. They got our order wrong twice, forgot to give us utensils, cups with no water, and forgot an order so my party had to sit there for half an hour wondering where our food was. The reception Ive seen them give malaysians was completely different. For us it was incredibly cold and unwelcoming. I like the food unfortunately
A cute little place with tasty food and that too Halal! Will be back to try some more dishes.
We ordered 3 roti kanais they only gave 1 small curry and one small chutney. Since we ordered 3 we were expecting that he will give us 3 curries.Cheap tricks duping the customer and not giving the full dish. Horribly unprofessional
I use to go once a week minimum. I would get the mee goring in bulk (3orders at a time). Even when I moved to richmond I would still make special trips just for the mee goring. Sadly yesterday I found the restaurant had a internal make over, new staff and possibly the saddest mee goring I have ever had. Portions was much smaller, it was missing a tone of traditional ingredients (shrimp, tomatoes, soy cubs and sprouts) and was no where near as spicy as it use to. It is a sad day for me.... I now look for a new place to get my addiction of mee goring. RIP Meks Delight.
Great authentic Malaysian food. Small restaurant with limited seating but great service and great food
The service is really good n the food is very good
The food is quite good, and looking forward to trying the deep-fried pomfret pompano fish with special sauce. Review to be updated with pictures. UPDATE: Had the pompano and added rice and the chilli paste which is quite spicy. Loved IT! Well worth the visit.
Fried chicken is crispy on the outside and tender inside . Satay and Beef Rendang are our favourite
Amazing authentic Malaysian food. Really great. Owners are super friendly. Really felt at home here. Mee goreng was delicious. Nasi lemak was also really nice! Definitely must try and I will be back for sure.
I am having such a great experience. The food is cooked by the local Malaysian which makes the food taste very authentic. I feel like I have been brought back to one of Kedai Mamak in Malaysia. Thanks :)
Good food but so sad that the customer service is non existence. The owner yelled at me and kicked me out of the restaurant. I called for a pick up order; dinner for 5 people. Asked how long it would take. He said 45 mins. But i was in a hurry and asked him if he could make it faster. And he said yes no problem. He he had said no he cant then i would have ordered food somewhere else as i was really in a hurry. But since he said yes i trusted him and placed an order. When i got there, it had past 45mins expecting my order to be ready. But it wasnt. The owner told me it will take about 15 more minutes. No sorry no nothing... so i was a bit upset by his attitude so i said come on... next time just tell me it will take longer on the phone so that i can make a different plan. And he gave me this attitude ive never experienced as a customer haha.. unreal how he was littereally about to punch me. So i left (more like kicked out) After i picked up my food and left, he called me thinking he was gonna apologize. But he said, we forgot Roti in your order. So if you give me your address i can deliver to you hahaha but i didnt want to tell him my address because it would be my concern if he knew my address. You never know. Anyways, so sad... i liked the food here. But i will never return here again. FYI. Food is good but the portion is very small.
Glad to see them open again. Excellent food with reasonable price
The food is ways excellent. The prices are however a but on the high side compared to the serving sizes.
Foods good. Won ton not so great.
Good food and friendly staff.
Definitely call ahead if youre looking to do take out. It was around 1pm when we called on Saturday and it took about 25 minutes. We ordered the nasi lemak and Malaysian chicken rice. Both came with crispy fried chicken where it was cooked crispy on the outside and still juicy on the inside. Id recommend the teh tarik as well. This is a different take on milk tea with condensed milk that was delicious! This was a cash only place!
Meks is my familys favorite restaurant! I usually dine in with my Malaysian mother in law and now we take out during covid. The owner knows my order and is always there taking orders and answering the phone himself. Food is authentic (the owner speaks Malay with my mother in law while we are there) and they make the best Malaysian food youll find in Metro Vancouver - we have tried them all. Definitely recommend the spiced chicken, mee mamak, lamb curry, curry puff when they have it, and roti. The sauce that comes with the roti is made just for that dish, and you wont find anything like it elsewhere. The portions arent massive but are certainly priced appropriately and allow you to order a variety. They just completed a renovation so I cant wait to dine in again.
Meks Delight is a hidden gem in Surrey. Their food takes me back to my families cooking from my moms side in Malaysia. Will be coming here more often!
The food is authentically Malaysian, delicious and consistent. The food always gets a seal of approval from my Malaysian mom. I am never disappointed with the roti canai, spiced chicken, and curry puff. Its small so expect a wait or not to sit right away during busy times.
The laksa was fantastic
First impressions, amazing! I only wish they had longer hours. I will for sure be coming back here again.
First i apologize for the low quality photo that didnt give justice to the authetic tasting food that this resto offers. The staff was friendly to help you go around the menu. The papaya salad was my favorite it has sweet and tingy taste with a kick of spiciness. The beef was melting on my mouth best paired with coconut rice which is like filipino suman (sticky rice rolled and wrap on banana leaves). Mee goreng was ok maybe if i ask for a little spiciness it will suit my buds more. The finale was the teh tarik (tea) it was heavenly . I wish i could add pearls too coz boba is life . Over all the experience was worth it and definetly thinking of coming back regularly. (Recomended by a friend who had also a recomendation from a friend.)
Ordered the Malaysian style Biryani and fried chicken and rice. Satisfied with the taste. Portions however only for 1.
Authentic, hole-in-the-wall restaurant. I was surprised at how small it is inside. I thought the food was okay, nothing amazing. The owners here are very welcoming and kind. We spent $35 on two people including drinks and tip.
This is a great little Malaysian and Thai hole in the wall! The food is always delicious, and they make a mean Teh Tarik. The service is friendly as well, so long as they arent too busy for a little bit of socializing!
The food is good although it has gotten a bit pricey. The spicy chicken and herb rice are my favourites.
try the 3 taste fish. is amazing
food is good but service really bad. the owner has an attitude and will never admit making a mistake. and will tell u off like nothing
Great food, kind people
I love the food. So delicious and the people there are so friendly. 2 years later and the food is still great! The crunchy chicken is the best. Mek and Zak are the best people. Always remember us.
Authentic Malaysian food very flavorful and yummy!
Really good food the chili chicken is amazing as well as their Mee Goreng
Love the food. Amazing reminds me of malaysia
Go for homestyle Malaysian food when youre not in a rush at this family-owned restaurant. Could probably call ahead and put in an order before you get there.
Pretty good food. Will likely try it again.
The best Malay style Malaysian food you can find in Metro Vancouver. Period.
Had take out for 4 for dinner. Ordered 2 Roti Canai, 1 Chicken Satay w/extra peanut sauce, Crispy Chicken Fried Rice, Pineapple Fried Rice & Prawn Char Kway Teow. The flavours were amazing! I could drink the curry sauce that came with the roti, it was that good. Unfortunately the rice noodles in the Char Kway Teow, although they had a really nice kick of heat, were severely overcooked & extremely mushy. The restaurant is very small with only 4 or 5 tables & a little run down. The customer service is friendly. The prices are a little high for the portions, but the flavours more than make up for it. The menu is somewhat limited. I would definitely try this place again, if for nothing else the curry sauce but would take a pass on The Char Kway Teow.
Authentic south east asian food that makes me feel like Im in Malaysia whenever I eat here. The food is amazing and the family that owns/runs this place are so kind. Love the homey atmosphere! Moved out of Surrey and this is one of the places I miss the most!
If you re looking for authentic Malaysian food, this is a decent place to go. I ordered the tilapia and it was mouthwatering. The service was mediocre and the food was a little pricey for the amount that you get, but it was delicious. The place is quite small and it could use some improvement. Also, the waiting time was fairly long.
The food is acceptable, but the place needs alot of improvement and more cleaning. The utensils looks gross.
The service was ridiculously slow at this restaurant. There are only 5 tables, but we had to wait 1 hour after ordering to get our food and 35 minutes for drinks! The server didnt even apologize for the long wait, he just slammed the plates on the table and said, Here is your food. We saw a pregnant couple behind us who ended up leaving the restaurant after their food didnt arrive in 1 hour.
Great food, will be back.
Will never come back again.. small portion, taste just okay, and pricey!
Delicious Malaysian food!
Good food but the portions have been getting smaller over the last couple of years.
Really good home cooked meals. I liked the fact they serve on the same plates I have at home <3
First time at this restaurant. Friendly owners. Food was very tasty at a reasonable price. Portions were alright but only tiny bits of chicken meat on Laksa & Red Curry. Rendang was delicious and saucy. Hopefully they add more meat on those dishes. Overall, I will still recommend this place and will try it again.
Authentic Malaysian restaurant..
Great food and friendly service
Too pricy and limited options
Great food.
Been here on a busier day though this time the food was okay. I think I enjoyed the food better in the past. The service is friendly and fast. Would come back but dont expect too much.
