Good chicken

Dry and poorly cooked chicken. All staff were exclusively LMIA from Punjab India and had very poor command of the English language. Will definitely not be going back for a dirty restaurant that feels like Im dining in a small Indian village. Do yourself a favor and dont support this garbage hole. Go somewhere else that understands hygiene.

Food was delicious (the chicken sandwich ordered was juicy and sauce on point), the Peri fries nice and crispy, and the service was great! Server kept coming by to make sure everything was great

Better than Nandos!! Loved the tangy lemon chicken, peri fries were delish (hot and crispy) garlic bread was fab (soft in the middle, toasty on the outside) and the hot sauces were next level!! Food

Food was good and affordable. 2 chicken thighs, 1 side, and 1 drink, is about CDN $16.99. They will tell if they have promotion to save money. Atmosphere could be better. Parking and Wi-Fi are available for free. Hot sauces are spicy, even for Asian taste.

This is a fun place. You order at the counter and get your own drink from the soda fountain and then sit and they will bring you your food. We had a long wait but enjoyed our food. We would go back. Also, the level of seasoning you choose doesn t seem to have much to do with spiciest, but it was flavorful.

The food and service are excellent, and this location is ideal for hanging out, celebrating, and spending time with friends and family or couples. We had the Chicken Sandwich; it tasted extremely excellent.

Ambience great, service great, food awesome. Loved the flavors and you can still add more from their signature sauces (but dont understand whats the difference between ordering with a certain flavour and adding something on top). Very clean and well maintained space. Plenty of room for big groups.

We got the full chicken and two burgers. The chicken of the burger was good but the full chicken was a bit dry. Both were fairly disappointing in terms of taste as we got the very peri and it didnt taste good. This is not as good as Nandos.

Delicious, fair portions, relaxing ambiance! Barcelos tastes great, and in my opinion, offers better value for your dollar than other grilled chicken places! A group of friends and I decided to eat out after playing in a volleyball tournament. Needless to say, we were quite hungry and wanted something savoury and satisfying. When we walked in, the first thing we noticed was how spacious the restaurant was! We ordered the Super Family Pack (2 Whole Chicken, 3 Large Sides, 4 Rolls or Garlic Toast). Everything was served in a timely manner and the chicken was juicy, tender, and flavourful. Peri fries were crispy and the garlic toast was scrumptious! The portions were filling us 4-5 adults and we still had some to take home afterwards. Overall, we all enjoyed our meal and would definitely return again.

We ordered from this location for an event for approx 90 people at our home. When the food was delivered, it was warm, fresh and plentiful. We asked the owner on his opinion about the menu for the amount of people we were having and what was delivered did not disappoint. There was an abundance of left overs. The service was amazing. From the first phone call to even a follow up call by the owner to ensure everything that was delivered met our expectations. The experience, I can say was beyond what we were expecting. I will definitely be ordering from here again and would recommend to everyone.

I come to Barcelos when I want good food fast, in a nice atmosphere. Always liked this branch as they have a lot of seating and the parking is easy. I like the food court style of ordering at the counter, yet they still serve it to you on your table. The staff here are wonderful. Especially the gentleman who assisted us on Family Day, most likely the manager. Which says a lot about how this place is run. Well managed and efficient. Food always comes quick, and its pretty tasty. The pricing has gone up, as with everywhere else, but its still good value. Definitely recommend this place for bigger families as they have big booths and family meals.

I am very disappointed with the service, quality of food, and value. When I walked in to pick up my online order, the female at the cashier did not greet me nor smile. I was missing Fries from my order so had to wait a few more minutes which was fine but there was no apology at all. When I came home, the Large Fries which I paid $8.95 for was not even full. It was only 2/3 full. Chickens were cold, dry, and not flavorful. Coleslaw was good. Corn was very small. Overall, bad value (not worth $80), poor service and low quality of food. Nandos is way better. I will not be returning to Barcelos based on this visit.

Extremely poor, unprofessional, and cheep service. This the second time I m experiencing a bad service and False advertisement. It explains the empty restaurant almost always. While the server was bringing us food my drink got spilled by accident and they refused to give me a refill after spending around $ 120. Last time for me to give them my business.

Im coming here regularly from now on. The food was delicious, the fries were crispy and hot and the Peri Veggie burger is my favorite because of the patty. In terms of services, it was fast and nicely served. The staff was friendly. This place is affordable and great for a family meal in my opinion.

Pretty much brought back South African memories and taste of their Sause for grilled chickens. The garlic bread was awesome.

This location in particular is my favourite. I will purposely drive an extra 20 minutes to come here because the staff including the owner is so nice! We usually get the same thing when we come here and it never disappoints. 10/10 recommend

Food poisoning. First time I got it I thought maybe it was something else. Waited a few months and tried again. Food poisoning again. Clearly not cooking their previously cooked food long enough.

I bought 2 whole chicken with sides. Each chicken was packed separately. Each was missing chunks. E.g single upper quarter in each pack.This is very different from my experience with other branches, and a very unpleasant experience. Ensure you peek into your to-go-pack before leaving with orders from here!

I have my own restaurant and I barely give a 5 because Im very picky about the food and the service but this place deserves five stars, the owner and the server they were very kind and nice and the food was great and the place was clean and organized

One of the best places amongst the Barcelos to enjoy authentic Protuguese food with a touch of African ambience. Vegetarian options: The salads and many options within the menu. Parking: Open with ample options. Kid-friendliness: My kids were well taken care off and the staff was extra considerate with the spice levels for kids. Wheelchair accessibility: The setup has all facilities and the staff was extra accommodating.

Attended a 25th wedding anniversary party at Barcelos Guildford yesterday. Food was impeccable - chicken hot and juicy, the owners were on hand to make sure the food trays were replenished efficiently. Service was fast. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian guests were served paneer skewers, salad, vegetable pilaf and garlic bread. Parking: Parking is no problem at all. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes.

Absolutely authentic Portuguese food with a blend of African taste and ambience. The service was amazing and they made us feel welcomed. Fantastic food and service.

My go to place for tasty flame grilled chicken with amazing sauces that I just cant get enough of. Trying the Supa Peri sauce one day. The cauliflower bites were scrumptious. My 7 year who refuses to eat fruits and vegetables gobbled them down and informed me that they were the most delicious chicken nuggets she has ever had. Needless to say the food was amazing but the only thing that surpassed that is the staff. They have an amazing environment and the stuff go out of your way to make sure youre comfortable and know your way around the menu. I look forward to my next meal there. Kid-friendliness: Its a family restaurant so definitely kid friendly

So use to getting grilled veggies like peppers and onions. I got broccoli, cauliflower and celery? These Veggie choices had zero flavor. Ill be sure to ask what the grilled veggies are next time. Other food was good.

Its a nice place which offers Halal food. They offer mostly chicken but I have tried Beef burger which was so tasty. This time I plan to try veggie burger and I am sure they never regret you. The drink is free refill The portion size is not big though in comparison to the price. I would recommend getting the whole chicken which is worth it

Great place to go if you are craving Mediterranean Chicken! I feel the food is fresh and cooked just right. I stop by here about twice a month or whenever the craving hits me. Yes! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Stick to Nandos! This place the customer service is horrible the product that they give you, they sell you is almost tasteless. They sell you the Peri-Peri fries and theyre almost like regular fries. So if you like Peri Peri fries stock to Nandos! This chain of restaurants is a shameless copy of Nandos.

This is a really good place for BBQ, especially chicken. Started coming here for their pandemic takeout specials, and have now started dining in. The flavors are awesome, service is fast and prices are acceptable. This is now one of the standard choices for a restaurant dinner on short notice EDIT: I love the BBQ chicken here. My standard fare is the whole chicken dinner that includes 2 side dishes and drinks. Now 5 stars

My favorite..actually our familys favorite restaurant when we are all getting together. Their service is second to none when it comes to accomodating large crowd. Very nice ser ers and pleasant to deal with and all their branches are the same. So i give them 5 stars all the time.

Bbq chicken is delicious and the garlic bread is super good. The Peri mayo-like sauce is not worth it, taste like thousand island dressing with mayo.

First time eating in this restaraunt , so happy i did . The food was absolutly fantastic !! I ordered the chicken stirfry and it was cooked perfectly and everything was cooked fesh right after i ordered it My wife ordered a steak roll and again absolutly beautiful!! With pefectly done yam fries as a side with chipotle mayo dip .my 6 yo son got a basic burger and fries and even that was fantastic ! If i could give this place 10 stars i would , i am definatly coming back for more of this life changing food !

We came in to order 2 chicken caesar wraps for takeout on a weekday around 130pm. It wasnt until after my husband paid that they said it would be 30 or so minutes, which was a huge shock. He asked for a refund and got some attitude back about it, but got it in the end. We ended up going to Wendys.

Sorry Barcelos but Nando s chicken is superior. The periperi chicken was dry and lacked flavor no flame grilled flavour. No where near how great Nando s tastes. Bought a whole chicken for my family and we couldn t finish it. The leftover were fed to the trash because no one wanted to eat it. That s never a problem with Nando s. The sides however were not bad. The garlic bread was yummy and grilled veggies were very tasty, I would eat the veggies again but only that. All in all Nando s > Barcelos.

I ordered Flame Grilled Chicken from Barcelos Guildford for family get together and I am surprised with the flavour of the Chicken. Last week, i ordered for takeout and the first thing i would love to share that it is much convenient to unpack their fresh and juicy chicken and salads were real feeling of authentic feast. Next time i will go to guilford barcelos for dine-in

The experience was not great. Ordered their Leg and Thigh 2 piece portion. Super Oily and Greasy and appeared that it was just basted with Supa Peri flavor. No care on how the chicken should be grilled with less greasiness. Gave me stomach ache. It was my first time trying theirs. Nandos has been my go to always and look like I will stick to Nandos only....

Was so so not good, not bad. Rice have not so Much taste. Same for smash potatoes. Fries was good. Chicken ok

If you are in Surrey near Guilford town Center and craving grilled/bbq chicken Barcelos is the place you should go!! I tried their 1/2 chicken and it s the best grilled chicken I ve ever had, they marinate their chicken for 24hrs before grilling it. Their Peri sauces are so delicious doesn t matter what level of spice you choose. Servcie is top-notch! I highly recommend this place

Good chicken at a great price!

The staff person (probably the manager) verbally confirmed that their chicken is halal, we asked why dont you display Halal sign on the door and he replied that in order to do that they need to have official certification from BCMA, which they havent pursued. The grilled chicken along with a variety of three sauces especially the tangy one was great.

This is such an underrated restaurant! Its Super clean, the staff are very nice and polite, has alot of places to sit and eat, and the best part is how good the food tastes. All of their meals are halal as well.

Food was good. However, when we ordered takeout the staff quoted us 15 mins and they were out of chicken thighs so we waited another 25 mins for fresh chicken thighs but they gave us wings instead. Not happy about being lied to and given something we didnt order. Truly not a great experience. Probably wont be back

The food here is not bad. I ordered last week and google said that barcelos was VERY BUSY. went in to get my food and it was dead inside. STRANGE Besides that the chicken was OKAY. Not the taste, but the actual quality of the chicken. Semi-questionable. Just like the Chicken sand which. That one I can never eat again, the chicken is just weird. Not sure if I will come back here.
