Old-fashioned, long-running cafeteria & bakery providing sizable, familiar plates & outdoor seating.
Saw that fresgo’s is still open and damn it, that warmed my heart. The great reviews and appreciation of its decor are so great to see. I’m 49 now but I remember going to the fresgo inn as a kid in the 80’s with my parents and our friends from church after Sunday morning service. I remember going as a teen, hanging out with my friends to watch a canucks game or needing some late night food. Always getting the same thing. The Bacon Cheeseburger. My older brother always got the super sub. So I ordered it too so I could be cool like him. I took my girlfriend, now wife, there and tried to help her see fresgo’s the way I did. With love. I ordered the super sub the night my first kid was born at Surrey memorial hospital in 2002. We were up late and exhausted but we were also hungry. I did the same thing in 2005 when our second came around. I’ve gone there on good days and sad days. I remember taking my kids there when we’d visit the area, having moved to Alberta in 2005. That burger has been on my top 5 list since I first bit into one. I remember stopping in on my own on a trip back home for a funeral. I was on a mission. I wanted a tray. I asked to speak to Walter but he was busy at the moment. I asked the cashier if there was a way to buy one of the serving trays. They looked at me oddly for a second but I think anyone that works there must be aware of the history of the place. Just take it, they said. I looked at them to see if they were being serious. They were. I waited for the perfect moment and snuck that tray out without getting caught! I’ve never felt more alive. It now hangs on my wall as a prized possession. Every time I look at the logo, I’m flooded with feelings of warmth and fullness and friendship and home. Of being safe and accepted and cared for when I needed that in my life. Thank you Fresgo’s and thank you Walter. You’ve made such a difference in my life and I know there are many many similar stories out there. As long as fresgo’s is there, I know I can always go back home.
Really enjoyed the mushroom burger. As you can see there is a load of mushrooms. Love this place and will be back. Hope this place remains in business because it was pretty quiet when we went. Thank you for a wonderful meal.
I've been living in Surrey my whole life and recently found this Amazing Classic Diner by accident! 🕺 I was driving around in Surrey and made an accidental turn into this area and found this cool retro restaurant. I have been living in Surrey pretty much my whole life but never ate here before until today... I ordered a Reuben Sandwich with a poutine and a good ol' Molson. It was probably one of the best tasting Reuben sandwiches I've had! The portion of protein was pretty generous! The poutine tasted phenomenal and the portion was huge. If it weren't for my One Meal A Day diet plan - I probably would not have been able to finish it. Service was pretty straightforward. It was basically a self-serve/cafeteria style restaurant and you just grab your own water/condiments which is great because you don't have to call a server. There's plenty of seating here and the interior reminds me of the 70s/80s even though I wasn't born then. I actually did a bit of research and found that apparently the establishment first opened in 1970 with the same chef which is pretty cool! Overall this was a pretty neat and awesome restaurant in Surrey and with all the newer restaurants opening up mixed with tiktok influencers getting paid to hype up overrated and mediocre restaurants...I can honestly say that this restaurant definitely stood the test of time. It truly is a hidden gem... I'll definitely be back to try the other menu items while this restaurant is still alive and kicking! 😋
I went with a friend who was blown away that it was just like he remembered it as a child; the restaurant that used to be on Davies with the same chef, trays, and decor. Fun retro cafeteria-style, open spaced diner with filling meals and cheerful staff.
Came here for brunch. The corn beef hash was a good sized portion. Not fancy but a solid honest meal. Scrambled eggs were a little over done but not bad. I’d come back - value was there for sure for what we had paid.
What a great find!! Cool old school cafeteria style service. All served up by the owner in his chef whites and hat from visible clean open kitchen right on the cafeteria line. True home style food served up fast fresh and tasty. Stopped in for breakfast but will visit again for lunch or dinner. A gem tucked in, just off king george. Not highly visible from the street but well worth looking behind/beside kal tire for it.
Is this a fancy restaurant? No. Is the food high end gourmet? No. But we went craving casual food in a funky atmosphere, and that is what we got. Counter staff was friendly enough, the owner, Walter, very kind and appreciative of our visit, with a big genuine smile and a "thank you, I appreciate you coming!" when we chatted with him for a moment as we left. There was plenty of parking right out front, it's wheelchair accessible, the restaurant was clean, and the food was ready quite quickly (around 10 minutes), and was abundant. Soup was served on the spot at the counter. We ordered 2 clubhouse sandwiches which came with fries, a Manhattan clam chowder that was hot, thick with vegetables, and a generous portion. We also bought 2 pieces of delicious cake to go - black forest and a chocolate cake with delicious chocolate icing. It's nostalgic and unpretentious, serving comfort food with a smile. I went to the Vancouver location with my then boyfriend, now husband 37 years ago at 18 years old - our first date. I don't visit often. Maybe once a year. But every time I'm there I always think damn, I'm going to miss this place when it's gone. The world is changing and Fresgo Inn is a rarity, a little local gem.
My review posted on February 19, 2023 and thereafter visited many times. Review edited today as we are here again on March 09, 2024! Visited again on November 19, 2024! The quality and quantity hasn’t changed a bit and at the same price and same awesome service!👏👏👏 Awesome place! Good old! Unchanged over the years! Items are fine-dine kind! Price is way cheaper than high end restaurants! Quality is immaculate! Our go to place for brunch on lazy mornings! Acres of car parking! Free refills of coffee!
Retro Dinner with the best comfort food!
Long time customer
Great price
Meatball...
Food is good and big portions
DO NOT COME HERE!!!! I went for a lunch with my mom and ordered a soup and cheesecake. The soup was overpriced canned horrible food and the cheesecake had mold. When I told staff about the mold, she took the cheesecake away, didn t refund me, and left the rest of the cheesecake in the display for others to buy. Restaurant itself was dirty and disgusting. Stay as far away from this place as possible.
Had a fantastic date here with my wife recently - we both loved the food and the 80s vibe. It reminded us a lot of good memories together in the southern part of the United States. Loved the ribs in particular.
Classic old school diner. There have been some good memories here. I have a lot of respect for this place and its owner. Edit: still the best salmon dinner Ive ever had
Really good breakfast/brunch restaurant with generous portions and very reasonable pricing.
Stood at the till for 10 min this morning , 3 people could not decipher 1 past bill (cared not about a future one ) I walked out and ate elsewhere. This place needs to close .
Spaghetti wouldnt feed to a dog
The quality has has gone down Being coming here for years and the one near English bay Same old grumpy German owner, Hans Ate there today and order a mushroom beef sub They gave me salami which I really don t like. Just thought it was a mixup They said the mushroom sub has the works I just walked away knowing very well it would not be corrected The bun was not fresh and the salami was gross Sad to say I m done with this place I supported this place for over 40 years By the way Hans if you read this you were friends with my dad before he passed Oh well Never again
Disappointed, what happened to this place will definitely be limiting my future visits. Miss the old days
Been frequenting Fresgos since Davie street days. Walter is a wonderful man who is still found cooking up a storm for us to enjoy.
Philly sub was amazing
Food has always been way beyond what Im expecting it to be, hence the atmosphere score being low - its really the only negative thing I could say about it. Great place.
Fresgos is the best for all their menu items. My personal favorite is the Super Submarine and a Peach Juice and the Bakery to take home fresh baked goods. This place is one of a kind. Be prepared all food portions are huge. LEGENDARY!!...... Food : 5/5
Used to eat at Fresgo s back in the day Zipped in today for Lunch Ouch! Big disappointment Average at best, food tasteless, bland, staff too, unfriendly and really not a positive experience. Price for experience not even close! Later, Fresgo s!
Amazing but beware that the portions are large
So good love this local gem! Old school feel. Nice music 50s trucker dinner vibes. Awesome food options and bakery
I love this restaurant. Ive been coming here since the late 80s, and its always a great time. Portions are big and priced really good. Ive brought family, dates and friends here and have always left satisfied. 2 people can eat for $30-40 and the atmosphere is awesome. Very highly recommend Parking: Classic style restaurant
Steak & Eggs Bargain....cant find a better Steak for this price anywhere!
Best deal in Surrey Huge portions at a great price Food
Okay food. Not the friendliest staff. Decent portions. A bit over priced for what you get.
I experienced the worst sandwich and steak in this restaurant and I wasted my money .The restaurant was dirty and they do not respect the customers . And I do not recommend it to anyone Food
Expensive dry breakfast will not be back.
We went there today for Thanksgiving dinner. We spent almost $150. The meals are huge so I needed togo boxes, she said I have to pay for them.. I couldnt believe it.
Its been a very long time since I visited this location or the previous location on Davie. It used to be good food at good value. Now its overpriced and mediocre. Its pretty sad.
Overall good, but the gravy was really salty and the music was a bit too loud
Had a mushroom burger, and was a little disappointed that you don t get nearly as many mushrooms anymore (that was what I was looking forward to). Seems pretty expensive now, don t really get the bang for your buck you used to. The desserts were not that great, kind of dry. But the biggest disappointment is that we paid $100 for 4 people (meals and dessert, no drinks), and we re going to take our fries home but found out we had to pay for the take out container. Such a minor thing, but we have never had to pay for a to go container in a restaurant . The interior of the restaurant is the same and hasn t changed at all.
My father had started taking me hear over 30 years ago....love the food, the place, the memories, and Im pretty sure, the head chef is the same person too! Never had a bad experience!
Old school cafeteria style diner. Food was ok not great. Atmosphere was ok but the tables were placed so close it was hassle trying to move around. Cheesecake was good. Portion size was big so at least I was full.
Good food, large portions.
Best food in surrey by far
Cant beat a classic.
Great food......nice option and not too expensive!
Classic feeling
Always good food nice big portions
Yummy food had a good time
Food was good, but after we finished, a cockroach ran across the wall right beside our table. Super nasty.
I like how people say that Frescos isn t the best but they never complain about the price. It literally became a go to place when me and my family moved to Surrey. We moved and still have family in the area and Frescos to this day still is our go to place in Surrey to go to. The portions are big the prices are very good and the food is very delicious.
Went there with the in-laws visiting from Alberta, 3 of us had the spaghetti and honey garlic ribs combo and we all agreed it was delicious, the spaghetti was the best part very large portion and fresh parmesan cheese was fackin amazing, the ribs were good but a little too much honey garlic soup came with it, good but very sweet and a wee bit much but overall the food was great and it was only just over $100 for 4 people and 3 regular drinks but 1 beer cost almost 9 bucks which is a bit pricey but Ive been going to this Fresgo for over 20 and its much loved in Surrey Parking: Tons of parking so usually not an issue . Kid-friendliness: They have big tables for kids and large groups and they have high chairs for the little ones Wheelchair accessibility: Its wheelchair friendly but the front door is a bit difficult if there is a line up but still possible but can easily exit from the side door near the back of the restaurant.
2 than 3
Like going back in time, still the same food and look.
Been going to Fresgos for about 40 years now, always been pretty good experiences and food with huge portions . What I got today was a joke , small portions and the rudest most ignorant staff ever experienced here , seems to be the ongoing trend in every restaurant now , if youre not East Indian your trash and thats exactly how they treat you.
As former residents of this area, this was a blast from the past! For nostalgia, I had their wonderful Mushroom burger just as good as I remember! Wheelchair accessibility: Appears to be accessible.
Very poor service Web site says open to 8 pm. We were asked to leave at 7:45. Mushroom burger was excellent. Beef dip had no flavor and was dry Pepper steak was too spicy. We will not be back Food
I recently visited Fresgo, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or family. The menu offered a wide variety of options, catering to all tastes. I decided to try their signature burger, and it did not disappoint. The patty was juicy and cooked to perfection, topped with fresh, crisp vegetables and a deliciously tangy sauce. The bun was soft yet sturdy, holding everything together without falling apart. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors. The sides were equally impressive. The fries were crispy and seasoned just right, and the onion rings were golden and crunchy. I also appreciated the range of beverage options, including some unique craft sodas that paired perfectly with the meal. What truly stood out was the attention to detail and the high quality of the ingredients. Its clear that Fresgo takes pride in what they serve. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food provided. Overall, Fresgo exceeded my expectations. Whether youre a burger enthusiast or just looking for a great place to eat, I highly recommend giving this place a try. Ill definitely be returning soon!
Food was amazing!
I love fresgos, Ive ate here for years so take it with a grain of salt. Its kind of a greasy spoon, old cafeteria type place. My top recommendations are schnitzel, mushroom burger, pizza. Prime rib dinner(special)
If you want large portions, good food, and nostalgia this is the place! First time going there was in the 80s with family. Still feels the same. The owner still behind the grills with his white chef hat, 80s music playing in the background, sports on the tvs. I miss the old days when it was open 24 hours. Eating there with your buddies after parties at 4am. Parking: Tons of free parking Kid-friendliness: Great family place! Wheelchair accessibility: Easy flat access
Very classic diner, order at the cashier, get a disc that will beep/vibrate when your order is ready, pick it up at the counter and grab your utensils/condiments. Portions are quite large, more than justifying the price and the food tastes good as well. Great place for any meal, but especially breakfast.
I Have not been to Fresgo Inn for about 15 years. Food is always good here. The big turn off tonight was being handed one of those disc s that flash and vibrate when either your table or your food is ready, you know the ones. I hate to even touch them as I feel they never get cleaned. Well tonight I didn t really want to hold it, but eating my meal I watched the young woman employee take them out of the collection box and place them back at the till to hand out to the next customer without cleaning them. Come on Walter, train your staff to at least Clean and disinfect them!! People coming in with dirty hands hold these and your staff recycle without cleaning them? NASTY unhealthy and unclean!!!!! Ever hear of that thing called COVID 19 Well it s still around!! Let s go back to calling the numbers
I used to love this place. When I lived in Surrey we used to go quite a bit. Now, how this place gets any stars is beyond me, or Ive just been very unlucky. Ordered the rib special, not expecting a lot and was still disappointed. The driest ribs Ive ever had. The spaghetti was okay, but obviously cheap over done noodles. The lemon meringue pie had no lemon flavour at all and actually had a terrible chemical taste. The cheesecake was so bland, you ay as well of ate a chunk of cream cheese. Yeah, the portions were a large size, but everything was so bad most of didnt get eaten. And all for just under $70 we would have been better off going to some chain restaurant.
My husband has been going to this place ever since he was a kid and he never gets tired of coming. Big portions worth your dollars and appetite
Still big portions and clean.
Very disappointed. Had to return order for refund.
I came here with my school team for breakfast on 28th June, 2024, I really liked the pan cake breakfast. So 3nd July I was around this location in morning hour so thought to take same breakfast. But when I went to restaurant, I straight went to use washroom. Then I came back, asked menu they said we have only screen menu so while I was reading dt ,l got a call, I thought let me attend the call ,I was still on call this one lady staff came to me said next time when you come here use our washroom after you placed the order, her tone, style was so insulting, cant express in words. I told her how do you I was not placing the order. Like it was just two minutes call Then I left the place because after that insult it was hard to stand there.
Horrible staff treated us very poorly. Don t go here, they need to layoff those people and hire new staff. Extremely disappointed, i hope management takes this seriously and come up with consequences.
The old Chef of the place has a very bad attitude, I came in because he was waiting for some friends to eat there. Unfortunately, when I went in and asked for water, the old hermit told me that water was only for customers who were eating and he still went and scolded his worker for letting me in. I left with a bad taste in my mouth and a very bad place if they were looking to live together.
More of retro dining. From the days of Fresgos on Davie Street in Vancouver. Mushrooms burger is the same. The fish and chips are smaller than the old days. Still, I find there is value in their food. They do charge you for a takeaway dish if you cant finish your meal.
Stopped in solely for the purpose to pick up some poutine before we went back to the US. It was exactly what we wanted. Great french fries, delicious gravy, and tons of cheese!
The place was nice for a diner, service was ok, not invitingly friendly. Fish & chips were very oily and tasted like fish flavored cardboard. Struggled to eat it all. My first & last time there.
Nothing fancy, just good homestyle meals at a good price.
Wow the chicken Alfredo was yellow sauce..???) And the chicken was dark stringy meat with teriyaki type sauce..so disappointing..j.huge portion if you would eat it. I had to discard mine. I suggest looking into getting better recipe and better chicken.
Ate tonights dinner there for the first time in decades. I was amazed it is still open, and was even more thrilled to see the same cook after all these years. Lots of food selection for a good price. The food was good and filling, with enough to feed me for lunch tomorrow. Kid-friendliness: Buffet style restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room to get the chair through.
Great value for the cost. Amazing vibes
Great food love the big portions for the price get more for ure dollar great staff
I pass
Fast service, good food, large servings.
THE! BEST!
Great place. Years of service, top notch!!
I ordered a beef dip, the bread was way too dry, not fresh.
Feel like Tony Montana in the 80s. Great tasting food, and a atmosphere so great I feel like I m in Vice city.
Very cozy and spacious restaurant. The food was large in portion for the price. I would definitely visit again!
We got there late 20 Mins until closing. We asked if we could still get food to go, they helped us out after a long day of travelling. We make sure to stop in everytime we visit the city. Dang good food.
Great taste, love the environment
This is my favorite restaurant for many things has many tables, is big enough to always afford space;with special dishes delicious and generous wide variety of drinks desserts, cakes . Prices are affordable and easy to order and pay, and in a few minutes, you are enjoying the Canadian food in Vancouver.
Fantastic for a party Vegetarian options: Salad Food : 5/5 |
The Fresno Inn Restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere. It feels like stepping into a familiar friends house.
Food always good
We haven t been back for years and it s exactly the same, food and all! I got my usual mushroom burger loaded!
Good portions, good value. You get what you get.
Undercooked bacon jail. Overcooked egg, believe it not, also jail... The best part was the blueberry scone. I tipped then realized I had to get my own coffee water utensils etc...
Great place for a good meal at a fair price that is very filling
The portion is huge and food is very tasty!!! Love it! Definitely coming back!!!
Always a great meal!!!
HUGE portions, loads of selections, desserts to die for. Self serve cafeteria style, lots of tables.
Omg I love this place, I used to go here when I was a kid! I cant believe it still open but also I can. Its a Surrey staple and the food is always good. Quality dinner food! I had the mushroom cheddar burger and oh damn it was so good and huge! Will defo be back.
Foods a bit expensive, but portions are decent and everything I had was delicious.
Terrible food no flavor very bland,an way to expensive for the food.$12for a hotdog that was hard in the center.
Everything was amazing! Me and my mum went for lunch she had been there over 30 years ago she was amazed and I was too! I have to go back to try there bakery foods
Chicken and waffles are bone-in. Just no.
I personally love the clam chowder it Manhattan stile not new England.
This place is certainly nothing fancy, but offers pretty good food and big portions for the price.
Absolutely massive portions of really good food, served in a no-frills cafeteria style.
One you can always count on
The air conditioning was on . It was cold in there.
Been going for years, love this place
Ive always love it here
Every restaurant I go to that offer my goto dishes I like to compare with what, so far, are my favourites. Eggs Benny lox is by far the best at Fresgos.
Mushroom burger you cant go wrong
Awesome food and great service. Walter has been a staple of this community for as long as i can remember. If you ever come to Surrey you gotta eat here Food : 5/5
Old style diner with decent food. Portions were good but the food didn t feel worth the price. Can get a major upgrade on the service and menu. Good on burgers and fries but that s it.
Still great food after all these years.
The restaurant and decor is almost the same as the Davie/Vancouver location, but the food is not even closed. When to the Surrey location with friends for nostalgia sake and Irtysh was disappointing. Ordered the pepperoni sub, all I can taste was hot sauce. Friends ordered the beef dip and it was bland. The personalize pizza had no taste too. We should have just left it in the past.
Ordered a simple Hot Beef sandwich. I asked if this would be cut off a roast. The girl said Oh Yes. Great I ordered. I have no words to describe my displeasure. It was sad and drenched in salt. I took the meal back to them. Untouched and told them it was the worst meal I had ever been served. I will NEVER go back. They have gone down hill.
Its just an amazing place and chef Walter is so nice and caring towards my kids when we go, he always gives them a cookie when they go say hi!
Great food prepared fresh, with large portions!
Food has gone drastically downhill, prices are far too high for what you get and the place is dirty and very outdated (and not in the charming diner kind of way). To top it off my daughter got sick from her meal (a hotdog which I assume must have sat out too long - Ill take partial blame here for going along with the hotdog decision). Bathrooms were gross. Will definitely not be back.
Great food, from breakfast to dinner. They have own bakery as well. Retro vibe, like from seventies Food
Use to go as family when i was a child. Went back as an adult and food is still fantastic.... Good portions, right priced and extremely friendly
This place has gone way down hill! This is the second time Ive tried to get food before the posted closing time and been told sorry the kitchen is closed. Google says youre open till 8. Tonight I went there after work its only 730, ordered fries and gravy nothing special or complicated. Lady says sure and rings it up. I go get a drink and all of a sudden shes telling me sorry the kitchen is closed, no food for you! You still have 30 mins to serve customers, how is the kitchen already closed? They are so all over the place that even the cashier doesnt know what time the kitchen closes!! When you figure out your schedule, can you let us all know too!! Ended up going across the street to White Spot, got my fries and gravy to go and was home BEFORE 8pm when this place supposedly closes. I try to support smaller local businesses but if they dont want my service Ill happily go somewhere else!
An absolute classic. Must try
Love this place
Cafeteria style ordering. The best mushroom burger youll ever have.
Always good here A lot of tables not cleared and dirty Takes away from the atmosphere of this place Food : 5/5
A great place to go and enjoy a great meal
Awful almost uncooked fish and chips. No compensation for the above No directions for flow Of traffic within the restaurant, ordering procedures, or written paper menus Killed the nostalgic memory we had of the original fresgo inn Waste of money, time, and trip Parking: Hidden entrance, poorly paved parking lot
Went there for breakfast. The food is really really bad. Ordered the steak and eggs and the schnitzel with mushrooms. The food had a very off taste. The steak was tough and like rubber and the Schnitzel was hard and dry like cardboard. I felt disgusted with every bite. Wasted over 70 dollars after tax and yip on those 2 dishes. Really dissapointed.
Love this place. Great old school atmosphere and love the breakfast. It s plentiful and yummy
bacon cheeseburger is still huge and delicious
I used to like Fresgos. They have clearly given up and the food is ridiculously expensive. Dont waste your time or money.
Haven t been here since the 90 s!! Still great food. Parking: Plenty of parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible!!
I m obsessed with this place, the food is great and affordable, and I love the 80s atmosphere. This place is a real hidden gem.
Fresno Inn: Family-Friendly Feast with Heartwarming Hospitality Our recent visit to Fresno Inn was more than just a meal; it was a heartwarming experience brimming with genuine hospitality. The staffs patience and kindness shone brightly, especially when it came to my indecisive kids. They answered their questions with smiles and offered suggestions without being pushy, making them feel heard and valued. This attentiveness extended beyond the servers. The owner, Amandeep, personally inquired about our food and gathered feedback. It was a small gesture that spoke volumes about their dedication to customer satisfaction. Speaking of the food, it was delicious and plentiful! We enjoyed classic comfort dishes made with fresh ingredients, leaving everyone happy and satisfied. The portions were generous, reflecting the restaurants commitment to value for money. The cherry on top? When I realized Id left my phone behind after the restaurant closed, Amandeep graciously let me back in to retrieve it. This act of kindness cemented our positive impression and solidified Fresno Inn as a place that goes the extra mile for its patrons.
I buy frozen takeout. Usually beef stew and cabbage rolls. Still leery of crowds. The food is good and not expensive. About $10.00 for each frozen tray.
This place IS the vibe. The food is good. It s a greasy spoon, flat top, giant pancake kind of place. You pay for LITERALLY everything, so only go if you re ready to pay. The man in the chefs hat runs a tight ship. Whipped cream on the side? Pay. Extra butter? Pay. Coffee refill? Pay. Breathing too loudly? Pay. Want to change the juke box? DO NOT CHANGE THE JUKE BOX. If you have a large crowd with different tastes, want to take up space, be rowdy, feed the kids, and not worry about it? Go here. Kid-friendliness: You couldn t find a more laid back place for the kids. Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible. The washroom is a bit tricky though.
Walters a G ong
Mushroom Schnitzle is awesome
Looks like 1967 the place, I couldn t find it at first, I never really go out there in Surrey , staff hmmm ok I guess, do they really care, East Indian not always know what they are doing when it comes to service and food, I grab a pie after in that dirty looking cooler and it had dirty liquid in it from the cooler, defrosting ? Gross I told them Didn t care, like any place, who knows how clean I saw the old white chef, but don t come out and talk to customers and maybe touching them, getting too close etc Needs to be shut down
Great family place for lots of large portion breakfast, lunch and other specialties. Love getting quick take out here
This place deserves a 5 star all around. Portions are huge, food is hot and fresh, service is fast. Ive been coming here since I was a child. This place hasnt changed a bit after all of these years. Same chef, Walter, has always been here running this joint. Gotta try their corned beef hash or the spaghetti and meatballs. You wont be disappointed by anything you try here. Everything off of the menu is worth trying.
Miss the 80d? Want to travel through time? Your welcome. This place is every dinner from the 80s in one. Parking: Private lot.
Mashive porsons of food. Good price. Left with an extra notch in my belt for sure. Food
Is this the fresgo inn that was on davie?...i ordered the chicken ceaser salad...mmmm, the chicken was tender, loved the suace and the side bread was toasty and good...will go back again. Wheelchair accessibility: Our society supports special needs...and we were there with several wheelchair folks.. easy in easy out :)
Chef Walter and the team are amazing , open kitchen , menu is endless and the food is made from scratch no short cuts here folks.
Very neat place to do dine. Reminds of diners from back when I was a child in the 80s early 90s. Dont be deceived by cafeteria like presence when you first walk in. The food here is great, made fresh to order, and eith huge portions at that. Also, they sell full-size pies and cakes as well as by the slice, which are delicious. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu options, highchairs
have to change my review, just paid 25 bucks for breakfast for 1, 19.74 for breakfast and 3,74 for a coffee, lunch meat used in the cornbeef hash, eggs over cooked and a filthy coffee cup. for the price ,ya might wanna pick it up abit . what can ya say about fresgos, good food, decor hasnt changed since the 80, take a blast into the past. Fresgos has been around forever. love it....... damn....now Im hungry again ... oh wait Im 2 blocks from Fresgos.
Large store
Huge portions, tasty food choices , old diner truck stop vibe
I had their mushroom schnitzel. Sadly, it was a bit disappointing. Over cooked, dry, and generally bland. Portion was decent. Pricey for what it was. The environment was great, with 80s diner feel. Service was friendly. However, its mostly a cafeteria style restaurant.
I have been going to this location since it first opened decades ago. Still large portions. But breakfast for almost $20 without coffee is a bit outrageous. Good food. But disappointingly lost the charm because of the high prices. Would love to see specials and return to the atmosphere as a family friendly restaurant. Generations of my family have dined here. Three generations in our last visit. Great for nostalgia. But will need to be only once a year as it s just too much.
I love this place for a great brunch. Food is delicious and in a great price. Also, food comes out fast. Amazing restaurant, you should definitely go! :D
I tried this place for the first time today and I was blown away by the sub I got. Between the size, the fillings, even with the extra fees from Uber Eats, I got way more than I ever expected. I will have to try something else soon!!
Same owner. Same good food. Stay away from the salads though, wasnt fresh.
Frescoes is a great place to visit when youre hungry. I love the mushroom burger if you get the double one, 2 people can share. The fries are pretty good. The best part is the amount of fresh mushrooms they put on the mushroom burger. Desserts are good too, It costs about $50 for 2 single mushroom burgers and coffee. Its cafeteria style. You order what you want and the cashier rings it up and you pay right there. The cashier gives you a disk that will flash when your food is ready for you to pick it up. Its not easy to find. Its in the parking lot on the North side of Kal Tire. Kid-friendliness: Theres no reason why you couldnt take well-behaved kids here. Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is flat, so it should be good for wheel chairs.
I havent been here for years and I am BEYOND delighted to discover its just as I remembered it - massive, delicious food and lovely staff. This place makes me happy
This place is a classic. Owner operated, has been a part of the community for 30 years. Generous portions, vintage atmosphere.
Classic spot in Surrey
Top of the line
This was a blast from the past for me.We used to come here late nights after the bar .Still good here!
Good food and large amounts.
Beef dip absolutely not worth the effort of my time. Probably a1/3 of a potato for fries. My and a friends Beef Dip was tiny pieces of Im guessing beef. Tastless to say the least. Tables with dirty plates alot of tables. And for 2 people 50 bucks.???? Sorry but quality/service and definitely prices are not worth the time or money. A down hill slide.
I d give 5 stars if they were just as good with Uber as they are if you went to eat in at the actual restaurant. When ordering with Uber, the staff can t read numbers. If you order two of the same dish, you will get one. If you order three of the same, you will get two. When you receive your messed up order from Uber, the staff is completely unapologetic when you call to address the issue. They couldn t care less! I suggest just going to the restaurant to eat.
The best egg Bennies and liver and onions. I am glad for restaurant like this to be alive. Thank you Walter and team.
Havent been in about 20 yrs. But the place is exactly how I remember it. Good food portions are still huge. I had a traditional Clubhouse hubby had mushroom burger.
The Fresgo Inn restaurant is an iconic wonderful restaurant, it has been here since the early 80s as well as when Walter owned the one in Vancouver in the 70s, both of these restaurants were and now in Surrey is the place to go for good food with big portions in a reasonable price. Walter is still running this location and is still doing much of the cooking, Im happy to see him behind the grill when Im there, as it tells me Im getting a good meal, not to discredit the rest of his team has they all produce good food and service! Vegetarian options: They have a number of salads that will work for the vegetarian for sure, Im sure theres also a number of potato dishes that could be served if need be. Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is at ground level and there is access to the sidewalks from the parking lot.
Very old and neglected restaurant/diner. But food is good and priced well.
We had the prime rib dinner...huge portions...it was delicious but took home some as it was impossible to eat it all in one sitting. Very friendly staff and also alot of options for dessert....
Favorite place to go with my family I love the 80s atmosphere and the portions are huge very good food and service is great.
Love the variety of options. The whole family leaves satisfied!
Excellent food and the portions are phenomenal, its more of a Serve Yourself restaurant which really doesnt bother me at all, most of the time the girls behind the counter are awesome, but there are now some scowily faced ones behind there that definitely dont like their job and do not want to be there and it shows in their demeanor and attitude. Its an old and used restaurant and it shows in the decor and tables and chairs but I come here for the food and dont really care what it looks like as long as its clean.
Food is fantastic. Not the same value as it used to be but the food is still great.
