Went in around 7:30pm and was fairly busy. The service was a little slow but it was understandable. The food was good - some portions were uneven as we all ordered the same meal.
This review is based off my last three experiences at this location within the last year. Food: A consistent effort in the kitchen and very appreciated as quality hasn’t dropped off throughout the year. This establishment continues to uphold its keg standards and all meals were as tasty as its last. Perhaps overpriced with today’s dining options and local deals. Service: Hostess at the front would rarely smile or greet with friendly attitude. Once seated, the staff is fine and although missed an order on 1 of 3 visits, went on to quickly address the issue. They have more personality than those at the front. Atmosphere: Dark and intimate setting for the most part. Depending on where you’re seated it can be quite an awkward spot to wave down someone. Final thoughts: Everything is in line with a typical Keg experience at this location. However, if you’re booking for a birthday and expecting cake then prepare to not have any. My 2/2 times where I’ve tried celebrating a birthday here were disappointed by their lack of enthusiasm for a free piece of cake! They do not provide their free Billy miner cake for birthday celebrations at this location despite having mentioned it many times throughout the night.
Wonderful atmosphere at The Keg Steakhouse! Our server, Sarah (I believe?), was fantastic. We had the prime rib and prawns, and started with the calamari. The consistency of the food was great. However, I do miss the prawns with peach chutney they used to offer. Please bring back the extra sauces—they really elevate the experience beyond a homecooked meal. Overall, a delightful dining experience!
I’m so disappointed in my experience, directly related to the change in 3 pepper wings (main reason for visit today)…they don’t add sauce anymore, and it’s a “dry-rub”. It tasted like KFC copied their favour and added a weak version of it. No option to have sauce or dry. I have talked up their wings since they came out, not anymore! Do better please! Also, weak options for happy hour drinks compared to other kegs
I recently dined at The Keg, expecting a satisfying meal, but was left thoroughly disappointed, particularly by the chicken and fries. We specifically ordered “grilled” chicken to couple our Caesar salads, but the chicken arrived lackluster and bland, its texture bordering on rubbery, as if it had been hastily overcooked. There was no succulence, no depth of flavor—just an uninspired piece of protein that left much to be desired. The fries, too, were a letdown. Limp and soggy, they lacked the crispness that even the simplest fry should boast. Their insipid seasoning left them devoid of any redeeming quality, tasting as though they had been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long. (Sacasticslly) Remember to add “Parmesan” to the fries! In a restaurant that prides itself on quality, this was a disheartening experience. The chicken and fries, two staples of any respectable menu, were executed with alarming carelessness. Furthermore I also ordered an Aperol Spritz expecting the refreshing, vibrant cocktail it's known to be. What I received, however, was an absolute disappointment—a watered-down, flavorless shadow of the classic drink. The Aperol was barely detectable, and the effervescence of the prosecco was completely muted, leaving me with something that resembled flavored water more than a proper cocktail. The balance of flavors was entirely off, as if the drink had been prepared without care or understanding of its simple elegance. To call it an Aperol Spritz would be generous; it was a diluted, uninspired attempt that left me regretting my choice. For a restaurant of this caliber, I expected far better. If you’re reading this as a potential diner, avoid this establishment at all costs. If you’re in charge of food quality at the Keg, please have your team get in touch with me. I look forward to your emails.
Getting your meat done right… There’s a split among my friends on the Keg, in regards of likes and dislikes but I personally enjoy the consistency of this chain. As far back as I can remember, any mistake or unsatisfactory were made right. Anyways, first time visiting this location since I was in the mood for some appies and meat. This place is located in south Surrey on 200th street, same plaza as Sungiven and Tap & Barrel. There are plentiful of free plaza parkings available. Inside has the same layout and concept as most Kegs; tables and semi booth seats by the bar with TVs, to the back are the main dining area with the tables and booth seats. Here were the food I ordered; 1. Complimentary bread with butter. Always nice and warm. 2. French onion soup. A nice and hearty soup with a nice layer of baked cheese on top. Good for the cold or rainy days. 3. Prawn cocktail. Good size with a fresh light crunch to it. 4. Mushroom Neptune. Always one of my favourite here, I personally think one of the better ones compared to other places. 5. Scallops and bacon. It was okay, the bacon a bit overcooked, became too crispy. 6. 10oz prime rib with snow crab clusters. One of the juiciest and tenderest prime rib I had in a long time, even compared to other locations. However the snow crab was quite dry. 7. 7oz filet mignon with snow crab clusters. It was tender and nicely done as usual, but once again the snow crab was quite dry. Overall, the atmosphere was quite casual and relaxing. The energy was friendly and positive with minimal noises even though seated close to the bar. The service was quite attentive and good which made the dining experience here more enjoyable. As for the food; the appies were good, the steaks were tender and juicy, the snow crabs however were quite dry and disappointing. Nevertheless, if you want your meat done right, the Keg it is for its consistency.
We don't often go out for dinner so it's considered a special occasion and the Morgan Creek Keg never disappoints! I always have the prime rib and my partner has sirloin & lobster tail. Both were fantastic and lots of food to take home for a second meal. Our server Ian was he was great. Can't wait to go back
I have to rate 5-star for the delicious foods, exemplary service and cozy atmosphere. I regret not noting our server's name but he was so personable and easily likeable, service- and appearance-wise 😊 We were a small party of 5 but he treated us like a grand party and we truly appreciated that gesture. It's a birthday celebration and we got a complimentary cake for the celebrant. Thank you for the wonderful experience ❤
My friend and I like to meet up for Happy Hour snacks and drinks in the lounge. Amazing staff here, fantastic! Great food, drinks, stay away so we can still get a table, LOL!! Vegetarian options: Yes Kid-friendliness: Over age 7 Wheelchair accessibility: Yes
Nice relaxing atmosphere on a Monday night with g kids. Had prime rib very good just could have been moister for M rare. Otherwise all else delicious
I only had salad and appetizer, the appetizer was stuffed yorkshire pudding, the yorkshire were not fluffy sadly! It was passable Parking: South Surrey
One of our dinners came out well underdone. Was returned, and they would be remaking the meal. New dinner brought out. It was just as undercooked as the first. Subsequently, our guest opted out of a 3rd try. Our waitress, who was absolutely amazing, with the best humor, got the manager for us. That was a waste of time. He did not even apologize. he just stood there stammering. A free desert was offered in lieu of her dinner being ruined... More should have been done. A new manager should not be running the floor on a Saturday night, especially at this time of year. The chefs need a review of your listed steak cooking chart. We customers use it, they should too.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is very good, the waiters are very friendly, and the steak is not amazing. Maybe my expectations are too high. The other appetizers, seafood platter, salads and snacks are good, but there is a colleague at the same table. The whole steak looks like it has not been cooked. I was so dumbfounded that I laughed out loud!
Excellent all round.
Three best steakhouse I ve been to. It bears any steakhouse in the states.
Very busy and also bit crammed.
Our first visit at Kegs Steakhouse and it was amazing! They have an excellent quality of food, and a great atmosphere in the restaurant. Montana was our server for this evening and she was so friendly. We will definitely come back. Thank you for this great experience!
Went for dinner with our neighbors, the service from Stephanie was fantastic & the food was even better.
Worst keg location in the entire lower Maindland. Been a keg eater for a decade. Live in white rock but always make the drive to Scott road. This location has the worst quality cut of meat, but that s not the main problem, you ask for medium rare but they give you well done. Just nasty steak. Avoid if you like like quality. Seems like the staff needs changing , this problems been lingering for a couple years.
I like the ambiance in here, its very cozy for a winter evening. I am glad there are vegan options but they are a bit underwhelming, nothing memorable. I am happy there is an interesting zero-proof menu, thats a great new addition.
I had a great birthday dinner here. Our server was lovely and helped us out with some complex orders. Dietary restrictions: My Nanna has an allergy to black pepper which they did very well with avoiding.
Always excellent
The Keg offers a consistent experience. Food, service and atmosphere all super.
Server was excellent! Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, there are no steps at the front door or in the restaurant. Food : 5/5 |
Always live going to the keg, great service very friendly staff We sat at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Great dinner always consistent
We didn t have any food but a lot of alcohol and our bartender Tyler was very very considerate and didn t let us run out of drinks and was very prompt at all times without any wait times!! Loved the place and the treatment!! Must visit guys
Excellent
Very accommodating as we turned up 2 hours late for our reservation. Food and service was impeccable as always. Great place to relax and have a business meeting.
Still as great as ever!
My wife and I go to the Keg regularly for date nights, this location has very attentive staff and the food is on point, I know it sounds funny but a lot of steak houses manage to mess up the temperature on their steaks, I have never had this happen to me at this Keg location. I will continue to enjoy my date nights with my wife here, and hope you do as well! The only small issue I would point out would be when the restaurant is full, it can get really noisy and hard to carry a conversation with your partner.
Great food and friendly staff. Still a staple goto for steak houses. Gets better every time I visit.
Disappointing. Started with calamari and it had no taste whatsoever. The calamari was cooked well with tender pieces and flaky batter but no seasoning Caesar salad was well presented but the dressing was understated. My teriyaki sirloin was chewy but that can happen...steak is almost always a hit and miss proposition. Desserts were excellent.
I go to the keg once a year, and I thought I would change it up. Instead of going to langley Keg, I came here instead to try something different. Im very happy with my choice of this keg. Staff is incredible and very helpful. I had the baseball steak, and the wife had a new York sirloin.
Very delicious and friendly service
Update I came here recently for a celebration. We asked for the billy miner pie and it came out melting. We had spoke with our concerns with our waiter and he took it back and just gave us another one that was still melted. I am thinking it is a kitchen issue. Please go see other locations. The billy miner pie should come out intact and still cold enough to stand and hold its shape. I did not like his service as he never explained why or saw our point of view. _____________________________________________________________ 5 stars due to great customer service we received on Jan 28th 7pm for a table of 4. It made our first time experience at this location very spectacular and definitely would recommend and come back. Our escargots came to the table fresh out of the oven, it was even bubbling. Great. Our steaks came perfectly medium rare and still hot as well.
We came here for my daughter s 19th birthday . There was 11 of us and every steak was done perfectly. Donovan ( I think was his name ) was lovely . He was always there when we needed something but was not over bearing . He is a great server . Thank you guys for making my daughters birthday amazing
Walked in at 4:15pm. Restaurant opens at 4pm. Every table was empty . Still made us wait 15mins to seat us at table - what a joke - while staff stands around. Service
Very good
Waited +1.5 hours on the wait list, they took everybody in before us and keep saying that we are cleaning the table and they just paid, very disappointed. Never have been waited this long in any restaurant I felt very left out and seeing walked in taken in before us was not acceptable. After we were seated nobody came to check on us and even to give us water or even ask what we want
What a great dinner! Our server Grayson was on the ball the whole night! Polite prompt and courteous
Service was ok.. certainly couldve been better and faster ! Almost an hour before food arrived ! No vegetables, just dried fried onions which is OK but not half a plate full . Way over priced for what you get . Food
Very good. The bread is so good
Great food. Enjoyed Lobster Summer features.
I visited this place in Vancouver. The food was good and the atmosphere was good.
Standard Keg atmosphere. Seems the traffic has dropped off at the South Surrey location. The meal was not up to standard, sample size (50+ visits to Keg restaurants over the decades). Are these franchised now? Quite the extreme in terms of quality control especially their proteins. Steakhouse? Need to pull up their socks!
The food quality has changed since the new owners took over. The steak was not very tender and not worth the high price. They could use a little more lighting on the table so I can see my food. The appetizers were good. Good value during happy hour
Good steaks and great pricing.
Its a favorite and always great! Wheelchair accessibility: All on ground level Food : 5/5 |
Steak was soo good it was first time to be there. We had classic and new york both were so great. Staff is so polite atmosphere was so good.
We order steak Oscar and the 2 lobster tail meals to share on fathers day. This was the second time that the steak was grisley. I think next time it might be Cactus Club instead
Just left this location. If I could give zero stars I would. The hostess (x 2) this evening were so rude and arrogant. We continued to a seat in the lounge and were greeted by a lovely waiter but not before the blonde hostess glared at me from her post. We were not inclined to spend $150-$200 being treated that way from the start of the evening. We looked forward to a night out together. Ultimately we took our business elsewhere and will never go back to this location.
Really good prime rib. Service was good. Best meal Ive had at the Keg in awhile.
Thanks to the cheerful waitress, I had a delicious meal with my family. Thank you ^^
Worst customer service ever in a restaurant! The server Lauren was so unprofessional, and accused me of not paying when my husband was paying the waiter!!! It was our wedding anniversary and she ruined the vibe. Obviously the staff need to be trained better and know what is going on ! We have been here for numerous years and to have our wedding anniversary ruined because of one staff member who was not paying attention is uncalled for.
Love coming here. Our server Brian is the best, he knows what we like and always makes great recommendations. The manager is always visible and the rest of the staff are great. The food is delicious, I recommend the prime rib sliders and the French onion soup. If you want steak then you cant go wrong with the NY strip.
Great for a last great meal that my dad with terminal cancer!
I always have a good time here. The food and service are great and have been for the 10 years or so I ve been dining at this location.
Our table that seated 8 was in the back corner and difficult for the servers to reach those six of us crowded in the back. Everyone had to get up to allow others to be seated - and our reservation was at 4:30!! There were many other tables unoccupied- this will not happen to us again, beware of seating a larger group.
Ashley provided exceptional service during our visit to the restaurant. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend asking for Ashley if you want top-notch service!
Did a take-out order with this location earlier this week. Ordered the main chicken dish and a full rack of ribs for pick up. I ordered online and ensured we requested cutlery with the order, bread and condiments. Suppose I shouldve checked the bag to nothing was missing but I didnt receive any of these items. Wouldnt have been a big deal except we werent going home and ended up having to literally use our hands to eat the meal... I expect better paying 80$ for a to-go meal. Upon pickup the employee also insisted I pay for the order again despite me having a e-receipt indicating Id already paid online. Really disappointing consider we had a stellar experience in-house the last time we were here. 2 stars for this place since the quality of the food this time was still quite good. Nonetheless, disappointed and well continue driving further to Langley/Delta where service/quality has been more consistent than this location.
I love the keg we go every year for my late wifes birthday and they always treat us like gold.
We arrived within 45 mins before the kitchen closed. And we were still treated with the utmost amazing service. We love closer to the Langley Keg but always get horrible food and service. Keep up the great service and food !
Its a great place. If you like steak, my husband is a meat eater, but Im not, Im a vegan, and there are some options, but they could add more!!!
The Keg Steakhouse here in south surrey is very good . We had a fabulous time and dinner . I recommend you request Brian to be your server. Hes very good .
Excellent service and perfectly cooked meals. Ive been here a few times in the last year and always had first class experience.
Always good food at the Keg. Excellent service and good food, it doesnt get better than that. Case closed!!
Great food service was slow
Our server Brianne was constantly checking in on us to ensure everything was good. Dinner was great and everyone had a good time.
Spent almost $300 expecting great meals but it was opposite. My prime rib was almost rare and my hubby s rib steak was overdone. We loved the calamari though and the server was really nice that s why we tipped the 18%.
June 22/24, Its been a while since our last visit to this Keg location. Our recently dined at the Keg Steakhouse in South Surrey and was quite disappointed. Despite having a reservation, our table was not ready on time. When we were finally seated, the table was not properly cleaned, which was off-putting. The biggest letdown was the meal itself. My steak was undercooked, and overall, the food quality did not meet the high standards Ive come to expect from The Keg. It feels like this location might be a training facility for other Keg venues, as the service and quality were not on par with the exceptional experience I usually have at the Yaletown Keg. Honestly, if youre in White Rock, its sad to say that a steak at Earls trumps a steak at this Keg, which is disappointing given the Keg is an established Steakhouse. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving both the service and food quality at this location. I suspect it will be another year before I attempt a steak dinner at this Keg. May 2023 We order take out from here often, this time we came with a group for a birthday party, the place was half full. The food was okay, the service was not great, we watched the servers chatting to each other more than communicating with customers. The Keg is +50 old, it might be time to shake things up, seems like complacency is setting in.
Great meal
Excellent food and awesome service!!! A great place to celebrate with family and friends!
Second time coming back. A staple for family birthday parties. (I am an ex kegger) Our server Brad (I believe) has served our family both visits in recent times, and he has been absolutely amazing. He is very knowledgeable about the menu, and has top notch service. The steaks, and service have always been top notch at this location which is why we keep coming back! Special thank you to the server who has gone above and beyond every time!
We took in game night. Wings and nachos. Beer and wine. Server gave a puck to each group sitting at the bar. The pucks had the name of a Canuck. If the player scored = free round of drinks! Fun!! Sadly the Canucks lost tonights game but the Keg is our new go-to for game night. Solid Happy Hour choices and great service!!
My wife and I have made it a tradition to have our anniversary dinner here. Our server Ashley was great. Food was amazing as always .
Excellent experience
Ive stopped getting steaks at the Keg because they always disappoint me, but everything else on the menu is actually quite nice. Dont be afraid to try something you wouldnt normally get.
Anthony and Brooke did a great job taking care of our table! Everything was fantastic and we ll be definitely coming back again!
Very welcoming and pleasant
Excellent service Im Aplodding the waiter for thinking my daughter was my date roflol. Memerable comment to laugh with later years in my old age. The food was good too. Food : 4/5
I had dinner at the Keg in south Surrey. This second Keg Restaurant I have visited in the past month. Both restaurants I ordered the Prime Rib. The steak had absolutely no flavour at all. Also large portions of it was just fat. Very disappointed with quality of food being served. Prices have gone up but quality has gone down.
$60 for a whole Billy Miner cake at this location compared to $45 at others. Simple explanation is that they are a franchise and pretty much CAN CHARGE WHAT THEY WANT. Please don t make the same mistake I did and go to the other locations that aren t trying to rob you from right under your nose.
Friendly staff but boy their steak really sucked. Tasted like liver
We were there for dinner last night and for appies, we ordered baked garlic shrimp, bacon wrapped scallops and they were both good. For our main, we all ordered steak and all 4 of our steaks were overcooked. Also for the veggies, we were served burnt/dried broccoli and beets. They were not aesthetically pleasing. None of us ate our veggies and I remembered Keg used to serve asparagus, red peppers for side veggies. The combination of broccoli and beets just don t go well or look good with steak and when I come here I expect a higher level of quality for food. When we told our waitress the steak were all overcooked, we were offered one free dessert for compensation. Also when I was walking out of the restaurant and passed by a table, I saw someone with asparagus. So why are some people served asparagus and some not? As a side note, just wanted to say this but Cactus club cafe has better steak than the keg. Needless to say, this will be our last time at the Keg.
4 of us went for dinner good Friday. Restaurant was full. Appetizers were good but the entrees were very disappointing. All 4 of our steaks were overcooked. I ordered medium and received a really dry well done steak. The vegetables served with the entree were horrible (overcooked, burnt broccoli and beets.) All 4 of us felt the same way. I dont even understand that combination or who came up with it. Not aesthetically pleasing at all. Ive been to many kegs over the last 25 years and have noticed a sharp decline in food quality to the point where I dont feel that we will ever visit one again. There are a number of places in this area that serve better steaks and none of them call themselves a steakhouse. I will spend my money there
Was very happy with the experience. We had a larger party and all the guests seemed happy. Our server was friendly and did a good job of making sure everyone was happy. Overall, a good time was had.
Staff is so rude and Got Food Poisoning after eating Lobster Tails from here!! Never going back.. It was our first and last time at this location
The atmosphere is nice and romantic, but it is on the darker side. The service at this location was really good, even though they were really busy. If it is your birthday, they give you the amazing ice cream cake slice to share. I recommend this place if you are looking for a fancy dinner or a celebratory location for a special occasion. The blackened chicken is good, and overall a healthy meal. The garlic mashed potatoes are amazing. I would recommend skipping appetizers as the dinner entrée is large. Vegetarian options: The options for vegetarians are limited but there are sides you an order such as mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
Food was mid at best the waiter was awesome though very friendly big smile
Great food and service. Pricey though.
Came here for appies and drinks. Service was friendly but suuuper slow. Wings were good but the nachos were pretty awesome. Other places that offer a beef add-on usually give you oily paprika-and-cumin ground beef. Here, because it s the Keg, you get (leftover?) prime rib. It s pretty amazing. Then again, if you re thinking nachos you re probably not looking at Keg price points. But it s worth it. They seem to be pretty busy all the time so resos are probably a good idea.
Amazing food every time. Brianne is an amazing server
This one is for our server, DAYLIN. Hope we spelled your name correctly. Thanks for the awesome service and moving my chair next to my 6 year old daughter for comfy seating. Thanks for taking care of the tab on the dry burger too and offering us all three sauces for ice cream :) Service means a lot to us :)
The keg is very much overpriced.
I just went out to the keg for my birthday with my family and we had the most wonderful experience the food was incredible! The escargot has to be my favorite so much flavor! The service was incredible when we arrived for our reservation we couldn t be seated right away because there was a medical emergency at the table we were going to sit at. The manager treated us so well, we were temporarily seated at the bar where we got to enjoy drinks to start which they covered and they even covered our appis because of the delay which was only about 10 minutes! We were already at our table by the time our appis came! I can see why everyone loves coming here so much all around 10/10 experience!
Great staff and service. Food is great. Very busy restaurant. Make a reservation if possible or go early
Always a great experience whenever I visit this location! Excellent staff and great food! Keep up the good work team!
I was seated while my wife was in the washroom and after I asked the hostess to keep an eye out for her she didnt and let her sit there waiting till I went and found her. The table wasnt ready so I asked if they had a spot in the lounge until. I was seated in the lounge and they cancelled our table.ignored there for 25 minutes when I asked about the table and was told they did not have the table I reserved any longer.Barely any remorse from any one on staff. I will never go there again. what a spoil of a nice night out
Edit 2024-01-29 Dine out Vancouver review: Avoid!!! As their prime rib being fairly popular, the apparent mass service/ordering leads to substandard delivery: not cooked to order (undercooked) and very fatty. Lobster bisque: tasty though on the saltier side. $65 for their 3 course meal, you d save about $5 if ordered individually. Unhelpful receptionist over the phone and you ll get a better reservation time if placed online. Original post: A standard all steakhouses should have; quality, service and atmosphere. Price: expensive. For all my visits throughout the years this chain restaurant has often got it right, and when it doesn t meet expectations, they will certainly try to make it up to its customers. Their bone in rib eye steak is a favourite as well as their prime rib. Billy miner s pie: dangerously good. Secret streak not on the menu: 24 oz Prime Rib if you can handle it!
Food was amazing definitely make a reservation because even with a reservation you still have to wait but yes it has been my favorite restaurant for many years and I think it always will be. Yes it is very expensive but you get what you pay for Parking: Only a couple disability spots available
Good steaks
We had a very bad experience at this place on our anniversary. We booked 2 weeks ahead to make sure we would have a nice table but instead they put us in the worst spot in the restaurant with a tiny table. It was in a high traffic, noisy spot right next to the serving station. We asked for a better location and one of the servers said he would check but he never came back to us. The steak was not cooked properly the way we requested and had no flavour . We asked to cook it more but it came back still quite rare, I had to fry it again at home and add Montreal steak spice. My steak was also undercooked so I only ate the edge and cooked it again at home. The people in the reception were rude. Very Disappointing!
Anniversary dinner. Server was very good and attentive escargot very good. few things about food that missed...baked potato was disappointing as it is as clearly reheated. Added a shrimp to prime rib. They were over cooked , no seasoning and a few were burnt. We however didnt say anything because we were so full of the prime rib that we did not even eat them. Prime rib was excellent. And we received a free dessert for anniversary which was so nice. Overall it was a great meal. Appreciate the service and of course will be back
Valentines Day... 8 pm. No wait at the bar... had the salmon and blackened chicken. Both were amazing. Service was fantastic and food was quick to arrive!!
Fantastic service from Brian. He definitely made our dining out experience that much better. Steaks were absolutely perfect; however, the service made it that much better.
Excellent food and so nice to have such a caring and tentative server. Thank you! Food
Bit expensive but great food and service.
Visited to celebrate an early Valentine s Day. Great food, service and atmosphere all around.
The Keg special Omega 24 OZ steak. Crazy
Not the usual The Keg reputation, half of the menu has been changed but items were on the menu. The waiter didn t exactly deliver the right information nor did he make replacements or give different options, they didn t have gluten free options like the other keg restaurants.
Food was great as usual topped with excellent service.
No reservations, unless its a day you dont need them. Doesnt open for lunch unlike Surrey and Granville Island. Staff dont care, owner doesnt care, just likes to see a massive lineup outside his door. This is the only Keg I will never again spendy money at. Cactus Club around the corner has food just as good or better, takes reservations and is open from 11 AM, and the staff/management care.
Recently I went to this place for the first time with family as I won 200 CAD gift card in my company and I was a bit skeptic and hesitant to go as we dont get our kind of food and not sure how they receive us but I was totally wrong as the lady in the reception area greeted very well asked about reservation and helped us to our table and I m so sorry as I dont remember the name of the person who served us but he was so gentle, nice , receptive and he could make out that we walked into this kind of place for the first time but he made us feel home and it was reasonable prices and apart from my card we ended up paying tip of 30 CAD I definitely recommend this place to people who want to have a different kind of feel for dinner with family and the crowd wad also nice
Service was absolutely embarrassing. Food was average. We had to ask multiple times to have our table wiped, water refilled and drinks ordered. In fact, we even had to clear our own table following appetizers. Given the price you pay for a meal at the Keg youd expect the service to be good. Absolutely disgraceful. One of the worst restaurant experiences Ive ever had.
Had a splendid time here for a friends birthday. The service was prompt despite the servers busy night around the restaurant. The food arrived quickly and was to my expectations to a steakhouse. The drinks were made to order and were served within minutes of our empty glasses. Tyler and Elena were superb and made sure we had a good evening.
My steak was cooked exactly how I enjoy it! Overall a great time.
Celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary dinner at the Keg this evening and everything was impeccable! The hostess was extremely polite and our server BRIAN was absolutely amazing! Brian was so attentive, respectful and even brought a to go container before I asked for one because he clearly could see I couldnt finish my meal. A huge shout out to the kitchen who prepared our meals. Cooked too perfection! Thank you ALL especially Brian for making our anniversary really special by sealing it with the raspberry cheesecake on the house. Will be back again SOON!?
Great food! But service was a big mehh. We got to our seats and waited about 15 minutes before any waiter said hello, until a waiter from another table came and asked if they had brought water, he brought water to us and finally our waiter Maxine came to take the order, unfortunately she felt like she was in a rush and we felt rushed. She brought us our food but I had ordered a keg classic combo and she brought my steak but forgot my salad, so after waiting around 10 or 15 minutes for her to pass by our table we got her attention and she finally brought my salad, but it did feel weird eating my salad after my teriyaki steak (which was pretty good). Overall Maxine shared her anxiety with us and was uncomfortable. The atmosphere was not cozy rather it felt intentionally low in light so you wouldnt notice errors in your food because at the end of the day you were still exposed to all the people in the restaurant.
It was a lovely evening Food was fabulous. Server was good, did his job well It was a nice treat. Food : 5/5
We have been going to the Keg at various locations for many many years and last night was a very poor experience our seating was small for our group of 6 we were celebrating 3 birthdays the service was sub par the whole evening . Two of our guests were there the previous night and had an exceptional experience
Good and consistent prime ribs. Be sure to call ahead at this location as it seems like they are almost always busy during dinner. Parking: Lots of parking dedicated to the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair entrances and bathrooms.
Always good food, good service,
Great place to go for steak or celebrating an event! Service is always top notch. Food is always excellent. Reserve in advance or you may be waiting for a long while... yes this place is that popular! Parking: Large strip.mall lot. You may have to park a bit away, but there will always be parking available!
Vegetarian options: No one goes to the Keg to eat vegetarian options which was reflected in the quality and flavour of the meals. Over-salted, and tasted of freezer-burned vegetables. Dont recommend it. To vegetarians who are forced to attend group dinners at The Keg: just eat before you go. Kid-friendliness: Cheesy pasta was nearly flavourless and I couldnt get my child to take more than a couple bites. The chicken strips I got as a replacement however are just breaded chicken breast which was a great value and my kid loved it.
Never a bad experience or meal here. This is the best steakhouse in South Surrey.
Keg used to be the spot everyone wanted to go growing up partially in Canada I definitely feel service has gone downhill and quality is not the same.
The keg is my dads favourite restaurant - my family of 7 took him there for his birthday last night. The whole visit was ridiculous, he did not have a good birthday and everybody in my family left with a bad taste in their mouth. The visit started out when we ordered our drinks - my dad ordered a sangria, when it was received the whole cup was full of ice, he received practically none of the drink. My sister ordered a Canadian - a cocktail on their menu - she was brought a beer, when you have multiple items called a Canadian on your menu, you would think the server would clarify with you, before bringing something you don t want. When the server came over to see how everything was - we sent the sangria and the beer back - at this point she reacted okay and did not give too much attitude. When the food arrived my dad ordered a prime rib end cut he s gone to the keg every birthday for the past 15 years and ordered the same thing. When the prime rib came - it was so dry, and you literally could not cut the meat, it resembled saw dust. Completely inedible. We called the server over and told her the situation - she argued with us and said that it s an end cut and it is more of medium well - from the look and taste of the meat it was way over well -no redness in it at all. She had a smug and argumentative attitude. Eventually we saw a manager and called him over, he was nice enough and ended up comping my dads meal. However it was too little too late. By the time my dads replacement steak had arrived - my whole family was all done eating and he ate alone. Our bill was around $300.00. I don t go out to eat and pay $300.00 for awful food and awful service. The mood was so wrecked by the end of the dinner my dad didn t even want his billy meiers pie. If I could give 0 stars for that visit I would, and It s very unlikely that my family ever step goes back into the keg if this is the service they provide.
Terrible. I went on sept 26 for my birthday. Ordered a sangria. Full of ice. Sent it back. Ordered a salad. Didn t come. Everyone else s did but not mine. Finally after around 10 minutes I flag the waitress down (she didn t come around much). They forgot it and then brought my salad. I ordered prime rib. It was medium and it came back well done. I flag the waitress down again. She is smug and argumentative and tells me that the end cap is like this. I tell her no. That is not the case. I call for the manager. He brings a steak out about 8 minutes later. WHAT A JOKE. Absolutely terrible. For the prices the keg is charging this is pathetic. As a long time Keg supporter this may be the last time!!!
Happy Hour in lounge. Excellent service. Sliders and wedge salad were great. Good deals on wine and food.
Shout out to Travis for providing the best managerial customer service. 10/10 so impressed and reaffirms why the Keg is my favourite restaurant wow
Alena was a great server and the food was fantastic . My bday experience was great . Thank you
What can I say besides its an exceptional experience. Perfect food, attentive and friendly service.
The vegan Shepards pie was awesome, and this is coming from a carnivore!
Great food!
The meal was one of the worst.. 3 of the 5 steaks were tough and dry. Broccoli was barely cooked and tasted like it was cooked in air fryer. Scallops were cold.. baked potato was way too big. Drink was not anywhere near the one I have had n the past . The pickled green beans were unchewable and stringy. All in all will never return to this keg and thk in general my family will do celebrations at another restaurant. Very sad as the keg used to be good,,, now it is sooo mediocre!
Excellent customer service.
Great service and food. Our service was amazing! She was super friendly and wasnt too pushy. Food is always good!
We go here often, but our last experience was not classy at all. The server was snippy and downright rude and offensive in her dealings with us. We occasionally order a plate and share it. We ordered the burger and fries. The server brought the meal on one plate instead of the kitchen staff dividing everything in 2. We were told to share it out ourselves and given a small plate. As I am disabled and have only one hand, this made the whole affair awkward. When our bill came, she had it folded in half and practically threw it on the table. Normally the bill comes in the hard folder. I enquired about this and was told due to Covid, the restaurant was short on supplies. By the way, Covid was 2 years ago and we had been at this location a number of times, never had been told this before. Consequently, we did not leave a tip and have not been back since. We live a 5 minute walk from this restaurant. The quality goes up and down; this past year the Keg has been very inconsistent.
We had a great walk in experience on a Saturday night. We were more than happy to sit at the high top bar located in front of the actual bar as a walk in. Its a little crowded seating with people right beside you, but thats OK given our non reservation status. Our waiter was awesome and never let our drinks run out or things go unchecked. Very chatty and friendly. It was busy but the wait time was more than adequate. I shared a Keg Classic with my wife and they separated everything for us as if it was 2 dishes. We never think to go there as an option for live sports. But they had 2 different hockey games on in the bar area which was a pleasant surprise. So well be back. The local craft hazy IPA (Yellow Dog i think?) was delicious and another nice surprise compared to other places with the same old stuff.
Very Disappointing. Food quality was terrible. Anniversary dinner October 11, 2023 at Morgan Creek. We both ordered the Keg Classic prime rib. We ll majority of it was fat or un-eatable. (Picture)!! We ve been going to Keg restaurants since the 70 s. (It was always our meeting place for our group of friends). We used to love Keg restaurants (Vancouver Bayshore & North Vancouver. Over recent years, we ve seen a slow decline of food quality & portion sizes plus increasing ad-on $$ for any extras (vegetables/potato/salad). Sadly, I have to say and after this experience, we ll never go back to any Keg restaurant. (Well okay maybe just for some Billy Miner pie)!!
I have been going to the Keg for over 30 years, when we were being seated our hostess said there is a 2 hour time limit on this table, we have many reservations tonight, I found this very unwelcoming, I had made reservations for the evening so its not like they didnt know how to plan for our being there. I felt like leaving the restaurant then and there, I found this to be very distasteful. We felt rushed throughout our dinner, actually are whole dinner was ruined. Food was just OK. The Keg usually is a good time and good food, not this time.
My cholesterol loves it.
Horrible experience. Food was disgusting and cold. After 40 years of patronage we will never go to another Keg again ever!
Prime Rib was delicious
I had ribs, they were delicious, and our server did a good job considering we were a big table with a decent amount of people and I felt he did his job well.
Great food, French onion soup, stuffed mushrooms, steak, salmon, and of course theyre BREAD!! Whiskey sours are good. Food
Nice keg, fair sized outdoor patio. Staff have always been great.
Service was good, consistent on making sure were good, food tasted delicious as always and the bread was soft and yummy.
Great experience overall
We went yesterday for my husband s birthday. We re asked if there is any special occasion and I let them know, always they serve some ice dessert, which is not that great anyway, but to our disappointment, there was nothing this time. Food was bad, we ordered prime ribs, which were very salty and very minimal amount of veggies, only 3 small pieces of broccoli each plate and 1/4 of beet .and ketchup on the site and certainly we paid too much for that food, very poor quality . We ll never go back there. Not even 1 star
Theres nothing to say. Its the keg
Good food, great service . I especially liked the fries, theyre nice and hot and crispy.
