Great food

I got Empanadas, Chicken Chop, and Grilled Chicken Breast. The Chicken Chop and Grilled Chicken Breast were really tasty, and the salad added a lot of flavor to the dishes. The Chicken Empanadas were good, but the Cheese Empanadas are not that good.

Despite the friendly staff, my dining experience took an unfortunate turn. The owner, along with their family, including a crying baby, disrupted the atmosphere. The constant screams and cries made it challenging to enjoy a meal, and unfortunately, little was done to address the situation. Coupled with the cold ambiance, lack of heating, and the overpriced menu, its safe to say this was not an enjoyable dining experience.

This Colombian resturant was soo good. was missing food from my home in Puerto Rico and wanted to get some food that was similar and this was the BEST place in Vancouver I ve ever visited. The boy that took my order was very nice and welcoming! Would 100% recommend.

We had a poor dining experience here recently. The food was not bad but the restaurant s ethics left much to be desired. I would suggest that customers verify the cost of everything (both for eat-in and take-out) before you order and check your food before you eat/leave. This is what the server told us when she took our order: - There vegetarian options for empanadas - She had green tea - Empanadas were on special for $1 each Here s what happened: - Server brought Lipton s black tea - Chef made vegetarian empanadas with chicken in it - When we ordered vegetarian empanadas to go, the server charged us $23.. for 8 empanadas, three times what we had been quoted - When we asked her why we were told they were $1 each, she then said that was a special for dine-in only. Something she failed to mention when we ordered the take-out or when she told us the price in the first place. - We told her we would not have ordered the ones to go if we knew they were going to be $3 a piece for such tiny pieces and she had said they were a dollar, she said she would ask her manager. - She came back, altered the price by $1. Yes, she charged us $22 for 8 empanadas after telling us they were a dollar each. Still, we tipped anyway because that s the way we do things here. We act with integrity. Sadly, the manager who asked the server to still charge us $22 for what should have been $8, has now taken away any future business from me or my dining companion. And forced my hand in writing this review. I agree mistakes happen, but when brought to their attention, a restaurant should own up to their mistake and absorb the price difference, not push it to the customer - that is akin to misrepresentation/misleadingand reflects unethical and dishonest business practice. Ultimately, that restaurant left a terrible experience.

Cool options like the stuffed plantain but could be healthier. Was great to be allowed to get a salad even though I didnt see it on the menu too

Seriously one of the best restaurants thats tucked away. Never would have thought it was this good, but Im definitely coming back.

Hidden gem

We spent more than 15 minutes waiting for our account to be able to pay, we spoke to about four staff members, one of them to the head waiter, who ignored us and until we went to the head of the place, they handed us our ticket.

Very good service

The staff is super friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was perfect for our occasion(birthday). The Margarita was on the rocks, salty and sweet. I have never liked plantains and the ones I had were tasty(while hot, the one I saved till last wasnt as good but thats my fault for leaving it). The fish was fried whole, and for my first experience the bar has been set high. Have you ever had coconut rice? Until yesterday I had never had the best choice of rice I could have made. In short, dont hesitate in heading here for a night of adventure. Thank you Miguel and family for the wonderful experience.

FINALLY GOOD COLOMBIAN FOOD IN VANCOUVER!! Just had their empanadas today they were BOMB.

Tried the pollo en salsa. Super satisfied with the flavour, presentation, and quality of their food. Service was super friendly and knowledgeable. They were great at recommending dishes to first time customers. If you want a place to try authentic Colombian cuisine, this is the place.

-Paisa tray: 5/10 little beans, two strips of meat and 3 cm avocado (old). The rice, mature and chicharrón was good. (38 cad, excessive price for what it was) -Good empanadas (3 each and with two bites you finish them, they are mini) -The regular atmosphere: there was a band playing but the volume was so high that the artists voices were distorted and nothing could be understood. -I saw that they used melted ice from one bucket to fill another. I dont know if they do the same with juices or jugs, I have a doubt. Overall a 6/10. As if to prove it, I dont think Ill come back.

We went on July 20 (Colombian Independence Day) and we enjoyed the Bandeja Paisa and Pescado Frito. And to finish it off, we got Mazamorra which was delicious.

Wow absolutely incredible! Its super authentic and delicious with good prices. Id recommend to anyone and will take my family here.

Amazing food, just like the colombian taste. The only reason why I m giving 2 stars on the service is because today October 15th / 2023 there s a girl in the evening shift that seems to be angry and the service she is offering has nothing to be with what we are used to as clients. Her face her way to answer is not exactly what I was expecting. Hopefully the owners notices this, cause is not the right way, whatever is happening with her and her personal life shouldn t be an issue at her workplace.

I was also able to party on the weekends in this place and I really liked the live groups and the Latin atmosphere. Love the flavors of the food and of course the excellent service of its workers. Thank you for representing us far from home. Delicious Bandeja Paisa & excellent customer service!!

Really great Colombian food. Had the mazorcada and bandeja paisa. Both were delicious and now I need a nap. Vegetarian options: They have vegetarian options for some dishes including the bandeja paisa

Unfortunately I didnt give it 5 stars after seeing what they charge for a can of Coca-Cola (3.99) that price is not charged in any 5-star restaurant. Excellent food and service.

Amazing Colombian food. Lived in the area for a year and my first time trying. Deep rich flavours, great value in every dish, and very friendly folks.

I highly recommend this family restaurant, they are Colombian, sure youll get the real Colombian taste in all the dishes. Miguel is really nice, and he speaks English fluently so he will be able to answer your questions. Sometimes, food takes a while, although I think its worth the wait.

Food so good will bring my friends here and family

One of the only spots you can eat great homestyle Colombian food. Portions are decent food quality is great and the owners son is my highlight every time we go. Such a fun, genuine, attentive young man. Give it a try, you won t be disappointed. My only complaint is it can sometimes be a touch expensive compared to similar offerings nearby.

They served me sour, old chicken, bland and sloppy beans. Plantains and rice were enjoyable but I feel thats a given. I walked in and a server with red hair approached me and I said, Id like to order takeout and she replied, what. Oh I need a menu .. Ok fine your establishment doesnt care for customer service, but what about simple manners? Maybe they are just kind and serve better food to people who speak their language. Its kind of how things go sometimes. Saw a review that said best Colombian food in North America - almost puked reading that. Or maybe it was the rancid chicken .. Highly NOT recommend eating here.

Union Latinos Food offers delicious and amazing authentic Columbian food. Our friends had brought us to this hole in the wall restaurant and we were blown away by the portions and quality of the food. It is a family owned restaurant and the son, who is their server is friendly and attentive. Parking is limited but there is parking available on the street. Check it out because you wont be disappointed!

The customer services from the hostess and waiters are amazing, but the food no so much, quite pricy for the quality of it, I order fish since the owners are from the Pacific coast of Colombia, and I was really disappointed. The waiters have an iPad (fancy) to take orders, but they are not able to produce a final invoice, customer has to stand up and approach the cashier and pay them instead of getting the bill at the table and be able to pay. There is LOTS of room for improvement, I wish you good luck

I have been missing my peoples food for so long, and amazing people had created thia beutiful and amazing restaurant. Im telling you, if i could marry a restaurant this is the one!! Oh yeah baby! Is so goood everyone needs to try it!!

This is the second time I went, but I wont go back and not because of the food but because the service is bad. You cant make fun of customers when youre listening to them. To Mrs. Sofia, no, we were not annoying customers, no. It was a comment asking her what type of fish she served. And if their ajiaco has nothing to do with the chicken broth without chicken and potatoes that they served me, with some guascas bathed in oil. To improve the potato, it is cooked with the chicken, the cob until it falls apart and thickens. The capers are not liquefied, much less the guascas, and they do not contain cilantro. And one understands that you cant get the ingredients but if you dont know how to prepare something or you cant get it, dont serve something poorly done. The first time I went and I liked it. The service was terrible too but I came back because I thought it was delicious. But this time it was a fiasco. And after the fact, speaking badly about the clients did not cover it, I asked them not to bring anything, it was because I heard them making fun of my mother. Daring.

This restaurant is always the best. My wife is from. Colombia and has been here just over 2 years now. Any time she misses home I bring her food from Unions and she is happy again. It is like magic really.... But for real their food is very tasty and the most important, it is authentic.

Good variety of Latin-American products and service

It was my first time here and it looks like it will be my last. I liked the vibe, the service was decent, and I waited for about half an hour for my order. What surprised me was the food. The empanadas were good but the arepas were so inconsistent. One was super hard to eat that I couldnt finish it. The other one was also hard and had a lot of salt. For the price, I was not happy. I love supporting local businesses, but I am disappointed with Union. Its sad because I saw that they had good reviews and I was eager to try it.

Not really good Colombian food. I m from Colombia and the food in this restaurant is not very tasty. It is a shame as it s the only Colombian restaurant in Vancouver. That is the reason that I have given several chances to this restaurant. But it s not worth it.

Their food is very tasty. If you are coming to Surrey (and if you are from LATAM), then this place is a must. Totally recommended. Aspects to improve: fastness of their service. Sometimes it takes a while for them to prepare the orders (45 min or more). Their printed menu should be improved as well. You cant even see the prices there.

If you want good Colombian food go here! The restaurant is small and not fancy but the food was amazing. They had soccer playing on tv and an authentic Colombian barrio feeling. We were in the mood for some delicious authentic food and they delivered! The flavors were amazing and the service was friendly!

Super friendly service and amazing food! My fiance is from Colombia and the food is very authentic We got the sancocho soup, and he got the flank steak (sobrebarriga). The beans were so flavourful and the empanadas were delicious. Also make sure to try the aborrajados! Definitely going to come back to this family run restaurant

I absolutely love this place and its food, customer service could improve substantially, they took for ever to take the plates away from our table. Server never came by and asked if we needed anything else. We could must definitely had some dessert but server never offered. We ordered some tinto ( coffee) an it took them like 20-25 min to serve, that was very disappointing. Also a lot of their plates are not on the menu for some reason. A lot of room for improvement but the food is amazing!!!
