My husband and I stayed at Holiday Inn express Swift Current for 3 nights in late November. We travel a lot in the U.S. for business and we usually stay at Hampton hotel. Since we couldn't find a Hampton in Swift Current so we chose Holiday Inn Express in Swift Current, which turned out to be the worst hotel experience we have ever had in a long time. First night we arrived, I went in the gym and found out both of the treadmills are not working (they aren't even plugged in due to the wall outlets don't match the plugs on the treadmills ). So l used the elliptical. The gym is very small compared to other holiday inn I have stayed in. There was another person came in during my workout and he wanted to use the treadmill. I told him they are not working. He tried to make them work then finally gave up and left the gym. After my workout I went to front desk and told the staff about the issue. He said he would take a look. Later that night he called my husband's phone and said they couldn't fix the treadmills. They would take off $30 on our first night bill. So the next two days, I checked the treadmills, still didn't work, and there were other guests came in and left in disappointment. And by the way, the day we checked out, they didn't take off the $30 like they promised. Second, the hotel was under construction when we were there. First floor and second floor's rooms are not available, breakfast took place in a small meeting room, food was mediocre. It was noisy during the day when I was in my room. Maybe it's because of the construction work. However, none of these (broken treadmills or construction) were mentioned on their website or app. If we knew there is no treadmills available and construction going on, we wouldn't have booked this hotel. When we left, we were charged $607 for 3 nights. For this price we would expect better quality of service.
Great hotel right near lots of shops and grocery stores. Very clean rooms and comfy beds and pillows. The Hotel is currently going through a reno but I was on the top floor where all the renos have been completed. I liked that there was a fridge and microwave as well as a coffee maker in the room. The pool and hot tub looked nice but unfortunately i did not get a chance to use them. The free breakfast was amazing. Oatmeal sausages bacon cereal muffins toast pancake maker fresh fruit and so much more. My only wish is that the water in the shower was hotter!
Worst night I have spent in a hotel as soon as I rolled up and saw a bin with open door with garbage spilling out the front I knew it would be a nightmare. Holiday Inn more like Bates hotel, checked In got to room with a bunch of hotel contrators sitting directly in front of window less than a meter a way my thoughts were let them have fun even though no privacy. I thought I would check with the clerk and he told me not to worry they would not be there too late. 10:15pm I could not deal with the music and loud talk any longer. I lost my cool with the front desk and finally got my peace. Upon check out I requested the GM call me but obviously guests are not important and did not call.
Newly renovated rooms, breakfast was good. The only thing I don’t like is the wood floors which you can hear others walking around - get the top floor and it’s not a problem. |Located on north end can walk to the casino. Restaurants are near by as well.
King Size suite was spacious with jacuzzi tub but jacuzzi did not work. Entire hotel was under renovation and staff was not very helpful and loudly talking in Filipino throughout the lobby. Treadmills didn't have proper plug ins and when I asked I was told I didn't know how to work them. Came away with the feeling that there are never ending reservations throughout.
When I stayed the hotel was still under renovation, so knowing that I will only really comment on the renovated room we stayed in. Beds are comfortable. The lighting in the room had the harsh white lighting. Although the lights are bright the room was somewhat dark. The bathroom could use more lighting. The shower water pressure was weak. The water did not get real hot, but was good enough for the summer. Breakfast was the usual you would expect. Great selection of yogurt flavors which was nice.
It's okay, I'm not sure if there are better options. The staff was awesome. The rooms and breakfast are not as good as the other holiday inn express I've stayed at. They're currently renovating and when complete I'm sure it'll be much nicer.
The hotel and rooms need renovations. It's old and needs repairs. The room window was covered with poly from the outside blocking all views. Early in the morning we were woken up by the sound of a spray paint gun. After one shower, the water to the shower was turned off for no reason, we had to call to get it turned on. Luckily it didn't happen when someone was in the shower. There were some weird construction noises. Rooms could definitely use some renovation. Pictures attached.

Did NOT apricate the Noise in the hall be 4 i fell asleep & IF my Sister had slept in the Entrance room 2 our Sweet & ME in the Bed Room with the door shut then ME & My Snoring Would NOT have Returned the Noisey hallway noise & cause others a harder Nights sleep from then 3 am on. Rooms: The room we took was there 2nd best the entrance room i was in had a fridge microwave & coffee maker besides hall way fountain tap & sink Nearby activities: Stores + casino even discount offered to go there Safety: The casino has security guards staff took care of hall ways party noise rite away & they supposedly had back up Walkability: Walking distance to casino & stores Noteworthy details: Amazing LQQKING solar power setup in the foreground to a farmers field
Very old hotel and very noisy rooms. Its not loke any other holiday inn. Completely money vaster.

CONSTRUCTION ONGOING. May 3 2024. Started at 0900. Just so you dont book the non-refundable room and then get the obvious msg. YES, its on the front page after everything you would stop scrolling for to book a room. Rooms, clean. Front desk, helpful/kind.

In terms of Holiday Inn standard definitely is sub par. The rooms are outdated, and the gym was in terrible condition. All of their equipment was run down and/or broken and did not function. Probably the worst holiday inn I have stayed at.
Update came back through was the only option, much better experience mist have just been the day. Well used to stay here lots. But not anymore. I stood at the front counter for 10 minutes waiting for service. It was late night staff was just sitting in the office Rooms

If I could give the staff a rating it would be 10/10. They were all very friendly and polite. We have never stayed at a Holiday Inn before and we will be changing now with the service we got. Quick service at the front desk. Clean and spacious room.
I will not stay at this hotel ever again. The nightly rate for the hotel was more than I typically pay for a hotel but my daughter wanted to stay at the same hotel as her team. For how much I paid, I had higher expectations. This is one of the most disappointing hotels I have stayed at in a while. When first entering the room, we noticed the room stunk. I don t know what the smell is but it was not pleasant. My daughter swam in the pool and the water was slimy. I went down to the gym as I always do in a hotel to find one treadmill out of order . The elliptical (which is always my first choice) was awful. As a gym goer I have never seen such a more cheaply made elliptical. The other treadmill was terrible, every 5th to 6th step, the treadmill belt skipped making it impossible to walk on. I had to settle for the bike which the seat wouldn t properly latch so it moved constantly which felt unsafe. There was random broken off pieces on the floor around the bike and elliptical, I don t think I want to know what happened there. Water cooler but no cups. Gym was very disappointing. Go back to the room to shower, and the floor of the tub/shower was absolutely disgusting. I wish I had brought sandals to shower in. Didn t feel clean after that shower. The bed was so hard and uncomfortable. Hardly slept and woke up with a sore back and overall body. The elevator was loud and sketchy and felt like it could breakdown at anytime. Even took the stairs. Only positive was the staff was fantastic.

Normally, this is a great pace to stay. However, this time, the room was insanely hot no matter what we did; the people above us were ridiculously loud and stomping on the floor past midnight plus again all morning; there was literally a chunk of wall trim on the floor in the middle of the hallway; breakfast wasnt great; and the room door SLAMMED shut unless you helped it close slowly. I must say, I was a bit disappointed this time around.

Checked in at 8 am, sound asleep front desk called the room , they called my cell, asking when I was checking out. There was no apology for waking me up they did nothing to make it better for me when checking out. They said that they didnt know if I was still in the room even though I hung a do not disturb sign on the handle I filled out a guest registration I basically parked right in front I showed the clerk where I was parked. When I went to check out I told them of what happened there was again no apology and Jessa justifying that the housekeeping staff need to clean the room completely disregarding that I paid for stay at the hotel I was completely disregarded. I highly suggest finding other hotels in the area as this one is poorly staffed and poorly managed. And on top of this as well I asked him twice about my hotel rewards two days later still nothing was added to my rewards card.

Dont recommend the hotel. 30 mins waiting to check in. Finally got to room and found dead bugs in the bed. Asked for a different room. Got one with holes in walls. Brutal!!
Outdated, not clean and rude staff. It s fine for a last minute stay on a road trip. Tub was very dirty, hair on sheets and staff at check in was rude and didn t bother to smile or speak us, was on the phone.

This hotel is great, if your headed out west its perfect to stay at. The manager Denise is fantastic and the breakfast is amazing!!! The rooms are so clean and the bedding smells like laundry which I love. The soap and cream products are Dove and I loved that!!! We stayed in a suit and it was like a mini condo which was very nice. We will def be back next year. Oh yea there is a indoor pool and hot tub!!
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Its in a great location, its clean, and has a fantastic breakfast. Its everything u would expect from a well run hotel.
My 2 night stay was alright. Bed was comfortable, only thing was it was super hot in the room when I checked in 29°C is a little uncomfortable and it took forever to cool it down. Window only opened about 4x6 inches so it wasn t like it could have been cooled with outside air.

I was disappointed in this hotel. The room did not at all look like the pictures, it felt old and dated. The bathtub had a big brown stain, the finish had come off. The air conditioner was noisy. We changed rooms, the stain was smaller in the tub and the air condition was better. I was told all the bathrooms in the hotel were the same. They are in the process of starting a renovation. I would not recommend this hotel.

I tried to check in a bit early, but was told my room wasnt ready and to have a seat,so I did. While I waited, I saw several other people check in. After about an hour, I returned to the desk (15 feet from where I was sitting) and asked about my room. The new person there reached down and grabbed my keys like they had been there for quite a while. I asked about it. Nothing. No apology, nothing. I went to my room, which appeared clean. The tub is worn out, but still clean. The next morning whole closing the shower curtain, I found 2 previously used wash cloths on the curtain rod. So, I definitely knew the shower curtain hadnt been replaced from the prior room guest as I also had their used wash cloths. Not a good stay. The staff was not engaged and the hotel needs an update badly. I wont be back to this IHG hotel.

We stayed here on Nov 26/23. The stay was amazing, from the time we checked in to the time we left! The staff is amazing and the breakfast was Delicious. I highly recommend staying here!!!! Rooms: The room was very clean, spacious and the bathroom was very nice! This room made our stay wonderful!!!
Rooms are clean and organized, front desk reception was friendly and professional on check in. However the elevator broke while I was inside. The fire department was called to assist, inside for around 20-25 min. The only apology I received was from the firemen. Very disappointed. Safety: Issues with elevator functionality which could cause a safety issue.

Worst stay ever! Do bot waste your time or money, had made multiple noise complaints through our stay and none were dealt with and the last time I called the front desk hung up on me! Now trying to reach the general manager and she is avoiding my emails and phone calls! Poor management!!!
Hotel is occupied more than 80% hard find a parking lot in front. Also breakfast only 3hours. That main must full of people in a small room without mask.so have to check out with out breakfast.even this a little old holiday inn still better a motel in this town.room is clean

Was disappointed with the cleanliness of room. Moved ottoman and there was a bunch of cookie crumbs and potato chips under it. When I mentioned it to front desk. Clerk responded by saying oh thats to bad and turned away

Pretty nice hotel. Breakfast was above average and the rooms were pretty nice. I really like the showers having all the amenities in them. Far less wasteful with regards to packaging and super convenient. Also the staff were friendly helpful.
My cousin and I were originally only go to stay one night (Sat) but ended up being there for two. I paid Sat they paid Sun. The price was $30 different. I asked about having mine reduced but the clerk said he couldnt credit back my MC because I had the higher rate for Sat. Seems like a bit of, I call B.S. We stayed in the same room both nights with no additional house keeping.

One of the most poorly managed site by the IHG.. I was welcomed with no greeting, no IHG recognition, yellow patches in bath tub, dirty toilet bowl and half bottle of used lotion during this pandemic. Rooms : 1/5

I requested a accessible room because of my health the guy checking me in said there wasn t any and that my room is at the end of the hallway this motel has no consideration for people with disabilities the parking lot is half paved and when I asked him a couple of questions he made a frown as if I was bothering him there are very few electrical outlets in the room but no usb plug-ins

Had a great experience with my family that includes a 3.5-year-old and a 10-month-old. My biggest concern with hotels is always how bright the rooms are at night... Here it was quite dark and the few lights that were on in the room were very easy to cover. My boys slept well so this hotel gets 5/5! Continental breakfast was delicious with good nutritious variety and the swimming pool was wonderful for my oldest. Will certainly return next time Im in Swift Current.
Filthy, outdated and beetle infested rooms. Literally bugs everywhere in our room including on the pillows and all over our clothes. Very little offered to rectify although we were moved in the middle of night after demanding something be done. Couldn t pay me to stay there again.
Was not impressed. The pool and hotel in general is in need of some work. The water in the pool was wired. It tasted salty and the hot tub was green. The pool area was dirty and in disrepair. Railings and ladders were loose. There was trim missing from places and the drywall was patched and unpainted. There were also bits of stuff floating in the pool. Room service didnt get to our room till 4 in the afternoon. We had left, come back and left again before they got to it.

Hotel is okay for a quick overnight stop. Rooms had modern amenities but severely outdated and stained carpet which put a damper on the whole feel. Service was subpar but I did show up at 11pm with no reservation so thats fair enough. Breakfast timing is super weird and could be extended to allow guests more time to eat and avoid the large rush that I saw. Seating area for breakfast is small which only adds to this point. The day I was there, they had one staff member working in the breakfast area who couldnt even keep up on food let alone cleaning. No tables are cleaned between guests and garbage was overfilled. Location next to the casino is nice if you are into that type of thing. I did not try to other amenities but I did overhear another guest complain that the pool was over chlorinated.

Staff laughs at you when you ask for a corporate rate. Then asks who pays for the room, meanwhile my name is on the credit card. Most unprofessional, will not stay here again.

Muddy parking area
Have stayed here multiple times in the past. This is the first time that a computer error caused the wrong style of room to be booked. The front desk staff quickly fixed the error and gave me the room I originally booked. I will definitely stay here again every time that I work in the Swift Current area.

This Holiday Inn overall seemed a little dated. The toilet in our room had trouble flushing and the walls were a bit thin. It just seems like it needs some TLC. They had some guidelines posted for how to operate during the pandemic, but it seemed just like that, guidelines. In the shower they had three large pump bottles for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I think now would be the time to switch to the individually wrapped ones, as opposed to trying to save money with bulk items? Breakfast was offered still, imagine a continental breakfast but you ask someone for the things. Less of an opportunity to grab 6 sausage patties, but you get free food! I mean, it was a fast check in, and a place to sleep! It was great for that.

False advertising! Booked an executive king suite based on the photos showing a separate room in which the king bed was in, we did this so we could set up our toddlers playpen in a different area for sleeping. Upon arrival we found out that there are NO rooms in the entire hotel that have a separate bedroom, so we had to make do and set her up as separately as we could, then turn off the lights and silently eat our supper in the dark after her 8:00 bedtime :( definitely will not be returning to this hotel.

Found a bug crawling in my bed while i was trying to sleep. I called the front desk and she assured me that it was not bed bugs because they know about bugs in the rooms in the summer.

This place is amazing, the staff really make your stay so welcoming. The rooms need a little touch up but are very clean. The housekeeping staff are so happy and friendly, we asked for extra towels and got them in seconds. My son loves the breakfast, the pancake machine blew his mind. The food is really good and has tons of variety. One if the best hotel experiences I have had, everytime I stay!
Very bad treatment. They told me that they send me money via email... Four hours after I traveled and left Hotel, I called and they told me they wouldnt give me the money back... and I should come back if I wanted it... I told them it wasnt a mistake and that the host told me he would send it. I told them to send with any way and i spent many times.and She can emailed me the amount but she hung up the phone in my face.. and she told me you have to come back if you want your money.. Very bad treatment

I had booked a room back in July for a wedding and I called last week on Tuesday to confirm and change one of the days for reservation. When I called they said they had no record of me booking there so I had to find a last min hotel and almost didn t find one. Then my phone is blowing up they are telling me they are charging my card because I never checked in. Staff is very unreasonable and rude and can t get ahold of management. I ve never had an experience with a hotel that doesn t put the customer first and own up to their mistakes. Would not recommend this place if it was the last place to stay. Stay clear.

Clean and well kept. Getting a little run down but not bad. Customer service is exemplary. I did not like the bed in the room I had the first night so I told the front desk. They put me in a bigger room with two beds without any issues or extra cost. I was very comfortable in the room from then on. The free breakfast they provide (every morning) is easily one of the best I ve ever had. I highly recommend this place if you need someplace to stay in Swift Current.
By far the worst service and hotel stay so far and Ive stayed at some pretty cheap places basically avoid the breakfast the first day bacon undercooked basically half cooked half raw. Same with sausages except majority of the time they are raw. Loudest cleaning staff no courtesy to people who work night shift they will vacuum outside your room door also slam doors all day. Worst sound proofing to the point you can hear what the next room is watching on the tv would not recommend.

Our stay was awful! The man at the front desk barely said 5 words to me as we checked in. We found 5!!!! Beatle like bugs in our room, and they charged us twice on our visa. When my husband calmly asked to rectify the situation they where rude and denied it happened. The only positive thing was the pancakes. Do not recommend this hotel!!

Disappointed that there was no hot water to bath or shower on the morning of January 4th and no compensation for it. When I entered the hotel there was no motion opener for the outside door. I had to try to press a handicap button to get the swing door to open slowly, my arms carrying bags. When I returned with a luggage cart to bring the rest of our families luggage, the 36 wide door was difficult to get the luggage cart to fit through. The security swing latch on the door of room 428 was damaged and needing repair. The coffee served in the breakfast room was instant, more disappointment. I can put up with a lot but there were too many issues with this hotel to not leave a review.

Awesome staff. A very cold -30 nite and they borrowed me a power cord to plug in my diesel truck. Good breakfast with BACON . And all the usual even gluten free bread for those in my family that are gluten intolerant. Good comfortable beds. A very good experience.
We lucked out and got a room on cancellation during a snowstorm. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and in good repair. A fairly standard Holiday Inn room. The breakfast buffet options were decent enough.

breakfast is really bad, no bowls or plates or utensils in the room, albeit mini sized paper cups were offered. can opener provided in every room yet no way to cook other than the microwave. You are not allowed to bring in your own cooking items or even a hotplate. I could probably fit one can of chunky soup into three of the paper bowls provided. fridge size is what you would expect in a dorm room. previous reviews mention coupons everyday to the restaurant at the casino, I was not informed of this upon checking in and was never offered a coupon my whole stay. I stayed almost a full week before I caved and had my boss switch me hotels... I will never be back!! I honestly do not understand what makes this the second most expensive place to stay in Swift Current, would probably have a better/similar time in a dingy $50 motel. Most furniture in the room was damaged but that was the least of my issues ~!! When the blizzard hit, it really showed how unprepared they were to deal with snow buildup in the parking lot.
Not very clean it didnt smell clean, crums on the floor,a/c heater system not working right. Disappointing.

Nice and clean, some problems with 3rd party reservation but got a good deal. The hot tub dried my skin out more than usual. This is right next to the casino and was a good distraction from a long drive.

Rooms are nice. Bed was comfortable however not the most sound proof hotel. Mechanical problem with the room heater that is noisy when it activates every 10-15 min all night! Not recommended if you re a light sleeper!
Nice place, helpful staff, reasonably priced, one of the better places to stay in Swift current. Very good breakfast. I will be staying there again.
Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. However, I did not understand their TV. many channels that were listed in the on-screen guide and on the paper guide in the room were just audio only. So you didnt know what you could watch or not watch. Also, the shower heat control had a very small range between hot and cold. Additionally, all the fine holes in the shower head were blocked by mineral so you only had a course pulse stream.
