A place where you can enjoy delicious Chinese food. The beef, in particular, was incredibly tender and absolutely delicious. You can take leftovers home, but there is an additional charge of 1 AUD for this service.
Delicious food and generous portions :) My personal favs were the black pepper beef, super juicy braised pork belly and fried rice. Recommend checking it out.
Had an anniversary dinner in this restaurant. We chose this restaurant because of the good review in Google. Ordered fried rice, spring rolls, and the braised pork belly. I would say the food is okay. Had better food from other Asian restaurants, though. The table is too small for all the plates, utensils, bowls, drinks, and the food we ordered (we have to put our water, drinks, and beer to the empty table beside us). And there is a time limit of 1 hour to use the table that is allocated to us (that is, including ordering and eating). This is not even an eat all you can restaurant, so why the time limit? And the table given to us is wobbly as well. Although we were told beforehand about the time limit. Talking about the atmosphere of the place , I did not find this restaurant a pleasant place to dine in. It is too squishy . The table of the other diners is too close to each other. No inviting music to listen to while waiting for our food, the decor is none existent. When we paid for our food, we were not told that there would be a credit card surcharge if we paid by credit card. Some people may find this restaurant ok. But for the price of the food, the quality of the food, the atmosphere, the ambience, and the overall dining experience, you better off going to other restaurants around the CBD.
I recently visited a small, cozy Chinese restaurant in Sydney, and the food was unique from other places. It gets busy at night, so we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. The food took a bit longer, about 30 minutes, but it was definitely worth the wait. The portions were big—more than enough for one person but not quite enough for two. The service was great, especially from a friendly Indonesian lady who checked in with everyone and made sure we were happy. Overall, the food was tasty, and I enjoyed the experience!
Cosy little spot on this side of Town Hall for a homey Asian fusion feed! We really enjoyed the Mongolian Lamb, pork fried rice and salt and pepper squid 🦑 affordable and a variety of dishes, so something for everyone! In our opinion, service has a bit to be improved upon. We felt rushed to vacate our table even though we had finished our food ~25 minutes before the time they told us to free up the table, and when we asked for an extra cup as it had dropped on the floor, they told us there were already 5 cups for 5 people on the table.
Delicious restaurant very close to QVB. Really recommend the soft shell crab and beef stir fry. Beautifully crisp and the beef was so tender and the seasoning was absolutely beautiful. However, the Singaporian vermicelli was a complete miss. The seasoning was not there and it was very oily. Regardless, I think it may be because it was busy on a Sunday night as the food took a little longer to come out. Overall, the protein dishes were very good so would recommend.
This is the second time I went here. The first time was with my husband and we waited about an hour to have a dinner. When our patience was almost exhausted, the first dish totally dissipated our impatience — it was sizzling and emitting mouthwatering aromas🤩Then we were fully comforted by the delicious, authentic and valuable dishes here🤤The cookies sold on the counter were also unique and tasty. Last Friday was our second time here. This time we invited a friend to have a lunch. It’s super fast to seat in and have all the dishes. Every dish was as supreme as last time😋More importantly, it’s not expensive but with a very high quality👍The only tiny pity was they no longer sold cookies🥲 The services were always friendly. The nice waitress would kindly remind us the degree of spice of each dish, which helped us to avoid too spicy to eat and choose different flavours to have a balanced meal. Definitely will come back with family and friends again and again.
Delicious food with lots of flavor and very friendly staff. Our meals were large portions and very fresh ingredients. I loved the spices and tasty ingredients! The staff was helpful with our menu choices, and they made our experience very nice. Lots of choices, and I was excited so they had the spicy options! We highly recommend this restaurant when in Sydney!
Well located. Typical Asian environment.
The people working are so bright and nice. This place has been introduced a lot to Koreans recently, but considering the atmosphere and price, I dont think its a good place to go and eat alone. I ordered the signature meat menu and it was delicious. There are so many Koreans :) I dont think I would recommend it unless you are traveling for 3 weeks and absolutely need to eat Korean food.
The food was fabulous. The staff was friendly and introduced the popular dishes. Enjoyed the meal thoroughly.
The environment and service are great, and the food is also delicious. The only minor drawback is that the fried noodles are a bit greasy.
Very friendly. I had laksa and fried rice with bacon. The food is delicious. I was worried because other reviews said it was salty, but it wasnt salty. The laksa was especially delicious. I will go again.
I dont think its worth praising or having to wait a long time, but like other reviews, its salty. I ordered soft shell crab, beef, and signature noodles (chicken), but the noodles were the least salty and tasted like stir-fried udon? The chicken is also delicious. I wonder how the beef is so soft and it tastes like black pepper and black bean paste. It would be nice if the soft shell was a little less salty, but it tastes like beer! All three tasted above average!
I like the food and the soft chairs and the colourful lights really brighten up the restaurant
The food is really delicious. It will be a good restaurant to eat when you are tired from shopping
Food is good. I liked the Fried Rice but the Laksa just doesnt stand out in any way
If its hot, you can ask them to turn on the air conditioner and they will turn it on. exorcism We ordered 3 dishes: Laksa, Dongpo Pork, and Spicy Shrimp Dim Sum, but we were both so full that we almost ate... A spice that s not bad for Koreans?? Its a feeling If you dont like coconut milk, Laksa may be a bit sweet and you may not like it!! But since I am a ho, I ordered it and it was delicious!! >.< Allup spice~ I asked for more cilantro and ate it haha. Spicy shrimp wontons were on the menu!! Its quite expensive, so if youre Korean! Recommended. Its very similar to the spicy shrimp wonton from Din Tai Fungs dim sum restaurant. Delicious without fail... I wish Dongpo pork had more spice(?), but I have no major objections. It tastes like delicious soy sauce braised pork belly. If you dont like spices, you can order this and it will be delicious. Of course I added cilantro ^_^
Its a great taste... All I can say is that its the best Chinese restaurant... To the point where I regret finding it on my last night in Sydney The store was so busy that it could have been hectic, but the staff were very friendly, which was great. Rock Sarang Black Pepper Diced Beef And I ate something like dumplings as an entry!!!
Amazing food! Worth the line up to get in. I highly recommend making reservations.
The most amazing Chinese food restaurant !! Awesome service from friendly staff. Every dish is excellent. Highly recommend the black pepper beef
I ordered the fried rice with prawns and it was delicious! The staff and service was great and the place overall is pretty cozy
Food is ok however definitely not a 4.7/5. Its very oily. Personally too oily for me. I give it a 3.5/5.
Good food ever i have when i was holiday in syd I promise would be comeback I will recommended for everyone And the staff is very friendly Especially the owner very friendly Know this place from one of the staff, (jessie) thank you for the best recommendation
Good food
Thank you for the good meal i ever have
Food was very oily and the restaurant was crammed and noisy
Came in at a busy time and they seated us and warned us that food would be slow. It was the best meal I had while I was here, I was just sad I didnt find it till my last day.
The pepper beef was to die for so tender!!!
Oh my, does this food taste real? Evenly cooked vegetables and meat waltz and tap dance on my tongue! Of all the things I ate in Sydney, it was simply the most delicious. First of all, as soon as you go to Sydney, you should eat two or three meals of Italian food or bread, and then eat this, right? I was literally shedding tears as I said, Its so fucking delicious. This should be sold in Korea. What should I do? I couldnt believe it and was inhaling it.. Honestly, that spicy fried chicken is so spicy and salty that the meat is very pungent and salty (its delicious), so its like steamed rice. I recommend eating it, and I slightly agree with another reviewer who said that the small frozen chicken tasted like seasoned and fried... I ate all the peppers (it wasnt that spicy), but I felt like I was going to have an upset stomach the next day, so I barely ate all the meat haha. I dont know how many bottles of water I drank... Anyway, the black pepper beef just melted as soon as I put it in my mouth. Black and white chef Baek Jong-won, wow? Ugh? Eat like you would. The first time I ate that spicy chicken, I couldnt forget the taste of the fried noodles, so I went back the next day and ate black pepper beef. The fried noodles were also fried noodles, but the beef was just crazy soft and melted, and I just mixed the vegetables together. Im not good at eating Chinese or Southeast Asian food, so I didnt plan on eating laksa in the first place, and I was a little worried about what might happen if the spices were strong, but I knew the taste was terrible, so I fell in love with the fried noodles at first, so I visited again, and I still cant forget the beef dish, so Im sitting here writing a review. If I come back to Sydney, I will definitely go again, so I hope they stay open for a long time before I come back. I was very nervous about the food after reading the review, but dont expect too much. When I first went to Sydney, I ate Western food for a while, and when I got sick of it, I went there once. If you order beef, it will be a kick. And if you visit around 8 oclock, you have to wait for about 30-40 minutes because there is a backlog of orders. Anyway that was
We had a work dinner here (11 of us) and I have to say it was just fantastic! From the service, the food and the atmosphere was spot on. We had colleagues from other states visiting who were just as impressed. How they can hear chopsticks dropping on the floor above the din of the restaurant and deliver clean ones within a minute was amazing. Thanks Chef N Wok!!
I went for an open run, but it was painful because it smelled like dry dishcloth as soon as I opened the door. The store was hot and stuffy. I dont recommend the open run. I ordered fried noodles and pepper beef dice steam rice. The fried noodles are no different from the fried noodles at other Chinese restaurants, perhaps because I was really looking forward to it after seeing the reviews, but it was on the sweet side. The pepper beef dice were tender, seasoned well, delicious, and good to eat with rice! I dont really understand the term Sydneys number one because I dont have any intention of visiting again.
2nd time visiting. Delicious food and friendly staff. They might like one more chef tho as it always take quite a while to wait for food during peak hours.
Lovely food! I am in love with their veg fried rice.
We came down from Melbourne and choose this place based on reviews, which annoyingly can be a hit or miss. However, all I can say is this is the Best Asian fusion I ve ever had. Tasted beyond authentic and I m very critical of food! I had the Black Pepper diced beef and vegetarian fried rice and omfg. Very simple flavours but the meat is soo freaking tender!!!, fresh meat and fresh veges, I could tell it just came out the frying pan. I m so sad this place isn t in Melbourne . I never leave reviews but this meal deserved recognition. I m not sure about the other dishes here but you won t regret ordering what I ordered. We ordered the same dish to go. Please note the wait time is abit longer 20-40min (not peak time) but worth it for a fresh tasty meal. Maybe don t go during really busy periods. We went on a Saturday night at around 6pm. The place is abit small (tables) and toilets are hard to get to. But none of that mattered to me haha.
Service and food very good. The only thing you can complain about is the toilets.
Very tasty local Asian favourites. We ordered the laksa and typhoon shelter fried rice. Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: Available Parking: Take public transport is my recommendation
We had to go back after having a dinner on our first night in sydney! Food was so good and staff was really nice Once again the food was so delicious cant wait to go back here when we visit Sydney once again!
Even though it was a weekday evening, there was a wait of about 10 minutes and the person who appeared to be the owner was very friendly. I was informed in advance that Laksa would be sold out as soon as I sat down, so I had the black pepper stir-fry dish, and it was the most delicious food I had in Sydney!
I was just walking past thinking I was hungry so would head off to the food areas, then by chance I saw a menu outside of this place and thought to myself: Ohhh heres a food place so took a quick peek at the foods they had and was instantly stimulated enough to go inside of this cozy little place. I was greeted by an absolutely lovely woman who could talk about anything and incidentally even taught me some Indonesian words. Anyway I ordered the Chicken prawn wonton with special szechuan (Sichuan) sauce, which I gotta say, I was not expecting it to be so magically rich and wonderfully moorish, Oh man I coulda eaten a hundred of em soaked in that sauce. Then I had the Seafood fried Noodle which was so fresh so well prepared and this whole experience has made me have to go back to try more and more things. They also have a great Booze list, well, it suits me with different cultural drinks to accompany the many different cultural foods they have. Black Asahi , Soju, wine, Booze and booze. Pros: *Lovely people, both the chef and the lady that greeted me. *Lovely atmosphere. *Very enjoyable food. Cons: *This place should have not been hidden from me for so long, might take me awhile to forgive them.
The fried rice has wok gas, which is amazing
Favorite for their signature noodles, must try, am a regular
good laksa
Excellent dishes, large servings and incredible service and atmosphere.
Passed by this small restaurant many times, finally made it today. No laksa unfortunately today, but the food is very refined and authentic. Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend. Will go back for laksa next time during lunch time
Chinese people don t lie to Chinese people, it s not delicious It is too sweet
The food is absolutely fantastic, portion sizes and spice level are absolutely spot on! Particularly recommend the Typhoon Fried Rice for pescetarian individuals. All of the staff, and especially Lystia, are wonderfully friendly and welcoming and are the main reason I returned! Make sure to reserve a table, as the restaurant is usually full and the walk in list is long. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options are limited, but the few present are very pleasant!
Work processing is seriously slow compared to the number of employees. After cleaning the table, they tried to guide us to our seats, but when another table finished eating, they suddenly disappeared to clean up. The first dish did not come out 40 minutes after we ordered. We asked for the remaining food to be packed, but after waiting for over 10 minutes, they gave us an empty container to pack on our own. I recommend going and eating it when there are no people around. The food itself was very palatable, and it had a distinct taste of being cooked in a wok.
We are very disappointed with the service, extremely unprofessional. We went to this restaurant and ordered the fried noodles. However, during the waiting time of 30 minutes, we were asked 3 times to order more food. After all the waiting and unfriendly behavior of the staff our food didn t come. As soon as the food was ready, we were asked if we want it for takeaway, as they wouldn t allow us to dine in, if we didn t order more food. Having being told this we decided to leave, since we found this request quite forcefully and inappropriate. We had waited for a long time and were not allowed to eat the food we orderer. I thought this is how restaurants worked I have never experienced such a unprofessional and rather harassing behavior of the staff. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. Please save yourself the time and trouble and go literally anywhere else.
Was craving laksa and this was top notch. Flavours were incredible. Lovely staff too. Will be back to try other dishes!
Good food. Their rice is super fluffy. I like. Theyre not scared of leaning into MSG, very yum and homey Chinese flavours whilst also venturing into other Asian cuisines and dishes. (Taiwanese, Singaporean etc not just classic Chinese)
The staff is so friendly and the food suits my taste!!
Veryyyyyy delicious
Wow!
Great food.
Stellar service! I d just landed in Sydney for a day on a work trip, with just an hour to pop out for lunch - decided to walk to ChefnWok as it was near my hotel. But because it was lunch hour, it was full and they told me takeaway still required a waiting time of 25 minutes. The time was a bit tight for me but I decided to wait anyway, believing the wait will be worth it. I sat at a table on the side and started reading my ebook. They got my fried noodles to me within 15 minutes! Legends! Thanks team, you made my day. Oh, the noodles were perfect too, serving size is generous, plenty of veggies, wok taste is on point. I just would like some tofu in if possible for more texture! But it s great anyway (: Vegetarian options: Signature Fried Noodle has a vegetarian option
second time eating here, all the menu is delicious, large portions, friendly staff... will come here again if back to sydn hi ce listya
I think the wait was about 10 minutes? Visit at 7pm I dont know what laksa is, but note that it was sold out. A taste that Koreans can enjoy. It s delicious^^~
Order menu name - Twice stir pork belly This is the most delicious restaurant in Sydney. Its quite spicy, so even if you dont ask for more spiciness, I think its slightly spicier than Shin Ramyun. There was a very delicious smell in the air from the time the menu was being prepared, but as soon as I ate it, it was like this! It felt like that. Since it wasnt served, it felt a little salty, and a bowl of rice costs about $4, but I think it would be better to order rice as well. It was a bit disappointing because it was South America, but I think I would have visited several times if I had stayed in Sydney longer. My acquaintances say that it is a restaurant where everything is delicious no matter what you order.
Whatever you do...dont order the chicken cup... A tiny tiny little bowl filled with onions and like 3 tiny pieces of chicken for around $40...what a joke... *After reading their reply to my review and going through other replies that they wrote under other negative reviews...this is such a disrespectful place to even consider as an option for your upcoming meal...because apparently if you said something negative about their food...instead of taking this feedback on board theyll just lash out at you and attack you in a personal manner as per their reply... An utterly disgusting attitude...and their attitude is similar regardless of how polite some of those negative reviews are...
Very good and (fast) service along with delicious food. We will be back! We are here before an event at the Town Hall and the lovely staff were able to accomodate a very quick turn around on our meals. Plus delicious noodles! Food : 5/5
Its a small Asian restaurrant with nice and pretty average intetior desig, its doesnt seem any special at first. Then you try the food...and OMG. Everything is deliciois really high level, srepared with care&effort, spiced really well. The Black Pepper Beef is the best Ive ever tried. Amazing super tender charchoal grilled medium rare steak cubes with crispy fresh vegetables in a very complex umami heavy black pepper sauce. So perfectly prepared. Must try if you are in Sydney. Portions are quite big, perfect for sharing
Its salty for Korean tastes, but its really delicious. Coming to Australia, it was difficult because all the food was salty, but I dont think Ive ever had a meal as satisfying as here. I went there because an acquaintance highly recommended it, saying he had eaten there twice during his travels, and I had one meal and immediately made a reservation for the next one... If you dont make a reservation, the wait will be long. My elementary school student chose black pepper diced beef as the best food when he came to Australia. I also had soft shell crab, shrimp fried rice, seafood fried noodles, and stir-fried gongsimchae, and they were all delicious! I liked that the servers were friendly and hardworking. Recommended as a restaurant in Sydney.
everything was terrible!
This is the number one restaurant in Sydney. Very friendly. Above all, the food is the best. If you are tired of hamburger, steak, pizza, and fries, this is the place to go. The fried rice menu is delicious, but its really delicious if you order steamed rice with the regular stir-fried menu. If you go to Sydney, make sure to stop by. I recommend it.
A Taiwanese style restaurant, The Three Cup Chicken is more delicious than I eat in Mainland. The kindly waitress gave me suggestions when I ordered . Besides, they provided hot water , many thanks.
Its delicious!
We went with my husband and my baby and had a great experience!! Friendly and efficient service, amazing food. Highly recommended! Ill be back soon!
Loved it! Would recommend
Chicken stir fried noodles, great value, plenty of flavour. Service was on point.
I had lunch at this restaurant recently and ordered the stir-fried vermicelli noodle that came with a few pieces of prawns and egg. The noodles taste was average, but the $20 price is quite premium. The menu caters more to shared / group dishes, so if youre solo or couple diners then it would be hard to find suitable dishes. Customer services is quite bad for me. I had to wait quite long in front of the counter to make my order since all the staff were busy even though the restaurant itself was not that busy (just normal business). In addition, this kind of noodle is usually consumed with chilly sauce, just like normal Asian staple food. However, they would not provide them unless you pay extra $1. Really ? $1 for a few drops of chilly sauce in a restaurant selling stir-fried noodles and laksa soup ? Thats rip-off even for current inflationary economy. The places ambience is reasonable for casual restaurant in the CBD. I paid by cash since I doubt that they will provide other payment method with reasonable / fair cost to customers, knowing that they charged $1 extra for sauce.
You must try the black pepper beef. Its only $38, but its the best restaurant you wont regret at all.
One of the best meals Ive ever eaten! Wow.
Their food is amazing
Had lunch here, food was really tasty and took less than 5 minutes to be served
Typhoon rice to die for
Ive been to this place twice and have tried the seafood laksa and the Mongolian lamb and they were both amazing.
Nice food, warm hearted service. Worthy to go again.
The twice-cooked pork and fried rice are delicious!
On Google, this is noted as wheelchair accessible. And they do have a wheelchair entrance. However, they put a table in front of it and dont allow people with wheelchairs inside. Absolutely not good enough. Spaces that can be accessible should be retained as accessible. Wheelchair accessibility: As noted, it can be wheelchair accessible. But the owners choose to keep a chair in front of the accessible door so wheelchairs cant get inside.
Had the chicken laksa. Hot (super pipping hot), thick, creamy, spicy, tasty. Everything you want in a laksa. 20 min wait, but they warned me when I sat down and I was happy to wait. Excellent value. Friendly service. Food : 5/5
Solid place, we tried the chili basil fried rice with chicken, Szechuan chicken, and garlic kang kung.
Had an amazing lunch here. The lady serving us (maybe the owner) was incredibly friendly, always had a wonderful smile when talking to us. I ordered the spicy Szechuan chicken and the stir fried bean sprouts and both were delicious and full of flavour. My partner is coeliac and the owner was very aware of what could be made gluten free. She ordered a vegetarian fried rice and the lady even went to ask the kitchen to make sure it can be done safely for her before placing the order. The fried rice was amazing too. We can t wait to visit again! Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and coeliac
Good price and generous portion. Fried roce and laksa were delicious! The owner was very friendly. Wonton in chilli sauce is also something you must try. Their food in general are a bit sweet. So ask them to make it less sweet if you like.
Beef and stir-fried vegetables, Chinese-style fried rice, Singapore-style noodles, and grilled corn as a whole dish. I thought it was salty, but it seemed to be a way to bring out the original taste of the ingredients, and it was delicious.
Some of the best food of any genre that Ive ever had. The lady who runs it is one of the kindest and hardest working people that Ive ever met. Look no further, just go and bask in the greatness that is Chef N Wok.
Fantastic traditional Chinese (Taiwanese?) food. The Tofu Clam Ginger soup was very flavourful and filling. All the other dishes we tried were delicious too. Highly recommended.
Haha....if you have traveled through Asia, you wouldnt want to eat here. Whoever considers this restaurant excellent has bad taste or low standards. Any fast food Asian restaurant in the U.S. kicks its rear. I ordered noodles with seafood, and the meal had TWO shrimp + = CHEAPOS should be the name of the restaurant.....one more thing: this is not a real fusion restaurant. Dont let them trip you!
If my condition had been good, I think everything would have been perfect. The fried rice was really delicious and they were friendly.
This was a second visit. The best food I have had! It is a tiny restaurant without many tables and it can fill up quickly so prior booking is a must! We had a cold tofu as an entry. The flavour was heavenly! We had diced beef and mayo tofu. Another perfect dish! The staff are kind and great with bid smile. I will go again when I get to Sydney. Wheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair access
Best vegetarian fried rice I ve ever had! The Entree (salted crispy chicken) was also exceptional. Thankyou Food
Great food with friendly service. The softshell crab is really good
The food we had at chef n wok was unlike any food we had in Sydney. It was the best food Ive had for a long time. In our first visit, we had the clam and ginger soup and the fried veggie noodles. The clam soup was so light, fragrent and just beautifully crafted. The hint of ginger was the perfect amount. The broth was beautiful. A true pleasure to eat. The noodles were incredible, the blend of flavours, they way they were cooked. It gave a sense of meaty, savoury flavour despite being vegetarian. They were so flavourful. On our next visit, we started with the deep fried soft shell crab. The flavours were so soft and with each bite, just made your mouth water. Next we had the veggie fried noodles again, which were again, incredible. And lastly, we had the golden prawns, which were so flavourful and filling. You cannot go wrong. The service was incredible, and the food matched. Cannot wait to return!
The staff are also friendly. The food is so delicious too! Its the best Be sure to go if you go to Sydney
Second time around and still missed the braised pork belly
2024/06/01 (Sat) All dishes were delicious. Its not just the simple taste you might imagine of stir-fried beef with black pepper or tofu, but the combination of seasonings is exquisite. Taiwanese cuisine that can be recommended to everyone.
The food was okay but the problem need to wait more than 45 minutes for 2 dishes.. the first dish and the second one need to eait around 10-15 minutes..
The food here was amazing. Taiwanese Braised Pork and the Black pepper beef is a must to order along with their fried rice. Service is a bit slow i think because they have a full house when we were there. Mapo tofu is really good as well along with the fried chicken and soft shell crab. I gave 5 star service because their FOH team are all lovely. But be prepared for food that comes one by one and a bit delayed if you go in peak time
Walked in at 1:15pm and no more laksa, so ordered a fried noodle , taste ok but oily, had to order a second dish as there s a table spend min of $15 per head, first they sent us a beef when we ordered chicken , waitress tried to blame it on us and insisted we ordered beef, no apology and walked away with the dish. 10 mins later dish came out with chicken but because it was re made , so it was even more oily this time. Based on the service and quality of food . It s a 2 stars .
Love the stir fried signature noodles! Always coming back to get it. Laksa is really good too.
Best food amazing workers
Had a great vegetarian meal here. It was fantastic
Portions are huge! Really good!
Its a place that sells Chinese food and its very delicious. In particular, I had blackpepper diced beef and fried noodles. It didnt have the typical Chinese flavor and was delicious, so I highly recommend it. It has a spicy Korean taste.
Delicious
The seasoning is a bit strong so its a bit salty. Even taking that into account, it was delicious. The owner was friendly, and the fried rice and corn were especially delicious.
The food was so good We order blackpepper beef and sweet sour pork Very taste the food Food : 5/5
It has a high Google rating, so there are a lot of people. Delicious. kindness Its a shame I couldnt eat the laksa because it was sold out. Tofu dish is good as an appetizer.
Thank you very delicious
Very nice Chinese restaurant
seafood fried noodle with 2 medium prawn, 1 slice fish ball, 3 small squild and alot of veg and onions. Taste a little fusion but not bad. Goes fine worh fried squid.
I went there because I wanted to eat Laksa, but it was sold out so I had to choose another menu item. I ordered fried noodles, spicy chicken, and fried rice and it was really delicious. I visited two days in a row. I lost my card outside after paying at the restaurant, but I was touched by the lady owners sincere concern. Highly recommended if you are looking for a friendly and delicious Asian food restaurant!! (I plan to go again the next time I visit Sydney.) It is a restaurant with a waiting line, so if you go at opening time, you can be seated without waiting. !!
We walked in got seated and was informed it would be a one hour wait for our food. We were okay with the wait time, it didnt seem like they were busy as there were only 4 other tables besides us but they couldve had a busy day. The people who came in after us couldnt even get seats and were kicked out after arguing for 5 minutes. The food came out after 1.5 hours. Food was really tasty, and we had no complaints. Sometimes you go to stores where all the dishes taste the same - every dish we ordered had a unique taste. Really recommend the Taiwanese braised pork belly. Service was okay, the waitress forgot I ordered a sprite. All in all, really tasty food spot. Would come back if the wait wasnt so long, but definitely a must try in this area!
Surprisingly good Singaporean / Taiwanese restaurant hidden on the side of a busy street. The best Singapore stir-fried vermicelli we ve had!
This may be the best fried squid Ive ever tasted, and those minced garlic dishes are particularly delicious.
Food was mad tasty! If you get a chance have a meal here
We loved our food last night!! Well balanced flavours. Staff were pleasant, efficient and so positive. The place was packed, but that didn t impact our waiting time.
Thank you the food was so yummy !!
Really tasty food. Was happy to get a table.
Nice food
It was the most delicious food I had in Sydney! I visited twice during my trip and the singapore fried vermicelli was so delicious with the thin noodles! I think the other menu I ordered was better than this one haha. It takes a while for the food to come out haha.
Was absolutely fantastic food with brilliant service but let down was the price of it all..... I would next time look elsewhere cause of price
Really good food, nice service and reasonable prices.
Affordable tasty food in an area of the city with very little options. Highly recommend.
Delicious !
I can t get over how fantastic & innovative their dishes are. Some of the best Asian food I ve ever had
It was quite busy here but serving was so fast. Also, amount, temperature, taste are pretty joyful. I may go there for Laksa in near future
Stumbled across this place after visiting from Adelaide for a few days, do yourself a favour if you just want great food at great value
Food is really really good
great food and friendly service
It was my first time eating Singapore Seafood Laksa and it was so delicious I saved it on Google Maps as a great restaurant in Sydney!! Sprite Lemon is also delicious!! The owner and staff are also friendly!! Highly recommended
I read the great reviews and was not disappointed. Had the Korean chicken and it was incredible. Very friendly and fast service too.
The wait times are long but the staff informed us about it in advance. The food was worth the wait, fried rice and noodles were delicious! Food
Be prepared to wait for your amazing food to be served! The host was upfront about the long wait so was okay with it but the food was delicious. I hope the service can be improved because this place deserves to be known.
The salt is a little strong, but overall its delicious, and the lady boss is very friendly and kind. There is no wait on a weekday evening. You can eat alone, but the food doesnt come out quickly.
The food here was excellent! The edamame and three cup fried chicken were really awesome, some of the best Asian food I ve had. Agree that the service has a bit of room for improvement but still, I would definitely go back.
Very delicious!
Always good food. The basil corn are delicious.
Dont ever get fried rice super salty I dont understand why this place has 4.8 rating I would not come back
I seldom leave negative reviews, but my experience at Chef N Wok has left me deeply disappointed and angry. This evening, despite the restaurant being extremely busy, we chose to walk in and try dining there. About five minutes after being noticed by a server, we were told that any orders would take at least half an hour to prepare. We understood and agreed to wait. However, as we were talking, two customers left, and we were not immediately assigned to the now-available seats. The server seemed to assume we d take those seats but then left without clearing them for us. What added to my dissatisfaction was seeing two other customers who arrived after us being promptly greeted and seated, seemingly without being informed of the wait time. This differential treatment felt incredibly unfair and insulting. When I expressed my discontent to the server, hoping for an apology, her response was merely to ask if we still wanted the seat, showing no genuine resolution to the problem. Worse, she allocated us seats near the entrance where cold air continuously flowed in, clearly the least desirable spot in the restaurant. I never specified needing a particular seat; I merely wished for fair treatment and to be seated as soon as possible. Unfortunately, not only did the server refuse to apologize, but she also insisted that the seat was a good choice. This made me feel profoundly disrespected and discriminated against, leading me to decide to leave. I seriously suspect there are issues of racial discrimination here. No matter how good a restaurant s food might be, if the service is this poor and discriminatory, I will never return. I strongly suggest that management considers the importance of customer service and treating every customer fairly.
Extremely delicious food!! Surprisingly quiet given the quality of both dishes and service. Signature noodles had some nice wok hei, and the fried rice and laksa were also on point. Entrees were well thought out and served hot and fresh. Chased a very satisfying meal down with an iced teh tarik.
Food is seriously good here, so much flavour everything tastes amazing. If you like chilli their chilli paste is so good and tasty.
New favourite place to eat, the wok hay and chilli levels were on point (medium is def too much for beginners, get chilli on the side if unsure), and decently priced beer available. So authentic I might bring my Taiwanese in laws here!
Ordered the signature Pork Belly and Sichuan Chicken. The pork belly was quite nice but the chicken was a huge let down. Too much deep fried batter and very little meat. Barely any customer service.
Goooood tasty food~
Its the most delicious of all the foods Ive had since coming to Australia. It was better than any fried noodles I had in Korea. I can t believe I came here with one day left before my trip. If I came on the first day, I probably would have come every day. I told the middle-aged woman who appeared to be the owner that it was delicious, and she loved it. Seeing that made me feel better. It was the best
FANTASTIC food and service. We had the Chili basil fried rice, Mongolian lamb, and Pork belly. All timely and delicious! Iced Tea Tarik was also great. Hope this place gets a ton of business and stays open - will definitely be bringing friends back!
I had an amazing dining experience at Chef N Wok in Sydney on December 25th. Despite the holiday crowd, the staff efficiently communicated a 45-minute wait before we even sat down, showing transparency and understanding of the challenges on such a busy day. The food surpassed my expectations, becoming the yummiest Ive had in Sydney. Im already craving another visit. The friendly and hospitable staff made the experience even more enjoyable, expressing gratitude for our visit. Im definitely planning to return. The overall atmosphere and service left a lasting positive impression and I cant wait to be back.
I tried the Chicken Signature Fried Noodles and they were AMAZING. Good portion, good taste, attentive service from the staff. I will definitely come back!
Small restaurant with friendly staff and very tasty food! I ordered the black pepper beef and it was incredibly tender. If I wasnt in a public environment I would have licked my plate to leave absolutely nothing on it :)
Deliscious food and lovely staff. The chili and basil rice is so good. Dietary restrictions: We have a nut allergy and they dealt with it really well. Food : 5/5 |
Called in late to get a takeaway- lovely staff. Incredible bok choy with mushrooms (i added prawns). Would go back if i was frequently in sydney
Astonishing! Best Chinese EVER. Absolutely incredible and succulent. Highly recommend Food
A wonderful place to eat. We walked in after reading some great reviews and had some great food.
Really great and tasty food and amazing service. Must try the 3 cup chicken and the Twice cooked pork belly. Both were delicious. The waitress was super friendly and accomodating as well. Just a great experience all round. Worth waiting for. Food
The taste was really delicious, but the food came out too late. I didnt receive my food until 1 hour after ordering. And the food is very salty
the taste is amazing with home-made feeling. the braised pork belly, deep fry squid and even a simple fry vegetable have shown how the chefs heart and skills in cooking. I am loving it
What we ordered was the Taiwanese braised pork belly and dongpo pork, but the meat was soft and salty, so it tasted good when mixed with rice. basil chilli beef fried rice(?) is just so-so. And was it sweet tea? I ordered a drink, but this is honey water, so keep that in mind when ordering!
Delicious food, perfect service
The chef is Taiwanese!
Friend and I booked a table for dinner last night. We were waiting nearly an hour for food. And they are using already pre-mixed all ingredients together which means you wont be able to ask them to take out some ingredients out even if you cant have so my friends been sick since then
Overrated. Restaurant is small, food serving is slow, long waiting and waitress is unresponsive. Overall food is too oily. Not worth the money at all.
So good I kind of want to gatekeep this... Current favourites are the Golden Prawns (salted egg yolk) & the Chilli Basil Fried Rice.
I was looking for a nearby restaurant on Google Maps and came across a high rating. I was informed that I would have to wait 45 minutes and that it would be okay. The taste of the food was important, so I decided to wait, ordered my food, and ate it. I think I did a good job of waiting. Perfect taste!! Its just a shame I found out the day before I had to go home
Excellent!!!
Yummy cuisine with good location, especially for fries rice and spicy deep fried chicken, Sizzling Beef., Suichan Spicy Wenton in red oil.. so delicious. Although too busy during Christmas, need to wait for while, but still worth to wait for great foods.
Very tasty Taiwanese food, especially spicy chicken and wonton Szechuan Definitely will come back again soon Food
This is a really good restaurant... Its a little salty, but its still delicious. Be sure to try the chili basil rice.
Daaamn good I was suspicious of the high ratings Got there was rather busy but still was able to get a table Smelled wonderful Tasted great Service was caring and polite but professional- family restaurant vibes Was so tasty
It s really delicious, certified by Taiwanese, it s even more delicious than Din Tai Fung in Sydney, and it s also very friendly!
Best Taiwanese food in Sydney. The service is good and good is really nice. Must try!
We had lunch twice at Chef n Wok in December 2023 and can confirm all the great reviews. This is best family style Chinese food we tried on both sides of the Pacific. Everything we had was beyond our expectations. This place has the friendliest, most accommodating hosts. It even inspired us to buy a wok when we returned home, and try some recipes. Highly recommended!
Nice meals and accomodating people. Highly recommended
Chef is Taiwanese, so you can taste the authenticity in Taiwanese dishes like the braised pork belly, fried noodles and salted crispy chicken. They have fusion dishes with other Asian countries eg. The Spicy Basil Fried Rice was delicious too! Service was only 4 stars not because they are rude. In fact, the staff are nice. Its missing 1 star only because they are quite overwhelmed, and may take a bit more time to attend to you.
the food is delicious
I had the best meal during ten days of traveling in Australia. Even in the country, they are considered the most delicious fried rice and three-cup chicken.
Beautiful food!! Such amazing flavour, perfect spice level, great variety/portion sizes and very fresh. Staff were also friendly and polite. This place is popular and a smaller restaurant, so would recommend booking if you can - 2 of us managed to get in with a 10 minute wait without booking, but afterwards people without reservations were turned away. It was very much worth the wait so would suggest coming early/booking to avoid disappointment. Highly recommend! Some of the best Asian flavours I ve tasted.
My partner and I stumbled on this place accidentally and we re so grateful we did. The food and service is always 10/10. We love coming here
30 minutes to have my food i was so hungry
The food is delicious. I think it would be best to say that you will sit here first. The place they guide you to is a bit strange. Occasionally I see flies and its a bit annoying. Kind and nice.
Good speculation
I was here for lunch with my wife, greeted by Mrs. Listya. Good food.
food is amazing! the staffs were very helpful and polite.
We had dinner twice during our stay in Sydney. Excellent food!!!
Deserves the almost 5 star rating for the food, one of the best Laksa s I ve ever had!
Great food, very friendly staff
Everything delicious and great service!
The food was fantastic
Been here few times, food always nice. It s bit pricey but they offer good quality ingredients and large portions. Alcohol is also served. Service is good but always need to wave my hand to get the service attention, staff need to look and face the customers not just look down or face the kitchen. Overall good food and quality.
Reading previous reviews my hubby and I decided to give it a go whilst visiting Sydney. We weren t disappointed. Food was delicious, the friendliness of the staff added to the evening. Unlikely Ill ever get again, wish they were just down the street.
Good
This restaurant has excellent seafood chili laksa Singapore-style. Cosy atmosphere. Reasonably priced and very kind service. Main entrance is not wheelchair-accessible unfortunately. Close to Town Hall Station and QVB-Druitt Street bus interchange. Wheelchair accessibility: Main entrance has some stairs, located on steep streetfront, not very accessible.
Small, quiet, affordable, delicious. Perfect lunch spot Dietary restrictions: Accommodated peanut allergy Food : 5/5 |
Excellent food at reasonable for city prices. Owners tend to their customers with genuine warmth and care. Our favouritea so far are the spicy szechuan chicken, beef fried rice and the spicy garlic bok choy - they were all delicious. Good serving sizes and fresh ingredients. We visit regularly and the food and service is consistently excellent. Highly recommended!
Food to greasy, only one option of a glass of wine , pricey for what I got .
A very disappointing experience. The dish I ordered was soggy in oil. Too much. The pork very fatty. And I paid a price for which I would have eaten much better anywhere else. We had wine but only one variety of red to order a glass. The atmosphere was good, calm but very simple. I wouldnt recommend this place.
The food is absolutely fabulous. We had the Mongolian Beef, Salted Crispy Chicken and the Cold Spicy Tofu. Even the dishes from next table smells awesome! :). Only thing is, the waiting time was too long. We waited 40mins for the first dish to arrive, and 1 hour for the 5th one to be served. If I visit Sydney again, I will go back again.
The quality of food is fabulous! I highly recommend this restaurant. Food
This was the most delicious Chinese meal i had ever thank you , we loved it
Long wait, but the food was worth it. The service was excellent. Even when the place was packed, we were attended to promptly. Went on a rainy day and loved the Lemon Tea and Chilli Basil fried rice.
Stir Fried Morning Glory in Malaysian style, Signature Fried Egg Noodle with Beef Spicy Chicken Szechuan. All of them is so so good
Nice little Asian Restaurant! Very polite and caring service. Very good price-performance ration as well.
one of the best Asian fusion restaurants Ive been to Chinese dishes were fantastic but very oily personal favourite was the black pepper diced beef braised pork belly was also great, beautiful flavour basil fried rice had wok hei air con was weak, quite warm in summer
Amazing food Friendly staff I will recommended people to have a dinner or lunch amazing food ever i found Food : 5/5 |
Do you think it makes sense to wait under the circumstances that the staff forgot both of your reservation and order? The staff asked us to leave our phone number and they would call back when the table was ready, and they said that it would take around 30 minutes. Yet, we could not receive any call from them. After 40 minutes, the staff let someone who had just walked in to the restaurant to sit down (fyi the one who had just walked in asked us whether we were queuing up for the table since he came after us). We found that it didn t make any sense so we asked the stuff to check the table, and only after that did they let us in More than 45 minutes after the order was made, we asked the staff to check the order for us as the table next to us had their food served already although their order was made after us. The point is, one of what we ordered (sea food fried rice) was the same as the table next to us. The staff got back to us and said they still needed some time to prepare for our food (fyi guests of the table next to us nearly finished their fried rice) The first dish was finally served at around 21:20 but the restaurant was about to close at 22:00 And they even asked us to pay though we had not yet finished How do you think of their organisation?
Super delicious food with extremely nice people!!! Highly recommended!
I stopped for dinner on the way home. I went to Chinatown, and suddenly I was craving Chinese food, so I went in and it was an Asian restaurant. I went without a reservation and went right in. Its absolutely delicious The food is so delicious! Perfect for Korean tastes! I was eating Prawn bacon fried rice and it wasnt enough so I ordered another one haha. For those coming to Town Hall or QVB! Be sure to visit!
Very good Chinese restaurant
