Ragazzi in Sydney

Small place which we were looking forward to visiting based on some of the earlier reviews (quite booked up as well). Welcoming arrival, cosy/small corner seat. We ordered Beef Tartare (bigger chunks that were rather chewy compared to usual tartare, spolied with excessively spicy supermarket crisps), Raw Tuna (nice tangy orangey sauce), Buffalo stracciatella (didnt really work and tasted morenlike a yogurt/cucumber dip). Our mains pasta dishes were Ravioli alla norma (8 small flavourless pieces in a pickle based sauce), Conchiglie Prawn (probably the stand out dish with a nice XO tomato sauce but perhaps starter/entrée size with a few pieces of chopped up prawn and the pasta couldve been much more Al dente), and finally (after a long wait after the first 2 dishes were finished because the arrogant waiter simply forgot to include with the original order) Parpadelle with Maremma Duck (pasta was nice but the sauce was rather pathetic with slight duck flavour and less than a teaspoon of duck meat). Guess having been to Italy several times, we were hoping for a great comparable experience but we were overall disappointed - flavors good on a couple of dishes but servings small and service patchy.

The tuna appetizer, shrimp and clam shell noodles (with a few mini shrimps) and duck noodles (with a few mini ducks) are delicious, but at this price, the portion is too small, especially one portion There are only 8 pieces of Italian wontons, which are very thin/thin. The portion is pitifully small, not enough to fill your teeth, and for my personal taste I think its too salty... I ordered 3 appetizers (the beef tartare came with a few potato chips from the supermarket ) and 3 main dishes. When the waiter repeated the order, it was fine, but in the end he missed the duck lasagna. We placed the order, but after we finished eating the other two main dishes, they hadn t arrived yet. He checked it and found out that the order was missing. He didn t say anything to us, and he didn t specifically follow up with the kitchen to expedite the missing order for us. In the end, we Waited for a long time... We asked to pay the bill twice, but they (two different people) just asked us to wait very rudely, so when we finally paid the bill, we didnt give another tip, (it happened to be the same waiter who missed the order) and he immediately I have a bad face This is why I wrote a review, I don t know if I think we don t have money to eat... (When I came to Sydney for two weeks, we actually tipped other restaurants every time because people really deserve it!!!) Finally we went to Darling Harbor to eat fried chicken and gelato again...

Aircon dosent really work - so if youre coming in summer make sure you dress for 30 degrees or so. All the pasta is delicious - and dont miss finishing your meal with the lemon rosemary sorbet.

Fantastic service Delicious food Always a wonderful dining experience Highly recommend Sadly our third visit was very disappointing Although the service was excellent the food was entirely different and really not nice at all Everything swimming in butter and one of the pasta dishes was so overloaded with pepper we couldn t eat it . Then the mango desert was just fresh pieces of mango smothered in whipped cream . I hate writing a review like this because we have enjoyed every previous visit so much . Sadly I don t think we will be returning .

The food was alright. However, the experience was unpleasant due to poor service. The waiters appeared impatient and unresponsive, rarely even smiling while serving. We kindly asked multiple waiters for the ice cream we had ordered after finishing all courses as we were in a hurry, but it took over 15 minutes. This happened even though the restaurant was not particularly busy (we dined around 5pm)

The food is decent but a bit expensive as the portion is very small. The restaurant is very small but cute and cozy for a date night.

A slightly rushed late afternoon/early dinner prior to a 5pm concert at The City Recital Hall (next door) was not too much trouble for the ultra helpful staff who ensured our service was only bettered by the wonderful appetisers and pasta that followed. Sitting in an outdoor laneway made Sydney CBD a touch New York ( or should that be Napole/Roma/Venicia?)

Our 3rd time & the food has been fantastic every visit. The restaurant is cosy & lively, probably best for a group of 2 and wouldn t really recommended going in a group larger than 4. Perfect for a date night or catch up with a friend. Potion sizes are just right for ordering a couple of plates to share. 2 entrees and 2 - 3 pastas between 2 leaves you feeling full & very satisfied. Food is light and fresh and the team are friendly and welcoming. Thanks!!

My new favourite restaurant for the best pasta in Sydney! My boyfriend and I went for dinner and were lucky enough to be the last walk in for the Sunday evening. We were greeted by the friendly and welcoming Miriam who made our dining experience all the more memorable. Andrea (at the bar) and Aru were also lovely as they chatted to us and made sure we were enjoying our dining experience. We ordered the sourdough to start and three pastas for our mains - spaghetti cacio e pepe, ravioli puttanesca and cavatelli with stracciatella and tomatoes. All were exceptional as we found ourselves mopping up the pasta sauces with more bread - it was that good! We will definitely be back! Thank you Miriam and the team for a wonderful evening.

The food was delicious, we shared 4 different main meals between us and 2 desserts. Service was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. Its a small area but doesnt feel cramped. Would recommend for an authentic Italian meal.

Disappointing, They Ran out of Pumpkin Ravioli, The Garlic Bread, Pizza and Pesto Pasta were Not Homemade, The Both Base tastes like a Store-bought Bread, The Petso Sauce Tastes like a Store-bought Pesto Jar From Woolies, The Pizza and Garlic bread were absolutely bland.

Exceptional food at Ragazzi. First time trying steak tartare - now I m hooked. Pasta dishes - cuttlefish and duck - were exquisite and the service was friendly and attentive. We ll certainly be back.

Our first time here, and it wont be our last. An intimate restaurant with professional staff, and we were amazed to see it completely full on a Monday lunchtime. A testament to the excellent food and wine. Many tables turned over more than once. We will be back.

The menu at Ragazzi is decent and worth trying for first timers. Highlights of the night were the croquettes and the crab conchiglie. However, as it appears respective to the opinions of other reviewers here is that the service and need to rush and finish your meal here is common. Although we were served by a seemingly approachable waitress, the last 15 minutes of our 1.5 hour booking was as memorable as the croquettes and pasta. My friend and I were enjoying our experience but was continuously interrupted by the staff who reminded us multiple times our booking was coming to an end despite us being noticed prior booking and earlier on at the night. The initially enjoyable experience became somewhat rushed and uncomfortable which is disappointing given the calibre of the food and previous reviews that have pointed out this blindspot.

Came here after a gig on a Saturday. We were starving and jumped straight into the tartare. Good caper-y flavour with the perfect crisps-to-tartate ratio. Then, spaghetti cacio e Pepe and the prawn conchigilie - both devoured quickly. Pasta chew was on point and a strong XO flavoured broth in the conchiglie was v. moreish. A couple chilled reds and we were back out on the street. Will be back.

The service was not good. I came with my partner with a booked table at 8 but weren t sat until around 8:20. When sat, the service was very slow and when asked for a menu, it took more than several minutes to arrive. Additionally, in the end we were also charged for a glass of wine we did not receive due to them running out and had we not read the receipt, would have footed the extra cost at their negligence. As for the atmosphere, the restaurant was very small and cramped. Due to how closely patrons were seated, we were able to hear everything they said and vice versa. Also, for some reason there were boxes underneath the booths, limiting leg room. There are much better Italian places. The food was ok and for once I was glad the portions weren t too big.

As close an experience of being in Italy. Pasta s were delicious & the chianti complimented the flavours . Service was on point and the atmosphere was simple, nothing flashy. Beef tartare was dry & just needed an egg yolk, otherwise left feeling very satisfied! Grazie Mille a tutti!

Once again I was not disappointed delicious food, beautiful place and very great service. Idriss who was our waiter was very polite and engaged all the time. He helped us choose wines for our date. I will definitely come back again!

Best ravioli ever!

The food is always delicious at Ragazzi. This year it was our first port of call after being away for a while, and it did not disappoint.

Very good food!

The food is okay but the portions are too small. They keep urging you to order from the moment you sit down. It takes about 15 minutes for the first pasta to be served. The second pasta is served after almost an hour of waiting. Is it difficult to cook noodles? My noodles cost two servings of spaghetti and a risotto ball, a total of 83 Australian dollars. If you are a plate person and don t lack time, I highly recommend you come here.

Waiting too long I waited 20 minutes for the first noodle and it was still warm. Waited 40 minutes for the second noodle dish Do you want two people to eat from the same plate?

We had a meal at Ragazzi a year or so ago and it was incredible. The pasta and small plates were all tasty and different, the wines were great and the ambience sets a great vibe. I appreciate the hard work that would have gone in to the branding and typography as the menus, coasters and signage are sleek and quite cool.

Love the intimacy and forward thinking food here. Deft execution by the tiniest kitchen brigade in the Sydney CBD. Must haves include i) crab and yuzu ii) fioretto with lemon and chilli iii) conchiglie, prawn and smoked tomato iv) house bread, anchovy and butter v) casarecce and duck vi) panna cotta and blood orange vii) rice pudding w white chocolate. Andrew (somme?) was especially helpful - nebbiolo rec delicious. Yes, it is a small space but be amazed by the dining utility provided by a bar bench no wider than the length of your hand to elbow. My family loved dining here as the service, feel and deliciousness were world class.

Quite possibly the biggest let down my partner and I have ever had in Sydney. After researching for a good Italian in Sydney and seeing Ragazzi ranked in the top 3 from multiple sources we booked in. If you want sarcastic or lying waiters, missed courses, shocking excuse for Italian food (not to mention extremely overpriced) then sure, I would recommend Ragazzi. Youd get better quality at Fratelli.

Had the set menu, pasta dishes and the dessert was good. Was not crazy amazing or anything. Side dishes is below average. Drinks was ok. Anything with pasta in it is a must try, but the set menu was dissapointing cause they didnt offer or ask if there is any other pasta from the menu that we wanted to try.

Food is good but Service was poor - never have I had a server snatch a spoon and fork out of my hands as they thought we did not order a dish (disclaimer: we did order the dish). Maybe more attention to training floor staff would prevent such rude behaviour in the future.

To start off the food was really delicious at this restaurant. Although the portions were quite small they were well prepared. On the other hand the service was awful. When we first came we were put on the wait list and told to wait 30-45 minutes. After about an hour there was no text so we decided to show up and ask how much longer. The host told us that he forgot to text and there were four open seats where we were seated right away. Then after sitting at the bar for about fifteen minutes the bartender came up to us and immediately asked for our ID s before even greeting us. We didn t even order any drinks and at this point we re not even offered the option to place any drink orders. After the food came we decided to order a starter for more food but waited about thirty minutes for them to even start making the starter and we were even asked about desserts before getting the other dish. At the end we were not talked to a bit and just given the card reader to pay and leave. Overall it just felt like we weren t really welcomed at the restaurant while other tables were getting amazing service and conversation.

Ragazzi has been amazing each time I dine here. I always bring friends and family visiting sydney as it s one of the best places I ve tried and is sure to impress. Food is delicious, wine is delicious and staff are always really friendly and helpful.

Delicious up scale Italian place with a menu that changes daily. I had a duck pasta (forgot exact name) that was wonderful, with generous portions of duck meat (hidden under pasta in picture), not your typical pasta for sure. Only complaint is quite expensive, but it s nice for a special occasion.

The Ravioli was disgusting, the fish on the bread was smelly!! We order the 80pp let the chef decide set. We are Group of 2, The total dishes we have on the menu was $158, which makes me want to laugh the service was terrible, the waitress definitely racist I don t know why the restaurant was popular, there s many good Italian restaurants in Sydney. This one definitely worst I ve been. The inside was very crowded and noisy, I even can t hear my friend.

Ragazzi is truly a hidden gem! Tucked away on Angel Place, just off Pitt St, it was the perfect spot for a delicious, light lunch after a day of shopping. The service was friendly and attentive. We loved the cosy atmosphere and the fresh pasta was absolutely delicious. I have always had great expectations for this store mainly for two reasons. One is that this restaurant is really well received online and is very popular. Another reason is that it is extremely difficult to book, and you can t book it every time. I happened to be doing errands nearby at noon today on weekdays. It was a rare walk in and I sat down with great anticipation. Conclusion upfront: the legendary pasta ceiling The whole dish is on the salty side. If you want to eat it, I recommend ordering it a la carte. The menu arranged by the store is really not cost-effective and tastes average. We really enjoyed our Saturday lunch at Ragazzi. Everything we ordered was a delight, the service was impeccable and the atmosphere very welcoming. The restaurant was busy but that didnt affect the quality of service or make it difficult to hear each other. And we wont rushed out, which is unusual these days. Thanks for a lovely afternoon!

Been here 3 times so far. The food and service have always been amazing. I am Italian and every time I eat the pasta in here I always feel like I have been brought back home. Of course it won t never be the exact same, but I will keep coming back because it tastes amazing. The pasta and ingredients are fresh and The wine selection is great: the service has always ben good too! Lastly, the guy from Rome who assisted us at last, was very nice and made us feel like we were home. Never tired of this place :)

If you look at my review profile you know I only give five stars so if it s one star you know it s bad. Came here for my birthday dinner and was so excited because their instagram looks amazing. Booked ahead and was keen for weeks. To be honest I did see a few other one star reviews and was apprehensive but was willing to give it a shot. But having had amazing, authentic Italian elsewhere, with better service and food, Ragazzi s food (other than the entrees, which were pretty good) was cold and extremely mid, with portion sizes definitely not worth the $80 per person. Additionally, a lot of factors really affect the whole dining experience. So I really do believe that if it were not for the let down in service I m about to mention next, I would have a better perception of the overall experience, including of the food itself. What really dampened the whole experience was when the Asian waitress was extremely rude to my partner, and for literally no apparent reason. For context, we were cramped like sardines in the restaurant. The waitress came up behind my partner and asked him if we were ready to order. Because we were so cramped and the restaurant was so loud, he tried to respond to her but mistakenly looked the other way behind him because he couldn t tell where her voice was coming from, as she had to stand at a slight angle behind us. When he did this, the waitress made a face and gesture like he was stupid for looking in the other direction. To be honest I was incredulous to receive such service, I have literally never received service like that. I m not one to write complaints but this was really something. Maybe she had a bad day, or I mean I too would be irritable working in such a cramped space, or maybe no matter how she acts she believes there will always be customers given the location of the restaurant. Regardless, at the end of the day, I won t be coming back.

Overhyped and very underwhelming. Ordered three pasta dishes and only the ravioli was warm the other two cold. Ravioli had decent flavour but the other two were as bland as they come. Tiny portions for the price. Wouldn t return. In and out within 30 mins.

Nice food, but dessert

This is our third visit to Ragazzi over a twelve month period. Today was our most disappointing. The portions sizes have become smaller and smaller, we left feeling very unsatisfied. Two of the same dish came out to our table with a very big difference in the serving size. If you are hungry, the pasta portion will not fill you up. The anchovy bread with butter was inconsistent in size and at $8 per slice of bread it has to be the most expensive overly buttered bread in town. We had a meal the night before at a much more up market restaurant with drinks, entree and dessert for two people and the overall cost was less than that at Ragazzi. We will not be returning, there are so many better options with amazing tasting pasta s that are actually value for money. Such a shame as the pasta s were done well, just not interested in being overcharged and underserved.

Love this place. Second time and didnt disappoint. Cosy and vibrant atmosphere. Food is authentic Italian with elements of a modern twist. All pasta absolutely delicious. Staff seem to be passionate about what they are serving. Sommelier also great - some nice tips and good conversation. Will be back as soon as I can get another reservation.

Delicious food and wonderful service. I booked for dinner before a concert at City Recital Hall, and it was the perfect start to our evening out. We enjoyed three courses plus wine; the starters were good, especially my husbands tuna dish, and the pasta mains were great, especially the prawn with XO, and we shared dessert - a rice custard with white chocolate and croissant crumb which was interesting but yummy. We found the music a little loud at times but otherwise and cozy, enjoyable ambience. We want to revisit when we can have a long lunch and try other things on their menu.

I usually dislike ordering pasta out but this blew my mind. Each person in my group got a different dish and the flavours were all out of this world. Service was fabulous and all the waiters were highly skilled and knowledgeable of the ingredients and the wine list. Particular shout out to the Italian waiter ( I think his name is Lucca) who was so friendly and accomodating

Standard pasta with no wow moment. The carrot is tasty but pricy, 16$ for a carrot. The dishes portion are really small. And the environment is very noisy, don t know why people all talk very loud in this restaurant.

Intimate Experience with a Wow on Taste! Popped across before a concert at the Recital Hall with no expectations. The waitress was authentic, friendly and wonderful in her recommendations. We went with all her recommendations from the sourdough, croquets to the prawn pasta & scallop pasta. We couldnt help but share the dishes between us and the food was an absolute standout. Fresh innovative ingredients with each dish its own signature. Ill be back & recommending this wonderful find. A big shout out to the chefs, this was a beautiful experience and a cosy atmosphere.

I don t usually write reviews, but my partner and I were visiting friends in Sydney and they recommended this restaurant. We waited 45 minutes for a table, which seems the standard time, but when we arrived we found that we were seated outside in the street where they seemed to have put table where they could. Definitely took away from the experience we were hoping for inside. When asking for an inside table, the man serving us went on to say he had already told us they didn t have inside tables and that we would be outside, which no one recalled. When seated, he was very rushed and didn t seem to take much care in getting us settled. We then had a female wait staff look after us for the night who was rude from the get go. There were a few eye rolls caught and the way in which she spoke to us made it feel like she did not want to be there. The heaters around us were also turned off, which made it even colder. The food was okay, but the service put a real dampener on the taste and experience. My partner and I wouldn t go back based on service.

It was a cosy space hidden in the back. I recommend making a reservation before you go to get a table. I loved the mafaldine cuttlefish pasta, among other dishes.

The restaurant atmosphere, appetizers, and pasta are all delicious. I can t wait to go there again

The host wasn t very friendly nor unfriendly, it just felt like being sit at a show, he showed us the table and left. The food was average, totally not worth the price, the sauces of the pasta were very plain, we had to add salt and pepper to everything to make it taste better. The ambience was awful, they fit so many tables In such a small space that it is impossible to have a conversation since it feels like talking to random people sitting right next to you. The person next to me was close to me than my partner across the table. The affogato presentation is sad and ugly

The vibe was busy with the seating being on the tighter side. Plates, Glassware and general decor were very nice. Service was attentive but with our table being very close to others we never had any chat with the server, understandably busy but would ve been nice to had some small talk with the server to feel more welcomed. Food wasn t anything special, very well plated and had a lot of potential but found most of the dishes quite lackluster. No real depth of flavour and the mains were similar in size to the starters. We ordered 3 starters and two mains. Had high hopes for the cacio e Pepe but it was underseasoned and dissapointing. The affogato was plated like I ordered it in hospital, was quite funny considering how nice the other plates looked. 7/10, and taking my friend s next high praises with larger pinches of salt

My husband and I finally made it to Ragazzi last night for dinner after rebooking a couple of times and it really exceeded both of our expectations! We were lucky enough to get one of the coziest tables in the house and the restaurant really has a beautiful ambiance. The decor, lighting, candles and artwork are just perfect. The noise levels are also ideal - plenty of atmosphere but not too loud. Our waiter was helpful, charming and had a good sense of humor which always makes the dining experience more enjoyable. We started with the Nduja Croquettes and Yellowfin Tuna Tostada, followed by Mushroom Ravioli, Trottole Pork and Fennel Sausage and Brussels Sprouts as a side. Every dish was absolutely delicious! We instantly started discussing what we would order on our next visit!!! We finished up with a grappa each and shared a scoop of pistachio gelato. Really enjoyable night and we have already booked to go back in 4 weeks time. Excited already! Thank you Ragazzi for a perfect night.

This was my second visit to Ragazzi, we came last December for a significant anniversary but the restaurant was extremely busy and while the food was fantastic it was just too busy for everyone. Yesterday s lunch was fantastic everything from service food to atmosphere was first rate so glad I gave Ragazzi a second chance Vegetarian options: Friendly to all dietary types

Food is amazing. We tried the stracciatella and persimmon starter, and got the scallop tagliatelle and both were great. Hard to get tables at peak dinner time 6:30pm so we had to book a month before. Cute interiors but found it too cramped, our table and the one next to us were separated by only inches and we could almost elbow each other the entire time. Some areas were well-spaced, but ours (right side from doorway) seemed super cramped.

Very enjoyable evening. Great wine recommendation and food was delicious.

Shame we were summed up pretty quickly by being 2 x 50+ women... and treated like water drinking , plate sharing nobodies. Both of us own our own business and homes without partners. And had just spent over $400 on 2 matinee tickets to Death of a Salesman. We watched as others were fawned over with wine menus, etc... whilst we were propped at the bar. Told no tables. We asked to move if able.. they said yes, and then we watched people leave, and no one sat in those spots. until another walk-in if 4 was ushered in and tables busily put together for them... We left no tip. We arent ignorant. Las restaurant I attended I tipped over $200....

Cannot speak highly enough of my birthday lunch at Ragazzi. The food is spectacular! Better than most restaurants in Italy. And the service was so warm & genuine. Had the loveliest time, can t wait to go back. 10/10.

We chose 80pp and the chef chose and everything was unexpected because we were sitting at the bar and we could see how it was made and we were laughing at the way it looked and the next minute it was on our table, and the fish on the bread before the meal was salty and fishy and I told them I didnt want to eat cheese and the waiter told us it was butter, I said that there should be no more butter in the dishes in the future. He said that there was no way I could do that. Later, when I asked where we were from, I said that we were Chinese, and he said that he would help us arrange dishes more suitable to our taste. Two starters are two good ones. The bragged pasta I didnt feel anything other than greasy. The cheese dumpling pasta was very greasy, and we were served two salads, one of which was Kewpie salad dressing mixed with vegetables. There was a little meat flavor in p5, and the dessert was only a small portion for two people. As a whole, it is very bad for two people to spend 160, step on big thunder, if you want to go or on the official website, bullish dishes only point it no longer believe in the blind. We chose the 80pp chefs choice of dishes. Every dish was unexpected because we could see the production process while sitting at the bar. We were still complaining that the dish was cooked perfunctorily and it didnt taste good. The next second it was served to our table, the meal was The fish on the front bread was fishy and salty. I told them that I didn t want to eat cheese. The waiter told us that it was butter. I said that the dishes in the future should not have butter in it. He said that the pasta was all butter. There was nothing I could do to cook it, so I said it was ok. Later, when asked where we were from, I said we were Chinese, and he said he would help us arrange dishes that better suited our tastes. As a result, each of the dishes served later became more disappointing than the last. The two appetizers are two of the most delicious. I didnt feel anything else about the boasted pasta except that it was greasy. The cheese dumpling pasta was extremely greasy. We were also served two salads, one of which was kewpie salad dressing mixed with cabbage. The p5 had a bit of meat in it and the overall taste was okay. Desserts are only a small portion for two people. Overall, its very bad. Two people spent 160, and it was a big mistake. If you want to go, you should check the menu on the official website and order a la carte. I dont believe in blind boxes anymore.

The environment and the service is good, but the food is terrible. As an Italian, I dont understand how they could cook such bad pasta. I couldnt cook it so badly even if I tried to do it on purpose. Sorry, not recommended for Italians, maybe good for all the people that dont really know good Italian cuisine.

Appalled at the experience. We ordered three pasta dishes, the first came with one prawn and the second with only one scallop for the whole pasta dish. Very oily. Staff had forgotten one of our dishes and were quite unpleasant. Very disappointing, we had heard good things.

The tasting menu was delicious from start to finish. The table service was efficient, warm and friendly. We were appreciative of the help given in choosing our wine and had a wonderful evening.

I have to say that this experience was very disappointing, especially the managers attitude and handling of the incident. Basically, I book a month in advance and come to dine with high expectations. My daughter was eating pasta, and towards the end of the meal, she pulled out a long blond hair from her throat... Oh my god, how could this be possible in such a high-end restaurant? I waved my hand and told the female staff member who came over, and asked lightly if I wanted to cancel it and make a new one. I said I had finished eating and didn t want any more, and then... I was told that I only had one and a half hours to eat, but it took a long time to serve the food. After the meal was over, I was about to pay the bill, and I was told again that I had eaten hair, and then I found out about the female worker before. The employee was a manager. She came and asked directly, How do you want to deal with it?... She said she would give her a Discount, dinner costing nearly 700 dollars, I gave you a 30 dollar discount for my hair. I havent sincerely apologized yet. Im really disappointed... I brought guests to dinner. I was really tired after walking all day. I didnt want to argue... But Im so disappointed. The food, the rude service, and the high-end charging standards of this restaurant are really disappointing. This set menu priced at 80 per person, regardless of children or adults, is absolutely outrageous and is not recommended for everyone.

For a wine and pasta restaurant, we left feeling quite disappointed. They had undercooked their pastas - both the mafaldine and ravioli we ordered came out extremely tough and dry, with the ravioli edges being borderline inedible. Due to this, as well as their main dish portion sizes, we didn t feel it was worth the price we paid.

We went to Ragazzi for my boyfriends 30th birthday dinner and I cannot recommend the place enough. I had seen mostly excellent reviews but some not so good so I had a slight reservation about going for such an occasion but I am so glad I did. I dont understand how people have been and not had the best evening. The service was fantastic, the atmosphere (even considering it was a Monday evening in the middle of winter) was so inviting and the pasta was unreal. I cant stop thinking about it . Please dont let the few negative reviews dissuade you from going here, honestly excellent. We had the beef tartare starter, Jerusalem artichoke pansotti and prawn conchiglie and would recommend every single dish 10 times over!

It s absurd that an Italian place this good exists in Sydney. It is an absolute standout! Aside from the phenomenally good food, the service is up there as some of the most attentive and considerate I ve seen. We had some dietary restrictions and as soon as we sat down, each menu item was explained, and suggestions were made to accommodate our needs. The food was brought out steadily but promptly, giving us time to enjoy each dish (if you want them all together I suggest asking specifically!). The stracciatella with persimmon and chilli oil was my favourite dish of the year so far! Will be back, and will be raving about Ragazzi for a LONG time!

I dined in today and loved the food, it was wonderful really. What brought down my experience was the service and the tiny tables. When ordering I asked for the entrees to come out alone and slowly and to follow it up with the mains after theyve been cleared. The Italian waiter we had had an attitude towards us and basically scoffed at what I said and said that s normal and Dosent need to be mentioned. Yet our mains came out with our table full of entrees still and our plates not cleared or changed. So we rush to finish what we have and squish everything on the table. I then asked for fresh plates which he didn t respond with anything but a grunt really lol and then forgot about us while our pasta sat getting cold, then looked at me and remembered and apologied then becoming kinder to us, serving us water ( we drank tap still water ) he asked still or sparkling we said still / tap water and he poured us sparkling then next to the same pasta dish another waiter brings the same dish we said we already have that and only ordered one and she just said uh and walked away. We didn t stay for dessert, he did offer us a limoncello shot which was nice but this place hopefully gets more attentive servers who have a kinder attitude towards their guests, before mistakes are made and tried to make up for. Food 10/10 tho.

We discovered Ragazzi while searching for a place to eat. Although it appeared unassuming at first glance, the food was truly exceptional. The dishes were delicious, freshly prepared, and full of flavor. The concise menu was a delight, offering just the right amount of choice. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring we felt comfortable throughout our visit. Our evening was memorable due to their excellent service and attention to our needs. The restaurant was impeccably clean, and the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely visit again. Highly recommended!

We experienced friendly service and a wonderful ambiance. The pasta stood out as the star of the meal, truly exceptional! It was so tasty that I regretted not being able to eat more. Cantabrian anchovy with the sourdough was the highlight of the night. We loved it so much we ask for the name of the brand. We ordered 4 pastas. Best pasta was tajarin, black truffle hazelnut and the cacio e Pepe was average. Dietary restrictions: They are able to check for dietary restrictions.

Great food and waiter was very helpful and friendly! Entrees/starters were all incredible, and the pastas were fantastic and well flavoured. The only downsides were we did have to wait for our table, even though we booked, but this is equally the previous patrons fault. In addition, the waiter didnt write down our order - which resulted in receiving the wrong dish and one of the dishes coming well after the rest. Definitely small flaws in an otherwise fantastic experience!

Superb food & service. Days later & we re still savouring the anchovy sourdough & croquettes were shared for entree. My main of tagliatelle with scallop was an umami flavour bomb. With the help of our very knowledgeable waiter we selected an excellent Italian red from Puglia to accompany our amazing food. Definitely coming back soon.

The restaurant was in a hidden place, when you walk inside its like going into a cave. The staff were very friendly, this place is very big on wines and the dishes are on the smaller side. They were very flavourful. Overall a good place.

Always wonderful. I always order the mafaldine with prawns and kombu butter (my fave ) but this time we tried other pasta dishes like the pansotti with jerusalem artichoke and tagliatelle with scallop and cavolo nero. All yummy, fresh and handmade pasta Starters (crab and persimmon/straciatella combo) also a winner along with the wine list. Will be back again and again! It s a cosy unpretentious eatery in the heart of Sydney CBD. The staff are always lovely too. Grazie mille!
