We got the tasting menu for $120 and felt as if the food wasn t worth the value. The best tasting dishes were the steak and the dessert, the rest were quite underwhelming. The dishes were brought out multiple at once, leaving the table a clutter and letting certain dishes come down to room temperature and having a slight rush felt. Additionally, we had requested for no wasabi on our nigiri but the chefs still added that in, but replaced it after telling the waiter with no hassle. Customer service was great but the food was quite underwhelming for the price paid .

Me and my friends had a very disappointing experience at Kazan Restaurant. The sashimi was not fresh and completely inedible. Other dishes were overly oily, and while the presentation was decent, the taste was awful. The staff were unfriendly and seemed to ignore us, possibly due to being short-staffed. The cocktails were average and lacked uniqueness. The only highlight was the Black Angus. Overall, the restaurant is totally overpriced and not worth it.

My daughter and I stumbled onto this place (literally) when the restaurant where wed made a pre-theatre reservation was too busy and loud for our liking. We didnt have a reservation, but outdoor tables were still available, and it was a pleasant night, so we happily sat down. The outdoor circular booths were comfortable and private, sheltered from the rain, and we were warmly welcomed. We ordered the agedashi tofu, miso eggplant, and Hokkaido scallops for dinner, followed by the Kazan Fondant and Yuzu Pavlova for dessert. Everything was delicious and exceeded our expectations, and all staff members were so friendly, attentive, and helpful--from accommodating us without a reservation to answering questions about the menu and making insightful recommendations. The cocktails were also first-rate. I had the Geisha, and my daughter enjoyed the Nettai Punch. Thanks to this happy accident, we have a new favourite Japanese restaurant in Sydney and will definitely be back. Thanks, Kazan, for a wonderful, relaxing evening! Vegetarian options: The miso eggplant and agedashi tofu were amazing!

Kazan dining is one of my favourite restaurants. Just celebrated my birthday here and everything was amazing - every dish, drinks, service, atmosphere. Make sure you check this place out, you will not regret it !!!

Amazing experience. The food was sublime. A stand out Japanese food experience. Better than a lot of the more famous Melbourne restaurants.

We had the Tasting Menu. Everything was delicious. The staff were friendly and patient with us. $120 per head is very good value for the food we had. It s a well designed space, we were able to hear each other talk clearly, seating was comfortable and the venue not too big.

Honestly, one of the best services I ve ever experienced. I was 15 minutes late and only had about 1 hour and 15 minutes of dining time. But we ended up dining over the time limit because the food was amazing. One of the waitresses even rearranged the tables to let us stay longer. To top it off, she surprised us with a birthday dessert, which was completely unexpected.

Although the location of the restaurant in the city is difficult to find. I invited my family and friends to dine together, and the bill cost $1,371. When I paid the bill, I was told that I had to pay a 10% service charge. Isnt it the greatest support for the restaurant that we chose your restaurant to dine at on Monday? Isnt service the minimum standard of the restaurant? Why do you charge an extra service fee? If it is a holiday, it is understandable. So will tell all friends never back to this restaurant. Too many choices in the city. This restaurant is nothing special.

I had more than 1 lovely experiences with Kazan. They showed us how amazing in their services also food. My son who is 7 year Olds and he loved sushi rolls. My husband and I love especially Sashimi, taco, oyster and dessert so much .

We had the set menu for dinner and it was all so beautiful and delicious. There were 10 different dishes in all, plenty amount of food. The service was excellent and the staff were so happy and efficient. It was a joy and utmost pleasure to dine there and experience Kazan. Thank you so much.

Wonderful service! My husband and I enjoyed the set menu. Favourites were the Wagyu taco and Hiramasa Kingfish. The kitchen wrote a lovely Happy Anniversary on our dessert. We will definitely visit Kazan again.

Very nice experience we loved it all

Cozy, amazing food and service. Everything in the degustation menu was divine. Ive never enjoyed brussels sprouts as much as theirs. Our waitress was very pleasant and provided a thorough explanation of every dish and answered all our questions regarding the different flavours that made each dish pop. We were really satisfied, I highly recommend it and we will definitely be back again.

Brought my husband here for his birthday and ordered the tasting menu. All I can say is WOW! The food was incredible, particularly the prawn tempura and the meat was amazing. You can tell that there was a lot of thought and care that went into the pairings of each item on the menu. Our wait staff were also so accommodating to our needs, and came back multiple times to confirm our requests just in case we changed our minds. They also were kind enough to sing my husband happy birthday and show us around the place despite being the only customers there. Overall amazing experience and will definitely come back again with family and friends! Dietary restrictions: Very halal friendly! So accommodating!

A Cosy Japanese restaurant hidden away in Martin Place with delicious food and great service

Amazing! Booked for a business meeting and must say, this is of the best Japanese restaurants I ve ever been to. The food was first class as was the service. Imaginative menu choices which break away from the boring selection you all too often find. The wait staff were attentive and service was prompt as we were on a timeline. I highly recommend and will be back on my next visit to Sydney

Probably my second favourite restaurant in sydney after fire door. I have been to alot of fancy restaurants and this is right up there, by far the best japenese food I have had in Australia. Staff was friendly and food was good but if you have allergies beware. The reason we chose the restaurant is because the menu was labeled so beautifully but it turns out that many things were mislabeled and we did not find out until after we ordered. The staff should have started off by saying beware the menu is not labeled properly. Dietary restrictions: The menu was labeled incorrectly for allergens.

The best Japanese food offering in Sydney. Kian and team always excellent service in a hidden gem location right in the heart of cbd. Highly recommend for business lunch, date night or family get together.

The tasting menu was delicious. My favorite dish was the salmon sashimi; it was creamy. The fish tempura was crispy, and the brussels sprouts were sweet and tasty, making them another favorite. The wagyu was soft and tender. The chocolate dessert was rich and creamy, which I enjoyed. My sakura mocktail tasted natural and sweet. The customer service was friendly. I would rate the experience 5 stars, but I had one negative incident. There was a miscommunication about the wagyu. We were a party of six, but only received two plates of wagyu. I expected three plates, as it should have been shared between two people per plate. I was waiting for my portion when the waitress informed us that each plate was meant to be shared among three people. This was very misleading. After discussing the issue with the manager, it was resolved and we received the additional wagyu plate. However, I was very disappointed with this miscommunication. Clear communication from the start would have prevented this issue. Thank you to the manager that handled the situation well. Additionally, the food came out very quickly. I would prefer a steadier pace to allow my stomach to rest between dishes, as I felt rushed through the meal. I wanted to share this experience so that the restaurant can learn from these mistakes and improve.

Great Japanese restaurant, tucked away. Delicious food with some modern twists, but also classic Japanese. Miso soup or any fish - recommended.

The food here is really good, but quite pricey for what you get. Ive been here a few times, and yes, maybe a few years ago, these prices were OK. But especially their nigiri options are so expensive, considering the many more options out there at comparable quality and more affordable prices. Ive been here for work events and personally. The recent visit was personal and was quite taken aback with the ala carte prices. Food and drinks tasty. Maybe reserve for work covered meals!

This restaurant has no idea what Omakese is but the use the Omakese to charge u more. Staffs are not professional, u see them play around during setting, unwilling to help, pretend not seeing your call. Go to Azuma n have a look! They have very good standards. U charge a similar price but u r not even half of them! You really not!

Ordered the tasting menu. It was great, portions were generous. Service could be improved though. Didnt feel appropriate for a restaurant of this standard. The staff were not attentive, they were just eager to quickly clear the utensils. In addition, as I paid using the Kris+ app, they gave me a QR code to scan, and just disappeared from my table. Though the app showed the payment went through, no one tended to us and we didnt know if we could leave. We had to get their attention, which took some effort. Disappointed with the service, considering this is a Japanese fine dining restaurant. Hope the management would consider putting more effort in training the staff.

Lovely food service n ambience We ordered the Tasting menu n it was superb. I loved all the courses but the standouts have to be the edamame fried with special spices and the Brussels sprouts cooked perfectly in some v umami dressing n flavours so delicious!! The sashimi n sushi was so fresh melt-in- the mouth , texture smooth n u can taste the sweetness of the fish If I could critique one thing is that I would have liked the courses to have been served slower n not come so quickly one after another ; they should have paced it better as to not rush you to finish as your next course is sitting there waiting for you . I did tell them but they still continued!! Overall was a very lovely evening of good food n ambience . We shall be back! I recently dined at Kazan Japanese Dining and was blown away by the starters and sushi/sashimi platters - they were absolutely delicious! However, I found that the mains, while good, didnt quite match the same level of excellence. Despite this, the restaurants fit-out was impressive, and the service was exceptional throughout the meal. Overall, Kazan offers a fantastic dining experience, especially for those looking for high-quality Japanese cuisine.

Dined here on a Thursday as a walk in guest. We had no expectations and were pleasantly surprised with our experience. There are so many options however we opted for the set menu. The portions were quite generous for the of two of us. We didn t finish everything even though we wanted to. The food here is delicious, especially if you like modern japanese cuisine. The edamame was addicting. The kingfish fresh. The wagyu taco was a flavour bomb. The sushi / nigiri was as fresh as the ones at the fish market. However the nigiri was served with real wasabi here. The Brussel sprouts were amazing. I liked dipping the Moreton bay bug in the balsamic soy. Steak was cooked perfectly medium, I should have asked for a knife to cut it the steak into smaller pieces but still delicious nonetheless. Service was great - our waiter continually checked to see if we re happy. The owner, Kiehyon caught me staring at the ceiling. I thought it looked like a fan but he sat down and explained the inspiration behind the architecture. If you decide to dine here - definitely ask the owner about the interior design and architecture of the restaurant. Have a look at the stone used throughout especially if your table has hints of red on it. I turned on my flashlight to see get a better look. I ve never seen a stone like the one they have used in the restaurant. During dessert, Kiehyon even taught me a bit of Italian and a bit about moscato which paired perfectly with a strawberry cheesecake. Over all, I was very happy with my experience and would could come back.

Nice food and quick service

Had a very pleasant experience here for our anniversary and couldn t really find a fault with our time there. We absolutely enjoyed the foods from their set menu that provided variety of tastes and they were all of great quality. Foods that normally aren t my desired tastes were actually to my liking as they were cooked together so well. Service was prompt and friendly and would say the prices were justified through the entire experience. I think I would probably just say that the cocktails we had probably could do with less chili powder and sesame seeds in their respective drinks though.

The service was amazing, we advised the waiter we only had a short time frame before the show, he recommended dishes what would come quickly due to the time restraint. The food was delicious and fresh. The service quick and efficient, will be coming back to try more off the menu.

Can t explain the amazing dinner I had with my friends in this place, was amazing!! We went there to celebrate one of my friends birthday and the staff were so attentive to us. Stunning food and great atmosphere. Nothing but great comments to Juli, Luna and the staff for their service and attention all night. Hopefully we ll meet again soon.

Loved this place!!! I came here on a random Wednesday for lunch and was obsessed that I had to cancel my reservation at another place for the Saturday and book with Kazan. The food was amazing, the waitresses were all super interactive and nice, the restaurant owner was super helpful and provided excellent service. Shouted us desert at the end too!!! Highly recommend this place if you want a 10/10 experience and good food (salmon tacos are the best here don t forget to order). Good job Kazan

My wife and I chose Kazan as our first special dinner as a newly married couple and we couldnt have chosen better. The food was incredible, the staff were amazing and so friendly and our experience was simply perfect. Thank you so much to everyone at Kazan who contributed to a really special evening. We will certainly be back many times!

Food was awesome, drinks were awesome, our waitress was awesome, the guy who ran the floor was terrible, example of this is we felt so pressured that we had to hurry up and get out of the place. He would be the main reason why I would not dine there again, the man came over and asked if we wanted a drink, we asked for 1 glass of French sparkling rose, we ended up with 2, was not going to complain I actually enjoy it. We had the plates on our table there was still sauce on the plates that my son wanted to put on his meat, however as soon as we took the meat off he snatched the plate. We had another plate (the on with the okra) there was okra still on there and he was removing the plate I had to quickly take the okra off otherwise he was taking the plate. Same thing for the rest of the meal and dessert. The killer part was my wife didn t even get to finish her sparkling red she still had a sip in there and he took the glass, I know a sip doesn t sound like a lot but it is to some people that are really enjoying it. If you want to hurry people out they will not want to come back. You guys have a HAT, we spent over $350, repeat business is what make restaurant s.

We ordered a set menu and asked if half of the steak can be returned to the kitchen to cook for a bit longer.this is because I cant eat non well done meat whilst my husband prefers medium rate. In every single restaurant weve been to its completely normal and they are happy to do it for you. Its also normal that people at the same table might like their meat done differently. The waiter apologised and said no, he didnt even try to speak to the kitchen. I find for a price of the venue (almost $300 for 2) I could expect this to be accommodated or at least some effort to make it work or substitute offered. I didnt want to make it too much of a deal in the restaurant because it was a special night for my husband but I found it to be a very lazy and frustrating attitude. I also didnt really like where we were seated, right opposite the door, despite us arriving first. Every guest who arrived after stood past us waiting to be seated, it wasnt very comfortable and we couldnt freely speak to each other.

Had a very pleasant dinner tonight. Staff were friendly, attentive, and very insightful on the dish recommendation and descriptions. We ordered a range of things and my first thoughts were i m definitely coming back Pacific Oysters These were fresh and shucked to perfection. They were presented 3 different ways one being naked highlighting the freshness, second with dash of ponzu, and third with ikura and garlic ginger salsa. All were paired perfectly. A must to start with Sashimi Tacos Served while the shell was still slightly warm. Perfect crisp on the shell and super fresh and vibrant fish on the inside. Coriander hits you throughout and lightens up the dish even more. Ceviche A generous portion of their freshest fish cut to perfect bit sized pieces served with their amazing house sauce. Tasted like sunshine is a way i d describe it. Also a must Nigiri We ordered the o-toro, mackarel, scallop, wagyu. I ve been to many omakase spots before and Kazan definitely ranks as high if not better than some of the omakase spots i ve been to. The o-toro is to die for. You are missing out if you don t get their sushi. Beef Short Ribs Perfectly cooked accompanied by one of the best puree s i ve ever tasted. Definitely finished the meal strong with this one If you re looking for the perfect date night. This is the place to go!

Exquisite blend of traditional and modern Japanese in a chic restaurant at the heart of Sydney s CBD. Every dish is stunning. Both the toothfish and salmon are among the best fish dishes in Sydney. We then had one of the best dessert experiences on the waiter s recommendation - pairing the chocolate fondant with the Chambers Old Vine Muscadelle, Rutherglen Vic. Amazing. Thanks to the staff for a great night.

Friendly and timely service, especially when eating before a show at the theatre royal. Melt in your mouth sashimi and scallops. Succulent BBQ d deboned quail and sensational snapper accompanied crunchy soy Brussels sprouts. We ve eaten at Kazan a few times and the food and beverage is great.

Rude and Terrible THE MANAGER WAS RUDE AND Condescending To the restaurant response I was not drunk, I was very hungry (then angry by the response of the manager) but thanks for showing google the kind of people that run this restaurant by making excuses for their terrible attention and lying. We traveld 30 minutes to come here, arrived 9:20 The information in google said it closed at 10:00 the manager with terrible attitude and no desire to be amicable at all, rudly told us that a restaurant to be successful has to close before hours to avoid paying more salaries I have read this establisments responses to bad reviews and in one case they responded that leaving a bad review its the way to affect the restaurant, the affected me in my honeymoon so I think they diserve a bad review. For The owner of this restaurant I was here January 31 should know this and take measures, and if the person that told me to leave is the owner I hope your restaurant gets results as bad as you treated me. Terrible

Amazing dining experience. We had the tasting menu for 2. We were already blown away by the entrees. Loved the saltiness of the edamame, texture of the kingfish sashimi, and the wagyu tacos was just the cherry on top This was then followed by the chefs selection, and all I can say was that it was fresh and flavoursome ! The Bug Tempura was crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the spicy lemon dressing gives it an extra little kick. The Black Angus was bursting with flavour and the foie gras was delicious ! The salad and brussel sprouts were an excellent way to balance the intense flavours from the previous dish. Finally, the dessert - we had the Ichigo Cheesecake. This was refreshing and an amazing dish to finish the night ! Overall, I had a great experience here with a nice ambience. Highly recommend !

Tuck away from the main street, and it is quite easy to miss it unless you know to look for it. Highlight of the night for us was the duck special. Im a total sucker for ducks. I can never cook it myself, so I am always curious, Whenever I see it on the menu, I have to order it. Cook medium, with a thin layer of cripsy skin and the sauce, just the right amount to enhance the flavour without overpowering it. For those not a fan of duck, the nigiri sushi were super fresh and delicious. Good range of options from the modern japanese menu. The miso flavour of the tooth fish was a tad too rich for our personal liking. Service was fabulous. They took note that it was a birthday celebration. Thank you very much.

Great cocktail menu, the wait staff were so attentive and the food was amazing. We got Wagyu tacos, sashimi, scallops, the scotch fillet, mushrooms, fondant and the pavlova. The wagyu scotch fillet was a standout. Definitely worth it.

Great intimate setting let down by an unimaginative overpriced tasting menu. Some of the toughest wagyu steak I ve had at any restaurant and an odd pairing for the tempura bug. Service was a bit rough around the edges as well, plates were dropped loudly at our table and others as well - not the level of service expected in midtown Sydney.

First time dining here and I will definitely be back! Low lighting created a romantic atmosphere and placed our attention on the offerings of the restaurant rather than other guests. The service was great, with water being topped up every few minutes and friendly staff who were always helpful and smiling. The tasting menu was exceptional for the price and while they were out of stock of an item, the manager apologised and gave us both a glass of great wine before we even needed to ask! They were very attentive, and went out of their way to ensure every guests experience on the night was perfect. The wagyu tacos were our personal favourite, and the flavours of the grilled meat really came through. The cocktails were also of high quality and presented very well.

A 5 star rating does not even convey what a gem this restaurant is. Atmosphere: tucked away in the corner of a shopping center, Kazan provides a sophisticated intimate dining experience. The staff was friendly and attentive. We spent our evening speaking with the owner who guided us toward an a la carte dinner. His love and passion for the food he creates is incredible and recommendations were divine. Food: best sushi we have ever had. We ordered the salmon tacos, kingfish sashimi, salmon/kingfish/tuna nigiri, tuna &cucumber roll, steamed red snapper, 49 ocean trout and roasted Brussels sprouts. Each dish was so balanced and flavorful. The Brussels sprouts and trout (owner s recommendation) were just some of our favorites, but it would be hard to choose. We finished with a whiskey fondant and glass of fortified wine. We could not recommend an evening at Kazan highly enough and wish we lived in Sydney to try the owner s other establishments.

I came here for dinner, and their services have been amazing. I didnt choose the tasting menu because we have someone with a special diet. Their staff was attentive. The food was good, but I think I love their sushi and sashimi more than the main dish second favour is their dessert, such as ichigo cheese cake and hojicha icecream. However, the proportion of the cheesecake was small. The food was good but quite pricey so I would come back once a year for special occasions.

Ambient atmosphere, delicious food efficient service - what more can you ask for?! The eggplant dish - was flawless - my favourite! Definitely perfect for a date night or ladies catch up! Easily located in Martin Place with accessible parking. Sydney new hidden gem!

The food is excellent, especially the sushi rolls which are spectacular. The place has a charming decoration and is located in a great area. The only annoyance is that the restaurant does not have its own bathroom; You must go out and go down some stairs to access the bathrooms in the center where it is located. In relation to the high prices in Australia I can say that it is cheaper than what you usually find considering price/quality.

My family celebrated my partners birthday here. Service is excellent. Staff are all attentive and efficient. Food is served to perfection. My personal favourite is the strawberry cheesecake with the Happy Birthday writing on the plate. Its soooo good! Thank you Kazan for the wonderful dining experience.

I dont understand why this place is a 4.7 ??? its a hatted restaurant, the set menu didnt change recently so not sure why Im the only person that found it ... so underwhelming the place has sleek black interior & a luxurious atmosphere service is (very) attentive grilled edamame was the starter, loved the aromatic shio kombu flavour (reminded me of fermented black beans in Chinese cuisine) - unfortunately the highlight...the entrees went down from here - kingfish sashimi...was disappointing, very average quality - wagyu taco featured small well-done beef cubes (a bit tough, not sure what they were going for here), it did pair well with the creamy yuzu tho - miso soup was just miso soup + tomato, onion, enoki ._. - Chefs selection was quite forgettable, the only thing that stood out was the maki roll (lil premium sushi bite) moving onto the mains in order of enjoyment - I like my veggies but I did not expect that they would rank significantly higher than the meats 1. Brussel sprouts lol - what can I say, u cant go wrong with balsamic vinegar soy 2. Mushroom spinach salad - mushroom paired well with its brother truffle, which carried the whole dish 3. Angus - I liked the foie gras & honey onion soy sauce more than the actual beef rip...it was cooked medium (which is fine), but the exterior was quite tough ??? 4. bug tempura - tempura itself was fine, but the spicy lemon dressing on the side was ??? did not enjoy at this point I dont know if the problem is me lol dessert was ichigo cheesecake - basically a deconstructed rendition, quite yummy exploring all the different components I really wanted to like this place & had high expectations but overall, compared to the other Japanese set menus Ive had across Sydney...this one is close to the bottom Vegetarian options: edamame

Every dish here has amazing combinations of flavours. Their eggplant dish with peanut sauce with a touch of chilli is the best thing I ve ever eaten. Even the miso soup is the best I ve ever had. A really special place.

The best lunch set menu. For the price you get more than enough of food for one person. I was pretty full. For a Japanese food lover the food was amazing. Will definitely visit again to try other dishes.

We both really love Japanese food & sushi so much that we confidently can said which one is fresh tasty worthy & so far kazan dining win our heart every dishes was mind blowing when you ate it Our recommendation: Hiramasa Tiradito soft shell crab roll tuna & cucumber roll all the nigiri (we cant even choose which one is the best as everything really fresh. When you bite the fish everything still have crunchy texture and melting in your mouth which really rare to find this kind of nigiri in sydney sushi shop) kaibashira saute Thank you so much! My wife and I stopped in for dinner at 7.00 pm on Thursday evening, after seeing an entertaining Taiko performance outside the Museum of Sydney. The Maître de took us to our table and continued to take our orders and bring our meals. The friendly and efficient service was impeccable. We decide to order a-la-carte and order the items individually. We started with sparkling and still mineral water, then the tasty Miso soup, the wonderfully presented 6 piece Signature Sushi, the delightful Cuttlefish Sushi, the delicious Miso glazed eggplant, the melt in the mouth confit of Ocean Trout, 2 tasty Wagyu Tacos, then 2 very palatable Salmon Tacos, then another 2 Wagyu Tacos (clearly favourites). I drank a delicious bottle of hot Kunizakari Daiginjo Sake, while my wife stuck with the mineral water. We then ate dessert including the Yuzu Pavlova and the fabulous Cheesecake and a well made cappuccino and a flat white coffee. Staff gave us a complimentary, refreshing, glass of iced Plum Wine to complete our meal. This was our best meal this year, we really loved it. The modern setting was appropriate for the style of food served here. Meals are expensive, but we think it was worth it. A meal here is highly recommended.

A hidden gem. Thursday we had the pleasure of dining at this hidden gem in martin place. The restaurants location is off the main strip adding some real charm to the establishment and making it a true hidden gem. Believe me when I say the extra distance to reach its location its definitely worthwhile. On arrival we were greeted by Sasha who was our host for the evening. We felt immediately welcome and comfortable . Upon arrival we expressed to Sasha our needs in order to be able to attend a function straight after our dinner. Sasha was able to organise our food swiftly giving us great service always making sure we were satisfied with everything but never being invasive or intrusive of our privacy. We started our dinner with Tacos and Nasu Dengaku . The Tacos had two filling of wagyu and salmon. We found the dish well balanced between the crunchiness of the tacos and either the creaminess of the salmon or the tenderness of the wagyu. DELICIOUS. The Nasu Dengaku ,a beautiful miso eggplant dish, was my wifes favourite, which I also found very pleasant in texture and flavour. For main, which we shared,we ordered Soft Shell Crab Maki roll, Lamb Rump and Bug Tempura. The Bug Tempura was our favourite dish with the tempura and the bug cooked to perfection. The Lamb was incredibly tender, juicy with the right hint of smokiness. We found the maki roll to be a good dish to compliment the lamb and the Bug tempura . After the main meals, following a friends recommendation, for dessert we ordered the Yamazaki whisky fondant, a chocolate ganache served with coffee ice cream and chocolate soil. I am not big on dessert so we ordered primarily for my wife. It was so delicious that I ended up eating most of it to the point where I found myself scraping the plate to gather any last bit. What a sensational dish, simply incredible. Do yourself a favour and order this dish to end your meal with a bang. Overall we had a great experience with the service provided and the food. Well be back for more. A big thank you to Sasha and all the staff for making our evening such a delightful event.

I originally wrote a review about food being somewhat salty but management reached out to say that they will relay the information to kitchen and even offered to remedy the experience. I was unable to take up on their offer but feel that the restaurant genuinely cares about the dining experience. The restaurant staff was very friendly and kind too. Bumping the review to 5 stars.

The tasting menu is great and affordable as a hatted restaurant. My partner and I enjoyed most of the dishes there. Starting with the edamame and beef taco, I really like the taco shell is still warm and crunchy and it so tasty with the beef together. The kingfish is so fresh and good with the dressing and diced grapes! We add the scallop dish for entree as I really wanted to try. The plating for the scallop is pretty, but the flavour is somehow not so surprising. Sushi platter is good, I can taste the freshness in the sashimi. For the bug tempura, its really well cook as the bug is very tender, but I would prefer the tempura crumb than batter (only my preference, the batter is actually not bad). The main is tenderloin with foie gras, which is our least favourite, the steak itself is so tough and chewy, a little bit of let down. Brussel sprout is super delicious, I dont usually love veggie, but this one is just so good. And the whisky fondant, the best!!! The rich chocolate flavour with a hint of whisky, and the coffee ice cream!! SOOOO GOOD!

Went out for dinner with my girls and honestly this was such a great space to catch up after some time apart. The food was absolutely delicious with great portion sizes at a great price point. With each of us getting a plate or two of something we liked and sharing was more than plenty but the food was so good we left there in a food coma. The cocktails were amazing as well. The staff were so lovely and so accommodating as well as giving great suggestions to our individual tastes. Definitely will be back

I visited Kazan for dinner at a Japanese restaurant in Sydneys commercial center. The inside of the store has a calm atmosphere and is very nice. The first thing I was served was sashimi. A gorgeous presentation with otoro served in a kazan square. Beer goes well with salmon, a dish that allows you to enjoy the original deliciousness of red meat and sashimi. Each nigiri has a slightly different spice on top of the toppings, giving it a flavor that spreads in your mouth. The sea urchin from Gunkamaki is also a dish with a strong flavor that goes well with sake. The grilled scallop nigiri is also recommended. The customer service was kind and I had a very comfortable and enjoyable meal. Using tuna sashimi($16for 2pc) pretending it s o-toro($32for 2pc). When I find out the colour and the texture was not otoro, I found the waiter and thought she got the order wrong, and she said that is otoro, after I asked again she said actually that s chu toro not otoro, they running out otoro. I asked her to talk to the chef, and the result was they won t charge for the otoro, I wasn t trying to make it scene,so I said yes that will do. If u running out dishes just simple say u sold out. It is not acceptable to deceive others. many people aren t that familiar with the food, that s not the excuse for the restaurant to take a chance to deceive consumers.

My wife & I went there for a pre-theatre meal and we were very impressed with the service including explanations of the menu. They were aware that we needed our chosen items to consume without rushing to leave for our theatre booking. The quality of the foods were of the highest level for freshness & taste. Highly recommend & would definitely go back to try other food items on the menu.

Amazing Japanese food . Everything we ordered was all delicious & absolutely loving the presentation as well. Yuli who served us on the night was very friendly and very nice to making sure that customers are happy. The only downside is to find the restaurant was a bit challenging for the first timer . We definitely recommend this restaurant to try it out for those who haven t.

Lovely food, great ambience very disinterested staff. Kept filling my water glass with a a combination of still and sparkling water as no one bothered to check what it was each time! No thank you or conversation when they brought the bill - zero engagement. Did not leave a tip!

i went here for dinner to celebrate my anniversary, the service was great and the vibes of the restaurant however literally every single dish we had was so salty. we only enjoyed the cheesecake and wagyu tacos in the tasting menu. however what was extremely disappointing was how they had a good amount and staff yet no one actually tried the food. seriously, no place puts that much salt in everything EDIT: they invited us to a complimentary dinner, my missus went to celebrate her birthday. she said the food was good, alot better than the first initial experience. waitstaff was attentive and was given some nice seating.

The lunch set menu was disappointing. Suggest sticking to the a la carte or tasting menu. Service was also ordinary for a Japanese restaurant.
