Best Nepali Restaurant in Townhall city

20241220 Thali chicken curry set & garlic naan was very good. A little spicy on the sides and salty on the curry but good overall. We liked the mango lassi with cardamom and pistachio crumbles. Cute decor. Single stall bathrooms. Menus are ratty and need to be redone. Mango lassi wasn t even listed in the menu but luckily we asked for ours. Pay at the bar. Takes Apple Pay.

The food was extremely bland. The veg chowmein had some raw broccoli and some onion, the taste was so bland. Kids chowmein didnt have any vegetable. The dal makhani was thin and bland. Overall, one of the worst food I have had.

I visited a few days ago and had a disappointing experience. Despite the restaurant not being busy, the service was extremely slow. We had to wave multiple times just to get someone s attention to take our order. We ordered the mutton choila set, but the choila tasted terrible, as if it was prepared 2-3 days earlier. The momo platter wasn t any better the chili momo tasted like it was just mixed with ketchup and was overly sweet. The chatpat was average. Overall, the service was poor, likely due to short staffing, and the food quality was underwhelming.

I had Chatpatey, Veg Pakoda, Chicken Fried rice, chicken chowmein and chicken steam momo. Had a good time with my family during my holiday in Sydney. Good food with good customer service. Staffs are helpful and hospitable. We really enjoyed the food and service.

No manners at all from all the staff. They think that whatever they provide we need to eat even if we are giving them special instruction on some foods. I suggest not to go there because the staff are stupid.

I recently went to try laphing and chatpate, at namaste restaurant town hall with my friend but it was such a disappointment. The laphing was way too salty, and the chatpate didnt taste good at all. We were really excited to grab some good taste but both items were overly salty. I definitely wont be coming back to this place again.

It was the last day at our university before our long break. We planned to go to this place and enjoy our day as it could be memorable for us. We ordered some other food and chicken chili. They served buffalo in our chicken chilly, which is a serious matter for me. I would have given 0 stars if I could. If youre sensitive to any food or meat, dont go to this place. Above average, but not memorable South Asian food. I ordered one of the Thali dishes and each component was good. Nothing was unforgettable. Their Chai is self service from a machine which I ve never seen before. The decor was basic and the service was warm and casual.

The rice was overly dry, making it almost inedible. The chicken curry was cold inside, as if it hadn t been properly heated.I asked floor staff to heat it up again.To top it off, the pickles had a strange smell I couldn t take second bite that made them unappetising.Overall, the food was far from fresh or enjoyable. I wouldnt recommend this place.

We visited Sydney for the first time and decided randomly to have dinner at this restaurant and we were very happy that we had our first Sydney dinner here. Food was top notch the taste of food was very homely. I had chicken biryani at so many places in Melbourne and after having chicken biryani at Namaste I would say it stands there on top of my list with perfect flavours. We also had vegetarian thali and loved it. Different veg options had different authentic flavours and dal was the best of all. We also had chicken thali on the last day of our Trip and the chicken curry was awesome. Would be on our list again next time when we visit to Sydney.

We visit townhall venue few weeks ago. Food was really good but guys you have to really improve on your customer service. We order chatpat and drinks to serve first but we got chatpat at last. Waiter s attitude omg, sisters if you are not happy with work talk to your owner don t show that attitude to customers, we pay for food not to see your attitude. Suggestion to owner, please talk to your waiters and ask them to improve attitude and improve service. Chefs are doing great but floor staff need improvement.

I visited Namaste restaurant with some colleagues during lunchtime a couple of weeks ago. The veg thali and pangra set were tasty and reminded me of eating a meal/set in Nepal. My friend noted that the chowmein was ok but not particularly flavourful. Although we visited at lunchtime, the restaurant was not busy (there were only 3 small groups when we arrived and 4 when we left). Unfortunately the service we received was mediocre as staff werent particularly attentive. For example, we had to request water multiple times and flag them down to place our order almost 15min after sitting down. The vibe of the restaurant was not bad. I really liked the initial water jug and cups. It would have been nice for additional water to be poured into those same jugs! All in all, not a bad restaurant. It could be great with some small tweaks!

I had the worst experience with the restaurant. Went there with 8 other people. I ordered dhedo thali set, which came with 3 set of achar and one of them had foul smell. When mentioned, there was no apology or acknowledgement. Other people ordered different items and no-one was happy with their food. Food

One of the worst food i ever had in my life at Nepalese restaurant. Firstly the staff were not in good behaviour. As soon as we sit, they want the order by mentioning that chef will be angry if its late. Well in Dine in restaurant, you should mention us closing time at door, not after we sit on a table and we didn t get 1 min also to look at the menu. Secondly, we order 9 individual dishes where 1 is missing till the end of all other 8 people finished up. We order Thali set which is one of the common and famous dish in Nepalese community. Some of them are Dhindo with goat and some are rice with chicken. I just want to say that Dhindo is the only one item that was fresh and good. There was just 3 types of pickle where tomato pickle was off long time ago. You can smell it off from far. No vegetable at all And only few leaf of salad, 1 lemon wages, and 1 slice of carrot and 1 prawn. How can someone call it Thali set? The goat curry was only water and meat, no spices and no taste. Whereas, We like the momo and chicken curry. But overall we didn t finished the food and nobody care either we like or dislike the food also. Never going to place like that again. They open such a big business in one of the big city, and they are not looking after the quality and good service. Imagine the foreigners visit such place and they had such quality food, they can barely imagine how the quality of food back in Nepal. That s Just the bad review about our food which is one of the best food in world.

Went to namaste sydney by seeing numerous promotion by so called social media influencers on facebook. So as soon as we went there the waiter came with menu and ask us to order immediately. The time was just 8.45pm. She told just quickly order or our kitchen will be closed and our chef dai will get angry. How can someone order the food within 1 minute after getting the menu. After we ordered the food, the first food came which was gilo chatpate. My lord it was full of food colour. When you have one bite you can all the colour on your tongue and lips. No taste you can only taste the extra colour added to the food. Second meal was the khana thali. You dont expect too much as there were 3 different pickles but only one vegetable tarkari. And the tomato pickle were smelly like it was made a week ago. Complained to the guy idk if he was a owner, he never cared , didnt even say sorry just left off. The only good food over there was the momo. Been terrible experience on the hungry night. Maybe after this review they can improve and be better than just giving bad customer service and bad food.

As a nepalese i would be happy to support business but i am very disappointed with your service because of my past 3 online orders were incorrect. First time part of my order was missing. Second time veg dumplings was alike to chicken dumpling and for veg person dumplings should have a filling of cabbage not soyabean. Nt sure what was in the dumpling but it seems like a meat. Had to throw it out coz i had ordered for my partner and he is veg. 3rd time i ordered chicken curry for me to have it with rice but they sent something else. It is such a dissapointment that my partner now hesitate to order from any nepalese restaurant. It would be good if staffs are aware of the menu and could double check before sending it to the costumers.

It was my second visit to Namaste but I had extremely bad experience!!! The noodles i ordered were having excess salt and vinegar and nan bread was not cooked properly. No dish was good. Also, the staff who attended my family was very impolite and the service was slowest. I would never recommend anybody to visit. No serving spoons were provided, we ordered salad that didn t come till the end as the staff forgot the order and quarter plates were also missing on the table which was a much important thing while dining with family as nobody can eat from a single plate. I thought it would be a better experience this time but it disappointed me!!!!

Do not spend a penny here. This restaurant is a shame in the name of Nepalese and Indian food. I was served stale cold 3 pooris for lunch. When asked if these could atleast be heated if not freshly made, was denied. If you know your cusine, pooris are supposed to be eaten freshly prepared and not stale cold.
